Checkmate - Leona Kingscholar x Reader
Tumblr media
Being a mere mortal in a world of magic presents a host of challenges, from cleaning the house with elbow grease instead of a flick of the wand, to trudging across campus while others soar on brooms. Even in the classroom, non-magical students struggle to keep up with the pace, fumbling with notes as Professor Crewel erases them with a simple spell. And while many exciting extracurricular activities abound, they often require magical prowess beyond the reach of non-magical students. But the most vexing of all, at least for [Y/N], is the inability to deliver a well-deserved punch to Leona's smug face.
Today was a typical day for Leona - lazy and without much excitement. In the midst of his ennui, he searched for something to entertain himself, and somehow, the most amusing thing he could find was to poke fun at the only non-magical person at NRC.
And so it was that we found ourselves at this moment - [Y/N] with furrowed brow and intense focus, striving to outmaneuver the king of the jungle himself at his favored game, chess. Even though the situation was intense and there was an overwhelming amount of stress and pressure, for [Y/N], there was an important prize at stake, making the game all the more crucial to win.
"[Y/N]!!!!!!" Grim's voice echoed across the room as he struggled against Jack's iron-tight grip. "What is taking so long? Just beat that jerk already and take me back home!!! Funya–!!!" Ruggie held Grim's head still, letting out an ominous chuckle. "Shishishishi~ If you don't calm down, we might eat you up before the game is over."
Once again, Grim found himself a captive of some unreasonable dorm leader. However, this time, not everything was his fault. One could argue that he could be an annoying tanuki at times, but it was not a reasonable justification for being held hostage in an all-jocks dorm, but, if abducting Grim was what it took to make [Y/N] take the chess game seriously against Leona, then Leona was more than happy to do so.
In a burst of fury, Leona let out a mighty roar, commanding everyone to be silent. "Shut up!! " He bellowed, locking eyes with the source of the disturbance. His fierce gaze dared anyone to speak up again. "If you don't all quiet down, I shall turn you into sand!" Leona snarled at the rowdy bunch. "Now, make your next move, herbivore" he continued with a mischievous grin, turning his attention to [Y/N].
Despite not being the most powerful student at Night Raven College, [Y/N] possessed a remarkable strength of will and an aptitude for thriving under pressure, particularly when the well-being of her friends was at stake. If she could rescue her friends and the Ramshackle Dorm from someone as brilliant as Azul, then surely she had a chance against Leona. "Blaming a little noise for your inevitable loss?""[Y/N] taunted with unwavering confidence, even though she was trembling with fear on the inside.
"Ha! I'll wipe that smug grin off your face," Leona retorted, his eyes fixed intently on [Y/N]'s next move.
The chessboard lay between them, an intricate battlefield of black and white. They sat across from each other, eyes locked in fierce concentration as they contemplated their next moves.
The game had been going on for hours, and the tension in the room was palpable. Every move had been carefully calculated, every countermove anticipated. The players had exchanged pieces back and forth, their strategies shifting and evolving as the game progressed.
But now, as the endgame drew near, the stakes were higher than ever. They were both in check, their kings under siege from the other's pieces. Sweat beaded on [Y/N]'s brows as she searched for a way out, a move that would save their king and secure victory.
Suddenly, [Y/N] saw it - the perfect move, the one that would turn the tide in their favor. With a quick, precise motion, [Y/N] moved their bishop, capturing the opposing knight and freeing their king from danger.
But Leona was not to be outdone. He countered with a move that had been planned from the beginning, a devious gambit that threatened to take [Y/N]'s queen and secure victory. As Leona watched [Y/N]’s intense concentration and unwavering determination, he couldn't help but be captivated by her every move. Though he would never openly admit it, her fierce expression held more entertainment value than the game of chess itself.
Leona's voice dripped with amusement as he taunted [Y/N], "What's this? The brave hero who was so smug just moments ago now quivering like a mouse in a lion's den?" He chuckled at his own joke, adding pressure to the tense atmosphere. "How amusing," he added with a smirk.
Despite her desire to snap back at Leona, all [Y/N] could do was shoot a dirty look at him, realizing the crucial importance of this moment in the game.
As the players continued their fierce battle, the room filled with the sound of clacking pieces and murmurs of onlookers. The tension was nearly unbearable, each player hanging on the edge of their seat as they fought for victory.
And finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the game was won. [Y/N] emerged victorious, having outsmarted and outmaneuvered Leona" YES!!! YEEEEEEESSS!!!" [Y/N] screamed in euphoria, her heart filled with triumph. "Take that, you asshole! Now, give me my cat back!" [Y/N] let out a proud scream as she reached out to Jack to retrieve Grim and hold him tightly in her loving arms. “I’m not a CAT!!” Grim protested.
"Huh ~ Looks like the kitty's got claws after all," Leona remarked with a devilish smirk. "A deal is a deal. You can take the tanuki and go now," he said as he settled onto the couch and prepared to take a nap.
[Y/N] wasted no time in sprinting out of Savannah Claw and running her way towards the safety of the Ramshackle Dorm. She knew that Leona was unpredictable and could change his mind at any moment, so she didn't hesitate to take her chance and escape with Grim while she could.
Ruggie chuckled sinisterly. "Shishishishi~ It's unlike you to let someone win, Leona-san. Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with your food?" he taunted.
But Leona wasn't fazed. "Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war, Ruggie," he replied menacingly, his eyes closing as he drifted off to sleep. "Now get out of my room before I blast you out of the dorm."
And with that, the contented feline was able to conquer his boredom, his mood greatly improved after spending an afternoon teasing his favorite herbivore.

Valentines chocolate heart baking contest, 1st prize: Two tickets to romantic free getaway trip to Paris. Hosted at Paradis Mall. Anyone can enter.
Judges: Erwin, Kiyomi & Pixis
Yes, I'm thinking of this being a sequel to the Christmas cookie competition I've requested previously since what you wrote was really good!!
thanks im glad you liked it!!! i hope you like this one too :)
battle of the sweets
snk ensemble. modern au. 2937 words. read on ao3.
A crowd is gathered once more in the center of Paradis mall, this time for the mall’s first annual Valentine’s cookie competition. Although the owners of the mall had initially planned for the baking competition to be limited only to the Christmas season, the event had been such a hit that the event organizers decided to hold another competition for Valentine’s Day. Even more people are gathered today than there were at Christmas to watch the contest. Some have even scheduled their usual weekend shopping around this event. Many are sitting around the center plaza, munching on the free samples of cookies provided by the bakers competing today and commenting on who they believe is going to win.
“Hello, all, and thank you for coming to our Valentine’s Day cooking competition! Whether you’re here to compete or observe, we're honored you have joined us,” famed baker and television personality Erwin Smith says with a brilliant smile that causes many women in the audience to swoon or gasp in awe. He takes a pause, waiting for people to settle down, and then gestures towards the tables of bakers behind him. “It’s a great honor to be back here once more and see familiar faces return to compete in this holiday’s cookie competition. Of course, none of this would be possible without Paradis Mall sponsoring this entire event.”
Beside him, Dot Pixis nods. “Indeed, who would have thought I would be back here to see so many bakers share their creations with us. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care was put into these submissions, not to mention creativity!”
