#Until the very second Viserys dies

Text
I got sucked into the Aegon and Rhaenrya marriage scheme, and it's opened an entire different cans of worms this time
People say Aegon and Rhaenrya's marriage would solve the Dance of the Dragons but they'd be wrong and ignoring the obvious which is who between them would be settling for the consort title and who'd Viserys even set aside Rhaenrya as heir for Aegon(which he didn't do even in canon) if he allowed the marriage or who'd he make Aegon the consort or who'd he ignore the heir issue and let his silence imply everything for everyone to misinterpret. I mean to the Green team(Otto at front and center) it'd obviously be Rhaenrya but by the time Aegon comes of age, Rhaenrya would be firstly older and hopefully had secured a powerful political cemented over those long years which would make it more difficult for them to dispute her as heir or even if they do, they won't be able to take Kingslanding from her(unlike in canon but I feel that Alicent and Otto being able to secure the marriage from when she was younger who'd cause her to feel an even more oppresive pressure as the Green would gloat/be smug about their victory for the throne all through her younger years until she makes herself a problem for them)
The overarching problem would be what about Daemon?
I feel like Daemon and the Velaryons would then form another faction against them though cause that'd be like 3 dragons from Daemon, Baela(assuming the war starts before or once Rhaenrya finally marries Aegon and is pregnant so there's absolutely no chance for Daemon anymore, anyway by the time that happens the girls and their dragons should be all grown up) & Rhaena(assuming since her egg doesn't hatch, she could go claim a dragon from Dragonstone). Plus 2 dragons from Rhaenys and Laenor. And assuming Laena dies & Vhagar is lost as well, Daemon could then remarry and have other children who could claim Vhagar so that'd be 4-6 dragons against Team Green & Team Black(4-5 dragons from Green depending if Aemond gets Vhagar or another dragon plus Rhaenrya).
I feel like Daemon would try to start a war before Aegon and Rhaenrya had children so the count of the dragons would be more on his side and Team Black & Green wouldn't be able to use any children's marriages to lure people their way
And while the Green children could still marry any of Laena or Laenor's children or even Laena/Laenor if they don't marry, I don't think Corlys spite would allow that when Daemon is right there connected with Laena already with greatest closest chance than anyone else at that moment(5-6 vs 4-5 dragons fight) for the title of king if he won
The Targaryens especially in the Dance of the Dragons feel like a neverending circle of two snakes devouring each other, the earlier generations to the next generations, from parents to their childrens. The parents raising their children the only way they know how to until the children finally grow up and devour their parents because that's the only way they've ever known how to live
#Season 2 being replaced with another montage of “What are we gonna do about Daemon?”#anti targaryen#anti viserys i targaryen#Forever gonna be screwing everyone every which way#Wait#We can also blame this on Jaehaerys#anti jaehaerys i targaryen#The ultimate villain of Dance of the Dragons#Wasn't enough he got nearly all his kids dead#He gotta get his grandkids and greatgrandkids or whatever their incest wreath says they are beyond the grave too#Honestly#What are we gonna do about Daemon montages as Hod seasons would have slapped so much#it'd be hilarious#so much potential#A dark comedy series where Daemon does whatever the hell he wants since he's the King's brother#Being his special evil self all through Westeros#“Special” in derogatory#And whenever anyone's else viewpoint is shown#They're like going he's rebelling#He's in a tavern pretending he's drinking but really it's the place where his forces are meeting up#He's in Essos to get support and money for his war#Constant conspiracy theories abound#And it cuts to Daemon In Essos#Face down in the muddy ground sobbing pathetically because his older brother banished his clingy ass again#Refused even the closest being to Viserys in the world#Just wandering around no great plan giving everyone within reach as much misery as he's feeling#Until the very second Viserys dies#They'll all realize he's been on a leash#And everyone's just trying to get the fuck out of the grief stricken madman's way#Who's planning on taking everyone out with him in his grief

“Rhaenyra and Alicent are the same. They are both greedy, selfish women who fight for the throne.”
No, they’re not. They are not the same.
Rhaenyra Targaryen was a very happy child (up until her mother died, at least).
All she ever wanted was to live her princess life, marry the love of her life and ride her dragon, Syrax.
Rhaenyra never cared about the Iron Throne. She was more than okay with her mother giving her a little brother who would shoulder the responsibility.
But everything changed when Viserys chose her as his heir. That meant the world to Rhaenyra. Imagine being the first princess in history chosen by your father to succeed him. That has never happened before. It gave her a sense of worth, of purpose, which she adored.
And then for the first time in history, the lords of the Realm presented themselves in front of a princess and swore to uphold her claim.
In that moment, it was as if Rhaenyra herself had sworn an oath to the Realm, to be their future Queen. She took on the responsibility, and sat beside her father at Court, learning everything about politicking. She then moved to Dragonstone when she was sixteen and learned to govern.
Rhaenyra was willing to give up on her dreams so she could make her father proud, so she could take on the responsibility and lead her House. And that’s just what she did. She spent years preparing to rule. She had to endure a marriage to someone like Laenor Velaryon (the ultimate challenge: have children with a man of a different sexual preference, and who is also unwilling to bed you, at a time when the whole Realm expects you to produce heirs).
And then…to have all that she was promised taken away from her.
I would rage.
To have sacrificed all these years of my life, to have endured childbirth for the sake of the Realm despite knowing that my own mother died in childbirth, to have to deal with greedy and backstabbing people all on my own…all that for nothing.
Rhaenyra didn’t covet the throne. She never wanted it, but it was promised to her. And for all she had sacrificed, she would be damned if she let her abusive stepmother and her worthless, lazy spawns take away what she worked hard for.
Alicent Hightower, on the other hand, was an upstart from the beginning. Being the daughter of a second son who had no fortune of his own, she couldn’t have expected to have too many prospects. She therefore slithered her way in Court life with the help of her father, became a lady in waiting and bid her time until the moment came to seduce the King and take the crown. She became the most powerful woman in the Seven Kingdoms, the Queen. She was given privileges which she abused, her children were well taken care of and lacked for nothing (and they rarely appreciated it).
But this was not enough for Alicent (or Otto). She wanted more. She was greedy. She wouldn’t settle for anything less than having her own blood on the throne, and she committed high treason to make that happen. A decision which destroyed her family.
So, no, the stories of these two women are not the same.
Rhaenyra fought for the oaths which had been sworn to her, for her father’s wish.
Alicent fought for her own selfish desires.

May I request for yan House of the dragon platonic like everyone is platonic yandere for reader? And basically, the reader is Rhaenyras little sister, who was born when Aemma died. Rhaenyra hates readers because she thinks reader killed her mother. So, while Rhaenyra isn't there, Alicent is and comforts/mothers reader. The reader is close to all her siblings ( minus Rhaenyra) and her niece and nephew. Timeskip to the night in Driftmark,. The reader walks in and sees Aemond and asks what happens, somewhere along everyone fighting Rhaenyra snarkily says "don't think I didn't notice you ran to their defense" and reader snaps back and is like "when have you done anything kind to me? Why should I stand by you when your cruel to me" Alicent smirks as Rhaenyra realizes how much of a bad sister she was. The reader ends the big argument by saying "while my nephews do deserve some punishment, taking their eyes is far too extreme" and after, while reader was in their room, Rhaenyra came in a begged for forgiveness
Hello.  Everyone is a platonic yandere for the Princess.  Did I understand the question correctly?  I hope you liked it.
The birth of Queen Aemma begins and her first Princess is born. There is no problem at the moment.  However, Baelon's birth causes the death of Queen Aemma.  Prince Baelon dies a few hours later.  Rhaenyra blames her father Viserys and her younger siblings for her mother's death.  Rhaenyra never approaches or cares for her sister.  King Viserys is very angry with Rhaenyra for her behavior.  King Viserys spends most of his free time with his newborn daughter.  He tries to be the best father he can for the little princess.  Alicent takes the little princess under her wing.  Because she knows what it's like to be without a mother.  Moreover, Hand of the King Otto and the Velaryons are determined to play a role in the Princess's upbringing.  They will do anything to make sure the princess has a good life.  Over the years, the Princess turns into a very beautiful and intelligent young lady.  The Princess becomes a good big sister to all the children Alicent and Viserys have.  The princess is devastated by the loss of Laena.  She is in grief with the Velaryons.  When the princess arrives in the throne room, she is shocked to see her brother Aemond's face.  She immediately hugs her brother and tries to comfort him.  Rhaenyra's impudent behavior angers the Princess.  The anger of the Princess, who did not even raise her voice until this age, surprises everyone.
   "Sufficient."
Everyone was quiet and attention was focused on the Princess.
"What could be more normal than to be with them? Why should I be with you and your children? You have treated me like an enemy until this age. I will be with my family who love and protect me. You cannot be a family by blood. I hate and detest you. You are not worthy to be a princess. You are the disgrace of our house."
Rhaenyra was shocked by the words she heard.  Her sister, whom she had been an enemy to for years, had put her in her place.  The princess turned to face her father.
"How can you remain silent while Aemond's questioning is demanded? Do not try to do such a wrong, Father. I want justice for Aemond right now. Lucerys will be swept away. Or he will be stripped of all his privileges and titles. And he will never appear in court again."
King Viserys could see the fire in his daughter's eyes.  The princess finally stood up after so many years of silence.  King Viserys had chosen the second option.  Everyone but Rhaenyra supports the Princess' decision.  The princess turns to Aemond with a triumphant smile.
"Justice has been served, brother, don't worry. No one can harm our family anymore."
Alicent tearfully hugs the Princess.  Aemond admires his older sister, who literally fights for her like a dragon.  Perhaps the innocent admiration in little Aemond's heart will turn into a dark obsession in the future.

