he’s neutral about most bugs. he’ll pick up critters like beetles and caterpillars with his hands and set them outside

gets grossed out by the nastier bugs though. won’t touch ‘em himself, they’re lucky if he can gather himself enough to get a paper and cup. otherwise it’s swatter time with gritted teeth and barely mustered courage

SPIDERS. HOWEVER.

certified spider hater. absolutely terrified of them get out of here!!!

he'll use a swatter, pesticides, everything. but he’s so afraid of how they disappear when he’s not looking

you’ll have to keep an eye on it while he finds the pesticide or vice versa

if he’s unfortunate enough to be the one to kill it you’ll have to hype him up, calm his nerves, and then tell him it’s okay once the deed is done

this guy… easily the worst of both units at bug duty. you might just have to take the bullet

he gets sketched out by even the cute ones like butterflies and ladybugs if he looks at them for too long. there’s no way he could even take a moth with a level head

he even reacts to all of them the same. “AAAAH! T-t-there’s a [BUG NAME] in [room name]!”

even so he tries to be nice to them with a cup and paper, or some other method to get them out of his space

unfortunately australian wildlife has prepared him so smaller bugs are still scary but he’ll be a big scared scary mafia boss and take action

and everyone says they’ll leave the house as a joke if they can’t find the spider but it’s luca. there is a solid chance that he will invite you to stay with him in one of the kaneshiro vacation homes for about three days. that’s enough time for the bugs to leave, right?

oh! a bug!

is rather delighted at bug!

honestly if it’s a cool bug he might just take a video of it doing its thing and give it a personality!

he has a out-of-sight, out-of-mind philosophy with bugs. he’s fine with just about anything as long as they aren't annoying

harmful pests will get swatted tho ofc

everything else, he’s fine with bringing outside himself without much fanfare

some of them are a little creepy but he tries to rationalize it. they’re just tiny animals and he’s a big strong sorcerer, it’s fine. what are they gonna do, infest him to death?

…he’s going to spray the house down later just to be sure.

a wild card. and also VERY emotionally invested in any bugs that come his way whether that’s good or bad

if they manage to sneak up on him he’ll probably yell “WOAH” or curse out of surprise, then figure out whether he should be scared or not

surprisingly fine with the nastiest of them. he actually loves worms, centipedes and similar critters, and he’ll even admire them if they stumble into his territory

“look reader this is me if i were a worm. would you still love me if i was a worm 🥺” “vox please just get that thing outside”

spiders have a 50-50 survival chance. he’ll kill small spiders but bring the big ones outside because the big ones are like full Animals to him and slaughtering animals is not something he can bring himself to do (tiny ones don’t count)

are scorpions bugs? do they count? either way that’s his one objection. he wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole if he had the choice, but if you’re really that scared, then he’ll put on a brave face and hide his fear

if he’s going to take care of a bug you need to make peace with the fact that he will whine the entire time

not a cute fun whine either. he’ll complain the entire time that it’s gross and nasty and ewww yuck ugh!

and that’s just for beetles and caterpillars

show him a spider or something else just as creepy and he will actually scream

and yell as he fumbles around to take care of it

and yell as he eventually grabs it with his hands (he’s panicking a little too hard to get a tool)

and yell as he tries to open the door and throw it outside

this is assuming he doesn’t find a slipper nearby. if he has a tissue or something he’ll smash the bug over and over until it’s pulverized

and he’ll STILL be yelling while he does that

the job gets done but at what cost

he’s not a 6/10 because he dislikes bugs. he’s neutral towards them, not really creeped out by them but not a fan either

he’s a 6/10 because he’s a dick about taking care of them for you

here’s how it usually goes: you summon him to save you from a creepy crawly. he’ll inspect it and go “really, you’re scared of that little thing? look at it closer, it’s just a bug”

and once he quits fooling around he just swipes it up. his fingers are solid steel which allows for Precise Bug Snatching

but he’ll act unsure and go “i think i got it. here, reader, look inside my hand and tell me if you see it”

or even the dreaded move where he pretends he’s bringing the bug closer to you so you have to see it

and THEN once he’s outside he’ll open his hands and go “wait i think i lost it” just to get a rise out of you until he confirms yes, it’s safe and out of the house

if you’re legitimately terrified then he doesn’t even bother with the jokes. just point out the bug and close your eyes, and he’ll be washing his hands while you stare back at a smudge on the wall before you can even get out a sentence

🔗 Sonny Brisko: 8/10

somehow both a gentle soul and a complete menace

he's very matter-of-fact when you point them out. "it's just a little jumping spider, no big deal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

in fact he's almost adorable with how he quietly talks to the bugs and coaxes them to crawl on his hand so he can get them out of your way

and then he prods and begs you to take a picture of the bug bc it's a cool little guy

surprisingly knowledgeable and can identify bugs easily, so once he's got one in his hands he'll show it to you and tell you some facts about it

which is very sweet except for the fact that it's still a nasty bug and you want it out of your face!

he'll lightly tease you over being so scared of a little bug while he takes them outside. and if it's a pest-eater like a spider he'll hide it in a dark corner out of your sight

overall very kind to bugs and thinks they're friendly

which is why it throws you so hard that sometimes after he coos over them he just FUCKING SMASHES THEM IN HIS PALM?

