Something silly regarding the Shrek Universe logic.
If one princess like Fiona can make birds explode, and others like Snow White can call and use the animals at her will to attack enemies (to the tune of Inmigrant Song)... what could happen if Death Wolf sings?
Everyone (especially Puss) could expect something apocalyptic and destructive to happen, but if the Wolf is given a chance to play a guitar on a stage or in the forest and sing, at the first verse the skies would open and heavenly creatures would descend expecting to pick up a fallen hero as some stories despict.
Death Wolf: 🎶Who is your favorite, fearless hero? Who is you~🎶
(The skies open and two angels descend from the Heavens)
Angel #39349292: You called good sir?
(Team Friendship is mesmerized by the otherworldly beings while Wolf gives a heavy sigh, both annoyed and ashamed)
Death: See? This (points at the angels) is why I can't sing in peace!
Perrito: Ohhhh, so that's why you only get to whistle.
Puss: You... you can call-?
Death: Tell anyone about this and you are gato muerto.
Angel #45369231: So I suppose that's the hero we are suppose to carry.
Kitty: He's not dead!
Angel #45369231: (to Death) Are you going to kill him now?
Death: No! Claro que no!
Angel #39349292:
Angel #39349292: Are we supposed to kill him-
Death, Puss and Kitty: NO
(The mortals and inmortals get into a miscommunication argument that last for an hour or more)
Angel #45369231: (annoyed) You know what? If you're planning to make a concert, warn us first. It ain't easy to descend to the Mortal Realm every time you decide to be King David. Goodbye.
(Angel disappears)
Angel #39349292: (To Puss) See you at the end of your last life!
(Other angel disappears. Team friendship and Wolf are silent for a moment until Kitty speaks)
Kitty: (smirking) Have anyone told you that you have a heavenly voice?
Death: (hiding his face with his hood) Cállate Softpaws.

Kat we are watching your WIP list grow by the second aren't we? The (Presumed) Sith: Who Done It we didn't know we needed 😂😭 May the Force be with you 🫣
... on another note, all I can imagine is Ferus "red lightsaber" Olin dropping in on a clone mission gone wrong a la biblically accurate angels.
Ferus: Be not afraid
Clones: *guns cocking*
Ferus, sweating and brandishing his lightsaber: I said be not afraid!?
Clones: 😒 *blaster fire*
Look, we all knew that the odds of me coming out of a reread without at least 27 new WIPs were infinitesimal. Miniscule. Practically vanishing.
God the clones would be so suspicious and it would be so fucking funny, because Ferus is a lot of things but a picture of sketchiness and cruelty is not among them at all. He'd scare the hell out of whatever squads he saved and then promptly confuse the hell out of them the moment the blaster bolts stopped flying.

Any thoughts on Beckett VTM? [:
Cuthbert Beckett Vampirethemasquerade... I can't say i have many thoughts, i haven't read the books etc but I have a peripheral understanding of what goes on, and he's a fun character!
Loved him in the game, found it very fun to find out he Does So Much More in the books ie. fucking nasty, being an ethically challenged historian, and having horny beef with THE ANGEL OF CAINE. And he's so snarky, his line '... Sebastian, was it?' made me laugh, and it was fun to have him as a source of Kindred lore ingame as the dialogue he presents it with also gives Beckett a lot of character, instead of solely being the info-dump exposition NPC. He's probably had to deal with So Much Shit from high ranking kindred in different domains, it's like a reward when he gets to be a bitch towards them <3
Also, augh, I LOVE his design! It's so cool! Luminant orange eyes with pricked pupils shining from behind a pair of sunglasses? Long flowing hair? CLAWS? Can turn into a wolf? Serving biblically accurate vampiric cunt
Him being a general menace was also v fun in the game, because he's there for the 'odd goings on' in LA, and then later for the mystery surrounding the sarcophagus; he won't waste time with pleasantries/bootlicking the Domain's Prince/Regent/Baron/Bishop because him as an Autarkis really doesn't care. He's here for the potential historical artefact and the chance to find further insight into the origins of Kindred, and it's not in his character to entertain some Kindred two-hundred years his junior trying to throw around weight they don't have.
Reckon he has a huge pain tolerance + general endurance, apparently he's run the length of a football stadium in sunlight and I'd believe that. That coupled with his Gangrel feral marks makes for this really interesting contrast between his appearance + physical capabilities and his academic pursuits and passions, usually with this kind of character they don't tend to be a full indiana jones-type; he pulls it off v well! Wonder if this also has an in-universe basis as well, as other Kindred may excpect Beckett to be of the more 'academic' or esteemed clans that'd pursue what he does - I know some thought him Malkavian because of his adoptive sire and general mannerisms but hey, who knows, lmao
I can see him plummeting into the Depths of obsession when it comes to things like Kindred history and artefacts etc., there's a cloying pull to both finding out that which has been forgotten or lost (and perhaps should've stayed that way), as well as getting the chance to say He was the one who discovered it. That can come at the cost of friendships, his health, things like that, though. Beckett does have a fair bit of clout and/or infamy in some Kindred circles thanks to his exploits, what with the line 'my reputation, for once, doesn't precede me.' He's used to being known, used to being as much spectacle as his quests themselves.
As a last general thought, I can see Beckett being quite vain in his own way - maintaining hair like his, aesthetics like his, makes it feel that he does put thought and time into how he comes across, both as a personal reason and tactical in order to best do his job and keep up appearances as THE Beckett, Noddist and Archaeologist
So yeah! Thank you for the ask, had fun talking about mister not-werewolf-but-there-is-a-wolf-in-there-somewhere!