“We’re all very excited to see who will be the winner of this event’s competition. Remember that the winner will be chosen by popular vote just as it was during the Christmas competition,” Kiyomi Azumabito says. Unlike Dot Pixis and Erwin Smith, Kiyomi was not a part of the judging panel during the Christmas competition but was chosen to replace Nile Dawk, who is reportedly on a romantic getaway with is wife and couldn’t attend. Kiyomi, however, has some respectable experience of her own in the food industry as a world-renowned food critic specializing in cafés and bakeries. Many food establishments have exploded in popularity following positive reviews from Kiyomi. The famous food critic smiles and adds, “And remember that the prize for this year’s Valentine’s Day competition will be free tickets for a romantic getaway to Paris!”
“Everyone, please feel free to sample the wonderful cookies that the participants have submitted today as we tally up the final votes so we can announce the winner,” Erwin says.
Many children in the crowd hurry up excitedly to get a few more cookies in while the adults are a bit more reserved in taking any more. There isn’t any clear favorite among the submissions so far with many people sampling from all the different tables eagerly. The participants interact with the audience members, trying to speak loudly as they describe their cookies and entice other people nearby to try their cookies even though most of the audience have voted already. When they aren’t chatting up the audience members or judges, the participants are talking amongst themselves and debating their own chance of winning.
Pieck is rocking up and down on the balls of her feet, a pleased smile on her face. She has an air of confidence that only makes Porco weary. It’s clear she has something up her sleeve that makes her believe they’ll win, but Porco is all too familiar with Pieck’s plans and knows that they result in headaches more than anything else.
“What did you do?” he asks.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pieck says, batting her eyelashes up at her companion. She doesn’t bother hiding the upward curl of her lips as she returns her gaze to the judges circling the table. “I just have a good feeling about winning. Did you notice how much Dot Pixis enjoyed our cookies?”
Porco did notice, although he hadn’t paid it very much mind. He thought the chocolate truffle cookies that they made were good, although he doesn’t know how it would hold against the other entries, some of which looked suspiciously professional . He can’t say that Pieck’s and his baking skills have improved significantly since the Christmas cookie competition, but he did feel a flush of pride when Dot Pixis made an innocent comment about how there seemed to be an extra ingredient in the truffle cookies that really elevated the chocolate flavor.
“Wait, did you not follow the recipe? Did you add something different?” Porco asks. He wonders how worried he should be about this. He doesn’t think Pieck would put anything illegal in the cookies, at least he hopes not. He grabs Pieck by the shoulders, shaking her slightly. He keeps his voice low in case others can hear them. “Pieck, what did you put in the cookies?”
“Oh, you know, just some bourbon. I read online that Dot Pixis appreciates a glass every now and then and thought catering to his tastes might be beneficial to us,” Pieck says proudly.
“Pieck, you know that the judges don’t get to vote, it’s just the audience members,” Porco sighs and then realizes something. Narrowing his eyes, he asks, “Did you use the bourbon bottle that I was keeping in the back of the cupboard?”
Pieck nods without any hint of guilt.
“Pieck, I was saving that for a special occasion!” Porco says exasperatedly. He’d be angry if Pieck weren’t looking at him so endearingly right now. It’s only a momentary flash of annoyance. It was an expensive bottle, one that Porco had bought impulsively one a good day and had planned to drink on an even better one only he had never gotten around to it.
Pieck reaches out to squeeze Porco’s arm. “There’s still a lot left. We can have a glass once we win those tickets to Paris,” she tells him earnestly.
“Sure,” Porco says, but he’s not convinced that they’ll win. Well, he supposes losing is as a good a reason to drink as any. Why only drink on good days?
Sasha and Connie sit at the table beside Pieck and Porco. The pair share a contemplative expression on their faces after having overheard Pieck and Porco’s conversation. When they had arrived at the competition, they were confident they would win but now it seems they’re no longer as certain of their prospects. They’re whispering to each other when Jean just shakes his head.
“Whatever it is you were thinking, just stop,” he says. He’s never known any of their schemes to be good and has only ever participated in the baking competitions to prevent Sasha and Connie from burning the house down in any of their attempts to be creative with baking.
Sasha slouches down in her chair, her arms crossed against her chest as she pouts. Beside her, Connie wears a similar discontented frown. “You didn’t even hear what we had to say!” Sasha protests as Connie nods vigorously.
“Okay, then what were you guys thinking?” Jean asks even though he knows whatever comes out of his friends’ mouths will make him deeply regret asking in the first place.
“We should have put weed in the cookies,” Connie says.
“First of all, illegal. Second, there are children here,” Jean points out. “Also, don’t you think you have enough going on here without edibles?” Jean gestures towards the plate of cookies sitting in front of them: red velvet cookies studded with white chocolate chips and drizzled with milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and ruby chocolate for good measure.
“I guess ...” Sasha says, although she doesn’t sound thoroughly convinced that the mess of chocolate and red velvet is decadent enough.
Bertholdt is observing Sasha and Connie’s table, cracking his knuckles nervously. He doesn’t love what he’s heard and although it appears that the cookies are not drugged, one can’t be too careful and so he snatches the red velvet cookie that Zofia has on her plate.
“Hey, I was going to eat that!” Zofia protests, glaring up at the gentle giant.
Even though Zofia is well under half his size, Bertholdt cowers at her fiery gaze. “S-sorry!” he stammers. “That cookie just seems a little ... well, there are a lot of other ones you can eat, Zofia.”
“It’s not like she hasn’t eaten all these cookies three times over at this point,” Udo says under his breath and Zofia shoots a glare at him in response.
“You’re just jealous that you didn’t have the idea of scouting out the competition like I did,” Zofia huffs.
Gabi is waiting impatiently for the winner to be announced. Like Zofia, she had also partaken in sampling other competitors’ cookies for the sake of “scoping out the competition,” but she hadn’t gone back for seconds because she was completely convinced that their team would win. “There isn’t any competition at this point. We’re clearly going to win this time around,” Gabi says.
“Are you sure?” Falco asks as he glances at the table next to them. The heart-shaped cookies with pastel pink sprinkles over a matching glaze look so much cleaner than the hastily frosted and sugar cookies that he and his friends had made.
“No worries. We’ll win this time for sure,” Reiner says with a winning smile as he squeezes Falco’s shoulder reassuringly.
“Please stop telling them that. I don’t think our budget can handle tickets to Paris for everyone,” Bertholdt hisses.
“We’ll worry about that later,” Reiner whispers back, waving Bertholdt’s concerns away dismissively with one hand.
At the next table, Marcel has his own concerns about his friend’s entry. They look a little too perfect. Sure, a few of the of the sugar sprinkles look uneven but the cookies look like they were made from a bakery. It’s definitely an upgrade from the grocery store cookies that Annie had purchased for the Christmas competition a few months ago.
“Is that allowed? We’re supposed to bake the cookies ourselves, you know,” Marcel tells Annie in a hushed whisper who only shrugs.
Annie has never been one to worry about rules and regulations. She doesn’t even read instructions when she plays games, so it’s no surprise that she’s once again submitted something that hasn’t been homemade. “I put on extra sprinkles on some of them. I think that counts as homemade enough,” she says.
“You know, bringing in professionally-made cookies could be grounds for disqualification. You could be banned from future competitions because of this,” Marcel warns.
“Really?” Annie asks, sitting up. Her brow furrows a bit. It seems she had wanted those tickets to Paris more than Marcel had thought. She frowns and looks over at Marcel’s plate of cannoli. Marcel had admittedly been ambitious when he set out to make the Italian pastries, but they had come out pretty well and he had been generous with decorating them with heart-shaped sprinkles. “Marcel, switch with me.”
