The local news does a ridiculous little segment between the end of the actual news at noon, and the national “we’re not a talk show REALLY” program what follows it. It’s presented as local highlights and friendly-person-onna-couch interviewing a local business owner of some flavor, but let’s face it; it’s a local commercial. For Reasons, today this segment wasn’t muted as we all scarfed down lunch, and I’m...boggling.
The store is basically an attempt to ride on Harry Potter and similar franchises’ popularity - wands, creepy dolls, that sort of thing, which ok, I don’t think is enough to sustain them, but sure, good luck with that.
Then they mentioned they have a place to “brew potions.” Which. Whut? I couldn’t figure if this meant booze, or pretty-bottles-of-unusual-colors-to-stick-on-a-shelf (or cosplay with), but after a bit it was explained to be novelty drinks.
Which was a weird letdown, since I don’t drink alcohol. I guess I’m just weirdly jaded about novelty drinks? ANYway. To add to The Experience, it’s not just novelty drinks, it’s novelty drinks made of cutesy-boo named ingredients. “Mermaid’s tears” was mentioned, which...ohkaaay?
And then.
And then they said you can make a drink with something called “unicorn cream.”
Take a moment with me.

I don’t care HOW filthy your mind is or not, the longer I consider what that might be, the worse the options are! Even if it’s the most pleasant “from the finest organic Elvish farms and blessed by a herd of unicorns! :D” concept,

For giggles, I watched My Little Pony: A New Generation the other day. (It’s fluffy entertainment that is SO PRETTY and not obnoxious in ways that bug me, so I enjoyed.)
I learned two things.
Presumably due to never getting into Buffy, I can never remember which dude is James Marsters and which is James Marsden. This led to a LOT of mental confusion and mild hilarity about Spike being in MLP, as compared to the actual MLP character named Spike, and the strange mental combinations that followed.
The only way I can hear a difference between James Marsden and Shannon McCormick is that Marsden doesn’t get NEARLY shrill enough when agitated, and this both confused and disappointed me greatly. (Much of the early part of the movie was a game of “Is that Wash? It sure sounds like Wash! :D YAY, I’m glad he’s getting awesome voice work - No, wait, that is definitely not Wash he is NOT yelling the right way but BOY he sure speaks close to Wash I AM SO CONFUSED who is this imposter???”)
I am, however, now also stuck with the mental image of Actual Disney Prince Agent Washington with all the animal companions and cackling fit to scare the neighbors ever since.
Against my better judgement, tagging @rootbeerflotsam in hopes that it entertains and he knows how awesome he is!

I was today years old when I finally twigged to the fact that the Fantastic Four are supposed to represent the four classical elements, and this makes me absolutely furious because I was today years old and someone basically had to point it out to me.
This does, however, explain so many things about Reed Richards.

Earlier I was puttering about in Galaxy of Heroes, and I ran across a user that was basically calling themselves Darth Reyling.
Now, intellectually, I know this is meant as “Dark Lord Rey (diminutive)”.
But I could not stop myself from immediately thinking “AH HAH! THIS sith is the reason nothing in Star Wars is OSHA compliant! Talk about plans that run for centuries; Sidious ain’t got nothing on this jerk’s long-term influence!”

In defense of the Jedi, I’d like to point something out about Episode II.
Imagine you’re Obi-Wan. You’ve seen a lot of weird shit and trauma in your 30-odd years working as a government subcontractor, then while chasing down a lead and pulling a scooby-doo, you stumble over a group of folks who are taking ‘civil war reenactment’ as a suggestion for real life choices, including trying to murder an old acquaintance of yours.
Then your weird eccentric distant uncle shows up – the one you’ve heard of but never met, that cut off the entire rest of the family for reasons? you guess?, but you don’t even hear gossip at Thanksgiving – he shows up, and he’s turned into this apocalypse prepper and is running this shitshow. After condoning the torture the locals did to you while you were doing your job investigating attempted murder, he swans up and says that the president is Satan – literal, actual Lucifer the Devil – and going to try to destroy the world. The Final Days are nigh. BUT if you join his freedom fighters, y’all can Do Something About That.
(Given recent history, I would like to point out that in this example, the president is inoffensive and has never said word one about revolution, and instead as far as you know has been doing his ineffective political best to keep shit together.)
And people expect the Jedi to believe that Palpatine is the threat?

