ooh idea maybe? commander cody meeting padawan!reader for the first time, being reluctant to get close to them because he sees it as a waste of time, but inevitably becoming fond of them and now they’re glued to him 24/7. you don’t have to do it but it came to my mind randomly and now i cant stop thinking about it. have a great day!
“Adaptable”
Summary: Commander Cody isn’t really sure about this new padawan idea
Paring: Cody x GN padawan reader (Platonic)
Warning: None :) please enjoy
Word count: 1511
Notes: Thank you so much for the suggestion! I loved the idea and I hope it embodies what you imagined. Also maybe there could be a part 2? Idk
Tumblr media
Cody has learned over time that if he wanted to survive, have this brothers or general survive he would have to be adaptable to any and everything.
Cody would follow his general or men blindly if they asked him too and he was sure that they could say the same.
But when Cody was asked to the bridge on the Negotiator as they headed back to Coruscant he felt something wasn't really right.
As he entered he noticed the bridge way mostly vacant with just Obi-wan standing with his back turned.
No matter where Cody saw him he always seem at ease and nothing changed that now. He’d have to learn how to be that stoic some day
The foot steps or other feelings Cody didn’t fully understand made Obi-wan turn and greet his marshal commander with a warm smile.
Normally in a time like this war the smile was almost a half smile but this reached out towards his whole face.
"General" Cody nodded as he came up and stood in front of him. “Something come up?”
"Ah Cody I do have some news for you."
Cody stood at attention now. It would seem odd if it was any bad news consisting of the war because of said smile and happy demeanor but Cody new better
"What is it sir?" Cody asked still perplexed.
"It's seem that when we arrive on Coruscant we will have a new padawan of our own."
A padawan? Why. Why why why why why? Cody stood frozen for a moment taking it all in, not that it was much just the idea shocked him.The flash backs of General Skywalker and all the other story's he's heard played in his head.
Cody snapped back to reality in a moment. "I- I'm not sure how the Jedi exactly work sir but didn't you already have a padawan."
Obi-wan stroked his beard for a moment. "Though Anakin was my padawan peculiar circumstances we have found ourselves in Cody, for now at least."
Cody nodded, before he could turn he saw the slight look Obi-wan gave him and then he said. "Your not happy with the choice?"
"No sir, I'm perfectly fine with it." Cody spat quickly, without saying anything more Obi-wan gave a small nod signaling he could leave.
Questions bombarded Cody. Why do they need another? He thought there battalion was perfectly capable. A kid? In the middle of a war like this. Of course Ahsoka was different but the 'peculiar circumstances' didn't make him feel any better. Even then someone like either of the two had no place in a hellbent war.
Cody stayed to himself for the remainder of the time, change was inevitable, and he knew that.
He felt the ship shake as they exited hyperspace and the familiarity of the planet made him feel a little more steady.
Obi-wan met at his side now, the rest of the 212th were behind as the ship was now in the hanger. Quite chatter was heard, mostly of ideas of what the boys could get into while they have just a small pit stop on Coruscant.
"I promise this won't go as terribly as you think commander." Obi-wan spoke quietly to him. "It could be a different pace for everyone."
Cody nodded. Thank the maker his bucket was on his head because it lessened the chance that Obi-wan could see how nervous... no over it he was.
Obi-wan was a lot to handle at time- not to mention when Anakin, or Ahsoka, or Fives and Echo, or Waxer and Boil, or…. Well this was going to be a lot.
Cody took a deep breath. The front of his mind screamed that they didn't need another jedi, better yet a padawan who he was not confident in the ability's. But the back, more dark part of his mind whispered quietly- what if something happens? The same fear he felt for his General and brothers now was starting to creep into his brain.
He hasn't even met the kid. He reminded himself, anything could happen.
As the ramp opened the large group took a few steps out. Already many of the men were either catching up with one another or someone else about the hanger.
At the edge stationed in front of a large door stood what appeared to be who Cody could recognize as Plo Koon, but the other not so much.
"Ah Obi-wan. Glad to see you again." He greeted cheerfully. "Commander, a pleasure as always."
Cody gave a low nod in return. He held major respect for the Jedi master that stood in front of him now. Wolffe spoke very highly of him.
"This gentleman is Y/N." He gestured as you made a small bow.
"Hi" You flashed a small grin at the two. Cody could almost recognize that look- if it was like the one Fives usually had on they all were in for a treat.
Great.
"Now Y/N where do you come from?" Obi-wan asked as he held out a hand for you to take.
Taking it you said. "Yavin 4, so it was quite the trip."
"Indeed in was." He flashed a small look at Cody, one he almost missed. "Well I'm assuming after a long day it would be a great idea to get something to eat."
"Indeed it would." You semi-mocked in a joking manner waiting for a good or bad reaction, but your eyes held a different story. One Cody wasn't sure he could read.
Obi-wan let out a small chuckle "I'll have to meet you in the mess in a few moments however, the temples requesting information about our latest battles but I'll be sure to join you when I'm done in the temple."
Obi-wan flashed one last look at Cody before walking off briskly with master Plo in tow.
Now it was just the two of you in the large hanger "I'm Cody." He said reaching out his own hand. He wouldn't do this to another other Jedi or general but it would be a tad uncomfortable if he didn't act like you were a normal person.
You took his hand gladly. "Nice to meet you Cody.. do you always wear that."
Cody almost wanted to roll his eyes and smile but reframed. "My armor yes, my helmet not so much." He unhooked his helmet quickly clicking it to his waist. "I'll show you the way to our mess hall."
You nodded and followed along. You stuck quite close when others seemed to crowd the hallway Cody noted. At least he'll never lose you.
He felt as your shoulder hit is torso once again.
Cody tried to promise himself a few things.
1. This was quite a waist of time- there was a chance you wouldn't even stay with their battalion
2. He could not let himself get attached. To many friends- brothers he cared for were marching on without him.
The new duo arrived at the mess now, chatter seemed to have quieted just a little bit- either to the fact that a marshal commander walked in or a young jeti that accompanied him.
He felt another bump slightly at his side again but the pressure stayed. He stared down at you for a moment taking it all in. Now most of the others stared at you too. Catching his glance you looked up at him nervously now.
Cody quickly cleared his throat. "Here this way is the food."
Tray in hand Cody scanned the area for an acceptable table for you too sit at. Some of his brothers wouldn't make your first day any easier than it was already going. Waxer and Boil sat at a far table, half of their kits still on... that was the better option Cody could find.
Wait why was he doing this? A marshal commander should be worrying about bigger things, not where the best place for you to sit is at the dinning hall.
Cody noticed a few thing, your food was gone in a recorded time beating boil himself. You fit in well with the two members of his squad which seemed to ease both of your nerves and Cody started to feel a little better about the situation.
Friendly chatter between you Boil, Waxer, and a few other brothers who were brave enough to come over too filled the mess around Cody.
He still wasn't keen on the situation but it was a start.
Cody slowly but surely started to warm up to you-
A few trainings together, meetings, studying, and even the first battle together.
-He realized that he was at a dangerous point. One he promised he wouldn’t get to. Cody was completely at your mercy. You could change the way he did things- his emotions. If anything happened to you Cody simply would be torn.
But Cody could be adaptable. He’d have too. To keep what he held dear to his heart.
Adaptable. He’s done it before.