“What? No way! I worked hard on these!” Marcel pulls his cookies closer to him and away from Annie’s reach.
Annie slumps back in her seat and grumbles, “Damn, I should have bought my cookies from a shittier bakery.”
Historia and Ymir sit in front of their box mix cookies. Historia’s cookies don’t look or taste nearly as good as they did at Christmas, perhaps because she had actually attempted to bake her cookies this time instead of hiring her personal chef to make them for her. It amuses Ymir, who has been snickering the entire competition, to no end.
“Stop laughing. Your cookies look worse than mine!” Historia hisses, smacking Ymir on the arm.
“Yeah, but I was always shitty at baking. I’ve never seen you bake before and yours look awful,” Ymir laughs. She doesn’t even try to suppress her laughter. She points to a misshapen heart cookie that looks more like a blob. “What the fuck is that supposed to be?”
“What about yours? They have instructions, Ymir, and yet you managed to burn nearly every single cookie!” Historia says, pointing at Ymir’s own overbaked cookies that have been covered in bright pink frosting to hide the burnt parts.
Meanwhile, Levi and his friends are gathered around their own plate of cookies. Levi couldn’t care less about winning. Like the previous competition, he had only participated in this baking contest because his friends had convinced him it would be a fun bonding experience. Was he pleased with winning gift cards to the Paradis mall? Certainly, but he hadn’t been very happy with being teased about his burnt cookies and had this time accepted more help from his friends, although they were uncertain about Levi’s submission choice.
“Don’t you think it would have been better to bake something that was, I don’t know, more Valentine’s Day related?” Eld asks as he looks down at the plate of chocolate chip cookies in front of them. The chocolate chip cookies did turn out well and they had many people come up to sample them, but they’re very plain compared to the pink and red cookies that other people have baked for the competition. Nothing about Levi’s cookies gives an indication about the romantic holiday.
“Maybe if we should have decorated them with those heart sprinkles every else seems to have,” Gunther murmurs.
“That’s not what the recipe said to do,” Levi scowls. Levi knows his limitations and one of his main flaws is not being able to cook in any capacity. As a result, he follows recipes down to the very letter and even that sometimes results in disaster.
“The cookie recipe we used for Christmas didn’t say to burn them to crisp, but you did that anyway,” Auruo points out before letting out a yelp when Petra elbows him in the side.
“It’s fine. We won last time anyway. We should give everyone else a chance,” Petra says.
At another table, Armin is looking curiously at Eren’s submission. It looks like an abomination of a cookie, a Frankenstein of a cookie because of all the different cookie doughs that have been mashed up together to make one monstrous confection.
“What do you have there, Eren?” Armin asks, although he’s afraid to hear the answer.
“It’s the greatest Valentine’s Day cookie ever,” Eren says. From his puffed out chest and the expression on his face, he’s clearly pleased with his creation. “It’s, like, ten Valentine’s Day cookies mashed into one cookies. Of course, I put in as much Valentine’s Day candy as I could find, too.”
Mikasa leans down to inspect one of Eren’s cookies and frowns at the heart-shaped Sweet Tarts candy studded in the pastries alongside pink and red M&Ms and gummy bears. She’s not sure how she feels about the mix of cookie, chocolate, sweet and sour candy, and gummy bears. “I like your creativity,” she finally tells Eren.
“Right? I could help you guys next time if you want. Yours are great, but they could use a little more spice to stand out from the rest of the submissions,” Eren says. He gestures at Armin’s and Mikasa’s cookies and then at the rest of the cookies that their competitors have made. It’s true that Armin’s red velvet crinkle cookies and Mikasa’s strawberries and cream cookies half-dipped in white chocolate are similar to most of the other cookies in the competition, but it’s not always a bad thing to blend in with the crowd.
Someone on the ballot counting committee makes a signal to Erwin Smith who nods and waits for someone to run to him with a paper with the winner’s name written on  it. Once he receives the results of the vote, the celebrity baker puts on a dazzling smile, one that makes women stare open-mouthed as they wonder how they’re standing on the same earth as someone so handsome, and he clears his throat to speak.
“Thank you once again for coming to our Valentine’s Day competition. How wonderful to see so many familiar faces as well as new ones!” Erwin says. As he speaks, he discreetly hands the paper with the results of today’s competition to the other judges so that they can see. “Like you, we have all seen and tasted so many beautifully baked creations and that selecting a winner was difficult. The votes were very close.”
Kiyomi nods in agreement. “The winner of this Valentine’s Day cookie competition was an exceptional submission. It’s a cookie that was made with such time and care. It’s obvious that the baker is incredibly skilled and their baking could even be considered professional by my standards.”
“Absolutely,” Dot Pixis says with a twinkle in his eye. He twirls the end of his mustache, a smile on his face as he continues. “It reminds me of a cookie that I see in my own bakery, although with a few personal touches. I may have to ask the winner if they’ll join my bakery after this competition.”
“Oh, fucking hell,” Annie groans, sinking down in her seat.
“And the winner of this year’s Valentine’s Day cookie competition is ... Miss Annie Leonhardt!” Erwin announces and waves grandly at Annie’s table. He doesn’t seem to notice that she’s trying to disappear behind it.
“Do you think they’ll kill me if they find out I bought the cookies from one of Pixis’ bakeries?” Annie whispers at Marcel, looking panicked as the panel of judges begin to approach her table to give her their congratulations.
“If they do, can I have your Paris tickets?” Marcel asks.
Annie flips him off under the table in response.

DiapOut: Chapter 1
“Hiya kiddos! My name’s CassiRole, and I’m a big baby, just like you!”
Jumping for joy in her frilly, neon green fairy dress with her big diaper blatantly on display, CassiRole planted her feet and posed on landing, smiling directly into the camera. Thunderous applause filled the air as she glanced out at the sea of dim faces that made up the live studio audience. HER live studio audience. “I hope you’re excited for the show today, little ones! Are my babies ready for playtime?” she said, enthusiastically placing her hand to her ear.
“Yes we are!” chanted the dozens of audience members. A mix of adult babies, diaper lovers, bigs, littles, and everyone in between made up the seating gallery, each person thrilled to be witnessing a first-of-its-kind ABDL game show! Their voices fueled CassiRole’s Little side immensely, and with how excited she could tell they were, she knew this was bound to be an amazing show.
Only a year ago, Cassidy Rhiner, aka CassiRole, was a theatre student in college, working two minimum-wage jobs to pay her own way through. It wasn’t easy, but she had dreams of making it big. After graduating from university, she never would’ve guessed that her greatest asset when arriving in Hollywood was her willingness to perform ABDL. She’d been a diaper lover for as long as she could remember, and with its recent rise in popularity, she was in the perfect place at the right time to strike gold. Commercial spots soon turned into internet stardom, which eventually led to her becoming a household name almost as synonymous with ABDL as the likes of even the CrissBaby Diaper Company. It was only a matter of time before her efforts lead to something she’d always dreamed of, hosting her own game show!
Taking a deep breath, Cassi waited for the production manager to count her in on her camera before saying, “To everyone watching at home, welcome to DiapOut! The most extreme ABDL game show on television! While our team of production caregivers gets the eight excited contestants ready for today’s show, let me explain how DiapOut works!”
The light above the camera went dark as a prerecorded package of Cassi explaining the game played on, giving her the chance to step off the stage and take a sip of water from a baby bottle. Since she was still in view of the audience, she wasn’t allowed to feed herself, so it was someone’s job on set to be her stand-by bottle feeder. Members of the audience were shushed by production as they couldn’t help but shower her with “oohs” and “ahhs.”