NO HESITATION AT ALL??

also when the bug is taken care of he'll sneak behind you and lightly tap his fingers up your arm like a creepy-crawly and then laugh when you get scared. what a shithead

the very essence of "i'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with ME"

it's like watching a cat hunt an unaware mouse. he's so quick about it

and he's so good at it too?? he'll find the bug, swat it, and throw the remains away in less than a minute on a good day

doesn't even act like it's a big deal either, he just goes back to what he was doing before you asked for help

he uses tissues or shoes on the big ones like roaches, but anything small, he's surprisingly good at crushing them with his bare hands. this is especially funny when he has acrylics on bc those nails never get dirty nor in the way

spiders get the relocation pass, and he'll insist they stay inside, just out of sight

non-zero chance if you complain about it, he'll go on a lecture about how spiders are how you prevent other pests from invading the house

honestly you only see this side of uki once. the bugs are too scared to show their faces after this stint

Too eager to wait to make it upstairs to the bedroom, your lips are on Joel’s the second you walk through the front door, hands scrambling to tear off his coat and unbuckle his belt and his jeans before you’re pushing him down onto the couch. After removing your own clothes just as frantically you’re straddling his lap, sinking down onto him in one swift move, knowing you’re already more than wet enough to take him. The rhythm of your hips is fast and erratic from the get-go, moving frantically against Joel’s as you rise and sink back down onto his length, nails clawing into his shoulders to keep yourself steady, your breathy moans mingling with his deep grunts. I just wanna say that it's 4am and I spent hours scrolling through your blog-- I just love your AUs sm, particularly the separation AU. I strongly stan the clown outfits, steeb is just so freaking adorable, I cant. And star is so pretty. and they are cute together and fill my heart with joy.

On another note, I saw you put some thoughts on them fusing, and while I fully respect whichever decision you make, I do hope they get to fuse, even if not permanently. And I appreciate you mentioned it wouldn't be just steven their fusion in this hypothetical situation, but rather a combination of both. I wonder though, how they'd look, if their fusion would just take the form of steven, or if it would change, since star has his own different form and not a copy of steven. Do you have any thoughts on that?

Aaaah tysmmm <3<3<3 that means so much to me! I enjoy drawing clown Steven and Star so I’m glad you like them too!

And gosh, I haven’t thought abt their fusion in months, it was an older idea I played around with for awhile. I ended up scrapping it and went with the idea that they were so severed after so many years that fusion was out of the question, and both halves had developed such separate identities and lives that even if they could fuse, they’d have no desire to permanently. I think I posted art of their fusion a bit but at the time my art skills were pretty underdeveloped and I have a tendency to delete older posts I dislike lol

Tbh I’m not great at gem designs, especially gem fusion designs. Fusion designs go beyond just mashing two people’s physical characteristics together. There’s tons of things to consider, like the persons’ views of each other, the state and type of the relationship, personalities, etc, etc.

But heck, I really liked some parts of the design, so here’s a doodle! Ugh now I want to ramble about the fusion design. But I imagine that if they could fuse, it would be a very rare, intimate thing. They’re stronger together, especially on Steven’s side, but it’s also very vulnerable, usually on Stars side.

Hi hi hi I love your Wars and Time shenanigan fics and I just lobve them so much THEY ARE BROTHERS-

Anyway- I just thought of a silly little headcanon. When Time was like 15 or 16, he didn’t know how he wanted to look (like style, hair, etc) so, because he missed his brother so much, he decided to have his hair cut in a style like Wars’ was. However, while it looks good, he ends up looking SO MUCH like Wars that it freaks him out and he NEVER does it again.

Cut to when the chain get to the ranch and Malon is staring at Wars like ‘0-0’ because he looks!!! Just like her husband did!!! When he tried that new haircut!! And she just has a revelation of just how much Time rlly looks up to Wars and she finds it rlly cute and sweet.

Tiktok Army you’re disappointing..

And i guess saying disappointing is an understatement ‘cause.. Obviously i’m not talking about everyone there are good gems out there but some people really are disgusting.

So i come back home (obviously you can tell that i missed Hobi’s live T-T) So i decided to catch up with what i’ve missed and since i want to be sitting around not doing much to watch the whole live i decided to watch snippets which allowed me to know that Jimin visited Hobi (My Jihope heart was so happy AAAAH!!) Right!