FORCE SENSITIVE SABINE
I’ll be honest I’m a little dubious of Force Sensitive Sabine - if I remember correctly in the interview when Jon Favreau talks about it with Dave Filoni - Jon himself seemed pretty open to the idea while Dave did not.
So I’m wondering if the idea got pushed and it ended up happening even when the writers/producers/ creators didn’t agree.
Which actually makes it pretty confusing, because although the trailer (even the leaked con trailer where we see Sabine reaching towards her lightsaber on the ground like it would fly into her palm) kinda heavily implies she does in some way have some force sensitivity.
It’s just I don’t exactly understand how this could be the case and it not having been picked up on by Kanan, Ezra, or Ahsoka herself at the time when they first met.
I mean for all we know she’s not actually force sensitive, and she merely began dutiful lightsaber training with Ahsoka since those are hard to wield for non-force sensitives so heavy training would be required.
But that also begs the question of why Ahsoka left, and I kinda immediately assume it’s the same reason she said she can’t train Grogu.
Sabine is stubborn and she has abandonment issues, she’s out looking for Ezra and that’s her drive and that’s just not in line with the path.
The same path of the Jedi we see Sabine clearly trying to follow by listening to Ezra’s personal message to her (that message is not the same he left in rebels so we can only assume it’s separate).
Sabine even goes as far to cut her hair in the same way Kanan had when fully embracing himself as Jedi Caleb Dume - while I know apparently this is a mando custom when going into battle- that it might not have to do with Kanan at all - it does feel too similar to not be but again that’s just speculation on my part.
I do have one last thought on the force sensitivity, mainly on how she could have potentially got it if she randomly suddenly attained it because we know Ahsoka has some stuff going on with the world between worlds and the force gods - I know this sounds outlandish but in all honestly we can’t be sure what’s going on- I’m intrigued to find out.
All in all I can’t quite tell if I like the idea or not, personally I’m a little more in favor of her not, but there’s potential to come around.
I just feel she was special on her own, especially her wielding a saber without a lick of sensitivity and just her own prowess. Characters in Star wars shouldn’t have to be force sensitive to make them interesting, and Sabine clearly was interesting and capable on her own.
Those are my thoughts on the matter, feel free to kindly interact if you agree or disagree, and add some of your own thoughts.

📚📚?
Put “📓” or some other version of a book emoji into my inbox and I’ll explain the plot of a fanfiction that I haven’t written but daydream about.
Oh god okay this one is. So incredibly stupid and combines at least three different plots that I keep recycling (time-travel, rexwalker, Anakin's Gender/omegaverse). I also only came up with it last night so [shrug emoji].
Warnings: mpreg, arguable dubcon (the sex itself is fully consensual, but some of the motivations are kept secret for complicated reasons).
It's an omegaverse AU. Anakin's an omega, capable of pregnancy, and Rex is either alpha or beta. Probably alpha. The important part is that they're compatible.
Anakin and Rex were in a relationship during the war, alongside Anidala. Anakin really wanted to get pregnant, but it didn't really come up outside of Bedroom Games because, you know, there's a war on. A few times he begged, and Rex had to be the one to actually put his foot down about Not Now, because [gestures at Anakin's lack of responsible behavior when family is on the table/line].
Eventually, Padme gets pregnant with Anakin's kids, and RotS goes down basically as canon. Rex is devastated by the loss of his lover(s), does Rebellion work freeing brothers, etc.
Shit Happens. Rex finds out about Anakin being Vader. He and Ahsoka commiserate.
Time-travel! For lack of a better option, we'll blame the bird (Morai), and the not-Jedi (Ahsoka). Mental, so Rex is inhabiting his younger body. Bit weird. Ahsoka is also inhabiting her younger self, and largely Not Acknowledging the Anakin situation. She's letting Rex handle that part.
He and Anakin are still in love, as far as Anakin is concerned, and Rex still loves him, but... he can't forget Vader.
Rex himself is Acting Weird but Anakin's off doing Jedi things on Coruscant for the first couple days of Rex adjusting to when and where he is, so it's not super noticeable. Rex uses the time to plan.
The thing is. Anakin always made it 100% clear that he wanted babies. He wants to be pregnant. He wants to be filled up and used and then watch his belly fill out and start glowing and all that. He is into it, partly for kink reasons and partly because he's got a lot of neuroses about life and death and so on.
Rex only feels a little bad about it, when he 'bends' and lets Anakin ride him in heat without a barrier or any real birth control. He even provides a proper caveat (if Rex agrees to getting Anakin pregnant, then the Chancellor isn't allowed to know), repeatedly checks with Anakin that he's consenting to this, and then talks dirty to the point that Anakin nearly loses his mind. It ends, almost inevitably, in Anakin being pregnant. With twins.
(Rex probably knew about Padme's pregnancy. He probably guessed that Anakin's fall was for her sake, for her life. I'm not sure anyone told him the babies survived. Obi-Wan and Bail and Yoda might not have known about how deep his relationship with Anidala was. Rex doesn't know that the twins Anakin is having are the twins Padme would have carried. He hopes, though.)
The pregnancy is enough to distract Anakin from all the shit that's going on, even keeps him and Padme from doing things that could get her pregnant. Rex's plan, to get Anakin pregnant and distract him from going evil, works. It works phenomenally, and his contacts in the Corrie Guard and among the Senate pull together enough information to take Palpatine out of play.
Rex admits to Anakin that he's from the future, and that he agreed to getting Anakin pregnant (with babies that are by now born and a few months old) as a ploy to keep Anakin from falling to the Sith. Anakin is offended and generally hurt and overall really angry about Rex manipulating him like that. Padme is also hurt that Rex resorted to sexual trickery instead of just talking to them. Doesn't it cheapen the act of creation? Various other flowery accusations are thrown about. Anakin doesn't talk to Rex for a week.
Ahsoka finds Anakin and sits down and listens to him and Padme talk about how hurt they are. Then she explains what she knows (what she's put together) about how Anakin Fell the first time around. Explains the brain chips and the genocide and the burning of the Temple. Explains just how close Rex came to killing Ahsoka herself, his best friend. How he had to kill his own brothers. How he failed to save yet more. Ahsoka spends hours telling Anakin and Padme about how Rex was not the man they'd fallen for, but someone who'd been through a decade more of trauma, and was working off a level of paranoia and pain that they couldn't even begin to fathom, especially not when Rex could still see how much Anakin trusted Palpatine, and didn't have the clearest memory of these years, certainly not enough to know if Anakin would trust Rex's word over that of the Chancellor himself.
It's a heavy conversation. They take a few hours to mull it over after Ahsoka leaves, and then message Rex to come back. There's a long, heavy conversation that ends with kisses and cuddles, and the two of them extracting a promise from Rex to get some psychological help, which he only agrees to if Anakin does the same.
IDK I just think an AU where the world is saved by paranoia-induced pregnancy schemes with someone who wants it but doesn't know why their partner agreed are a special shade of fucked up fun.
Also, this was loosely inspired by the premise of @inferior-fairy's "[Only] Think of Me," which is a different ship but still has the delightful nonsense plot that is "get Anakin pregnant to keep him from doing stupid evil."

It makes me really sad sometimes just how much Anakin ruined Ahsoka.
Ahsoka is a good, kind person still, but as an adult she’s also a hypocrite without realizing it, personally loyal to a fault, and rejects the responsibility of teaching.
The entire plot with Grogu, that she not only decides Grogu cannot be taught (again), but that he doesn’t belong with other Jedi AT ALL. She won’t even take responsibility for him as a fellow Order 66 survivor. She doesn’t have to teach him Jedi ways to take him in and give him a good life. She doesn’t initially even want to send him to someone ELSE who might be a good teacher, she’s prepared to abandon Grogu to Din’s care instead, when Grogu himself seems to still be inclined to look for other Jedi.
That’s Anakin’s failure as a teacher coming out.
Because Anakin might have been capable of talking the talk, of giving Jedi philosophy as advice, but he also would have taught a lot of things to Ahsoka perhaps unintentionally by example. And Anakin’s example was, as noted during the Citadel arc, not generally the same as the advice he gave. Ahsoka learns personal loyalty to a fault from Anakin’s example. Ahsoka would have seen Anakin being a hypocrite quite often. She learns mistrust of the Council from Anakin, mistrust of the Jedi way from there.
So by the time we hit her reunion with Grogu, she’s rejecting TEACHING, a core component of being a Jedi, one of their primary responsibilities. And while she obviously doesn’t identify as a Jedi herself still at this point, they made a point of having an episode where she and Kanan seemingly agree to take care of and protect Force sensitive children in the galaxy, as the only ones left that they know of who even CAN. It’s up to them now. And with Kanan (and Ezra) gone, it’s up to her. And she refuses. She refuses to take responsibility for Grogu and sends him off with someone whose life is routinely dangerous just because Grogu’s mere presence triggers her trauma over Anakin’s bad choices.
Anakin’s failures ruin her. She learns the WORST lessons from his example and his betrayal of the Jedi pushes her even further into that mindset, a mindset she hasn’t fully let go of yet.
I’m so ready to see Ahsoka let go of Anakin in her show. So ready to see her let go of her guilt over his fall, so ready to see her reclaim her identity as a Jedi specifically BECAUSE she lets go of Anakin, just like we saw Obi-Wan do in his show.