what do you expect, want, think H5 will be like? any ideas?
Oh man, so many. None of them are very organized right now, and they're all based off my memory of things H has said/done recently, and rumors online. But here are some of my thoughts!
(Also it's gonna get a little parasocial with a whole lot of speculation.)
I have to shout out some sources here: this one that breaks down all the clues on the formylasttrick website and this one keeping track of the rumors/theories that people have so far and also this one detailing some "insider" rumors about the release of the first single/video
In short:
People are picking up big 70s vibes, references to disappearing, references to magicians/magic tricks, some rabbit hole references, maybe something about Biblically accurate angels, etc.
I've also noticed Halsey referencing some things a lot in their social media posts. Spiders were a theme of the orchestral shows they did at the beginning of 2023 (merch was sold with the phrase "the life of the spider") and H recently posted an Instagram spread that included a photo of a spider on a piano with the caption "me writing." They've also posted more than one photo of herself in wings, specifically butterfly wings and angel wings. These posts often came with references to cocoons or rebirth.
Halsey has been going through it lately, and I think a big part of why they stepped away from social media so much is because they needed to grieve privately. Their relationship with Alev, their health struggles, the death threats and SWATting scares - I think their relative silence and distance in 2023 was to protect the space they needed to heal and grow while going through a lot of tough shit. And I think this is going to be a very vulnerable album as a result, because she's had time to try to process things with a bit more distance from the public eye. This album has also been hinted at as being "A2" - aka similar to Manic in that it's an Ashley album, and not as much of a Halsey album. Less dressed up in a concept or a specific aesthetic and more abstract and reflective of a her as a complex person.
Because of that, I really have no idea where the genre is going to go, or if we'll be able to really pinpoint an exact aesthetic or vibe. Manic is - intentionally - a very all over the place album, and I think we could be hearing a similar theme with H5.
It's interesting, because one of the things that happened in the lead-up to Manic was that Halsey changed her mind. The "Nightmare" video was the first place Manic was ever teased. For awhile, H was talking about making a really angry, punk-rock, feminist rage album. And then things shifted for her, and the vibe on Manic ended up being completely different - so much so that "Nightmare" didn't find a home until IICHLIWP. And I think something similar might have happened here.
If you asked me eighteen months ago, before Halsey and Alev broke up, I would've said that I expected a fully pop album, in the vein of "So Good" and this song snippet they posted on TikTok. It really seemed like that was where they were headed. But then 2023 happened, and I think things changed. Based on the little hints we have, I think this is going to be a more 70s folk rock kind of vibe.
What I don't think it will be: a pop album, anything hip-hop/rnb a la HFK, a hard rock or industrial album, a cohesive concept album like IICHLWIP, HFK, or Badlands.
I would personally love to see something a little more stripped down. More guitar, piano, violin, less synth and vocal mods. I've kind of already had my ideal producer for H - it'll be very hard for anyone to beat Trent Reznor at this point, for me. Would be wild if they worked with Lido again, lolololol. It'll be interesting to see what direction they take for the production style.
So yeah, I don't have any really hard and fast theories, other than I think this will be a really vulnerable album, it likely won't be pop (like it first seemed it might,) and it will likely have 70s influences and the references I mentioned up top.
On the bright side, if the insider rumors are correct (and a lot of times, they are, "insider" usually just means "this celebrity's manager") we won't have to wait too long! There's allegedly going to be a single and a video to go with it in the second half of February!