Naturally, i was so giddy about it, it was cute, i loved their dancy dances, was reading tweets about their lil conversation yada yada and decided to go on tiktok usually after a live i get snippets on my fyp too and well i wasn’t wrong second video on my fyp was Jihope, i’ll link it right here :

Now the reason why i’m linking the video instead of just downloading it and posting it is because of the comments. The video is nice, just our Jihope being Jihope nothing new, obviously unless one is blind yes Jimin went for Hobi’s neck for a peck or maybe not can’t tell with the angle but a peck nonetheless. While some comments were lovely but other comments looked like this :

The thing that’s upsetting about this is, you know what imma be frank with y’all, if you wanna joke about it you do you but do it privately, do it in your chat groups or with a friend or whatever but don’t post that shit publicly, you might be wondering why? i’ll tell you.

First of all, BTS are gay until it’s Jimin and JK and suddenly they’re brothers, they got called liars for exactly the same shit they’re joking about right now. Second of all, since when is Jimin a play toy to the members? Getting passed around or going around sucking everybody’s neck? This is not an A/B/O au where Jimin is a fragile and weak Omega with 6 Alphas or some shit.

It’s bad enough that some people have the audacity to make aus with that plot actually, where Jimin is actually being passed around between the members to satisfy their sexual desires and fantasies. Don’t get me wrong you do you when you’re writing a fiction but inspiring your characters from real people with such plots.. I’m not even going to talk about other more disgusting and disturbing plots i came across.

Just because he did that with one person, it doesn’t mean he goes around doing the same thing to all the members. Yes i get it, it’s a joke, i’m not a party-pooper i also like joking around as long as it brings no harm to anyone, do people even realize that whatever shit they say online can be picked up by the media? Let’s go on your “Just a joke” train and keep it that way right? When the next day media start posting articles about how Jimin is a .. I’m not even going to say the word this infuriates me actually, going around pleasuring the members then what? You think everyone knows not to believe Koreaboo or Music Mundial or Allkpop?

Your “simple joke” can turn to a nasty rumor about Jimin and then later you’ll be fighting those medias about it, about the same stupid ass joke you thought was funny a few days ago! Grow the fuck up! Some shit can be said online and some shit is best kept away from prying eyes. Y’all are nasty!

Both of the Groovies really capture the spirit of Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw respectively while also showing all the primary members of each dorm AND the dorm leader’s Tsum!

You’ve got the rose petals fluttering around while Ace, Deuce, Cater, Trey, and Riddle are crowded together for the group shot... Everyone’s also making a unique pose that’s very in-line with their own personalities! Ace is cheekily winking like he does in his official promo artwork, Deuce is smiling dorkily and having fun with all his heart, Trey’s clutching onto his hat and making a mildly tired expression like some parent that’s a little worn out but still plays along with his kids’ goofy plans anyway, CATER’S OVER HERE MAKING A DUCK FACE LIKE HE’S POSING FOR A MAGICAM SELFIE 🤣 and, of course, then there’s Riddle leading the charge like the true leader that he is!

Leona’s Groovy, by contrast, gives off a very different vibe!! There’s more of a focus on the background here, with the sunset illuminating the Savanaclaw boys, the scattered clouds, and the trees of their turf from behind. Ruggie’s looking as carefree as ever with his hands resting behind his head, and Jack’s acting like a tough guy as per usual (but his tail is alert, so something’s definitely got his attention!) 😅 Then there’s Leona smack dab in the middle, the wind tossing his hair out and the artists, once again, trying their darnest to show as much of his chest without technically showing it LOL-- making an interesting expression???? I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s like a subdued arrogance and confidence that comes from a place of knowing he can probably outsmart and outperform his rivals.

May I please request the Noah’s Ark Circus crew with a multilingual s/o? I legit feel like the s/o would call them pet names in their native language on a regular basis. I speak English, Spanish, and French irl.

aaaaaaaaa cute!!

Oh, God, just make ‘er weak in the knees, why don’t y’? There’s something about not knowing her S/O’s language that frustrates her, because she only speaks English. However, what makes up for it is the fact that she learns certain words based on what they call her. ‘Mi amor’? That’s the equivalent of her calling them ‘love’, and it makes her feel… happy. She learns by the tone of their voice that what they’re calling her is a very affectionate thing, so… that’s all she needs to know. (She does make sure she knows at least one curse word in one of their languages, though. Just in case she needs it.)

Aaaah… will they say nice things t’ ‘im that ‘e doesn’t understand, often? For whatever reason, that hits him in a part of his heart that he can’t fully describe, to himself or anyone else. Sometimes he feels bad that he doesn’t know everything they’re saying, but, then again, they don’t expect him to. All he really wants is to listen to them calling him pet names, and blush, and cuddle up to them as he returns the sentiment in English. “Lumière de ma vie”… please don’t ever stop calling him that? He knows what it means, and it makes him smile, and he wants to hear it at least once every day.