some random shit about my rexwalker royal au (quick summary: anakin is the prince of tatooine and rex is a knight from kingdom kamino and a bastard of king jango fett) that make sense literally only to me and two or three of my friends who've read me venting about this for a few weeks because i miss rexwalker terribly and I Am Losing My Mind. also it's placed not in chronological order but in my i am being not normal order so i'm sorry if it's confusing i can't do better
• so in this au tatooine is a small kingdom with an extremely hot climate and it's basically a desert with some cities in it. it's a worldwide trading center tho and it is famous for the sand warriors - extremely skilled royal guards who use an unique combat technique (and, according to legends, some of them even mastered sandbendig). until crown prince anakin skywalker turns 21 the kingdom is ruled by queen regent shmi skywalker.
• kamino on the other hand is a not so small kingdom, like 80% of it's territory is covered in lakes and it has a lot of maritime borders and it's always raining there - so it's basically the complete opposite of tatooine. kamino is famous for its huge army and kamioan warriors are mostly known for their discipline and brilliant strategies. kamino is ruled by king jango fett who has a young son prince boba fett, heir of the kaminoan throne (jango also has two bastard sons who weren't given any last names but only first names cody and rex). king jango and the whole fett bloodline have strong ties (both family and diplomatic) with its neighbor kingdom mandalore, and being so tightly bonded with mandalorians kinda explains kaminoans' bellicose temper.
• obi-wan kenobi obviously is anakin's chief adviser and he basically holds the only braincell of the entire royal court of tatooine
• same for cody (rex's older brother) on kamino, he's the head of the royal guard and if king jango is fully capable of defending himself and doesn't need 24/7 supervision prince boba (age 12) Definitely Does. he has a tendency of messing with wrong people and getting in trouble and not being able to get out of it by himself so cody is kind of a babysitter more then he is a knight
• ahsoka tano, in her turn, is a sand warrior and the head of tatooine's royal guard but also kinda of just prince anakin's personal bodyguard. she and anakin have know each other since he was a baby prince and she was a baby menace so, in lack of any other royal siblings, anakin just treats ahsoka like his little sister and like she's royalty as well.
• when rex comes to tatooine (on diplomatic mission as royal family of kamino's representer of course not to visit his secret prince fiance) he and ahsoka bond IMMEDIATELY. they spar almost all the time and they both are madly curious to learn each other's kingdom's fighting style and anakin just sits on tribune whining how bored he is with all of their knight stuff (tho it was him who taught ahsoka how to fight before she became a sand warrior but he can't participate in silly goofy knights' sparrings anymore since he is going to be a fucking king in a few months and he must maintain his royal attitude)
• after the sparring ahsoka is sitting in anakins royal chambers like damn that kamino guy of yours is an amazing warrior you should like marry him and anakin makes the saddest puppiest puppy eyes one has ever seen bitch i'm TRYING
• codywan are penpals and they constantly complain to each other about how hard it is to babysit princes and to pretend that they don't know why his royal highness prince anakin of skywalkers and cody's younger brother rex travel to each other's countries every couple of months
• they barely saw each other but if you ask obi-wan's opinion he'd tell you that cody is the hot sibling
• due to extreme climate and HIGH risk of death on tatooine there is literally no such thing as a bastard and a royal kid is a royal kid so when anakin learns that king jango has several kids he just assumes that there are at least three princes of kamino: prince cody, prince rex and prince boba and when he first sees rex of course he calls him prince rex fett. rex freezes and thinks that anakin is just making fun of him because that's what kids in knights' academy used to call him as a joke so his answer is 'i am no fett and i am definitely no prince'. that was an awkward ass first interaction so anakin will have to make up for it by making rex a king instead of prince
• prince anakin and prince boba can't stand each other for the most ridiculous reasons (mostly it's just anakin acting so bitchy about boba being and prince and rex not being a prince) and it's really funny to see a whole ass 20yo almost-king holding back to not to kill a 12yo boy for saying that his sword is 'mid'
• anakin was ready to marry rex after a week of knowing him because this is just how it works in his kingdom you see someone pretty and nice and they most definitely like you back and you grab them and marry them before they die in a sandstorm
• ...while rex was SO unsure about all this he couldn't believe that the fucking future king fancies him that his intentions are serious that he's so hot & respectful that his eyes are so deep and his skin is so smooth despite the climate in his desert kingdom and blah blah blah so anakin was just being his charming self and he waited and waited and waited with no pressure on rex and rex was falling for him and falling for him and falling for him so eventually he reciprocated and they started dating and got engaged and lived happily ever afte-
• anakin wasn't getting rex any expensive presents while he was courting him and they weren't in a relationship yet because he didn't want rex to feel pressured or like he owns something to him BUT what anakin was getting him are desert roses. they literally don't cost anything they just lie all around tatooine's desert but for rex who spent all his life on the lakes of kamino it's the most beautiful and exotic thing in the world and it's priceless for him
• anakin is crazy about flowers because there is literally aren't any flowers in his home kingdom. once he saw rex with flower wreath some village kid put on his head he became literally OBSESSED with the idea of rex wearing a flower wreath or a flower crown to their wedding
• anakin doesn't know how to swim. at all. he and rex go on a little hike to the famously beautiful lakes of kamino so they can just have their tet-a-tet time kiss in a clover field sleep in a tent fence jokingly and since anakin can't swim they just sit in the lake among water lilies and the water level barely covers their feet i am sorry this is my #1 romantic fantasy i can't be normal about the water lilies thing (my wife even illustrated this, check her drawing out)
• anakin always takes some water lilies or other flowers to tatooine when it's time for him to leave rex and kamino and he tries to keep the flowers alive but they all dry out on like a second day there so he just keeps a lot of dry flowers so they would remind him of rex
• when rex first comes to tatooine they are already in some sort of relationship and they obviously share a bed so they kuddle after a long day of exploring the capital and anakin's palace and rex just looks so annoyed and tired and anakin is like it's okay if you don't like it here this climate isn't friendly for foreigners at all and i totally understand if you want to go h- and rex's like beloved your kingdom is beautiful and i love it but there is so much sand in my ass rn
• # and they both hated sand... and they both were soon-to-be-kings of tatooine
p.s. it's funny that as much as i know in tbobf boba eventually became some kind of ruler of tatooine... he's just like his bro rex fr

