im also anti proship but calling rugrats porn drawings "child porn" really dilutes the severity of actual child porn. we shouldnt be confusing actual cp that hurts real children with just weirdos drawing porn of cartoon characters that happen to be kids, the two things are not at all on the same level
ok i suppose this was inevitable, i may as well get into it.
(CW for some discussion of CSA and child pornography, obviously)
first off, "i'm also anti proship but" is a terrifying way to start your message, and to go and follow it up with some extremely common proship copypasta i've heard a million times about "taking attention/resources/severity/etc away from real CSA victims" or whatever kinda makes me wonder how "anti proship" you actually are...?
kind of the point of this whole debate is typically that "proship" folks insist that fiction, or in this case "porn of cartoon characters that happen to be kids" as you put it, has no effect on reality or people's mindsets. and so-called "antis" like myself generally respond to this idea with something along the lines of "well it sure seems to affect the reality of your cock and balls", and point out how repeatedly consuming media with a particular focus or message has been shown time and time again to quantifiably influence the way people view the world around them, in ways that subsequently affect how they act, or desensitize them to things that might otherwise upset/offend them. y'know, like political propaganda! or blockbuster movies about killer sharks! obviously some people are going to be more resilient against that sort of influence when the real-world equivalent of "porn of cartoon characters that happen to be kids" is something so blatantly unacceptable, and nobody is really claiming that the impact of fictional CP is "on the same level" as its IRL counterpart.
but at the very least, most people who would be considered "anti proship" WILL tell you "hey, i'm not trying to say that you jerking it to twitter porn of Gwen Tennyson or Tails or whatever is LITERALLY THE SAME as committing CSA, but it's still really fucking concerning and creepy that the majority of your sexual fixations are all specifically cutesy vulnerable cartoon characters under the age of 12, many of whom also have canonical adult designs that you conveniently avoid in favor of sexualizing the ones that are barely old enough to learn long division. you should maybe do some introspection and figure out why that is and whether or not you're really comfortable with what it implies about you. personally i know I'M not comfortable with that shit and i'm not going to keep hanging around you unless you make some serious changes." except usually in my experience the conversation ends up being a lot shorter and ends in a block pretty quickly. like i'm not a psychologist and i don't keep a bunch of studies on hand to throw at you about how fictional CP is often a factor in grooming, but i DO have a brain and can pretty clearly see when someone is rationalizing behavior that will lead them to places i'm not willing to follow.
ANYWAYS to focus more specifically on the actual reason we're talking about this (which was, to be clear, a mobile ad Tumblr served me that depicted one of the dads from Rugrats having sex with his 3yo daughter): yes, actually, that shit IS illegal to create or distribute. it's not the SAME as literal photographs of real children, OBVIOUSLY, but it's still also extremely fucked up in its own right, and any reasonable person in your life would probably stop talking to you if you told them you got off to it.
don't believe me about the legality part? check this out:
Tumblr media
so like, I GUESS you might get some legal leeway with cub furry art or sonic porn or stuff that isn't always obvious in how much it's intended to parallel real children? if you really care? but this ad was literally multiple illustrations of a human adult man having intercourse with a human toddler. it's pornography centered around openly fetishizing the sexual assault of a child by a parent. i fail to see how referring to that in shorthand as "child porn" is inaccurate in any way that matters.
and Tumblr is a US-based company, beholden to the laws shown above, so they are at least somewhat responsible when illustrated pedophilic incest porn gets shown to thousands of their mobile app users in an ad they got paid to display. THAT was the original point i was making in my post. but thank you for trying to derail it to interrogate my "anti proship" views or whatever, i have had multiple people send me fairly nasty asks about it in the past year and you finally caught me in a moment when i was already pissed enough about something else that i felt like going off about this stuff. sorry if you actually agreed with most of this and i came off as overly rude/harsh, but if that's the case then this response is for all the other anon asks and replies i've gotten too, i guess.
now we're all clear about where i stand and i hopefully don't need to talk about this again - it's kind of a fucking bummer to think about this stuff and i've been avoiding the subject intentionally. you are always welcome to just block me if you have a problem

You're looking a little tangled up there, Bolt!
Tumblr media
Decided to fill out the questionare that’s been going around the @sonic-oc-showdown!
Name: Bolt the Cyber Cheetah
Species: Asiatic Cheetah (and also cyborg)
Type: Speed
Alignment: Neutral Good
Home: Sol Empire
The rest under the cut! 👇
✨ - How did you come up with the OC’s name?
I didn’t! Bolt originally belonged to my partner Zed! He was a recolor/edit of one of those Sonic character bases you find on DeviantArt lol. He originally had, and still has, electricity powers-- he’s also related to Blaze, and 5th grade Zed wanted a B name, hence Bolt! He also tends to “bolt” off a lot, haha.
I’m the one who made him a cheetah, though. Bolt used to be just a regular old cat. But then I thought “hm, y’know for a series about a fast hedgehog, there is the striking lack of the cheetah rival” so I made him a cheetah! An Asiatic cheetah specifically, since Blaze is Indian-coded! The Asiatic cheetah is dying out :( There are only 12 Asiatic cheetahs left in the whole world as of writing this :(( It’s so sad :(((
Tumblr media
(A cheetah in Iran. Source: Wikipedia)
🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
Bolt is 18 years old!
🌺 - Do they have any love interest(s)?
Yes! Bolt has a girlfriend named Chilli, who’s a Chocolate Labrador! They met in junior year high school and are T4T ❤ Don’t ask him how he scored, he doesn’t know either.
Tumblr media
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
I don’t know! Since he’s so anxious all the time, probably warm and filling foods, like soup! Since he’s 90% robot, though, he doesn’t really need to eat. He’s powered by his own electricity!
💼 - What do they do for a living?
Bolt does a variety of odd jobs to pay rent. He usually works as a living battery for a lot of people, though, restarting grids and charging people’s phones for a dollar.
🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?
Bolt has a lot of hobbies, usually ones that keep him calm. Visiting museums, going on long walks in nature, anything that handles weaving like crocheting or knitting or plush making... he made his jacket himself!
 - What do they do best?
Worry. And cry.
🥊 - What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Bolt loves engaging in his hobbies and hanging out with his girlfriend, Chilli :)
Oh boy does he hate a lot of things. Many things stress him out. Watching a scary movie, trying something new, talking to people who aren’t his usual friend group, loud concerts, big crowds, whatever new adventure Blaze inadvertently drags him into this time, etc etc.
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Going to see the stars with his girlfriend for the first time.
✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
Getting kidnapped and roboticized, easy. And [SPOILERS FOR THE UNDEVELOPED AND UNRELEASED FANGAME SONIC RUSH: LIGHTNING SPEED].
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
Nope! Bolt went through sooo many designs. I’m still figuring him out. Every new drawing of him looks different. I feel like I’m getting close, though!
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
Zed wanted to make a cool elemental Sonic kitty ala Blaze. Then I basically took him and transformed him completely. At first he was gonna be another cocky Sonic rival, since I’ve always imagined a cheetah rival for Sonic, but then I was like “hmm, he has a lot of those already... not very unique...” and then I remembered @/thehydroxian-art-blog’s Jeff the Imperfect Shadow Android and though “Ah! I shall make him pathetic. And also a robot.” And thus the current version of Bolt was born!
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
A sci-fi action comedy film, for sure!
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Bolt is a trans man, he/him pronouns, bisexual. That yellow chestplate you see was originally a binder before it got welded into his body by the roboticization machine!
🙌 - How many siblings does your OC have?
None so far! He’s an only child! He does have his cousin, Blaze, though. Which technically makes him royalty. He doesn’t really live like royalty, though... or know that he’s royalty in the first place.
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
They kinda just peaced out after Bolt graduated from high school. They weren’t particularly close with Bolt, and vice versa. They lowkey wanted nothing to do with him...
✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?
A decent amount! A member in a Sonic server I’m in asks all sorts of prompt questions about other people’s OCs and I love answering them! It’s really helped me develop not just Bolt, but my other OCs such as Faye Moreau, Seafoam the Sailfish, Charlotte Webb, Chaos Clown, Ms. Host, Cabinet Man, and even Kryztal!
💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
Nah, not really.
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
Yes. Too many to list, though. He’s practically afraid of everything.
🍩 - Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
Blaze is kiiinda his rival, but saying that is kind of a stretch. He’s an alright rival to Sonic when the hog visits, though.
🎓 - How long have you had the OC?
I don’t quite remember. A few months at least. Maybe even a year.
This one is something I came up with myself:
💥 - What are your OC’s powers, if they have any?
Bolt can channel and manipulate electricity! He can also shapeshift his mechanical body into various weapons like energy cannons, guns, and blades! His tail stretch out really far, and manifest temporary platforms!
Tumblr media
Aaand that should do it! Hoo, that was a lot of questions! It was fun!!!

Are the ArchieSonic comics actually an 80's/90's syndicated cartoon? Episode 64 - 65: Two Multi-part Finale (part 10: Sonic the Hedgehog #247)
Welcome back to my investigation of how Archie Comics’ Sonic the Hedgehog series was actually a syndicated cartoon from the 80’s and 90’s!
Last time I discussed Sonic Universe #50, where Shard made his heroic final stand, Metal Sonic went from being a repeatedly blown up chump to a very, very scary robot, and Eggman implied that he had something big in the works. This brings us to Sonic the Hedgehog #247, the final pre-boot issue of the series. Team Fighters had chased the Death Egg all the way to its fueling station in the Arctic, and joined forces with the Arctic Freedom Fighters (who thankfully were NOT characters that Ken Penders was claiming copyright for).
Tumblr media
The heroes smashed their way into the base and were surprised to be joined by none other than Silver. At the end of the Secret Freedom Fighters’ arc in Sonic Universe, Harvey Who had told Silver that he’d figured out who Silver’s supposed traitor was, and offscreen he explained everything he’d found out. Then at the end of Endangered Species, Shard had contacted Silver to tip him off that Team Fighters were heading to the Arctic, hence him showing up here. Sonic really didn’t have the patience for any more of Silver’s shenanigans, which is fair when you remember that Silver tried to first kill him, then Rotor, and then blamed the comatose Antoine, all in the name of stopping his supposed traitor. But Tails put together that Silver was part of a team working with Elias (or “the true king,” as they were now forced to refer to him as), and convinced Sonic to give him one more chance.
Tumblr media
If Silver was trying not to get Sonic angry again, he was failing abysmally.
Back in New Mobotropolis, Nicole and Team Freedom were officially presenting the newly rebuilt Castle Acorn when the latest in a series of accidents involving the city’s nanites occurred.
Tumblr media
Fortunately , Cream and Cheese had finally managed to figure out what was causing all these problems around the city. And so Cream took her theory to Rotor.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile back up North, Silver was explaining to everyone why Sally was his “traitor.”
Tumblr media
When Sally saved the planet from the world roboticiser only to fall victim to it herself, she inadvertantly kicked off a series of events that would doom the planet anyway. Sonic still wasn’t thrilled to have Silver there, but since the time traveller had now dedicated himself to saving Sally like the rest of them, Sonic let him tag along. Their first task was to infiltrate the Death Egg from below via an underwater tunnel.
Tumblr media
Whoops. Well that didn’t work - Eggman’s forces attacked and sounded the alarm. And Eggman, who was busy getting ready for his next big move, was not pleased with this new development.
Tumblr media
“Albert,” you say? Well if there was any doubt left that Eggman had already met Dr Wily - and after hinting that Metal Sonic would be working with Bass, there really shouldn’t have been - it seemed pretty clear now.
Tumblr media
Back in New Mobotropolis, Team Freedom had laid a trap for the Tails Doll, expecting it to try and destroy the city’s power plant when it was left unsupervised. Sure enough, the creepy little jerk took the bait. There was just one small problem. …well actually, it was a large problem.
Tumblr media
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again anyway - I don’t know what was going through Evan Stanley’s idea when she was drawing the Tails Doll’s kaiju form, but I guess I get the genital general idea of what she was going for. 😛
Back in the Arctic, things were looking pretty grim for Team Fighters and their friends. Mecha Sally had been authorised to shoot to kill, and she and her brain laser (called the “Boom Fant” by Ian Flynn) were on a rampage. Tails knocked Sonic out of the way of her point-blank shot, but both of them were hurt in the process.