sometimes incomprehensibility is a survival mechanism
this is atrium or gall (any pronouns), an 'angel' who, although often resembling what others might deem 'biblically accurate', is uh. not actually very. biblically accurate. (although, side note, in-universe he chooses to base his appearance partially on that idea of 'biblically accurate' angels) this is what he deems his 'face', as in, all his various features and wing-tendrils and what have you arranged in such a way that you can see both his halos (yes, plural) and the platform (for other angels to just kinda hang out on) at once.
atrium is both a 'nursery', in that he's always growing new angels (those glowing specks all over his physical halos? clusters of new angels), and also a building for angels to gather in, and in a few cases live in. those wing-tendrils can form plenty of the weaving tunnels and burrows that angels love the most. so his halos are almost never this visible in day-to-day life - again, usually far more physically incomprehensible. loads of eyes, loads of spikes, so much of his body all over the place. gotta keep the thousands and millions of children safe from predators. until they detach, at which point... "eh. c'est la vie" is the general angelic opinion.

Been a while since I drew my OC Michaela, so here's a timeline of looks for her! Some details under the cut for those unfamiliar with her story:
Her first look is meant to evoke holy robes, of the sort you might see on traditional depictions of an angel. Michaela has a strong angel theme, going as far as introducing herself in both fics with "Be not afraid". She's also wrapped up warm because she's spent the majority of her life in a small village in the Scottish mountains, and the rough terrain is also the reason she has sensible boots.
After leaving that village, she travels further south into a slightly warmer climate so she can study, and she gets a shorter, more practical haircut to reflect her new life. She's also dressing a bit more professionally because of her aim to become a proper prosecutor, although she's a little bit behind on what constitutes current fashion trends.
At some point between the fics, she moves to Japanifornia, and that's where she tries on heels for the first time - having avoided them due to her own natural 5'11 stature - and decides she never wants to take them off. She also tries using a hairdryer, resulting in straighter hair, but unfortunately LA's clothing scene doesn't really cater to tall women, so she resorts to using menswear.
We see the angel theme return in her LT:AA design, more in the "biblically accurate" sense, as her belt and sleeve garters evoke the idea of a wheel of eyes. The white scarf ties back to her original design, and the rest of her outfit is reflective of her being a professional woman now, a qualified prosecutor. Her haircut is the result of an encounter with some kids and their chewing gum.
After LT:AA, and after dumping her boyfriend, she starts to embrace her femme side again and allows her hair to return to its natural waves. Her friends help her find outlets where she can find more feminine clothes that suit her, so she's able to express herself the way she could back in the UK. She also changes her glasses to a frame shape that shows off more of her face, and in the outfits that don't include white, she still keeps the angel imagery as we see with the wheel-of-eyes belt.

A gender relating to biblically accurate angels and coyotes.
Etymology: "Celestial" comes from the term "celestial beings" (typically in reference to angels), "latrans" comes from the scientific name for coyotes "canis latrans"

La Columbina
Took a lot of inspiration from biblically-accurate angels for this design, so I guess we have a biblically-accurate Columbina, haha. Also might re-draw this one later with a more dynamic pose so keep an eye out.

Roux: Hollow, we are afraid of you.
Zin: Yes, but nothing beats our fear of our own mother.
Wolfredo: No, it isn't because she would give us La Chancla™ it's because-
Pokerface: IT'S BECAUSE SHE SEES THIS TYPA SHIT CUTE.
Tumblr media
Pokerface: WHEN MET IT, SHE WASN'T EVEN AFFECTED BY THE THING SHE WENT 'Aw what a cute centipede <3' BITCH🤚.
Xen: First of all, that thing is no where in the cute category, second of all her creator Hyper also saw it as cute.
(this is true I found it cute it was over a discord call and l3xdrigo was flabbergasted)
"What the FUCK IS THAT-" Scrappy Mirabel yelled, utterly terrified that Hollow found the giant animal cute.
Observer Mirabel can be seen as a twenty feet tall tiger that had the teeth of a jaguar, looking below a tiny chimera cub and it's parent looking at her in caution.
Hollow Julieta can be seen petting the small chimera cub.
Solaris looked at her, "Huh. She even finds dangerous mythical creatures cute."
"What about that?" Shadow Facade points above them.
A biblically accurate angel looking down on them with a concerned expression towards Hollow Julieta.
The Alicorn Goddess blinked.
"Yep, she finds that adorable." Solaris stated.
Shadow Facade points at a girl who was on the floor, not having legs since she was ran over by a train. "She hugged her before answering her question."
"...get that teke teke out of my sight. NOW."

