Things I have learned from Dracula and Carmilla:
Vampires are super melodramatic. I thought Dracula with his "blood of Attila" speech was a ham, but then along comes little miss "rapture of my enormous humiliation"...mademoiselle "I live in you and you would die for me I love you so" fraulein "girls are like caterpillars" Mircalla what the flaming fuck are you on about just boink her already you useless lesbian.

“Dearest, your little heart is wounded; think me not cruel because I obey the irresistible law of my strength and weakness; if your dear heart is wounded, my wild heart bleeds with yours. In the rapture of my enormous humiliation I live in your warm life, and you shall die—die, sweetly die—into mine. I cannot help it; as I draw near to you, you, in your turn, will draw near to others, and learn the rapture of that cruelty, which yet is love; so, for a while, seek to know no more of me and mine, but trust me with all your loving spirit.”

to my fellow vampire loving, wlw girlies please i’m begging you to read Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu!!!
the book was written before dracula and is rumoured to be one of Bram stokers inspirations to write Dracula.
i don’t want to reveal too much about the book but to summarise, it is narrated by a young woman who is preyed upon by a vampire called carmilla.
it’s such a great gothic novella thought i would share hehe
