i just finished the first season of link click and what the fuck?? this series is amazing. almost every episode made me cry, and the show just kept getting better and better. sorry to come to your inbox and ramble, but your posts made me want to check out this show and i just wanna say that i appreaciate it <3 i have sooo many feelings haha

love how you described it bc you're so right, it does keep getting better!!! the first season is truly so so dear to my heart because all the emotions are so raw, you know? it's honestly such a masterpiece in show writing with the way it tricks you into thinking it's a fun episodic show and then it's just one punch after another and everything is revealed to be interconnected at the end like it's insane??
i can't wait for you to experience s2!! it has a very different vibe to s1 since it's more linear and action-packed but in a way that doesn't stray far from the show's core, if that makes sense? the animation really stepped up and the storyboarding in some eps felt very experimental and unique which was fun to see! also the music literally never misses as always. just a heads-up bc it can prob feel like a big shift but it's worth it by the end i prommy
also i'd rec watching the shorts before you watch s2 so you get the full experience! they're not really connected plot-wise, but there are several easter eggs from the shorts that you'll miss otherwise and they add so much flavor. don't be deceived by the cute chibi art style and 5 min duration btw bc some of those eps can and will inflict emotional damage like you would not believe

LBFAD rewatch observations part 2
1. Man XLH is so brave. From day 1. She is terrified of the soldiers searching for the escaped plant spirit in Haishi but she not only saves the spirit, she also takes the time to look for the destiny book. Like imagine being that scared but doing the right thing anyway. When DFQC said she is the bravest in the 3 realms 🤌
2. "My younger brother is still as stupid and incompetent as ever". OUCH 🤣 Pre emotion DFQC is a savage. Poor Xunfeng. 😅
3. The first time he goes to rescue her because of her being in danger is also the first time he is trying to figure out how to release his soldiers. I'm just thinking about the manyyyy times he will be pulled away from doing this task because of her. "🎶Every decision made because of you🎶" ❤
4. That scene of the moon un-eclipsing to reveal DFQC > im dead. Him saying "How dare a dying person ask my name" in the most casual but also deadly way with his little head tilt > I am resurrected to die again. Dead dead dead. He is so powerful here.
5. "Is it an earthquake? Why did everyone run away scared?" My girl XLH did you not see the big handsome devil uneclipse the moon and stare daggers at everyone? She so clueless I love her 😆
6. I too immediately think any boy showing me any concern must be in love with me. And that there must be some far fetched reason for it.
7. Oh oh OH I missed this the first time but she sees the Xilan seal on him. She knows some curse/spell is on him. But she never connects the dots 😅😅 I had always thought she had no clue of it.

15. My mans experiences fear, takes a big inhale of it and says "ahhh this delicacy, I haven't tasted in a while" *smirk* 💀😶 Sir.
16. Imagine the annoyance (maybe even panic) when he realized he HAS to count ALL the darn flowers 😅
17. The comfort with which XLH invades his personal space while teaching him to make pastries 😆 Like Maam. He will eat you.