“Two teams will compete head-to-head in a series of challenges racking up as many points as possible. After three rounds, the points will be tallied, and the winning team will move on to the final round where they have the chance to take home cash, prizes, and more! The contestants had better be careful, though, or they could wind up with some serious punishments, perhaps even becoming diaper-dependent forever! Use of bathrooms during the course of the game is strictly prohibited. And, of course, if any contestant messes themself…”
“...That’s a DiapOut!” responded the enthusiastic audience.
Rushing back to her mark, Cassi smiled and waited as the production manager counted her down before the light on the camera came back on. “Now that everyone knows how DiapOut is played, we’re ready to start the show!” she said, resulting in another round of applause, “But before we bring out our blushy contestants, we have a quick word from our sponsors!” The camera light went out again as a series of brand names and products popped up on screen. While the audience was enraptured by the latest in ABDL from the likes of CrissBaby, Rearz, and more, Cassi hastily moved to her private off-stage area, allowing her personal team of stylists to quickly touch her up and check her wardrobe. “That was perfect, don’t you think girls?” she asked, leading to a choir of affirming voices coming from her gathered entourage. An assistant came up to her, holding out a binky for her. She graciously opened her mouth and let her assistant gently slide the pacifier into her mouth. “Jus chu wait, as soon as dis episode aiws, I wiww be da biggest diapewed cewebwity on da pwanet.”
-------------------------------------------------------------
Sitting in the green room and bouncing her leg, Mia was already filled with regret for agreeing to take part in this. Ever since Ayaya-Girl’s little New Year’s video of her went viral, Mia had unwittingly become a minor abdl celebrity of sorts. While many could only dream of being recognized on the street, it was a lot less glamorous when what you’re known for is filling your diaper while wearing a Baby New Year sash.
Over the past several months, multiple different diaper brands and talent agents had reached out to her to see if she wanted to try and make something of her fifteen minutes of fame. And every time they did, her answer was always the same, “I’d rather jump off a cliff than wear another diaper for as long as I live.”
Mia’s diaper celibacy would come to a screeching halt when the person who had doomed her to this fate, Ayaya, re-entered her life with an offer that was too good to turn down. “There’s a new game show that’s looking for contestants for its very first episode and they think you and me are the perfect candidates!” said the fame-hungry streamer. She didn’t dare expose the truth that they only wanted her if Mia agreed to join in as well.
Initially, Mia wanted to slam the door in Ayaya’s face. Even after explaining to Ayaya that what she did to her damaged her professional reputation for life, she still didn’t understand the consequences of her actions. Someone with that shallow of a mindset could not be trusted. However, when Ayaya mentioned the $500,000 prize that was being given out during the flagship episode, she couldn’t resist that kind of offer. Besides, it was just some dumb TV game show. How bad could it be?
Fast forward to the present day and Mia came to find out exactly how bad things were going to get for her. “This is your uniform for the show. Please let someone know if you need any help getting changed,” said the tightly-wound stage manager who handed off a yellow t-shirt and a large, white diaper with the logo for DiapOut printed boldly on the rear.
Having already signed a contract to do the show, Mia had no choice but to comply with production’s demands. That was unless she wanted to buy her way out of the contract, which she knew she couldn’t afford. Like it or not, she found herself locked into diapers yet again. The only solace she took from any of this was that Ayaya had to be diapered with her.
“Hey, bitches! Check me out!” announced Ayaya as she exited the dressing room wearing the same shirt and diaper that Mia had in her hands, “At first, I wasn’t sure about this but it’s surprisingly comfy and kinda sexy.” She playfully wiggled and smacked her padded butt, snickering as a puff of white baby powder shot out from the waistband.
Rushing over to join Ayaya, Lelaya was beyond thrilled to see one of her besties in a fluffy diaper. “Oh my Goddess, you look totes cute! I told you you’d go ga-ga for diapers if you tried them,” she said as she pulled the padded streamer into a hug. As she broke away from the embrace, she looked around before calling out toward the dressing room, “Misa, I know you’re dressed! I diapered you myself! Get your booty out here!”
“I don’t wanna,” shouted Misa, her voice echoing out of the changing room. Rolling her eyes, Lelaya charged forward and entered the bathroom as Misa continued to protest, “This is so fricking stupid. I’m not doing…h-hey…let go of me, Lelaya!” Seconds later, the duo emerged from the bathroom, with Misa’s wrist held firmly in Lelaya’s shockingly strong grip. Her cheeks were boiling with how embarrassed she was to be dressed in such a ridiculous manner.
For Mia, she couldn’t recall the last time that Misa had been this visibly flustered. “Oh, wow, not having so much fun now that you have to wear them, are you?” she jabbed, well aware that in less than a minute, she’d be taping herself into a diaper too. Sighing, she held her head high and walked toward the changing room. Just knowing that Misa was going to be more miserable than she was gave her the power to overcome her own embarrassment. “Welp, time to get this over with.”
Mia was stopped in her tracks suddenly when Lelaya switched targets. “Ooh! Is it time for you to change into your diapee, cuz I can like totally help with that!” said the diaper-loving fashionista. Without waiting for an answer she barged in, dragging Mia along with her.
“N-no, no, really! You don’t have to-HEY! Give me back my panties!” screamed Mia, her voice now replacing Misa’s as Lelaya diligently got to work.
Much like Mia, Misa found her confidence through her friend’s humiliation. Misery loves company, after all. If she was going to be seen on television in diapers, then she’d have to make damn sure that Mia and the others stood out far more than she did, even if it meant getting her hands dirty.
“Everyone! Get in here and gather around!” All of a sudden, Ayaya and Misa’s attention was captured by a troop of young adults who took it upon themselves to be as loud as possible when entering the green room, cheering and hollering as they pumped themselves up. Each of the college-aged loudmouths had on the same t-shirt and diaper combo that the girls did, only their shirts were brown instead of yellow. Misa and Ayaya perked up in their seats as they caught a first glimpse at the competition.
Huddling into a small circle with their arms around each other shoulders, it was the only girl in the group who spoke up, “Alright, stunk butts, listen up! We’re stepping into the spotlight today. After this, everyone on campus is going to know we are babs and proud, so let’s show go ‘em how spectacular the West Edmonton Tech Diaper Lovers Club really is!”
A chorus of cheers followed the girl’s inspiring speech. They proceeded to take turns smacking each other on their diapered rumps as if they were football players getting hyped up in a locker room.
All the while, Misa and Ayaya could only watch on in idle horror. Leaning over to Ayaya’s ear, Misa cautiously whispered, “What…the fuck?”

About the V-day event.
+ We have 3 free outfits, each of of them has some nice elements, and while I think that only the first one looks good as a whole outfit, I will be hard fighting for every last piece.
+ the bank outfit, finally not an armor. A detailed, pretty one, worthy of paying a real money if you still want to support the company
+ a simple (albeit boring) game, that allows everyone to take part in event and win prizes. It doesn't require much time, skills, even good connection. Lord, I have seen today Crystals disappearing from screen at 0.25 speed and it was a surreal feeling.
+duration of event is IMHO decent
+ we got a story. I think it is much nicer to get some kind of lore or scenario, than being throw right into "snaaaake game" and then at the end of event "you done, here is your illu". I know we won't get separated story for our LIs, but it's still some effort.