Money Heist: What to Know About the International TV Phenomenon

If you haven’t tuned into Money Heist yet, you’ve been missing one of the hottest series on Netflix right now. It’s sexy, absurdist fun, an action soap opera like no other, so addictively bingeable that it has stolen the hearts of a worldwide audience. But it’s more than escapist fare. Money Heist has also become a rallying cry of resistance that is changing the world.
It almost didn’t happen. Netflix picked up Money Heist entirely by chance. If they hadn’t, the original series might have easily vanished into obscurity for English-speaking audiences. Once Netflix got it, it blew up and became their most watched non-English series.
Money Heist was originally broadcast on Spain’s Antena 3 channel in 2017 under its native title La Casa de Papel (The House of Paper). The first season was 15 episodes, told in two parts. The initial part garnered a healthy 45 million viewers but viewership plummeted when the second part was broadcast. With only half the audience remaining and the story complete, the show seemed at its end. Netflix acquired the series as part of an international catalog of titles, re-edited it into 22 shorter episodes, re-released it internationally later that year. The streamer didn’t even bother to promote it when they added to their queue. Nevertheless, it found a huge audience outside of Spain and viewership skyrocketed.
Season 1 is about a meticulously planned heist of the Royal Mint of Spain. The Professor (Álvaro Morte) is a criminal mastermind who assembles a gang of thieves. Each thief adopts the name of a city to conceal their true identities from each other, akin to the robbers in Reservoir Dogs. The story is told from the perspective of Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó), a brazen spitfire femme fatale who steals every scene she’s in. The thieves capture the Mint, taking dozens of hostages. Their plan is to print millions in unmarked bills. Meanwhile, the Professor plays a cat-and-mouse game with Inspector Murillo (Itziar Ituño) who is hot on his trail.
Don’t Fall in Love During a Heist
Through Tokyo’s narration and copious flashbacks to the planning of the crime, Money Heist tells a gripping story of the ultimate anti-heroes. As tensions mount, the gang is at one another’s throats while navigating the Professor’s deceptive instructions. The Mint is surrounded by cops and time is running out. Gratuitous shots of ticking clocks increase the pressure, the same device deployed by original Mission: Impossible TV series to heighten suspense. Stockholm syndrome takes hold as the hostages fall for their captors. In classic Money Heist style, the main hostage who joins the gang adopts the name “Stockholm (Esther Acebo)”. The Professor and the Inspector engage in a deliciously dysfunctional romance. It’s all exceedingly sexy with the beautiful actors often scantily clad, and has a subversively sharp sense of humor.
Despite its ludicrousness, Money Heist is so addictive in many ways. First off, it masters the cliffhanger. The suspense is relentlessly palpable and no matter how ridiculous some of the deus ex machina resolutions are, they’re still great fun to watch. Just like Game of Thrones, this show is merciless. Beloved main characters die in shockingly poignant death scenes. This keeps the suspense very real. You never know if your favorite character is going to make it. Of the seven thieves that enter the Mint with Tokyo – Berlin (Pedro Alonso), Denver (Jaime Lorente), Helsinki (Darko Perić), Moscow (Paco Tous), Nairobi (Alba Flores), Oslo (Roberto Garcia Ruiz) and Rio (Miguel Herrán) – three don’t make it out.
Secondly, it’s about those characters. The ensemble cast delivers great performances across the board. Every role is rich, complex, and well-developed. Everyone has his or her strengths, weaknesses, and back stories and their emotional journeys resonate deeply. No one is entirely innocent. You can’t help yourself from rooting for them, even the villains.
And third, Money Heist has style. Its passionate soundtrack has captured the ears of the world. The use of color, particularly red against darkly composed frames, is exquisitely captivating. Money Heist is a thrilling roller coaster ride that just has to be experienced.
Enjoy It Until the Party is Over
The global following shocked the cast and crew. After season 1 wrapped, the show seemed finished. As the cast watched their social media following grow exponentially (an experience catalogued in Netflix’s documentary, Money Heist: The Phenomenon), they knew something was up. By 2018, Money Heist garnered several nominations and wins across the European awards circuit and even won the coveted Best Drama Series at the 46th International Emmys.
Consequently, Netflix reassembled the cast and crew for a second season, this time with a much bigger budget. Even though season 1 was self-contained, the show’s creator Álex Pina dreamed up a second season, one that was on a much grander scale, thanks to Netflix’s backing.
The second heist is in four parts. That may sound confusing because the upcoming season 5 will be split into two parts as well. Season 5 is actually parts 3 and 4 of the second heist story arc. “Heist 2” is already 16 episodes deep and it’s only the halfway point.
For the second heist, the gang must reassemble to rescue one of their own after Tokyo makes another grievous mistake. And that rescue hinges upon robbing the Bank of Spain. New gang members join the survivors of the first robbery, and another more ruthless adversary, the pregnant Inspector Sierra (Najwa Nimri). Sierra is a more ruthless opponent than Murillo was for the first heist. When it comes to the Professor’s psychological chess game, Sierra flips the chess board upside down. Season 3 (Part 1 of the Bank of Spain heist) debuted exclusively on Netflix in the summer of 2019. Season 4 (Part 2) was released almost a year later in April 2020, and it was seen by 65 million households. That’s a million more viewers than watched Tiger King when it ran around the same time.
Realizing they had a bankable hit, Netflix released Money Heist: The Phenomenon. The documentary showcases the astonishment of the cast and crew as they navigate their new found popularity from a show they thought was done. A season 2 opening scene, filmed in front of the historic Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral in Florence, Italy, was almost ruined when rabid fans rushed the crew. However, do not watch Money Heist: The Phenomenon before seeing the show because it drops some major spoilers.
We Are Dali
To hide their identities, the gang wears masks based on the famous Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali, replete with a red hooded jumpsuit. They force their hostages to wear the same costume to confuse the police. This Dali mask has become a new symbol of international rebellion, supplanting the Guy Fawkes mask from V for Vendetta on a global scale. Beyond Comic-Con cosplaying, the Dali mask has been appearing on protestors and in effigies around the world. Footage from these real life demonstrations appear in the show.
Money Heist has had a profound effect on international football (“soccer” for we Yanks). Massive displays of Dali mask banners appeared at Saudi Arabia soccer stadiums. At the Karaiskaki Stadium, Greek soccer fans unfurled a huge Dali banner too. After their team won, they rushed the field wearing Money Heist costumes. Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar de Silva even makes a cameo in season 3 as a monk who wryly comments about his disdain for soccer. Silva claims Money Heist is his favorite show.
There were even real life copycat heists. France fell victim to a shop hold-up and a hotel robbery where the perpetrators wore Dali masks. A 2019 daylight heist of the Mexican Mint was thought to have been inspired by the show. Perhaps the best one was when Justin Bieber’s five-billion-view music video ‘Despacito’ was hacked on YouTube. The hackers replaced it with an image of Money Heist in full Dali regalia with guns pointing out, accompanied by a call to ‘Free Palestine.’
Consequently, there has been some backlash. Cyprus banned Dali costumes for Carnival. Turkish journalists and politicians have admonished the show, describing it as rebel propaganda. The Professor describes it best in season 3. “The mask has become a symbol throughout the world of resistance, of indignations, of skepticism. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that it has inspired many people.”
Ironically, Money Heist pilfered Dali’s image. The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation never gave the show its blessing for the use of the artist’s likeness. There’s no doubt that Dali is spinning in his grave for not getting paid royalties, but he must appreciate the surrealism here.
Bella Ciao!
Beyond the now iconic Dali mask, Money Heist also revived a rebel ballad, the Italian protest song Bella Ciao. Bella Ciao means ‘Goodbye Beautiful’ and it was the anthem of anti-fascists of the Italian Resistance during WWII. Originally about toiling in rice fields under an oppressive boss, the lyrics evolved to describe the Resistance’s commitment to the cause with their lives. When translated from Italian, the lyrics end with “This is the flower of the partisan who died for freedom.”
The Professor’s grandfather fought in the Italian resistance so he sings it with Berlin, his older brother, and teaches it to the gang. The song is frequently reprised throughout the series, most tellingly during the season 1 part 1 finale end credits. A montage of black-and-white footage decrying the evils of money fades to red as Bella Ciao plays.
Since Money Heist, over a dozen new versions of Bella Ciao have climbed the charts across Europe, with the Professor’s rendition placing first in Austria, second in Germany, and in the top twenty in Belgium, France, and Switzerland. It’s been covered by several EDM DJs like Steve Aoki and Hardwell. Bella Ciao has become a common chant at soccer matches, and was heard at the 2019 World Cup. When Open Arms rescued a boatload of fleeing immigrants docked in Lampedusa, the refugees sang Bella Ciao to celebrate their newfound freedom.
The Last Times are Beyond Comparison
What might the finale hold? When we last left the gang, they were reunited in the Bank of Spain and determined to win ‘the war’ in honor of their latest fallen comrade. But Inspector Sierra got the drop on the Professor. With a gun to his head, she declared “Checkmate, son of a bitch.” Anyone who knows the show understands that it is volatile and unpredictable so it’s anyone’s guess what happens next.
It’s clear that this is the end. When production wrapped on May 14th, Netflix tweeted “Thank you to all the fans for being part of La Resistencia! We can’t wait to show you how this story ends.” However, Netflix is never one to kill a goose that lays golden eggs.
Money Heist creator Álex Pina already launched another Netflix series, Sky Rojo. Season 1 premiered back in March 2021 and season 2 is slated for July. It’s the story of three women on the run, somewhat reminiscent of Thelma and Louise, only the threesome are prostitutes. It’s stylish and sexy, and received some critical acclaim. But it has nowhere near the impact of Money Heist.
A Korean adaptation of Money Heist is in the works with Kim Hong-sun directing. Cast as the Professor is Yoo Ji Tae, who is most remembered for his mastermind role in Oldboy, and also had a part in a Korean TV adaptation of The Good Wife. Playing Tokyo will be Jeon Jong Seo, aka Rachel Jun, a newcomer with two feature films under her belt.
This summer, an immersive event “Money Heist: The Experience” is set to tour London, Miami, Mexico City, New York, and Paris. Each city will get a different version of the experience, adapted to the venue, and the venues won’t be announced until just prior to the events open. This is another collaboration between Netflix and Fever, who previously staged “Stranger Things: The Drive Into Experience” in Los Angeles.
Most of the cast of Money Heist were too engaged with filming the final season under pandemic restrictions to take on any new projects. The notable exception of Úrsula Corberó. Corberó is cast as the Baroness in the upcoming G.I. Joe Origins film, Snake Eyes.
Money Heist held the title of Netflix’s most watched non-English series until a French show, ironically also about a heist, stole the crown. Lupin robbed Money Heist of the title in January 2021 racking up 76 million views. Lupin Part 2 debuted on June 11. When Money Heist returns, will it steal back Netflix’s most watched non-English series crown? Hopefully so. For Nairobi!

For those who do not know Spanish, I will summarize and translate what I speak in this "interview"
This video was the idea of a friend of mine, she helped me finally break this silence that I had for 9 years, I thank her for doing this and giving me a place of trust where I can speak and feel comfortable to talk about this great trauma that I have
It is not a video that I look for where to victimize myself, nor do I seek to give pity, I only count the events as they happened, I want to get this out of my system to, maybe someday, overcome it and embrace this character that y create
As some (or very little of you) may know, I am the original creator of the creepypasta "Nina The Killer", a story of urban internet legend which I wrote at the age of 13
Mainly, which I do not talk about in the video, I create Nina because i loved Jeff, in my youth i suffered a lot from Bulliyng, and I saw too much admiration in a chaotic and dangerous character who could take revenge on the people who bothered him to the point of The madness
I created Nina to reflect my admiration for this character, Nina was the reflection of everyone who admired Jeff and wanted justice as he did
Obviously I was young, my sense of justice was still very cloudy and even dangerous, I never did anything bad or hurt anyone, but the harassment generated a lot of hatred, and instead of releasing it on my classmates, I made a creepypasta that made feel justice
In the interview, my friend asks me why I lost my relationship with Nina The Killer, since she was already such a famous creepypasta, and even, it is taken as part of the cannon for many, I soon explain that it was due to the horrible hate that i lived through.
I tell about how I did Nina after trying to make a Jeff cosplay with a purple hoodie that I had, the photo of Nina is actually me, the story, quite rough and even cringe, I wrote it at that time, even innocent and inexperienced, I could not To say that I did a great job, well, I was 13 years old, we all do cringes at that time (and the one who does not throw the stone xD)
I keep telling that in addition to Nina, i had created A Cloe the ragdoll, a creepypasta who talks about the wandering body of a girl victim of the illegal sale of organs
and a strange entity in the disguise of a rabbit that protected children from adults, in an extreme way, he calle psychopath rabbit or something
Despite the great creativity of these creepypastes, Nina was still important to me, because I identified more with her
So in a year I decided to make her one of the most famous creepypastes, I made an effort, drawing every day, updating my facebook and devianart, publishing in groups and pages of creepypastes, all that effort paid off, but let's say not the what i expected
There was a bit of hate at first, nothing that a normal person would not tolerate, I had a lot of character and conscience to tolerate the hatred of people who well, I understood that they did not like my creepypasta, I always said "not everyone is going to like what what did I do"
but this Hate was climbing to an unbearable point
I soon learned of a huge number of hate groups for Nina, and not only for the character, they hate me, because people only had to say "I hate Nina", they also said "I hate Nina's creator"
In my 14 years I could not understand why, but I kept going, that until every day I received 15 to 20 comments on my DA and messages on my Facebook, telling me that Nina sucked, that I was a whore, that I should die I had to commit suicide, that nobody loved me, that I wish I had an incident, that I was a motherfucker
and the list of horrible things was endless, so much so that I only received 2 to 3 comments per week telling me they liked Nina
I even admired many influencers from the creepypasta community, and many of them, horribly despised me and drew their creepypasta ocs killing Nina, and not only that, they also said horrible things about me.
I spent days crying without understanding, stressed, depressed, and then I decided to end it, that along with having finished with my boyfriend at the time was a breaking point that I do not wish for any 15 year old girl
I could not understand why adult, conscious, more experienced people came to the profile of a girl who only made a story and to criticize me in such brutal and horrible ways, as I said, I do not wish that on any child, I left many marks I spent a long time away from people, from myself, even I deal with self-esteem problems, I have very little self-confidence and I spent many years in depression
that caused me rejection and generated a lot of people who now wanted to take over Nina, to tell the truth, I never sold it legally, for copyrights, Nina is still my property, although I wanted to deny it for a long time, I am not now, I am the creator of Nina, it is something that I cannot change, but it is something that I also want to leave behind, something that even today, with my 22 years of age, I am finding it difficult to overcome
I want to thank these friends who make me feel good about this who help me to overcome it, I do not seek to generate any hatred with this, rather, I want to raise awareness about what people say on the internet, sometimes they are just written words, but there are to be careful of how it affects the other person behind the screen, also to be aware of the youngest, children do a lot of nonsense, do not hurt them, they are children, they do not know what they are doing and that is normal, our duty as adults is to tell them what is right and what is wrong, not to insult them for their mistakes
Thanks for getting here and reading this, I've been through a lot but I want to hug Nina again and maybe give her the well-deserved story one day, something interesting and true to the creepypastas

