hiya could i get a good ol hero/villain couple relaxing together after a long day? Helping with each others wounds, cuddling etc? <3
Home at last
Hero swung open the door lazily, they were instantly greeted by the smell of their partner's cooking embracing their surroundings.
"Home at last." The hero exasperated as they stumbled into the kitchen.
Hero leaned against the kitchen counter and watched as villain carefully chopped a few vegetables into precise slices. Villain was quite skilled with a knife, due to their occupation of choice.
"Welcome home dear!" Villain chimed with concentration, not taking their eyes off of the tomato in front of them. Hero glanced over toward the stovetop and noticed the frying pan quietly sizzling beside villain.
"What's this?" Inquired the hero excitedly, despite already knowing the answer. The villain looked up at Hero with a smile as they slid the tomato slices to the side using the knife.
"I'm making burgers!" Villain grinned, gesturing towards the frying pan. It's contents were 4 medium sized patties.
"Ah how wonderful!" Hero exclaimed, attempting to take a step forward before wincing in pain. Immediately, Hero fell back into their original spot.
Villain's eyes widened as they lowered the heat on the stovetop and hastily made their way to Hero. "Goodness me, what happened?" Asked villain as they kneeled down to inspect the hero's leg.
Hero and Villain shared a fairly small apartment with one another, two bedrooms and one bathroom. With a touch of eachother's personalities it created for quite the cozy atmosphere. Pillows were featured in every corner of the home, allowing for either one to collapse safely just about anywhere.
"I'm fine, it's just a.." Hero looked down at their leg with a puzzled expression. "Actually I'm not quite sure." Mumbled the hero sheepishly. Their uniform covered their entire body quite well, and Hero hadn't really put any thought into checking out the injury.
The villain carefully rolled up Hero's tights to their knee, carefully studying the hero's calf. "Well, there are certainly bruises." Villain mumbled before looking back up at the hero.
"I think it's a sprain. I'm not sure though. How does it feel when you walk?" the villain inquired, meeting eyes with the hero.
"Uhm.. It hurts I guess." Hero shrugged, not knowing how else to explain it. It was a good thing that the hero wasn't a healer, for they had never paid attention in health class when they were younger.
"I'm going to assume it's a sprain then." Villain sighed before returning the hero's suit to how it was and rising to their feet. "I'll go get you an ice pack, stay put so I can help you to the couch." Announced the villain as they turned to open the freezer door.
"No, no, I can walk there myself. Please don't burden yourself with my own troubles." Hero replied, using the countertops as a support as they attempted to exit the kitchen.
Villain turned around and gently placed a calloused hand on Hero's shoulder. "It would be no burden, my love. I just want to see you happy and healthy." Expressed the villain, watching as the worry in Hero's face morphed into a sense of reassurance.
Villain ushered Hero to the couch with care in each step, making sure not to hurt the hero any more. As Hero slowly allowed themselves to fall into the cushions, Villain pulled up the footrest for them.
"I'll finish dinner and grab that ice for you, you need to rest." Villain whispered as they carefully planted a soft kiss on their partner's cheek. Hero looked at the villain with loving eyes and a warm smile.
"I appreciate you." Hero declared as Villain stepped away from them.
"Anything for you." The villain replied, looking at the hero as they started towards the kitchen.
Shortly after this, the villain returned with an ice pack and a spare blanket. The care that the hero's former nemesis was now giving them melted the hero's heart. They felt so safe and cared for, which wasn't a feeling the hero was very used to. It was refreshing, and a beautiful feeling to finally be able to feel.
As soon as the villain finished cooking and constructing the burgers, they stepped out of the kitchen with two plates. One plate was in each hand, and Villain was managing it quite well. The villain was always proud of their balance, and the hero always admired it.
"Are you feeling any better?" Asked the villain with a warm smile. Villain slid a plate onto the hero's lap and gingerly took a seat beside them.
"You always make me feel better." Hero hummed with a goofy grin as they rested their head on their partner's shoulder.
"Of course I do." The villain teased as they allowed their own head to sit on top of the hero's.
The pair proceeded to spend the rest of the night surfing the TV channels for any sort of news that didn't seem to involve either of them. In the end they finally decided to settle for an old action movie that brought back nostalgia for each of them.
It was a pleasant night.

i think a movie was a good choice for reze's arc!!! i'm literally so excited to see her & denji be whacky on the big screen <3 plus I hope this means good things for the animation overall cuz the anime was gorgeous and there are some really epic moments in reze's arc that i cannot wait to see translated into film. also what a choice to call it reze's arc, bc like yes it is, but also... this is denji's story. they're all his arcs. to me its a good way of reinforcing the ideas surrounding how denji is controlled by his desire for love & the people he chases in pursuit of that love <3 (though also it would be spoilers i guess to show reze and then call it bomb devil arc lol. it serves multiple purposes. to me.) anyways yippee! now we just wait for season two announcement!!

