Angels are ancient beings.
It's one of their most detrimental aspects.
They're like the Silent Generation, sticking to the pain that had defined such an early part of their youth, clinging to life with tooth and nail, refusing to give in to the passage of time.
Angels are terribly arrogant, they live far, far above humans, in every sense of the world. This is very apparent, a lot of the time. The way they choose bodies that tower, the way they prefer to float ever so slightly if their body had turned out just a little too short.
Why would it be too short, you may wonder, if angels are so poignant and aggressive about towering?
Because they think themselves so much better than humanity that what do they care to check the average height of a nation?
Sabriel would rather not count themselves among those kinds of angels.
It's not very apparent, in them, their superiority. They talk and they smile, they indulge themself in connecting with humans, they engage with them, they're not above touching them.
But isn't that arrogance, too? Entitlement? Thinking they're in the right to frown slightly as the clerk all but seems to flee out of their direct proximity? When they're handed a rag by having it smack into their unmoving palm, firm and undisturbed like a piece of diamond?
Sabriel wouldn't know.
"Malachi," they mumble out, wiping at the blood staining the inside of their hand. Do angels bleed? Sabriel has never stopped to wonder. Sabriel doesn't know. Sabriel thinks they don't.
"Malachi," they repeat, lost to the shape of the letters on their tongue, how his name dances around in his mouth.
"What did you mean when you said 'out of your own pocket'?" comes the next question. Sabriel lifts their head, there's attentiveness there still, but it's no longer shrouded by the sharpness of an angel knee-jerking into the fulfillment of their domain. The intensity in their eyes is solely intended to rip Malachi apart in questions and answers.
He feels different. The way the wind feels different, the way an ill man vibrates differently as opposed to a healthy one. He doesn't float like a human at all.
There's a lot to be said about him. Sabriel doesn't keep a toll of the personality types they encounter. The arrogance of the angel. They've stumbled upon all sorts of characters, gaining more questions than answers solely because people don't want to answer. And isn't that what is happening here as well?
Malachi retreats? And he retreats and he retreats. Sabriel finds nothing more uninteresting than themself. Nothing remarkable about them, about their voice, about their power, about their appearance - in terms of air, they take up more space than even an average angel, people breath easier when they're gone - they are what they are, a tool to their search.
Malachi.
"Clearly you aren't seeing what I am," Sabriel tilts their head to one side, smiling lightly, undisturbed, unbothered. Their eyes are mostly trained to Malachi's torso, more interesting at the moment when compared to the flare of fear? in his eyes. That little bottle, that belt, the equipment, how very fascinating.

to preface i hardly ever think of ^this guy^, but he and the scene that brought this on was touched on very briefly in a podcast i've been listening to lately (sideburns and cigarettes ofc), so here we are. enjoy my barely filtered take on the cardboard cutout pt 6 zeni before cardboard cutout pt 6 zeni.
extremely excited for the koike zenigata movie that hasn't even been remotely mentioned in any official capacity yet.
zenigata in ep 4 of twcfm, first half behaviors aside, goes from trying to shoot Lupin square in the chest the second he sees him to reciting fking SHAKESPEARE to him come ON. what does that MEAN. and then he tries to kill him again HELLO. wipe the hotsauce outta your eyes and take a deep breath in, man
like he fucks fujiko in a purely transactional sense sure but all of that convinced me he wants to not only fuck but marry AND kill lupin. in ONE scene.
and then that energy's just. gone. poof. there's barely enough there for it to get to the same level it does in most other lupin media. his reverse-oedipus twink son stole all of it and i'm only a little salty, i swear.
anyways i want koike zeni to go on a disgustingly complex tirade about why he needs to get rid of this peacocky little shitheel in an unnecessarily intimate manner to some random cop npc "sir this is a stakeout" style, but instead he's just "where's lupin. where's this axe guy. okay axe guy fucked off, goemon stand aside so i can arrest lupin."
listen, he's allowed to be the cool cold hardboiled cop guy, but that's hardly enough for him to compete with the rest of the koike gang. lupin's a diabolical little shit (unchanged). jigen's willing to explicitly die for lupin's schemes and that's fun to him. goemon will train until he fucking keels over. fujiko is the Baddest Bitch.
on the flipside, for the most part, you could replace zenigata with literally anyone else and it'd hardly change much.
if there's any medium to execute The Obsession to its fullest extent in, it's this. they could totally amp up the Tragicomedy in the koike stuff, but they seem to be avoiding "comedic relief" zenigata like the plague even though that is, without a doubt, a massive part of what makes zenigata Zenigata in the first place. he's the best cop but he's an absolute trainwreck of a human being. basette nailed it, actually--
they were so fucking real for this.
anyway i'm well aware that anything my half-conscious potato brain/ The Fandom can cook up will be obliquely better than anything released officially, but a fella can dream. or, y'know, maybe they'll surprise us. that'd be neat