A/N: It's no problem at all @alittletoobsessedwithclonewars, this was... way... way too much fun.
Tumblr media
So long Seppies, better luck next life.
Seriously though. You know how you said you were a menace to society? Yeah. You with Anakin? Take that, and multiply it by cancer.
All semi-references aside, to say that you are chaotic is an understatement. While you both get the job done, you certainly do so in style.
...If by style you mean getting your ship shot, spiraling out of control, crash-landing on a planet, and having to wipe out hoards of droids in order to steal a new one.
You know. The usual.
It's well known on both sides of the war that statistically speaking? When you get Anakin, you're going to be trailing not too far behind.
This is either a good thing... or a bad one. Depends on who's doing the paperwork.
A lot of people just assume that you and the general are close friends, but some people do have their suspicions.
He'd definitely try and drag you on as many missions as possible regardless of your status because it means he can keep an eye on you and keep you safe. He's fairly protective by nature, and it means he gets quality time with his significant other, so to him? It's a win.
That said? I wouldn't be surprised if a few arguments arose between you both because of the missions he doesn't want you going on with him because it's "too dangerous."
We've seen it platonically with Ahsoka, and several times with Padme, so it's safe to say he dislikes when the risk is a little too high for you. If you're capable of protecting yourself it certainly eases his heart a tad- double that if you're force sensitive- but that doesn't stop his anxieties. That said, you'll probably have similar concerns for him, so you'll both have that to look forward to.
Anakin will almost always make a game out of missions with you. He's well known for droid kill count competitions with his padawan- but you make them more entertaining.
Your easy-going nature is something he admires, and before you were together it was definitely something that drew him to you.
He's charismatic by nature, but seeing someone who's fully capable of getting along with him, his padawan, his master, AND his troops is a sight and a half. Talk about a fast pass to earning brownie points.
Mischievous as you are, that gremlin energy was also a major factor in why he liked you. You clicked almost immediately.
Creativity comes in many facets, and whether it's doodling in a sketchbook or... less than orthodox methods of getting things done? He finds it endearing.
Any time he can get alone time with you, he'll take it. Believe me when I say that he'll listen to you ramble about anything for hours. Sometimes the things you come up with absolutely baffle him.
Hope you like cuddling and physical forms of affection, because he certainly does. Messing with your hair, hugs, kisses, the whole nine yards. He gets what he can, and if you think he isn't going to attempt to steal kisses while people aren't looking, you're wrong.
Of course, he'd still respect any boundaries you set in that regard- that's a given. If PDA isn't your thing he'll tone it down, but best know that if that's one of your only gripes about it all he'll be pulling you somewhere private as soon as possible.
100% makes jokes about you being a hazard to society. Hypocrite.
Anakin has stolen your beanie more than once. He doesn't wear it, but he does carry it, and if I had to describe the urge in a nutshell? His obsession with that thing is very much the phenomenon of "If not there to take, why hat?"
If you happen to be shorter than this 6'2, force-sensitive gremlin? Good luck with getting it back because he is not afraid to use your height against you.
Makes you chase him to get it sometimes. He finds it fun. Part of his charm, I suppose.
This was a thing even before you were an item. He stole it in front of Obi-Wan, and the poor man just shook his head and sighed as he watched you book it after him in a desperate attempt to get it back.
He keeps a mental tally of how many times he's kept it from you versus how many you've successfully stolen it back from him. Will argue against you getting a point if he was "distracted" by someone else when you got it, but you and he both know who the winner really was.
Would absolutely adore it if you gave him a keepsake he could wear out on missions when he was away from you. Don't think you'll be conning him into wearing a beanie with his robes anytime soon though.
Has definitely sent one of his boys to give you a gift disguised as something important for a mission, when in reality it was probably something goofy he snagged on one of his trips without you.
This has happened a few times, but I like to think at least one of these 'mystery gifts' was a beanie, or something similar.
If you wear it'll give him a confidence boost that he'll be riding for weeks.
Might need to bully him just a little bit afterward, to knock his ego down a few pegs. /j
Anakin's absolutely enamored with you. He loves giving his beloved boyfriend compliments whenever he can... to the degree that having to disguise the loving nature of them in public mildly annoys him.
He has thought about ditching the order a few times for you, but is also torn because of his sense of duty to his men, the Jedi, and the people of The Republic.
Don't think he won't be planning every aspect of life with you after the war. He will. Both with and without you. It's a hobby of his that helps him get by. He's down to go just about anywhere if it's to live with you, home planet, or otherwise.
Just keep him away from sand. It's course, it's rough, and its irritati-
He's really big on open, honest communication between the both of you, so you're free to talk to him about just about anything without judgment.
Like you though, he does have some anger issues, so you may have to dissuade him from doing anything rash and vice versa. I like to think that you both could balance each other well in this aspect.
But if you both get angry together good luck to anyone on the other side of that charade. By the force-
The theater kid aspect could enter the playing field in a number of ways depending on what role you played in theater- ex: minor actor, major actor, set designer, lighting and sound tech, etc.
The first two could help when it comes to keeping things on the down low so people don't know he isn't breaking the code. Set stuff is tricky but it gives you points in the technical category and any edge you have in that department could come in handy, what can I say?
Maybe for once the Master... at being caught isn't Anakin. Perhaps you've played the role a few times. Who knows?
If that were the case, Anakin would have been mildly grouchy during and after the fact. You? In enemy territory? Without a weapon? Alone? Absolutely not.
He's gotta admit though, you fooling the enemy or executing any successful strategy never ceases to impress him.
He's always so proud. Salty if you're ever at risk, but proud nonetheless.
100% will drop anything to help you with your anxieties, no hesitation. Need something? Wanna talk? Need him to get you away from a place or certain people? You got it. He's head over heels, so if you name it? You've got it.
Y'all are too. Damn. Cute.

A/N: I'm stopping myself here because if I go on for too long, I'll be up all night. I feel like I was only scraping the bottom of the barrel here, but by the force was it fun. I read your request and knew that you and Anakin would click immediately. I felt it in my bones, man. Request again anytime, and let me know if there's anything I missed or something you'd like to hear more about. May the force be with you, and may your day be as wonderful as the ocean's abyss is deep. Thanks for reading.
If you're new here, I take requests. You can find my rules here.

Okay okay okay, Rebels thoughts:
I think Kanan and Ezra are the best depiction of a mentor and student in the whole series. The movies never have enough time to really develop that relationship, and even in the other long running cartoon Ahsoka felt more like an intern than a student most of the time
Kanan in general is one of the most compelling Jedi, because he carries this very real self-doubt about how good of a teacher he can be. He's very much not a strict adherent of the Jedi code, and I think that makes him a better teacher and a better friend because he allows himself to care. His development after he's blinded into someone more centered and reserved was good, and he didn't give up what made him him in that process. I do think it probably shouldn't have been so easy for him to overcome his lack of sight, but I do appreciate that even with the force he still has to adjust to things, like not being able to see distant objects that others easily can
Zeb very easily could've been a grating character, but I think they dodged that by making him a caring person under the prickly exterior. He takes responsibility when he messes up, and he knows how to turn it off when it's not the time
Sabine! I heard some pretty mixed stuff about her before I started the show but I'm not sure why? I think her arc of coming to terms with how she was tricked into doing something that hurt her people really landed, especially since she wasn't an adult who should've known better like most scientists who inadvertently build horrific weapons. Another W for Mandalorians
Chopper is truly unhinged
Hera is good, but I think she probably needed a couple more arcs! She's the glue that holds the team together, but she also feels the least developed out of all of them.
The inquisitors were fine, they felt like more of a real threat than most antagonists in the clone wars but were really just completely flat
Darth Vader though. God. Not only is this the best he's ever looked but he really does feel like this unstoppable force when he gets a walker dropped on him and just shrugs it off. He's used sparingly and it is weird how he doesn't ever show up again after season 2, but I think he's used really well for the time he is there
Speaking of, the buildup to Ahsoka and Vader's confrontation is. so good. She knows deep down who he is, but can't bring herself to believe it until she sees his fave for herself, because how could the person she trusted and admired be capable of that? And he wouldn't be, but it's like Vader keeps saying -- Anakin is dead. Any issues I have with this are less the show's fault and more RotS's for making Anakin's characterization feel like nonsense, so I'm not holding that against it
I'm not sure if they planned it from the start because he feels very 1 dimensional in the first season but Kallus actually had a competently handled defector arc? Like one where they laid the foundation and made it believeable? Hux could never.
Thrawn is great, obviously. He's got such a threatening presence that you just know the air gets colder when he walks into the room. He's got a respect for the rebels and the people the empire is subjagating that nobody else seems to, but rather than making him less of a threat it only makes him more dangerous! I think they needed to push him just a tiny bit further, give us just a bit more of a glimpse behind the curtain to really make him fully three dimensional, but what's there is good nonetheless
It's cool to see the force at work outside the main factions in the form of Bendu and the Lothwolves! We're always told the force permeates everything but we're rarely shown it in a way where it genuinely feels like a natural part of the world
I do not like the World between Worlds. Something like that needed more buildup, and to just say "time travel exists!" and then shove it into a corner forever 2 episodes later feels like wack pacing. If it was a contrivance to bring Ahsoka back I'd get it, but they already showed her alive after that fight so it just felt pointless? It also could've explained why she wasn't involved in the original trilogy at all, but it didn't do that either. It did help Ezra process his grief but there are other ways that could've been done. Also wild that the Mortis family was relevant again. Anyways, I think it totally messed up the pacing of the endgame devoting episodes to this.
Maul was more engaging here than he's ever been, but it sort of felt like they didn't know what to do with him? His role as a foil to Kanan was interesting, but his story ended so abruptly that I'm not quite sure what the point was.
Rex c: That's my guy! Him being around facilitated some very good closure for the clone war (the in universe event), but I would've been happy just having him around even if it hadn't.
Ezra has probably the most real feeling brush with the dark side out of any Jedi -- he wants to protect hus planet and the people on it, and doesn't care where the power to do that comes from, or the toll it will take on him. That's real! That's powerful! He deals with loss, and pain, and grief in a very human way, but he holds on to compassion the whole time despite it, because he remembers what it felt like for someone to look out for him and wants to make sure everyone else can feel that too
Thanks for reading my dissertation