Tumblr media
Amy tried to protect Sonic and Tails as Mecha Sally moved in for the kill, and I feel like in the original timeline that Silver’s future was a result of, this is where all three of them died. However in this time an injured Silver swooped in at the last possible second and used his psychokinesis to disable Mecha Sally.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately they only got a few seconds to enjoy their win before another Genesis Wave went off and the world faded to white.
And… that’s it. That’s how the preboot era of ArchieSonic ended. With the creative team facing the incredibly daunting task of having to take the story in an entirely new direction, the incredibly well-timed Sonic and Mega Man crossover gave them an extra few months to figure out where to go afterwards. So this latest Genesis Wave was set off by both Eggman and Wily, who used it to reshape both of their worlds.
Tumblr media
Sonic’s world was changed to one more like the games, set after the latest game in the series, Sonic Generations - wow, that makes me feel old - while Mega Man’s world was catapulted forward in time to after Mega Man 10. Combining their technology and robots, Eggman and Wily captured all of Sonic’s friends, transformed them into “roboticised masters,” and tasked them with retrieving all seven Chaos Emeralds. This would allow them to set off one last Genesis Wave that would essentially make them gods. Just like last time, Sonic transformed into his super form - this time with Mega Man joining him - and attempted to restore their worlds to how they were. While Mega Man was successful, Eggman threw a hissy fit and got in the way of Super Sonic, which… well… broke reality.
Tumblr media
The end result of this was a rebooted world for Sonic, absent of not just the characters that Ken Penders had claimed copyright over, but all the characters created by anyone who wasn’t part of the current creative team at the time. I guess that Archie wanted to play it safe and prevent any further copyright snafus from happening, and considering that Ken Penders wasn’t the only former employee who gave them trouble, I think this was probably the right decision. But it was nonetheless a decision that had a heavy impact on the pre-crossover storylines, most of which were either quickly resolved or just discarded entirely. The Secret Freedom Fighters no longer existed (except for Silver, who was doing his own thing), and neither did Geoffrey St. John. Naugus was still around and causing mayhem in Mobotropolis, safe from the purge due to him having originally been introduced as a character in the SatAM cartoon.
Tumblr media
But he quickly ran away with his tail between his legs and didn’t return for quite awhile. Team Freedom and Team Fighters were dropped in favour of bringing back the Freedom Fighters, who had been scattered across the planet so that they could be reintroduced one by one.
Tumblr media
Rotor had gotten buff and was busy building the team’s new mobile flying base, the Sky Patrol.
Tumblr media
Antoine was no longer in a coma and had been assigned guard duty of “Uncle” Chuck, who was now no longer Sonic’s literal uncle but more of a “uncle to all.” I believe that was one of the dreaded SEGA “mandates,” as the Sonic cast were no longer allowed to have relatives (except for Cream, of course). I hated that, but at least Uncle Chuck survived the purge. As did Sonic's former pet dog Muttski, who had undergone what was probably the most dramatic change.
Tumblr media
Same, Sonic and Tails. Same.
Tumblr media
Bunnie was undercover among the Egg Army, and had gone back to being a cyborg.
Tumblr media
And Sally was no longer a robot, and was infiltrating the Death Egg but had to leave in a hurry when Eggman sent Metal Sonic after her. Within a few issues the team were all reunited, along with Big and Cream, just as everything went to Hell. Remember how I said that Eggman broke reality?
Tumblr media
Yeaaaaaaaah. This led into a massive adaptation of Sonic Unleashed, which went on for almost the entirety of the rest of the series. This was a pretty brilliant idea in my opinion, as a game that was so heavily focused on travelling the shattered planet was the perfect way to re-introduce Sonic’s new world. We got to visit a variety of different locations and meet friends and enemies both familiar and new. Mighty, Ray, Lupe and Dulcy all returned with new looks and backstories, as did the former Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad and most surprising of all, Breezie. And a bunch of new characters quickly became fan favourites, such as the pronghorn sisters Cassia and Clove, the underwater mobians Coral, Pearly and Razor, and Shadow's new dark nemesis, Eclipse.
The reboot era of ArchieSonic lasted for over three years, but eventually it came to an abrupt end when SEGA pulled the plug. This leaves the last two (completed) arcs in post-reboot ArchieSonic for me to talk about: Terror in the Skies, the end of the Sonic Unleashed adaptation in the main book, and The Case of the Pirate Princess, a Chaotix arc that ended Sonic Universe. Even though it came after the Unleashed adapation ended, I'm going to be talking about the Chaotix arc first. Terror in the Skies feels like the best way to end this series. However I will be taking a bit of a hiatus, as I’m currently preparing to move overseas. So please be patient and wish me luck, and I'll be back with these three goobers before you know it!

Sonic Cyber Revolution Analyzer: The Memories of the Past Arc (Part 7) - Metal Sonic & Ferra Ahearn
Tumblr media
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver, Shadow and Metal Sonic remember their first meeting with their human partners, while also dealing with the aftermath of what happened at the Codex Research Facility, leading to the formation of Team Neos.
Chapters
Entry 10: His World
Entry 11: Believe In Myself
Entry 12: Unknown From M.E.
Entry 13: My Sweet Passion
Entry 14: Dreams of an Absolution
Entry 15: I Am... All Of Me
Entry 16: What I’m Made Of
The Memories of the Past Arc is a story arc segmented into two parts: The Memories of The Past & Present Day, and each chapter focuses on a different pair of characters. The first segment explores how they met and became partners, while the second segment focuses on the aftermath of what happened in the previous story arc.
As a side-note, all of the chapter titles are also the titles of each character’s theme songs: His World for Sonic, Believe In Myself for Tails, Unknown From M.E. for Knuckles, My Sweet Passion for Amy, Dreams of an Absolution for Silver, I Am... All Of Me for Shadow and What I’m Made Of for Metal Sonic.
Part 7 of this story arc’s analysis will focus on Metal Sonic and Ferra Ahearn and be split into two segments; the first segment focusing on the story itself and the second part being an in-depth character analysis.
-The Memories of The Past: Metal Sonic & Ferra-
Metal Sonic awakened, his vision covered in static. As it cleared, he realized that he was lying on his back, sprawled out, staring at the clear blue sky above him. A tiny screen appeared before his vision, revealing to be a databank. He realized that he was trying to draw upon his memories and figure out how he ended up here, but his memory had severe gaps. He remembered nothing beside his name and what he was; an Irregular. He had an understanding of this world and how it functioned, yet any information relevant to his past just wasn't there.
Metal Sonic propped himself up, reaching for his head and then lowered his arm, looking around. He realized that he was at a scrapyard, sitting on a pile of rusted metal. His red eyes flashed and, despite feeling illogical, he could sense a shiver spreading through his body. Why was he here? Why was he at a place where useless metal parts are thrown away to either rust or be recycled? Admittedly, he was a robot Irregular, but that still didn't make sense. He was still fully functional, all of his systems working properly. Once again, it didn't make any sense to him.
Was he… Was he too thrown away?
Metal Sonic shook his head. That should be impossible! There was no way he was left here to just rust and decay! This couldn't be his fate… right?
Metal Sonic’s flashbacks starts with him awakening in a scrapyard, but remembering nothing of his past, which is actually the norm for an Irregular ARNav who just came into existence. Wondering if he had been thrown away, he is found by Ferra, who wonders if he needs any help. Having established a way of communication with her, Metal Sonic introduces himself.
''Do you know about the reputation Irregulars have here?'' she asked.
'That information is not present in my databank,' Metal Sonic responded. Ferra rose an eyebrow, then beckoned to him to follow her, picking up the remote. Metal Sonic followed her obediently.
''Then, I think it would be better if you stayed with me for a bit,'' she told him as they reached firm ground, with Ferra grabbing her drone. Metal Sonic looked at her, expecting further explanation, but she didn't respond. ''Speaking of which, why are you here?''
'I don't have any set direction or purpose,' Metal Sonic replied bluntly, with Ferra giving him a look of surprise.
''I actually meant to ask you why you're at this scrapyard…'' she muttered, with Metal Sonic lowering his head, staring at the ground as they made their way to the exit. Ferra realized that something was troubling him. ''Uh, Metal Sonic? Are you okay?''
'I had been placed at a scrapyard. I don't have the sufficient information for why. The logical conclusion dictates that I was sent here to be scrapped,' Metal Sonic responded, looking up at Ferra.
''Why would anyone want to scrap you?'' Ferra asked incredulously. ''They have to be a complete idiot to even think of something like that.''
Metal Sonic gave her a questioning look, seemingly not understanding what she meant. 'That is the most logical conclusion,' he reiterated as they exited the scrapyard. Ferra stopped, turning to Metal Sonic.
''Maybe it is the most logical conclusion,'' she started, lightly tapping Metal Sonic's nose with her index finger, confusing the robotic Irregular further, ''…but I don't think so. You said you have no direction nor purpose. Well, I might just give you one.''
Metal Sonic was staring at Ferra in stunned silence, his expression unreadable. He then nodded. Even if he had been created without a purpose, he had a strong desire to find one. There had to be a reason why he existed and if Ferra could provide him with that purpose, he would be satisfied. He did not want to be decommissioned.
'What is your purpose?' he suddenly asked. Ferra gave him a look of surprise, being caught off guard by the question. She then smirked.
''Actually, I'm also looking for a purpose,'' Ferra replied, noting the puzzled look Metal Sonic gave her. ''I genuinely feel bored most of the time, and I'm glad I came across you.''
Metal Sonic's eyes flashed as he observed Ferra curiously.
'Am I your purpose?'
Ferra gave him an intrigued look, then nodded.
''Yeah, you are.''
'New designation: accepted.'
Ferra nodded in response, acknowledging his decision. ''Now that we solved that issue, there is a certain blue hedgehog I would like to tell you about. He basically looks like you, even shares names with you, but he isn't a robot. From what I've seen, he has been around Neos City for a while.''
Metal Sonic gave her a confused look. How was it possible that he had a look-a-like he was unaware of? Maybe that was one of the reasons why he had been dumped at the scrapyard; because there was already someone there more deserving of life? So, he wasn't worth anything just because another hedgehog existed? His eyes flashed red and he felt something strange… a powerful sense of rage.
'Introduce me to that look-a-like.'
Due to his lack of memories and belief that he has no direction or purpose, Metal Sonic has a bit of an existential crisis, thinking that he was left to be scrapped. Ferra, feeling pity for Metal Sonic, decides to take the opportunity by giving him a purpose, even though she too doesn’t know what her own purpose is.
Therefore, Metal Sonic becomes her purpose, something he easily accepts. He  then gets intrigued when Ferra informs him of Sonic’s existence, a look-a-like that may be the reason why he ended up at the scrapyard. Something snaps inside him, and he decides that he wants to be introduced to his look-a-like.
The aftermath of this meeting leads to the prologue of the story, Entry 0: Ready, Set, GO!, with Metal Sonic observing Sonic as he races through the city, his sole intention being to destroy his organic counterpart and proving himself to be the real and superior Sonic. In other words, the story looped back to the beginning, showing how The Metal Irregular Arc had really started.
-Present Day-
In the present day, Ferra laments how their plan didn’t really work out given what had happened at the Codex Research Facility, with her and Metal Sonic deciding to take a break for now. They return to the Ahearn household, where Ferra finds her mother talking to her best friend, with Ferra’s mother, Brianna Ahearn, praising Ferra for having an unique ARNav in Metal Sonic, only to mention how Ferra was invited to work as an intern at the Tamago Corporation.
Ferra is confused about what she’s talking about, only to learn how her mother opened the letter she was sent and feeling angry at the former for doing that. Brianna haughtily responds how Ferra should be thankful that she decided to celebrate Ferra’s success of being accepted to work at such an prestigious company, calling her hysteric for freaking out over the open letter. Brianna’s friend, Emily, agrees, wishing she too had an intelligent and successful daughter as Ferra, with Brianna agreeing how Emily’s daughter is an ungrateful brat and scolds Ferra for still being hung over the letter instead of being happy for being praised about her success. Emily concludes that Ferra is just shocked over the news, noting how teenagers are emotional and not best at decision making, with Brianna agreeing, and then demands that Ferra aces her interview at the Tamago Corporation and gets the job as an intern, scoffing at her frown and telling her to smile.
So, if you want to know the reason why Ferra wants to see the world burn, there it is. Ferra’s family situation consists of her narcissistic parents, especially her mother, who treat Ferra like a trophy child, praising her achievements to keep up an appearance of having the perfect daughter. Whenever Ferra doesn’t do anything they like, they will keep criticizing her for it, calling her names or taking jabs at how she feels. Ferra absolutely hates her parents and couldn’t care less about their expectations, but unfortunately, she had to give into their demands. To them, she is just an object that should be seen, but not heard, rather than a person with her own wishes and desires.