Oh, goodness! Their sweet’eart knows wot they like t’ ‘ear, don’t they? This is possibly one of the best concepts they’ve ever had in their life; wonderful little terms of endearment, just for them, in a language they don’t speak. They know their S/O must be calling them good things, because of the tone of voice… it makes them feel so warm. Although they know that, it doesn’t stop them from asking (Name) to give them some basic lessons. Don’t blame them, they just want to be able to hold a small conversation in another language. Plus… they want to be able to call their S/O “querida/querido” like (Name) does to them.

Awww, well, doesn’t ‘e got the mos’ darlin’ li’l thing on ‘is arm? Really, he doesn’t know what he did to deserve them, but he’ll gladly do it again if that means they won’t stop. Much as he’s interested in other languages, he doesn’t feel like he has the time nor energy to commit to learning a new one. Just listening to his S/O call him things like “amoreaux” and they do it in the most loving tone imaginable, that’s close enough. He loves to listen to them talk in whatever language they feel like talking in, and he could drift off to their voice if he felt like it. And although he’s self-conscious about his pronunciation… they might be able to get him to (shyly) say a few romantic things in whatever language they choose. He aims to please, after all!

Mmmh… they’re way too sweet t’ ‘im, ain’t they? Callin’ ‘im nice things like that. On one hand, he doesn’t feel like he deserves it. On the other hand… a couple of pet names in, and he starts to melt. After the first two or three times his S/O calls him some loving name in another language, it begins to break him down. He’s very much a person who lets his S/O do whatever as long as it’s not harmful to them or anyone else, so that’s his approach to this too. “Tesoro” is one that gets him to blush, more than any other, since he’s learned what these things mean. To be treasured by someone… ah, well… he thinks he can live with that.

Nnnnnghh, do they really ‘afta call ‘im nice, soft things like that all the time? It’s not like he hates it, of course not. He just… he finds it hard to handle, the fact that someone wants to give him these pet names that are so much better than he thinks he is. He doesn’t understand the other languages, but he knows from what his S/O tells him what those words mean that they call him. For whatever reason, his absolute favorite is when they murmur, “bel homme” to him in any situation. It’s… not really so bad, when he adjusts to it. He also makes them teach him every curse word in every language they know. Hey, he might need one of them someday!!

(Goodness, what a charmer. You should find something sweet to call them in return.) He… supposes that wouldn’t be a bad idea, Wordsworth. A… any suggestions?! As it stands, Snake is actually the one who understands more of these languages than his S/O might expect. He likes to read, so it’s not far-fetched to think he’s come across a few of them before. Though… he’s still incredibly flustered by any of them being used on him. His S/O calling him “mi corazón” — how does he respond? Use that term back to them? Or something else…? He gets nervous trying to use the snakes’ comments for flirting, even though they’re happy to help. He just sort of curls up against (Name) and stammers out a thank you, managing to call them ‘love’ or something similar before blushing a whole bunch.

Aah, well… are they sure they wanna say stuff like that t’ ‘er? Hah, once they say it… they can’t take it back! The languages themselves are lost on her except for picking up bits and pieces from what they say, but the intent behind them isn’t. Even though she might not know exactly what they’re saying, she knows what they’re saying. Being called something even so simple as “ma chérie” makes her blush a bit; it makes her feel as if her S/O is treating her just like any other woman, and she enjoys that immensely. Once in a while, she’ll nestle into them and ask if they might call her one of those pet names, or she’ll ask what they’d like her to call them in another language. She’s… surprisingly comfortable with it.

aaaah sorry i didn’t see this yesterday! yes!! it would be so cute! okay let me get into this:

aesthetically daniel has more snow white vibes and johnny would absolutely rock either a cinderella fit or a sleeping beauty one but in terms of story it would fit so well! also i feel totally normal about evil king kreese who would ask the hunter (bobby?) to take out johnny because he’s threatening his power, he’s the actual heir, etc etc. (he’s the prettiest princess in the karate kingdom!) bobby would of course let johnny leave because that’s his buddy and johnny would go and find a little house in the woods. im thinking maybe all that happens when they’re young (and prince daniel might have had a crush/rivalry with prince johnny when they were kids) and then we flash forward to johnny, now a very resourceful guy who lives at the edges of the kingdom and has this pack of kids who lives with him. he’s friends with people in the village at the outskirts of the forest and even if he’s a bit of a mess, they all act like they don’t know that the guy who comes around and sometimes help to fix their rooftops and stuff is the lost prince of the kingdom.