You know what's sad? Is it is incredibly easy to create a long list of male Star wars characters I like, but it's much harder to do so for female characters.
Because the list of female characters with actual character is already small, and because I want to like the characters for their character, rather than the fact that there a named female stars character, the list is short.
And okay, the fact that a large number of characters in the male list are clones, and clones are 99.99% male (omega) does go somewhat towards explaining it.
You never really hear Star wars characters saying anything about gender stereotypes or women being less capable or whatever, so it makes it even weirder that the gender ratio is so skewed. Even the Jedi council is predominantly men.
I guess it's like that one study that shows men but also some women tend to see groups that are 40% women as being dominated by women.
And with Obi-Wan and Anakin running around fridging half of the female characters to your left with such a small amount. (God, even steela Guerrera and kalifa were fridged for Ahsoka, while all her male friends -Lux, Korkie, omer, jinx,etc- survived their episodes, correct me if I'm wrong)
No, you're absolutely right. SW in general has a really, really bad habit of killing off female characters first and foremost. It honestly astonished me that Omera and Bo-Katan survived the episodes of The Mandalorian they were in. I fully expected them to get murdered to give Din a character moment.

Soooo unpopular thought but hear me out pls?
Soft Vader is my biiig guilty pleasure and I know it's not all that popular because people remember Vader as this big, menacing, douchebag-y presence when that's not really canon at all. Canonically, Vader/Anakin tends to completely give himself to the person he's currently latched onto. Shmi, Obi-Wan & Ahsoka, Padme, Sidious, Luke were all people who cared for him, or who he perceived as caring for him (stares at P*lpatine), and that's exactly how he acted with all of them. So it makes sense for him to respond to Y/N's feelings the exact same way, with undying love, and utter submission - in his own, special sense of the word. And I think that could translate well into the sex life with Y/N as well. When his health gets better and he heals enough for it, I think he wouldn't mind pegging or bottoming at all. Sub or power bottom Vader sounds so nice, letting Y/N have a go and encouraging them through the whole thing, maybe provoking them just to make sure they enjoy themselves as much as possible. Maybe trapping them on the bed beneath himself and watching them lose all control between those large ass thighs of his. Maybe, when he's feeling mean, having them beg for release as he moves up and down on them, in the exact same steady rhythm with no mercy. QwQ
DONT WORRY ANON I DO HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR
Thus is actually what im kinda going for when I write for Vader. I like to think with the right person, they're able to crack through the shell that is "Vader" and reach Anakin underneath and THATS what makes Vader fall in love with them. Around y/n hes allowed to not be menacing and scary for a good long while and its a really big relief for him. But along with that, everyone hes ever loved HAS either died or abandoned him in some way; so whole he devotes himself to his newest s/o, he's also fully willing and capable of defending them to the bitter end.
IM SORRY I GOT OFF TOPIC,,
I see where you're coming from with him being submissive though! I think with enough time and patience with him he would be open to the idea of bottoming for his s/o, but after a GOOD long while. Bro is really emo and needs a lot of reassurance 🚶🚶 youd definitely have to let him come to you abt it tho bc if YOURE the one to ask it might hurt his pride LMAO

In Mike Chen's novel he describes how young Obi's youthful enthusiasm was intoxicated by Satine's pacifist ideals and such but it's bs. Like, they try to tell you a story by piggy-back riding back and forth on other's stories and make it look compelling while in turn it ends up nothing but inconsistent and greatly OOC. TCW was another proof of that alone. Writers it seems are just writing for the sake of milking as much money as they can and what better way to do it than to shit on one of SWs most beloved characters, but NO the most important thing is Obi Wan HAS to have hundred love interests, be it legends or canon. Im so sick of writers atp. Movies and novel and TCW Obi Wan are like 3 different people most of the time. If i say i will take movies only as my canon then so be it, after all. Obi Wan being gay or even pansexual fits his character wayyy more than whatever heteronormative writers have "made" him out to be.
I totally get being frustrated by the state of publishing, and it is absolutely a great idea to take only the movies as canon!! I fully support this.
But I do want to say this in defense of the novel writers: it's not their fault. I think Disney is doing this thing they do where they hire a bunch of women, poc, and queer people who aren't established authors so that they can say they're seeking out "new voices", but then they sabotage those writers. Disney gets a good deal: they probably don't have to pay an unpublished queer woman as much as they would have to pay for the kinds of established white male sci fi authors who used to write Star Wars novels. It changes their market; tons of girls who read YA will buy these books, which seems to me (as a former librarian) a bigger market than the market of people who buy hard sci fi novels. And culturally speaking, hiring these kinds of authors silences complaints about the writing, because if I say "I hate the lesbian storyline in Ahsoka" or "I hate the writing in Mike Chen's Brotherhood" then it sounds like I'm the one who doesn't want diversity in Star Wars, that I'm ungrateful, and that Disney is too progressive for me lmao.
So I don't blame the authors. How are they sabotaged by Disney, you ask? Rushed deadlines I'm sure, a deplorable lack of editing support, and also the thing you're talking about: the task of not only writing a book, but having to work in propaganda to legitimize the new regime. I'm sure they are rewarded for having tie-ins to TCW or whatever new show is being released next.
I think it's totally valid to separate versions of characters and stick with one you like (though if you're splitting those hairs, then there's probably different characters between novels as well.) Personally, I enjoy the puzzle of finding the common denominators between all versions and settling on those as core character traits. I don't worry about the plot points, because those do change so much depending on who you ask, but it's super fun for me to imagine the Obi-Wan character that fits in Jedi Apprentice AND The Clone Wars, in Padawan AND Rogue Planet, in A New Hope AND the ROTS novelization. It's comforting to me that there are some common denominators: he maintains a calm demeanor, he senses/is anxious about future events, he has a wry and careful sense of humor, he thinks more than he talks, he is lonely, he is capable of suppressing his will in order to follow rules, he is self-sacrificing, and he does not think as highly of himself as others think of him.

ꕥ — WELCOME TO NEFE COSMIA, AHSOKA TANO. 🌓
Tumblr media
ꕥ  — OOC INFORMATION;
name / alias: blair / mouse age: 25 pronouns: any ooc contact: tumblr @thievesway
ꕥ  — IC INFORMATION;
name: Ahsoka Tano age: 18 pronouns: she/her series: Star Wars canon point: post-order 66, after her arrival on Raada
app triggers: war, general violence & death
personality: Ahsoka was given the nickname “Snips,” for her attitude and inclination for snippy remarks. Although she still has a fondness for some back and forth banter with the right company, she’s grown to become extremely mature. While at times standoffish for the sake of caution, Ahsoka’s immense empathy always ends in her becoming friendly with others and growing to care for them. Her headstrong disposition and strong ideals, tends to prevent her from staying idle for too long.
something your muse struggles with: Ahsoka struggles deeply with her sense of identity. After leaving the Jedi Order, she begins to question all that she is, since life as a Jedi was all she knew prior. your muse’s greatest strength: What has also served as a weakness many times in the past, her fearlessness remains to be her greatest strength. Ahsoka is always willing to take risks and face things head on, no matter how much uncertainty surrounds a situation.
history / background:
Born with a great sensitivity to the Force, Ahsoka Tano is an alien Togruta who was taken as a child to be raised and trained in the ways of the Jedi. As an exceptionally fast learner, and powerful student, she was promoted early, to be the padawan of Anakin Skywalker at the age of 14. With the Clone Wars underway, Ahsoka’s training under Anakin was vastly hands-on, acting as a Commander in Anakin’s platoon to fight alongside the war as a Jedi peacekeeper.
In fighting for the freedom of the Galactic Republic’s people, Ahsoka continued to learn and grow, in hopes of becoming a great Jedi Knight after her training as a padawan. However, when she ends up being framed for acts of terrorism and murder, the Jedi Council turns their back on her and expels her from the Jedi Order in favor of maintaining their political ties to the Republic. While Anakin eventually proves the innocence of his beloved padawan, and Ahsoka is asked to return to the Order, the trauma of the ordeal leaves her feeling disillusioned with the Jedi Order. Not knowing if she can trust them again, or herself for being a part of the Order, Ahsoka makes the decision to not return at all, completely leaving behind her life as a Jedi.
Although no-longer a Jedi, she eventually finds her resolve to continue the fight for peace on her terms because of her strong beliefs in doing what is right no matter the cost.
powers / abilities:
Force Sensitivity — The Force is a form of energy that exists in everything and binds all together. Being sensitive to the Force allows Ahsoka to harness its power to use in a multitude of ways.
Telekinesis: Through the use of the Force, Ahsoka can manipulate and move physical matter in a multitude of ways.
Mind Tricks: The ability to influence the thoughts and actions of weak-minded individuals who are unable to resist the Force’s power.
Force Visions: Through the form of dreams, Ahsoka is able to have visions of the future. Although, while never fully clear, by meditating on them, she may be able to gain more insight on her visions.
Force Sense: Through the force, Ahsoka is capable of sensing a variety of things. Impending danger, the presence of another person nearby, or the emotions of another are all forms of force sense that she can use. However, even with these heightened abilities, using the force to sense things is something that is never fully under her control.
Animal Kinship: The ability to connect mentally with animals, allowing one to tame and command them.
inherent abilities:
Biosonar — The montrals, or horn-like organs, on her head are native to her species. They are hollow and allow her to sense the movement of objects around her from up to 80ft.
Increased Eyesight — Togruta are able to see distances that would be too far for the average human eye.
Combat Training — Ahsoka is skilled in various forms of both hand-to-hand combat, and a variety of saber styles.
items / weapons:
Lightsabers  —  shut uuuuuuuuuuup!! Everyone knows what a freakin lightsaber is goddamn!! She has two; a standard saber and short blade known as a “Shoto.” They are similar in length to a katana and wakizashi respectively.
Joben T-85 speeder bike — a crappy ass hoverbike that's engine is begging to be put out of its misery already.
starting ability: you will give ahsoka her force abilities starting item: n/a
extra:
Togruta being carnivorous is so freakin awesome to me
discord id: snips#5165
passcode: i will give ahsoka her force abilities