Ramblings about Lucifer referencing Bones, “Close your eyes.” and shows influencing each other
That was never just a Bones reference being made and the season finale admitted it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv_1dJk5yEM
David Boreanaz played the ironically-named Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series. His character has *so many* parallels with Lucifer (far more than Booth outside of the law enforcement/crime procedural connection).
Angel's spinoff also has noir crime drama aspects mixed with the supernatural starring an immortal protagonist with a dark past and infamously villainous reputation fighting evil as a supernatural private detective in the City of Angels (a city known for its dark underbelly juxtaposed with fame and glamor, broken dreams and chasing eternal youth) and navigating human law (including the LAPD and evil lawyers) while not legally existing.
Angel also fell in love with a blonde human heroine (Buffy Summers) after lifetimes of self-destructive, not-so-heroic behaviors (getting his soul back did *not* make Angel a hero and human Liam was a lecherous drunk with unfulfilled ambitions and father issues) who inspired him to become a better man and make human connections.
AtS made heavy use of sprawling nighttime Downtown L.A. cityscape shots, which Lucifer also shared an abundance of.
During both of their first cases, they failed to save the troubled blonde girl they were trying to help (Tina and Delilah, respectively). They also have a connection inside the LAPD through a blonde cop who also takes their identity secrets pretty badly (Kate Lockley in Angel's case).
Note that Buffy not only screamed (twice, given it repeated during her memory loss in Halloween), but also came after Angel with a crossbow when she thought he'd attacked her mother (it was Darla), so Chloe taking the Devil face reveal (Monster Reveals are iconic old horror imagery) poorly to the point of considering poisoning is par for the course. However, it only took Buffy seven episodes instead of three seasons to get the identity reveal via seeing the horrific second face (arguably also an accident on Angel's part).
They are metaphorically or literally Hell's angels. They also had long stays in Hell or a hell dimension.
Lucifer and Angel are also both Prodigal Sons with long-held grudges against their long-absent fathers (patricide in Liam/Angel(us)'s case) and they're later faced with a situation where they have unexpected, thought-impossible offspring who show up as adults (neither got to raise their miracle child) wanting revenge. Yup, major Connor/Rory parallel there.
Angel is also in a constant struggle with the Powers that Be manipulating his fate and free will (like Lucifer, he's a champion of free will no matter the cost) and making him prophecy's bitch.
Bones famously got jokes about how Booth is Angel getting his Shanshu (made human), since the character is given constant Angel-isms like references to a dark past having killed people (Booth is also named after a historical murderer, in addition to having been a sniper), both being Catholics full of Catholic guilt (note that the Buffyverse is most accurately polytheistic, though Angel does face off against a take on the antichrist--Angel has constant biblical imagery/themes and not just because of vampire iconography), kicking down doors (just not off their entire frames--LOL), turning on a dime and threatening people up against walls, constant wink-wink references to the Buffyverse (familiar casting, references to the Hyperion Hotel, etc...), etc...
The Lucifer finale used the words "Close your eyes." right before Lucifer is sent to Hell. This is literally the BtVS season 2 finale where Buffy kisses Angel and sends him to hell for a century with a stab to the gut (see the season 5 finale, not to mention Lucifer giving up his life for Chloe's à la I Will Remember You).
Note that D.B. Woodside was on BtVS (playing Robin Wood, whose Slayer mother Nikki Wood was killed by Spike). Aimee Garcia was in both episodes of AtS (Birthday--she's older than she looks!) and Bones. See her also playing a cross-wearing religious girl on Supernatural who was slaughtered in a police precinct by Lilith. Kevin Alejandro was also in an episode of Bones.
Tricia Helfer was in an episode of Supernatural playing a ghost who reenacts the night of her death every year. BtVS also had an episode along those lines, but with Buffy and Angelus possessed (not to mention Phantom Dennis!). Lucifer having Dan as a ghost is yet another thing they all have in common (ditto referencing Ghost, Patrick Swayze and/or Unchained Melody--Vincent Schiavelli a.k.a. Ghost's subway ghost was Jenny's uncle Enyos, whom Angelus killed).
Lucifer name-checked Castiel and Supernatural referenced Lucifer using their Lucifer (crime-fighting angel in L.A. made it a double-reference whammy). Supernatural returned the favor again by having Castiel forced to sing in Enochian. Lucifer's reference to his singing voice was already a zing about Misha Collins having to put on that monotone gravel voice and Enochian being far from melodious.