daniel is sent on a quest to find the lost prince because his own kingdom is under attack from king kreese and another mysterious monarch (you know it’s silver) and he needs to strengthen his kingdom’s claim to certain titles and lands. bobby kinda leads him to where he thinks johnny might be but he warns him that johnny will probably refuse to come back so daniel has to work his charm and get him to agree to fight with them so maybe daniel plays the role of a vagabond traveler who just happens to find johnny’s home and the kids are like “johnny!! you can’t kick him out!! he has nowhere to go!!" and then of course, falling in love montage before the big reveal that daniel has hidden his identity ("you LIED to me!" "i had to! im sorry, i just wanted you to give me a chance to explain myself but everything else is real, this thing between you and me is real, i swear!") and for a while daniel has to leave because johnny is so hurt but then he’s called back to the house by miguel because, surprise, johnny got poisoned (now you get to imagine either silver or kreese dressed like old ladies with poisoned apples) and they’ve put him in this glass casket and he’s so eerily beautiful but daniel doesn’t like how still he looks, how pale and he just, presses a small kiss to johnny’s lips, just to say goodbye and then you know, true love and all that jazz. (they kick kreese and silver’s asses and get married and daniel introduces his children to johnny’s rag tag team of kids and johnny introduces his friend carmen to platonic consort amanda)

The end of the year is so close, right? I don’t know if we’ll have another release before that, as the digital release of chapter 58 could be around the 14th of December as it’s around a month after the physical (but probably later) and, well, we have a life and those times are busy irl, as you may all know.

Taking advantage of this chapter’s release, I stand by what I said: Tsutamaru needs a spin-off!! He’s such a great potential lead character. Either with Take-nii or with some new character, he deserves his own manga (with guest appearances of the lovebirds, of course). I hope sensei really has that as a possible idea when she puts an end to Hanakoi. Plus, that’ll mean more Kabuki-stories and more Oni-grandpa showing up sometimes! Oh, and if you’re interested in the play featured in this chapter and the previous, check this link: https://www.kabuki21.com/benten_kozo.php. The complete story is even more interesting than the summary that sensei has written.

Anyway, is there someone cuter and more goreous than Sougo?!! He can even make the usually "hard nut to crack" Tsutamaru blush!! And that first page, in full colour... I think he's my favourite uke in all of sensei's stories.

BTW, I don’t know if you know (maybe not all of you), but you’ll see it in this chapter, Ameiro Paradox will have a live action adaptation!! It’ll be aired on the 15th, go to sensei’s twitter (@isakuna) if you want to see the actors that will bring them to life, they’re cute!! Aaaah, if we could get a Hanakoi one…

P.1 — Finding family

Platonic, female reader

Note: After this I kind of ran out of ideas for scenarios with this Jackalope fae + diasomnia. This was fun to write at least!

You carried yourself with ease, with your footsteps were light but your belt making a harsh clanking. Passed by a lot of students with different color vests, they all seemed to back away and make room for you.

“Who’s that chick, and why is she carrying a sword?”

“She’s kinda pretty.”

You turned your head at that comment and tilted your head.

“Oh, what was that?” You asked while pointing at yourself.

“You idiot!”

“Nothing!”

Then the two boys ran off. You shrugged and continued your way. You stood in front of the mirror with Diasomnia written above with a symbol.

You hopped through carefully and you found yourself on the hard floor. You made your way towards the building at a fast pace.

The door opened and you took your chance to fly through it. You almost tripped due to the friction but you regained balance and looked around.

“Who is that?!” Someone asked but a familiar hair of silver locks became visible in the crowd.

“[Name]?” He softly asked.

“Brother!” You called with enthusiasm. You swiftly ran over to him with only a few steps and captured him in a hug.

He took a step back to keep you two balanced and he put one hand around you and smiled.

The smile soon dropped as if he remembered he shouldn’t and he gently pushed you away.

“Why are you here? How are you here?” He sternly asked.

“I came to see you. Not just you actually.” You quickly added. “And I got in here completely legally.”

“Well, that’s what I hoped…” He said. “The master is in his room, I’d assume the rest of them are there too.”

“Then let’s go there.” You said while nudging him towards the stairs nearby. The people there were watching your every move carefully. You felt their eyes peering at you but decided to ignore it.

You moved up the stairs alongside Silver. He has always been quiet but a lot less with you. You looked over at him expectantly but he merely glanced back with a confused stare.

“Silver, aren’t you gonna say something to me?”

“Is there anything that needs to be said?”

“You could’ve asked me how I’ve been doing lately.”

“I already know. You tell me over text. Speaking of which, why didn’t you tell me you were visiting?” Questioned Silver with suspicion.

“Cause you would’ve told me not to come and surprises are always better.” You stated.

Silver stopped you and faced a door to the right. Without hesitation, you knocked on the door which startled the ones inside.

You felt an anxious feeling in your stomach as you heard footsteps getting closer. The door slowly opened and Sebek revealed himself.

“What busines— [NAME]?!”

“Good day, Sebek.” You said while passing by him with a closed eye smile. “Please pardon the intrusion.”

Silver repeated the same and you opened your eyes. You kneeled down and bowed.

“Good afternoon, Master.” You said. Malleus nodded while sitting down with his legs crossed.

“What brings you here, [name]?” He asked with a monotone voice.

“I c—!”

“You’ve grown so much!” A deep voice squealed as you felt hands touch your horns and ears.

