A/N: This was requested over on our wattpad, another request will be out soon for YanSim! I’m just focusing on school at the moment since the workloads increased. I hope you enjoy!

TRANSLATION; KILLER
The night air was thick with tension as Y/N strolled through the dimly lit streets, shrouded in mystery. Another encounter awaited him at the Japanese task force building, where L resided. As he approached the building, a sense of both curiosity and agitation washed over him.
L was starting to suspect him which was getting on his nerves. But also. This was perfect. Y/n saw an opportunity in L’s unexpected liking towards him, realising the potential to turn the tide of the investigation to his advantage. With a calculated approach, these last few months he had been under L’s surveillance, he had strategically begun to build a stronger connection with him, gaining his trust through subtle cooperation and active involvement through the case. Y/n elected some sort of empathy from L, clouding his judgement and creating a shield around himself.
Inside, a labyrinth of monitors and scattered notes filled the room. L, a figure cloaked in the shadows, turned his piercing gaze towards you. “I have been observing you.” he said, voice laced with suspicion. “There are certain inconsistencies in your actions that raise my suspicions.” His intellect was unmatched, Y/N couldn’t help but be captivated by his presence.
But Y/N was not without his secrets. Throughout school, he was classified as a genius right through to his adulthood. He is highly perceptive, and manipulative. He wouldn’t be foolish enough to slip out a single word that would hint that he was Kira.
“May I ask, what certain inconsistencies are you speaking of?” He paused, thinking for a moment. “Ryuzaki?”
“Kira is located in the Kanto region of Japan, he is believed to be a college student based on the timings of the killings. It’s obvious also that he has access to the police database, shown through the timing adjustments and a behavioural analysis we conducted whilst you were under camera surveillance at home.”
Y/N’s chest tightened, keeping the innocent facade present as his hands rested in his pockets. “Interesting deductions, L. The investigation certainly seems thorough. But I must say, attributing all these traits to one person seems like a stretch. Let's not overlook the possibility of a more elaborate scheme at play here, shall we?”
L found himself back in a loophole, so utterly confused, yet he knew Y/N was Kira. What was stopping him from detaining him? He disregarded his feelings for him, the slight attraction that grew for Y/N each day was starting to get to him.
The dance of words and gestures became a delicate balance between exposing his true intentions and maintaining his innocence.
“Funny how Kira seems to have a knack for timing, isn’t it? Almost as if they have insider information..” Y/N spoke casually
As L’s piercing gaze lingered on Y/N, a playful smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, hidden behind his facade of innocence. He knew damn well that he had L’s attention, and he relished in the thrill of the game they played, each step drawing them together.
“Well Ryuzaki?” Y/N began, his tone teasing. “I must admit, once again your suspicions are certainly flattering. You tend to love a good mystery, especially when it's directly in front of you.”
L’s expression remained stoic, but a hint of amusement flickered in his eyes. “Flattery will get you nowhere, Y/N.” He retorted. “But I must admit, you do have a certain charm to you..”
Y/N couldn’t help but chuckle softly, arms crossed over his chest. “I’m well aware of my charms.” He replied. “But it seems you’re the one caught in my web of intrigue. Tell me, detective, are you enjoying the chase as much as I am?”
L’s lips quivered into a half-smile, a rare display of amusement. “You’re certainly full of surprises, Y/N.” He admitted.

In case you wanted a yandev update,
- apparently he got the victim to help him write his apology that was posted on the blog (never forget he's 35 and she's 16)
-over half the voice actors, youtubers who played/promoted yansim, modders, and his lead composer have left him, some volunteers are even asking for their work to be taken out the game
-he keeps losing patreon money despite the children in his discord servers taking mommy's credit card to fund a train wreck
-the original video has officially been put back up at the request of the victim
-his twitch and patreon are getting reported like crazy (I recommend everyone report them too)
-police reports have been filed
I hope this dude gets shivved in prison.