Speaking of effort, the lowest possible, right? My constant problem with Beemoov is that they either do not know what their target wants (unique illus and dialogues for each LI) or that they do not understand correlation betwen happy players and company's profit. Lots of players dropped Eldarya like rotten potato the moment Beemoov stopped caring. I won't be playing next Beemoov's game because they make strange decisions and never learn from their mistakes, but also because they do not care for ending huge project with some spark:
-ONE ILLU in the last year of Eldarya. Why don't end your game with bang, why end it with sad "Wah wah wah waaaaaaaahhh"? Why not giving us something that will keep us excited for next project? Show us some new feature that you can use in next game? That you are improving? Why reusing same old things?
-I know that some players are collecting familiars. I know that some players could join this trainwreck of game just before event, so this is their first chance to get a nice familiar for free, but FFS, I want something new for filling the server bar. It's the same, old familiar thing, and they started looking like reboots of older ones. Why don't you give us (like in wedding MCL episode) a sprite of our LI to put near Gardienne? Look how popular they are on MCL! Are you waiting for last episode with this, or did you decided it's too much romance, and Eldarya is not about romance? Why not background item, like in MCL? Something fresh, that would wake us up?
-Illu. Not only it's a single group illu. It's bad. Mathieu's forehead (it looks like he has none), Erika's face, whatever happened with Leiftan. It's not fresh. The concept was reused, and if you play MCL it's the third time you get similar illu. THIRD.
TLDR: I play Eldarya for outfits, so I am happy with this event, but still amazed how Beemoov cannot into games and pleasing its players. Look at MCL, look at Eldarya. Beemoov will survive because we still throw money at them, but to be true- they shouldn't. They shouldn't. They will never improve.

HELENA - TROUBLES OF FAME
Tumblr media
During a routine patrol, Helena and Brynn were working together to sort out the crowds that were blocking the road.
Helena: Why are there so many people on the streets today? Brynn: Do you not know? A rock singer is hosting a concert at the stadium today. Brynn: Sadly, I didn’t get a ticket. Otherwise, you’d be on patrol today with someone else. Helena: --I see! No wonder you were so enthusiastic and offered to accompany me! Brynn: Even if I can’t get in, I can still listen to it from outside. Helena: Alright, fine. I know you have a passion for rock music… Everyone, could you please keep clear of the evacuation route!
People were coming and going near the stadium entrance. Helena shrugged, and was going to pull Brynn across the street to the less crowded side.
But at that moment, an excited voice emerged from the crowd.
Female Fan: Helena… Is that Helena? Helena: Yes… You know me? Female Fan: Are you really Helena? Hostess of that podcast? Female Fan: Wow-- No wonder you sound familiar! I listen to every episode of your town stories! Helena: Th--thanks for say* that!
*actual text
Helena: I never thought I’d meet a fan out on the street… Brynn: Haha, Helena, you are famous now!
Brynn poked Helena with her elbow while smiling.
Brynn: All that hard work has finally paid off, hasn’t it? Helena: It’s not a big deal. Compared to other famous figures in the Union, I’m just getting started… I’m still a rookie. Brynn: Don’t worry, you’ve worked hard, so you deserve to be where you are today! I’ve witnessed every step of your journey. Brynn: By the way, will you talk about this on the podcast today? Brynn: Let your listeners know that “Wow, Helena could be right next to me”, it should make for good content! Helena: Hm… I’ll think about it…
Before Helena had a chance to ponder, her thoughts were interrupted by a voice beside her.
Male Fan: Hey, isn’t that Brynn…? I’m not dreaming, am I? Brynn: Huh? Male Fan: Oh my god, it’s Brynn! I, uh… I’ve seen your concert! Male Fan: Can I get an autograph? Or a photo with you! Female Fan: I want one too! I didn’t bring a tape recorder with me, otherwise I could have recorded every word you said- Helena: Uh, no, no… Wait, everyone, wait a minute, we’re Union members, and we’re on a mission! Helena: This is an official matter, and you can't take pictures. Erm… Maybe if you wait until our mission is over…
However, due to the commotion caused by the fans, the surrounding audience slowly gathered towards the two.
Some of them were even saying things like: “The podcast host?” “I know that rock singer!”.
Brynn: Hey… this is not good. If we get stuck here with the crowd, we won’t be able to patrol!
Faced with a swarm of people, Brynn and Helena slowly retreated backwards.
Brynn: We have to find a way to get out from this throng. Helena: I’m thinking, I’m thinking! Helena: …How about this, Brynn. when* I say “run”, you run to the left, And** I’ll dash off to the right!
*actual text **actual text
Helena: We have to split up, got it? If we stay together, these fans will swarm around us, and we’ll be stuck! Brynn: Guess we have no choice. We’ll rendezvous and continue the mission again later. Helena: Meeting up will be difficult. Let’s have a match, whoever ditches the fans first wins. Helena: The prize will be - the winner gets to continue the mission! Brynn: Excuse me? Helena: --Now, run!
With that signal, Helena dashed off and rushed down the street to the right, while Brynn turned around and disappeared into the crowd.
Female Fan: Helena, don’t go! I just want a picture-- just one! Helena: *Heavy sigh*...
Helena ran with a big smile on her face.
Helena: Thank you… Thank you so much for your support! I’m really touched! Helena: But… A photo… Maybe next time!

When You’re A Mystery Kid - Chapter 6: Gravity Falls Grand Prix
Summary: This is why prepubescent kids should not be allowed to have a race across the town.
Word Count: 4.105
-
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a repost.
Disclaimer: I only own the story and my OCs
“Do you really have to tinker with your bike every day?” the blue-haired girl asked, sitting on Wybie’s workbench.
“Jonesy, that’s like asking if a fish needs water.” Wybie replied from underneath his bike, still busy tinkering with it. “Besides, today’s a special day.”
“You going racing with the boys again?” she asked.
“Yep. And I’m going to win this time.” the boy replied.
“Really? After what happened last time?” Coraline asked with a teasing smile. She moved towards Wybie and knelt beside him, “You ate Raz’s dust, literally.”
“Last time didn’t count.” Wybie replied grouchily. He slid out from under the bike and moved to his workbench, starting to tinker with something on it.
“You’re just being a sore loser, why-were-you-born.” she teased, rising back to her feet.
“Hey, when someone brought psychic powers to a race, it’s not considered a race anymore.” Wybie said, still busy tinkering.
“Oh, stop whining, you baby. Raz didn’t mess you up that bad.” Coraline rolled her eyes.
Wordlessly, Wybie put his skull mask in Coraline’s view. Her eyes widened at the state of the mask; badly burnt on one side. “Okay, I guess he did go a little overboard with the fireballs.”
“A little?” Wybie casted a quick, annoyed glance.
“At least you came out fine, right?” Coraline said.
“Well, if that kid tries anything funny again, at least now I have a little something up my sleeve.” Wybie spoke with a mischievous grin, piquing Coraline’s interest.
“A little something up your sleeve?”
The boy moved away from his worktable, giving Coraline a clear view of the object he was tinkering with. Although taken aback for a few moments, a grin similar to Wybie’s quickly worked its way to the girl’s features.
“That is a big something up your sleeve.”
-
“Welcome, ladies and gentleman, to the most hair-raising, adrenaline-pumping, jaw-dropping race competition this dimension has and ever will witness; the Gravity Falls Grand Prix!” Mabel announced at the top her lungs, complete with over-the-top gestures, to the hilariously small crowd of Neil, Aggie, and Lili. Even then, Neil is the only one showing the same level of excitement as Mabel.