“A-AAAaH!!” You slapped away the hands that so carelessly grabbed at your horns. “Father— How many times I have told you to not touch any of my jackalope features.”

“I’m sorry but they’re so cute, sometimes I can’t help it.” He said while standing up straight. “Welcome back, [Name], or should I say Sergeant?”

You smirked at the title yet continued to bow. “I see you’re climbing up the ranks. Truly impressive for a girl your age.”

“Thank you for your praise.” You blushed at the compliment. “I’ve come to visit on a rare opportunity. Being a Sergeant, its a lot of responsibility.”

You stood up and smiled. Lilia took that opportunity to brush his fingers through your hair.

“Awwww you’ve grown so tall… You’re even taller than me!~ You’re so pretty! I bet all the boys like you.”

“Spoken like a true dad.” Silver commented while Sebek watched with pity.

“Let me do your hair like back then!” Lilia suggested, but in the end it wasn’t really a suggestion, it was a demand.

“Must we do this in the Master’s room?” You asked while Lilia styled your hair.

Lilia shook his head, “Malleus, you don’t mind, do you?“

“No, I don’t mind.”

“See!”

Silver looked at you sympathetically as he remembered when Lilia played with his hair too. Even now, Lilia wants him to keep his hair a bit long so he can play around with it.

“How are things here? I have no time for a normal education. Well, maybe this is more education on magic.” You thought. You were in a military school yet still apart of the military for Briar Valley.

“It’s been fine.”

“It’s been interesting.”

“It’s been troublesome..”

“I’d say it’s pleasant.”

“Mixed opinions I see.”

Lilia used some magic to create a flower and put it in your hair. You stood up and shook your head and stretched.

“Ahh.. Anyways, I’m bored.” You said while peering over at Sebek with a mischievous smile.

“Hey, don’t mess up your hair!”

“Sebek…” Your eyes shined with an evil glint as you charged at him and jumped on him with ease.

“Urgghh… I told you to stop with this!!” He shouted. And yet, he supported you by putting his arms under your knees and around your waist. To steady yourself, you wrapped your arms around his neck.

“So? You’re the one holding me right now. Silver would just dodge me or drop me if I did it to him so I jump on you.” You pointing accusingly at the knight.

Sebek set you down softly while you whined.

“Sebek, you use to carry me a lot. Especially when I injured my leg.” You reminisced while looking up.

“I remember most of the time, you faked it or hurt yourself on purpose so you could be carried by one of us.” Silver crossed his arms. You coughed and shook your head profusely at the comment.

“Anyway, I take your magic ability as increased?” That question was directed at Sebek and Silver, Malleus and Lilia knew that for a fact.

“Of course! I’m working hard in my studies.”

“I’ve taken extra classes to practice my magic, mostly in offense rather than defence.”

You nodded as you brought out your small ring that held your gem. It worked the same way as the magic pen Night Raven uses.

“I haven’t actually practiced in a hot minute, wait that’s a lie. I’ve been working on adding different elements into weapons.” You brought out your sword that was held around your waist. You wielded it and it began to glow red and heat radiated from it.

“Impressive, that technique is difficult with how you have to pour magic into the object instead of around it.” Malleus commented with a small praise.

“Th-thank you… I’m still trying to find my fighting style. Right now, I’m just mixing whatever I see.” You swing your sword through the air and you pointed it at Sebek.

“Sebek, may we hold a demonstration duel? Just to see how far we’ve improved.”

He accepted the challenge without hesitation. Somehow, the news spread throughout the dorm and it was no surprise that people gathered around.

“It’s that girl from earlier.”

“Do you really think she’ll be able to take on Sebek… He’s pretty strong.”

You paid no mind to the whispering as you looked over at Lilia. “Don’t worry about damages you two, I set up a barrier already.”

You nodded and withdrew your sword slowly and took a stance. Sebek did the same, he wielded a regular sword but you noted his pen that was tucked in his pocket.

“Three, two, one, begin!” Silver declared. You didn’t make a move as you knew Sebek was going for the first hit.

As you predicted, Sebek made the first move but it was unique. You felt yourself sink into the floor a smidge. You lifted your foot and the ground was mushy and it was slippery.

“Dirty tactic..!” You commented as you readied yourself to defend as he flew towards you with his sword.

You used your heel to slide across the floor, still staying balanced as you felt his blade cut in half without fail.

Your sword cooled from the input of fire, Sebek didn’t drop the sword despite the blade being cut in half. It was one quick movement and the sword was right in front of you.

You dodged by moving your upper body to the side and you grabbed his arm at the opportunity. You flipped him over with a big struggle from him.

“She just flipped him?!”

“Embarrassing on his end..”

You nearly fell back yourself with how much he was struggling. You pointed your sword down at his neck and grinned.

“Seems like [Name] wins.” Silver declared. You put your sword back in its sheath and looked down at your shoes, which were covered in mud.

“R-rematch!”