To reduce Hughie’s actions to toxic masculinity overlooks the complexity of his motivations and what set him off this path initially. We just saw his residual rage and grief of Robin’s death in his scene with A-train. It never left Hughie. He never had the chance to protect her. It makes his decisions a lot more nuanced, compounded by the crazy shit he has survived in the last 3 years. He also has had to reconcile with Neuman’s betrayal and the fact that he contributed to Vought’s strength in government which completely upended his life. That alone was a huge blow to his confidence and everything he believed in about doing things the “right way.” I just wish Annie, MM and Butcher did more to correct him like, “nooooo babe, you’ve done so much xyz.”
I do like that it shows the challenges of being in a supe relationship and with Hughie its also informed by his knowledge and experience of the collateral damage of supes and the life it took away from him. This is why I think it’s bigger than Annie just being physically stronger.
An underrated moment: In a way, Annie proved Hughie correct. When he was standing in her way, she used her powers against him to get him out of her way. If he wasn’t suped up would he be able to withstand the attack? She was willing to physically hurt Hughie for the greater good to try and save multiple people at herogasm. And Hughie is the same. He did everything he could to make sure Soldier Boy focused on the twins. He failed in this endeavor but the question remains, what’s damage and carnage of a supe party compared to the potential of Homelander taking out New York, the country?Thats why I completely understand team whatever it takes. Hughie was ready to die to take out homelander.
I really enjoy Annie as a character but she’s been allowed to change course multiple times and naturally we root for her but Hughie despite everything he’s experienced is expected to do the right thing. Like no sis! Please my favorite morally upright character, please continue fucking shit up.
It looks like the lesson the show is trying to demonstrate with Annie is that you fight your enemies with the truth and honestly that is really an idealistic and pretty way of looking at the system. I think the show itself may not be ready to reconcile what it’ll take to disrupt systems of capitalistic oppression. But that’s a whole other post.
I really love MM’s arc because his motivations continue to be revealed to us. He’s a man consumed by the trauma and grief of his past which informs his OCD, anxiety and depression. His mental health severely impacts his ability to move forward, to be present and focus on his relationship with his family. For all the talk about Hughie’s codependency with Butcher, MM’s codependency with Butcher extends much longer and deeper. He was willing to lie to his wife multiple times in S1 for Butcher. And for all of Butchers fuckups and multiple betrayals, MM finds his way back to him. I always thought that during the course of 2x01, 2x02 and 2x03, Hughie had every right to feel betrayed by Frenchie and MM when they sided with Butcher even though he straight up left them for dead and Hughie had to step up to help keep the team together. I just hope MM and Hughie can reconcile once the dust settles. Hughie never gave up on MM when he was dissociating and depressed over losing his family in 2x01 and had initially chose to focus on building a dollhouse rather than the mission. Hughie “what if he does this to the Brooklyn bridge” still cares about the greater good. MM more than anyone should understand Hughie’s plight and allure of not only being with Butcher but making fucked up choices motivated by revenge. Ahhh the drama, soo good!!
Thanks for bearing with my excessive train of thoughts. There’s so much more to unpack with Ashley, A-train and others but I’ll need to assess and rewatch.