My hot starwars take is Din is not a good father. Keeping a child physically alive is not enough to be a good parent. I believe he loves Grogu, but when people say that he's good with kids, I want to crawl out of my skin. Some random guy from desert is more worried about Grogu's mental wellbeing than Din. Grogu doesn't get colds, he can eat anything, imagine if it was a human toddler, he would be dead under Din's care.
Din treats Grogu more like a pet than a baby for a lot of the show. And yeah, it's adorable and funny, but realistically Grogu wasn't getting raised very well. That becomes even clearer when we learn, in season 2, that HE'S BEEN CAPABLE OF COMMUNICATION ALL ALONG. He's not an infant, he's something closer to a kindergartener fully capable of articulating his name, needs, wants, opinions, memories, etc. He WANTS to be understood, hence his long talk with Ahsoka. Din just had no idea how to even begin to understand him. And that's not his fault, he can't use the Force so obviously he didn't know any better, but Grogu still deserves to have a caretaker capable of understanding him and meeting his unique developmental needs as a Force sensitive child. Din can't even meet the most basic ones a lot of the time.
And I think Din knows that he's not what Grogu needs, he's not someone that can protect Grogu (considering all the times he's been kidnapped or hurt or put in dangerous situations), and he can't give Grogu the life he deserves. And that's why he returns Grogu to his people. Grogu also knows he's better off with Luke, so that's why he chooses to let go of his attachment to Din and return to the culture and way of life that was stolen from him by Order 66.
I love Din, I love his bond with Grogu and I'd never downplay all his sacrifices, but he's not the guardian Grogu needs. Grogu is a Jedi who needs to be with his people in order to thrive.