“Wooo!!” Neil shouted, clapping elatedly. Aggie has a cheerful smile on her face, while Lili looks bored out of her mind.
“Today, four fearless speed-freaks are going to give their all in a grueling, high-velocity contest for a chance to win the ultimate prize: the Mystery Trophy!” Mabel shouted, gesturing to a crudely-made trophy made out of cardboard.
“Check your math, scream queen.” Lili spoke, annoyance written across her features. “Make that three freaks.”
Mabel took a peek at the contestants lined up at the starting line and found that one of them is indeed missing. “Where’s Wybie?” she asked.
“I haven’t seen him since breakfast.” Norman said, sitting on his bike-motorcycle hybrid.
“I think he’s cooping himself up in the garage.” Dipper added, sitting on driver’s seat of the Mystery Cart.
“That little baby probably doesn’t want to go up against me anymore.” Raz stated with a smug smile, drawing annoyed groans from Norman and Dipper.
“Well, we can’t start the race without him.” Mabel pouted.
“I’m here!” A voice called out. Everyone turned towards the source, spotting Wybie with his bike beside him, Coraline tailing behind him.
Raz crossed his arms, a smug smirk on his face. “Well, it’s about time. I’m starting to think you’re backing out.”
“Oh, I have no intention of backing out.” Wybie spoke, sharing a mischievous grin with Coraline, drawing curious looks from the others. The two shared a quick fist bump before Coraline joined the spectators, while Wybie positioned his bike on the starting line.
“Hey, what’s that?” Dipper asked, pointing to some sort of container attached to the back seat of Wybie’s bike.
“Just a little something to help me win.” Wybie replied with a barely contained grin.
“Alright, now that everyone’s here, we can go on with the show!” Mabel beamed, switching back to her over-the-top announcer persona. “Contestants, time to explain how this supersonic showdown’s gonna go down!”
“This race is divided into three segments. First, the contestants will race from here, the Mystery Shack, across town and get to the junkyard. How you get there is completely up to you, the only rule here is you cannot directly hurt or hinder other contestants. That means, things like a psi-blast to the face, ” Mabel, along with everyone else, gave Raz a sharp glare, which he replied with sheepish chuckle, “is strictly forbidden. But, doing things like blocking your opponents’ path is fair game.”
“Once the contestants entered the junkyard, we move on to the second stage of the race. Here, the contestants will race around the junkyard to find a red flag, expertly hidden by yours truly.” Mabel gestured to herself, earning her eye rolls from everyone except for Neil and Aggie.
“If one of the contestants somehow managed to find the flag that I have hidden with extreme hideyness, then we immediately move on to the third and last stage of the race. In this stage, the contestants will race on a linear route from the junkyard to the “Welcome to Gravity Falls’ sign at the edge of town. But, here’s the catch; there will be absolutely no rules in this leg of the race, meaning contestants can steal the flag from other contestants and just pretty much go nuts on each other.”
A grin made its way to Raz’s features, and a very annoying one at that.
“First one to cross the finish line at the sign, with the flag in hand, will be declared the champion of the GRAVITY FALLS GRAND PRIX!!” Mabel exclaimed at the very top of her lungs, earning grimaces from the people around her.
Mabel took a deep, deep breath, before continuing. “Alrighty then, gentleman, start your engines!”
Recovering from Mabel’s screech, three engines roared to life one by one, while a swirling ball of psychic energy formed underneath Raz’s feet, suspending him in midair. A look of fierce determination made its way to each of the contestants’ features. Even Norman, who took part only because of the urging of his friends (*cough*Aggie*cough*), wore that competitive look.
“Ready!” Mabel exclaimed, pointing her grappling hook into the sky.
The sounds of engines revving filled the air, while the swirls on Raz’s psi-ball spun faster by the second.
“Set!” Mabel placed a finger on trigger, careful not to fire it too early.
The competitive spirit can be felt even among the spectators. Neil, Aggie, and Coraline are trying to outdo each other in their cheers. Even Lili now looks mildly interested.
“GO!”
Mabel’s hook flew to the sky, and in almost the same moment, the four racers are propelled forward, the tires of their vehicles (or psi-ball, in Raz’s case) spewing out muck and dirt behind them. The four sped out of sight, accompanied by the cheers of their friends from the sidelines. Once they are well out of sight, the cheers slowly died down, except for Neil’s, who kept clapping on excitedly.
However, he eventually stopped when Mabel’s hook returned from the sky.
“Owww…” Neil groaned, rubbing the top of his head.
Mabel grimaced. “Sorry, Neil.”
-
Wybie turned left hard, cutting the sidewalk by a few inches, eliciting a yelp from a nearby pedestrian. Behind him, Dipper emerged from the same corner, all four tires squealing as he drifted into the turn. The twelve year old almost crashed the cart into a pedestrian on the sidewalk, but he managed to regain control at the last second, quickly hot on Wybie’s tail once again.
Wybie took a glance behind him, smirking. “That heap of junk ain’t built for racing, disco girl!”
An irritated look flashed across Dipper’s features for a second, but it’s quickly replaced by a smirk of his own. “At least I won’t turn into a ragdoll if I crash into that truck, blabber mouth!”
Alarmed, Wybie faced forward again, finding that there is an actual truck backing out into the road. He swerved to the right, narrowly missing the truck. Regaining himself from the near collision, Wybie silently berated himself for his carelessness, before twisting the throttle hard. His bike reacted accordingly, sending him speeding down the road.
An intersection came into sight ahead, and Wybie quickly decided that he would turn right ahead. As he took the turn, a red bike-motorcycle hybrid carrying a spiky haired boy suddenly zoomed past him. Out of shock, Wybie briefly lost control of his bike, but he quickly regained control. The spiky haired boy in front of him took a quick glance at Wybie, the edge of his lips curled into a tiny smirk. Wybie was genuinely surprised by that gesture.
Norman, of all people, just challenged him. And, with a grin and a hard twist at the throttle, Wybie gladly accepted.
Bit by bit, Wybie began to catch up to Norman, until eventually, they are neck and neck.
“You should know,” Wybie spoke, eyeballs darting towards Norman, “I haven’t tweaked that thing for a while.”
“Oh, don’t you worry,” Norman replied, returning Wybie’s gaze, “I’ve been tweaking it myself.”
“Really?” Wybie smirked. “Well, guess that explains why you’re so slow.”
“Hey guys!” Dipper shouted, behind them by a few feet. “Don’t forget about me!”
“We still remember you, Dipper!” Norman shouted back, sharing a mischievous smile with Wybie.
“Yeah, as the kid stuck in last place!” Wybie added, chuckling afterwards. Dipper simply grumbled silently in reply.
At the end of the street, the entrance of the junkyard came into view. The sight brought determined smiles to all three of them. Wybie’s smile in particular grew larger, as he slowly but surely took the lead. Wybie is now leading by a tire, and his smile just kept on growing.
Until he heard someone shouting from above him.
Out of the sky, Raz suddenly landed in front of them, the impact his psi-ball made shattering a rather large area of the concrete road. Wybie and Norman quickly swerved left and right, driving around the cracks to avoid getting thrown off their bikes. Behind them, Dipper braced himself as the ride became a little bumpy for the next few seconds.
Once they passed that, they are greeted by an all-too familiar face wearing an all-too familiar grin. The psychic is even floating backwards, as if to mock them even further.
“Hey, that was cheating!” Wybie yelled out.