Except, Ferra doesn’t even know what her own desires are, having changed so many interests due to her own boredom that she doesn’t know what to do with her life.
Fortunately, she does have support in Metal Sonic, who hates her parents just as much as she does, if not even more. He would get angry on Ferra’s behalf whenever her parents would belittle her. Ferra, in turn, wants to focus on fulfilling Metal Sonic’s desires, as that’s what makes her happy. As for Metal Sonic, he would do obey any of her command without question.
Ferra decides to put this whole situation behind in favor of the letter from the Tamago Corporation, knowing well she didn’t apply for any internship, but she is intrigued, deciding to meet Dr. Telos Tamago.
We then switch briefly to Sonic and Shadow’s race, which is another tie. As it turns out, they have had several of them, with Shadow refusing to have another one.
''Then, what do you suggest?'' Sonic asked. Shadow stared at him for a moment, then turned his back to the latter, with Sonic feeling confused, at least until Shadow spoke again, hoverboard under his arm and the other hand placed on his hip.
''You had asked me what would happen if I ever find myself in a situation where I wouldn't be able to to protect Touka,'' he said, staring at the ground, his eyes narrowed.
''Yeah, and you said that you would never let that happen,'' Sonic replied, walking up to Shadow and facing him. ''Why are you bringing this up now?''
''If you were put in the same kind of situation, what would you do?'' Shadow asked him. Sonic appeared to be startled at first, scratching his cheek, pondering.
''I… I'm not really sure,'' he replied. Shadow gave him an irked look.
''You ask me that same question, but you have no answer to it?'' he asked, glaring at Sonic. Sonic smiled sheepishly, feeling a bit nervous, but then stepped forward.
''I'm sure that in a situation where I'm unable to do anything, I can rely on my friends to help me,'' Sonic replied, smiling confidently. ''After all, wasn't that a point of Team Neos? Where we all support each other?''
''What if one of your friends turns against you?'' Shadow asked, catching Sonic off guard.
''What do you mean by that? Like, they are being brainwashed or…?'' Sonic trailed off as he saw Shadow's serious gaze. Surprisingly, Sonic fell silent for a moment, with Shadow wondering whether he finally managed to get the hedgehog to actually have some meaningful self-reflection. Whatever it was, it only lasted a few seconds, as Sonic returned back to his optimistic demeanor. ''No matter what happens, I will make sure to save my friends, even if I have to fight them to knock some sense into them.'' He then elbowed Shadow, grinning mischievously. ''I did the same with you, didn't I?''
''Hmph, you're being too overconfident,'' Shadow responded.
''Then I guess then I'll have you to pull me back whenever I get ahead of myself, right Shads?'' Sonic replied in a chipper tone. Shadow didn't respond, but Sonic didn't really appear to mind his lack of response, instead walking away towards Lucas and Touka. ''Anyways, if you want another race, give me a call.''
Shadow remained standing in silence, staring at the blue hedgehog with a curious look on his expression, then sighed, following the latter.
Surprisingly, Shadow decides to talk to Sonic, repeating Sonic’s question of what would happen if he ever found himself in a situation where he couldn’t protect Touka and asking Sonic what he would do in the same situation. Sonic isn’t really sure, but he knows his friends will support him, with Shadow then wondering what would happen if his friends ever turned against him. Sonic is taken aback by the question, but is still confident that he would save them no matter what, pointing out how he did the same with Shadow.
Shadow just calls him overconfident, with Sonic responding how Shadow would have to be the one to pull him back whenever he gets ahead of himself. Both then leave to join their partners.
As we return back to Ferra and Metal Sonic, we find them entering the Tamago Corporation, with both immediately noticing something wrong with the employees - namely, that they aren’t real humans but robots. As they walk deeper into the building, they eventually find a very familiar logo painted on the walls, coming across an office where they meet the true CEO of the Tamago Corporation.
''Um, hello?'' Ferra called out for whoever was sitting in the chair. ''I'm Ferra Ahearn and I'm here because of this internship deal. I feel that there was some kind of mistake, as I never asked for an internship.''
''Oh-ho-ho-ho, don't worry, Ms. Ahearn. No mistake had been made,'' the man in the chair responded, not turning around. ''As a matter of fact, I had sought you out specifically. You, and your quite intriguing Irregular partner.''
Ferra felt a chill flowing down her spine as she heard the voice, her mouth now completely dry. So, she was right about her assumption.
''Really? Then how about you explain to me why you had invited us here, Dr. Eggman,'' Ferra responded, feeling a stinging sensation in her fingertips. This all felt like some kind of weird fever dream. The swivel chair turned around, with Dr. Eggman giving her a wide grin.
Ferra and Metal Sonic finally meet Dr. Eggman, who had personally invited them here. Ferra quickly gets to business, pointing out how she did manage to figure out who sent her the invitation after seeing the Eggman Empire logo plastered on the walls of the building and noting how all the employees are robots, as well as adding the fact that Tamago means Egg, so Dr. Eggman wasn’t even subtle with how he named his corporation.
''Tsk, tsk, tsk, unnecessary details,'' Dr. Eggman replied, waving her off as he got up and walked up to her. He noticed Metal Sonic giving him a suspicious look, but he just smirked smugly. ''The point is that I have an open spot for both you and your partner in my Empire, as my loyal enforcers.''
''Why?'' Ferra asked, still standing her ground. ''Why me? Why Metal Sonic? I don't believe that we have done anything that would make you notice us.''
''That's where you're wrong, Ms. Ahearn,'' Eggman replied, leaning forward with that everpresent smug grin. Ferra gave him a suspicious look, while Metal Sonic was alert. ''I have noticed your little battle with a certain blue hedgehog.''
''Sonic? Okay, but what's that got to do with anything? Is he even aware of your existence?'' Ferra asked. Metal Sonic, who was just a moment ago ready to knock Eggman back for getting too close to his partner, gave the Doctor a curious look as he heard him mentioning Sonic's name.
''Oh, no, he isn't,'' Eggman replied. ''We haven't met, except maybe in a different life. However, that doesn't mean that I won't prepare myself for a possible future battle.''
''Wait a minute… If I'm understanding this correctly, you're asking me and Metal Sonic to act as your enforces in any future battles against Sonic and his friends while you're… doing what? Conquering Earth?'' Ferra asked, raising an eyebrow.
''You are correct, but my current plans only involve Starpoint Area. The rest of Earth will have to wait, for now,'' Eggman said, clearly pleased that Ferra had caught on. As much as he loved to talk about his brilliant plans, he was a busy man.
''Should I even ask why you want to conquer Earth or do you have some pamphlet that explains your motives?'' Ferra then asked in a deadpan tone, still feeling as if she was caught in a fever dream. She then shook her head. ''Look, Doctor, I don't give a damn about your grand plans of conquest. The only reason Metal Sonic and I stand on the opposite side is because I'm supporting Metal in his goal to defeat Sonic.''
''Yet, you still haven't succeeded in that goal,'' Eggman pointed out, with both Ferra and Metal Sonic feeling annoyed for being put on the spot. ''Of course, I can arrange for a situation where you can deal with that Blue Rat while I'm proceeding with my own plans.''
Dr. Eggman then tells them how he wanted them to work as his Enforcers in his grand scheme of taking over Starpoint Area, and probably the rest of Earth, having witnessed their battle with Sonic and taken interest in them. No, Sonic doesn’t know of Eggman’s existence, yet, but notes how they have meet in a different life - a hint that unlike Sonic, Eggman does have his video game counterpart’s memories.
Ferra is still baffled, noting how she couldn’t care less about Eggman conquering Earth as she only wants to support Metal Sonic in defeating Sonic, with Eggman telling her own he can arrange a situation where the two can clash in a battle. As for Sonic’s friends, he will take care of them. He also proceeds to threaten Ferra in case she refuses.
''Consider that problem solved,'' Eggman replied, extending his hand. ''What do you say, Ms. Ahearn? Do you wish to join The Eggman Empire?'' He then added in a sinister tone, his eyes narrowing. ''Of course, if you refuse, I will have to make sure that you don't interfere with any of my future plans.''
Ferra stared at him, understanding quite well what he meant, and then turned her gaze to Metal Sonic. She could see that her partner was interested in the idea of being given an opportunity to fight his rival, even if it meant to work with a megalomaniac. Metal Sonic gazed then back at her, the noise he produced forming into a rather simple statement.
'Eliminating Sonic is my desire. But, I won't do anything unless you agree.'
Ferra smiled at him, feeling quite happy that Metal Sonic would still follow her command rather than rebel and take his own path. She sighed, turning to Eggman, who stared at her, still grinning as if knowing something she didn't. She frowned, but then extended her hand.
''I will let you know one thing, Dr. Eggman,'' she said as they shook hands. ''I still don't care about whatever your plans are. I'm only interested in helping Metal defeat Sonic. That is all.''
''What you want changes nothing in the grand scheme of things,'' Eggman told her, before turning his head to the door, with Ferra and Metal Sonic following his gaze, spotting a red and yellow robot waiting for them at the entrance. ''Orbot, Cubot, you two are going to show Ms. Ahearn and Metal Sonic around the facility and make sure that she gets her special employee pass.''
''Of course, Boss,'' Orbot said, looking at Ferra. ''If you would please follow us, Ms. Ahearn.''
''Sure, but just call me Ferra. I'm not that big on formalities,'' Ferra said, turning from Orbot to Eggman to make sure he heard that. The latter seemingly ignored her, as he turned back to his assistant robots.
''Also, go fetch those two no-shows, Toshiro and Mephiles,'' Eggman added, now sounding quite irritated. ''They were supposed to be here an hour ago.''
''Maybe they forgot?'' Cubot suggested, only to shut up when Eggman glared at him. He then added meekly, ''We'll get them, Boss.''
The four then walked away, with Ferra still trying to process her situation. Apparently, Dr. Ivo ''Eggman'' Robotnik was not only a real person, but also the CEO of the Tamago Corporation and she and Metal Sonic were now working for him as enforcers. Sure, it was only so they could find Sonic, but still, it felt really weird. Ferra shook her head.
This was not how I expected things would go… Wait a damn second!
''Did Dr. Eggman just asked you to search for someone named Mephiles?'' Ferra asked Orbot and Cubot.
''Yes, he did. His full name is Mephiles the Dark, and he's the Irregular partner of Toshiro Miwa. Both are working as Enforcers, just like you two,'' Orbot explained.
''You might get along,'' Cubot added. ''From what we heard during their conversations with the Boss, they seem to have a bone to pick with that other hedgehog, Shadow.''
Ferra's eyes widened in shock, and she exchanged glances with Metal Sonic, then both turned to Orbot and Cubot.
''That's good to know, because we have a few questions for them,'' Ferra said. Metal Sonic's eyes just flashed red.
Ferra decides to accept once Metal Sonic points out how his sole desire is to eliminate Sonic, with Ferra once again affirming that she is not interested in Eggman’s plans, with Eggman pointing out how that changes nothing in the grand scheme of things. He then tells Orbot and Cubot to show Ferra and Metal Sonic around and find the other two Enforcers that refused to show up - Toshiro Miwa and Mephiles the Dark.
As Ferra thinks about her situation, she suddenly realizes that she does remember someone named Mephiles and asks Orbot and Cubot about him. Orbot and Cubot explain how Toshiro and Mephiles have beef with Touka and Shadow, with Ferra and Metal Sonic deciding to ask those two a few questions.
It should be noted that this is the last chapter of The Memories of the Past Arc, marking the ending of the introduction of the main cast. The next chapter starts The Enter The E.G.G.M.A.N. Arc, which focuses on Team Neos finally confronting Dr. Eggman.
Metal Sonic
Tumblr media
Metal Sonic is a major deuteragonist of Sonic Cyber Revolution. He is an Irregular ARNav based on his in-universe video game counterpart and is the partner of Ferra Ahearn.
Cold, dark, aggressive, mysterious and an outwardly emotionless machine with a large superiority complex, Metal wishes nothing more but to destroy Sonic to prove his superiority. He typically cannot speak, only communicating through buzzing and beeping noises, with Ferra being the only one able to understand him.