So... what if I have more thoughts? XD
I just keep thinking about the reveal and how things might be from now on kjghdfkhlj
Like, ahhh, just the getting used to the new normal now that the cat's out of the bag ( or the demon out of the animatronic? XD) First of all there's probably gonna be a talk (if more pressing matters don't arise dfksjgjh) Y/n understandably wants so many answers and I just keep wondering what they will ask first. They still seem very unsure on what to believe, even if they seem more used to the idea that their friend really is a demon. There's of course gonna be that bit about who the boys have killed, but also I see them questioning every part of the last months. The hunter seems to have started accepting the idea that Eclipse really does want to stay with them, but also it wouldn't be strange for doubts (spurred by their previous experience with a demon, and the recent encounter with Shoh) to keep coming back and maybe they'll wonder once in a while when the demon will get tired of them and kill them after all.
I wonder if they will look back to everything they have done and ask themselves what parts of it where a lie. They do not really know or trust that Sun and Moon never lied to them, since their whole stay with them has been revealed to have been less than honest (by omission), so I just think about all those doubts, and things that might make them question their relationship. Were they really with kids when the doppleganger attacked the first night, or where they hunting someone? Did the hunter ever put someone in danger by bringing them along? Did they know the danger they were putting them in by hiding the detector? When they decided to follow, were they planning at the start to just leave one day without warning after satiating their curiosity about the human in the forest?
But also I see the doubts becoming even more intense when directed at themselves. Maybe after the initial shock of this turn of events they will berate themselves harshly for missing this. They will throw out all the reasons they had for not seeing it and look at all the signs they dismissed. Lambert clocked them as a demon in like half a day with just 2 signs. They were traveling together for months. They knew what the detector said. Y/n knew what their instincts about the supernatural felt like and they ignored it. Every chill, every feeling of being watched. The refusal to answer any questions about their past as daycare bots, because they didn't have one.
And while I know all the boys felt was relief when they weren't discovered, I can only imagine that y/n might wonder if they were judging them (like they judge themselves now). What it must have looked like from the perspective of a powerful presence like a demon to go unnoticed by a so-called hunter. Fearing that it was amusing in their eyes that they defended the boys from all strangers that claimed they were unsettling, or when they were acting apologetic for pushing about their "traumatizing" experience with the pizza plex, or feeling foolish for trying to comfort them when the only one truly in danger and afraid (for their own life at least) was y/n. I can totally see them exchanging the "I'm not enough for them to feel safe and trust me" thoughts for something like "I am a blind idiot and was making a fool out of myself all this time" .
(Not that the boys would think any of the above, but y/n has a bad habit of swallowing their insecurities so they might need to coax those out of them in order to stop them from keeping that mentality)
And ooh, I'm so curious about how the dynamic is gonna move from here. Because now to the hunter, this must feel incredibly out of their hands. Before it was Sun and Moon, the double AI animatronic that had been lost in the forest after a tragic fire took their home away. They are smart, and strong and have some unique abilities due to their robotic nature, but they still were alone and y/n could relate to them on some level. Sure they were physically stronger and experts at taking care of others, but y/n must have felt on equal ground with them because they offered a home and company and care in return as well. A weird new relationship but one that could be based on mututal care and both parties bringing their own strengths to it.
To the hunter now it must feel so unbalanced.
They're still afraid of Eclipse on some level, which will take time to work through. Again the "there's no point in running" line! Even if they didn't feel like running, it's about feeling like they suddenly have so little power in all of this. Not like they ever felt like or even wanted to be someone that Sun and Moon considered their superior or anything, but the boys did make it clear that they would follow their lead. Follow in their hunts, and get used to their routine. It was always "so what are we doing next" and y/n would have the answer. Now they are faced with the fact that this demon can do whatever he damn well pleases. They say they won't but they could just kill them, They could just posses them. They could just take them anywhere they wanted. They have nearly no instruments to fight back and what they do have they wouldn't be able to do that much with by themselves. There might be a feeling of being incredibly small and that suddenly they don't have that much say in anything that is happening.
But ahhh this all just speculation of our dear hunter's inner future turmoil about how things are going XD I can't help but wanting to think about all the deepest and darkest fears and thoughts because I do love wondering about the angst kjdfhgñ
Of course, there's a whole episode left, and that might mean that a lot of these get pushed for later or maybe even a lot of these worries won't be able to arise before they will be proven wrong to the hunter by future events yet to come! Very excited to see what happens next!
(Obviously I don't expect confirmation of anything because spoilers haha, but thought you might find it interesting if I dumped all these thoughts here kdfjhgsñh)

Trimax Vol.2
Hello! I’ve been lurking in the book club so far but I wanted to jump in the ring and add my own thoughts to the mix. Fun fact: I actually binge read the manga about two weeks, but read it so fast I didn’t absorb much. I’m taking this as an opportunity to read it more slowly and really savor it, and hopefully understand it a little more. My first experience was fun, but I was also a little confused by the end.
I certainly can’t compare to some of amazing analyses I’ve read so far, but here are some thoughts!
Ch1
WOW. What an opening. This only gets more horrifying on reread. I was actually very confused the first go around because I thought Midvalley was the one shoving all those people in the trucks and squashing them and my knowledge of him from 98 did NOT fit this at all. It was a great way to reintroduce Legato though
I’m STILL wondering who this giant person is that’s carrying Legato around in his Iron Maiden. Just another Knives minion I guess?? They got put on Legato babysitting duty
Ch2
Well, Legato is somehow more unhinged than before
Genuinely sometimes feel like Legato mauling that steak when I’m reading this manga though
Love when Vash and Wolfwood are being stupid together. Also Vash driving is me when I drive
Vash’s ridiculous greeting Rai Dei is preceded by him having a Very Serious moment staring at the empty town. I appreciate the ability this manga has to insert moments of humor into otherwise incredibly serious situations without it being jarring. 10/10 great character and storytelling