do you remember my yansim redesign serie with new concepts ?
it has been a while.
okay so recently i've been thinking about it, for no particular reason honestly it just came back in my head, and then i remembered how odd Toko (Info-san) is in this story and i ended up don't like it.
so i made some major update :
-First off, for context, the project genre will be thriller, psychological, horror in a slasher style.
-Making Inuko (yan-chan) part of the main cast but also the secret antagonist, AND Tao (senpai) the protagonist and main investigator. Itoe (tsundere-chan) is, obviously, the first victim but also the main reason why Mina (Itoe's bff) wants to investigate and kind of push everyone to do so. But what would really push everyone would be :
-Info-san aka "GOSSIP" or "Storyteller" (depends on the student taste of naming them). They are kind of the new entity in school when Itoe died. It gives few stories and rumors that somehow links to a certain murderer. But they are extremely vague for some reason. Because of that, few students are getting suspicious. And it is more amplified when :
-Hime (Princess-chan) is brutally killed in front of multiple students during a repetition, especially just in front of Tao. Everyone in school, starts to get really paranoid that the school needs to lockdown during a week while the police investigate.
-Talking about the police, let's now shift to a new character who wasn't introduced yet : Inuko's dad. He is part of the police, who investigate the case, and he wants some proper time with his daughter Inuko :D well not only her, but also Toko, the child of his new lover.
(okay so note : Inuko and Toko already met each other because of their dad before the events of the story, i just wanted to say that inuko's dad is a policeman and inuko and toko are related)
-Initially, i imagined Toko as this motherfucker who tries to mess with Inuko, failing, and being kind of her slave, knowing how to hack shits and stuff. But then i was like "no, that's just illogic for a student". So i decided now, it's still a pretty shitty person, but not because they aren't close to opinions, but because they don't understand complex subjects. (sexuality, transidentity, sustainable development, politics, etc.) They actually don't really want to understand, and want life to be simple. But when Inuko's came in their life, they try to be her older sibling but she didn't want to, seeing them as the reason why her family has fallen apart. everything changed for the worse. They are kind of her slave but by giving rumors/infos they know or finishing the "dirty work".
-SO, to save their life from this monster, leaving clues in the school's official social medias under an anonymous profile so that someone finds out who's the culprit. (Anonymous, because Inuko could find out it's Toko and kills them)
here are also some concepts i wanna add to the story :
-Tao becomes the main suspect (because everyone dies around him)
-Tao's and Chi's parents might meet Inuko's dad at some point with other parents, including Itoe's, Ryu's and Hime's. None of them works as a medicine expert.
-the school has many students leave to the point that in the end, the school close.
-there will be different endings despite the story doesn't really change.
-i think about adding more characters besides the adults. At least one boy (with others). But it will depend on who i really need.

I know being an obstacle is her purpose game design wise, but because of this, it feels like her whole character revolves around Osana. She only feels like her own character when she talks about the martial arts club. Otherwise, she’s just Osana bodyguard with no other character traits besides being a martial arts master.
If people can find personality in obscure Occult Club characters, we can find it in Raibaru.
- Her history with martial arts would imply a tomboyish personality, but she speaks politely and likes to wear lots of girly accessories.
- Perhaps her friendship with Osana allows her to show that girlier side of herself, which is why she values Osana so much as a friend; gives her advice, watches over her, cheers her on, wants to help her when she's suffering, etc.
- She kept up martial arts only because of her winning streak; for honor? In fear of disappointing her peers? Feel free to speculate!
- She doesn't like video games or Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki. Perhaps she shares Osana's opinion that things like that are childish? She is neutral about anime overall though.
- She is reportedly "brutal and scary." What if the fandom explored that side of her? Headcanon where Raibaru grows up to be a police officer anyone?
Even if we didn't know all of these things about her, I really wouldn't mind if she didn't have much of a personality. She's relevant for one week out of ten. She's not that important in the grand scheme of things. What can be gleaned from casually playing the game alone is good enough for me. If you disagree, thats cool.

