Hobie is one of the only people that Peter connect with on older things, even if they're decades apart. Hobie is probably the only person at HQ who knows how to use a record player and owns one. Hobie is probably the only person who keeps record needles or a vinyl collection, and the can bond over the sound of vinyl and their collections! Hobie marvels when Peter shows him a new vinyl that would be considered vintage in his day
AND!! Something SO overlooked in Hobie - he's probably very smart and VERY well read.
Hobie is a punk, there was no internet back then. But based on his understanding of his ideology it's safe to say he has a solid complex understanding of world history and books about social theory so Im guessing he reads a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if he's read books by communists and socialists and stuff.
They could go on book dates and share theory books with each other, listening to records after dinner! Them bonding over 1930's and 1970's jazz!!
Hobie knows rain (he's from London after all) but he probably prefers it a lot more in Peter's universe cause of the ambience - and he's sitting in Noir's apartment it's raining outside and Hobie's the only color in the room, changing back and forth from pink to red AHHHHHHHHH

its the same line just said and accented completely differently i have some theories but ahhhhhhhhh
we know Ahti is either the actual finnish god of sea Ahti/Ahto or is a guy being possessed by him like the old gods of asgard {maybe they are possessed? or channeling odin/thor?} - so the shift from Alan referring to him by just a normal name to the actual proper sea god's name is acknowledgment.
either its Alan understanding Ahti's proper role (which congrats to al for learning finnish for this, cant pronounce any other of it right), or like acknowledging like (or tangential). the sea god meeting something made or tied to the ocean, and Alan accepting his role in all this.
i would have to check but i believe this is the only time in the r!verse that someone properly says Ahti's name the finnish way. the only time someone fully acknowledges Ahti's nature as the only god we properly know of yet.
given the fact that Alan is aware of Ahti's role before this, due to whatever bullshit (visions) he has that lets him write the manuscript, this feels like a proper thank you. a proper "i understand now what you have done. thank you for all of it."

Ahhhh!!! New crazy The Last Shadowhunter theory! Also, this has a read more in case someone is still catching up on reading TDA or TftSA. Cuz spoilers. You've been warned!
Ok, so I'm reading Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, right? And this line jumped out at me:
"You are Nephilim now. I name you Simon Shadowhunter, of the blood of Jonathan Shadowhunter, child of the Nephilim." It was a placeholder name, until he chose a new one for himself.

So, um...crazy thought, but what if The Last Shadowhunter is in reference to the last mundane to have sipped from the Mortal Cup?
We know The Mortal Instruments can be destroyed. The sword was broken by Emma in TDA. So what if the cup is? Oh God, what if this cup is destroyed!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! There are so many things The Last Shadowhunter could mean! I thought I stopped going nuts over the title, but nope! Cassandra Clare managed to find a way to make me freak out again.

Working on an arcade piece right now for the lads and I'm wondering just how bad Iggy would be at those strength tests with the mallet. My working theory is that he does this really dramatic swing after hesitating multiple times, and it entirely misses the button(?) (whatever it's called) that measures strength. Either that or he actually does somehow manage to hit it and still gets the lowest score.
(Asking because my current sketch has him mid-Super Dramatic Swing but I have altered it several times already and can't decide on one)