I really like this panel of Vash, right after Rai Dei reveals he knows about the colony. Something about how most of his face is obscured, it really underscores how terrifying Vash can be. Every time something he loves is threatened, he gets very, very scary very fast and the way Nightow shows this is just amazing

“C’mon. Leading a normal life, it’s not so bad, y’know.” He’s speaking from experience and this line makes me kinda sad. He really liked it, but he had to give it up to do the right thing :(
You know, for some of the backstories of the Gung Ho Guns, it makes sense where they got their abilities from. Like Monev and Rai Dei obviously trained for years and years to become these expert fighters. But for the others, like Dominique and Legato, I’m constantly wondering where they picked up what are essentially supernatural abilities without being plants or something. Though this may just be the fact that I saw tristamp first talking, since they do explain that there.
WHAT? How did I not notice Rai Dei had a gunblade??? My favorite ridiculous anime weapon
Also, uh oh Wolfwood’s done it now
Holy shit, did Vash just punch him?!?!
Hmmmm, oh yes, this scene made me lose my mind when I first read it (last week lol). Wolfwood trying to prove a point about making tough decisions by making Vash literally put a gun to his head and calling Vash a coward for refusing to kill and get his hands dirty
Unfortunately, it also confuses the hell out of me because it feels like they’re having multiple conversations at once and I can’t pick up on maybe more than half of one.
But!! The thing that stands out to me: Vash calls Wolfwood out, saying that he knows he’s better than this, that he wants better than this, but he’s so scared of hoping that he becomes a devil instead. I love how these two really see each other. Even when Wolfwood is kinda scared of Vash, he’s trying to understand him more than anything, and though he struggles, he does see him and get him
On a lighter note…Ahhh yes, the girls are back!! I’ve missed them the past few chapters.
Ch5
Oh no, Wolfwood’s dream :( It makes me so, so sad. He just really doesn’t think there’s any way for him to go back or wash his hands clean
The tone shifts are honestly masterful. Wolfwood goes from having a horrible nightmare to slapstick comedy because Vash crashed Angelina again
Gotta love that Wolfwood just dumps Vash facedown on that couch
Oh my god, Vash, you have a concussion, what are you doing!! Why did Wolfwood just leave him there on his own? I know they haven’t spent that much time together, but does Wolfwood not know him at all? Vash will get into Situations if left to his own devices.
Hmmm, Rob’s situation really underscores the argument Vash and Wolfwood were having last chapter. Especially his father’s line about not everyone being able to gamble with their lives so easily
Jesus, Wolfwood is terrified of Vash. I thought on my first read that this is a bit of an overreaction to this situation, but thinking on it again, after Fifth Moon and seeing all the crazy shit Vash can do, it has to be scary to see a guy who’s hurt and reeling and still manages to cause massive damage. So yeah, can’t really blame him for wondering what kind of monster he’s gotten himself involved with
But then he’s reminded…Vash is also just some silly guy who really likes food. Ah, the duality of man and monster. Again, the tone shift from Wolfwood having serious thoughts of fear and doubt to Vash being a certified goofball.
Ch6
The opening of this chapter is great. We get a little bit of Wolfwood’s backstory and start to understand how dark it is. Who shot him as a child? Where did he come from? But also, we find out he has a deep conviction to stay alive
You know, I completely forgot Rei Dei threatened the colony two chapters ago because for a hot sec I was really confused why they’d been traveling so hard and why the hell they’re on this weird contraption right now.
What’s interesting to me about what Wolfwood says here—about living his life the way he does, about the reason he kills—is because he’s doing it to protect something. Just reminds me of that bit of Stampede where Vash asks Wolfwood if he has something he wants to protect above anything else. And how protect has a different meaning to each of them—for Wolfwood it’s about who he’d kill for and for Vash it’s about what he would do to save them. Idk, there might be more there but I’m having a hard time explaining it.
Vash has a moment of doubt in front of Wolfwood! He admits he’s not always sure of what he’s doing. I kind of read Wolfwood’s silence as him not knowing what to say to that because he wasn’t expecting that
Okay, but how hidden is this place really if there’s a platform and an elaborate construction to get into it. Are you telling me no one has stumbled on it before and wondered where it led?
Vash is so afraid when he opens the door! His first thought is of all the horrors his enemies have promised to him and he doesn’t know if he can face it
Look at him!! He’s so sweet! He’s relieved and immediately goes to play with the kids. (While Wolfwood just poses lol)
Oh god, he gets teary eyed, he’s so happy! How rarely have people reacted to his presence with joy or care?
How dare!! This was cruel. Crueler then if he’d walked in on corpses. He’s literally given something he wants so deeply and then has it snatched away
Ch7
Wolfwood really went, “I’m done listening to your bullshit” and interrupted Leonof’s evil villain speech. Respect.
Ooooh, Wolfwood did it because he was angry. He felt Leonof was too cruel! He cares so much about Vash already.
Hey um so…did Leonof just say his puppets used to be people?!?! That he dissected while they were alive?!?!?! Yeah, no wonder this guy is unimaginably cruel.
Oh, Vash is angry. I love how he’s drawn when he’s like this. He disappears behind his glasses and his face gets very still. That’s when you know he means business.
Vash is crying blood!? And he’s so angry he’s emanating some weird aura that paralyzes Wolfwood and emits a “sensation of death.” I’m actually having trouble finding the words to describe how I feel because this is a very different Vash from the one we’re used to. It’s jarring and terrifying to see him like this. And that feeling also reminds Wolfwood again that Vash isn’t human, something Wolfwood is very fixated on.
Despite that, when Gray the Ninelives appears and Wolfwood makes eye contact with Vash, he doesn’t immediately go to shooting him! We’re making progress already.
That’s that for this volume! Excited to get started on the next one and see how the big showdown with Leonof goes!