Akademi Students with pets
Class 1-1
Efude Nurimono has two playful Exotic Shorthair cats. One orange and one white. Because of her obsession with anime, she named her cats “Miyuki” and “Yamiko” inspired by two of her favorite series: Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki and Life Note.
Kokuma Jutsu has an Atlas Moth that she caught in the forest near her house that she simply named “Atlas”. Despite being harmless, most of her friends are scared of it due to how big it is (Atlas Moths are the largest moths in the world)
Kokona Haruka has a grey Chartreux kitten she found at the back of Akademi and adopted it. She named it “Mittens” because of the kitten’s soft paws.
Shima Shiya has a black and white Japanese Bobtail and a Dalmatian named “Dice” and “Domino” because of there black and white spotted color schemes. The two animals always seem to be at odds with each other despite Shima trying multiple methods to have them get along.
Shiromi Torayoshi has a Sphynx Cat that she named “Dog” with the sole purpose of confusing people and weirding them out. Sometimes she puts him in the clubroom which always freaks out Kuroko, who isn’t a big fan of Sphynx cats in particular.
Class 1-2
Supana Churu has three black Burmese cats named “Onyx”, “Midnight”, and “Shadow” (how edgy). When she’s at home reading the books she retrieved from the Occult Club’s bookshelves, her cats like to curl up next to her and rub against her.
Tokuko Kitagawa has a white Bichon Frise named “Lily” that she got in an attempt to one up Kizana once again. Unlike Kizana, however, Tokuko genuinely loves her dog and takes great pride and care in her
Ajia Ashitomi has a Siberian Husky named “Buster”. Every time Ajia goes to the dog park, Buster always gets let loose and wreaks havoc on the other dogs much to Ajia’s horror. Thankfully none of the other dogs get injured
Meka Nikaru always wanted to own a Red Crowned Crane as a pet, but raising a crane incredibly difficult and even dangerous. Because of this, she built a robotic crane that behaves almost exactly like its living counterpart except it is not aggressive towards people.
Midori Gurin has a green pet parakeet named “Chirp”. This bird is a massive chatterbox, which for Midori its great, but for everyone else its incredibly annoying.
Yuna Hina has a Holland Lop rabbit named “Marshmallow”. Raising her pet is one of the few things she is able to do successfully on her own.
Class 2-1
Riku Soma has a grey British Shorthair named “Barnaby”. He gets along very well with Mittens, Kokona’s cat and even has a little top hat made for him.
Sakura Hagiwara has a German Shepard named “Stellaluna”. The reason she has her is because her parents gave it to her in the event that she needed a service animal in the future (her dog is a certified service animal).
Gaku Hikitsuri has a white Samoyed dog that’s very affectionate named “Monster” (how ironic). Gaku named him that to try and make him seem intimidating, but he still enjoys his affection. He really wants a cat, but because his mother is allergic to cats he can’t get one.
Ayano Aishi has a white and grey Ragamuffin that was given to her by Kokona. To keep with a theme of Kokona’s cat, she named him “Gloves”
Osana Najimi has an orange and white Snowshoe cat named “Marmalade”. Marmalade always gets out of the house and Osana usually spends a few hours looking for her.
Class 2-2
Oka Ruto has a grey Maine Coon she got from the animal shelter named “Thunder”. She was fascinated by how large the cat was compared to the other cats at the shelter and wanted to study it.
(Warning: Mention of Animal Neglect) Kizana Sunobu has a white Turkish Angora named “Rose”. She only got her in order for her to appear more opulent and wealthy, and doesn’t take care of her at all. Her parents have to to take care of her instead.
Amai Odayaka has a Russian Blue cat named “Sugar”. Sugar recently gave birth to 7 kittens, and this event caused a big debate in the Odayaka household on whether they should keep the kittens or not.
Hayanari Tsumeato has a Bulldog named “Vesuvius”. He is a very aggressive dog that is known to bite anyone and everyone. The only exception to this is Hayanari
Sakyu Basu and Inkyu Basu have a white Poodle named “Abella”. They like to dress her up in various outfits and accessories for fun. Inkyu once attempted to put lipstick on her, which resulted in Sakyu scolding her.
Class 3-1
Kenko Sukoyaka has a pet turtle named “Jupiter”. He usually feeds him vegetables that he grows in his garden
Borupen Saishiki has a pet Ball Python named “Diablo”. Sometimes he sneaks him in to school to terrorize other people. As a result of this, his bag had to be checked regularly for a month.
Sho Kunin has a Bloodhound named “Copper.” He hopes to train it to become a police dog for when he joins the police when he becomes an adult.
Akane Toriyasu has a pet Cardinal named “Scarlett”. Scarlett tends to sing cute little melodies in order to wake Akane up.
Kashiko Murasaki has a Chow Chow named “Butterscotch”. Sometimes Butterscotch jumps on her to wake her up or before she leaves, which sometimes ends up with her showing up to school covered in dog hair.
Class 3-2
Budo Masuta has a white Bull Terrier named “Rocky”. He often runs with Rocky in the morning in order for both of them to get some exercise
Uekiya Engeika has a pet Siamese Cat named “Poppy.” 85% of the time Poppy is covered in dirt because she tends to roll around in the dirt piles while Uekiya is gardening.
Kuroko Kamenaga has a pet Guinea Pig named “Cookie”. After being constantly pestered about getting a pet by Shiromi, she only wanted a small animal that would be low maintenance.
Musume Ronshaku has a tan pet French Bulldog named “Cashmere”. This is one of the things that Musume whined to her daddy for the most.
WOW this has to be the longest request I did. This was such an interesting and unique request and I hope I didn't dissapoint