And we’re back with another Thompson demigod, this time we have a daughter of Ares! Lilith was pretty much absent for the most part, and usually left her children to their own devices while she slept around with the gods of Olympus. Before Ares appeared to her in her senior year of college, she never knew who her father was since her powers seemed pretty normal in comparison to her brothers. All her life, she had always figured some guy scammed their mother into thinking that he was a Greek god and they just happened to have her. She didn’t mind being the normal kid in the family. She could definitely hold her own against her brothers when it came down to it.
disclaimer: Wyatt had been assigned male at birth, so I shall be using male pronouns to convey her history prior to her transition in order for you to understand her confusion and dysphoria.
As a child, Wyatt had been terrified of the barber’s and didn’t like the idea of sharp objects close to his face, so he would make a big fuss every time someone tried to cut his hair. Lilith just couldn’t be bothered with it and let him grow it out. Since he was the baby of the family, he usually got all of Noel’s and Finn’s hand-me-down clothes, which he never really minded until he got older and people in public and his classmates kept asking him why he dressed up like a boy and had a boy’s name when he had long hair.
It was around then that Lilith got called into school because Wyatt had flipped a male student over his head after he had called him a “faggot” and shoved him in the playground. They chalked it up as an act of self defense, but the guidance counselor had been concerned about how Wyatt was constantly getting bullied for his appearance and how he kept getting into fights. When they had gotten home, Lilith sat Wyatt down and told him that he should cut his hair, so that people would stop bullying him. He had been terrified by this solution at first, but he was old enough to know that this was just a necessary evil that he had to go through. He cried during the whole thing. When it was over and he he saw himself in the mirror, it was like he was looking at a completely stranger. Lilith explained that it was because he had never gotten his hair cut during his whole six years of life, but he would later realize that it had been much more than that.
Ever since then, Wyatt had been struggling to find the words to describe how he was feeling. He’d always have a fascination for Lilith’s outfits and loved getting into his mother’s closet to try out her clothes, heels and makeup. He used to sit on Lilith’s bed helping her decide what outfits she would wear to meet up her date for that night. When puberty starting hitting a few of his female classmates at age 10, he wondered why he wasn’t developing like them and going through what they were going through. He broke down in front of Noel thinking that there was something wrong with him. Seeing as all of them never really had fathers, Lilith had to explain to him that boys developed differently; they grew a lot more body hair, their voices dropped and so did their balls. This only made Wyatt cry even more and exclaim that he didn’t want to be a gross man. (will be using female pronouns from here on out)
By chance around the age of 12, she found a documentary of a young, trans woman on Youtube, and she had a sort of light-bulb moment where she could finally put what she was feeling into words. She did extensive research on the proper terms and what her course of action could be to stop herself from developing into a boy. She found articles on trans people getting institutionalized for preaching their truths, and she had been terrified about coming out to her family as her gender dysphoria grew worse. She first showed Noel a video about it to gauge his reaction, since they were very close. When he gave a positive response, she asked if he was okay with with her being a trans female and ultimately came out to him. To this day, Noel and her are still very close, and he was the one who helped her come out to their mother and eventually to Finn.
She started going on male hormone blockers on her 13th birthday and eventually began using estrogen for a while when she finally told Finn. He was always set in his ways, and he only really saw things in black and white. It took him a while to really accept her, but by then she had already begun to feel validated. Her grades were up and she had been joining local art competitions in their little town. But as she was beginning to present like a girl, she got more bullied in school, so she had to drop out and begin homeschooling. This gave her more time to draw and gain the confidence to share her story in little animated short clips on Youtube. She began branching out into making costumes for conventions for her online friends, and one of them convinced her to try out cosplaying. By the time she had graduated high school at 16, she had already developed a following online and decided she wanted to major in Animation after she had bottom surgery. When she had recovered, she applied to California Institute of the Arts (CALARTS) and got an got a scholarship for BFA in Character Animation. She graduated cum laude and moved to Icaria with Finn. She did a little freelance animation for companies, but it was when she talked at conventions that she had found her calling. She immediately applied to the Faculty of Animation at Icaria Univeristy and was easily accepted as one of their professors. She does some freelance modeling and joins cosplay competitions on the side.

I guess I shouldn’t expect it as a norm though.) I thought Kai was a dude though and so Bull’s interactions came off to me as massively gay. I’ve been thinking, maybe he’s pan? Can dogs be pansexual???

Lately, I’ve been thinking about practical cosplay (everyday wear that also doubles as a cosplay outfit). So basically, I’ve been thinking about Sakaido and El-Melloi II’s outfits a lot, since they’re rather practical while still looking cool. All I’m missing for El-Melloi’s outfit with the red jacket is a black button-up shirt, for El-Melloi’s outfit with the black jacket I’m missing a red scarf and I’m missing a brown button-up shirt for Sakaido’s (although the yellow scarf I got today to get one step closer to two of those isn’t the right mustard colour, it’s more of a lighter yellow).
Also, I noticed it’s (according to the katakana) meant to be “Id: Invaded”, but heck, it’s been ID: Invaded for so long for me, I don’t care either way.
Kiki was born in Fukui.
I always thought Mister Fixer sounded sad and now I think I know why…the bit I remember the most (the line that goes “Mister Fixer” and the bit around it) sounds like the singer is lamenting their life. Now that I see the visuals again after a few weeks (I’d get fatigued if I watched all that Fate/ and still managed to keep up with simulcasts, so I’ve been taking the simulcasts in a few eps at one time), Mister Fixer does quite sound like a crime drama song, but not as much as Thought I Knew (from Stand My Heroes).
I’ve seen images of Anaido and Sakaido in the same well for a few weeks now, so this cooperation bit is no surprise at all.
I believe Fukuda is asking why Narihisago is a –san to her even though they’ve worked together a while.

Does Anaido remember who he is in the ID Well? I presume not, but it’s hard to tell since we haven’t had as much time with him as we have Sakaido (not to mention I’ve been regularly filling my head with Fate/ and other things as well lately…so it’s hard to remember).
It’s interesting. Fukuda has the same piercings as Anaido (and even a ring on one pointer finger that matches them!), so he must’ve tried experimenting with…more legal holes, to put it one way…before getting his most iconic one.
Kaeru’s nails are chipped. Hmm.
In #Brake-Broken, which I read the first chapter of earlier (there’s a sample on the Young Ace website), Sakaido notices he doesn’t have a phone with him to call anyone or a licence (because in that manga, he wakes up in a car). It’s likely this will work the same way and Anaido won’t have any possessions on him, aside from the clothes on his back, accessories and the item that was stolen from his wrist/s.
Rings on both fingers…so I should be talking about them in plural. Update: I like how Anaido’s off-the-wall thought processes break up the inherent seriousness of Sakaido’s deductions and utilitarian way of doing things.

Okay, so for the sake of my practical cosplay, I knew I’d need this episode. Sakaido wears a long-sleeve brown shirt with some kind of shirt under that (either brown or black), plus a mustard-coloured scarf. (Note El-Melloi II wears a black shirt under his black button-up shirt, so I went with black as well.) In Brake Broken, I also noticed he wears dark socks (or that could be the leggings) and runners with a lightning bolt on them (I had to make do with generic black runners with a white stripe on the bottom), plus the iconic brown shorts over those (with a triangle pattern)…Why does Sakaido have a scarf anyway, versus Anaido and Miyo who don’t? As much as I like scarves, especially where colder weather is involved, getting a specific colour scarf was a bit of a headache to be honest, since I took 3 trips before deciding on the one I was going to buy (and even then, someone got it before me! The scarf I have now was my 2nd choice). Update: The shorts, leggings and undershirt are black, but I don’t know if Sakaido is wearing any socks or if they’re black too.
Just to note what Anaido has as well (although a coat like that, with the red detailing and flaps, would be hard to find…), he has a blue coat, suspenders, a white button-up top, a string tie (had to google what that was called, although its name is pretty obvious now that I know), black pants (which kinda look like leggings, but they’re not) and leather boots.
Now Sakaido can go into the loony bin…he’s talking to Kaeru.
Is Anaido going in circles? Sakaido caught up real fast…
Um, hey, protip: When stuck in quicksand, try to “float” on it. If you move, you’ll sink into it more. I don’t know how I know that, but I did stick it into my mind for times like this.
Notably, Anaido is about a head taller than Sakaido. Either Sakaido is unnaturally short and Anaido is average…or Anaido is just tall in that way some men are.