Russell T Davies was quite heavily inspired by the Buffyverse when he revived Doctor Who and spun off Torchwood, so there are absolute tons of Buffy, Angel and Spike respectively in Rose Tyler, the 9th/10th Doctors, Captain Jack Harkness and Captain John Hart (right down to the actor). School Reunion is the episode where the Buffyverse inspiration is most on the nose, complete with Anthony Stewart Head saying "shooty dog thing" in a school setting and a Mayor/Angel-esque speech about the curse of immortality. The Time War gave the Doctor a huge genocide-level guilt complex. Note that the creator of DC comics' version of Lucifer, Neil Gaiman, has also written for Doctor Who and is also the co-creator of Good Omens (the show is brimming with Doctor Who Easter eggs thanks to David Tennant). A barely-recognizable Tom Ellis played Martha Jones' ex-fiancé Tom Milligan during the Year that Never Was, as well.
A lot of shows take inspiration from the Buffyverse and you've probably seen some of them. It isn't just the copycat vampire romance stories either.
Angel's forerunners in turn were a mix of guilt-stricken, rat-eating Louis de Pointe du Lac (his Jekyll/Hyde-esque alter-ego Angelus is closer to the pre-retcon, fully-evil Lestat de Lioncourt, who got woobified into an antihero rocker not unlike Spike--the entire Fanged Four mirror Anne Rice's character lineup), sword-wielding, immortality trope-influencers Connor/Duncan MacLeod of Highlander fighting for the Prize of humanity (akin to Pinocchio becoming a "real boy"--see also Barnabas Collins of Dark Shadows, though he was before vampires became antihero superheroes, not just sympathetic antivillains) and Nick Knight of Forever Knight (vampire detective).
Additionally, Tom Welling was famously the longest-serving Clark Kent of them all (Smallville) on the old WB (there's that DC comics connection, too), so it's not just a Fox shows thing (though Fox, not just Warner Brothers, did indeed own the Buffyverse). One of the least-known things about Clark is that he also has an immortality problem where he wouldn't age parallel to Lois (they wouldn't be able to have kids either) without a workaround. The Kryptonite line directed at Cain/Pierce by Lucifer was quite on the nose! Lucifer and Smallville sort of crossed over even further in Crisis on Infinite Earths, so Tom is canonically the face of both Clark and Cain in parallel universes of the DC multiverse.
Supernatural had quite recently had their own takes on Cain (played by Timothy Omundson, who also played God Johnson) and the Mark of Cain when Lucifer did it. Dan's killer Le Mec was, of course, Rob Benedict, who was God a.k.a. Chuck Shurley, the ultimate villain of Supernatural. Richard Speight, Jr., who was archangel Gabriel/Loki the Trickster, directed a lot of Lucifer's later episodes in addition to being a prolific Supernatural director.
Supernatural and Lucifer use the exact same font for their titles (Supernatural Knight).
The X-Files (which Supernatural referenced constantly) and Supernatural also had stories about nephilim (see the apocryphal Book of Enoch). Lucifer ultimately had two nephilim (forbidden interspecies offspring of angels and humans), even if not saying so as a known concept. Connor can also be compared to the vampire equivalent of being something like a dhampir, though he's not quite that (mostly-but-not-quite-human offspring of two vampires instead of a human/vampire hybrid--see Blade for an actual dhampir). Supernatural has also covered the even rarer cambion species (human/demon hybrid).

Do you think the negative response to the IV guest demons is what precipitated Atlus taking full control over Doi/SMT demon design? Like, apparently the guest artists were given full creative control over their designs (a la Kaneko) and while it obvs didn't pan out I at least can appreciate the sentiment of the idea. It seems like Atlus corp may have seen the negative response to the IV demons, decided to not risk it anymore and take full control over Doi and SMT art direction from then on.
I'm not even sure most players even cared about the guest demons one way or the other. I mean, a certain group still really loves the """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""biblically-accurate""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Amemiya angels and I get a certain amount of satisfaction knowing that the art scans they froth over are mine--they come from a place of HATE and ACTUALLY READ THE BIBLE
But no, I don't think it had anything to do with what we see now, which was kind of an inevitability after Kaneko ghosted. Demons are images with which to market the games and Atlus is now marketing SMT to look more akin to their contemporaries. Even the guest artists were given keywords to work with by Atlus, even if they still had more creative freedom than Doi.