He is fiercely obedient to Ferra and quite docile in her presence, but when confronted with Team Neos, he will go after Sonic, often ignoring everyone else. He is also very calculating and systematic, eliminating those he feels stand in his way. He also isn’t without reason, as he will retreat if he believes he got damaged enough.
Metal Sonic is driven by a strong sense of identity. Having awoken at a scrapyard, a place where things that aren’t needed are thrown away and being a robot rather than an anthropomorphic ARNav, he developed a sense of inferiority and a desire to prove himself in this new world, especially after Ferra not only offered him a purpose, but also introduced him to Sonic. This led Metal Sonic to become obsessed with destroying the hedgehog, believing that Sonic was just his inferior copy, with Ferra supporting him in this goal.
Metal Sonic is incredibly ruthless in battle, having the speed and strength to match Sonic. He also has access to several powerful weapons, like his sharp claws, being able to fire an energy blast from the chest cavity, a jet-engine based propulsion system on his back to keep up with Sonic and the ability to create generate a seemingly impenetrable force-field called Black Shield.
Upon using Chaos Surge alongside Ferra, Metal Sonic’s speed, strength and durability increases, and the blast of energy he fires from his chest becomes so powerful it can break even the toughest of barriers and his Black Shield becomes completely impenetrable, withstanding any attack.
Upon using Chaos Surge alongside Ferra, Metal Sonic’s s engulfed in dark blue and black sparks of energy, with his eyes turning from red to dark blue. Metal Sonic’s speed, strength and durability increases, and the blast of energy he fires from his chest becomes so powerful it can break even the toughest of barriers, and his Black Shield becomes completely impenetrable, withstanding any attack.
Metal Sonic is also later on shown to be capable of transforming into a different form, this one known as Neo Metal Sonic, after attaining the copy ability from Dr. Eggman, allowing him to scan life data of other life forms and replicate them. As Neo Metal Sonic, he also gains the ability to properly speak.
Metal Sonic shows complete loyalty towards Ferra, as she was the one who gave him a purpose, even if that purpose amounted to him fighting Sonic to prove his superiority. The two have a mutually supportive relationship, where Metal Sonic, while aware that Ferra wants nothing more but for him to achieve his goals, still puts Ferra’s own desires above his own. While Metal Sonic will show some kind of protest, he is still absolutely obedient towards Ferra, willing to abandon a battle with Sonic if he senses that Ferra is in danger. In turn, it is quite clear that Ferra considers and treats Metal Sonic as his own person rather than an emotionless machine. Metal Sonic will also object to any action Ferra disagrees with, once again affirming his loyalty towards her.
Despite not being created by Dr. Eggman in this universe, Metal Sonic ends up joining The Eggman Empire alongside Ferra, if only to fulfill his own goals. Dr. Eggman is well aware that Metal Sonic has no loyalty towards him and has joined only for Ferra’s benefit, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t appreciate having a powerful and competent Enforcer on his side. In turn, Metal Sonic respects Dr. Eggman, although not without showing a bit of a rebellious attitude. Dr. Eggman is also the one who grants Metal Sonic the ability to shapeshift into Neo Metal Sonic.
Metal Sonic doesn’t think too much about his fellow Enforcers, Toshiro Miwa and Mephiles the Dark, not caring about them as long as they don’t get in his way of eliminating Sonic.
The same goes for Dr. Starline, with Metal Sonic finding the fanboy platypus annoying, especially if Starline gets into an argument with Ferra.
Metal Sonic considers Team Neos his enemies, and is laser focused on his rivalry with Sonic. In any battle against Team Neos, he will specifically seek out to battle Sonic unless the mission requires him to fight something else. Due to his superiority complex, he wants to prove himself to be better than his “inferior copy” by either defeating him or destroying him outright. Sonic, in turn, doesn’t share the same grudge Metal Sonic has, and even enjoys their fights, which does frustrate Metal Sonic to an extent, as he believes that Sonic isn’t taking him seriously.
Nevertheless, unlike the video games, where Metal Sonic and Sonic’s goals never align and Metal Sonic absolutely refuses to work with Sonic unless ordered by Dr. Eggman; in this story, Metal Sonic will begrudgingly ally himself with Sonic and the rest of Team Neos if the situation calls for it, usually if Ferra is in danger or if they’re facing a greater enemy. However, the moment the alliance is over, he goes right back to fighting them.
Ferra Ahearn
Tumblr media
Fan Art by Emerald The Lynx
Ferra Ahearn is Metal Sonic’s partner and, alongside the robotic hedgehog, an Enforcer for The Eggman Empire, as well as a recurring opponent Team Neos has to deal with.
Despite being quite intelligent, athletic and on the top of her studies, Ferra is very uninterested in anything and has no ambition, feeling that the world has nothing to offer to her. She had gone through many hobbies and interests, and while she excelled in them, it was only to appease her parents, who treat her less like a person and more like a trophy child they can brag about to their friends for the sake of appearance. She literally couldn’t have any interests of her own because her parents dictated how she should live her life. This is why Ferra gets bored easily and is something of a thrill-seeker, wanting to find something that would occupy her attention and keep her entertained.
She manages to find her own purpose after meeting Metal Sonic, whom she finds at a scrapyard. Understanding Metal Sonic’s desire for a purpose of his own, she decides to make it her own goal to support her partner in his pursuit of eliminating Sonic. This leads to Ferra and Metal Sonic often clashing with Team Neos, showing Ferra’s willingness to cause mayhem in a cool and calculated way. Admittedly, she does draw the line at something like mass destruction, but she has the same competitive spirit as Metal Sonic.
Upon using Chaos Surge alongside Metal Sonic, she gains access to Metal Sonic’s speed and durability, as well as his ability to fire energy blasts and create the Black Shield barrier, becoming quite a formidable foe. She will often take advantage of a situation if it benefits her, having the tendency to drop important information in a very casual tone to shock the person she’s talking to as part of her strategy.
Ferra’s name comes from the Latin word ferrum, which means iron, and her entire life revolved to be an obedient daughter to her narcissistic parents, like a robot, so it is a bit ironic and poetic that her partner is Metal Sonic. However, instead of treating him like a machine, Ferra considers Metal Sonic to be a person with his own desires and wishes, and supports him in his goals, putting his interests above his own. Metal Sonic shares the sentiment, with both wanting nothing more but to have an actual purpose in their life. She is quite caring and protective of him, and is also the only one who can understand what Metal Sonic says due to an established mental link between them. They have strong bond, with Metal Sonic being so far the the only person in existence that Ferra cares about.
Ferra is also, alongside Metal Sonic, an Enforcer of The Eggman Empire, and while she couldn’t care less about Dr. Eggman’s plans, she does show respect for him. The feeling is mutual, as Dr. Eggman sees her and Metal Sonic as his most competent and loyal Enforcers, happily sharing any world domination plans he has with them. Nevertheless, Ferra has no issue snarking or questioning Eggman’s plans if she feels that they don’t make sense. Surprisingly, Eggman doesn’t mind this show of rebelliousness and keeps relying on the two to fulfill his plans.
While a bit reluctant at the beginning, Ferra does show full loyalty towards Eggman, actually preferring her life as an Enforcer for him over her life at home. In her mind, while the situation on the surface doesn’t seem to be too different than how her parents treat her, i.e. a tool they can take advantage of, she actually enjoys more freedom at The Eggman Empire, free to pursuit any interest she desires so long as she completes her mission, even taking pride in it. She even gets along well with Orbot and Cubot.
It is through her work for Dr. Eggman that Ferra meets her fellow Enforcers, Toshiro Miwa and Mephiles the Dark, learning how the two were the ones who informed her about Shadow’s existence which lead to the events of The Ultimate Lifeform Arc. Ferra and Metal Sonic have quite an antagonistic relationship with them, as Ferra has a strong dislike for Toshiro’s nihilistic beliefs, working with them only because they were ordered to do so and being relieved when Toshiro and Mephiles eventually leave.
Another member of Dr. Eggman’s inner circle that Ferra does not get along with is Dr. Starline. She considers the fanboy platypus quite pretentious and arrogant, and she and Starline will often bicker, as Starline considers her inferior, despite the fact that Ferra is a competent member of the group. Their relationship is on the status of frenemies, where they will tolerate each other, and Ferra will be willing to risk her life to save Starline, but at the same time, they will argue even over the smallest of things.
Ferra is quite antagonistic towards Team Neos, having something of a rivalry with Lucas Kinomoto, which is more of an extension of Metal Sonic and Sonic’s rivalry. She is more than happy to battle them whenever they have an encounter, but she is not above teaming up with them when they come across a common enemy. Due to the already mentioned rivalry, her favorite target to mess with is Lucas.

A lot of the early doodles of my Sonic stuff, you can tell I’m still trying to figure out the style as well as the characters. Let’s see-
1: This was right around the time I saw the second movie and my eight-year old heart was so excited by the end credit scene that I thought I’d make a proper oc for my favorite boy. But I did also have an old ass oc from the eight-year-old brain that I wanted to bring back and give her more of a story. To be fair, she was just originally Hannah Montana the Hedgehog, because for whatever reason I wanted to be her (then again who at that time didn’t?). At the time of this drawing I hadn’t really begun to flesh her out. Now, Nex is not a fox. He LOOKS like a fox, but is much taller than normal mobians and darker shades on his fur - he is a Maned Wolf. And a total gay disaster! Clara there is a really early design I tried for my brother (it’s his oc) but she has a updated (and much better) look now, so look forward to that!
2: While the details of their meeting are still iffy as I write them, Nex and Shadow meet while Nex is still under Eggman’s “care”. Nex has known about Shadow and the events of the ARK thanks to all the files that Eggman had on them, and while he read every detail he could he couldn’t help but feel bad for those involved. He wonders what kind of person Maria would have been if not for her untimely death, if her disease could have been cured with the aid of Project SHADOW, and the ultimate life form himself! It must have been terrible to have your whole world ripped out from under you like some sort of circus act. Imagine his surprise when Eggman, his self-appointed new father, suddenly brings the very ultimate life form that Nex had spent many obsessive grief-filled nights over to their base! If only he wasn’t so socially inept perhaps he could… befriend him. (Or maybe date him or whateva lmao)
3: Hannah and Sonic are best buds. Hannah herself is a very famous singer, going all around Mobius preforming songs to breath hope and determination into the fearful citizens! She respects Sonic as the saviour of the world, but also knows just how fucking uncomfortable it is to be fawned over every waking minute - so she just treats him like a regular dude and in turn he does the same. Together they just get to be normal kids, doing whatever they feel like at the time, and if Robotnik comes out of nowhere to fuck them up their Speed-Power combo has most botniks out of commission in seconds! The purple one is Anti-Hannah, that’s right baby Anti-Mobius is a thing in my weird fucked up world because goddamn it I love the little fucked up versions (please no one tell Man Blenders (iykyk) about this). She’s Hannah’s opposite (duh) and is all in all a rude ass bitch. More on her later I suppose.
4: Nex is a genius. He was raised (if you can call it that) by Eggman, taken under his wing as a potential prodigy. The only problem, Nex hated Eggman. In his defense, Eggman had wiped out the entire Maned Wolf tribe Nex was apart of just because he was having a bad day - the only reason Nex was spared was because he showed great promise of ingenuity and brilliance at the young age of three - enough it reminded Eggman of himself and decided to spare the Maned Wolf and take him on as a son. Nex however never wanted to be his son, but knew that if he ever acted out, he would kill the young Nex without a second thought. Also Hannah has some real bad family trauma, more on that later as well.
5: Yin is one of two, and since her brother isn’t here I won’t go into to much detail about her just yet. But look forward to it ;-)
6: Hannah and Miley (Anti-Hannah) are both singers in their world, I imagine Hannah is more likely to sing songs like “Nobody’s Perfect” and uplifting shit like that whereas Miley is a total slut and will totally sing shit like “Gimme More” or “Radar”.

I'm sure Rouge could, as with other characters. But it comes back to which ones and why? It is her style or required for her line of work? Does she draw the line with specific ones or isn't as skilled with one gadget compared to another?
It's a matter of what the gameplay calls for. (If Tails Adventure and Sky Patrol are anything to go by, a Tails focus game is likely not going to play the same as those who follow Sonic's main gamestyle. If flight the main aspect, the game will focus on that. If gadgets are, it will be on that. Both? A compromise would have to made, but I'm sure they could get it to work.) If you ever heard of "Rachet and Clank", it probably gives a better visual of what I mean for this hypothetical. Spyro too, though more flying than gadgets.