AN- Another preference guys!!! Also, I have an angsty Daemon oneshot based on Tere Liye song in my drafts...
Requests are always open and well appreciated.
Thank you and Enjoy your reading!
HOTD Preference
Being in an Arranged Marriage
Characters- Daemon Targaryen, Aemond Targaryen, Otto Hightower, Corlys Velaryon, Cregan Stark & Criston Cole
Warnings- Westrosi Shenanigans
Tumblr media
Daemon 'Rogue Prince' Targaryen
You are an honorable lady of one of the Great Houses of Westeros. And after Lady Rhea Royce dies mysteriously, your father plotted to marry you into a marriage with the Rogue Prince.
You had met him a few times earlier, and you were less than impressed with his... antics.
You swore you would have ran if you weren't devoted to your father and his life's work in order to make a beautiful legacy for your family (sounds Lannister-ish).
You had controlled the urge to laugh during the entirety of the feast hosted to honour your betrothal with the prince.
Daemon's face resembled that of a pouty kid who was denied something he needed. While on the other hand, Viserys was gleaming with happiness as he congratulated the "beautiful pair".
The wedding was lavish, much to both your and your husband's dismay. And while you covered your dismay with grace; his remained bad.
He was partially dragged to the sept by his brother.
Marriage with him can go two ways.
Either you become another bronze bitch for him.
Or you impress him with your charms and he ends up being completely enamored by you.
If you try to reject his advances; he will never quit making them.
And when you accept his devotion, he will be the happiest man in Westeros.
Aemond 'One-Eyed' Targaryen
He marries you on his mother's demand.
Very formal and stoic. Will reward you with only a hand on your back in extreme situations.
Aegon teasing him about the upcoming bedding after your wedding.
Also offering you an opportunity to approach him if Aemond doesn't suffices you.
"My lady, you know where to find me if my brother can't suffice your womanly desires in bed."
You in reply, had smiled sarcastically and said, "it won't be required."
The boy's ego was wounded.
While Aemond was downright impressed by your courage.
It starts slow with him.
And takes a loooooong while before he shows you his left eye; bared of the eyepatch he wears.
You had a hard start; worse than that of possible.
But he starts seeing you as family after Helaena softens up with you and you spend time with his niece and nephew. Alicent also likes you.
He would never compliment you directly or profess his love in words. But his actions speak louder than anything else.
Otto 'Hand of the King' Hightower
You are his second wife. And not really a recipient of his love and care.
Purely political marriage with both your and his house benefiting in some way; all while you were being prepared to be a man's second wife.
You learnt quickly how you shall always been seen as a shadow of his wife. And you were actually happy with it.
Both of you shall perform your duties to one another, but that would be it.
No speaking until necessary.
His children not liking you at first; but once you start to open up with them, they come to tolerate your presence.
The first real conversation you two have is after you find Alicent crying in her room, reminiscing the happy family they used to be before her mother perished.
You had barged into his office, demanding to know when was the last time he spoke to his daughter.
And you fought for hours. Until you broke down into tears as your patience ran thin.
"YOU DO NOT CARE OF ANYONE AROUND YOU, BUT YOURSELF! Not Alicent, not your sons, not the king... not me."
He saw you in new light that day. Someone who was ready to fight for his family.
And he starts engaging you in conversations at feast.
And honestly, you like it. Being noticed by your husband who only saw you as a trophy before.
Tumblr media
Corlys ‘Sea Snake’ Velaryon
Your father was the most important merchant in Essos; and you were his precious little daughter.
You met Corlys for the first time after his negotiations with your father.
When your father tells you that you shall be married to the Sea Snake to assure the new alliance’s birth and growth.
You were extremely angry. And hurt.
Your marriage to him was anything but modest; and took place in Driftmark.
You could feel the unease radiating off the lords and the King as they congratulated you and your new husband.
Unfortunate for you, your father skipped the part of him being a widower and having kids close to your age.
And you were furious. Very. Very. Furious.
You kicked and screamed; creating a scene behind the closed doors while your new family and your family was present.
Tensed with anger and disappointment burning deep in your chest, you find yourself roaming the beach as the sun raced towards the horizon.
You hadn't expected the man, your new husband, to come for you. But he did.
And you talked, deciding a few terms for easy marriage life.
Cregan 'Wolf of the North' Stark
You were from the West; betrothed to him after his first wife passes during childbirth, leaving him with a son, alone.
And so, your father decides that you should become his second wife and mother to his barely a year old son.
Your betrothal is officiated on letters. No formal meeting. No courting.
You were sent to the North before a fortnight from your wedding.
You arrived to be greeted by Sara Snow, since you cannot see Cregan before your wedding, as per traditions.
You have a wedding in the customs of North.
And then a smaller wedding with only close people around in the small Sept in Winterfell, where you are wedded in your traditions.
The feast following was loud and warm with wine flowing the cups and fire blazing in the backdrop.
When you were asked to share your first dance as a couple, your very first dance anyway; you hesitated as you accompanied him.
But everything went very very smoothly.
And then was the time of bedding ceremony. And Gods! Were you overjoyed when Cregan defended your honor and downright canceled the ceremony.
"Anyone who shall dare touch my bride shall spend his life without any further children. I and my wife are perfectly able to find our way to our chambers."
That night, there was no bedding. But you spent the time conversing while Rickon Stark slept against your bosom, peacefully.
Criston 'Kingmaker' Cole
Since he is the part of King's Guard, he can't marry anyone. But after he takes on the position of Hand of the King to King Aegon II and Prince Regent Aemond, that's a different story.
He arrives at your father's holdstead with a handwritten letter from the Queen Dowager Alicent, asking for your father's allegiance to the Greens.
But your father was no fool.
You were his eldest; first of the four sisters.
And so, he asks for a betrothal in exchange.
But with Aegon already married and Aemond betrothed to marry and Daeron too young for you, he asks Criston to marry you.
And with his undying loyalty to Alicent and Greens, he does.
The ceremony is small and not flashing, with only Aemond and your family present.
There was no feast. Just a close dinner between family.
You were scared... terrified actually.
But the Hand of the King reassured you that he will do nothing you don't wish for, and instead of consummating the marriage, he falls asleep; on the floor.
And you realize that maybe, he isn't as bad as you have heard of him.

[Would it have made a difference if Rhaenyra and Aegon were full siblings, only a year apart? If they were full siblings, regardless of age, the son have inherited rather than the daughter. I had to make it more complicated than that. Two children by different mothers, different wives? First wife and second wife? I always look to history for inspiration, and if you look at Henry VIII and his six wives, he had a daughter by his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, and that was Mary Tudor, Queen Mary I. And then he had a daughter by his second wife, Anne Boleyn, and that was Queen Elizabeth. Then by the third wife, Jane Seymour, he finally had a son, Edward VI. He was third in line, but he was the first to become king. History is full of these kinds of conflicts.]
I needed to read this twice.
Tumblr media
Edward wasn't third in line!!!!!!!!! He was the youngest of Henry's three surviving children, but since England followed male preference primogeniture until very recently, he was FIRST in line after his father died and if he had sired a child before his death, that child would have been his successor. The potential problem with the succession was that if Henry's marriage to Catherine was valid, then Elizabeth was illegitimate, but if their marriage was invalid then Mary was illegitimate.
As @duxbelisarius pointed out if Martin really wanted a Matilda/Stephen analogy Rhaenys and Viserys are right there. But that would require painting his beloved Daemon in a negative light.

wait is maegor normal in this au. well. normal for a targaryen..? does the red keep even exist? wow the trickle down effects are kinda crazy
No but. he never experienced the crushing daddy issues and second son complex he did in canon and the faith militant never rise up so he never dies of severe CTE and gets resurrected by evil magic. he spends most of his time constructing the red key to build his resume as heir and isn’t king for very long so he doesn’t have as much of a reputation, but he definitely isn’t normal.
He has his mom‘s crazy standards, predilection to violence, and weird codependent targaryen enmeshment so he’s weird to his daughter Rhaena because she looks just like his mom and he does kill his son Viserys in what is characterized as a training accident but no one really knows. least of all him. everyone else is horrified by this but he does not seem to be affected by it on the outside, which immediately alienates his subjects and loved ones. he rules over his peaceful kingdom of quiet subjects (read: Bolton PR-tier governing) until his death under dubious circumstances like four years later.

