Original Resident Evil 2 concept art of Leon having a bad time.
While the Resident Evil 2 Survival Guide is full of absolute nonsense, it also contains some cool behind the scenes stuff, including some concept art.
I will try to post more of the art at a later date, but for now, please enjoy our boy having the worst first day ever.
Pretty sure this last one isn't Leon, but it was funny so here it is.
"Help."

(sorry for the weird angles) Was going through some old stuff in the garage and found some of the Jak and Daxter concept art! Not sure which game this was for. Definitely one of them.

Astronomy Inspired Design in Media: Part 22
Lies of P (2023)
In the hub area of Lies of P, Hotel Krat’s magnificent centerpiece—aptly named the Stargazer—glows
Largely unchanged from how it appears in the concept art for the game
Armillary spheres are the most common form of astronomy inspired design and the Stargazer looks like a carbon copy of brass armillary spheres seen during the time period of Lies of P (1800’s) and earlier
Brass German Armillary Sphere from the 1500’s
Which makes sense, since even as a working instrument they can appear as an enigmatic work of art
Armillary spheres work by rotating the outer rings to represent the position of different celestial objects (stars and moons and planets) in the night sky for a given time of the year
The only piece to note about the Stargazer however is that unlike armillary spheres, the Stargazer does not appear to be able to rotate
“Astronomy Inspired Design in Media” is Wednesday (as I find them)

Haii, super random ask about The Pale Beyond i hope thats ok . Have you/the team ever considered putting out the character sprites? in like png format or smethign alike. I just thimk it would be a cool thing to just have out there, not only cus good references for the chars but also cus the art is super cool!!! Either way, loved the game :] great work! it was lovely !!
Hi there, thank you so much for your kind words!
I don’t think we’d release the PNGs of the full sprites as they are in-game, and I don’t really get to make that decision unfortunately. However! There is a lot of art for the characters available online if you’re looking for references.
There is a digital AND physical artbook that you can buy that showcases a bunch of the sprites, alongside other concept art. The physical edition is more expensive because we printed it for real life, and it has a little more artwork in it than the digital one since we had some time to polish and add things we’d forgotten after release. Here are the links if you’re interested:
Digital Edition
Physical Edition
If you don’t have money to drop on books, you can also find a pile of art in my portfolio! There are a tonne of concepts, storyboards and art breakdowns in there, as well as the final character references we used for the game. I even uploaded style guides and drawovers, including what brushes we used for character lineart!
Fair warning though, if you scroll far enough you enter a SPOILER ZONE, so only check it out if you’ve already finished the game or don’t mind finding out what could happen at the end before you’ve played it lol. Link:

I know this isn’t exactly what you asked for, but I hope it’s helpful regardless! Thanks so much again for liking the game, we’re a small team and it means a lot to us!

I always love designing guns that follow the 'Rule of Cool' more than reality, which is why this little black hole powered grenade launcher is one of my favs. I nicknamed it Logic Breaker cause, well it makes no sense but it sure is cool! The most difficult part was figuring out how the actual grenades would look once fired. I decided that a tethering effect would work best, where the enemy is stuck in place for a short while with parts of them going into the black hole.
This was so much fun to make