Talks Machina Highlights - Critical Role C2E50 (Feb. 5, 2019)
Are any of us ever, really, on the internet?
This week’s guests are Taliesin Jaffe and Matt Mercer!
Brian shames Taliesin and Matt for (to be fair, accidentally) pouring coke in with their 22-year-old scotch. I am also physically pained by this. I may need a minute to compose myself. (@loquaciousquark: “I like how you’re Brian in this and I’m Matt.”)
Announcements: MAME drop airs three hours before Talks every week! Next week’s Between the Sheets will feature Will Friedle, and last night’s episode featured Quyen Tran! Critical Role will be taking this coming Thursday off, and Talks Machina will be taking next Tuesday off, but the show returns on Valentine’s Day!
But for now, let’s jump into Episode 50: The Endless Burrows
Stats for this week’s ep: Fjord got the 50th HDYWTDT in the 50th episode! The Roper’s crit on Caleb would have one-shotted him had Caduceus not reduced it by negating the crit. Spurt is the first on-screen guest player character death in the history of the show. Chris Perkins was at the table for 22 minutes and 15 seconds. Taliesin: “That’s an episode of network television right there.”
Chris was in town unexpectedly, and asked if he could come watch the show. Matt had written Spurt as an NPC character, just to see how the M9 would react to him. As he was driving to the studio, he realized it could be a lot of fun to let Chris play the character instead. Chris was on board, and Matt told him “You’ll know when to jump in,” and that was that. Nobody else had any idea he was going to be playing.
Caduceus is “in his element but out of his element” underground. “He’s looking for things to be excited about. Not a lot of things to be excited about here. It’s kind of awful.” Taliesin is trying to let him be a little more tactical, to just take care of things and do what needs to be done. “He’s on edge, but it’s a healthy edge.”
Matt clarifies that the party haven’t really emerged into the Underdark---they’re just skimming the edges of it. After spending a lot of time there in the last campaign, Matt didn’t necessarily want to bring it back there again.
Caduceus doesn’t see the group as being deceitful so much as just people who haven’t had the option of being open before. “He’s trying to make that option available.” Part of his training at the temple involved talking to people, helping them feel better, and helping them open up, so this is nothing new to him. Matt: “The solitary therapist.” Taliesin: “He really, really likes them.”
Spurt was originally intended to be a potential hindrance to keep the group from getting past the fire giants stealthily, if he wound up coming along with them. Turned out he... sort of removed himself from that equation.
On the parade of tragic backstories: “I don’t think Clay fully comprehends how bad this all is. I don’t know if he can comprehend art film horror. ‘That’s rough, man.’“ Matt: “He’s the Fred Tatasciore of the group.” Everyone is delighted by that comparison.
Matt was looking for opportunities to bring tragic backstories together. Taliesin calls it a “car crash” approach.
Why are D&D characters often so tragic? Taliesin: “It’s harder to make an interesting happy person.” Matt: “That’s true, but it’s not impossible.” He talks about how it’s natural to try to build something into a character’s backstory to propel them into the dangers of adventure. It’s also the opportunity for a player to work through something they’re going through out-of-game in a safe, cathartic way.
Caduceus is “still a little lanky”. Taliesin points out that this is to be expected because he’s a “vegan on the road”. There’s a long discussion about how the food he makes is “basically semi-firm tofu”.
Matt freaks out a bit about the unintentional callback... VM also being a mid-level party descending into the Underdark in search of a halfling and almost losing a rogue’s foot to lava. A lot of things had to go a particular way for that to happen, and he definitely wasn’t expecting it, especially since he was consciously trying to avoid familiar territory with the Underdark this time around.
Brian: “Which is funny, because the writers never even saw the first campaign.”
Taliesin points out that a trickster cleric is meant to be more of a toolkit, whereas a grave cleric build is more of a medkit.
Taliesin: “I’ve learned my lesson, and I have like three new character ideas ready to go, for this campaign or the next.”
There’s a lot of debate about where the hell Spurt got a skunk, which leads to the creation of the magical item Skunk Jug, which produces a skunk.
Caduceus enjoyed the romance novel, but it hadn’t “entirely clicked”. “He’s aware that: ‘Ah, they’re doing the hanky-panky stuff.’ It’s not really in his wheelhouse.”
Matt was very proud of the group coming up with their plan to get past the giant, and he felt a bit bad that Nott rolled so low (although he also loves the “magnificent clusterfuck” moments that are the hallmark of D&D). Brian: “That’s just a testament to how bad Sam is as a player.”
Caduceus took Warcaster as his next feat. “This seems to be in-character and useful.”
Fan art of the week: Nott running across the lava! Taliesin: “I want to play that game. That’s an 8-bit game I want to play.”
Brian asks Matt if the game’s about where he thought it would be at episode 50. Matt: “We’re charging into Xhorhas earlier than I was expecting. We need to get Ashley back soon.” (They’ll get her back in a couple months.) He also points out that some story beats have happened in the world in the group’s absence. He didn’t want to tailor the story’s trajectory to manufacture a big moment in episode 50. The group’s involvement in the Empire has been less than expected, but the direction they’re taking is much more direct than he was expecting. Taliesin points out that if the group had been Vox Machina, they would’ve involved themselves in the politics of the war instantly. Matt reiterates that he loves DMing in a reactionary way when the players push in an unexpected direction.
All Taliesin wants to do right now is fix that sword. He’s expecting it to be, like, a +1 cursed sword that just sings constantly and can’t ever be put down.
Taliesin: “I’m enjoying corralling all the kids.” Matt points out that he’s a much-needed influence on the group. Beau is the one that Cad considers to be his best friend. Dani: “You two can’t not be best friends in this show.” Cad thinks of Fjord as an angsty teen. He thinks Caleb is occasionally up his own butt a bit. He hasn’t figured out that Jester’s an adult yet. “’Oh, she’s happy and fine. Thank goodness someone is.’ And obviously she’s not, but he hasn’t figured that out yet.” He’s disappointed in Nott for the amount of drinking, although he hasn’t said it out loud.
Taliesin: “Cad thinks dangerous things have wisdom. Sometimes just walking up to something and asking is very useful. Sometimes you can avoid getting arrested in front of a coffee shop by offering the officer a hot pocket.”
Matt talks about how getting players to avoid combat is a teaching process that involves incentivizing out-of-the-box approaches. That’s in direct contrast to the more traditional grind-through-fights approach to D&D that was prevalent in the early editions, so it can be a process. He points out that you can talk to players out-of-game, or you can change your own plans to allow players a non-combat win even if it’s a bit of a stretch.
Taliesin and Matt both own a pair of chaps. As you do.
Taliesin’s personal inspiration for Cad’s staff was very Dark Crystal-driven. The crystal comes from the land he lives on. He dug up the crystal and made the staff himself; the beetles crawl into and out of the stick continuously.

Brian: "Are you relaxed right now?” Taliesin: “Yeah, there’s something in this Coke that’s really...”
Taliesin got started with eyeliner in high school with Vampire LARPing. He had a (mumblemumble)”furk idee” that got him into goth clubs early. Matt first learned to apply eyeliner for cosplay, then wore it for the first time outside of cosplay clubbing with Taliesin (they also had an industrial goth karaoke night).
Dumbest way they’ve managed to injure themselves? Matt was editing There Will Be Brawl’s final episode, which was a bit too overambitious and he was the only editor, and he didn’t sleep for 72 hours and threw his back out horribly from sitting too long. Taliesin was doing a student film as a teenager, and was asked to do a stunt that involved holding someone up to a moving train (Matt: “What the fuck, Taliesin?”). He had really long goth nails at the time and managed to break all ten of his nails off entirely doing that stunt. “I didn’t drop him into the moving train!” Matt: “That’s why unions are good.”
Brian: “I lit myself on fire with a molotov cocktail.” Yes, really, but he wasn’t badly burned. Taliesin: “Did you at least hit the man? Did it stick to him?” Brian: “It was not a man. It was a porta-potty.” Matt reiterates how grateful he was not to have grown up with cellphone video.
Matt: “So you’re saying...” Taliesin: “I was Emperor Norton, yeah.” Matt: “Aw. I’m proud of you!”