I just finished binge watching season 4 with my friend so I am going to try my best to write down cohesive thoughts. (Warning: They’re not very cohesive) Spoilers ahead!!!!
Ep. 1: I love Kitty and Thomas in this episode!!! The way Kitty’s voice changes when she becomes his agent is hilarious! And then Robin becomes his bodyguard!!! Fanny and Julian bonding over their voyeurism will never not be funny. The reference to Ötzi is my favourite but I think it’s because I’m a massive nerd. Mary’s description of her day to day life was honestly so wholesome and beautiful I loved it. I related far too much to Alison’s anxiety about being liked by guests and such. Also Cap and Mick at the end <3
Ep. 2: AAAAHHHHHH CAP AND KITTY BONDING EPISODE THIS IS MY FAVOURITE THING EVER YESSSSSSSS!!!!! Mary backstory time!!!! Annie teaching Mary how to be a girlboss!!!!! Also Thomas is a confirmed former drug addict and I honestly love that for him. Pat becoming a prison guard is incredibly funny! Wonderful Humphrey and Thomas moments in there!!! As soon as Mike’s friends talked about their little “business opportunity” I immediately knew it’s was a shady pyramid NFT scheme type situation. Cap’s bug obsession!!! Alison trying to bond with the ghosts!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH THE CAPTAIN WITHOUT HIS JACKET AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Ep. 3: The closest thing we’ll get to a musical episode!!!!!! Honestly good on Alison for putting the ghosts in their place. And Mike being the best husband ever is the sweetest thing!!!! “Julian fingering Fanny’s lip” will probably be my favourite Fanny joke to date! DOUBLE CAP GUN NOISES!!!! <333 I love Mary sticking up for herself!!!! Then she goes and has a self care day!!! “My heart belongs to daddy” 👀 okay Cap. Aaaaand Mike is running around in the nude… good for him. The sorry song is the greatest thing to grace this earth! Literally better than any other musical undertaking ever! They had choreography and everything! They left a review for Alison!!!!! I genuinely thought Mary was gonna burn the place down, I love my feral housewife!!!
Ep. 4: This one broke me. But birdwatcher Cap makes me incredibly happy! :) the fakeout with Robin and then making it so Mary is the one sucked off absolutely destroyed me. You can’t just kill my wife like that!!!!!! It happened so suddenly!!!! And then it shows all the different ways the ghosts grieve, it absolutely broke my heart. Then Robin talks about how he looks to the stars as a coping mechanism 😭. And ALISON WEAVED A BASKET WITH MARY AND IT’S FIVE POTATOES HIGH!!!!! Then there’s Cap about to cry and Julian comforting him! And the fact that Humphrey didn’t even know 😭😭 I can’t with this show this is a comedy why am I sobbing!?!?!? Beautiful episode. Damn you Ben Willbond! (Affectionate)
Ep. 5: New ghost!!!! He seems like such a chill guy I love Maddocks. (I really hope that’s a reference to Yonderland) He really is just the guy ever. I love the fact that Robin has known about him for so long. I wanna stab Barlcay <3. Mike trying to get out of the bubble thing is so silly I love it! And Robin and Julian playing with the giant chess board is everything!!!!
Ep. 6: Holy shit what an opening. I knew Button House HAD to be fine but a little voice in my head kept telling me otherwise. I love that Julian is trying to be a good person just to prove Cap wrong. Idk why that’s so amazing to me. Robin backstory!!!!!!!! I knew the struck by lighting theory was right!!!!! I feel so validated!!!!!!!!!! Also ROBIN IS A THUNDER GOD NOW!?!?!! Like he can control lighting essentially. That’s a lot of power for one ghost to have. My guy can CONTROL THE SKY!!!! Over all a pretty open-ended ending. I’m very excited to see what they have planned for season 5.
I really liked season 4! The vibe was definitely different but it wasn’t bad at all. I love how we got more Humphrey and the Plague Ghosts and I think each character had their time to shine and it all went really well! Episode 2 is definitely my favourite!

BUT i still stand by my theory that her father then turned around and spewed lies that bug is a cold-blooded murderer for slaughtering his wife and i'm going to guess that that's the incident that leads to her punishment
also the only two times the phrase 'my daughter' is ever used is at the very beginning, when father summons bug for her trial, and mother's last words before she dies. the CONTRAST THOUGH?? between the way the phrase is said and the contexts it's used in??? oh my god you're so clever

Was rewatching highlights of C3 ep42, the one right after the Chetney werewolf fight, and the moment when Laudna takes Fearne aside to ask her to teach her to use fire magic really stuck out to me.
First of all, there’s got to be that moment where Fearne thinks Laudna is going to confront her about the coin toss. We know from four sided dive and from what she literally says to Laudna in that conversation that Fearne feeling super guilty about it.
And then Laudna goes, like, hey I have magic but your magic is really cool and will you teach me?
And Fearne goes ‘oh, I would absolutely love to help with that,’ and she follows it up with a mountain of compliments: what a good idea. you’re going to be so good at it. It’ll totally work with your aesthetic. I’m excited about this
And then she takes a breath and she looks down and she goes ‘how does it feel to be alive again?’
Like it’s the only thing on her mind. She can’t stop thining about it. It throws Laudna for a loop and Fearne says oh I was trying to just slip it in there. And that’s just... what? Like, oh you like my magic? oh, yes I’d love to teach you fire magic. you’re gonna be awesome at it. what a good idea. It’ll fit right in with your aesthetic HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE ALIVE AGAIN.
And to me it fits with Fearne’s impulsive nature to not be able to stop herself from bringing it up. Not when she’s feeling so guilty.
Laudna responds ‘it feels incredible. I’m still grappling with the lengths you all went to to get me back. I’m still not sure if i’m free of Delilah. I’m not easily afraid but I’m still afraid of myself.’
Fearne responds ‘I understand the feeling.’ And i like to think this is Fearne feeling if not fear exactly then hesitation about giving into her impulses from this point forward. Because for the next few episodes, Fearne isn’t really stealing that much? like it used to be just all the time. And maybe Ashley is just forgetting because, you know, moon aliens and Ludinus Da’leth and airport casino, but... I like to see it as Fearne realizing that her impulsivity can do real harm. She’s stepped on her proverbial rake, to call back to Orym and Dorian’s conversation from episode one.
And the next thing she says (at least in the marisharaygun highlight video i was watching) is ‘I feel pretty terrible that I flipped a coin for your lives. I’m sorry. I didn’t want to make the decision myself and then it felt so flippant and terrible.’
That backs it up, in my opinion. She thought she was being flippant. She saw that it caused real harm. She’s being less flippant now.
And then laudna goes, ‘I support the decision.’
This is the line in the marisharaygun video that made me start writing this because oh my god ahhhhhhhhh.
I should preface that there’s obviously the theory that Fearne didn’t flip at all. She never showed the coin to anybody, and then she tried to keep it, which could be evidence that Fearne chose Orym, that Orym is, in her own words, her best friend, that she’d never let him die. I don’t know if I believe that, but my theory about laudna’s words here works either way.
I don’t believe Laudna was talking about the coin flip, or at least, not entirely. I think she was talking about saving Orym. It was Fearne who cast the Revivify, after all. Laudna is saying here, not only ‘I support your not choosing, leaving it up to fate,’ but also saying, ‘it is right that Orym got to live.’
And it’s just more kindling on the pile of Laudna doesn’t see her life as worth as much as the people around her.
And I think Fearne sees that too. because the next thing that happens, when Fearne teaches Laudna to cast Fireball, Fearne’s immediate reaciton to Laudna asking where she should aim is ‘AIM AT ME.’
Sure, she’s a circle of wildfire druid with a fire elemental spirit monkey, sure, she probably didn’t think Laudna would be able to conjure much fire on her first try. But also, I think there’s some part of Fearne that feels like laudna should get the chance to be angry at her; to punish her. To take something out at her for making the choice---or not choosing, for that matter.
And of course laudna doesn’t want to hurt her. That isn’t Laudna’s way.
But anyway, that scene made me go fucking apeshit and i don’t know if any of this is coherent. anyway enjoy i guess

