So, for me this was a great one to revisit for a first review on this blog because it was actually one of the first WIPs I played on Itch.io and boy did it set the standard. It’s also one I’ve revisited a few times and is deefinitely on my list of most anticipated WIPs.
As I understand it, you are born into a kind of mount olympus-esque realm and play as the deity of eternity which, in a rather cruel twist of fate, makes you essentially powerless as of course, nothing lasts forever. This is a rather nice spin on the typical gods/mythology IF MC and also gives us the opportunity to play a super angsty MC (which I love). Also a big fan of the in depth character customisation you can do.
There are also a handful of (gender selectable) ROs which so far have great potential and can have some really interesting interactions with MC BUT unfortunately the demo is still pretty short so romance with the RO’s is still quite limited. I have to say though, that the lack of romance (so far) hasn’t really bothered me as I am in love with MC’s parents and they way they act towards them is just so wholesome and such a refreshing departure from the usual tragic home life trope and also provides a really nice respite from the (at times cruel) way MC’s world treats them because of their situation.
Another thing I’d like to add, is that in general, it’s just a really beautiful game, which I know seems odd to write about a text based game but I think that the attention to detail in the UI along with the high quality writing really makes for an immersive experience and that in and of itself makes the game worth checking out.

It has come to my attention that some people were panicking about if rejecting bread or fruit during the Ceremony would make characters dislike them... 😭😭
I promise there aren't any arbitrary friendship points in Prologue or Chapter 1. The most I track (and plan to) are attitudes you exhibit towards the characters, your actions, and attitudes about things in general that you choose to express to them. Unless you say something extremely disagreeable or opposed to their morals, they won't think more or less of you.
Even if you disagree with them and are on exactly opposite sides of beliefs, it's still very possible to be on good terms with them! For example, hating mortals completely and discussing as much with Salvatore, who very much is in favor of them.
Feel free to be cold or mean to characters if that's fit for your MC. Unless you're being genuinely cruel, most characters are also pretty forgiving with that, especially if they know it simply to be your nature.
TL;DR bread won't make them hate you!! 😭🥖💕

If they don’t make a remake of RE5 after showing us the new Wesker I’m personally going to Capcom’s headquarters and cry

It's actually good to see these two disagree
I think it's interesting when it comes to Chris and his negative behavior in RE6 people are more understanding towards him. Especially about the trauma and difficult situations he has gone through, even referring to it as "character growth", which I agree with wholeheartedly. However, when it comes to Jill people expect her to not develop. Some say she should be pleasant and nice in reference to what they think the "old Jill" was despite the trauma she faced for three years of her body and mind being used and abused under Wesker's control in RE5. There were people actually expecting her to be the same person she was before in the Death Island movie. I don't understand that at all. She literally had to be in rehab and under observation for 6 YEARS because of what she went through in Africa, meaning that she really needed a lot of treatment, both physical and mental, after all of that. But I guess people expected her to be completely fine after that? Not sure why there's a double standard between Chris' character development and Jill's. Maybe it's because with Chris you see his problems unravel in the games while we don't clearly see Jill's true reaction to her trauma after she returns from Africa. We also don't get to see what she even went through when her body was used to make antibodies for the Uroboros project to the process of being mind-controlled. We only know the details of what she went through in notes and special files from RE5 and only a few details from her observation/rehab period from an email she wrote to Barry that can be found in Revelations 2. But I doubt that many people took the time to read these things while playing these games. I'm also willing to believe that rather than thinking Jill's personality changed, she is just showing a new determined side of her that stems from her deep regret about everything that happened to her.
People said that she was rude to Chris in the Death Island movie but to me, it just looked like two people who have known each other for so long, who deeply care for one another and have gone through their own troubles just having a disagreement. This shouldn't be a shock seeing that close friends, lovers, partners, etc do have arguments. It's actually a good thing to have arguments once in a while because it shows that the two people in that relationship are very close. Also, wouldn't you be pissed if you came back to work after being gone for 6 years and being told you need to sit this one out and think about things? Jill has been sitting around for 6 years "thinking about things" in rehab so why do you want her to wait around again? Don't get me wrong, Chris' concern for Jill was very valid but the way he went about it caused some misunderstanding between the two. But it's okay because even people who are very close to each other disagree sometimes.

Drunken theory about EYES
Let's get away from game conventions and the fact that Capcom could have trivially forgotten or left something out. I wrote this theory under temperature, so there is a certain level of absurdity present, especially since I dreamed it and that was the reason for writing it. I warned you!
Until there is an official explanation, this article is up to date.
What is this theory about? It's about both Wesker's eyes and PG67A/W. It's about why his eyes change color and what it depends on.
So, let's talk about PG67A/W first. It is not officially known when exactly this serum was created, but I believe it is definitely after 2003. That's when Wesker merged with Tricell, because the syringe has their brand label on it. He needs PG67A/W to «stabilize the force». But what is this «stabilization» really? We don't really know what happens to Wesker without the serum. The game says that he loses strength without it and so he needs the serum to stabilize his body, but I have a different opinion, which I'll tell you in a moment.
Between 1998 and 2003, Wesker is unable to use PG67A/W because it has not yet been invented. However, the powers he gained from the virus have not left him during these 5 years, he is far beyond a normal human. While fighting Sergei and his Ivans in 2003 (Umbrella Chronicles) he displayed his standard set of abilities. The only thing he lacked was speed, the same speed in re5.
We conclude that he only needs PG67A/W to have speed. It was speed and reaction that he «lost» when Chris and Sheva injected him with an overdose of PG67A/W in re5. However, the strength remained the same, thanks to it, he punched the rocket with Uroboros with his arm.
In fact, if you give him an extra dose of PG67A/W, he doesn't lose any of his abilities, including his speed. Wesker's body is only overloaded, which causes a severe headache as his body tries to cope with the strain. His powers then increase even more, causing them to become difficult to control. When Chris injected him with an extra dose again, his strength became not just difficult, but impossible to control, and he gave up speed altogether, because it was trivially useless.

