In three games she’s 9/39 fg %. But you are right, the Lynx have favored similar players in the past. Aerial just doesn’t have the same supporting cast as Maya and Seimone right now
Ooh that's not great lol.
Were any of the players they waived better shooters than Powers though?
And Angel doesn't count. She left because she doesn't want to use up her last year of basketball on a bad team.
With Syl, Phee, and Angel, that could've been something. But just Syl and Angel, there's no chance at a finals run. Angel just wants one last finals run and it's not happening this year in Minnesota. She won't spend the last of her health on a hopeless cause.
Also I see a lot of people worried or sad for Syl. But Reeve wouldn't make these big moves unless Syl agreed with them. Both Syl and Reeve know a championship is impossible. Maybe Syl wants to help Reeve build the structure for the new Lynx. It's like a long training camp, like the Mystics in 2020. Trying multiple players, seeing who responds to Reeve and Syl's mentorship, and waiving the ones who don't.
Seeing them sign Evina Westbrook is interesting.