“No it’s not. How am I supposed to know the road is going to break when I land on it?” Raz reasoned, but the lopsided grin on his features made it quite clear that he knew full well of what he did. The psychic turned back towards the junkyard, and gave himself a psychic boost to zoom past the entrance. The other three, irritated, wasted no time in following the psychic inside.
Once they are inside, the second leg of the race officially began; the hunt for the red flag. Raz is already scouring the junkyard for the flag, deftly maneuvering between the heaps of scrap thanks to his highly adaptable psi-ball. However, even though the others’ vehicles are only limited to one form, that doesn’t mean that they will give up so easily. The three split up, each searching for the flag using their own methods. Dipper, being the one using the largest vehicle, searched at a slow but steady pace, carefully observing every nook and cranny from afar since he can only stick to the larger paths. Norman’s method is similar to Dipper’s, steadily searching in every corner, with just a few bursts of speed in between. But, since his vehicle is smaller than Dipper’s, he can tread in paths that Dipper could never take. As for Wybie, his method involves him racing around the junkyard at high speed, eyes darting left and right in a frantic search for the flag. Whatever their method is, each one of them is certain that they will be the one to find the flag.
A full ten minutes passed, yet the flag remains unfound. After completing what must’ve been his hundredth lap around the junkyard, Wybie began to grow weary. His focus is decreasing after constantly squinting his eyes at his surroundings, the heat of the summer sun is making him sweat profusely, and his bottom is feeling sore after riding so long on an uneven surface. Eventually, Wybie pulled the brake pedal, coming to a full stop next to Dipper. From the looks of it, the twelve year old is also growing tired of the search.
“Man, when your sister said she hid it well, I never thought it’s going to be well-hidden in our standards too.” Wybie said, wiping some sweat from his forehead.
“Same here.” Dipper grumbled, his face buried into the steering wheel. “To be honest, I was kinda half-expecting for her to ‘hide’ the flag at the entrance gate.”
A dry chuckle escaped Wybie’s mouth as he straightened his legs, trying to work off the soreness all over his lower body. “Man, I really wish I have my mask right now.” he moaned. The magnifying glass he added to it would’ve been a huge help in finding the flag.
In the distance, he can hear engine noises and scrap metal being tossed around, meaning that Norman and Raz are still searching. Groaning, he forced himself to twist the throttle once again, propelling himself forward and leaving Dipper with his face still buried in the steering wheel.
He continued his search at a much slower pace this time, taking the time to carefully observe the piles of junk around him in search of that elusive red flag. His more cautious method seems to bear fruit, as he spotted a path he never noticed before. The path is incredibly narrow, pitted by two huge junk piles. It is so narrow in fact, that Wybie’s bike can barely fit through. Nevertheless, the boy continued onwards, carefully of course, lest he accidentally knock one of the junk out of its place and be buried under several tons of scrap metal. He looked left and right as he travels down the narrow path, but it seems the flag is not here either. A disappointed sigh escaped his lips, thinking that going down this path is just a waste of time.
Until he turned his gaze upwards.
Hanging several feet above the path before him, is a wreckage of a car. And sticking out of the car’s exhaust pipe, hung a small red flag.
A chuckle of both joy and disbelief came from Wybie’s mouth at the sight. He briefly wondered on how on earth did Mabel managed to place the flag all the way up there, before wondering on how on earth is he supposed to retrieve the flag from all the way up there. However, he noticed a piece of scrap metal further along the path that is positioned into a crude ramp, and perfectly placed so that someone can launch off the ramp to get the flag.
It’s far too perfect for it to be a coincidence.
Silently thanking Mabel for the help, Wybie twisted the throttle as hard as he can, speeding down the path as fast as the bike can take him. He launched off the ramp, stretching an arm upwards as he neared the flag. He snatched the red flag from the exhaust pipe, and a huge grin immediately formed on his face. He successfully landed his bike on the ground, and continued speeding until he is out of the narrow path.
He came to a full stop, taking some time to swallow the stunt he just pulled. He looked down to see the red flag he held in his hand, and an overjoyed feeling quickly crept up to him.
“I got it!” he yelled out, raising the flag to the sky. But, just a second later, Wybie immediately realized the stupidity of what he just done. His voice must’ve been heard throughout the junkyard, and already he can hear engine sounds converging on him.
“Aw, crud.”
He twisted the throttle hard, speeding as fast as he can towards the exit, or at least towards where he thought the exit is. He turned left and right, now in search of a way out of the junkyard. As he rounded a random corner, he was met with the sight of Norman and Dipper speeding straight towards him. A silent curse escaped his lips, quickly turning around to go back the way he came. Now with two people hot on his tail, Wybie is more frantic than ever to find the exit. Fortunately, since Dipper’s cart is much heavier that Wybie’s bike and Norman’s bike still requires a bit of pedaling to get the engine running, Wybie managed to stay ahead for most of the time.
Wybie rounded yet another random corner, and to his infinite relief, the exit is right in front of him. He gleefully sped out of the junkyard, with Norman and Dipper following close behind, initiating the third and last leg of the race. As if on cue, golf balls are pelted at Wybie from behind, courtesy of both Dipper and Norman. It seems Dipper found some golf balls inside one of the many hidden compartments aboard the Mystery Cart, which he then gave to Norman so the medium can shoot them at Wybie with his slingshot.
“You’re ganging up on me?! Seriously?!” Wybie shrieked, swerving left and right to try to dodge some of the golf balls.
“Anything goes now, Lovat.” Norman grinned as he fired off another golf ball, managing to hit the hand that Wybie is using to hold the flag.
The flag came very close to slipping out of Wybie’s hand, but the boy managed to regain his grip around the flag. Wybie took a glance behind him, his eyes focused on the container attached to his bike, and his mind briefly wandered to its contents. The item he stored inside is sure to take both Norman and Dipper out and win him the race.
“No, not yet, Wybie. Not yet.” He muttered, choosing to endure the (relatively) harmless pelting of golf balls instead. A ball struck his ear, and he simply sighed, “At least Raz’s not around.”
As the three sped down the road, the buildings at the side of the road are gradually replaced by trees, until eventually they are completely replaced by rows and rows of trees. That could only mean they are getting close to the finish line, much to Wybie’s joy. Eventually, a right turn came into sight ahead, and a grin formed on Wybie’s lips. He’s not very familiar with the roads in Gravity Falls, but he knew that after that turn, it was just a straight line to the finish line, the ‘Welcome to Gravity Falls’ sign.
Wybie entered the turn, certain that victory is within his grasp.
Until he heard a bellow from above.
“Look out below!”
Judging from the last time he heard a shout from above him today, he instantly knew something bad is about to happen.
Raz landed right next to him, sending a psychic shockwave at every direction, knocking the flag out of Wybie’s hand, which Raz quickly took hold. Raz landed so close to Wybie in fact, that the shockwave threw both Wybie and his bike into the air and out of the road.
Still in midair, panic starts to set in for the young mechanic, until he realized, this is the perfect time for his ‘little something’ to take the spotlight. He opened the container at the back of his bike, and he reached inside with his left hand. He withdrew his left hand, now covered all the way to his elbow with a black-colored box-shaped contraption with a gleaming metal spear tip at the end. He pointed his left hand at a nearby tree, and the spear tip fired off towards the tree, leaving a thin wire connecting the tip to the contraption. The tip embedded itself to the tree, and once the wire tensed, the centrifugal force propelled him back into the road.
The boy landed right between Dipper and Norman, eliciting a surprised shriek from the two.