Aemond and Y/n's family (the daughters, daughters in law and grandaughters)
This takes place in the same universe at this post. I will do a post on the boys next.
Queen Daenerys Targaryen:
Tumblr media
Daenerys Targaryen was the first born child of Y/n and Aemond, coming into the world eleven months after their marriage. Rumors about Daenerys's illegitimacy stemmed from the fact Daenerys did not inherit her fathers white hair and had a fear of dragons. She spent the first few years of her life at Blackhalt, a island just off the coast of the Westerlands. At six she was taken to the Red Keep to be presented to Queen Rhaenyra and was chosen as the wife for Rhaenyra's grandson Viserys. As a future Queen guardianship passed from her parents to future Queen Baela. Rhaenyra died a year later and a fortnight after King Jacaerys was crowned. At ten and five Daenerys was married, against the protests of her grandmother Alicent Hightower who felt she was too young. At twenty Daenerys would give birth to her first child Rhaenyra. Shortly after Daenerys took Syrax as her dragon. Four years later Daenerys gave birth to her second child Alicent. At twenty and five Daenerys became Queen. Her tenure as Queen Consort was only five when her husband passed away. Given the political situation the council feared a child on the throne. Seven months with child, Daenerys became Queen Regnant. Three months later Daenerys gave birth to her third and final child, Baela. Daenerys would rule for fifteen years before dying of an ulcer in her belly.
Vaella of Blackhalt:
Tumblr media
Vaella Targaryen was the second born child of Y/n and Aemond. She was first married off to Orwen Hightower, however no children came from that marriage. At twenty she became a widow and returned to Blackhalt. There she remained as regent for her mother Y/n, who was very ill. When her sister became Queen Vaela was married to the Warden of the North. She gave birth to two children, Caergin Stark and Selene Stark. She had a happy marriage and during her husbands long military campaigns acted as the Norths ruling Lady. She died in her sixties from a fever.
Elara Targaryen:
Tumblr media
Like her eldest sister Elara was not born with Targaryen hair. Along with being born in Dorne, this once more brought rumors of Y/n's sexual conduct. In order to silence rumors Elara one day snuck into the dragon caves on Driftmark and took Cannibal as her dragon. Willful, many thought that what she lacked in Targaryen looks she made up for in spirit. She was closes to her brother Hardin who was only a year older. Elara would also make her own marriage by marrying Corin Velaryon, son of Lucerys Velaryon and Rhaena Targaryen. Elara was briefly imprisoner for this but quickly released. Elara accompanied her husband on his expeditions. Their marriage hit a hard place after a few years, however they worked to make it work and managed to end up very happy together. She had six children, Nymeria Velaryon, Naerya Velaryon, Helaena Velaryon, Saera Velaryon, Cora Velaryon and Rhaena Velaryon. At four and three Elara found herself suddenly pregnant. She gave birth to her final child Rhaena and passed away two weeks later from childbed fever.
Vissera Targaryen:
Tumblr media
Vissera was the younger of the twins, with Elara being born two hours earlier. Unfortunately Vissera died at nine months from a fever. Her short life was spent at Blackhalt. She was buried in her families mausoleum in the Red Keep, much to her mother Y/n's displeasure.
Alice Targaryen:
Tumblr media
Alice Targaryen was the final child of Y/n and Aemond and was the result of her parents grief. Her birth nearly killed Y/n and no more children were born to the couple. She was brought up in Blackhalt but only had her brother Viserys for company. At ten she moved to Oldtown as it was suggested she might become a Septa. This did not happen as Alice did not take to monastic life. Alicent resided in Oldtown until she was twenty and two. Despite her shyness Alice attracted unwanted attention for male suitors. Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhaenyra and Daemon, considered marrying her. Alice was quick to marry Roan Baratheon, heir to Storm's End. The next year Alice gave birth to Corbin Baratheon. She and her husband ruled Storm's End together. Alice died at forty and five from a lump in her breast.
Visenya Targaryen:
Tumblr media
Visenya was the only daughter of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon. She grew up in the Red Keep. At ten and five she met Elarion Targaryen, son of Aemond. She became a ward to Y/n Blackhalt and moved to the island. Visenya rode Meleys The Red Queen. At twenty and five Visenya eloped with Elarion and only came back when she fell with child. Her first child was Y/n Targaryen and a year later triplets Visenya, Aegon and Rhaenys were born. Visenya convinced her brother the King to give Elarion a dragon, Caraxes. Later on she would have three more children, Raellah, Veylara and Laenor. Visenya died at fourty along with her husband in battle.
Y/n of Essos:
Tumblr media
Y/n Targaryen was born to Visenya Targaryen and Elarion Targaryen. She was named after her paternal grandmother Y/n. Most of her childhood was spent in Essos with her parents and siblings. At ten and six Y/n was spotted by Vaeserion Targaryen, son of Jacaerys and Baela. At ten and seven Y/n and Vaeserion married. Despite the age different the two had a happy marriage. Ten years later Y/n's husband passed leaving her a widow with two stepchildren and a two year old daughter. She spent the next two decade as a single woman, being called "Lady Royal". In her forties, Prince Rhaenar, heir to the throne, falls in love with him. Y/n becomes his mistress however Rhaenar wanted to marry her. Horrified, Y/n fleed to Storm's End which was under the rule of her cousin. Eventually Y/n and Rhaenar come to an understanding. Y/n retires to Essos and died at six and eight.
Visenya the witch of Blackhalt:
Tumblr media
Visenya Targaryen was born the youngest of a set of twins. She was raised in Essos and at ten and six went to Westeros in order for her parents to secure a match. They had originally intended for her to marry Prince Edwin Targaryen however the match cancelled when her twin married Vaeserion. Visenya went back to Essos for a time and resided in Pentos. Visenya established her own court in Pentos and married a Pentoshi nobleman, Corbin of Pentos. Her firstborn child Astaria was shortly followed by a brother named Kiran. Visenya fought against slavery and was responsible for multiple slave riots. Visenya and Corbin would go on to have two more children, Alyara and Sephrone. She was associated at forty and one by slave masters.

Hi! I wanted to know your opinion of Jacaerys. I always see that Team Black believes that he would have been a good king and it is also mentioned in the text, I, on the other hand, like to analyze what I read and draw my own conclusions. This guy's decisions were largely...bullshit. The first one that comes to my mind is the idea of riding their dragons and not sending ravens because then everyone would know they were "Targaryens" because only Targaryens ride dragons...then he proceeds to propose the idea of dragon seeds with bastards who haven't lived with his privilege claiming and riding dragons...and we already saw how it turned out. He also seems to me to be a very bad negotiator since to get support or maintain it he had to make quite important concessions and promises. The idea of sending away their little half-brothers who are not old enough to defend themselves and who only have little Stormcloud, when Rhaena and Joffrey were perfectly fine in the Vale does not seem logical to me. I always see that he died trying to save his half-brothers but this is not mentioned anywhere, Vermax decided to fly low...yes, but at no time is it mentioned that it was to rescue Viserys, I have read this fragment in the books that talk of the subject, not only fire and blood and it does not appear, I don't know if the source is this video that appeared on YouTube years ago where the Strong Boys had Valyrian traits 😂 there we see the credibility. They also say that he saved Aegon but the truth is that he was saved by his dragon... who did not allow himself to die until he was safe in Dragonstone, this decision did not have any positive impact on his half-brothers, rather it condemned them, Aegon to live with the guilt that did not belong to him and Viserys to be married at the age of 12...after spending years kidnapped.
Then there is the issue of Driftmark, something tells me that the legitimization of Addam and Alyn and consequently setting aside Joffrey as heir to House Velaryon was Corlys' condition to maintain his support, the people of team black usually say that this is so because Joffrey couldn't inherit the throne and also Driftmark (😂 sure, Corlys would be very upset if he was really his grandson) but Jacaerys was also alive when this agreement was reached. In short, I do not see brilliance or political cunning anywhere, besides the fact that with his condition as a bastard he should not have rights to the throne, but in his case no one speaks of usurpation to his half-brothers Aegon and Viserys, to Alicent's children and even Daemon's daughters, who had more inheritance rights than him and his two brothers, in the end his claim was based on a very very bad lie.
The dance is very poorly written, the truth is that this fact should have had more impact, I understand that they were going to die and George did not worry, but that Rhaenyra continued to be heir and retain so many supports being a woman with three very obvious bastards in a feudal society....It doesn't seem credible to me at all.
They give the example of English Anarchy but the truth is that it has nothing to do with it. Matilda had no siblings and it was a cousin, son of her father's sister, who claimed the throne. She also had no bastards, she had no children from her first marriage, in fact in the end it was her legitimate son, who she had with her second husband, who ended up on the throne and she fought more for his claim than for hers. It is not as similar as Team black points out, there are quite a few differences, Matilda and Rhaenyra are not the same.
Have a good Saturday! 🫶🏻
Hii sorry for the late response, hope you had a great Saturday yourself!
As much as I am a team green supporter, I never really hated Jace that much. My only real issue with him was him bringing the knife when Baela end Rhaena said that they’re going after Aemond. That’s it. He was never as awful as Luke, but he wasn’t that likable either tbh.
Imo we simply never got to know Jace well enough to say whether or not he would’ve been a good king. There is pretty much no evidence to suggest that he would. He might’ve been a good brother and a good son but that wouldn’t automatically make him a good ruler.
I think people are just mainly saying this because he is Rhaenyra’s firstborn and they are gaslighting themselves into thinking that Jace would’ve been a great king and so it’s a win for Rhaenyra when in reality we can’t say for sure. As you said, he did make some questionable decisions throughout the story. He was still pretty young, so he could’ve either matured into a wise and just king, or power and ambition could’ve corrupted him.
I think Rhaenyra’s bastards, and Jace mainly, are interesting only because they died in horrible ways. As soon as they were born (outside of marriage), they were doomed. And that’s their whole personality unfortunately. They have nothing interesting to offer other than being Rhaenyra’s doomed bastards. And Jace is just that.
And if we’re being honest, I don’t think the realm would’ve accepted him as a king. The rumors were there and people were talking. Sooo….. idk.
And you are absolutely right about Matilda!!! Her situation is entirely different from Rhaenyra’s in pretty much every way:
a) a cousin via aunt is not the same thing as half-brother via same father-king
b) Matilda didn’t have any other siblings whatsoever and was named heir because she had none, Rhaenyra did have three male siblings
c) Matilda didn’t have any illegitimate children
d) Matilda didn’t marry her uncle
e) Matilda didn’t try stealing her husband’s nieces’ inheritance
I can definitely see the inspo but it’s just not the same thing on so many levels