first impression: yet again it was the movie. this was right around the time of 2015/16 heathers fanaticism so i was like. gasp it’s JD. when i read the first book i didn’t think much more of him than “that guy JD from heathers played” because there wasn’t that much to him, he was just an audience surrogate and a narrative tool.
impression now: devil’s minion continues to be the best chapter of any anne rice book as my good friend jacob anderson can attest to, i love book daniel so dearly that in the midst of my intense promotion for the show last year i blatantly ignored anything that was said about show daniel because i just didn’t know what to make of him. but we will get to that in a moment! in typical anne fashion she created an extremely compelling character in daniel and relationship in devil’s minion and then decided to do nothing with them for the rest of time, so sadly now when i think of book daniel i also feel bitter for all the wasted potential. but at least we’ll always have queen of the damned <3 back to show daniel, i decided to reserve judgement until i actually watched it, and now of course i really enjoy his character and i think he’s imperative to the show’s construction. he’s the audience surrogate in a completely different way, pointing out the obvious inconsistencies and the questions we all have, but he also endears us to louis, because we empathize with and feel protective of louis in the face of the more harsh interjections daniel has. then character-wise, the whispers of 70s daniel and his past relationships with louis and armand are really exciting to theorize about. i really love what he brings to the show and i’m at the edge of my seat waiting for what his future storyline will be!!!
favorite moment: in qotd, not so much a moment but the line about looking at armand as if he’s an insect is soooooo. so . yeah yeah . in the show, it’s the 70s flashback for obvious reasons lmao. i feel like that’s a copout but i cannot lie
idea for a story: i don’t know how likely the alice/armand theory is, but i love any and all extrapolations on it it’s such a . ahhhhhhhhh concept
unpopular opinion: i don’t know if i have one for book daniel but for show daniel. ok i’m weird because i love reading about the alice/armand theory but i actually don’t want devil’s minion to have already happened, i don’t want Any of the other books to have already happened and i’m honestly scared of the possibility 😭 i want to SEE devil’s minion play out i want to see armand throw daniel around Now

Okay first of all, did Melissa really just say "the bad guy"? OMG I love her. She's definitely Scott's mom. XD XD
Second of all, can we talk about how much I love Ethan?
"You hesitated!"