“You- wha- how-?!” Norman stuttered, shocked beyond words.
Wybie grinned in reply as the wire reels back into the contraption, with the spear tip eventually reattaching itself to the contraption.
Dipper narrowed his eyes at the gadget covering Wybie’s left arm. “Is that a-?”
“Arm spear!” Wybie finished, giving a proud gaze to the gadget he spent three sleepless days finishing. He turned his gaze forward, eyes narrowed on the psychic ahead, smugly waving the red flag around thinking that his victory is certain. He didn’t even notice Wybie’s rather grand return to the race.
With a hard twist at the throttle, Wybie surged ahead of Dipper and Norman. The two simply shared an amused smile, content to let Wybie win the race after seeing the insane stunt he just pulled. Wybie inched closer and closer to Raz, but overtaking the psychic is not what he had in mind. He pointed his arm spear at the psychic and, with the pull of a trigger concealed inside the contraption, fired off the spear tip.
Wires wrapped around the legs of the oblivious Psychonaut, finally stopping his pre-victory celebration. Before Raz can react, Wybie gave the wires a hard pull. The pull made him lose his grip on the flag, and threw him backwards. Wybie flashed Raz a sly grin as the psychic passed him, catching the red flag with his right hand. Raz flew past Dipper and Norman before he used his powers to land safely. Even then, he can only stare dumbfounded by the sudden turn of events. He then let out a sigh, accepting his defeat. Nevertheless, he reformed his psi-ball and sped off to catch up to his friends.
With the flag in hand, the finish line coming in sight ahead, and his arm spear ready should anyone try to overtake him, victory is guaranteed for Wybie. He looked back, finding Norman, Dipper, and Raz behind him. The three smiled at him, as if giving him their blessing to win the race. Wybie smiled back, silently thanking them, before twisting the throttle for one last push to the finish line.
However, as the four got closer to the ‘Welcome To Gravity Falls’ sign, Wybie, along with the other three, noticed something odd on the sign. Wybie crossed the finish line first, as expected, with Norman the second, Dipper the third, and Raz coming in fourth. However, there were no cheers, no celebration, no victory dances. The four braked to a full stop, abandoned their vehicles, and gathered in front of the sign.
They stared at it, the race and its outcome completely forgotten by them.
“Is that…?” Dipper said, tilting his head to the side.
Across the sign, there are burnt marks crudely made to the shape of an upside-down smiley face. The burnt marks looks fresh, with tiny embers still lit and sizzling sound emanating from it.
“Who made this?” Raz wondered, looking around to find someone that could’ve made the face.
The four stared at the face in silence for the next few minutes, before Wybie broke the silence by asking, “Guys, am I the only one getting-“
“No, you’re not.” Norman answered, already knowing what the boy is going to ask.
He felt it. They all felt it. Staring at the burnt smiley face, they somehow felt that feeling. A feeling that sent chills down their spine.
An ominous and menacing aura, one that made their hair stand on end.
-
Such ending. Much ominous. Very foreshadowing. Wow.
So, I hope that ending doesn’t ruin the wacky fun stuff the Kids did in this chapter too much. And if you guys think that ending was a bit abrupt well… I meant for it to be, cuz whoever/whatever did it was not quite right in the head.
Also, the reveal of Wybie’s Signature(ish): his Arm Spear! Quite a Zelda fan, aren’t you Wybie? Well, to be honest, that’s not the… final form of his Signature. First, something unspeakably horrible has to happen to him first, then he’ll get his full Signature! Sounds fair, right?
And for next week, since you guys asked for it, MK Plays Video Games! What game would it be? Check in next week to find out!

vent about having my accomplishments undermined
just feeling melancholy today about smth that happened literally 12 years ago, that has ended up still sticking with me today. it kinda sent me on this spiral of thinking about other scenarios like it and how often ive been trapped with people who treat me like this.
see, back in 2012, i went to my first and only ever convention. I've never gone to another mostly bc ive struggled financially all my life and can't afford the tickets for such a social luxury that im too anxious to even properly enjoy. but, its also bc of how... conflicting my first experience was. there was a panel for pokemon fans basically, which my friends was excited to bring me to, and during this panel, they held a tiny little drawing contest. it was like, you got small dry erase boards, and 15 seconds to draw the pokemon described. being an artist and also young (still in high school), i was super pumped to volunteer for it- i have always had very extreme stage fright, as evidenced by me being red as hell and sweating the whole time, but i powered through that for the sake of having fun in my Element. the final challenge was a 60 second chance to doodle mewtwo, and this was right when the y mega was revealed so i went with that, and the crows went insane. i won the contest, by a landslide, and it was such a genuinely amazing and unbelievable moment in my life. it was just a stupid local 15 second drawing contest with a small crowd of people, but hearing everyone be so excited about my art was so. just incredible.
but... afterwards... the friend who brought me there, while i was excited and celebrating that id actually, yknow, won something for the first time in my life, instead just. told me "well it wasnt really fair bc those other people weren't actually real artists like you are"
and that completely took the wind out of my sails. it crushed me. i felt like i had cheated, like i had stolen a victory from people more deserving, and that i should've never have raised my hand to begin with. id won a little prize from it but couldn't even feel all that happy about it. i felt like i didnt deserve it. i felt like people were mad at me for being decent at art
12 years, and that experience has still stuck with me. i remembered it bc my job is doing this funny little "daily stretching" challenge, and i was going to sign up for it bc i already stretch all throughout my work day, but i ended up holding myself back. bc i thought, well, is it really fair when i already do this as a daily habit? this challenge is to get people who don't stretch often to do it more, and reward them for it. would it be right to reward someone who doesn't need the extra push?
so i didn't. i thought itd be unfair. i thought people would be mad at me if i won bc i have such an advantage already.
and its just sent me down this spiral of remembering all the times ex-friends and past abusers have done this. how I've never been able to just feel proud of myself or happy that ive accomplished something or that im even just decent and capable at whatever the thing is. i can't talk about my meta-raised pokemon bc it isn't impressive when meta specialized mons plow through things. i can't talk about my art getting big numbers bc it isn't impressive when you bandwagon something and it gets spread around bc of that. i can't talk about defeating a tough monster in monhun bc its just my leveled up equipment carrying me. I'm not allowed to be good at anything, bc I'm either just cheating or i dont deserve the win bc i work harder than others. and me winning makes everyone mad that they didn't win instead
so i just accepted being a loser. being stupid. being bad at everything. bc it was easier to be a loser and let my friends always beat me at everything than to make a loser out of my friends, even though i was never trying to compete to begin with, i just wanted to have fun. but I'm not allowed to have fun bc me having fun makes other people upset and mad. and that sucks. id rather just lose. then everyone else can be happy
but. yknow. obviously that's not healthy. and what it ended up leading to was me just, isolating. i didn't wanna show my art to people anymore, i didn't wanna play games with anyone, i didn't want anyone to see me and be negatively affected by my existence. so i just started doing things by myself, and trying to live off self-sustained validation and happiness. and there is some merit to learning how to validate yourself and make yourself happy, but it shouldn't come at the cost of your ability to socialize entirely.
bc the problem was never with me. it was the people i was surrounded by. bc real friends talk you up, cheer you on, and celebrate your accomplishments. they dont see themselves as losers just bc you've won, they see themselves as teammates who have won simply bc you're happy. they don't make life a competition. that's how friendships are supposed to be. it was never about there being something wrong with me. i wasn't the problem