I would say Rouge mainly has experience and stamina over the youngsters; but coming down to what they use their flight capabilities for; Tails being air support and Charmy stated to be a tracker. Plus Charmy does use his stinger and Cream uses Cheese as a projectile. (The fox likely can't beat Rouge toe-to-toe, but I'm sure he'd cause enough trouble for her to not consider him easy pickings next time.) In fairness, we don't really get much time with Prime Tails. {Not the first time a Tails has used a RC device either} It mainly Nine and the other counterparts instead; who live in rather hostile places.
I checked to be sure, and yeah, there is one flight level: The first Speedy boss. There are places to land [in case you get hit], but the stamina bar is completely removed here, as the goal is to get to the top while avoiding Speedy.
Honestly, it's a concept that's not used enough. I can totally buy him coming from the grocery or tool shop, using his tails to carry as much bags and supplies as possible. (Although not techinally the fur, when Nine takes off with the shard; the one Sonic just got absorbed into, you can see it wrapped in his organic tails. So yeah, I say it stands a good chance of coming back.)
You are correct. (Hmm, well, Amy was already shown to throw hammers in Origins.{Which funnily enough again, was shown in X before. The episode Sonic finally comes back from Chris' world.} I say it has a fair shot of sticking. A little less certain with Tails, but I think it could work in Frontiers. Part of me feels that a tweaked version of the Avatar's Wispon gameplay from Forces would fit him well. We'll see what the DLC does for both.)
Hmm, I can buy Tails being interested in history. Especially if it helps him better understand of what's going on at the moment or could be applied later. (Also, I think he just likes learning new things. That being said, it doesn't mean he'll be an expert of something overnight. Hence why he consulted Professor Pickles during Unleashed.)
I feel like the Rouge conversation got a bit away from the point I was originally trying to make, haha =_=' (it's ok but I'm just gonna drop it here)
I heard of Ratchet and Clank but have never played it myself. I looked up some gameplay footage and it looks pretty cool! (Longing for a Tails solo game intensifies)
I know, I know, drones are just so... lame :( I'm still holding out hope that we'll get to see more flashbacks with Prime Tails, I really like him from what little we've seen of him even though he's written so differently from probably any version of Tails I've seen before (except for maybe in some fics haha)
Yep! I've noticed that thing with Nine! (Part of my headcanon is that Tails's ability to control his Tails like that helps him fly (a little bit); I don't have a clear idea of the details, but the basic one is that he's able to position the fur of his tails in such a way that it makes slightly easier for them to function as helicopter blades. At this point it's instinctual for him, but if you're not Tails you might have a bit of trouble figuring out how to do it)
Yeah, I guess we'll see.
Man you mentioned the wispons and it made me think – we haven't seen Tails actually inventing anything for a while, huh? Unless something completely slipped my mind, the last time he had a new invention was Unleashed (the Miles Electric), and it's also the last time we've seen him with a new vehicle (Tornado-1. Geez. The Sonic Boom tv show made fun of his inability to come up with names and I kinda see where they were coming from here lmao). Mannnn. We can talk forever about the loss of his fighting abilities, but he hasn't exactly been shining in other areas either.
Yeah, it definitely doesn't seem... ooc for him to be into history, it just doesn't seem as connected to his usual interests. (But I guess history is inescapable in any field of work) Though Tails also has his own interest in chaos emeralds. (And you know if Eggman keeps summoning ancient evils (and Shadow) it's nice to at least have a general idea of what's going on. Or at least who to ask haha)

please gush about your passions and pastimes!!! I would love to hear about them
ack- im happy you want to hear about them!
Passions:
obvs as y'all know recently and just in gen., i guess, writing- i love crafting worlds and stories where anything can happen and just creating scenes above all else, like getting lost in the details of everything. I love getting lost in my own world and making myself happy as most self-indulgent writers do (and showing off my legitimate skill in a proper form of writing after doing shitpost-y things for so long is pretty rejuvenating, XD). And upon going back to some of my older, posted works and wips, I still laugh at the dumb shit I thought was the best stuff ever and now find myself giving those ideas a refresher like my last writing update, because it's still a legitimately enjoyable read.
i love sketching for similar reasons, but more so to visualize a fuzzy, almost-there idea, usually about fashion. Like recently I re-drafted some outfits for a fic idea I had, in order to make the world and designs make sense in my head. And I redesigned an existing outfit, running with certain themes and embellishments in design. I'm so happy I can churn out simple sketches like that when i really put my mind to it and feel content with the finished product nowadays. I feel accomplished as a hobby artist now and it's all thanks to heavy online research, a few how-to books, and putting effort into one art class. It's the second hobby of mine that I want to be good at, almost as much as my writing. Speaking of, I sometimes draw what I write or dream about because it's that prominent in my head.
Wow i love music guys- ha, but you already knew that *lenny face*
Past times:
I really like playing the simpler games in life- not as much in the vein of it being less difficult or busy, but more so with fewer controls, interesting mechanics, and a captivating style that I can easily fuck around in or beat some levels for a few hours. Bring on the (spider) solitare (only 4 suit sucks ass why do i do this to myself), jewel quest (FUCK YOU CROWS), barbie's fashion show (SINGLE DREAM-), zoo tycoon (fuck guest happiness), and sonic adventure or x-men of course.
MMD vids are v neat, like I know a handful of choreos that are fun as past midnight exercises to get my blood pumping and i get to discover new songs and learn more about other languages at the same time! Also the aph as mmd crack vids are the best whether its them making 'i hate this' or 'yeah im hot shit' faces or being completely into it as they're forced to dance or simply copying a vine. Like, they give me brainrot and serotonin at the same time its so fun. I love seeing all the different outfits for mmd vids in general, too, on top of new covers i never would've known about.
I really love analyzing things in general, actually. It's how I learn most of the things I do and know now, even though it technically causes me to lose large chunks of time because all i'm doing is staring at the damn thing, XD. Sometimes (all the time) I'll look at a gif or vid of a character changing their facial expression as they do/say something and I'll be completely enthralled by it. Something similar happens when I stare at REALLY GOOD artwork. I think it's the technical part of my brain trying to figure out the individual elements which make up whatever that thing is, like what facial muscles are being used to convey that emotion or mix of them, what the character is feeling, how the lighting or shading of the environment or extra details in editing affects said expression, etc. And for art, I'm thinking of the lines, posture, composition, object placement, color palette, negative space, tone, and all that jazz you learn from studying art.
Scrapbooking is a fun pastime for me that's extended from celebratory cards to actual gifts to my personal sketchbooks. It's part of the "creating something out of nothing/seeing what you can create with some basic templates and decorations" kind of mindset. And it makes me happy because I get to be creative and my family members and friends (even my employer) love them as part of their gifts every time and come to expect it from me each holiday, so I'm constantly encouraged to do it in the best way. I've recently kinda gone overboard on using ribbons and charms for the spiral and stickers and washi tape for the actual book itself on my sketchbooks, but I find myself wanting to draw in it more because I did that, lol.
I love rewatching the things I love. I usually have the same commentary about it, but its nonetheless enjoyable. And I never know what new thing I'll discover about it next, even if i've seen it over 50 times and only have it on as background noise and don't actually watch it. And yes, I will easily let something play on repeat at least that many times in my lifespan as well (like, a full day of it, at least).
wow i love staring at characters im attracted to for hours on end can i get a HUYEA-

I still get questions about my style change. When people see me post old art of my OCs in a more Mobian style asking why I “gave up” the style. I never gave up on the style. I moved on from it. For me, it’s a key distinction. Nothing big or dramatic took me out of the style. But much more mundanely, my style evolved to the point where it didn’t make sense for me to keep myself, or my OCs in a style I had no attachment to. OCs are deeply personal to every creator. How they evolve is a personal journey for everyone. There's a lot of details the public isn’t privy to, which can make any sudden change, like mine, seem to come out of the blue. My OCs had their own world, life and concepts outside the Sonic universe for over a decade now. Outside the similar style, nothing was related to the universe. Her design has had very little change in 12 years. What sparked the initial change was the loss of my brother. I used to draw comics based on our family, with each character designed nearly together. When I moved to the UK I gave him every hard copy I had. I did have scans but the hard drive I had them in got corrupted. I did ask him to send copies, but sadly he could never get around to it before he passed and the housefire destroyed nearly everything he owned. I still remember what the sister (based on me) looked like, and I decided to give Raye a lot of her markings. Mostly the one my brother liked the most. That was the catalyst that brought change in nearly every aspect of my art. It took a while to realise I would draw my other OCs in a different style next to Raye and then have to change them dramatically to fit with her style, I asked myself “Do I even want to do this style?” And honestly? Not with My OCs. Lothar already changed his OC from echidna to Hyena (I gave him an OC design I had that he resonated with which we later adapted to suit his character) and I’m working on solidifying my character’s stories and interactions, not to mention me coming back from a long hiatus from art, I figured, why not experiment? The current art I do is the one most natural for me. It’s also likely why I’m drawing more frequently because I connect with it on a level I haven’t in a long time. I love my OCs, I love how they interact with each other. I love what their different personalities bring to the table. I feel passionate about the work I do, which has been absent for a long time. This doesn’t have anything to do with what style I use, but rather with trying to keep myself in a bubble that wasn’t right for me. Forcing to do art, in any style you don’t particularly connect can be damaging to growth. Being able to let go of nostalgia for my own, personal art was the best thing I could have done.  Does that mean I hate the Mobian style? No. In fact, I admire people who are able to do the style so effortlessly and connect with it on a near-spiritual level. I have no hate for the style and will continue to admire and watch others grow with this style. And as for drawing it again, I have no qualms drawing it to the style I had before, especially when others present me with their OCs to draw. But for my own personal art and my OCs? I’d keep the current trajectory. Draw what makes you happy. It’s life-changing.

actually fuck it ik literally no one asked but here r some concepts for the fucked up roommates au aka scourge and fiona become roomies w surge and kit (mostly just some background info on how the wound up in the idwverse + the characters relationships/dynamics w each other)
so BASICALLY im thinking that the super genesis wave that forced the archie comics to reboot didnt actually DESTROY the multiverse, or at least not all of it; but it did cause the multiverse to shatter, and for certain characters to get scattered around and wind up in universes that r not their own. but ofc, scourge and fiona are used to this. what theyre NOT used to is not being in control of their own dimension-hopping and being unable to get back, especially since their homeworld as they knew it was essentially destroyed. they have nowhere else to go and just wander around trying to figure out where they are. ofc, when they find out that sonic exists in this world too, they become EXTREMELY annoyed. scourge in particular wants revenge, and if he cant have revenge on archie!sonic, he may as well have revenge on this worlds sonic.
thats when they somehow stumble across surge and kit (havent figured out how exactly they meet yet lol) and quickly find out they share the same goal. they actually get into a fight at first, but end up having to call it a draw due to their similar strengths. they eventually get to talking abt how much they fucking hate sonic and this leads to them deciding to team up--for now.
surge is, at first, frustrated to learn that theres another sonic. but ofc, when he tells her abt his world and what hes trying to accomplish, she realizes how similar they are and agrees to form a team w him. theyre basically frienemies and each of them plans to betray the other at some point since they each want to be the one to kill sonic, but for now theyre making ends meet. meanwhile, surge and fiona have kind of a weird flirty thing going on. at first, surge isnt sure how to respond to fiona flirting with her, since thats never happened to her before, but she quickly starts to return the flirting simply bc it pisses scourge off. this has lead to her and scourge getting into more than a few fights, but it never escalates to anything super devastating....at least, not yet it hasnt.
scourge, as i said before, is primarily motivated by revenge. he knows he most likely wont be able to return to his homeworld, or the world that archie!sonic comes from, so hes decided to make lemons into lemonade and try a fresh start w a new quest for power. he respects surge’s abilities and thinks its hilarious how she almost killed sonic. he sees her as a powerful ally, even if, again, he plans on betraying her once he gets close to killing sonic. it pisses him off how she and fiona flirt with each other tho, but fiona assures him its just teasing and that shes still loyal to him. he mostly ignores kit, seeing him as a doormat who just happens to have a very useful power. he knows not to mess w him in front of surge, and mostly just talks to her abt anything he might want kit to know. he doesnt see kit as being as important as surge and views him more as an asset than anything else.
fiona is fascinated by this new world and, like scourge, wants an opportunity to try again at the whole “taking over the multiverse” thing. shes largely amused by surge and kit as a group, but has different opinions on each of them individually. she flirts with surge mostly bc she likes to make scourge jealous (bc shes a toxic girlboss and likes when hes possessive over her), but she would be lying if she said she didnt have at least some romantic interest in her. but she assures scourge that shes still loyal, and she has no plans to actually act on her interest in surge beyond playful teasing. kit, however, she is the most amused by. she likes to bully him (behind surges back ofc) bc he reminds her of tails--or, at least, her universe’s version of tails, when she knew him. she often calls him things like “twerp” and “brat” and talks down to him. she knows kit wont tell on her bc he doesnt want to ruin the alliance bc its important to surge, and she exploits that. unknown to surge and kit, shes been trying to search for the rest of the destructix, but she hasnt had any luck in finding them; its currently unknown whether they even survived the super genesis wave, let alone wound up in the same universe as them.
kit does not like scourge and fiona, but bc surge doesnt seem to mind them, he ofc does nothing abt his dislike of them bc he doesnt want to disappoint surge. hes better at brushing off scourge’s treatment of him bc he doesnt go out of his way to bully him like fiona does. hes especially nervous abt fiona, but he again wont tell surge abt her behavior bc he knows surge is romantically interested in her. overall he distrusts scourge and fiona heavily, but bc he trusts surge more than anyone else in the world, he puts his faith in her, does what she says, and tries his best to toughen up and ignore their rudeness. poor kit is just kind of the doormat of the group unfortunately :(

The Origin of Worldview
So this is going to be a semi-personal, but also a semi-explanation post about alot of the background info regarding Worldview.  Yes it’ll be a long somewhat boring wall of text for many of you, but to ME it’s words I feel need to be said and it would mean the absolute world to me if people would take the time to hear me out.  Even if its only gonna be the five of you that continue on after this. Anyway...