We love him for that. We love him for holding back and recognizing that Scott and Stiles and Derek are just trying to protect their own as much as he and Aiden are.
That said, as upsetting as it is, based on what Aiden is saying, I also understand why they're so determined to get to her, and frankly, if she wasn't holding Cora and Noah over our heads, I'd just kill her too.
Actually that's a lie. No I wouldn't, because killing her doesn't take back the sacrifices that have already been made, and if there's anybody who can stop what's coming and maybe tell us how to fix it, it's the one who started it all. So no, I wouldn't kill her YET, but I DO understand why they want her dead.
Which brings me to...what IS her connection to the Alphas? Scott had mentioned there's a chance the Darach was an emissary to one of the Alphas. Maybe she was and they didn't listen to her or something and tried to kill her and now she's out for revenge? Or something like that. I don't have a specific enough theory, but I'm guessing it's something along those lines.
Although she also said "you have to understand how connected we are" to Derek, which means maybe she was, like, trying to protect the Hale family from the Alpha pack or something and they went against her and tried to kill her and that's why she turned on them, but also why she went to Derek. Maybe there's a part of her that really does care about Derek.
Or maybe this is all just part of her plan to take over the world and destroy all of the Alphas/werewolves/people who would fight against her.
Either way, I'm scared. Especially because Jennifer has Stilinski hostage, and I'm betting you Deucalion is about to have Melissa hostage, and Jennifer is holding Cora over Derek's head by not healing her until they can save her, and all I'm saying is, this is NOT looking good for our heroes...
But they're our heroes, so they can figure it out and get out of it!

Hi bestie! It’s officially your birth month 🥳 (it’s super cool that you get the spooky month as your birth month, I’m incredibly jealous) and you did ask for people to talk about songs or just our fave idiots in love which I’m more than happy to oblige.
First on song recs (I haven’t gotten around to looking at the playlist yet, I’m so sorry. I promise I’ll give it a look but I’m actually typing this while on a break from crocheting an entire cardigan as a present for my friend’s birthday and it’s eating up all my free time. Plz send bandaids for my fingers 😵💫) but Like Real People Do by Hozier screams the cute dummies so well I’m my head. It’s just so dreamy and sweet and ugh I have to link one of my favorite songs to my kiddos. Also, This Side of Paradise by Coyote Theory is definitely something I hear and go “it’s tHEM” so yeah ☺️ (honorable mention to one of my most played songs of the year Simple Things by Ziggy Alberts but it’s not completely perfect. I just love it and I’m a sucker for cute love songs and thinking of ideas to do with my ships even if they exist only in a fic)
And I could talk about the big dumb idiots (I love them so much-) all day without pause. I think about them a lot ngl especially when I’d rather be reading on tumblr than doing other things. I genuinely get excited when I get notifications for your account. I’m fairly softhearted so they really fuel my serotonin with all the fluff. I actually started reading the series way before I got into anything in the Star Wars franchise (I legit just watched my first Star Wars movie a couple weeks ago. My nerd parents have been disappointed by me for the past 22 years oops-) because it was in my recommended on my main page and it looked promising so I gave it a shot. I love the relationships and chemistry you’ve given them and I fall into the headspace of actually having a Mando in my life while reading (I seriously wish I did, I mean look at him) and while I’m not a fan of kids, my heart just melts at the sight of Grogu so them coparenting him makes me smile until my cheeks hurt. i support your lila hate account 100%. she's a sociopath or something idk, but she fell into the unredeemable villain role so easily! i always have 1 villain in my writing who's completely crazy but the others get (mostly) humanized with tragic backstories or redemption arcs...well i guess if i ever publish some non fanfic stuff, you'll see.
the mariwalker scene has been such a long time coming! it's one of the scenes that i first visualized for this fic; that cw would save marinette, she'd yell at him, and then the peacock mask would appear over his face & shut her up. i'm rather pleased with how it came out in the fic haha, just the right balance of quirk and angst.

Malleus first heard about it from Lilia, "a silly theory of love by picking petals? Pathetic." Is what he always say, but truth be told, he was curious about it.
"Is it real?" Malleus asked. He grew curious day by day, so as he walked around the school yard he cant help but stop and stare at the flowers on the bushes.
"I mean it wouldn't hurt to try, right?" Malleus looked around, ashamed at doing something so silly.
"No. This is just a silly human thing" He said even though he stared at the flower petals with concentration as he olucked them out.
"They love me" A petal gone "They love me not" Another one gone.
He repeated the same thing until he plucked the last one "They love me........
.....not"
Malleus grew irritated as he threw the petal less flower on the ground and stomped on it.
Anyone who walked by would've been weirded out at what the hell was going on.
He took another one and plucked all the petal out.
"They love me not"
"They love me not"
"They love me not"
"They love me..." Malleus stared at the fifth flower with so much happiness in his eyes "THEY LOVE ME, YES!" He celebrated but once he looked back at flower to curse at it, what he saw made his smile turn uoside down.
"They love me not" He plucked the last remaining flower.
"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! CURSE YOU!!!!!" Malleus grabbed hi hair and startrd pulling it.
"Calm down, this just a dumb game" He said but he still took another flower to pluck the petals out, at this point he was sat criss-crossed on the ground, if Sevek were to see this, he would've flipped!
He plucked and he plucked and he plucked but the answer was still the same.
He took the last flower on the bush and started to pluck them.
"They love me"
"They love me not"

He stared at the flower with so much sadness.