Now that we've dealt with how the serum works, let's talk about the abnormality of his eyes. Wesker's eye color is closely related to his ability status. I'll go into detail in a moment.
To make it easier to understand what I'm talking about, we need to trace the entire history of the change. In the fandom, it is commonly believed that his eyes were originally blue, and after the virus injection, they became permanently red-orange. But what if I told you that they change color all the time?
Re1 it's simple - blue. This is the very beginning of the story, so this color is taken as the standard color.
Then the Umbrella Chronicles plot happens, where his eyes changed color for the first time (in the timeline of the story).
The red glow is something similar to re5, however it momentarily goes out, returning his eyes to a blue color, but why? It's really unclear why they're still blue here if the game was released in 2007, long after Code Veronica (2000), in which his eyes were redesigned long ago.
Is the old color persisting not because of Capcoms inattention, but because of canonical processes in his body? The eyes can't instantly change their appearance and need time to fully mutate? We'll come back to that.
Ibid, in Umbrella Chronicles, his eyes are no longer blue in the official material.
Wesker then appears in Code Veronica and there his eyes have the familiar orange look for the first time (according to the games release chronology), like on official Umbrella Chronicles materials.
Given that the events here take place in 1998, like re1, one can really assume that Wesker needed some time to mutate fully.
In 2002, Wesker appears in Operation Javier (Darkside Chronicles, 2009), his eyes blue again.
In 2003, one of the storylines of Umbrella Chronicles and Prelude to the Fall, his eyes came back to design from Code Veronica.
In 2005, when re4 released his eyes are blue again. I could say that this was allowed by accident, when Wesker's model, from the re1 remake, Capcom simply forgot to change the eye color. But that theory is ruined by one small fact... the remake.
In the re4 remake, his eyes aren't orange either (actually they are orange, but human).
They're not blue, of course, but different from Code Veronica, suggesting that his eyes probably do lose their inhuman appearance over time, slowly turning into normal eyes. In Code Veronica, they're orange because Wesker is at the peak of his powers, but over time he weakens, his eyes change, and he needs PG67A/W to get things back to the way they were, only with bonuses like reaction and speed.
And by the way, in the concepts for re5 there's a shot where Wesker's eyes regain their blue color. If even at the stage of game development Capcom thought about this feature, when the developers already had several games where his eye color varied, then it can be considered a canonical feature. We take into account not only this concept, which was not included in the game, but also the eye from the remake of re4, which does not look like Code Veronica or re5 at all.
In standard form, after taking PG67A/W and\or at the peak of his powers, Wesker's eyes look like this. Essentially identical to Code Veronica, it just looks better due to the graphics.
My conclusion: the color of his eyes directly shows the state of strength. Weakened body - first the pupil changes, becoming round again, and then the color already changes, gradually «dimming» in approaching the original (blue) color. After taking the serum - red or orange color with a narrow pupil.
The blue color could mean complete weakness, but judging by re4r, he doesn't drive himself to that extreme state, so it's unlikely Capcom will ever show such a thing again. The only time his mutated eyes have been blue canonically is Umbrella Chronicles, but there it's due (presumably) to the mutation not being completed yet, and also in Darkside Chronicles.
Yes, I actually had a dream that I was writing this theory, but I had to do some brainstorming to turn it into something readable, as well as gather material. Don't take it too seriously.

i have so many silly little hcs about wesker and uroboros, but there's this one i really wanna share, if you will lend me your loving ears for a moment...
i view uroboros as less of its own sentient thing and more of every tendril being full of nerves, it's how wesker would be able to control them, move them around as he wills, right?
i think each uroboros tendril has a thin layer of skin, muscle, and goop (he's so sludgy in dbd <3), and because there's only that thin layer covering all those nerves, the tendrils would be extremely sensitive. i wonder if you see what i'm getting at here already... let me cook...
imagine wesker examining his tendrils around you, like his idle in dbd, and you get curious, wondering how they feel. you reach over and lightly run your fingers over one of the tendrils, not really paying attention to how wesker reacts. the tendrils would honestly probably feel moist (like a fucking frog or something similar judging by how they look in games), and understandably so, you wipe your fingers clean of the feeling, but not without catching the look on your beloved blonde's face. he's barely suppressing his surprise, and there's a blush on his face.
wesker doesn't retract his tendrils, no no no, not after his precious darling just touched the most sacred part of him. he'd look at you with slightly widened eyes as you touch his tendrils again, and you watch as a visible shiver runs up his spine. his blush gets deeper and his hand starts shaking. you've unlocked something in him, something he never knew was possible, just by touching his tendrils. he likes the feeling, and the poor man shifts slightly in his seat as a poor attempt to hide the growing tent in his pants. you use that big brain of yours to connect the dots, and realize that this massive menace to society gets a hard on just by feeling his pretty partner run their fingers along his tendrils <3

and yes. yes yes yes yes. they're sensitive to gentle touches (while being extremely durable to harsh impact, as seen in games) and you just know you have to make use of it, gently stroking his tentacles while he squirms but doesnt retract them:((