A Bunch of Good Things from 2019
*I don’t do things consistently, so there’s chunks of time I just forgot to write. So the blank spaces are days where I could not recall the exact good things that happened.*
January
1: Started the year off right by hanging out with @nah-young, eating some delicious leftovers from New Year’s Eve and working on a puzzle. Also caught a shiny Delibird in Pokemon Go as the first catch of the year.
2: Had a headache at work, but went home to take care of myself. Dad and I talked for a long time about money and taxes without arguing. I have also discovered a future hobby I want to get into: 3D printing.
3: I cranked out four solid hours of studying. I’m going to ace the Auditing section of the CPA exam. I feel it in my bones (especially when I finally stood up and stretched).
4: My ‘other mom’ (one of my best friend’s mom) took me out for a belated Birthday lunch to our favorite Thai food place, and I enjoyed more mango sticky rice. It’s one of my new favorite desserts.
5: Did some epic New Year cleaning. Caught up on laundry, filed away my 2018 paperwork, and did some 2019 taxes. Finally on top of things!
6: A puzzle day! I connected a big piece of the sky to the side on the Lion King puzzle. I’ve still got a lot to go, but progress is being made.
7: As usual, I both surprised and pleased the teller at the bank when I moved some money from savings into my IRA. They wanted to know if it was for tax year 2018, but I could tell them last year was maxed out and it was for 2019.
8: Got to practice my training and supervising skills with @arrowhearts.
9: Spent the night at Lucy’s (she’s a cat). She’s the sweetest cat though, and was cuddling in my lap for so long! She even held my finger with her paw for like ten minutes. I love her.
10: It’s been forever, but I finally sat down and played some video games. I’m replaying Arkham Asylum again and really just exploring every nook and cranny I can find.
11: Might have started a new Francis story line ... Whoops :)
12: Helped Jane clear an apartment and acquired many new tools and art supplies to use.
13: Snow! It was snowing before bed, but I still woke up at 5 am to about 4 - 5 inches. Activated my dad gene and started shoveling at 5:30 am (sorry neighbors to the house I was dog sitting at). It’s so pretty out!
14: A quiet day, but I did some work for Jane and gamed some more. Can’t wait to start Arkham City when I get 100% on Arkham Asylum!
15: I took my coworker a basket of fun snacks from Lotte for her Birthday. She’s so excited to try them all!
16: Donated blood today and when I went to get dinner on the way home, I got a free salad! The entree was already free and I ordered a side salad. I pulled out my wallet to pay, but the coupon covered it, too!
17: Treated myself to breakfast on the way into preschool (my new volunteer place since the teacher I followed to several elementary schools is now at). Also ate some amazing home cooked food for lunch with @nah-young before going out for ice cream.
18: Did some very early spring cleaning to prep for my next yard sale and straighten up a bit.
19: Beat the storyline and finished gathering all of Riddler’s trophies in Arkham Asylum. I do still need to finish up the additional content for 100% completion.
20: Working with Jane to help clean out an apartment again and got stencils to use for my art (the ones with shapes of different sizes). I had wanted to get me a set, so I really lucked out.
21: Started reading a book for fun. Lol, I forgot that I can still read non-accounting things for fun.
22: Sent out 1099s at work. It’s always a dreaded part of the year, but it’s taken care of!
23: I started uploading my old Franmouche stories to AO3. I forgot that I’d written 185 pages of them. At least if someone else likes my rarepair, they have lots to read. No guarantees on the quality, but there is quantity.
24: Made fun penguin cutouts for the preschool class I volunteer at. Then studied for nine hours on campus. A busy, yet productive day.
25: Finished watching all my lectures for the next portion of the CPA exam! So much auditing knowledge!!!
26: Panic alleviated. My check engine light had been on for a few days. Usually it’s just a gas cap issue so I was worried, but after readjusting the cap again (which usually fixes it) and an oil change, the light went out!
27: Played some Pokemon Go for four hours with @arrowhearts and Lyla. No Kyogre, but at least we each got a Groudon. Plus, the weather was beautiful for this time of year.
28: I found a dollar today while sweeping the parking lots with my dad! I’m gonna be riding this wave for a week. (Fun fact: my dad and I used to go bike riding on Sunday afternoons/evenings in the local parking garages and look for pennies. We’d always get bragging rights when we found a quarter or more. We still get excited and tell each other of the day’s finds when we find a few coins while we’re sweeping).
29: Had a bit of a headache, but managed to get through it so I could finish the workday. Then I get some well deserved rest.
30: Met up with @nah-young for some fries and ice cream!
31: My annual physical went well! Took care of a couple test we’ve been putting off, too, and they weren’t quite as bad as I thought they’d be.
February
1: I had such a productive day in the office, even for a Friday. Special thanks to @arrowhearts for helping me move all (24 years worth) of our files.
2: Started off the day a little rough and feeling low, but I decided to go up to campus, and I’m so glad I did. I was able to help a bunch of people get to their destination. Also hung out with @nah-young and @arrowhearts in a sketchy room.
3: Technically today (starting at 1 am). Had a great talk with @nah-young about a lot of things including our friendship. Successfully avoided the Super Bowl (which I heard sucked, so that was a good use of my time).
4: Had a really good conversation with my dad for almost an hour. We had some fights earlier in the year, but it was nice to be able to connect some.
5: It’ll be silly to look back on, but I thought I lost a reference letter for a scholarship applicant, but realized I could find it on our shared drive. Such a relief!
6: I tried Duck Donuts for the first time today. One of our board members brought me and a coworker a half dozen each.
7: Caught a Miltank in Pokemon Go! I thought I missed my chance, but there was a special running, so I got it.
8: Just heard we got a new boss at work, so it’ll be nice to be full staffed again.
9: Started working on a painting for @arrowhearts. It might be my first completed artwork of the year.
10: A lazy day, but I flipped through a book on home decorating. You know, to plan for my future house.
11: Officially started working for Jane’s business. We’ll see how it goes, but at least it’s an extra couple of hours per week.
12: Finished a dog sitting job, and I’m super thankful to be sleeping in my own bed again.
13: I gave Lucy, the sweetest cat ever, a piggyback ride and it was the cutest thing ever. I was on my knees and forearms trying to get Lucy to boop my nose when she just climbed on my back and sat down. I rose up on my knees and hands and she did the “i’m not so sure but I’m going to stay here” stand and let me crawl across the floor a while before finally jumping off. I love this cat.
14: Took the auditing section of the CPA exam. I feel much better about this one than I have about the other two. We’ll see on the 26th.
15: Such a busy day at the office! It was productive, but just a lot of work.
16: Even though I just too the other exam, I managed to get a lot of studying done.
17: Mamaw and I got to chat and work on the puzzle for a while. It was nice to hang out with her since I haven’t done son in quite a while.
18: We had some really good food at our investment club meeting today. Sheppard’s pie (like meat and mashed potatoes), salad, this great cracker dip (I have no other details other than feels like sharp cheddar finally shredded with a hint of spice in some sort of sauce).
19: Our new executive director started today. I think I made a pretty good first impression!
20: Started playing Arkham City again. We had a snow day and even my office closed, so I made the most of my day.
21: Lol and today I finished the main storyline of Arkham City. Accidentally, because I was doing side quests, but Batman got mad when I tried to go finish some before the last mission.
24: I am obsessed with Excel, but I figured out a formula so that it would total certain categories even if they weren’t in order. Plus I learned how to make a drop down menu (on two versions of Excel). Guess who’s budget looks beautiful!
25: I caught a Latias in Pokemon Go. Not having much luck with the water legendaries. I wonder if they don’t like me because we picked the grass starter.
26: I passed the Auditing section! (and instead of keeping it quiet, I made a point to tell some people). Then @nah-young and I went to dinner to celebrate our successes of the day and just have a nice chat.
27: Good news: I starved off a migraine that was starting on Feb 26. Maybe this new method will help them from getting bad. Just took an Aleve with some hot tea.
28: Went on a Pokemon run, and I found $20 blowing across the yard when I got home! A nice find for the year.

1: I’ve been really getting into “Ghost Story” by Peter Straub and had so much time to just sit and read while it rained.
2: I watched “Spiderman: Enter the Spiderverse” today. An epic movie and I highly recommend it! I also have several new costume ideas...
3: Officially started working on my Library Comic Con cosplay. There’s not much to show, but it was nice to start costuming again.
4: Hiked up to the nearby bubble tea. It was good! I got a mango green tea creama. Next time I know I have to mix it up before I start drinking it.

10: Started replaying Castlevania IV. It’s been a while since I beat it, so hopefully I can still finish it!
11: I have proven myself an Excel deity. Well, at least Jane thinks though. She needed a spreadsheet for something and had some ideas so I whipped it out in five minutes flat with a bunch of formulas she didn’t even know were possible. I’m quite proud of it.
12: Lol, speaking of excel, I was geeking out over my budget with one of our board members. She was showing me how she built her itinerary in excel for her next trip and I got to show off my budget.

15: It was fake St. Patrick’s day at work, so I got to show off my green Riddler suit. Apart from being mistaken as dressing like a leprechaun a few times, I received a bunch of compliments on it. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of that suit jacket.
16: Tagged along with @nah-young to her grandfather’s birthday party and watched Bohemian Rhapsody. Apart from the timeline inaccuracies, I really enjoyed it! Look at that: two new movies in one month.
17: First big leaf job of the season. I guess the first major landscaping job. Dad helped out, so it made life easier.
18: Investment club meeting went well, and I ended up staying late to chat and help clean up, but it was enjoyable. Also had some great tiramisu from Trader Joe’s.

21: It was a downpour today, but I also made a 20 minute Costco run. Parking was great, the lines were short, and I managed to balance everything without a cart. Success!
22: Finally got around to doing invoices. It’s such a weight off my chest to take care of them.
23: I had the house to myself, so got ample studying done, played some pokemon, and treated myself to some bubble tea. Got myself a bunch of good pokes from Community day.
24: Another lovely day to sit and hang out with @nah-young. I always enjoy our hour long conversations just sitting in my car in her driveway. I also finished the lectures for the BEC portion of the CPA exam.
25: I found a gift card loaded with $30 today. It had been thrown into the dumpster, so a little gross, but it washed off nicely.
26: Ran up to the local library to turn in my books (look @arrowhearts, I did it the day before they were due and didn’t have to make a midnight run). I wasn’t going to check out more books since I already had some checked out from another library visit (I go to many branches due to my job and often check out a book or two, resulting in cycles of books due at different times), but I did anyway. I started reading Area X, too, and so far, I’m really enjoying it.
27: Our family’s accountants think I’m a bit weird because I was so excited to get my tax papers back even though I owed money. I was just like “cool!” to all the facts and things on my sheets, which is apparently not what they’re used to, but one of the new tax laws works in my favor as small business income is taxed at a lower rate or something.

6: The Jubilee is over!!! What a relief! A lot of things went well, and I heard it was a lot of people’s favorite. Not sure what actually happened because I was stationed at check in/out all night, but hopefully the silent auction results are good. Huge shout out to @arrowhearts and @nah-young for getting me through the night!

8: I know everyone at work is saying I should take time off, and I didn’t, but I’m actually feeling blessed that I have the physical and mental stamina to keep working on things. Plus, I need to catch up with post Jubilee stuff.

3: My gauntlets for my comic con costume look so cool! They’re a little stabby (there’s staples on the inside, although I should be able to tape it down for safety), but overall look cool for a first draft.
4: A long day, but I feel like I was really able to help my friend and her family, which is nice considering how much they do for me.
5: The event that happened wasn’t good, but I’ve been humbled as to how well our house was kept and motivated to try and become more organized.
6: Dad and I were chatting today, and we could even touch on topics in a civil manner. It was quite nice!
7: Just found out I passed the BEC section of the CPA exam! I’m 75% CPA!!! And no cavities were found after my dentist appointment :)
8: Frantically working on my costume, but my head piece looks really good!
9: Mom even chipped in to help. We rigged up a steampunk mask I have (which doesn’t fit on my head right) so that I can actually wear it.
10: I’ve been fasting for Ramadan and I think my body and I are finally on the same page. It was a rough start this year, but I’m looking forward to focusing on being thankful for what I have and working on self discipline.
11: Library Comic Con! My costume is a bit rough, so no final pictures, but I have plans to make it better!
12: It was a busy Sunday. Lots of lawns, but thankfully the weather was cool.

