Random DD: Born Again thoughts:
Fisk runs for mayor, is doing well enough in the polls. Nelson, Murdock and Page come at him all lawyer like with facts, expose him again to the public.
Fisk counterattacks, reveals Matt’s identity.
Matt needs to hide and some seemingly random guy comes and helps him, covers for him. At the news agency he works in, he debunks the stories.
“Why are you helping me?” Matt asks.
“Because you once did the same for me,” the guy replies.
This guy is Peter Parker.

Had a discussion with some friends a while back about the ol’ “replace everyone but one actor with muppets” idea.
So someone suggests Full Metal Jacket, keeping R Lee Ermy (the drill sergeant). And I said no no no.
Keep Vincent D’onofrio.
For those of you who haven’t seen it, spoilers for a 36 year old movie!
Full Metal Jacket is essentially two related short films sharing a few characters, glued together in the middle. The first half of the movie follows US Marine draftees as they go through basic training. The second half follows a couple of those guys as they take sniper fire in Vietnam.
Vincent D’onofrio only appears in the first half. His character, “Private Gomer Pyle” (a derisive nickname applied by the drill sergeant) is the subject of tons of abuse at the hands of said drill sergeant, and, eventually, his fellow draftees.
And at the end of the segment, he has a nervous breakdown, takes a rifle into the bathroom, and when confronted by the drill sergeant, blows him away, then kills himself.
So replacing D’onfrio has 3 main effects here.
1. You get to see private Pyle subject to increasingly brutal psychological and physical abuse, by muppets.
2. You get to see Private Pyle go nuts and kill, in a fit of insanity, a muppet.
3. The entire back half of the film, which is less remembered in pop culture but still a fucking brutal and harrowing story in its own right, is re-enacted entirely by muppets.
Honestly, I don’t think anything in cinema could top that. I think it would make Citizen Kane look like The Room. I need this. I deserve it.

Daredevil was such a brilliant show, because one minute you'll have Matt, Karen and Foggy all goofing about and joking; and then it'll hard cut to a guy getting his head brutally smashed in by some henchman of Fisk's.

Went to a con. Went to a panel.
“Just gonna eat my feelings”
Amazing hearing them talk about Daredevil, their other roles and filming certain scenes with certain characters on a certain show

I watched Adventures in Babysitting for the first time in forever last night, and all I can say is I have no clue how I’m going to make it work, but I will make this scene into a Harringrove drabble with Billy as Dawson.

Matt Murdock to Wilson Fisk (Netflix’ Daredevil, season 3: “You will go back to prison, and you will live the rest of your miserable life in a cage, knowing you’ll never have Vanessa, that this city rejected you”
Wilson Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+): has been free for years, probably is the new mayor of NYC (so endorsed by the city that was supposed to reject him)
Poor Matt. All these efforts for nothing :(

As portrayed in heated, idiosyncratic fashion by the wonderful Vincent D’Onofrio, the Kingpin has been around the MCU for almost a decade, and a lot of that is due to D’Onofrio’s effortless ability to apply his talents and the character’s own attributes to whatever best fits a certain series.
Wilson Fisk might be D’Onofrio’s magnum opus when it comes to his mastery of a kind of unhinged, striking physicality.

Lift - Movie Review
TL;DR – It may not be original, but it needs to be said that Lift failed to launch.
⭐⭐⭐
Rating: 2.5 out of 5.
Post-Credit Scene – There is no post-credit scene.Disclosure – I paid for the Netflix service that viewed this film.
Lift Review –
Historically, I have tended to have a better time with the sort of films that Netflix has been championing as of late because even if they are not high…
