Sunny and Warm
Did the heat finally break? Well, we had a storm and it’s a little better, but still too warm for my taste.
Today’s serial episode is from ANGEL HUNT:
Episode 66: What Niall Wants
Niall shows up, making it clear to Lianna what he…
Modern au where Kaveh is an art professor who spends his weekends meeting his friends at the bar to play cards or jamming with them in a corner. Recently, Haitham started coming to that bar, sitting in the back pretending to be busy when he's actually there because he has a crush on the blond guy with the guitar.
One evening, while they were playing cards, one of Kaveh's friends —noticing the glances from Haitham— challenges Kaveh to go talk to him if he loses at UNO.
Well, of course, he loses lol otherwise what would I be writing about? ahah but anyway, Kaveh goes to talk to Haitham. "Excuse me, can I sit here?" he asks, genuinely embarrassed, and for a moment, Haitham is breathless. He nods, and Kaveh sits, looking at the book in his hand to start a conversation:—"You're cool when you play" but Haitham preceded him "Cool?" he smiles amusedly. "Yes—" he murmurs uncomfortably. "Do you perform anywhere?" he closes the book, leaving it on the table. "Not really, we just have a channel on YouTube" he says. "It's nothing special, we don't really have time for these things" he blushes. "Pity" he looks into Kaveh's eyes, unexpectedly feeling at ease. "Can I follow you on there?" he asks, receiving an affirmative answer. He leaves the name of the channel on the bar napkin, along with the Instagram page if he wants to follow them there too. "See you, Kaveh" he says, carefully tucking the napkin into his wallet. "Hey!" he calls out before he exits the door. "What's your name?" the man smiles. "Haitham" and with a final farewell, he leaves, leaving Kaveh momentarily stunned but happy.
How much better is silence; the coffee cup, the table. How much better to sit by myself like the solitary sea-bird that opens its wings on the stake. Let me sit here for ever with bare things, this coffee cup, this knife, this fork, things in themselves, myself being myself.
You ever think about what it was like for Luz to explain to her friends and family that ‘oh yeah I died saving the Collector when he tried to friendship Belos into being good, until King’s dad, who’s also bigender, pulled me out from sinking into death, told me to tell King he loved him with a bread pun-also he had a dad bod and a mini Hootie just sticking out of one of his eye sockets- and then asked me if I wanted to be the chosen one and when I agreed I came back from death! And like, Eda and King already dealt with the ‘holy shit Luz actually died’ thing but like, Camilia, Amity, Gus, Hunter, and Willow knew absolutely NOTHING
at that point I think Luz just has to sit down with Eda and King and they all have to think about the pros and cons of just. not. saying anything. and keeping it on the down-low that Luz died briefly. Eda and King are both absolutely fucking terrified of anyone else hearing, especially Eda since Luz died, y'know, while under her watch, so.
Of course, as Luz is explaining this, she says something along the lines of "I mean, we haven't even really processed Hunter's death, so it could either work with us or--"
to which Eda immediately stands up, bids fare thee well, and busts out the strongest bottle of wine she has. she has not processed her own kids death, she's not about to think about that other kid briefly dying, thank you very much

Don't mind me I'm just over here thinking about what it means that Phrygian wants to take the form of a studio apartment. That this person could become anything but chose to become a place of rest. A place people can come to decompress or refresh themselves and maybe even learn something depending on what books are there to offer. Like the whole thing is a great joke and leads to some incredible bits but god does it fuck me up thinking about someone who's lost so much and who is so out of place becoming a safe haven someone or a family can come to be alone together with them. Where people can co-exist without the expectation or complication of conversation or physicality just the sheer existence of one another.
the problem with working a job where u interact with like 1500 people per day & u are supposed to be charming and informative the whole time is that sometimes you are so weird on accident?? and u say something that is so weird to say to another person out loud ?? and u just have to be like :) lets pretend that was normal. do you have any other questions