17: Had a nice meeting with my boss. I keep feeling like I’m not on top of things or she’s disappointed, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Plus, she said I did great at the finance committee meeting, so that was nice.
18: Although I scared everyone I worked with all day, I was able to donate blood even though I had been fasting.
19: I saw the tiniest inch worm while I was pulling weeds today. It was more like a quarter inch worm and it was just trying so hard to climb up my arm when I found it. I also saw the first lightening bugs of the year. As a bug type Pokemon trainer, I’m quite pleased with all of this (less so with the mosquitoes though, as I got my first bite of the season).
20: I have found a nice way to keep cool at the property Dad and I work at. I’m allowed to douse my head, neck, and hat with the hose, and man does it feel good!
21: I received many compliments at the executive committee meeting for all my hard work on the budget, the Jubilee, and finance committee.
22: Caught up on reconciliations at work (finally). It’s been just a nightmare, but I’m happy they’re done.
23: Another me day. I’ve been taking Thursdays off and got to game for a bit but also accomplish a lot of laundry and studying.
24: Had a good meeting at work to discuss the future of the nonprofit I work at. Plus I finally made a phone call I didn’t want to make.
25: Went to a foam helmet making class with a coworker. I’m super excited to start trying out this style, and I think the sample we made in class can easily be used to make a helmet for Vile. Might have purchased a few things to go with it :)
26: Found a new drink that I love from Kung Fu Tea! Also got to rewatch Coco, which is always good.
27: Part of my afternoon spent working with Jane was changing her screen saver. It was set up for one photo of pictures, but some were so fuzzy, so we set up new pictures and I got to add my fuzzball to the reel.
28: I visited one of Jane’s friends to discuss dog sitting and we had such a nice conversation afterwards.
29: I found a four leave clover today while mowing lawns. It’s been years since I’ve found one, so that was exciting.
30: I plowed through about 6 hours of studying for the FAR portion of the CPA exam. Only two more lectures and then onto multiple choice!
31: Filled out a form at work (finally). Now I just have to hope my boss will sign it and have it notarized.

6: Took the (hopefully) last CPA exam. It was nice as I spoke to an elevator engineer before the exam and it helped to calm my nerves a bit.

14: Wasn’t sure what day to put this on, but @nah-young and I hung out for hours just sitting and chatting on the cats’ back porch.
15: Successfully navigated into DC with the help of @arrowhearts (and had an interesting laugh about her being my son...? Oh well, at least we got to give the people sitting outside a show as we left the building with two rollie office chairs each).
16: Started working on my Halloween costume. I’ve abandoned the idea I originally had and will be switching to a different Mega Man X character (fun fact: it was a costume I originally intended to make before being introduced to Scaramouche back in 2017)
17: It was a scorcher, but had a slurpee for the first time in almost a year. I’m so thankful for the 7-11 within walking distance of where my dad and I work on Mondays.
18: I’ve officially passed the CPA exam! Now onto the next steps...
19: I have been struggling with telling people good news, but I did make an effort to inform some people about me passing the exam.
20: Told some more people about the CPA exam and just trying not to stress. I got celebratory milkshakes for my family after dinner.

1: A new fiscal year! I did manage to get a good bit done on my latch hook.
2: A sudden thunderstorm took me off the weed pulling job early (i.e. a perfect opportunity to read).
3: It was quiet in the office. Too quiet ... yet super productive! I processed so many gifts and letters.
4: I don’t really celebrate, and spent a lot of it working, but played some pokemon in the rain. It was a warm day, so the cool rain felt so refreshing!
5: A jammed packed day with trashrooms, a bank run, and more pokemon quests! I completed another 15 and hatched a new pokemon. Plus I finished another book: Dr. Death.
6: A busy day, but I was able to finish everything so I can take the next day off completely (for once). Again, apologies to @arrowhearts for dragging you out and getting caught in a downpour so I could get some bubble tea!

30: Hung out and ate delicious homemade butter chicken with my best friend’s mom (she’s basically like my other mother). We laughed and chatted, showed off our latest projects, probably kept the neighbors up, and just had a good time until like 2 in the morning.
31: Welp, it wasn’t a raid day for armored Mewtwo, but @arrowhearts and I did defeat more Team Rocket Go grunts in the rain.

1: Chatted with @nah-young for a few hours and I’ve got a new place to eat on my radar!
2: I kept feeling like I was letting my boss down because I couldn’t answer her questions/didn’t understand, but she insisted I was handling myself well, and found the information she needed later. Plus, she’s very complimentary of my work and appreciates my transparency and work ethic, both of which I work hard on and value.

3: It’s official! We’re having a Halloween party at work. If my new schedule turns out, I’ll be at work on that day and will show off a costume. Not sure if it will be the one I’m working on, but I can always recycle an old one.

15: I had such a good ripstik run. @nah-young and I practiced for a good while yesterday (and she did her first trick, too!). I guess it’s nice to see the fruits of our practice since we’ve been working off and on for about a month.

17: I finished “Every Tool’s a Hammer” by Adam Savage (from Mythbusters) and I really recommend it. It’s such a great book for anyone who makes or creates. It’s a fun read and chocked full of helpful hints.
18: I decided to start reading the Naruto series. I’m enjoying it so far! Now I just have to wait for the next to volumes to be available from the library.
19: I started replaying Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase. It’s amusing, although I’m a little rough.

23: I’d been on the fence about taking a vacation early next year because I want to save up for a down payment, but after talking to my dad, I decided I’d do a little something. I still need to work out the plans (and make sure the people I want to visit are free), but I’m looking forward to it!

26: There’s a chance I might be going full time at my office job, so dad encouraged me to take the day off from trash rooms. I still got up early, but knocked out a bunch of chores, finished Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase, finished a drawing, and cleaned in the basement a bit.
27: Lol, I just realized I have three cycles of books checked out again. I started reading The Wicked Years series. I’m trying to set aside time each night so I can read a chapter or two before bed.
28: I made the pattern for my gauntlets! I’m actually trying to do it the right way and making measurements, creating an accurate template, and just generally taking my time.
29: Part 2 of the gauntlets: They’re made! My template worked and I spent a couple of hours slowly forming and shaping them. I still need some practice on the gluing component, but at least they feel sturdy.
30: Started replaying DK 64 again. I really love this game. Besides Gauntlet Legends, it’s probably my favorite N64 game we own.
31: Got rained out at work, but managed to take it easy in the afternoon and just generally keep ahead with laundry.
October
1: Today officially marks the first day of working full time at my office job. They added ten hours a week, so now I’m working 4 days at 10 hours each. It’ll take a little adjusting. I’m happy for the extra hours!
2: I sent out invoices on time for once!
3: It was my fuzzball’s 16th Birthday today! Someone also brought in some really yummy snacks to work that were leftover from a meeting. I also managed to create templates for the leg gauntlets and cut them out of foam. I’m just rolling with the motivation now, and would like to have Vile finished by Halloween (keep reading to find out if it was finished).
4: Really just having a good time playing DK 64. Knocked out Gloomy Galleon, so all that’s left are my favorite levels!

7: I have leg gauntlets formed. Lol, I guess I should look up the name... All that’s left is the chest plate and cape!
8: I lucked out! My coworker can’t go to a book signing even this weekend and asked me to get her book signed since I’m going. It was the perfect opportunity to get my hands on a copy of “Where the Crawdads Sing” which I wanted to read before this weekend.
9: Making some headway on the costume again! Arm and leg gauntlets have the plating and base coat of plastidip.
10: I finished “Where the Crawdads Sing” within 48 hours of having it my possession. That’s such a huge accomplishment to read something so quickly and eagerly!