Clone genetic enhancement ideas
So the clones were genetically enhanced, but i don’t really see any writers (in fanfic or in published stuff) really exploring what that MEANS beyond “clone very stronk”. Here are some ideas that would actually make clones significantly different from just a regular-ass human in peak condition.
-enhanced senses: eyesight, hearing, etc. I’m talking eyes like a HAWK
-better reflexes
-quicker information processing
-can hear sounds of higher and lower frequency than standard humans
-can see light of a broader spectrum than human standard
-learn quicker, retain information and skills better (potential problem: if you learn something the WRONG way, that way might stick really well)
-photographic memory (really useful for memorizing layouts and maps)
-immunity to various diseases
-can tolerate a wider range of temperatures and environments
-increased stamina and strength baseline. Clones can just run full-tilt for hours and hours and be like “ah a nice stroll”. Over long distances, they can out-pace jedi in the same way that humans can out-pace horses.
-higher tolerance of certain poisons/toxins (clones can straight-up drink ethanol, and get maybe a little tipsy)
-bodies respond quickly to physical stress, and slowly to the absence of it (basically, this means that physical conditioning results in stronger muscles and a stronger cardiovascular system really quickly, and it takes MUCH longer for a clone to lose strength and conditioning due to not exercising than standard humans. Think how much valuable training time is saved if they only have to go on a run like, once a month in order to stay in shape)
-increased ability to function through intense pain and acute injuries. Basically, semi-disabling the pain system so it’s less distracting. Probably not good for the survival of the individual in many situations, but an advantage on the battlefield.
-heal faster and better, with fewer long-term complications. Clones can dislocate their shoulders and NOT have the joint be permanently fucked up, because the Kaminoans re-designed the whole damn thing to suck WAY less.
-actually, unique internal anatomy. There’s probably a lot about the human body besides the shoulder joint that is actually just really stupid, and something no intelligent designer would actually build. So the Kaminoans can fix a lot of that stuff. Better knees, maybe. Stronger ribs. Maybe Cody punches droids not just because he’s a mad bastard, but also because his metatarsals are literally as strong as steel.
-Hearing loss/hearing damage? No problem, your ear can regrow those little hair-thingies that help you hear.
-Of course, it takes energy to maintain muscle mass, which is why human bodies lose it if we’re not using it. Clones need significantly more calories than standard humans. However, their digestive systems are enhanced to extract calories and nutrients from food much more efficiently, so food goes much farther. Potential weird side effect: maybe clones only have to poop like, once a week?
-You could probably extend that into increased ability to tolerate long periods without food/on low rations, despite the increased need for calories.
-wouldn’t it be NEAT if the kaminoans somehow designed self-repairing DNA. This would mean that others couldn’t take a DNA sample from a clone and modify it to create their own clones (basically, it protects their product. It’s like DRM for clones). This ALSO means that clones couldn’t get cancer, and that they’d be immune to radiation poisoning. So a clone could just walk up to a sphere of uranium at critical mass and pick it up. Maybe with oven mitts on if it’s hot. (this would also make it harder for a rapid-aging cure to be developed, but uhhhh fanfic writers find a way)
- “bred for obedience” I think most of this would have to be accomplished through tightly-controlled messaging and cultural norms as the clones grow up- basically, enshrining obedience as a desirable and almost sacred trait, to be prized higher than anything else, including the lives of your brothers. In the same way that we hear stories of people sacrificing their lives to protect their loved ones, the clones would grow up hearing stories of soldiers sacrificing their brothers’ lives to obey an order from a superior.
-SOME of the “obedience” thing could be engineered, though. Humans are already super social, but it would probably make sense for the clones to have an even greater need for social bonds. This would make for greater teamwork and coordination, and better unit cohesion, since the clones would be more inclined to prioritize friendship/agreeing with someone over winning an argument. It would also make it so they’d bond with their natural-born generals more easily, so they would obey them not just because they’re supposed to, but because they’d be much quicker to see them as a friend, and someone who’s trust they want to earn, someone they want to incorporate into their group and make happy.
-consequently, clones who find themselves alone do NOT do well. Isolation has a much more profoundly negative impact on clones than on regular humans.
-Originally, clones designed to operate alone or in small teams would not have the social enhancement- ARC troopers, spec-ops teams, etc. There wouldn’t be much of a noticeable difference in everyday interactions, but they’d also be vaguely weirded out by what they interpret as aggressive friendliness from their brothers, and their brothers would think they’re a bit shy and standoffish.
-actually this social modification would make it MUCH harder for clones to kill people. REGULAR HUMANS are already super bad at killing people- i remember reading this article about how as soon as soldiers have to point their weapons at actual people, their aim gets mysteriously much shittier. Even when compared to situations that are exactly the same, except they’re not shooting at other humans. So reconcile this how you will, idk.
-I imagine a lot of these enhancements would be accomplished not through DNA, but through microorganisms. Retroviruses could explain the DNA resistant to modification, and the increased healing speed, and possibly some disease resistance (do i know anything about retroviruses other than a vague concept of what they are? no i do not. will that stop me? also no.) Their metabolism can be partially explained through specially engineered gut microbes.
-not sure how they’d go about making clones “resistant to any stress”, because you can’t exactly turn off the trauma response in the brain without breaking a bunch of other things. They could probably do a bit of fiddling to make clones more resistant to chemical imbalances, and therefore more depression-resistant. I think most of the “stress-resistance” would have to come through training. Either they train the clones to basically suppress everything, which might work alright in the short term. OR they actually have systems in place that help prevent the development of things like PTSD and help treat trauma. Meaning the clones are literally trained in self-care, positive self-talk, talking about their pain with their brothers, and having community rituals around things like death and grief. I don’t think that’s super likely because one thing that’s integral to those concepts is the concept of “i am a person and i have worth, and if i feel angry about something bad happening, that is ok and valid” and considering that a whole lot of bad things happen to the clones all the time and their childhood is a whole boatload of bad all happening at once, i don’t think the kaminoans would want the clones realizing “hey wait a minute i’m a person and i don’t deserve to be treated this way and it’s ok for me to be mad at you”.
- the clones were supposedly engineered to be “less aggressive” but i think there was literally nothing more to that than a cover story for the control chip. The clones wouldn’t be raised with a lot of the aggressive western concept of masculinity, where anger is the default reaction to like, everything, and your personal pride is extremely important and also fragile (no offense lmao). So you wouldn’t have clones posturing and getting angry over perceived slights and fighting each other all the time, like everyone in-universe apparently expects to be the case. Anyway, why would you want your soldiers to be less aggressive? they’re literally supposed to fight and kill the enemy. You want them fully capable of getting angry, anger is the human response to fear and danger that lets us DO something about it.
-obviously the biggest component in how they behave would be how they are raised, but that’s an entirely different post
-Specializations! I imagine that initially, the Kaminoans had different clones with different traits engineered specifically to fill certain roles. However, as the war went on, they struggled to keep up with demand and had to start shoving clones into whatever roles were needed (hence Fives and Echo becoming ARCs, despite not being engineered as ARC troopers).
-Command clones would have better abilities in the executive function parts of the brain that deal with extrapolation, planning ahead, spatial reasoning, etc. They’d also have increased visual pattern recognition (like a pigeon)
-search-and-rescue troops would also have the pigeon pattern recognition abilities. The coast guard literally strapped pigeons to helicopters who would tap a button when they saw orange in the water, because they were better at spotting it than humans. Pigeons can detect cancer in microscope images of cells, because they’re that good at pattern recognition
-Pilots would have hella reflexes, excellent spatial awareness and spatial reasoning skills, much greater ability to process visual information, stronger hearts and blood vessels (to resist greater Gs of force), and they’d also be much shorter, to better fit into a cockpit. Which reminds me of Axe, that poor bastard from Ahsoka’s squadron over Ryloth who was almost eight feet tall. rip poor Axe, how did you even become a pilot, you long bastard.
-medics who can smell certain diseases. If you want to get a little bit out there, make the medics able to purr so they can sooth stressed-out patients.
-infantry would have even greater endurance than everyone else, as well as greater tolerance for, and ability to, remain constantly on alert.
-ability to fall asleep at will? that would be super dope.
-maybe more efficient sleep, so to an adult clone, 4 hours of sleep is genuinely sufficient.
-concept: clones can sort of turn down their bodily functions- slow their digestion, heart, lungs, the whole nine yards- to last longer in adverse conditions. Sort of a half-hibernation (or quarter hibernation- they’d still be able to talk and think, but they’d feel very lethargic). They wouldn’t be able to function very well, but it would be great for things like enduring intense cold, periods without food, low-oxygen environments, and it would be especially useful if you were wounded and waiting for help, since you could slow your circulation, meaning it would take you a lot longer to bleed out. This state could be triggered by a combination of physical actions such as sitting or lying still, breathing slowly and deeply, and focusing on slowing the heart down (humans can actually slow down their hearts consciously if you practice at it, this is basically that, but turned up to like 1100).
-one thing that never made sense to me was the whole “we’re running out of jango fett’s DNA, all the new clones won’t be as good, and we have to stop ventress from stealing the original DNA” because like, can’t they just, get the EXACT SAME DNA from the clones?? you know, the exact genetic copies? With all the enhancements already done? But now my idea is that the kaminoans have engineered the clones so their DNA straight up can’t be copied. The clone’s own body can obviously replicate it, but if you take a sample and try to extract the DNA, it just self-destructs or something. This is to protect their intellectual property, but also means that they literally have to use a couple of Jango Fett’s actual human cells for every single clone they make (and the fact that they then have to do all the above enhancements to every single embryo helps explain why there’s so many small mutations, such as hair color and height). So they kinda shot themselves in the foot with that one.
-of course since things like ADHD and autism have a strong genetic component, the kaminoans could theoretically engineer those out of the clones, but actually FUCK THAT so for whatever reason, that’s just not something they are able to do, and neurodivergent clones are absolutely a thing

One of the most interesting things to me is how Ahsoka’s story seems to be defined by her lifelong struggle with accepting the truth about Anakin and settling that within herself, and how I’m not sure she’s entirely achieved it. In The Clone Wars, the seventh season was about Ahsoka’s trying to figure herself out, she was on the path towards it, she was thinking that maybe she could finally go home to the Jedi, that she might be able to finally have this truly settled within her.  Not right away, it would still be a long path, but she was considering it as a possibility.  But she couldn’t believe Maul when he explicitly told her that Anakin was going to fall, to be Sidious’ new apprentice, and this kept her from joining with him to take down Sidious, as well as she so completely couldn’t face it that she didn’t even tell anyone. In Rebels, Ahsoka still can’t admit the truth about Darth Vader to herself, even sixteen years later.  It’s not until the Jedi Temple on Lothal forces her to acknowledge it, it’s not until she faces off against Darth Vader and understands that he really was going to kill her, that she would have been dead without Ezra’s help, and that she couldn’t save him.  She has to grapple with the choices and possibilities, whatever she might or might not have chosen, she no longer had the option to go home to the Jedi because he stole it from her and she has to reckon with that, including that he was kind in her memories.  It’s presumably going to be a long road, but it’s something she’s still struggling with. In The Mandalorian, Ahsoka’s refusal to train Grogu is part that, as Star Wars defines it, attachment isn’t just caring about someone, being attached to them is being so unwilling to live without them because you are afraid of it, that you’d do anything to stop it, which is legitimately dangerous in people who are space psychic wizards who can kill people with their minds and become nigh-unstoppable.  But it’s also partly that she seems to still be struggling with it, even though this is 9 ABY, which means Anakin has been dead for 5 years.  Does she know he returned to the light?  Does it matter?  He still suffered and the galaxy suffered for his pain, no matter if he returned or not.  And she doesn’t seem to have fully put that to rest within herself. Ahsoka Tano’s life seems to be underlined by the struggle to ever reach full acceptance or peace within herself, that sometimes it’s outright denial, sometimes it’s just that she can’t fully let it go and it’s the same root cause across almost 30 years of her life.  From the time she was a teenager to at least her mid-40s, this has been one of the things that seems to have followed her, that she loved Anakin Skywalker, she believed in him, she wrestles with the guilt of what she might have done differently, that she has to face that she couldn’t save him, that his pain isn’t more important than the pain he inflicted on others and what that means going forward for people who are space psychic wizards, and that he was capable of so many great things, but also capable of so many horrific things because of those feelings of his.  And it’s not the sum total of her life, but it’s something that seems to have been there, in the distance or up close, for every year that’s passed since she left him.