Yandere Husbands prt 2
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
Second and final part. Now I don’t know anything about most of these characters since I’m not a book reader, so I won’t be doing Doran, Arthur, or Gerald.
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
  Aeys 2
x sister reader
YN was the twin of Rhaella Targaryen, but unlike her twin she and Aerys had gotten along quite well. She’d read to him as he practiced his sword stances, he’d talk on and on about his aspirations to be knighted, and they’d dream about their futures. YN did also get along with her twin Rhaella, the two having nothing but good things to say about the other. Rhaella was the one to tell her first about her love for Ser Bonifer Hasty, YN was certain that if they asked their grandfather he’d allow her to marry her love. But it wasn’t to last, as their father believed that the prince who was promised would come from Aerys and Rhaella’s line. Aerys protested, demanding that he instead marry YN and they at least liked each other. YN held her twin in her arms as Rhaella sobbed, her own heart slightly breaking. But she complied, they all did. Stefan and Tywin offered sympathies but insisted they must all do their duty. The wedding was a somber affair.
After the disaster at Summerhall and the birth of her nephew Rhaegar, Aerys approached YN. Saying that he still loved her and wanted to be with her, but YN pushed him away. He was married to her twin and she would not cause undue humiliation to her sister by indulging in his desires, and besides she was betrothed to a dornish prince. Finishing off her rejection with “You have an heir now, let me go to have children.” But he would not. One day, Rhaella was found dead in her chambers, her baby crying out for its mother. YN suspected poison but had no proof. When the question of marriage came up, Aerys demanded his father marry his sister to him. It wasn’t until 262ac, when their father died did Aerys get his wish. Despite the protests from Tywin, Nobles, and YN.
As king no one would deny him. YN was afraid of her brother now, doing her best to watch over her nephew, now stepson, for her sister Rhaella. The law by Queen Alysanne years ago made it so that the heirs from the first marriage would not be disinherited by the second marriage. For the first years of his reign Aerys had the sense to listen to his hand. YN was grateful for Tywin, being able to be the realist to Aerys grand plans and ambitions. Yet as the years went on, Aerys started to grow irritated at the sight of his wife being friendly with his hand. When YN was finally deemed pregnant, Aerys' paranoia grew. He wanted a healthy child. So he isolated YN from everyone, never letting her see the mistresses he took. One tried to slap away the moon tea offered, and Aerys strangled the woman to death. Eventually, Aerys' paranoia became very apparent. He was cocky and began to disregard advice from everyone, even YN. After her pregnancy, YN had given birth to a pale little boy Viserys lll, and he found himself in her bedroom not caring if she wanted it or not. YN’s nephew Rhaegar tried to defend her, but Aerys would slap the boy away. By the time Duskendale was stirring trouble, YN was forced to birth 5 children. Three of which were miscarried due to Aerys rough behavior with her. Tywin tried to step in once but backed away. YN was always grateful for him, but in the end there was nothing that could stop Aerys from having her. One morning after Aerys had been on top of her all night, he mentioned he was going to duskendale YN tried to say that it was a bad idea, but had unknowingly mentioned Tywin. She was met with a slap, he held her hair tight and kissed her hard.
“You are my sweet sister. If you mention his name again, I’ll have his burnt corpse presented to our children as a warning not to get between us.” YN hoped he would die in Duskendale.
Cregan Stark
(velaryon reader, just imagine maybe Laenor was able to do it once, so YN is the fraternal twin of Jaec)
Usually First Men descendants did not marry non first men, but Cregan wanted no one but the daughter of the princess. YN was the twin sister to Jaecerys Velaryon, unlike her brother she had darker skin and white hair. Cregan was enamored with the girl, but her beauty was only one layer. She also had a mouth on her, and could beat him at his own drinking games. After a month of bonding the boys swore an oath of brotherhood. Cregan and YN met under the weirwood tree, swearing love vows to each other. When it came to the issue of allegiance to The Queen, Rhaenyra, Cregan swore to her on condition that YN stay with him and one day marry him. Jaecerys and YN seemed to agree, as long as YN could do her part for her mother in the war. Her dragon Alaxys was eager to fly in the air.
During the Dance, YN flew point with her brother, and always returned back to the north. She seemed to like the cold more than the warm south. Her betrothed Cregan was always happy to have her back in her arms. He denied her almost nothing, except when she wanted to fight in the Battle of the Gullet and fly to Kings landing for her mother. Cregan had said no, practically holding her down when she ran for her dragon. He could not lose her. When she fought him, vowing that if he stopped her she’d hate him forever. At that he locked her in the warmest room, sitting outside the room hearing her sob and scream in agony. When the news of her brother's death came, YN screamed at Cregan calling him a traitor and a monster. But the death of her mother broke her, she became cold and angry. Stating to Cregan that she wanted to honor her oath, he was already planning to honor the north’s promise and took his betrothed south.
The hour of the wolf began with Alaxys landing in Kings landing with YN and Cregan on her back. The north remembered and the dragon burned with fury. Cregan spared no traitors, for the oath he held and for the love he had for his betrothed. YN was by her little brother’s side as Cregan delivered her vengeance. Alaxys burned the ones YN deemed deserving, Cregan took rest’s heads. When the hour of the wolf ended, YN was hesitant to leave her brother. Cregan reminded her of her vow to him, that they were fire and ice destined to be. She tried to reason that her brother needed her counsel as he was still a child, but his fingers dug deep into her arms. Vowing that he held no mercy for those who broke their oath. With much resistance, Cregan took her back to the north. Alaxys had spent so much time in the cold that she did not feel comfortable in the warmth of the south. They were married as soon as they returned north. It was a tumultuous marriage, full of love and fights. Sometimes YN would blame him for the death of her family, stating that he prevented her from saving them. He would lock her away in their rooms during those times. Eventually Cregan would not let others see her. They even had to fly together, as YN was not allowed to be in the air alone. Cregan enveloped her whole life, but the north remembered their vow of love, and he would not let her break it. She was bound to ice.
Rickard Stark
(Now I don’t know much about him other than the wiki stuff so please be kind)
YN did not notice the possession Rickard had for her. They were happily married for a long time, she gave him several children. During the time of Aerys ii reign, YN grew more fearful of the south. Not trusting that the Targaryens would keep away from the north. Her fears were proven to be true when the prince had stolen their daughter Lyanna. She begged her son Brandon not to venture south to retrieve her, but he was a Stark and he was loyal. The news of her son's imprisonment caused a great fury in her. The King in response, asked for her to come to the south.
Rickard wouldn’t let her go alone, so he placed the maester in charge as they both traveled down south. Once at the red keep, Rickard kept to the shadows as YN pleaded for the release of her children. The king put on the image of listening, but instead just stared at her body. He requested to meet her later in his office chambers, against her better judgment she did. Her husband hid in the shadows the whole time.
As soon as Aerys inevitably moved to assault her, Rickard emerged from the shadows and cut him down. The shocked shouts of his wife were drowned by his fury as he repeatedly brought the sword down onto his body. Damn his honor, his wife needed defending. YN tried to pull him off, but he pushed her away. When the king was unrecognizable, Rickard turned his blood soaked face to YN. She stepped back as he stepped forward, eventually she hit the bed shaking as he towered over her. He took on that bed, his own mad eyes shone with lusty glee. Adrenaline drowning out YN’s cries. He would be her king forever.
Eddard Stark
YN was Ned’s Second wife. Catelyn had passed giving birth to Sansa. YN was Ned’s first love, even if she did not view him that way. Her place was in Starfall, in the warmth of the south. But when Ned asked for her hand and YN refused, he locked them both in her room. He never laid a hand to her, but he went on and on about how she was abandoning him. That his children already had to grow without a birth mother, was she that cruel to deny them a second chance. He would have none but her, and if she would not have him then he would die. Did she want that? For his children to be fatherless as well? For him to die?
YN was broken down to eventually agree. So she was taken from her home to the cold north. She wanted to meet the children first but Ned spirited her away to their shared room. Not wasting any time to bed his lady. Once he was certain she was to carry his seed, he allowed her to leave the room. The children seemed uneasy around her at first, but her calming nature was like a balm to their grief. Unlike Catelyn before her, YN also included Jon in all her activities with the children. Of all the children Jon grew the closest. He looked so much like Ned, that Ned would seem overjoyed that the two were bonded.
Eventually YN got pregnant, the baby draining so much energy from her. But little Arya was so worth the wait. YN thought that since the baby girl drained her so she could rest a bit before another. But Ned wouldn’t have that. He wanted her pregnant almost always. After Rickon, YN begged to be given rest but he called her heartless to deny her children siblings. That she was preventing new life from being born. YN’s life mostly consisted of being pregnant and barefoot. When the King arrived to call for Ned, YN hoped he would take a position as Hand but he denied him. The queen pitied YN, and mused to herself that maybe her marriage was not as bad. Pregnancy after Pregnancy, YN Dayne was exhausted out of life.
Stannis Baratheon
(I’m not a fan of this guy so don’t expect much)
YN was married to a much older man. Stannis had already had a child, so YN believed she was in the clear for having children. But his red priestess told the would be king that their child would be a champion of light. One night YN was met with the image of her towering husband. SHe tried to ask him to leave, but Stannis grabbed her and forced her on the bed. Telling her it would be alright, that their child would be a champion, all the while ignoring her cried to stop. When it was over he rubbed her stomach and promised that their baby would be stronger than him.
Oberyn Martell
YN did not believe that a her, a Lannister, would be betrothed to Oberyn Martell. A staunch lannister hater, and a sexual fiend if you asked her mother. But her uncle was Tywin, and he had final say in the family. So she was sent south.
Oberyn promised that he would be a gentle husband. That he did not blame her for the actions of her uncle, but the stares of the others could not calm her fears. It was like they either pitied her for her situation, or only glared at her blonde hair. Oberyn's children all flocked to her, sweet and kind little things. YN decided to make her situation as best as she could. Her husband had copious lovers, maybe she could find one. She tried to tell Oberyn.
“If you wish to be false to me, I will kill any man or woman who looks your way.” He whispered to her, holding her shaking body. “You are mine now. If you want me to get rid of my infidelity, fine. But I will not let another Lannister bring pain to me. Even If I loved them.”