Worldview technically started forming in my mind when I was probably about fifteen. (For reference, at the time of writing this, I’m about half a year to thirty-one) I was really into doing comics, I had done probably a hundred pages of a really dumb fantasy comic I came up with when I was TWELVE, a Sonic fancomic, and every morning on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I would upload my micron inked and colored pencil story about some DnD characters into the school scanner to post on Drunkduck which is probably all still there today. Adventure’s Guild is missed in my heart, for sure.  But in between looking for my first job, the constant writing and doodling I was doing, and my schoolwork I was tossing another idea around in my head. A really DUMB idea, cuz ya know I was FIFTEEN. And I wanted to call it ‘My Big Brother the Ninja’. At the time I was influence by all the dumb anime I was watching and my best friend at the time who always wore black and stood about two feet over me. I don’t know if he’ll ever read this, but trust me if he knew I was talking about this he would recognize this story right away.  Well. My first job came around, along with my post secondary college work, and then a tech school I paid for, and.....life really started to get in the way of development. I was more focused on drawing Adventures Guild and other doodles for a long time, and soon enough taking care of my daughter took precedence over everything, and then I started sewing, and doing conventions....and the idea of ‘My Big Brother the Ninja’ was just stuck in the back of my head. Sitting. Waiting. Forming slowly as it waited for its existence - its time in the sun.  And at some point I decided I wanted Android/Robotic like characters too...some of my FAVORITE series are Kikaider : The Animation and Chobits (the books, not the infants show they try to pass a a fully written anime) - things like that. So I KNEW long before Worldview had a proper name I would be writing robot characters with a twist. But I couldn’t figure out what that twist was, what would make it work. The whole idea was still....building. It needed a push.  Right around the time My Hero Academia came around everyone with a creative mind seemed to be suddenly struck with a similar idea - what if unique powers WEREN’T so unique in a world?  This is fairly common now, but at the start of MHA I remember finding it weird that suddenly every half the new shows out had a whole population of super powered badasses in a world where living daily life with it was more the norm than the exception.  And I remember finding it REALLY weird this all came out the same time I evolving a similar idea for my own thing.... I wish I could prove I was evolving this ideas before I saw em but I can’t. I have a much deeper theory about the evolution of cultural art and how influences drive creative minds to similar conclusions but that’s a LONG mental dive for another day.  ANYHOW.
So my original idea in ‘My Big Brother the Ninja’ was the Ninja would be the weird super power in the normal world.  NOW I wanted the NINJA to be the ‘normal’ one...and the younger sister would be the WEIRD one because she DIDN’T have some sort of power or ability.  I fell in love with this new dynamic and now things were REALLY starting to come together in my mind, what kind of powers were people gonna have, just HOW mundane was it gonna be, how many fantasy elements did I want to have?  Because I already KNEW another element I really wanted to include was modern day Paladins - and YES I WILL be covering modern-day style Paladins in Worldview proper, but this meant the universe needed a Deity system, a hierarchy or pantheon.  And the world just started to grow....but something was still MISSING, the binding, the elements of what all I wanted to do -  Aaaaaaaaaand then came UNDERTALE.  And yes this ENTIRE long post is just me mini ranting about how WV came to be so people can TRULY understand just HOW much is inside MY universe so we can stop tagging it as part of the UT Multiverse please and thank you - it’s not that I don’t UNDERSTAND the confusion, but here is your ultimate ‘for the record’ post regarding mine and @little-noko ‘s personal frustrations. Undertale was obviously a HUGE part of pop culture, personal experiences, my life, MANY of my readers lives, I GET why the emotional connection is there and why its the first thing that comes to mind - but the ONLY part I truly was fascinated by with Undertale was the way the Souls were.  PHYSICAL Souls - an actual magical entity that represented a person - THIS idea.  This was my missing piece.  To say artists get inspiration from other artists is beyond an understatement - even Sans and Papyrus are references to Helvetica, right? If not references, inspired by, or ‘great minds think alike’, whatever your argument there....its not uncommon.  And Souls being PHYSICAL was the element I wanted to play with - the idea I wanted to expand on, and so much more I want to go into detail about but don’t want to go into spoilers yet so I’m not going to - and the absolute CRUX of my frustrations when dealing with ‘WV is just UT with different characters’.  Worldview has.....humans. Only humans, divided into four race. Mechanoid. Masic. Skeleton. Metazoan. (The last one exclusively because I wanted an excuse to draw cute cat girls, so sue me)  A pantheon of Gods. It’s own world map. Special BIOLOGY that I have developed to work specifically with the races I have built. Ability trees (diagram to come, don’t worry, we’re just still working out the kinks).  It’s own countries, nationalities, and even it’s own tangible form of afterlife which I blame watching WAY too much Supernatural on but HEY Reapers are freaking COOL man.  It’s absolutely gut wrenching painful to have people argue with me over a world that I have nurtured and slowly tended to for a good fifteen years...now that it finally, FINALLY gets a chance to exist and be worked on....I feel like the one binding element I finally found and played with and tried to expand on is the ONLY element that people care about. As if absolutely EVERY other element that I want to show just - doesn’t EXIST. We started with Finch because its a good transition from the old projects to the new and it’s the earliest event in the timeline - nothing more than that. But I’m almost starting to feel like that was a mistake because it’s TOO familiar.  There’s no going back now, and thats fine. But it does make me anxious to move on to the next ‘chapter’ we’ll be delving into.  MAN.  I hope that helps clarify a few things.  I love answering questions (those that I can) about  WV...so my ask box is always open.  For those that made it, thanks for listening. :)

i’ve been thinking about the future of the mcu and realized there’s a LOT that i didn’t know/didn’t remember in terms of where things are going so i figured i’d sum it up incase anyone else was in the same boat!!
quick recap of (unresolved) mid-credit scenes:
doctor strange: mordo (a sorcerer that is one of strange’s mentors, who by the end of the movie becomes disillusioned with magic/the ancient one and quits) confronts pangborn (the paraplegic who healed himself with the mystic arts, who tells strange about mystic arts in the first place) and steals his magic because according to mordo, there are “too many sorcerers." of note, this guy is typically a villain in the comics but hasn’t been thus far...
gotg2: ayesha (leader of the sovereign, a golden skinned alien race obsessed with genetic purity), after spending most of the movie chasing the guardians for stealing some stuff, is revealed to have created an artificial being named “adam” which is presumably, adam warlock. (other stuff that is less relevant: kraglin appears to take up yondu’s mantle; the ravagers regroup and several old and obscure comic book characters are introduced [charlie-27, aleta, martinex, mainframe]; the watchers are watching things.)
far from home: j jonah jameson basically tells the whole world spider-man’s secret identity, and frames him for what happened with mysterio....making him public enemy #1. ALSO, turns out nick fury and maria hill in the movie were ACTUALLY the two skrulls from captain marvel (talos and soren) attempting to do their job, while the real fury (and presumably hill) is ... up in space on some spaceship!!!
wandavision: monica (who we can assume is photon) is called by “an old friend of [her] mother’s,” up in space, which presumably means fury, talos, or carol. ALSO, wanda sits in the middle of nowhere reading the darkhold and hears the voices of her children who.. by all accounts, should not exist.
aaaaand what we know about future movies (i’m not even going into the tv series.....):
black widow:
takes place after civil war
nat confronts a “dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past,” likely has to do with taskmaster who has apparently taken over the red room where nat was trained as an assassin
prominent new characters: yelena belova, who will take over the mantle of black widow after this; alexei shostakov aka red guardian, an ollllld marvel hero analogous to captain america except for the soviet union.
tony stark will make an appearance... SOBS
shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings:
shang-chi has never been seen in the mcu before, but he is, essentially, a superhero that is a master martial artist, and in some adaptations can also create duplicate (fake) versions of himself to confuse opponents
main villain will be the the mandarin who we have *sort of* seen before... he is the leader of a terrorist organization called “ten rings” whose main goal is to destroy world peace. brief history -- in iron man 1: one ten rings cell kidnaps tony stark and tries to force him to make weapons (he of course, makes his suit instead). stark and ten rings become enemies and fight a bunch. nat and nick fury fight them too. in iron man 3, the villain aldrich killian hires a dude to pretend to be the mandarin and claim responsibility for a bunch of stuff, but its not the ten rings or the mandarin at all. this makes the mandarin v mad and he has a dude kidnap the faker to punish him. they also briefly show up in ant-man, when a ten rings agent tries to buy the yellowjacket suit that darren cross is selling. BUT IN SHANG-CHI....... looks like we are FINALLY going to see the real mandarin after over a decade!!
the villain razor fist will also show up, he is lesser known... he has no superhuman powers but he has surgically replaced his hands (1 or 2, depending on the version) with a steel blade, and is highly skilled at hand to hand combat.
besides the presence of these characters, the only bit of plot we know is “shang-chi is drawn into the ten rings organization and forced to confront his past.” so... yeah. we don’t know much at all.
eternals:
quick explanation: the eternals are an immortal alien race who have been secretly living on earth for thousands of years. they were created by the celestials, who are most prominently in gotg2.
more entirely new characters!!! their names are: thena, who can form any weapon out of cosmic energy; gilgamesh, who can make a super strong exoskeleton out of cosmic energy; ikaris, who has superhuman strength, flies, and can project cosmic energy out his eyes; kingo, who can shoot cosmic energy projectiles from his hands; makkari, who creates sonic booms, has super speed, and is deaf; phastos, who has enhanced intelligence, and is also gay (and married with a kid!); ajak, who has healing powers; sprite, who can project illusions; sersi, who can manipulate matter; druig, who can mind control; and dane whitman (black knight), a human with a mystical sword.
regarding the plot... it seems the eternals have kind of dispersed, but have to come together again to fight the deviants, who are their “evil counterparts” (also created by the celestials, though i’m unclear on why). thena and gilgamesh have apparently been in exile, unclear why; sersi, who is posing as a museum curator, has apparently been in love with ikaris for centuries and it seems as if their love story may be central to the film; and kingo is a bollywood film star in his spare time. aaaaand that’s pretty much all we know.
directed by chloé zhao of nomadland fame!
spider-man no way home:
based on the post-credits scene in far from home, peter parker will now be known as spider-man to everyone. unclear if he’s going to be seen as a bad guy due to mysterio framing him, but i guess we’ll see!
jamie foxx is electro, and alfred molina is doctor octopus; which is VERY interesting considering they played these roles in other spider-man franchises, once again stirring up excitement for possible multiverse.
there have been *multiple* reports that andrew garfield, kirsten dunst, tobey maguire, and emma stone will be in the movie but tom holland has repeatedly denied this... so... who knows.
there are also rumors that matt murdock / daredevil (from netflix) will be in several scenes! not confirmed though.