my idea of a yansim fix
ok i finally got mood to write this down again after I lost the draft.
Basically, I think a Yandere Simulator would work better as a schedule-managing otome game. You know, one of those dating sims where you manage the schedule of a girl to raise stats and woo the boys? That, except the protagonist girl is a yandere.
I have this idea for a plot: instead of the girl being fixated in a ‘senpai’ and she have to eliminate ‘rivals’, she is really obsessed with her childhood friend who once saved her from her abusive household. Let’s just say this girl was in showbiz business as a kid and is forced by her household to be one (I swear this is relevant to the latter plot)
Even when she grew up, she’s still obsessed with him and he’s our main hero who is a cute boy and still befriends her and he’s being a dense boy that he didn’t notice her feelings--- but as this is an otome game, there’s other romance options. Let’s just say it’s a student council president with glasses and a sporty kind of boy, 2 typical boys you’d see in otome game.
Depending on the choices the player made, the yandere can be lesser of a yandere by going for those other two heroes and build a more healthy relationship, and might be lesser of a disturbed yandere who murders girls in those routes.
Wait, then what’s the point of Yandere game if she doesn’t become a yandere? Well, after this is where things got interesting. Let’s say, we got to each heroes’ route.
It will be later revealed that the yandere had already murdered people, but she covered all her murders with memories and delusions of her love and the player isn’t shown this until a particular scene but is hinted throughout the games. As her love grew fruition (either to the childhood friend or the other 2 heroes), she realizes that ‘she doesn’t want to lie to herself anymore since she had found true love’ and revealing this truth to the player as they were shown she were already murdering someone.
It’s then revealed she’s a serial killer that mostly target bigshots in entertainment industry that the town has been talking about in early game, but is treated as a passing by news as the focus is more to a school life, isn’t it?
But anyway. Her ‘targets’ were all people who done harm and trauma to her in the past before her childhood friend had saved her, and by the time player had been shown she is a serial killer, she was near the end of her hitlist and she decided she had to finish her hitlist before moving on for her love without getting caught
Depending on the route player took, the obstacle she had to deal with differs, and that includes the difficulties.
The childhood friend route has the hardest time management as player have to deal with both her hitlist AND her rivals in love, as her mentality is the worse in this route thus she murders some girls that got near her love. Two murders in a time frame. Also, the one who suspects her are her best friend who initially supported her love (think of a supporting role in dating sim that shows you affection meter etc), but noticed something strange was going on with her friend. She will often ask her to hang out to get ease out of her suspicions and player have to schedule well on hanging out with her aside from keeping being lovey dovey with the childhood friend to gain her sanity back, or she will get a proof and report it to the police and yandere’s childhood friend/boyfriend will knew she’s a murderer.
The student council president with glasses is the second toughest route. His father is a detective who is investigating the serial killings and had found the connection between protagonists’ past as an abused child star and the victims. And these suspicions will probably pass by to his son aka the yandere’s boyfriend in this route, too. The key of this route is not to get caught, but the sanity status is easier as he’s not exactly related to her past and they have a healthier relationship. There’s still a possible bad? ending where yandere murders the detective father and kept the son captive if the sanity were low enough when she got caught, though.
The sporty boy? He’s actually the son of one of her victims. He suspects her, but he hates his late father anyway. His route might be a slightly easier one and focuses on raising his affections to get the true end that even if the yandere got caught the sporty boy understood her circumstances and protects her--- though not getting caught is a different kind of happy ending, too.
Thus, the scheduling dating sim goes intense in latter half of the game as she has to make sure she won’t get caught while managing her sanity and affection to her boyfriend.

