I think something that makes the Aladdin Sequels and Spinoffs better than other Disney Movie tie-ins is that there's a much stronger continuity than other "secondary" Disney media. This is even present in the Hercules Crossover Episode, which surprisingly makes more references to the sequels and the TV show than the actual movie:

Jafar is dead and complains about his "treacherous parrot", which is a reference to Return of Jafar, music from the TV show is reused and Aladdin's clothes and the fact he and Jasmine are now married is a reference to the King of Thieves.

Sadly, Disney only tends to reference the "main films" nowadays, if Princess Jasmine were to have a cameo in a TV show, then you can expect her to only reference events from the first movie, if at all.

And finally.... Oscar Isaac as their dad

It doesn't have to be for the live action Aladdin sequel (though the idea of Aladdin having a sibling this whole time sounds like an interesting plot point, he'd be an amazing older brother). I just think this family dynamic looks adorable.

Title: The Return of Jafar (1994) Vote: 7/10 Film that acts as a bridge between the original film and the animated series. You can see that the quality is decidedly lower than the original film but the story is good and provides a credible continuation of what was seen previously without distorting the facts.