I know I said that I would keep this as spoiler free as I possibly could....but I really can't help it in this case.
Endgame wrecked me.
It wrecked me in a lot of ways, but one particular way literally caused me to break down to the point of clinging to my best friend and openly sobbing.
You may think to yourself "Why is some 33 something nerd crying over a fictional character?"
Because Tony Stark was the hero I needed during one of the darkest moments of my life. And Robert Downey Jr - both in portrayal and in his own personal life - actually helped me pull through.
I had suffered some trauma in my youth that never really went away. I'd always been brought up strong, independent, and able to resolve things on my own. I have loving parents, a great sister, and a handful of close friends.
That didn't stop the bullying from my peers from making me feel ugly and worthless.
That didn't stop teachers from telling me I wasn't going anywhere because I was willing to question.
I had people telling me I couldn't - so I did out of spite.
College came. Relationships happened. Adulthood hit. And even when you think that you have it great - that's not always the case. Sometimes shit just happens.
Depression got worse. I felt like I burdened people by talking about my problems, so I clammed up. I started smoking more (mainly in social situations, but still...going through a pack of cloves within a few days isn't a good thing). And when the smoking failed, I turned to alcohol.
I. Hit. Rock. Bottom.
I would go out and just drink to forget everything. Even the good stuff. I just wanted to be numb for a while. And for a while, it felt great.
Until I realized the toll it had on my friends - namely my best friend.
She noticed the self destructive patterns and started getting on my case. I insisted I was fine even when I wasn't. The final straw was when I was so drunk that I couldn't even get into the house. Barely conscious and delirious. My best friend got me into bed and woke me every 2 hours or so just to make sure I was still alive. I couldn't even remember how much I drank let alone what. She drew an ice bath and threw me in.
I was 22 at this point. Having just celebrated my birthday. April 9, 2008.
After a long talk because I admitted to my best friend that I needed help (yes. I was cognizant enough to know I needed help even when I was destroying myself from the inside out and let me tell you .... it is A TERRIBLE FEELING), she suggested finding other hobbies to take up my time as opposed to drinking myself into a stupor or worse.
And wouldn't you know it - I saw the Iron Man trailer while cruising through Facebook.
There was my boy, RDJ, looking amazing as all hell...and playing a superhero. Best of all, he was playing a personal favorite of mine - Tony Stark.
Poetic, right?
So we go to see it. Enjoyed every minute of it. We laughed. We cried. We fell in love with Tony all over again. So much that I immediately decided to get back into cosplay:
I literally built that reactor in my cave of a room with a candy tin, computer wires, electrical tape, and stainless steel coils that I had in a box from my prop making days.
My friends never let me live THAT down.
I had never felt more alive, more happy, and more myself in literally years. I was only a month off the sauce in this pic (and trust me, the next pictures I don't look quite so ill)
It's amazing what motivation will do no matter what the source.
So for the next 11 years I followed the journey. Ups and downs, losses and wins...didn't matter because my boy Tony always got out on top.
Then Endgame happened.
I called it the moment they showed his family.
I knew it was coming the moment he said he'd found the method for time travel.
I knew it the moment he looked at Peter's picture.
This was it.
And I can't tell you how much I both loved and hated the inevitable outcome of all his heroics.
On the one hand - he went out a hero. He went out the way he should have - protecting everyone he loved and ensuring a safer world for them. He was surrounded by his loved ones and mourned by all who knew him. It was impactful, it had meaning, and it was everything.
But kn the other hand- I'm angry. I'm pissed as hell that his happy ending - the one we fans have been praying for him to have - was thrown away in the most cruel and crushing way. He had a wife. He had a daughter. He had everything he'd ever wanted. But we just couldn't see him be a happy man; we couldn't see him retire and live a life that he deserved.
I wanted Tony Stark to find the same happiness I eventually did. I wanted him to find the peace I have both with myself and with my partner, my best friends, and my family.
The carpet was laid out....the torn right out from under him.
I'm normally not this bitter over a character death. We all die eventually. But I see it too often that characters like Tony - who work so hard to be the best people they can be, suffer multiple traumas, unhappiness, and stress while trying to do right - always get killed.
I'm at least glad he at least went out on his own terms.
So, thank you, Tony Stark. Thank you for being my hero. Thank you for making me fall back in love with Marvel. Thank you for saving my life.
And thank you, Robert Downey Jr, for reminding me that we can overcome even at our lowest moments. You're an icon, a legend, and you brought my hero to life in a way that changed my life for the better. I hope to see your future projects soon, but I'll miss the life, love, and dedication you brought to the MCU.

I finally saw the Endgame spoilers clip
*rubbing my grubby little hands together bc I love a good roast*
Welp, if it’s a roast you want, a roast you shall receive!
(Note: I think I spoke vaguely enough about everything big in the Clips below NOT to warrant an outright Spoilers tag, so I’m leaving it with just an Endgame Leaks tag and a ‘Read More’ line. Message me if you’ve a.) seen the Clips/gone scrolling for more info in the Spoilers tag and b.) think it’s more spoilery than I try to vague it to be, and I’ll tag it post haste)
Christ Almighty, the Clips just make everything look like an enormous MESS.
Thor looks just... awful. In every scene. LITERALLY EVERY SCENE HE’S IN IN THESE SPOILERIFIC CLIPS, HE LOOKS TERRIBLE. There isn’t a single one where he doesn’t look like a mess. Everyone else gets a glow-up (new hair, tattoos, freshly shaved) and looks put together in general (which is admittedly baffling - really, EVERYONE looks good in the face of mass genocide and failure to stop it from occurring?) but Thor decided to whip out his Big Lebowski cosplay at their big ‘save the world’ get-together... why??? (seriously Thor, was a shower too much to ask for?)
Now, if we’d had ANY inclination that anyone else looked rough aside from Tony and Nebula a la the stuck-in-space teaser trailers we saw originally, that would be one thing. Everyone there lost a loved one, everyone there has probably had to come to terms with the fact that they FAILED TO STOP THANOS when they were all right freakin’ there! NO ONE SHOULD LOOK 100% OKAY HERE. Show me dishevelment, poor coping mechanisms, show them having to struggle for weeks (maybe even MONTHS) after the events.
But nope! They are ALL in perfect health according to the trailers we’ve seen before. Even Tony, after nearly dying in space multiple times, just takes a bath and appears to be in fine health after getting back (with some bags under the eyes). Everyone’s perfectly fine, except for Thor (and maaaaaybe Hawkeye, who looks to have gone full-on Frank Miller Batman in his quest for vengeance, but still had time to get a mullet and some sweet sleeve tats in between!).
Nice.
This is a MASSIVE problem with the MCU as a whole, and has been for a while: their repeated attempts to gloss over and sweep consequences of mental trauma and illness away under the rug until it suits them for plot convenience or for comedy. You see this in the Thor sequels a LOT (Selvig being institutionalized for comedy after being possessed, Loki being kept in literal solitary confinement for roughly 2 years, Valkyrie’s PTSD and alcoholism played for laughs, mocking Loki’s suicide attempt from Thor 1 and the actual death he survived in Thor 2, ALL of Odin’s outright dickishness as a parent a la narcissistic parenting, Hela being imprisoned in isolation for literal CENTURIES), as well as anything to do with Tony Stark and his thought process (everything he does is pretty much as a result of the trauma he endures, and everyone in the Avengers just??? doesn’t recognize it??? and attacks him for it without going ‘hey, maybe he’s got PTSD’ or something???? what the hell, man). GOTG does a MUCH better job of it with Rocket and Nebula, but Mantis is left woefully unrealized (thought they do touch upon it briefly, and handle it with relative seriousness).
Either way, Thor concerns me a LOT, because he is the king of a very small group of Asgardian refugees (and given the scene that shows in the Clips, as well as the appearance of another Thor character later on, we KNOW there were multiple survivors), trying to find a new life on Midgard in the face of not one, not two, but THREE fcuking tragedies - the destruction of Asgard, Thanos’ attack on their ship, and the Snap. Why is he the way he is, in the location he’s in (which actually appears to be the apartment from Team Thor’s mockumentary)? He is the only semblance of leadership left for these people who have lost everything and he’s Like That. Where is a Thor stressed and fretting over being fully responsible for once in his life over the lives of his people, over what little remains of his kingdom? Where is a Thor struggling with guilt as he tries to build a new life for his people, struggling with rule and politics and trade? WHERE IS HE??? Bc right now, all I see is Chris Hemsworth auditioning for the remake of The Big Lebowski, having wandered onto the Avengers set instead of his audition location by mistake -_-
The scenes with Steve leave me absolutely baffled (and some of them just ooze cheese, and not in a great way), because how in the fcuk do we get to those?? His scenes feel the most disjointed here, bc they all have a similar vibe to his personality in Whedon’s Avenger movies. Kind of the ‘Boy Scout’ presentation, which is particularly odd in the aftermath of the Russo Fools’ two Cap movies and Infinity Fcuk Up, which made him more serious, less - bright? I can’t think of a good word for it rn. This is particularly highlighted in his big ‘save the world’ speech we hear - it feels kind of like an ‘okay team, time to save the world!’ speech, instead of something more serious. Is it to try to bring everyone’s hopes up? What else is missing here that we’re not seeing? Why does he feel like he’s back to this persona in light of all that’s happened? Is it to highlight how good and awesome he is in order to {SPOILER REDACTED} like we see in that final sequence? (Also, the imagery for SPOILER REDACTED, while meant to be badass and awesome, feels... kind of awkward, IMHO. Which is weird, bc I thought it would be more amazing and awesome. IDK, maybe I’m just super jaded with the MCU by now).
Carol Danvers’ scenes are actually pretty on point. She gets to be a badass in her fighting scenes and gets an awesome new look that pretty much only functions to further cement her Lesbian Status. The only way she would be more obviously a Lesbian is if her suit were in the colors of (one of) the Lesbian Pride flags and a Cyndi Lauper song was playing in the background (or maybe Joan Jett).
Hulk/Bruce Banner... I don’t even know how they’re going to swing this. Like, at all. I’m particularly baffled bc given how some of the scenes appear to be set early in the film, it resolves extremely quickly to get to that point, and after all the drama of Hulk not coming out in Infinity Fcuk Up, I just - who the fcuk knows at this point. Also, that one scene with the {SPOILER REDACTED} could be effective depending on how they set it up, but then... why exactly is he the one in the scene with the {SPOILER REDACTED} and not Carol or Thor, due to Obvious Plot Reasons?
Finally, Peter Parker. He’s adorable in his scenes, ‘nuff said.
Now, after seeing these scenes, I am left EXTREMELY CONCERNED for this movie’s tone. Granted, it was only 5 minutes of footage for a 3 hour movie. Quite clearly, there is a LOT we aren’t seeing. All the same though, it feels extremely disjointed. I know they’re trying to pull away from the dark and grim ending of Infinity War, but these clips make it all feel a little too casual, a little too ‘let’s go beat the bad guy!’ as opposed to ‘we have suffered a great failure and a great tragedy - as heroes, we MUST work to undo this for the sake of those we have lost, and everyone left alive who has lost the people they loved’. Idk, that may just be me on this one.
But you know the worst part of all of THIS? The worst part is that this is probably what we’re going to get on the release date. This isn’t a trailer Marvel released with deleted live-action scenes featuring minimal to no CGI, or sections clumsily edited over with explosion effects - this was a slew of scenes with a TON of special effects fully rendered in painstaking detail, recorded with a phone on its side in what looks like a movie theater, with foreign subtitles on the screen (I honestly don’t recognize the alphabet, but it might be Middle Eastern). That CGI is expensive and time-consuming as all hell to do, and considering how many of these scenes had it? Either they wasted a shit-ton of money on scenes they didn’t use (seriously, a number of them have Rocket in them, or Hulk - those aren’t the easiest characters to render, I would imagine), or these are in the movie, end of story.
Not to mention, TPTB clamped down on these Clips HARD - like, IMMEDIATELY - as opposed to the process behind deleting Reddit comments. The fast and heavy response from Marvel and the Russo Fools, COMPLETE WITH OFFICIAL TWEET LETTER, along with a Chris Evans tweet not to Spoil the Shit, was to chastise the ones who did (which is somewhat warranted here, given how extreme the security on leaks for Endgame have been).
This response, combined with the quality of the clips, and some of the plot threads that actually seem to be mentioned/referenced in the Lego sets, leads me to believe it’s real.
And I’m not really impressed.
On the flipside, I’m actually kind of relieved, knowing what I’m going into when I walk into the theater opening weekend. I’m not going to be completely shocked and horrified by what I see. This works well in breaking the ice, and also eases some of my anxiety on what to expect (bc I have had a LOT of it for this movie).
The downside to this is that at the end of the day, this is what 22 films ultimately amounted to. Something that feels a little too glib, a little too rushed. Something that doesn’t feel like it’s doing right by the characters who were left, and the characters we love (at least, not in full).
I understand that this is an insurmountable task - to bring to film, with limited time, a satisfying conclusion to so many characters. To arrange hundreds of people within thousands of hours on a set budget to bring this massive story, building for over ten years now, to a close that will resonate and sate with as many fans as possible. But I read fanfiction that does just that with less time, fewer moments, no budget - hell, there are 10k oneshots that rewrote Infinity Fcuk to make sense and treat the characters with the respect that they’ve earned over 20+ films.
This? Doesn’t feel like those.
I will happily admit, I am guesstimating a LOT here, based off of what essentially amounts to 3% of the movie (slightly more, depending on how long the credits are sans post-credit scenes, but still roughly 3%). There is a LOT that is missing, which could fill in these gaps successfully and make this whole post look completely pointless. If it does that, I will gleefully concede that it fooled us on this one. Maybe all of these scenes really ARE hoaxes (even if they were painstakingly subtitled in a foreign language and shown on a movie theater-size screen, but I digress).
But the framing of the scenes looks like it was meant to showcase what the movie would be as a whole, in terms of tone and what to expect. And from that, I’m not excited, or overjoyed. I’m just tired.
And I cannot WAIT for this all to be over, bc I’m fcuking exhausted just watching 5 minutes. Lord knows what 182 of them will leave me like in the end.