ok weird rant but people seem to be confusing “yandere” with just plain “murderer”?? like yeah yanderes can be murderers (the best ones are ;3) but like;;;;; so many yandere blogs i see have posts that are just like “i kill 4 fun” and general sadism and like thats COOL and all i can dig it but without the obsessive lover component its kinda not yandere, ya kno?

Does YanSim already have gameplay mechanic where if a character has a picture of you doing something bad (i.e. stabbing someone), you have to break their phone aside from killing the witness or else the police will find incriminating evidence of you? Or did I dream that?

So like, off the record, but I LOVE how chill this fandom is.
I mean, obviously, there’s some discourse. There’s always going to be discourse in any fandom. But compared to the other fandoms I’ve been in, DMC’s is...relatively tame? And it’s really refreshing to me.
Like, let me just give you a brief synopsis of the kinda shit I’ve put up with in other fandoms right quick:
In the Korra fandom (back when it was still airing on Nickelodeon), there was a massive hiatus between seasons 1 and 2, and some of the fans literally went rabid about it. They harassed the Nickelodeon Twitter account for “delaying season 2” (even though they’re literally just PR and have nothing to do with it???), and in-fandom drama was rampant. Season 3 was even worse in that regard, when Korra abruptly switched to digital releases, and it basically became a sin to support Nickelodeon and its staff in any way, shape, or form. Shipping wars were the worst part of this fandom, and once Korrasami became canon, certain people believed that anyone who preferred Korra with other ships (for personality/compatibility/literally not homophobic reasons) suddenly became homophobic bigots who deserved to be shamed and harrassed.
The Yansim fandom is probably the worst example. The people who genuinely enjoy the game are the sweetest people I’ve ever met. But there’s also an entire group of people who hate the game and its developer and constantly start shit??? For no reason??? They’ve made baseless accusations about the developer, stalked him, doxxed him, harassed him, threatened him, CALLED THE SWAT TEAM TO HIS LITERAL FUCKING HOUSE, et cetera. It got so bad that in November of last year, the developer literally posted a video explaining how this insane level of hate and harassment has affected his mental health. AND IT GOT EVEN WORSE. The “gremlins”, as they became known, took over the official subreddit and turned it into a hate thread, and at its worst were posting some of the nastiest stuff about him, including anti-semetic jokes and racist caricatures (he is Jewish and/or of Jewish descent), suicide jokes, and death threats. It’s gotten better in the last year or so, but yeah, that was a literal fucking nightmare.
But DMC has nothing like that, and it’s honestly amazing. There’s literally just one (1) person who regularly starts shit, and everyone has collectively called them out and stopped them in their tracks and I CAN’T THANK Y’ALL ENOUGH FOR STANDING TOGETHER I’M SO PROUD. There’s incest shipping, but those who write it are super-conscious of tagging and making sure everyone is properly informed/warned in case they don’t like that kinda thing (again, SHUTTING DOWN THAT DISCOURSE which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Y’ALL FOR). And everyone is super chill and open and friendly, no one’s trying to be the moral police or start shipping wars or anything stupid like that, and it’s just SO FUCKING WONDERFUL. I CAN FINALLY BREEEATHE
Tl;dr After being surrounded by fandom discourse for literally the last 5 years of my internet life, with each instance being worse than the last, this is like a breath of fresh air. Y’all are a blessing, you really are. I love this fandom so fucking much.