Aegon Targaryen x Sister Targaryen Oc
Summary: Rhaenerys loved her siblings, especially her brother, whom she was willing to steal from under green's nose to keep him safe.
A/N: It’s not my best work but I hope you all gonna like it nonetheless.
English is not my native language. Sorry for any mistakes.
Part 2
Tumblr media
Rhaenerys was Rhaenyra's younger sister. Born a year later, she was nothing that her father had imagined. Until now, she remembered his words.
-The maester said it was a son, he had to be. How he kicked, how energetic and strong he was- Viserys had repeated through most of her childhood years.
The woman tried to ignore how much his words affected her, but eventually she began to live with them, transforming them into her strength. She was stubborn, temperamental, and clever, winning her place among the royal court , but her heart remained the same. Kind and loving to those who she loved.
Her older sister and she were inseparable. They were a rock and peace for each other. When their mother died, when their dear friend married their father, or when the world forgot about them the moment their younger siblings were conceived into the world. They clung to each other as if they were eachother last bit of hope.
Only then did Viserys begin to notice his second daughter. He began to notice her dedication, her kind soul and hardened spirit. He tried to be supportive as Rhaenerys stared blankly at the wall after hearing the news that she would never be able to have children of her own, tried to treat her as equal to the older Targeryen, unconsciously loving her more than ever before.
The princess did not show it, for her subjects she was a tough and self-confident woman, but inside she felt defeated, lonely.
Many men followed her with their eyes, not hiding their lust, but she stubbornly pushed them away, knowing that she would not give them what the lords wanted most - an extension of their legacy.
However, there were also those whom she let into her bed. Ser Criston or Harwin Strong were the ones her heart cried out to, but the white-haired woman ignored her feelings each time, eventually pushing them away to watch her sister take them into her chambers.
Over the years, she had finally accepted punishment from the gods.
She had no choice but to start living with it, because the curse had no intention of disappearing from her life anyway, so Rhaenerys turned her bitterness into love for her family, which grew drastically quickly, bringing with it equally drastic changes.
Her younger siblings spoke to her very often, and despite Rhaenyra's silent objections, she had nothing to say, watching the love she once received passes to her younger siblings.
Ageon probably loved her the most. She was the first person that did not instill in him the obligation to reign, or didn't beat him when he did something inappropriate. As it used to be for her older sister, the violet-eyed princess became a peaceful haven for the boy.
He often dreamed of her as his mother or lover. She was all he needed, making him a better and more decent man.
But when she disappeared for six years, hiding in Dragonstone with the king's eldest daughter, her uncle and their children, the white-haired man began to return to what his mother's upbringing had created, to the drunkard who slept with another woman every night.
When she found out about it, she wasn’t furious but disappointed and she didn’t even knew in who more, herself or the fair-haired prince.
Tumblr media
Sitting on the great bed, in the royal chambers, the silver-haired girl tried not to cry. Seeing her dying father was hard for her. Rhaenerys was convinced that Viserys had become a living corpse, and his great suffering was evident in his uncover eye.
Holding him by the hand, he told him about what was happening on Dragonstone, staying longer in his presence than Daemon and Rhaenyra, who left her alone with her parent for a moment.
She felt as if everything was starting to fall apart, and the sight of her brother only confirmed it.
Entering his room, she found a real mess. The smell of alcohol wafted through the air, and the prince himself lay on the creased sheets, snoring. The white-haired woman approached him, looking at his body from above, unconsciously combing his silver strands, as she used to do when he was still a child.
Aegon muttered under his breath as he tucked his face into the pillow, fearing that Alicent had decided to pay him a visit again.
-Aegon - the woman said, her velvety voice immediately recognized by the young man.
Frowning in consternation, he opened his eyes to see the Trageryen in front of him who had haunted his dreams too many times.
-Rhaenerys?- he asked in a hoarse voice, trying to force himself to awake.
-I came back - she informed him, walking away from the prince's bed, when he decided to get up.
Violet-eyed man grinned, hugging her tightly. Snuggling against her body, he hid his head in the crease of her neck, inhaling the familiar and soothing scent that surrounded the princess.
-I missed you - he confessed, overjoyed at the presence of his beloved sister, but she did not answer -What's the matter?- he asked confused, looking at her purple irises- Why are you looking at me like that? Rhaenerys please don't look at me like that- he whispered, seeing the same emotions that the queen often looked at him with.
-What happened to you?- she asked, touching his cheek, which was slightly flushed.
-You weren't here. You left me, and my mother still demands more of me. I can't handle it, you left me alone -he complained.
-Will you drink yourself to death with a prostitute by your side every time I leave you alone? - asked the daughter of the king - Aegon, I will not be with you all my life - the white-haired girl replied, catching his face in her hands to look him straight in the eyes.
-I'm sorry -he said, and the first tears began to run down his face.- I'll stop, just don't leave me, please- he croaked, falling into her arms.
Rhaenerys wrapped her arms around him tightly, kissing his temple, she stroked his head with her free hand, motherly rocking him from side to side to soothe his brother, if only slightly.
-Now, now - she whispered soothingly -There are things that need to be taken care of, Aegon, then I'm all yours - she added, and her younger brother squeezed her body tighter in an act of silent objection, but the silver-haired woman knew that no matter how much he would not like it ,the young man will agree to anything, as long as she will be around him.
Staring at the wall opposite them, she struggled with her thoughts. She felt as if she were faced with a choice between her sister and her brother, whom she loved too much to gain one at the expense of the other.
And oh, how quickly and unexpectedly she was told to make that choice.
Tumblr media
As she ran through Kings Landing, the woman was desperately searching for the white-haired man.
The king is dead. This words still echoed in her head like bells, pounding in her ears.
She stayed in the capital because of her younger siblings, only to become a prisoner of the castle the next day.
She and Rhaenys were furious and deaf at Alicent's offer to convince them to join her and her son. And when an opportunity arose in the form of a gap created by a white worm, they both fled out of the Red Keep, hidden behind wide hoods , hiding in the large group of people.
-Wait- said the princess.
-We don't have time for this Rhaenerys - the old woman said.
-I know about it -purple-eyed replied immediately- But Aegon is not in the castle, I have to find him.
-What for? He is to become a king, and this will create a conflict that can not be avoided anymore - said the white-haired woman- This may be the cause of your death, do not be stupid.
-Free the dragons, free Aegarax and Sunfyre - she ordered firmly, ignoring her words. -Trust me -Rhaenyra's sister said, grabbing her hands.
The late king's cousin merely nodded before moving forward, straight to Dragonpit, when she walked in the opposite direction, begging the gods to be on her side. Capturing Ageon was the best and most risky solution. The prince was the last pawn needed to start a civil war, and Rhaenerys intended to take him away and hide him away from the queen.
Holding the paper in her hand, she looked at it uncertainly.
According to the written message, her brother hid in a temple in the city center, so she, having nothing to lose, trusted a stranger who, to her surprise, left many clues for her.
When she was not far away, one of the prostitutes showed her the direction and the side entrance, as if knowing what the woman had came for.
The white-haired princess entered the stone building. Taking off her cloak, she began her search in a seemingly deserted temple.
-Ageon - said the princess - It's me Rhaenerys. We have to get out of here as soon as possible, we don't have much time.
As if on command, the violet-eyed man left the stone altar, looking uncertainly at his sister, who, seeing him, ran up to him quickly.
-White worm said he would take me to the ship- he informed her -I will disappear from here and Rhaenyra will become queen.
The woman frowned in concern. There was nothing in her letter about the boat or the disappearance. Suddenly, a soft growl fell from her lips, and her eyes darkened with anger.
The white worm probably made the game, and the prince was the grand prize. The one who gave more won him and the rest of the seekers.
-I don't trust him - Rhaenerys said -Aegon, you will come with me. We will fly to Dragonstone. Do you understand? -she asked, taking his hand.
-But our sister, she will kill me- he said- Let's just run away together somewhere, far away- added the fair-haired man.
-Nothing will happen to you - assured the young woman - She never wanted to kill you, your mother inculcated it into your head, if your coronation happens, the war breaks out Aegon and many heads will fall from many necks.
The young man, still scared, nodded understanding as he let his siblings lead him forward. The princess thought she had time, but the sight of unfamiliar men heading towards the temple had led her out of her misconception .
The siblings hid behind one of the massive pillars. The woman pulled a dagger from under her coat, grasping it firmly in her hand, while the other held her brother's hand.
Stepping slowly, she guided her and the prince's movements next to her. The two twins looked around for Aegon, and when they had gone far enough, they took the opportunity by sneaking to the door.
-Quick - Targaryen whispered, looking from side to side.
-Princess- a male voice called her. Rhaenerys stopped. Hiding the violet-eyed man behind her, she was looking confidently at Ser Criston's dark irises, accompanied by Aemond -Prince, your mother looking for you -he added, shifting his gaze to the man behind her.
-He's not going anywhere - she threatened, gripping the blade tighter.
Suddenly, the twins came out from behind their backs.
The white-haired girl looked away from one place to another. After a moment she closed her eyes, trying to calm her breathing.
Dragons can tell when their bonded riders need them.
Suddenly a loud roar spread around, and a shadow covered the square on which they were located.
Dragons are not foolish creatures.
Aegarax descended from the stone structure, landing next to Rhaenerys and Aegon, carefully watching the people in front of him with his eyes.
They can tell the difference between friend and foe.
Opening his mouth, he let out a loud scream again, and then a fire appeared in the back of his throat. The white-haired woman took the opportunity to drag the would-be king to her reptile, quickly climbing his back together with the young man.
-Sōvēs! (Fly) - the blonde said loudly, and the animal rose heavily, destroying parts of some buildings around them.
The black beast soared above the ground as it flew through the city.
The rider looked back, the King's Landing receded farther and farther away, to become only a blur. As two more roars spread through the air, she breathed a sigh of relief. Rhaenys wth her dragon and Sunfyre flew near them.
The women looked at each other and nodded their heads in silent understanding. The white-haired girl closed her eyes, feeling the adrenaline leaving her body.
Aegon grabbed her hand, squeezing it as tightly as they had been a few moments ago when they were on the ground, then he kissed her cheek, hiding his face in her neck.
-Thank you- he whispered, but she heard him anyway.
Rhaenerys joined their hands together in response, nestling against his torso. They were safe...for now.

