in this rewatch of voltron i have discovered that there is no fucking way shiro was out at the garrison or at any point during the course of the show:

1) his significant other was either a, not informed of his return even though he worked on site, or b, unable to because no one knew in the first place. (let’s be honest if adam had known he would’ve been with keith from the get go)

2) shiro does not send a video message home with sam holt in s4. mentions no family or homesickness at all.

3) he never speaks about adam. for 4 seasons we believe adam had no ties to anyone and only find out abt adam via a flashback. keith does know but only because the parental roles the 2 filled for him. and he doesn’t talk abt it either.

4) during the ride home he doesn’t talk abt adam

5) when they land he doesn’t ask for adam. he salutes iverson and then introduces allura romelle and coran.

6) his “big emo scene” abt finding out adam is dead only consists of him touching the memorial and saying “adam. im so sorry.” iverson offers no real comfort as one would if they knew the intimacy they shared so i can only conclude that

7) iverson and the entire garrison thought that they were ROOMMATES. COLLEAGUES. GOOD PALS.

8) he doesn’t talk to anyone abt his grieving.

9) we don’t see him meet curtis or develop any sort of relationship with him while they’re on the atlas for presumably months to years.

10) they get married waayyyy after everything is over which gives shiro time to come out off screen.

NOBODY FUCKING KNEW

Just a thought.

How would Voltron be impacted if Adam had joined the Paladins right from episode 1?

Cuz I feel like we never got to see more about him, except for the fact that he broke up with Shiro and then died during the first wave of Galra attacks on Earth.

Adam joining the team might actually be interesting. It would force Shiro and him to come to a reconciliation or a friendship for a while, and Adam would be able to have a hell of a lot more interactions with Keith.

I think I'm gonna work on a fanfiction with Adam being with the team too!

poor shiro cannot catch a fucking break can he. first he gets a crippling disease he's got two years to live. then an angsty wattpad breakup with his boyfriend then he gets kidnapped by aliens and pumped full of alien weed then he crashes on earth with so much walking midlife crisis energy that he gains the skinning puppies to make a fur coat hair, and then he immediately gets shot right back into space by his shittass little brother and weirdo friends with the literal matt clone. then this poor man is made the leader of an alien war, becomes a father to four fuckass teenagers through accidental child acquisition, is forced into the kim kardashian lifestyle by a ginger on drugs, gets kidnapped again, gets cloned, fucking dies, somehow comes back (yeah I'm not really clear about this) then this pathetic wet cat of a man, this stressed jean valjean father of four, experiencing his fourth midlife crisis and millionth mental breakdown, gains that senior citizen swag at twenty five. you could colour match his hair with a polar bear. then he witnesses a walking loreal ad (derogatory) get melted alive, watches a castle get blown up, loses three years in a space time jump and then finds out his ex- fiance who broke up with him right before he left has fucking died in a purple thumb invasion before he got to marry him. but oh no no no that's not the end for this poor sad man. poor guy doesn't get a second to grieve before he is visually assaulted by a less cunty sue sylvester ripoff and her gang of bitchy cheerios (this is admiral s*nda), and yet again made a leader against his will, and shot right back off into space again. then he watches the only other responsible adult in this entire franchise (hot badass space princess who like shiro did not catch a break) sacrifice herself and is left a struggling father. ends up marrying some random fucko. all while suffering through his shitass hot topic brother and blueberry disaster's doomed yaoi romance. oh yeah and he's only got one arm. give the guy a BREAK. FREE my man he doesn't deserve this 🔥🔥

One of my favorite shadam hc is that prior to the whole kerberos stuff, Adam and Shiro had their own place to come home to and would only go to the garrison for work - and that at some point, they got Keith his own room at their apartment so that he could sleep there on weekends and holidays, and eventually they started thinking about adopting him but space dad got lost in space before it coule actually happen -

I got a whole comic idea for that last bit so maybe later after the "Room for two" one is finished, who knows 🤷🏾‍♀️