so, I just watched s5 and I wanna say it's been a pleasure waiting the ending with yall.
Either way it was great (even if we didn't get benrius as we wished) but Yassamy cannon. 🍾💥🥳
I'm kinda mad about how they put Ben and Darius apart even tho their bond was one of the strongest on the group.
Now, I've made a list of the things I'd thought it was gonna happen this season, and I got most of the things right (let's goo).
Still sad about benrius tho, the creators rly got me hoping, also I feel like when Yas came out to Ben, a lot of his scenes of them could've been used better. Like I understand she need Ben there to talk but I feel like it was a opportunity to open Ben's character too. (I felt like he was really put aside)
I feel like his character could've be a bit more explored as Yas opened up to him (and not just giving advice like he knows it all, boy had a huge ass gay fight with Darius on s3 and now he be giving advice like he's mister Miyagi or something).
Also I'm not saying Yas coming out scenes should be about Ben, just saying they could've used the moment to open and explore more of both characters
Yassamy was one of the things we predicted on my list, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE, how we feeling tonight? Fking great.
Also, the ending, their designs, I'm OBSESSED but Ben darling, god may forgive you for being gay but no one is gonna forgive you for that haircut. (still love him tho)

So finally have some coherent thoughts about *that* vp scene. First off, this scene was a logical way forward into the story. You go undercover in a mafia household and steal information; you are certainly going to be tortured and/or killed. Doesn’t make it right or palatable, but this is how the underworld functions. You might hate it, but this is what had to happen- even pete and kinn knew it.
Now normally the punishment would be doled out in the way kan dealt with ken or big was trying to deal the mole in ep 7. The person would be hit hard, they would whine and beg for forgiveness and then probably be killed. Nothing personal, just doing what needs to be done and move on.
But the catch here is that vegas is not normal and apparently neither is pete. we have our resident mafia menace who loves to torture people. It is not just work for him as he gains personal satisfaction out of toying with people. Normally khun vegas is used to people cowering in fear when they see him and then groveling at his feet. Vegas started with his “I am the crazy bad guy” spiel with his soft voice and toying with the hammer and stuff to scare the victim. But here comes mr. pete who stared straight into his eyes and started laughing, actually goddamn laughing in his face with absolute zero fear in his eyes! This made an already angry vegas, even more furious and that is why he brought out his jumper cables instead of the usual torture briefcase. (like the audacity of this bitch to break into my home and laugh at me)! He gave the initial jolts expecting pete to fall and cry and beg but that didn’t happen. Instead pete is still smiling (oh you’re still smiling) and we can see vegas being shocked so when he asked “one more time” there is a layer of intrigue alongside the usual hatred. So I believe that there was definitely nothing sexual here, no s&m etc etc yet. There was just fascination- seeing each other for the first time in a completely raw state, all pretenses off (Bible and build’s microexpressions damn!! Get them an oscar already!!). Their chemistry in this scene though! Absolutely sizzling pun intended! Add to it some beautiful cinematography! This has made me really invested in the vp story now.
I think Pete here was playing the part of an action hero/ superhero- the i don’t fear death guy, do what you want i won’t speak guy, laughing in villain’s face guy; we all know the trope (bond/ die hard etc). Pete was laughing in a fuck you kind of way. I entered the home of this psychopath and successfully one upped him. He enjoyed seeing how fazed vegas was and how angry he was because of losing everything! (Are these masochistic tendencies? Not sure).
Another important point about this scene, I was initially really surprised to see that the writers made pete’s capture very uneventful. Ken idly snuck up on him (pete for the nth time my god!), pete’s not surprised at all and the in the next scene he is tied up in front of vegas. It initially felt very choppy to me but i think the writers wanted to tell the audience that this was supposed to happen. In the novel (v mild spoilers), pete fought back really hard. I think they didn’t show that to emphasize that pete knew this was a suicide mission and he probably had no plans of coming back. There is no suspense, no ominous music because there is no cat and mouse chase and grand fights. He is caught and that’s that. What did y’all think about this choice? Liked it?
I was initially a vegas fan (bible being hot helped :P). Didn't really care about the couple. I always love the crazy menaces in any show more than the main hero, suave and flashy villains with lots of layers ala loki (what does that say about me, i don't wanna know😶). But after the temple scene their dynamic has become so interesting for me... safe to say I am now obsessed!!