the thought and care he has put into methodically plan out this day is nothing short of laughable. the very same day he learned about rhaenyra’s departure to dragonstone, he started calculating how the reencounter would go.
aemond has spent years of his life now imagining his first meeting with his half-sister’s second son after the younger boy took his eye and his sanity with him. he has seen himself patiently waiting for the inevitable family reunion, holding his want for revenge long enough to have lucerys sleeping soundly in his bed and aemond attacking him in the middle of his dreams.
fast and dirty and treacherous, just like lucerys himself acted upon him that night.
sometimes, the ire and resentment that threaten to rot him from the inside are enough for aemond to forget about any meticulous plan and just ride vhagar to dragonstone and burn it to the ground, like the madman lucerys has made of him.
his favourite fantasy, however, doesn’t even revolve around him specifically, no. his most treasured daydream features his father caring for him like the parent he’s supposed to be and not the king who chooses favourites, demanding rhaenyra to handle what is owed to viserys’ second son.
aemond is not stupid, though. he knows the last one of these confabulated possibilities is the most unlike to work for him, for nothing has ever been handed to him freely and effortlessly before. aegon has the name and the position to get him the things he wants, and also the things he doesn’t —but that aemond desperately needs—, and if it had been his older brother, he’s sure there would had been more repercussions for rhaenyra’s bastard. but he’s the second son, the spare, the one who isn’t granted neither love nor justice and just serves the purpose of standing in the shadows until he’s needed.
still, he hopes.
(hoping has never got him far, either.)
aemond knows the corridors and the secret passages of the red keep by heart. he has memorised the names and faces of the guards and their schedules and knows when both servants and royalty are supposed to be in bed. so, it’s easy to imagine lucerys trapped under his power and will if he were ever to come back to the castle. it’s always the first option with aemond, anyways, because who’s he if not a perfectionist —second sons don’t get the chance to be anything but—.
and then the day comes. helaena and aegon get married and lucerys comes back home to attend to the wedding.
“i’m tired, mother. i shall see you in the morrow”, he tells her before departing himself from the festivity, noticing that rhaenyra’s children have already retired.
aemond has mapped out the exact path he’s following, years and years of submerging himself amongst the darkest corners of the keep finally paying off. he’s going to wait for the change of guard, and he knows everyone else will be wasted and high on wine and celebrations, having no intention of paying attention to any children that should be sleeping by now. the dagger he has chosen for this specific moment —he took two years to decide, but ended up electing the same that sliced through his own eye, because it seems that he’s a sentimentalist too— is safely secured under his belt.
he moves behind the tapestry dedicated to visenya that hides the almost invisible opening of the tunnel connected to the room that used to be jacaerys and lucerys’, the one currently inhabited by just the second boy, and only needs to take a swift look around the room to locate lucerys velaryon —strong, bastard, bastard, bastard— by the windowsill.
whatever aemond had planned for this moment dies before it’s even birthed.
the moon shines on lucerys’ alabaster skin, illuminating his face and his doe eyes. he’s looking up toward the west wing of the keep, his cheeks resting atop his hands and his elbows firmly supporting his weight against the wooden rail of the windowsill.
aemond knows what lucerys is contemplating, for his very own chambers are located in that exact wing. it shakes aemond to his core, because lucerys isn’t observing aemond’s territory with fear, keeping himself awake in a kind of a night shift in order to guard his own safety. no. lucerys is looking at aemond’s window, almost in a perfect diagonal line to this very room, with an expression that doesn’t take much for aemond to pinpoint and recognise.
lucerys’ eyes are wide and glassy, and his gaze is absolutely dreamy. he looks like he wants, like he longs, just like aemond does when viserys ignores him or mother and grandfather offer aegon something that aemond has been craving for longer, harder. he’s looking at the tower like a lover in one of the old poems that the maesters made them all learn, sighing and huffing as if his small heart cannot take the distance. like aemond looks at vhagar, or the iron throne from time to time. like aemond looked at viserys when he informed them that rhaenyra and her children were coming home.
lucerys is glowing, there’s no better word for it, and aemond cannot stop looking. he laments his lost eye, and for the first time not because of fury. he wishes he had the full capacity on himself to completely soak in and burn this candid moment that lucerys is unaware he’s providing. he wants to remember how red lucerys’ lips are, and how many little dots complement his nose and cheeks. he wants to remember his sweet sighs, and the wind ruffling his curls.
but more than anything, aemond wants to remember the look on his eyes.
why lucerys would look at anything related to aemond with such longing escapes aemond’s mind, but it matters not. he’s looking at aemond like that, indirectly and secretly, but he’s doing that, and something hot and possessive blooms in his chest, as if he had been branded by scalding iron. he wants lucerys to always look at him like that, to look at aemond’s eye and face with the same need.
lucerys is more of an angel than he’s a human, like a vision materialised on earth to save aemond’s soul. aemond wants to consume him, wants to be saved and damned by that boy.
the knife is heavy in his pocket, and it’s truly laughable how easily he has forgone his thirst for revenge and has replaced it with devotion. his resolve has crumbled, but he has forged his destiny. he knows it, he can feel it settling under his skin like an organism.
he doesn’t leave until lucerys is tucked under his covers and is finally succumbing to a deep slumber. he has been baptised, and he has a new god to worship —didn’t his own mother say that he was prone to obsession? what else could he do when he’s been provided with the representation of faith in flesh and bones?—.
aemond goes to sleep with a new resolution.
he wakes up when the sun is yet to be up, throat raw from screaming, the taste of the rain and the fire and the blood of a chase that was never meant to be heavy on his tongue.