I love manga Chrollo the best. Then I love 1999, and then 2011. They all are great to me. I noticed that 1999 chrollo is closest to manga Chrollo. I don’t get why they changed up Chrollo in 2011. I see that they make him taller, give him more sharper features, and give his hair a purple hue. As for his eyes, it’s grey, but in the other versions they’re dark and you can’t see the actual color. That’s why I’m wondering what eye color is the correct version, or if his eyes is grey but it’s only noticeable when you get close to him.
When you compare the art references for the 1999 you’ll see that they keep the heights correctly. In the 2011 version they have Chrollo taller than Shalnark, and Pakunoda. When Chrollo is shorter than Paku, and with shalnark he’s the same height. It makes me wonder, will they continue to follow the 2011 version, or the manga when they animated more of the manga.
Yep, Chrollo is holding onto that guilt. That he was the one that caused their deaths. Like he did with Sarasa. His demeanor is different from the death of Uvo, and Paku, because he didn’t cause their death, but he still felt someway about their deaths. Though with these recent deaths in the PT, he only has himself to blame. Though that’s why he’s had enough of Hisoka, and is ready to kill him permanently.
Though, I wonder if Chrollo will die, because they showed his backstory. That there is a sign that a character will eventually die, unless a twist happens.
Hisoka feels more like a main character compared to Chrollo. That I feel like he may survive, or he might die at the same time with Chrollo. Hisoka wants to battle the strongest person, and will do anything to make them want to come for him.
Now, that I’m hearing all of this talk of PT not being responsible for the Kurta clan massacre. It’s something that would be the biggest reveal if PT didn’t cause it. Yet, they haven’t denied any involvement in it to Kurapika. Plus, it doesn’t mean they are innocent. They kill people, from the York new massacre, and the people from Hisoka’s and Chrollo’s fight.
I like to think Chrollo isn’t picky with food, or drinks, but he wants the experience of having expensive meals, not because they are better but rather that they are expensive. He would enjoy a homemade meal, even if he hadn’t known what it is from growing up in a junkcity. For drinks he tends to drink wine. So I see that as his favorite drink.
Chrollo would have needs, but it’s not frequent. I see him wearing protection during the act. Due, to his secrecy he can’t just go to any establishment where they’ll have his dna. He does not have any public records. Him using a fake name, would still trace him if he does get checked every time he has sexual encounters. He would get checked using the black market. That way they won’t have his dna in their database.
I agree that he would only be into sex with the person he is in love. Beforehand, He would check their sexual history, to make sure they are healthy too. His sex drive would fluctuate depending on the mood.
Chrollo had nice hair. I don’t see it as greasy. I see people talking about him looking back with his slicked back hair, but I don’t agree with them. He looks great regardless. I can see his hair being greasy in the beginning when he first started wearing his hair back, but he learned how to improve the look.
Old movies would be something he would like, but I see him more into documentaries, nature, historical, and biographies.
I could see him having nightmares, but it’s not as frequent. That would explain why he’s a light sleeper, and why he occupies himself with books all the time. It helps keep the thoughts away at night.
Ahhh, the last one got me. To see his dead friends again, and be who they originally wanted to be before those evil people took it away from them. They just wanted to have fun, and bring joy to the other kids, but that all changed. Especially Chrollo, after reading that note, something changed in him when he read it, and he could no longer be that innocent emotional boy anymore. It makes me wonder how life for them would be if Sarasa never died. Would the Kurta clan still be alive? would Meteor city still be as harsh? Would their outlook on the world change as they got older?