Lost Light #22 Thoughts & Feels
Goodness. It's been a while since I've written up one of these posts but, now that I'm free of the grips of cosplay, it only makes sense to hop right back in with this issue. And, oh boy, what an issue!

+Yay! Megatron is back! I'm happy to see him but obviously Magnus and Rodimus will be a bit miffed. Not like they parted on the best of terms... Yeah, bugger you, Terminus.

+OH SHIT! IS THAT CYBERTRON?! WHAT'S GOING ON! WHAT DO YOU MEAN “That's Primus” WHAT!

+BTW I was wrong. A few T&F posts ago I said that the Council couldn't become even bigger pricks than they are now. I was wrong. They heard my statement and said “Primus, hold our planet sized beer,” and considering what is revealed later in the issue, their hypocrisy has reached all an new levels of prickness.

I hope Megs waves back. It'd be rude not to. Also, the following exchange of “Why are you in a worldsweeper?” “Hm?” is perfect. Say what you want about Autobot Megatron, I will never not love the Rodimus/Megatron back and forth. Even the little admission from Rodimus, that Megatron “isn't that bad once you get to know him”, brought a smile to my face.
+I'm glad that Megatron wasn't the Big Bad like the last issue was hinting at. After everything he went through with the LL crew, plus his second chance in the FU, I would've been super irked if he went “evil” again. It's a shame the current IDW canon is ending, though, I would've loved a mini series detailing Meg's time in the FU. Looks like he's been busy.

+Right, time for the meat of this issue. If what Adaptus/Pharma says is true then this is possibly the biggest reveal in all of the IDW canon. I'll go over the identities of the other Guiding hand members before moving onto the big boy himself, as I've got quite a bit to talk about there. Oh yes.
I ADORE that Censere was Mortilus. The kind, sombre bot who quietly went about his duty, ensuring that the dead of Cybertron were not forgotten. It's also so refreshing to see the God of Death portrayed in a rather positive light. The only interaction we've had with Mortilus has been through his followers who, if we're perfectly honest, have all been giant edge lords XD I would've loved for them to meet Censere face to face. I bet he would've been horrified by their actions, maybe even invited them into his stronghold for a chat about their life choices. It's so sad that he died the way he did -_-
Tyrest... Gotta admit, not so thrilled about that one. Admittedly, it makes a lot of sense, especially when you start going over some of the details. He lead the research into “spark splicing” and had access to the Matrix, plus he was able to build a portal to one of his fellow gods. I always thought it was odd that his portal, ya know, actually worked because we all thought he was a little nuts. But maybe, just maybe, a little part of him remembered his connection to the Guiding hand. It's also quite tragic to see how the supposed god of wisdom was broken down over the years, his sanity chipped away at to the point of self-harm. Either way, I dunno, I think if we'd seen more of Tyrest after Remain in Light I probably would've liked this reveal a bit more, but it can't be helped since the end is fast approaching.

Okay... Primus... right, I double dipped and bought the issue off the IDW app before they recalled the issue, so I've been holding onto this spoiler for a whole week.

My mind is whirling, guys. When I saw that final panel everything clicked into place and it ALL MADE SENSE. The brightest spark, his serial number(reversed it becomes one) his memory problems, his odd habit of being in important points in history(which can't all be linked to Elegant Chaos because Rewind said there were billions of entries), the hotspot on Luna1,his deja-vu upon seeing the Luna 1 portal, no one remembering him. Everything!
I'm just stunned.
Roberts has really earned this reveal. I'm thrilled to bits by it. But now now I'm wondering, since a running theme of MTMTE/LL is the interpretation of myths and legends and how time can alter our perspective of those tales, how much of the creation myth is true. Are Rung, and the other members of the Guiding Hand, actual Gods or just REAAAAAALY ancient Transformers with unusual abilities. Did Rung and Censere really have a punch up? Is Rung truly responsible for the creation of the Cybertronian race?! HOW? Why doesn't he remember anything? How did we go from Warrior God to Nebbish Noodle Arms McCutie? Did he really fuse with Vector sigma? Is he Primus made flesh or a reincarnated spark? I have so many questions about my favourite character being the source of EVERYTHING.
+Love that final panel btw. It's like Rung got bored of everything and decided to have a sit down whilst he figured out how to clean his glasses one-handed. Please, PLEASE, let the first panel of the next issue be him, looking at the stunned faces of his friends, saying “What?”
+It’s such a shame that the comics only have a few issues left, I’d have loved to have seen this storyline expanded upon. Imagine how the Cybertronian race would've reacted to seeing the God for real.
+Oh dear. How are Cyclonus and Drift going to take this? The Knights are fake and the gods walk among you as normal dudes.
+Oh, we still don't know what Rung turns into but it's probably to do with spark creation/storage.
+We also still don't know why Ratchet was fading away a few issues ago.

It's been so great getting to know you over the last few years and it has always been delightful to see you on the dash whatever it has been Sonia n her antics, a picture of your other wonderful spoiled princess (Molly is just so cute) or just being impressed by your cosplays.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I’m so glad you and your muses (mostly) enjoy it! I’m sure there’s a few muses that will worry about Sonia, or if she hasn’t met them yet, she will. She’s a lot to handle, especially when she’s stubborn. Or there’s a demon to meet or a roller coaster in Hell to visit.
I’m so surprised you remember my random HC posts, too! And super flattered, even though half the time it’s “that’s such a stupid idea I’m posting it” or “I just watched this royalty/European/rich people thing and it’s now going to be my headcanon try and stop me.” But some of it just comes from how little we get in canon about most of the DR cast, and to make threads make sense (to a degree), I had to fill in some blanks. I still need a reason for more makangos and the Makango Catch to show up in a thread. Or for some muses to stumble upon ESPN 8 “The Ocho” during a broadcast of the biannual Makango Catch and bam, in the background, members of the Novoselic Royal Family.

In the sunshine, her buff tabby tuxedo colors really come through! She looks grey otherwise, but in the sun? So much buff and brown. I remember I played with her toes right after I took this and she chattered in protest. But let me do it anyway.
Princess Molly, high on catnip from her macaron cat toy. I can’t have edible macarons and not give her her own macaron too. She’s royalty after all.
Princess Molly, finally taking to her new/old friend, Mini Molly. Mini Molly was a gift from my fiancé 2+ years ago at this point so I could travel with a tiny plush Molly for trips when I’d miss the real one. Until very recently, PM has not been fond of MM. Now, PM can be found nuzzling MM and flopping beside her for a nap, as seen here.