This may be a weird request, but pls hear me out. Could you do something in the format of those headcanons you write for EM characters—like which planet they are associated with—but just describing the character and their role in the series/movie in like 2-3 sentences? Like a trivia of sorts. I’ve only seen HOTD, and while some of his chars can be googled easily, like Osferth or Tom Bennet, the ones like Genyen or Michael are very obscure to me due to not having seen the stuff they’re from yet, and there isn’t always a wiki page available for them. You being the #1 Ewan Mitchell expert, I don’t really know who else to approach with such a thing. Please & I’d be very thankful 🏵💞🍀
Yeah, I can certainly do that for you. Below the cut!
Abraham - features in only one episode of a long running soap opera called Grantchester. The main protagonist of the series happens across a Romani camp. Ewan plays a character who is engaged to a girl named Luella. Luella keeps disappearing off. When Luella's father won't tell Abraham where she's going, he kills him with a fireplace poker. It later transpires that Luella is having an affair with the farmer whose land they're camped on and she doesn't want to marry Abraham at all. He's upset, not only at the loss of his wife-to-be, but also because he was next in line to become leader of their settlement, and has ruined that by killing someone from their community.
Aemond - Second son of Viserys Targaryen and Alicent Hightower. Bit of a twat, resentful because his dragon egg never hatched in his cradle. Claims his dead aunt's dragon, and his nephew gets the arsehole with him and knifes him in the face for it. He loses hie eye, but puts a gnarly sapphire in the socket in its place. Kills his nephew for rocking up to Storm's End and cockblocking him, which starts a war within his family and loads of them die. Gets distracted by a big tiddy witch and spends the rest of the war slinging one up her until eventually him and his uncle commit murder suicide.
Billy Taylor - sweetest little treasure in the world. Works as a bell boy at a hotel called the Halcyon, which quite frankly ought to be shut down for its negligent business practices. Anyway, Billy is sweet on a maid called Kate. When a hotel guest assaults her, he pulls the guy's own gun on him and narrowly avoids getting the sack for it. His mum interferes in his drafting, because she doesn't want him going overseas to fight in the war, so he's stationed at the London army barracks manning the anti aircraft guns. Dies anyway, because he gets blown up.
Billy Washington - hopeless brother of boss bitch Lana Washington. Doesn't have a job, has been refused from the army and feels pretty shit about life. His girlfriend has left him and his flat's a shit state. Because of his mardy outlook on life, a fascist organisation is able to radicalise him and frames him for vandalising a Halal butcher's. They later plant a bomb in his car, with the intention of it going off when he gets out at Farringdon station, where an anti fascist protest is taking place. Lana intercepts him on route, and he drives to Cranstead Gardens instead. He panics in the car, not knowing what to do, and against all advice, ends up opening the door to get out, which sets off the bomb and kills him.
Ettore - on board a space ship with other death row inmates to try to find alternative energy resources. Essentially understood that it's a suicide mission, but the doctor on board is conducting heinous fertility experiments on everyone. They are not allowed to sleep with each other, but have a "box" that they can go into to masturbate. Ettore is generally considered creepy by everyone on board, and he is really perverted - lots of inappropriate staring, etc. One night, he sneaks into the cell of an inmate called Boyse and tries to rape her. When her bunkmate, Mink, tries to defend her he beats her up. Eventually, male members of crew are alerted and Ettore is beaten to a pulp. Mink then stabs him through the eye and he's chucked out of the airlock.
Genyen - Only in one episode of a soap opera called Doctors. Introduced in a Buddhist centre with a senior monk called Jinba. Jinba tells him to go out and collect money for the centre. A doctor from the series runs into him while he's collecting and feels sorry for him because he looks cold. He gives him his lunch and donates £20, which Genyen tucks into his robe instead of the charity box. Jinba sees and takes the money off of Genyen. At this point it seems as though Genyen is being mistreated by Jinba, and the doctor seems to think this too, so when Genyen wants to leave he gives him cash to help him. It then transpires that the reason Jinba doesn't want Genyen handling large sums of money is because he steals. He stole Jinba's bank card when he left and empties his bank account at an ATM. He is apprehended by the doctor though and the police are called.
Jack - from the short, Fire. Jack has an ability where the angrier he gets the more fire he is able to produce. His dad and him have made a living out of stealing cars. Jack runs away when he decides he doesn't want to do it anymore and his dad pursues him through the woods. Gets so angry his fire powers causes him to fell an entire tree.
Jason - from the film, Just Charlie, plays a guy hanging out at a play park. Beats up a girl when he finds out she's trans.
Michael Gavey - a student at Oxford. Befriends Oliver Quick because he believes him to be a social outcast, much like he is. Is a mathematical genius. Is quickly ditched by Oliver when he manages to befriend the more popular students. Incredibly abrasive, outspoken and looks down upon the popular students as he believes them to be "vapid cunts".
Osferth - King Alfred's bastard. Enrolled as a novice monk, but leaves the monastery when he's of age to join Uhtred, as his uncle Leofric had always spoken fondly of him. Not a particularly seasoned fighter, but brave in his own right and extremely loyal. Incredibly kind and maintains his faith throughout, but has some absolutely cracking one lines. "What is smite?" "Well, it's a word, isn't it?" Fucks like a dinosaur, according to the prostitutes of Winchester. Dies when he's stabbed in the side during battle, and it's honestly one of the most heart wrenching scenes I've ever watched in my life.
Poacher - from the short, Stalker, this film is minutes long and Ewan appears in it for seconds and says nothing. Plays a poacher that is in trouble for illegally hunting deer on private land. Just stands there holding a rifle.
Scott - from the film Stereotype. Literally only a voice part - a voicemail of Scott encouraging his friend to beat someone up.
Tom Bennett - a troublemaker that always seems to be attracting the attention of the police. He doesn't want to be drafted into the war, so decides to sign up as a conscientious objector. However, when it transpires that his latest crime is more serious than he realised, he enlists in the navy to avoid going to prison. Is stationed aboard the HMS Exeter and has a canary named Vera, which he takes bets for which ports she'll lay eggs in. Survives the Battle of the River Plate and it matures him. He's short in Dunkirk and ends up in a hospital in Paris around the time that they surrender to the Nazis. Is snuck out and across the Spanish border. In season two, somewhere on his way back home he stopped for a haircut that was administered by a lawnmower. His father died when their house was shelled and he blames his sister for it. He then goes back to war.
Will - from the short Salad Days. Robs people's houses with two of his friends. Discovers a gun in one of them and uses it to hold up a post office. Takes a worker hostage and his friends freak out and run away. He lets the guy go, but when his friend reveals he wants to go to the police about what they did, he beats him up because he doesn't want to go to prison or give back the money they stole.

I know your not taking requests but I don’t think of this as a request- Please ignore if so, just wanted to hop on this trail.
What the heir reader- Would the greens trying and take the throne away from the reader? Viserys naming her because he believes it was right and that some how she is the prince that was promised. Knowing the whole yandere feelings everyone has for the reader will make things complicated. Like for instance Otto loves you dearly but also uses it as a chance to have you grow by his side. He also proposes a marriage for your hand to Aegon but it shot down by his daughter and king.
I do believe that rhaenrya would have been upset but seeing how much the reader is dealing with/And helping the realm for the better she stays by her side (She would regardless) but back to the greens for now. Alicent, Otto, And the green side believes it is to much of a job for the reader to take on. Think of all the risks on her life, the constant decision making- It is not fitting for someone like you. They make it about doing what’s best for you. (that’s what try to believe.
Deamon and rhaenrya are fuming with anger hearing what has happened, not only did they not tell them that Viserys dead but they had token your title. The war begans like that for the sides fighting for what’s best for you, team green justifying their actions as a way to help you, then team black who fights for you and of your honor and duty.
Eventually, the greens would try to take the throne away from the reader. Alicent at first will refuse ever doing this to you. Otto as much as he loves you, he’s a man of ambitions. He will push for Alicent to have you wed Aegon when the two of you come of age. It’s a union that Viserys would have rejected, mostly in fear of how Rhaenyra and Daemon may react.
When that doesn’t work, Otto will convince Alicent that this is not a task meant for you. That you are one of a gentle heart, the second you sit on the throne, your fate may end like Aenys. The stress will eat you alive until it kills you. And if there was an assassination attempt on your life, it will convince Alicent further that is all for your own good and safety.
When Viserys utters his last words and dies soon after. Otto and Alicent will order you to be locked up in your chambers. There is the aching guilt, the constant battle in Alicent’s head. But Viserys said her son’s name. This is all for your sake, for your benefit. She only wants the best for you. Otto genuinely believes this as well, either you be a queen consort or not have the throne at all. He will even have you rule over Dragonstone if you wish to.
It makes Aegon further conflicted. He has no desire to be king and doesn’t wish to steal your claim. He more so is afraid you will hate him for it. The only convincing Aegon may have is if he were to wed you the moment he comes back to the castle. It will further support his claim and either way you will be queen, one with less power, but nevertheless a queen.
Aemond would also feel conflicted. But as Alicent was manipulated by Otto, she too will implement these ideas that you are unfit to rule, that your life will be in constant danger. It makes Aemond think if he were a king, he would be able to protect you. He had the desire to rule alongside you. Aemond also resists the union between you and his brother. His brother, at the very least, can keep the throne. He will get to keep you.
Rhaenys who remain in king’s landing is not surprised to know of the usurpation. She has always suspected the greens and has warned you and Corlys many times. Rhaenys, as though she doesn’t voice it to Alicent, refuses to kneel and accept Aegon as king.
When she releases Meleys from the dragonkeep, her first instinct is to take you with her. It could lead to the reader having to remain in king’s landing or be on dragonstone if Rhaenys succeeded in taking her. Either way, the blacks will want to declare war on the greens for taking your rightful claim.
Rhaenyra was hurt when Viserys chose you as an heir over hers, but her love for you is greater than any ambition or wishes. Daemon also feels a bit bitter, but as Rhaenyra, he’s eager to fight for your honor and duty. In this case, Rhaenyra has no knowledge of the prophecy unless the reader tells her. Rhaenyra and Daemon also do it out of love for Viserys as they know he will never choose Aegon over you. The children are all willing to fight for you, Baela and Jace especially.
The relationship between the Velaryons and Rhaenyra are a bit rocky, but Rhaenys will be on your side in the war and so will Corlys. And if they must work together to bring back what’s yours then so be it. At the time, they will also gather allies. With Cregan’s connection to the reader, the Starks will surely join their side of war.
The realm is divided into two sides. One that supports Aegon’s claim and one that supports the reader. It doesn’t matter to either side if the reader doesn’t wish for war. Even if the reader is wed to Aegon or perhaps Aemond, the war still rages on, with many demanding the reader to wear the conqueror's throne. Rhaenyra, Alicent and Rhaenys are the only ones who may listen to the reader. But when the news of Luke’s death reached Rhaenyra, it became far more personal.
Though no matter what happens, the reader is to never be harmed in any way. The greens and blacks let it be known any who shall lay a hand on her will face the worst fate known to man.