MJ is still his girlfriend and i hope it stays that way!!
doctor strange will be featured in the movie, taking on the mentor role now that tony stark is gone :( this will be interesting as i.. haven’t really seen them interact much before. because of this inclusion some people speculate that the film may draw inspo from some comic storylines where peter’s secret identity is restored with magic.
doctor strange in the multiverse of madness:
scarlet witch is essentially co-starring!!! it’s going to be really interesting to see if they bring vision or the twins into this at all, though i’m not counting on it.
seems like mordo will be the main villain -- recall the ds1 post credits scene where he is apparently running around trying to steal people’s magic.
america chavez will make her debut!!!!!! i have no idea how this plays into anything but i am so excited!!
regarding the plot, all we really know is that strange has been researching the time stone, mordo messes with him, and this results in him accidentally unleashing “unspeakable evil.” presumably there will also be heavy involvement of the multiverse, and who knows what kind of craziness that will bring!!
initially was going to be directed by scott derrickson who did ds1; however he stepped down to being just EP due to “creative differences.” i am presuming this is because derrickson really wanted to make this more gothic and horror than disney was comfortable with. i REALLY hope they keep some of those elements though and don’t erase the idea entirely! anyway, it will be directed by sam raimi now (of evil dead and spiderman 2002 fame).
the film also reportedly ties in with the loki series (will loki show up!?) and spiderman 3 (which is obvious enough, given that strange is in that movie and those curious electro and doctor octopus castings...)
thor: love and thunder
directed by taika waititi again, hell yeah!!! and he has stated, the film will be “so over the top now in the very best way" and would make ragnarok look like a "run of the mill, very safe film" .... so.... oh god
so many great returning players!!! including.... valkyrie (now the king of new asgard), jane foster, lady sif, korg, star-lord, mantis, drax, nebula, and kraglin (takes up yondu’s mantle after he dies in gotg2)
in this movie, thor isn’t thor anymore.... it’s JANE!!! she gets cancer :( and is undergoing treatment while simultaneously being thor. i’m a little nervous how this will be handled, but i’m excited. (it’s based off an amazing comic series by jason aaron)
the big bad: gorr the god butcher, played by christian bale! the gist of it is, this dude HATES gods because nobody helped when his family was dying and in need. his weapon is “all-black the necrosword,” forged from the head of a celestial, and allows the user to create wings and fly at extreme speeds. honestly, he sounds cool as fuck.
valkyrie is going to be made canonically bisexual!!!
it will explore more of korg’s backstory, and also include... space sharks!?!?! an alien race from the comics.
taika has called the script “very romantic” so take that as you will
black panther 2
will again be directed by ryan coogler
not much is known at this point, does not have an official name
t’challa will NOT be recast (which i’m happy about) so..... honestly no idea what to expect for this one. i think we can probably expect shuri to have an expanded role. all we know so far is they will be “exploring the world of wakanda.” not clear to me how this is different from the upcoming wakanda D+ series.
tenoch huerta has reportedly been cast as a villain, but no one has any idea who. there’s also rumors that donald glover is in “informal talks” to play a role. note all of this is unconfirmed.
captain marvel 2
will be directed by nia da costa (candyman!) and written by megan mcdonnell, who is one of wandavision’s best writers!
will take place in the present day
will feature kamala khan / ms. marvel, monica rambeau / photon!!! this will be so interesting.... kamala is a huge fan of carol’s in the comics, she is her mentor/idol. the ms. marvel series will also resportedly lead into cm2. and monica, well, monica knew her when she was a little kid. wandavision implies that there’s some bad blood between carol and monica though, not sure why. maybe because carol left and never came back? (until endgame)
post-credits scene of wandavision appears to tie into this, having monica go up into space at the reqeust of her “mom’s old friend.” again, not clear who that is. this could also be a tie in to secret invasion though, so we’ll see. or both.
zawe ashton has been cast as an unknown villain... a lot of people are actually speculating that she may play rogue? which would be fascinating, as there’s a comic arc where rogue steals her powers and memories. BUT there’s still no confirmation that X-men exist in the MCU so for now i remain skeptical.
they are looking to cast a ‘john boyega’ or ‘michael b jordan’ type which makes me wonder if they are going to create a new character, a “younger” war machine to be her love interest? (note: carol and rhodey are a huge thing in comics!) carol obviously does not look her age but her and don cheadle.... that just doesn’t work. which is why i wonder.
ant-man and the wasp: quantumania
in addition to scott and hope, pretty much all the major players are returning including: luis, hank pym, janet van dyne
cassie lang has been recast with an actress 5 years older, which is really making me wonder if they are going to make her stinger in this movie! (aka one of the main young avengers)
the villain: kang the conqueror! this dude time travels. original name nate richards. in the comics, kang travels back in time to rescue his younger self (nate) from an attack that would help shape him towards a life of villainy. kang also gives him some fancy armor. his younger self actually is like, what the fuck dude? and renounces his destiny, becoming a hero. and he makes his armor look like iron man, calling himself iron lad. who is a young avenger. which also makes me wonder about cassie lang.
otherwise not much is known!
guardians of the galaxy vol. 3
james gunn is returning, i’m mixed about this...he really does *get* the guardians though.
based on the gotg2 post credits scene, i think we can assume adam warlock will be a HUGE part of this. there are multiple versions of him, some villainous and some heroic, but no idea how this is gonna turn out.
no word yet on whether thor will be involved, or if those ravagers they introduced will be involved.
fantastic four
will be directed by the spiderman guy, john watts.
otherwise we know literally nothing.
aaaaand that’s the roundup!

X-Men Abridged: 1976
The X-Men, those fiery mutants that have sworn to protect a world that hates and fears them, are a cultural juggernaut with a long, tangled history. Want to unravel this tapestry? Then read the Abridged X-Men!
(X-Men 97 - 102) - by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum
Tumblr media
If I ever participate in Drag Race, this will be my entrance look. (“Hear me, bitches! No longer am I the woman you knew! I am fierce! I am fashion incarnate! Now and forever, the winner of season 27!” *mugs at camera* ) (X-Men 101)
It really amazes me how quickly Claremont shifts things into high gear. One year in and he absolutely does not calm down, giving us both the Shi’ar, more Sentinels and the (motherfucking) Phoenix. SO LET'S GOOOO
You’d think that, as a telepath, Charles would be used to dreaming absolutely twisted shit, surfing everybody else´s freaky dream waves, but apparently, vividly dreaming of space is so exhausting that he needs a vacation.
Tumblr media
To be fair, I’d be exhausted too if I dreamt of schizo space bugs on detailed splash pages. Get into it, Mr. Cockrum. (X-Men 97)
Meanwhile, Alex and Lorna have absconded to the sizzling Rio Diablo to work on their doctorates. It’s unclear what they’re studying (archaeology?) and where this Rio Diablo is (Panama, Chili, Ecuador?), but considering that Rio means River, I’m unsure whether drawing a dry dry desert is the appropriate setting. But hey, this was the pre-Google era and you’re not here for topographical nitpicking, so.
Lorna is shot by an unknown assailant and continues the long, long history of Polaris being mentally overtaken by other entities. Together with the equally not-himself Havoc, they travel back to NYC and attack the plane Xavier is boarding. The X-Men battle them, until it is revealed that these former not-quite-X-Men are in league with… Eric the Red?
Scott is all: But I was Eric the Red! Also, Eric the Red does not exist!
Xavier escapes, apparently not giving a fuck that all kinds of X-Men are demolishing the JFK airport, but the still-evil Havok and Polaris also get away. The X-Men are shook!
Some time later, The X-Men celebrate X-Mas at Rockefeller Square, where Claremont skips some steps in favour of narrative expediency. Moira and Sean are apparently in a relationship, Jean and Storm are the best of friends. It’s some pretty rough telling, not showing, but we’ll allow it, but only because the Storm/Jean-friendship is one of my favourite things.
Tumblr media
What, you think only the movies indulged in Lee/Kirby-cameos? (X-Men 98)
Anyway, Jean and Scott are attacked by the Sentinels, who continue their trend of being way too sneaky for supersized racist robots! Xavier is kidnapped on his boat trip with super-duper scientist Peter Corbeau (seriously, he has two Nobel Prizes), while they steal away Jean, Sean and Logan in NYC. When they come to, there’s some gloating from Stephen Lang.
Tumblr media
Jean Grey being a literal pin-up while delivering nazi-burns is such a big middle finger to everything she was in the sixties and I am here for it. (X-Men 98)
When the three kidnapped X-Men make a break for it and escape the Sentinel’s clutches, they burst through a wall, only to be greeted by the cold vacuum of space! They’re not on Earth at all: they’re on a formerly SHIELD space station! GASP! (literally)
In secret, Peter Corbeau, inventor of sliced bread, helps the X-Men back on Earth board a space shuttle, where Colossus remembers his brother Mikhail (objectively the worst Rasputin), a kosmonaut who died at the launch of another spacecraft. It’s another Future Plotline Seed©.
The X-Men dodge solar storms which sounds like a made-up contrivance but aren’t, while the Sentinels try to destroy the shuttle. In what the kids these days call a pro-gamer move, the X-Men instead ram the space station and go through to these apparently sub-par Sentinels like Magma through butter. Kurt’s showmanship and Colossus’ loyalty are highlighted, while Cyclops becomes more robotic and repressed the more Jean is in danger.
Tumblr media
Colossus’ secondary mutation is apparently BEING THE BIGGEST DORK. (X-Men 99)
Scott almost kills Stephen Lang, but then Stephen throws his ace in the hole at them: THE OLD X-MEN? This reveal throws us right in the hallmark one hundredth issue!
And, look. Stephen, this is just a terrible plan. Instead of using most of your budget on making more impressive Sentinels, you blow half of it on making janky X-Men clones to… what? Confuse the real X-Men?
It works for a hot minute, but Kurt and Ororo quickly figure out something is wrong. This Beast, for example, isn’t hairy and this Jean doesn’t remember being in Storm’s confidence. Wolverine is the first to snap: acting on instinct, he kills ‘Jean’, proving she’s an android.
Stephen Lang, foiled by the X-Men’s logical thinking skills (which, to be fair, are notoriously unreliable), spews some hatred and accidentally blows himself up. Nothing of value is lost.
Too bad the X-Men can’t return to Earth: their space shuttle is too damaged. I actually love this: going to space is kind of a big deal for most people and the fact that the X-Men have trouble because they’re stranded in space lends them a kind of vulnerability that has been lost over the recent years. Jean steps up to the plate, herds the other X-Men into the protected life cell and assumes the pilot seat of the shuttle. This is after zapping Cyclops into unconsciousness and telling the other X-Men to kindly fuck off when they try to stop her.
As the X-Men descend onto the Earth, Jean’s telekinesis isn’t enough to protect her as she’s engulfed by solar flares. OR IS SHE?
Tumblr media
Nothing funny. All of these panels are just beautiful. Forget those robot copy X-Men, this is why this issue is worthy of being the hundredth one. (X-Men 100)
The space shuttle crashes, rolls over JFK airport before dunking in the water. The X-Men emerge, safe, sound and very lucky and then, defying all odds, Jean emerges as the Phoenix. Fire, life incarnate, etc.
After a brief but melodramatic burst of energy, Jean collapses into unconsciousness and is hospitalized. Wolverine intends to bring her flowers (aw!), before throwing them out when he realizes the gal’s taken, establishing the X-Men’s most famous love triangle. (You can fuck right off with your Scott/Jean/Warren-bullshit.)
Tumblr media
I’m not sure what my favorite thing is here: the absolutely bonkers everybody’s-elated-panel (special mention to Kurt’s boots and his bounce) or the subtle character beat where Kurt goes all heart-of-the-team and checks on Scott, who turns out to be not so stoic. (X-Men 101)
Charles orders all the X-Men (except Scott) to go on vacation, so he can take care of Jean. Like, Charles, you’d think they could just go hang out at the X-Mansion. Instead, they go to Ireland because Sean has conveniently inherited the ancestral Cassidy Keep.
All the X-Men dress up fancy for a welcoming feast, and it seems Kurt and Ororo are flirting? But sometimes, it also seems like Ororo and Piotr are flirting? Listen, I’m not judging: I love these polycule vibes from the early X-Men. Especially because neither Kurt nor Ororo have had particularly satisfying romantic plotlines for the past 20 years.