I’m honestly happy that someone brought up the hight difference in 1999 and 2011. And in my opinion manga chrollo slicked back hair is the best look he has with the cross tattoo and the earings.
Yep he would definitely check himself up in the black market not a hospital and he really cares about his partner health in general.

B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
The main plot of “Oh Christmas Tree” was inspired by my best friend who had a really bad allergic reaction when he was trying to dispose of his Christmas tree a couple of years ago. I loved the idea of Bradley being so excited to get his first live tree only to discover he was allergic, and then somehow ending up (very enthusiastically) with the most ostentatious artificial tree imaginable.
G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
I was literally just lamenting about this the other day! I had a case of writer’s block because I couldn’t figure out the flow of Part 2 for “Give Me Your Hand/Here Is My Heart”. So I can write out of order, just as long as I know the overall narrative arc. But if I don’t have that figured out, even if I know the scenes I want to include, I can’t do it! 😂
K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
Of the things I’ve written, it would have to be “Days Like This”. I love this fic so much, it’s probably my favorite thing I’ve written. But it might lean more emotional than it does true angst? The reveal of the why she gets so upset gets me every time.
Of the things in my drafts, I have the intentions to write a prequel one shot for the character’s in “Like I Can” about their teenage days that would be set in that dark period in Bradley’s life after Carole dies and Mav pulls Bradley’s papers. And that one will be pretty angsty, but I’m really excited about writing it. (Here’s the babiest of snippets just for you: So he sells the house. It’s not a home if he is there alone.)

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about living in both an unconscious lack mindset and a very conscious abundance mindset. Specifically that they can play a huge role in how we’re manifesting, living from having our needs met, and how we show up in life.
Our Mindset can often tell us a lot about how we’re even taking action in life.
In my experience, all of those things are important to living from sustainable energy of support and increase your general well-being.
It’s important to know how you’re getting your needs met, it’s important to know how you’re taking motivational action directed in the right energy, and it’s also important to see:
How you do one thing, is very likely how you are doing everything.
And our Mindsets can show us a lot about how our energy is behaving. LIKE A LOT!