The cool thing about a horror movie that takes place in a mental hospital and, shockingly, actually turns out to be on the side of mentally ill people is that it avoids all the common disgusting pitfalls of mocking, demonizing, and infantilizing mentally ill people.

i think i've finally come to understand why i'm so bad at communicating with friends 👍 at one point or another i've thought i was in love with every single person i've ever been friends with (for the most part, at least) because i don't expect other people to like me. OBVIOUSLY this is not true but platonic feelings are not dissimilar to romantic ones (baseline they're the same: you want to love and be loved by someone) but i always end up realizing that i'm not in love with them, just that they matter to me very much and i wouldn't know what do to w/o their presence in my life. BUT this brings me to facet number 2 of my awful communication skills: i hate it when things Get Real. i find myself retreating any time it seems like Something Could Change in my day-to-day life due to them being around and "forcing" the change. i run away from talking to one of my only irl friends on almost a daily basis bc i dread the idea of having to do anything she might want me to do. i think, at the end of the day, my problem might just be that i don't want to change... ANYWAYS
#i actually think the funniest example of this comes from the irl guy friend i think i actually DO have romantic feelings for#i never used to have feelings for him but i always kind of nursed the idea of such a thing (as i said i think i could be in love with most#friends before i realize i'm not - but with him specifically i never had a moment where i realized i... wasn't?) also my previously#aforementioned irl friend kind of insinuated he might have feelings for me or we might end up with one another and now every time i think#abt him i think about THAT so.#anyways a few years ago he came by my house and picked me up and we got ice cream and talked for hours bc we have a lot in common#and he actually manages to keep in contact with me despite how hard it is (how hard i make it) to talk to me on a consistent basis lol#like we don't talk a LOT but he's also the one who convinced me to contact my former other irl best friend that i hadn't talked to in 6 yrs#anyways back to what i was talking abt from a few years ago... it was 4 yrs ago at this point but after the ice cream - i got a job#and we talked a lot - he took me and my irl bff out but she had a HUGE fight with her bf and he tracked her down and it was. a disaster#but after that they made up (lucikly she broke up with him not too long after lmao) but me and him were put in the middle of it#and anyways we went to the mall with the annoying couple LMAO but we broke off and it was just... really nice to be with him?#and then we went to walmart and rented a movie and went back to my irl's apartment and i tried to dye his hair in her bathroom LMAO#and it just felt really natural to be close to him and whatnot. we really get along and i really don't dislike him and i'm not NOT into him#but yeah anyways a few days later he messaged me and asked if he could pick me up from work but i told him no because at that point i was.#afraid. because i had a dream that i had kissed hik and he turned into rick sanchez and drowned LMFAOOO IT SOUNDS RETARDED BUT.#like i think the point of the dream was that if i showed him that i had some kind of feelings for him he would change or die or disappear?#i always assume the worst. but yeah the dream literally put me off so bad that i cut contact with him for almost 2 years#because i was afraid of him and i was afraid of my life changing#idk. maybe i should give it a try now. i'm still scared but you never know.#i at least wanna say 'thanks' for him convincing me to message my friend from 6 years ago so 🤷♀️ who knows

third watch of dwd down i fucking love that movie you guys it's literally brilliant

it’s actually starting to bother me how many people are saying that TLOU show is inherently better at story telling than the game, bc games in general are a worse medium to tell stories in than TV
#ok so i'm going to preface this by saying i literally need to interact with a fixation while i'm at work or no work will be done#so i listen to reaction podcasts like all day#so thats where i'm getting this reaction from#but its insaaaaane to me to have this take bc they're so deeply different as mediums#like yes if you watch the cutscene movie on youtube and then watch the show#the show is better#but theres such a vast difference to /how/ these mediums tell their stories that i dont even think there needs to be a comparison#with games its about discovery#its about unraveling the story yourself#it scratches a sort of problem solving itch in the brain#where as tv cant really capture that interactiveness#so it by necessity will end up being plot-ier#the show runners seem to deeply get the difference and are super respectful of the mediums#anyways the amount of podcasters who have this take is WILD#and then i've found 2 who are game die hards and refuse to accept that the game HAS to be changed for television#bc like i said tv will never be able to scratch that problem solving itch#and those people are also annoying af#those ones annoy me more tho so i've fully stopped listening to those guys#lea speaks#the last of us