No because this man is SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL?!?!?!?!?! There's just something about Minho that's just so....pretty🩷 I can't get over it, I just can't
He'd looks so fucking gorgeous with his purple hair and an equally purple and shimmery tail. He'd have the MOST BREATHTAKING fins!! They'd look like see-through light purple fabric with a little shimmer (Thinking angel fish) and he'd have the kind of fin-like ears (U probably know what I mean)
I can imagine Minho going up to the surface every now and again and not being really impressed by what he sees sometimes but down under can also get a little boring sometimes yk?
One particular day he's out for a swim near the surface and pops up on a rocky area just a ways off from a beach. It's very cool there and secluded so he goes there sometimes just to chill and relax with the cool air. He did that same thing today but what he wasn't expecting was to hear a voice. A voice singing so sweetly he swore it was a siren's but a siren's voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard to his merfolk ears so it couldn't be.
He looked for the voice as discreetly as possible and sitting on a few rocks just above where he was hiding sat you. Singing sweetly to the ocean and all who else would listen. And believe Minho was listening.
He'd never heard such a sweet voice in his life. And you were just as beautiful as the notes leaving your throat. Minho was mesmerized. So much so that he didn't hear the sound of other voices approaching. Only once you stopped singing to turn and shyly? Or was it timidly? speak to the voices that approached was Minho able to compose himself and slip away before he was seen. He does curse whoever those people were for making him have to leave. He wanted to hear you sing more, wanted to see you just a bit closer.
Minho hasn't stopped thinking about you. It's been days since he last saw or heard you. He's gone back to that rocky area every day, the amount of times a day increasing slowly but you're never there. Minho begins to wonder if he'll ever get to see you again. Why does he feel so upset at the idea of never seeing you again? Sure you were absolutely breathtaking and your voice made him feel like he was floating but that was just a one off encounter. Surely he just wanted to hear you sing again. That had to be it...right?
I have even more thoughts on this but it's gotten long and I wanna hear to what you Abt this so far😊 Merman Minho is so fking breathtaking in my brain I wish I could transfer the image to my phone and share it with u and everyone else😭💔

HIIII 💙💙💙 how are you, beautiful angel?
I'm finally here again, I've missed it and I feel like it's been a while since I've posted here although I really don't think it was that long ago. I don't know hahaha but what I do know is that there is a lot to talk about.
To start with we have to talk about Spinnin and OH MY GOD where do I start? I am simply IN LOVE AND OBSESSED WITH EVERYTHING RELATED TO THIS SONG. I think it's one of my favorite Madison songs of my life and right now it's my favorite song. I feel like spinnin is one of those songs that touches your soul, you know what I mean? I think it's a deep song that you can relate to in different ways and it's SO SO precious..... THE BRIDGE OF THE SONG... HELLO? I'm still obsessed MADISON HAS AN AWESOME VOICE and I don't understand how she doesn't get more recognition, because wow just wooow. this song shows perfectly how talented she is.
And the mv? God, I LOVE IT I think it's also one of my favorites, not only of Mads songs, but of all music videos in general. It is a piece of art, every scene, the aesthetics, the drama and madison's performance.... I could talk for hours about this song
The scene where Madison puts clothes in the washer and of course, spins around like Spinnin is how Madison is a genius. The scene where she runs through the corn field and the birds standing still in the sky is too cute, and then when she is on her knees with the spotlight pointed at her in front of the cars WHAT EMOTION, WHAT FEELING I literally had goose bumps
In fact, bringing up the subject of the scene of Madison running in the cornfield I like this image better as the album cover than the other one that was there. Don't get me wrong, the other cover was great and she looked super cute, but the new album cover... I love it. I think it fits really well with the album
And another super important thing, THE SNIPPETS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I'm super super super excited. Sweet relief I really like it, I love the vibes it has and I can't wait to listen to the whole thing, Envy the leaves (which if I'm not mistaken was one of the songs you were claiming, no?) I thought it was super nice, it's going to be a GREAT song and 17 seems to me a very interesting one. I think the writers should grow Will and Hannah's FRIENDship, they'd be cute friends!
Not complaining about Kim being the one handling the case, but i mean the ABSOLUTELY MISSED POTENTIAL for a Halstead brothers scene? Jay could have been here as a brother, you know? Will did just get pulled out of a fire lol.
Archer being a bit of a dick? Not even surprised.
I kind of liked the Ethan-Will dynamic in this episode. Ethan was firm, Will was stubborn, all in-character, but felt they still worked pretty well together compared to how they've been written before.
Can't believe they wrote Dylan out!!!!!

Do you think that the way parents engage with teachers can negatively affect the teacher-student relationship? I am a suplinitoareTM and I have some nice kids in my class BUT THE PARENTS? THE PARENTS ARE A NIGHTMARE!
i think only time will tell and it also depends on you
i had some pretty terrible kids in my class and their parents were lovely and trying so hard (being a parent can be so overwhelming) but they kept making the same mistakes and i decided to distance myself from them (the parents)
but when the kids are fine and the parents are demons from hell? jesus! they are so fking patronizing and obsessed with trying to use your age/experience against you
there was this girl a couple of years ago who was a well-known liar and i told her after a while that i know that she's lying and that it's not fair for other kids to be punished because of her lies
guess what? her mother freaking attacked me! i was working in a private after-school back and she threatened to slash my face with her keys if i ever doubt her daughter again (long story short: she was the owner's distant relative and i chose to leave)
then there was this girl whose parents were quite old and really traumatized by the abusive old school system and they kept attacking me for anything i tried to do
once, i was reported for freaking telling my own pupils some sad story (the happy prince by oscar wilde i think?) because it made her daughter feel distressed and almost suicidal (her mom is allegedly a therapist and i feel sorry for her clients/patients)
and part of me resented that child for a while because she kept telling her parents absolutely everything going on (uwu why were you wearing high heels the noise is bothering the kids uwu why don't you wear neutral colours if you ask our kids to wear them uwu) but she was a good kid and we really liked each other... (let me quote you) BUT HER PARENTS? :)) THE PARENTS ARE A NIGHTMARE!
