So this is basically a Secret Agent AU

Sun and Moon, two of the top agents in their field are tasked with stopping Y/N, an ex-agent turned international super thief. Sun and Moon are the only people to have captured them (even though they escaped during transport) and the only ones so far to fully figure out their clues and secrets left behind.

Meanwhile Y/N enjoys the challenge of a good heist, even more so with a couple of agents on their heels. They always leave behind a paper star at each heist location as a calling card, and Sun and Moon were the first to realize they leave hints for what their next target is going to be.

Sun is a bit of a tinkerer in this AU, often testing and creating new gadgets for him and Moon to use in the field! He's better at hacking ane coding than he is at inventing and mechanics, but a few of his inventions have proven quite useful

Moon is far better at putting Sun's gadgets to use than Sun is, but he's also known for being resourceful and quick on his feet. He's still got an old injury that was never properly repaired right but that doesn't stop him.

Y/N was once the agency's top operative, specializing in disguise and covert missions. After a huge mission gone awry Y/N took a year off duty before suddenly abandoning the agency and become a world renowned thief. Nobody is quite sure how or why and Y/N refuses to explain.

As much as Y/N adores the two they aren't the type to pull their punches. Often tying the agents up to make a get away or roughing them up in a fist fight. They're the very definition of a wild card. Nobody can ever be sure if they'll slip in and out of a heist through stealth or make a big show out of pulling off a caper, and that uncertainty makes the entire organization jumpy which is just how Y/N likes it

thinking about how fucked up curtwen is and how we don’t always account for it

Personally, I think as a group we give Owen way too much slack and empathy. The events of the show may have been kickstarted by Curt, I’d but Owen’s equally at fault if not more. I also think we put way too much in that they were actually so close pre-canon. Their relationship is a product of their situation, not because they we’re perfect for each other. They both had MASSIVE ego issues, and dialogue in A1P1 and One Step Ahead shows that they BOTH have/had massive egos. They clashed, but they were all the other had. At the very least, they understood each other’s situation, but it’s not like they had options.

The reason why I and many others still jump on the bandwagon of this absolute mess of a relationship is just because like… they’re fun. Realism and plot aside who doesn’t wanna take stock in a “found love in a world that doesn’t allow it” in both their sexualities and their lifestyles. The thought that they would chose each other anyway even if it was modern times and could be with anyone else is engaging. They’re traumatized and have cute banter and we’re given so little of pre and post canon to work with that we can do whatever the hell we want. Do I think there’s any good reason Curt should’ve let Owen live at the end of the show? Absolutely not. (Like actor Curt Mega himself said, it was kinda equivalent to putting down a dying dog out of its own misery.) But redeeming Owen in fanworks despite this is fun, so who gives a crap?

So that’s my take on it. Canon Curtwen is an unstable mess that was always on borrowed time, but adding layers and flair to what they have in the musical using little lines of dialogue and reasoning to justify it is uhhhh really stupid fun!! So I spend my free time drawing them being cutesy together anyway.

There's something in this life left to live or, giving these two fools a soft moment because they deserve it. not gonna lie, I got a bit emotional when making this. I wrote something from Astarion's perspective to go along with it:

And I let that ancient rhythm fall away. I was free to walk off that tired path, and now, everything is new. How will life surprise me when I allow myself to participate? I was struck with wonder to know that there are people in this world like you. Could you have ever guessed we would end up here, back when we were strangers on the hillside? I didn't have the strength to imagine it. Now, I find myself thinking: Where will we end up tomorrow? What wonders will we behold? There will be such love and such joy, and such hardship to balance it. But for the first time, I feel I am courageous enough to face it, because I am not alone anymore. I will be with you here, beneath this moonlight, beneath this canopy. And afterwards, I hope you will imagine with me all the life we have left to live.