Weird stuff in yansim that makes no sense
Why the hell would a school nurse have a tranquilizer?
There’s a an occult club. Need I say more?
The martial arts club. It’d be all fine and dandy if they used punching bags but no. They actually hit each other. In the Martial arts club mini-game you can legit punch and kick your opponent. Why does the school allow this?
When students chat they’re like, almost five feet apart.
Yandere dev claims he wants to make the game realistic but in most Japanese schools dyed hair and certain hairstyles are against the dress code. All the students in yansim have different colored hair and wacky ass hairstyles.
Yandev has the light music club members practice instruments in the hallways to “not disturb anyone.” They can just go to their club room. Yandev says they act as “living security cameras.” Hey, Alex…how about you put actual fucking cameras…
Whenever a student falls in love with someone they proceed…to stalk them? I thought that was Ayano’s thing…
How in the hell are the delinquents around? I don’t care if the guidance counselor is trying to redeem them. They beat Ayano up! They’re harming another student! How have they not received any complaints?
Despite Ayano leading Kokona to kill Musume the police somehow can’t link her to the crime scene.

Apparently the police system in the game is inconsistent with the Japans real police system. If someone is suspected of a crime, the police do not let them out of custody until they are ABSOLUTELY sure that they are not related to the crime. Yansim is basically just, “although someone saw you drag a body, you don’t look crazy, don’t have a weapon, nor are you covered in blood so you’re free to go :/“
I could be able to suspend my disbelief if it weren't for the fact that Alex is constantly trying to add logic and real-world mirrors to the game and continuously labels it as dark and realistic.-Syd

My Opinion on;
Character in general: Where do I even begin? Ayano is a treasure through and through, Rachel does a fantastic job of portraying her as something deeper, something more than just a mindless killing machine obsessed with Senpai. I can’t possibly do her character justice in a little description like this, so I highly suggest y’all hustle over to her blog and read up on her. How they play them: See above response. Rachel does a stellar job portraying Ayano as a complex and nuanced character, struggling to overcome her family’s curse. Speaking of that, she goes into the reasons behind why Ayano is the way she is and honestly, I’m all about it. I’m so glad she’s the one I get to roleplay my OTP with - the way Ayano interacts with Oka is absolutely precious and adorable, and it makes my day whenever I see a response to one of our threads because they’re always so sweet!!The Mun: Rachel is an absolute joy to talk to. She’s the kinda person that I can just pitch headcanons to whenever they cross my mind and gush over pairings and stuff, it’s great. okay yes i've learned my lesson and tag policing is bad but COME ON. it is STILL SO ANNOYING to get so many posts that are like "btw I don't support yansim or yanderedev" or "tw: yandere simulator" LIKE EXCUSE ME???? maybe just go do something else if you feel so strongly about it that you feel the need to put in a disclaimer or a TRIGGER WARNING? FOR YANDERE SIMULATOR?? ARE YOU SERIOUS??? go force some other fandom that you actually like to look at your art jfc. I don't care if you like the characters, guess who came up with them? They didn't just spawn out of nowhere! Someone with decent enough writing and worldbuilding skills did the research and designed these characters you claim to love so much and that person is literally no one other than YANDEREDEV.
Why is it just this fandom? You know who is a much worse person than YandereDev? Freaking David Cage. He literally disobeyed Elliot Page's requests NOT to have his naked body textured and put into Beyond: Two Souls and Cage did it anyway. And that's ignoring anything that could be said about Detroit: Become Human. But I have NEVER seen a post about D:BH that included some "btw I don't support David Cage I just love Connor so much" disclaimer. Which would actually be more valid! Connor is such a great character because of Dechart's adlibbing, NOT because of Cage's writing. This ONLY happens with Yandere Simulator, who only has ONE person behind character creation, and it is NOT. FAIR.