I’ve been having a rough week, and it only gonna get worse. Could you please write a comfort fic where Ahsoka tells the reader she’s proud of them? I really need it this week. Thank you
My dear Anon, I’m sorry you’re having a rough time (and I’m so sorry it took me this long to get this posted) 🥺. I hope this can be a source of comfort for you, even if only a small one, and I hope things get better for you. 💕
Also, I went with Rebels Ahsoka for this one, I hope that’s okay.
The Comfort of a Friend

Warnings: Accidental self- injury (nothing major), self- doubt, self- blame, talk of war, mentions of war related losses, brief mention of scars, mentally stressed reader (Ahsoka to the rescue 😄)

The door hissed as you entered your private quarters, what followed was a loud clattering of objects hitting the durasteel floor of the ship as you kicked over the metal box that contained your various tools, causing them to go flying and scatter across its surface. You muttered a quiet curse as a sharp pain ran through your foot and up your leg; perhaps that hadn’t been the best choice of action, then again, none of your actions lately had been “good choices”, at least, that’s how it felt.
You let out a heavy sigh as you made your way to your bunk, limping slightly as you attempted to lessen the pressure on your dully throbbing foot, and let yourself fall onto its soft surface. You laid there for a good minute before finally sitting up, only to then slump forward, holding your head in your hands as you contemplated your situation, something you’d done a lot of lately.
No one said joining the rebellion would be easy, you knew it wouldn’t be, you’d expected it to be hard. What you hadn’t expected was just how incredibly frustrating and emotionally taxing it would be. You felt as if every win, big or small, came with an even worse defeat, to the point where, at the end of the day, it didn’t feel like a win at all. You gave your all, you all did, and what did it get you? More scars, and less friends, that’s what. You were at your wits end, feeling as if you were reaching the very edge of your sanity, just short of falling, knowing it wouldn’t take much more to send you tumbling over. You felt heat rising to your face as you desperately fought back the tears that threatened your eyes. This wasn’t going to get any easier, and in the recesses of your mind, a thought lingered, lightly poking at your consciousness, “Should I just give up?”
Before you could dwell on this idea any longer, there was a knock at your door. You straightened, composing yourself as best you could, and called for them to come in.
The door then hissed open to reveal your ally and closest friend, who regarded you with a warm smile.
“Hey”, Ahsoka greeted you, voice gentle, careful. Could she sense your distress, was she worried she might hit a nerve with one wrong word? Most likely.
“Hey”, you greeted back, the word coming out in a sigh as you let your guard down; she’d see right through your façade anyway.
She moved into the room, letting the door slide shut behind her, and came to sit beside you.
“Wanna talk about it”, she asked.
“Not sure it’ll change anything.”
She shrugged. “Maybe not, but it might help, voicing your troubles, gets things off your chest, and lightens the burden on the mind”, she said, lightly tapping your temple with her index finger.
You meet her gaze and see that she still wears that same warm smile, the one she wore every time you two had a heart-to-heart, the one that made you feel cared for. You decide to take her suggestion and you let the burdens weighing on your mind flow from you, one after the other.
“I just, I feel like such a screw-up. It seems like all I do is make bad decisions, ones that cost more than just my own safety, and with every wrong choice I make, I lose more; more hope, more friends, more of my own sanity… more of myself. I feel like all we do is give for this rebellion, but we get nothing in return, just more pain and hardship, and I can’t help but feel responsible for our failures. I’m no leader, never have been”, you said, pausing for a minute as you tried to sort your thoughts. Ahsoka waited patiently, not wanting to say anything until she knew you were done.
“I don’t know, maybe… maybe it would be better if I left, I’m not sure if I’m cut out for this”, you finally said, finishing your train of thought.
Ahsoka regarded you for a long moment before she finally spoke.
“(Y/N), I know this is hard, and I know things feel pretty hopeless right now, but I promise you, they will get better. It might not seem like it now, but victory doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time, and a great deal of effort, effort I see you put in every single day. You might not see your prowess as a leader, but I do, and so does every other person who’s fought by you, they put their trust in you because they see your dedication to the cause, they know you want to free the galaxy just as much as they do, and they know you’ll do what it takes to make that a reality. It’s an attribute they respect”, she said, confidence thick in her tone.
You furrowed your eyebrows, your inner thoughts fighting her encouragement within the confines of your mind.
“Tell that to the ones that didn’t make it back, the ones I let down because of my misguided choices, the ones I…”
“Stop”, Ahsoka said, her voice becoming firm as she cut your sentence short. “Loss is a part of war, a sad truth, but true nonetheless; they knew that, and they still chose to fight, because they believed in what we’re fighting for. Those losses are not on you, those people, they weren’t blind to the dangers they faced, they knew the risks, as do we, because we’re the ones taking those risks right alongside them, we’re with them, every step of the way, don’t forget that.”
You sighed; she was right, you were facing the same dangers as any one of the rebels under your command, and it could’ve just as easily been you who didn’t return, you’d just gotten lucky. You knew you were being overly hard on yourself, but as time went on it was getting more difficult not to, you couldn’t help but feel responsible, even if it was for things out of your control.
“I know, it’s just hard, and it only seems to be getting harder. It’s difficult to look at things optimistically when it feels like the whole galaxy is crumbling down around you. It’s hard to keep going when it feels like you’re getting nowhere”, you told her, leaning forward to rest your head in one of your hands.
“I understand”, Ahsoka said as she placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, moving it gently so you turned back to face her. “But I know you can do it, you’re more capable than you give yourself credit for.”
You raised a quizzical brow at her words, your expression earning a chuckle from the woman.
“I’m serious”, she affirmed. “I’ve seen you do countless things I’m sure you thought you couldn’t; impressed me many a time.”
You noticed her gaze didn’t waver, the only thing it conveyed was complete belief in the words she spoke. She gave you her familiar warm smile once again and you found yourself smiling back, albeit a bit weakly.
“Really?”
“Really”, she confirmed, giving a single nod to emphasize her response. “Try not to let your self-criticisms get the better of you, okay? You can acknowledge your successes just as much as your defeats.” She paused, speaking again only after you nodded your understanding. “You’ve done well, I’m proud of you (Y/N).”
Her words tugged at your heart and had the small smile you displayed growing wider and more genuine.
“Thanks, Ahsoka, that means a lot”, you said, your tone conveying just how touched you were by her words. She then pulled you in for a hug, her hold strong and affirming, but still gentle in nature; you gave just as much to the embrace, attempting to demonstrate your appreciation and love for your friend through this wordless action.
“Any time”, she said, releasing you moments later, rising from the bunk and moving towards the door, but not before giving your hand one final comforting squeeze. She touched the keypad, opening the door, but stopped before fully exiting. She turned to face you; eyebrow raised in a playful manner.
“Meditation”, she said simply.
Your face scrunched up in confusion. “Huh?”
“Meditation”, she repeated. “I’ve felt a lot of stress on your mind lately, it gets pretty loud in there”, she explained, pointing to your head. “I think a little mindful meditation is just what you need, help you sort out your thoughts, quiet things down a bit”, she suggested.
You huffed an amused laugh.
“Yeah, not sure how effective that’ll be, not even sure I’ll be able to do it right, I’m no jedi, after all.”
Ahsoka shook her head and laughed.
“(Y/N), you don’t have to be a jedi to meditate, you simply have to sit, clear your mind, and look inward, take control of your own thoughts for a while, trust me, it’s easier than it sounds”, she explained.
“Uh huh”, you said, not fully convinced.
“Hey, don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it”, she said with a grin and a shrug.
“Whatever you say”, you replied, still smiling.
You said your goodbyes and soon you were once again alone. You smiled to yourself as Ahsoka’s comforting words echoed in your mind. You were truly grateful to her, she always knew how to help you, always seemed to know what you needed, so maybe, she was right about this too.
You sat up straight, folded your legs, and rested your hands atop your knees, rolling your eyes after doing so; you felt a bit ridiculous humoring this notion, but you trusted Ahsoka, so, you closed your eyes, and attempted to clear your mind.
Nothing happened at first, but you kept at it, and soon enough you felt yourself drifting, it felt like falling into that place between sleeping and waking, but you knew that wasn’t where you were going, rather you were going inward, and you soon found yourself inside your own head, mingling with and sorting through your inner thoughts.
This went on for a good while before you finally felt comfortable enough to bring yourself back to the surface, falling back on the soft cushioned surface of your bunk once you’d done so. In that moment, you realized the feeling you had was one you’d almost come to forget, a true sense, of peace.
