Virgil's been wanting a new piercing for a while. All of his current ones — way too many — were done at home because why spend all that money when you can do it yourself? It's so much more rock and roll to do it yourself! (I wouldn't do this but it's for the vibe)

However

The piercing he wants (pick whatever you'd like, I'm thinking spider bites) is a little too sensitive to do himself so he goes into a shop. And oh my god, the punk is cute.

Remus is loud and gay and makes jokes and does everything he can to comfort the emo (not knowing he's not really helping) and when the piercing is done, he lets Virgil know that he just looks SO kissable. And now Virgil's blushing.

And Remus definitely doesn't steal his phone number from his file in order to ask him out later (Virgil says it's creepy) (Remus agrees) (Virgil agrees to go out with him)

i think modern!80s!james would have at least a shoulder tattoo, a thigh or calf tattoo, and a forearm tattoo. i could see modern!90s!james having a chest piece and tattoos up and down his arms in addition to his leg tat.

modern!80s!james also has the left side of his nose pierced, both of his ears pierced, and he has snakebites that he stopped wearing when he was about 22

Do you still take headcanons?

Here's mine: everyone from the Blackthorn Clan, who is a dragon master has tattoos, like covering the entire back or arm. Lance is always wearing long sleeves or some kind of turtle neck, so maybe he has a Gyarados tattoo covering his arms or some dragons on his back (maybe they start on his wrists and end on his chest).

Since I hc Lance trying to be a good role model for younger trainers, he covers his tattoos and avoiding showing them in public. Based that Johto/Kanto is Japan, and tattoos are not that well accepted in some spaces, he covers for the sake of maintaining a more acceptable appearance as a public figure.

Bonus: Clair also has tattoos, but she doesn't mind covering them so much, since she's a rebel, but her tattoos are on her back.

Note: I based this on a fanart I saw: Lance was jogging wearing those long sleeves compression shirts.

Hi! This might be of an odd question, but is using one's own short hair something people do in historical costuming at all, in your experience? Everyone I see seems to have long hair to recreate hairstyles with and I'm more just interested in the clothes/don't like wigs. Is having/using short hair something people do? (When I say short I mean it's like a pixie cut, there's really nothing that could be done with my hair)

It's not necessarily commonplace- a lot of the short-haired feminine-presenting people I know either wear wigs or stick to eras where their length was more fashionable (1790s-1820s, 1920s, etc). But it's certainly not historically inaccurate.

Because, surprisingly enough...some women liked having short hair even when it wasn't popular. Simply searching "Victorian woman short hair" will supply you with tons of photos, and there are definitely portraits of similar ladies from earlier periods. And while some of those women were likely getting over an illness (women's hair was often cut in an attempt to bring down a fever), my research indicates that some kept their hair that way entirely by personal choice.

It may not be what laypeople expect, but it definitely Happened.

And if you aren't in it for the Full Look, only the clothes...tell people that. They can get onboard or piss off.