“It’s apparent who’s more skilled.” Malleus spoke up, “She defeated you, she hardly had to use her magic or sword to defeat you.”

Sebek bit back his words and nodded. You could tell he felt rather insulted and it was an unfair advantage from the beginning.

“It was expected, no offense, I train everyday and I’m a high ranking officer.” You realized your words were just adding salt in the wound and you didn’t say anything more. “It mostly just came down to technique. You were straight forward and I took advantage of it. You jabbed forward with the sword and I was able to grab your arm because you put your full force into it.”

“So it’s about reaction time?” Sebek asked. It seems that he wishes to improve from his mistake.

You could see how he’s changed. Usually, when you would beat him in swordplay, he would berate you and call it foul play.

“Yes, ah wow. Sebek you’ve changed so much!! It’s hard to think that I’ve known you for nearly a decade!”

“Why are you talking as if you’re older?” Sebek questioned saltily.

EDIT: Also, I didn’t see that you answered my ask about Meg and Hercules, so I’m sorry that some info is off😭.

Hercules and MC Friendship AU part 1: Hercules’s Songs.

Okay my song breakdown is of 2 covers of a song called, “Love me, love me, love me,” and they’re English covers of a Japanese song. Here is the cover by LittleJayneyCakes and here’s the other by JubyPhonic, which I will be using the lyrics from. I’ll be switching back and forth (since some lyrics I like from one and then some I like from the other) to make them fit the theme, and I’ll make sure to say where they come from :).

Anyways, after looking at the comments, you learn that this isn’t a yandere song (tho it sounds a lot like it), and is instead about golden child syndrome. The syndrome where a child will do anything it takes to get love from their parent(s). It’s shown in the lyrics such as:

(JubyPhonic): “I’m doing so well have you heard? You see, you see, I’m such a good girl! Cute as a button you heard.”

But sometimes it edges into a dangerous line, where the person is getting hurt.

JubyPhonic: “You see, you see, so good this girl. In pain I scream you see?!”

And then I’ll switch the JayneyCakes’s lyrics at that some moment which is: “Hey, hey, lovely just like me. Aren’t I the cutest of all? Hey, hey, I’m good, aren’t I? If you say no I’ll cry!” The doubt and the NEED to KNOW if they’re doing good just hits and proves the point more.

And then Jubyphonic’s “Aishite” (which is the original Japanese line at this point) is instead, “Love me I say,” while JayneyCakes is “Love me I beg,” which I feel FITS SO GOOD.

Jubyphonic: “Love me I say, love me I say, love me I say, more and more! Love me I say, love me away! Until I’m not completely sane.” I used to hear this line as “Love me you say,” which is like the parent is telling the kid to love them, which I feel could also fit, but “love me I say,” is what she actually sings.

JayneyCakes: “Love me I beg! Love me I beg! Love me I beg! More and more! And love me I beg! Love me I BEG! Till we feel madness creeping in.” (Highly recommend listening so you can hear the pure emotion in her voice and how hard it hits)

Now, how does this fit with Hercules and MC? Well, I listen to this song and I hear Hercules so heavy in it. Like, you could say it fits Alex (since they do so much to please their mother and Olympus in general), but this song is to an even higher degree than what Alex does, just like Hercules is. I cannot remember too much about Hercules, but from what I remember the reason he’s taking the auras is because Zeus promised him he’d be able to become a full god (Top Tier I believe) if he collected a certain amount of Aura’s.

I see him going above and beyond because he even stole Meg’s who, I believe, was Hercules’s love at the time. He’s stealing auras and doing whatever it takes to please his father and other Olympians, and he’s definitely been doing this for years and years. Probably since he was born. We see how demigods are treated on Olympus, such as Zeus calling Deukalion’s human side a “weakness”, and we definitely know that belief plays a part in Hercules’ life and how he acts. I’m so certain he’s been told his human side is a weakness ALL his life, definitely in the old days. And I feel like a part of him hates him, which I imagine from these lyrics following the previous:

LittleJayneyCakes: “Its agony, it’s agony, this curse I bear. Undo it, undo it, hey!” But he’s gotten so used to it that he can’t be stopped. “It can’t be stopped now, no, AAAAH!!”

And Hercules has gotten so used to it that he doesn’t think twice about stealing the auras. Just like the lyrics from LittleJayneyCakes. He changes over time, growing older with each century and Millenia.

LittleJayneyCakes: “Time goes on, time goes on, changes come to your frame, but the collar stays the same.” He’s so used to it. “It’s agonizing now, but this is nothing new. People just, people just, they’re not enough!”

The “collar” its mentioning is metaphorical that is sung about in the beginning, only mentioned about finding a collar and tying it around their neck and it becoming tighter and “blinding” their vision (in both versions with diff lyrics). I didn’t mention it because I wanted to jump right into it, but the collar is metaphorical. To me, the collar symbolizes the control the parent has and how it’s grown tighter.