Cursed AU
Rhaenyra Targaryen only existed for a few hours in the history of Westeros, borned at sunset and died at dawn. But was that the truth? Did Gods give her just a couple of hours of existence?
The childbirth was painful and hard for her mother, almost killing her, but Rhaenyra was there, after hours of labor, not a small child, but a dragon, miniature, barely the hand size, without signs of life.
However, after a few seconds of deathly silence in the queen’s chambers, the silence was broken by a squeak, nevertheless quite menacing, forcing everyone to move around to save it, the dragon, alive, but just barely.
No one except the King had seen a dragon born like that, from human parents even though both him and Aemma had dragon blood.
Only the King knew it wasn’t the first time something like that happened. He had a brother once, Daemon, who, like Rhaenyra, existed in the history of Westeros for only a few hours as he was born as a dragon too. However, he doesn’t know if his brother is alive or not now.
The king remembers little about his brother: he lived with them for less than a year, and then he was taken to Essos, and then Viserys knew nothing about him, since he was ordered to forget about his brother.
Daemon wasn't a dragon all the time. For a few hours between sunset and sunrise, he was an ordinary person, just a human baby to hold.
And Rhaenyra was the same, turning into human just for a few hours before turning back to dragon form.
Whether this was a gift or a curse, Viserys didn’t know. But he did exactly what his parents did to Daemon — he declared Rhaenyra dead, and then sent her to a distant island in the Shivering Sea, with a couple of maids and guards, to raise and protect her, to keep her company and teach her, and be by her side.
Rhaenyra grew up as an obstinate child who didn’t know maternal and paternal love, but nevertheless she grew up a kind and intelligent girl.
And very beautiful.
She would have been the first beauty of the Kingdom if she had been born as just a human, not half-dragon, half-human.
And, despite the fact that she was surrounded by people with whom she had grown up all her life, Rhaenyra was lonely, deep loneliness that was sometimes too painful to bear.
At least it was like that until she met another dragon, red as the setting sun, with a long neck and funny chirping sounds when he sang his songs to her. He was both different and not from her.
But at least with him she no longer felt lonely.

Hello. Yandere is a yandere for husband Viserys 1 and childrens, mother. Maybe we should add Velaryons and Daemon to this team, even Hightowers. Suppose Viserys1 never married Aemma. Dear Reader and yandere Viserys' children, Baelon (born before Rhaenyra), Rhaenyra, Aegon, Halaena, Aemond, Daeron. (Alicent and Viserys never married and all their children were born to the beloved wife.) Readere is just when I think about how all of these children will be obsessed with their mothers. I wish Reader luck. Do you think Viserys would have loved Aegon, Helaena, Aemond, and Daeron and would have been good fathers, since they were born from a beloved wife? Would Aegon be normal?
i cannot tell you how much i absolutely love concepts. as much as i love yandere parents, i also love kids going yandere to protect their mother.
Tumblr media
Your marriage to your cousin Viserys, had been arranged by the time you were both teenagers, he had always been a good person towards you, caring and comforting.
You marriage went smoothly, you worked well together but there were those instances were you had doubts. Maids went missing when you got very close to them, so you tried not to anymore.
With the birth of you birth child, Baelon, the second of his name. He was your joy, the realm rejoiced.
When your grandfather died, a few months after Baelon was born, it had been decided by the council that Viserys would be king, you felt bad for Rhaenys, you think she'd make an excellent queen.
You welcomed your second child only a year after, Rhaenyra. A beautiful girl that had cried everytime she was away from you. Something that made you laugh.
You had been so busy, you didn't have you next child until over a decade later, much to both of your childrens disapproval. Viserys had been overjoyed, he spent his time talking to your swollen stomach.
Even his hand, Otto Hightower and her daughter seemed to be overjoyed and they congradulated you greatly.
"My, My. You grow big." Daemon had mused when he saw you with a playful tone, making you swat at him in jest. "Oh no! Viserys! Physical abuse!"
"You're the worst." You had laughed at Daemon as Viserys laid his hand on your nearly bursting stomach, his eyes filled with mirth.
You had welcomed twins shortly after that. Aegon and Helaena, your lovely babies. You had actually hissed at Viserys when he tried to take Aegon from you. It was amusing later on.
Aegon and Helaena grew up to be children who followed you everywhere, much like Baelon and Rhaenyra had when they were babies.
"Mama! Up!" Aegon would declare when you got close enough. He likes to be held so he could lay his head on your chest and sleep.
"Me too! Up, Mama!" Helaena would always join in, not letting her older twin brother best her.
It wasn't even a year later that you were pregnant again and it had made Rhaenyra roll her eyes.
You urged Viserys to start thinking of Baelon and Rhaenyra's future. To let them choose who they wanted to marry.
You had the same conversation with your children, as you had finally escaped your husbands grip.
"You must choose brides and grooms, but ones you like, ones you will choose to spend the rest of your lives with, like your father and I."
"I want to marry Alicent!" Rhaenyra had protested and you had smoothed her hair back. You knew of her affection for her dear friend, the daughter of the hand.
"I know, my love." You soothed her. "If you wish to keep her close, perhaps marrying someone who would not mind is best. Your spouse will be a prince. Think on it."
Baelon had already made up his mind, asking Rhaenys and Corlys for their daughter, Laena's hand in marriage. Laena would be the queen, that thought made her feel more easy. Laena was a lovely child. Wise and kind.
You gave birth to another boy, your beloved Aemond. He had been such a small thing. With his valyrian features and his attachment to his egg.
You had loved all of your children from the second you knew of them, they were your prides and joys. Aegon grew up to prefer being with you than attending his lessons. You had settled on teaching him everything he could learn from his teacher, your sworn protector, Ser Atlas.
Rhaenyra had married Harwin Strong and you had watched as Alicent, Rhaenyra and Harwin exchanged gazes, a smile on your face.
You last child, you beloved Daeron had been born the same year as your daughter's eldest son Jacaerys.
You were somewhat used to protectiveness but your children took it to a whole new level, at least one child was with you at all times, it was usually one of your four younger children but sometimes the dark glares that rhaenyra and baelon set on lord who got too close were not lost on you.
Viserys had all the love in the world for his children, never depriving them of anything they wishes. When Aemond's egg had not hatched, you both had taken him to dragonstone to claim a dragon. He had claimed Vermithor and you had never been prouder of him. His proud smile as he looked back at you still makes your heart swell.
Even after Baelon was crowned, after your dear viserys decided he wanted to retire on dragonstone with you to live out the rest of your lives. He demanded you be addressed as Queen Mother, the respect you deserve. Of course, your four youngest demanded to move with you, pouts on their faces as Helaena held onto your arm and how could you say no.
It was easy to look past their obsessiveness over you, you would always love them. they're your babies. your pride and joys. Your loves.

i think when ppl talk about rhaenyra having a birthright they don't actually know what means. if that was true for rhaenyra she would have been her father's heir from the time she was born. but i kinda get why someone would use those words but that sort of language is a lot more convincing than "claim."
also rhae being 8 in the text when she's named princess of dragonstone versus 14 in the show- what kind of difference do you think there was, in terms of emotional impact on her? idk if that makes sense, lol. like book rhaenyra probably can't remember a time that she wasn't first in line to the throne, whereas tv rhaenyra can remember because for almost the first 15 years of her life she wasn't viserys' heir
Hi again!
Technically, Rhaenyra did have a "birthright" to the throne when she was born, but that was because she was the only (living) child. As soon as a living brother of hers was born, her birthright was to be second in line, after him. Of course, as soon as he died, she reverted back to being first in line. Until Aegon was born.
I think the age difference is really interesting in that regard, because the older Rhaenyra is, the better chance she has of understanding that dynamic and internalising it. Like you said, if she is named heir at 8, it's easier for her to forget that she wasn't always no1. But maybe it's also a little more, IDK the right term for this, maybe honest? For Viserys? In the books, he's 20 years old when she is born and 28 when he names her heir. Certainly, no one would have considered him at the end of his heir-making career, yet he still insisted on Rhaenyra. Whereas in the show, he is much older - his actor is a 50 year-old-man. Not to say he couldn't still sire children, but deciding on Rhaenyra when both of them(!) were so young is a detail that maybe someone writing an adaptation could focus on as evidence of true belief in her (if incompetent politicking).
Of course, a lot of this can just be attributed to GRRM's typical bad maths or attempt to force through as many events as possible within a tight timeline - which would explain why everyone is so young all the time.
Anyway, back to Rhaenyra, I think they did explore that a little, as they did give Rhaenyra lines to that extent - how Viserys always wanted a son, not her, how her mother died trying to fulfill Viserys' wish (and ultimately downgrade her in the line of succession), how Viserys intends to replace her with Alicent's son, etc. It's a very fucked up idea to ultimately wish for your replacement just so your mother could get a respite from the pain. NGL - that was a very compelling conflict point that made young!Rhaenyra sympathetic. Unfortunately, it went completely away with her adult self, which they sanitised into this blank canvas and stripped of most personality traits that she resembles a YA novel heroine.
Looking back, I wonder if it were not better to skip the last time jump altogether and just end the 10-episode season at Driftmark. They could have included 3 extra episodes to bridge the divide between young! and adult!Rhaenyra and explore some of the ways in which she ultimately found the position of heir dissatisfying. Which, again, could have been an interesting character exploration. Imagine finally getting the recognition that you wanted only to discover that you greatly dislike all the restrictions that come with that recognition and you become so cantankerous and disparaging of it that you end up wishing you never named heir in the first place, all the while living as if you have no responsibilities.