Tumblr media
I’m not here to insinuate nothing, but last time I said “I enjoy being with both of you”, it ended up in a spitroast. (X-Men 101)
The soiree is interrupted by… THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH, and Black Tom, Sean Cassidy’s evil cousin. They are hired by an unknown someone to kill the X-Men! Since nobody subtle is involved, they quickly wreck the castle and everybody tumbles into the dungeons. (Local news paper reports: gay power couple harasses ill-dressed American tourists.)
This story is mostly a vehicle to tells Ororo’s backstory: Storm, one of the few who could conceivably put up a fight to Cain Marko, feels caged by the cold rocks of Cassidy Keep and is incapacitated by her claustrophobia.
Back in the USA, Charles, who’s heard Storm’s mental anguish, is furious with Scott because he doesn’t hop in a plane to save the other X-Men, even though Scott correctly points out that he’ll never get there in time if he leaves now. Meanwhile, Jean awakens, convinced she somehow brought herself back to life. Yeah, you go girl.
While the rest of the X-Men fight the evil duo in Ireland, Claremont tells Storm’s backstory in a few gorgeous spreads.
Tumblr media
“I could write a novel about Storm’s backstory.” “You get two pages.” “Deal.” (X-Men 102)
Another classic comics trope appears here, where family members are immune to one another’s powers. I have no idea how Black Tom is immune to Banshee’s sonic scream - he has ears.
Tumblr media
Does Black Tom just have a voice in his ears going NEENER NEENER NEENER when Sean screams? (X-Men 102)
When Storm finally pulls herself back together, it’s too late: the Juggernaut has pummeled the other X-Men into a paste and she also falls to his onslaught. IS THIS THE END OF THE X-MEN?!
Other things introduced this year:
Kurt’s image inducer, which he abuses to look like Errol Flynn. (I would abuse it to look like an amalgam of Milo Ventimiglia (ca. Gilmore Girls) and Timothée Chardonnay. OR like Emmy Raver-Lampman.)
The fastball special!
All kinds of name confusion: Lorna is Polaris, Havok is sometimes Havoc and Piotr becomes Peter.
Best new character: Phoenix. Hit me with that iconic shit.
What to read: The Stephen Lang arc is not fully necessary, just read issue 100 and 101. Don’t skip issue 102 if you want to know all about Storm’s past.

@tvvintailed said: is your muse canon divergent in any way? && what are your honest thoughts about your muse’s canon?
— munday asks. ( accepting ! )
Tumblr media
in some regards, i’d say so! for the most part, the sonic i play here is mainly game canon aligned, but i draw inspiration from a lot of his other continuities throughout the franchise too, since the games aren’t always a reliable portrayal of the character (lookin’ at you sonic heroes). i wouldn’t say i really diverge from canon with him more than i just run with what’s given and put my own spin on it. i like filling in the blanks of his story & character and figuring out what’s going on behind the scenes with him - stuff that doesn’t get explained or really touched on in canon. so i guess that’s where the canon divergence hits? there are also just small things here and there that i tweak and tailor to fit what i wanna portray. (for example: i headcanon that when he goes super - his eyes turn gold instead of red. or that when sonic dies, he’ll go on to become a chaos spirit similarly to tikal.)
so, yea! tldr; canon aligned, but with some divergences.
Tumblr media
BOY DO I HAVE THOUGHTS... but i wont go into all of them or i’ll be ranting here all day. i’m someone who grew up on the tail end of the adventure era, so when i think of sonic, i think of games like 06, unleashed, SHtH, heroes, sa1&sa2, chronicles, even the anime sonic x. what always drew me to this series is the wide range of characters and how interesting and unique they all were. sure, you have sonic, he’s the face of the franchise, but then you have all these other ones with different personalities and abilities and motivations. i thought that was the COOLEST SHIT when i was a child (and still do.) what i loved about the old games is that they really utilized these characters with the stories the games were trying to tell. i also loved how dark and unapologetically edgy the series could get. say what you want about games like 06 & shth, but i personally loved how intricate and serious the stories got, because it really makes you realize that there are STAKES to being in these character’s position, and they really are fighting to protect the world from falling into destruction.
these days though, i feel like the game canon has gotten a lot more... restrictive with what kind of stories they’re allowed to tell due to all the mandates. characters either act OOC or just feel... hollow. it’s unfortunate, but it is what it is. i do appreciate what IDW has been doing with the comics, though.

Sonic Ring Bond: The Journey - Scene 46
Finally here, the last scene of the Snowflake story. Was it any good? Did everyone like it? I hope so.
I started it off with such high aspirations and wanted to try and practice better with story structure, but I worry my need to world build and plot out mysteries to follow may have backfired. But everyone can let me know what you think after reading...
Tumblr media
To everyone’s surprise, Mote flew out from Draw’s coat and made a beeline for the red suit of armor. Or more accurately, red autogolem.
With the yellow fairy presenting itself before it, the autogolem stopped and looked at it with a red glowing eye from within a tiny head that resembled something like an eagle beaked snake.
“You…,” the autogolem spoke in a chill, metallic voice.
“Mote!” Draw shouted after the fairy and the autogolem looked up at the group arriving at the giant crystal rose.
“Or perhaps I am mistaken. This group seems unlikely to be one I would affiliate with you.”
Rising to its full height, achieved by standing on the toes of its long, curved feet like appendages, the autogolem towered over Rosy and her friends at a meter and half in height. It appeared massively taller than it was though due to the tininess of its head. From each of its minute shoulder pads, an oar head-like piece of metal rose well past it head and furthered the autogolem’s illusion of height.
“A Ring Mage, and a Yoluku Device. Truly you would not keep such company. Unless things have changed during my slumber.”
Looking down at the fairy that glared up at it, the autogolem silently pondered its situation. Then it spoke two words that surprised Soinc. “Time Break.”
Before anyone could react, the autogolem stood before Sonic, a saber in its right hand leveled under Sonic’s chin. Yet it was Sonic who spoke first, and with no sign of concern.
    “Now that’s a nifty little trick I haven’t seen in a while.”
“Then you are familiar with the arts.”
“Maybe a little,” Sonic confirmed, lifting his hand, and just barely not touching his pointer finger and thumb together in demonstration. But his playfulness did not linger, and a more serious demeanor settled on him. “Though I’m not fond of having a sword leveled at me either. Looking at you, I’d guess it normally isn’t your style.”
So close now, it was easy to make out the clockwork workings beneath the autogolem’s delicate exterior. It reminded Sonic of something he’d seen once, and he smirked as he sought to confirm his guess.
“You’re a knight, right? Like that Claymore the Purple guy? Last time I checked, knights don’t level their swords at the unarmed.”
“Then Claymore is also woken. And you know him, mage?”
“No. And I’m no mage. The name’s Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog.”
“I see. I am Saber. Saber the Red. A Sword Knight. My apologies, Sonic the       Hedgehog, but I have reasons of my own to be wary, woken from my sleep as I am.”
Turning away from the group, Saber sheathed his sword into one of his shoulder pads, revealing the nature of their design. With the threat seemingly past, the group started to talk among each other. Except for Rosy who stepped after the autogolem.
“Hey! What’s the big idea pointing a sword at Sonic!”
“A medium, and marked by Yoluku,” Saber remarked and looked back over his shoulder. Rosy noticed he avoided direct eye contact, but she let him talk as she puffed up her cheeks. “Curious. What is it that Yoluku is playing at now?”
“So, you know what Yolk is?” Rosy asked, her mispronunciation getting the autogolem to turn around.
“You have been made Yoluku’s medium and cannot even…,” The limit of the autogolem’s range of emotions was yet unclear, but it trailed off and began to make a sound very much like laughter. “Hmhmhmhmhm…”
    “Hey! Don’t laugh at me!”
“Let it go kid,” Sonic interrupted Rosy and put an arm between her and the autogolem. “We got what we came for and Mighty is looking pretty tired lugging that radio around everywhere.”
    “It’s really nothing at all–”
“Play along would you Mighty,” Sonic held a hand up and whispered back at Mighty.
“There is little reason to hide your intentions, mage,” Saber responded to Sonic’s attempts to cease engaging the autogolem. Seemingly unbothered and perhaps even amused, he resumed walking away from the group. “All of you, even the medium, are ignorant to what is going on. It is an amusing game that Yoluku plays at.
“But I must know, medium,” Saber, paused and shifted his attention back to Rosy. “Inept as you appear–”
    “Hey!”
“–Yoluku must have sent you for a reason. I would request you tell me.”
“I don’t know. The cards weren’t clear, and it made you sound like a gift or something. I wasn’t expecting another talking golem.”
“Another,” Saber asked eying the group suspiciously. “Curious that you did not mention Claymore. But I have little time if Yoluku has called for me. If we are to continue this exchange of knowledge, it is best we meet away from the hollows of this fading snowflake.”
Advancing on the crystal rose that he had been stationary at before, Saber again drew his sword, and with a single motion split the massive rose in two.
“What are you doing!” Rosy shouted out in surprise, but any answers forth coming were cut off by a sudden sneeze from Sonic.
Rubbing his nose, Sonic made to run. “Time to go everyone!”
~I wasn’t expecting to suddenly have to leave. It’s a good thing everyone else could keep up. There wasn’t much reason for it that we could come up with for why everyone was possessed of speed matching Sonic’s, well except for Draw who had made a Ring Bond with Mote. But even the autogolem, Saber, seemed to have Sonic’s speed, or maybe was even faster.
~I’m sure Sonic would disagree. But, as the entire floating city began to collapse after Saber destroyed the crystal rose and we made it back to Blister’s airship, he was already waiting for us.~
“So, it was by airship that you arrived. Curious, considering you are with a Ring Mage.”
“I’d really appreciate it if you got off my ship,” Blister insisted. “I can’t even use my own autogolems with this golem hunter here.”
Looking at Draw, Blister gave him an exasperated look and irritated the koala. Rosy gave Saber reason to pay attention to her however and asked him a question while the mouse and koala argued.
“I don’t know how you got here ahead of us, but I’m glad you did so I can ask you what’s going on and why you destroyed that crystal rose? Is the whole city going to fall apart? What about the seed people?””
“I figured a naïve medium such as yourself still had questions for me, but it was best to speak under Yoluku’s gaze.”
“I don’t care about that creepy little planet up there, unless this Gear Star Ring in my eye is because of it!”
“You fail to pronounce Yoluku and come up with your own names for the Yoluku Device. I am amused. But the Ring Mage with you surely must know the nature of the Yoluku Device.”
“I already told you, I’m not a mage,” Sonic interjected on his own behalf. “But if you know something…”
“It is best to let you play Yoluku’s game,” Saber laughed and leapt up with a burst of fire well above the ship. With a spin the autogolem’s arms transformed into a pair of wings and it flew off into the distant stormy clouds through which Yoluku watched them all.
~I don’t know what I expected when we went to that weird city in the sky. We were just looking for a Ring Radio for Blister, and maybe so we could get a better connection with Tails. I never expected to find Gill and Mighty. Or to see those weird seed people ghosts. And that knight, he was as weird as the city was creepy. And we didn’t even really talk. He woke up and left. Well, not without breaking what I think was holding the city together.
~As Blister’s ship pulled away into the clouds itself, the whole city crumbled away into dust. It was like a melting snowflake, just like Saber said it was, and only the Ring Radio we came seeking remained to prove we had this little adventure. And maybe that weird knight autogolem, wherever he flew off to.
~Just who were you? It would have been nice and so much less anticlimactic if we could have talked more…~
-|-
In the city of Tower Point, Claymore the Purple stood watching Yoluku in the sky above the observatories that tipped a great deal of the towers from which the city earned its name. His arms were crossed, but he was sure he saw it, even as the red lightning bolt crack that arced across the sky from horizon to horizon surely obscured it.
“So, you’ve woken then as well, traitor,” Claymore spoke to the sky at large. “Then perhaps it is time I seek out the rest of the order. Ho! It will be good to see them all after so long. Perhaps I can even find them all before the banquet.
“No matter. As before, we will win Yoluku’s game and not let the seal fall.”
Scene 46 · CLEARED Snowflake, End
-----
So, that’s a wrap on Snowflake. It was a mystery at the start, and a lost mystery at the end. there were perhaps answers to everyone’s questions within, but new and seeming traitor of a Sword Knight, Saber the Red flew away. I wonder if this story really reached a climax, or if it just feels like the next stepping stone in the Journey. Regardless, as long as everyone enjoyed and is looking forward to what comes next, I’ll be happy! Thank you everyone!