Zeus’s control on Hercules, and even other divine beings, has changed over time and definitely become harsher.

JubyPhonics (the same time where JayneyCakes was at): “Grow as you may like a sweet summers day, but this collar will stay just the same. I’m hurting and bleed, I need more to feed. Get people, more people the choker would scream!”

This is where I was secondly hit the most with Hercules thoughts, with both lyrics but here’s both that follow immediately after the previous (with JayneyCakes REALLY hitting the Hercules feeling):

JubyPhonic: “I am the best in my class they attest, I’m a girl far above all the rest. From better than Rose, to better than all you. People, oh people, look only at me!”

JayneyCakes: “I vow to not lose to anyone in my class, aren’t I such a lovely child? (Hey). From more than that child! To more than that child! Ladies and gentlemen, gather ‘round, marvel at me!”

He’s doing all this to get everyone to look at him and give him validation. To give him love and for him to PROVE himself through anything. No matter what it takes. Even if it means he loses things he cares for. I can’t remember too much about our guy Hercules (since I can’t bring myself to watch Hydra’s route all over again rn tho I love him) but I can bet he’s lost a lot in his life too, since he’s followed everyone rules and guidance, even when it is bad. These lyrics both hit me, so I can’t really choose. They’re both just SO great, at least in these lines:

Jubyphonic: “Meeting alone in the yard, from me to you confessing my heart. Was it a lie from the start? To say I love you from afar, as filthy a creature you are!”

JayneyCakes: “Behind the gymnasium, when I told you that I was in love. Wasn’t that kind of a lie? I love you so, so very much, even though I think that you’re TRASH!

This feels like the Olympians (especially Zeus) giving him attention and validation, but still letting him know his human side is a weakness. They love him, but see him as weak (filthy creature) and not worth it (trash).

And then the golden child syndrome shows heavily here. Especially in Juby’s side. He’s willing to do whatever it takes and it’s plainly stated.

Jubyphonic: “Love me I say, love me I say, love me I say, take what you want of me. Taking from me, taking from me! All that I have and all that I keep!” And then Olympus’s POV: “Screaming for more. You’re not enough! Screaming for more. I couldn’t give you up, Ah!”

And then a big part that I can’t really decide who it’s coming from, since I see these songs as a conversation almost. Is this Olympus apologizing to him? Or Hercules apologizing to who he’s hurt? And may hurt in the future?

Jubyphonic: “I am just so sorry!” And then it goes into the “Love me I say,” and such, BUT adds the part, “Love me away, until I’m not completely sane! Torturing me, strangling me, torturing me. More and more, more and more, ahh!!” I see this as the collar continuing to tighten and tighten, until:

“Aren’t I so happy today?”

BUT JayneyCakes side hurts too (this is the part where Juby is all “taking from me”): “Love me I beg, love me I beg, love me I beg, I’ll give you everything. But in return, but in return! I’ll make you share this hatred I bear. It’s not enough, YOU’RE not enough, just not enough! But I won’t let you go, ahhh!!! I’m sorry about this!” And then travels back into the “love me I beg” from the beginning, but instead of Juby’s final lyrics they say:

“Love me I beg! Till we feel madness creeping in. It’s agony- I won’t let go- it’s agony. Strangle me, strangle me, hey!!” And then the part that feels so Hercules to me, something I bet he wonders:

“Isn’t this happiness?”

And then she screams. She screams!!! JUST AH!! It hits so good. These lyrics feel like such a Hercules song because I believe he’s doing so much of his fathers bidding bc he wants to become a top tier god. The people who are seen as ‘important’ in Olympus and who have respect from everyone! They’re true gods, no matter what, and that’s how he can become worth it. It’s how he can be seen as ‘perfect’ in his eyes. He wants to see the validation and live, no matter the cost.

Even if it hurts him, terribly so, or others around him. He’ll give whatever it takes, even parts of himself, to Olympus to be seen as worth it. And he’s lived so long that the question, “Isn’t this happiness?” Feels like a genuine question he might ask. He’s lived like this for so long….does he even know any other way? Any other way to live? Or is this it? Taking from others to gain approval, is it the only thing he knows?

That’s my first part of this AU I have involving MC and Hercules friendship. I wanted to break down these 2 covers because these lyrics always hit me as Hercules, AND MC AS WELL!! I’ll explain the MC part later (so this might be a 3 part…..I’m not sure yet) and then how I see their friendship forming and the point of these posts.

I love you Meg!! And I hope I didn’t come off as too sympathetic to Hercules. He’s done some fucked up shit, but a part of me sees a little deeper into it, just like we do with Zeus and Eros and any other insufferable God lol. I hope you enjoy the breakdowns and I highly recommend listening to both! They’re so good and it’s the only way to really hear the emotion and see what I mean! Especially LittleJayneyCakes (she puts her whole life into this cover). If you do, I’d love to hear your thoughts, but if not then that’s okay!!
