Destroy the myth of 100% scores on tests. They wont make you happy.

Tldr: No, the tiktok study tips that "will get you straight A's" won't get you an A and thats perfectly fine. You're not doing anything wrong. The education industry has made you addicted to praise.

I just learned about Dweck's theory about praising children, and how judgemental language is extremely harmful to the growth of children (and adults). We've been conditioned to do things with the expecation of getting praise (from a parent, teacher, boss, etc) rather than our personal experimentation with play or doing a task. Dweck tested her theory on two groups of children. When praised for success, children became demotivated to do more difficult tasks. Children that were praised for their effort, however, were much happier and more eager to take on more difficult challenges, because they want to improve.

Unfortunately this is how the education system, or education industry, functions and it is hard to escape this. But we can, however, free ourselves from the silly ideas of the "straight A-student" culture, which solely focuses on the test results instead of the effort and hard work that students put into learning. Learning should be fun, not a task. And when its not fun, dont beat yourself up over it. It is not your fault that, by design, the education industry cares more about your productivity than your wellbeing. Antiwork culture very much applies to the education industry as well. Sure, you could work your ass off to get a raise/high grades, but does that actually make you happy? Is it right that school/work is making you overwork yourself?Shouldnt we reevaluate how we think about numbers and scores, and perhaps focus on the wellbeing of students? Do you really do it for the score, or do you just want to be free? Free from the punishment from your parents after you get a low score? The freedom to be able to go to that fancy university? People should not be measured by test scores.

Yes. I'd much rather be furred and possess a tail and fly through taiga snows on four limbs in the night. But I don't hate humans or even the condition of being human.

Humans are... adorable. Innovative. Compassionate. Playful. Their cognition, their self-awareness, their capacity for consciousness and higher order thinking... all lends itself to a fascinating, introspective social species. Their drive to promote welfare transcends the self, even blood relation, and even species. There's pride to be had in being human.

I hate the Protestant work ethic-- notion that life is best spent on maximal labor in the name of a merciful God. I hate the modern secular work ethic-- notion that life is best spent on maximal labor for... self-fulfillment.

I hate exchange culture-- definition of identity and relationships by (material) input and output. Laisser-faire exchange systems.

I hate vertical, hierarchical arrangements of control. Individualist culture within vertical power structures-- the antisocialism inherent to every institution and organization; its strong incentive for antisocial behavior and catastrophic consequences for prosocial behavior.

Humans are not defined by these things-- a globe of 7 billion of them and counting live this way or similar. Circumstance is not to be conflated with nature.

The humans who uphold these institutions, attitudes, expectations, and values have every motive to make you believe that these are the only ones-- the one true way, the supreme state of human being.

They have everything to gain from you resigning yourself to this "truth". They have everything to gain from having everyone believe their human-being is the correct way to human-be. That their human is the only human.

But the real truth is that you are human. I am human.

I do not hate being human.

I hate being as their human.

Not socialist in a “I won’t have to work” type of way but socialist in a “I’ll still be working but I won’t be worried I won’t make the rent” type of way. In a “billions won’t be hoarded by one person” type of way. In a “janitors, fast-food workers, child care workers, preschool teachers, hotel clerks, personal care and home health aides, and grocery store cashiers, will live comfortably” type of way. As anarchists, we think that human beings shouldn’t be defined by the surplus value they bring to capitalism. Work should be the way to produce by necessity and not to create new needs. Work must be organized so everyone can work less, and for means other than profitability.

Why don't Democrats use this easy to understand story on the campaign trail?

Democratic politicians need to explain how capitalism is failing and many many hardships in life stem from the grinding capitalist agenda.

Biden has done a great job standing by unions.

Orgainized labor and worker solidarity are the path forward. #VoteBlue
