Star Wars Culture Week Day 1 - Music & Art featuring Barriss! @starwarscultureweek
In my culture, we have special spoons used for percussion. You clack the backs of the spoons together to create a beat to accompany the dance. This is usually done at weddings.
Usually you would have spoons in both hands, but sometimes there are too many people and not enough spoons! Spoons will often break due to the force of people’s clacking (especially if they’re having fun). Many broken spoons on the floor is a sign of a good event.
The first technique I know of is fairly simple - place a spoon face down so the inside is resting against your palm between your thumb and forefinger. Place the next spoon face up so its back is against the back of your first spoon. I prefer to rest it between my middle and ring fingers.
The second technique I find harder to finesse (and I’ve definitely not mastered it yet). Weave the spoon between alternating fingers - pinky, ring and middle with the back facing your palm. Pinch the other spoon with your thumb and forefinger, making sure to have its back facing the back of your first spoon. Now clack away :)

SW Culture Week Day 1- Music
Music for Panthar tends to lean on one side of a spectrum between loud and soft Music that is loud is for celebration and pride. Loud music is composed with lots of percussion and places a lot of importance on vocals. Usually sung components of loud music is vocable as opposed to actual words sometimes with a chant or shouted words in the music. The music is very bouncy and lends well to dancing. These songs are meant to be sung at holidays, celebrations but you’ll hear it most at sports matches. Quiet music is intimate and personal and tends toward natural sounding components like winds, woody percussion or even actual natural sounds. These songs do have sung words often and the music is very soft. They are often songs for families or couples or even a certain place. Of course Panthar music is not only of these two categories but these two are the most popular among Panthar.

For all that Mandalore would paint Satine as their weakest ruler, she is the only ruler of Mandalore to have any Jedi willingly bow to them, let alone have a member of the Jedi Council willing to drop everything and fly across the galaxy on their request. Like having your people's sworn enemy bowing and obeying your orders without question is a pretty BA power move right there...

Obi-Wan and Yoda have no obligations to the Rebellion. There isn't even a Rebellion to be obligated TO when they go into hiding initially. And Obi-Wan IS doing his duty to the Rebellion by protecting one of Anakin's children (they believe Anakin's children might be the only people ultimately capable of taking down the Sith, but they also know that if Anakin and Palpatine get ahold of Luke and Leia and turn them into Sith, all hope is lost). Obi-Wan also clearly has a direct communication to Bail and Breha that they can utilize in dire need, so he's not completely removed from the Rebellion.
Obi-Wan and Yoda are intended to be last resorts. They're considered public enemy #1 to the Empire and if they were out there more obviously fighting in the Rebellion, they'd be getting constantly hunted down by the Empire's full might and probably wouldn't last very long. They might even, at least in the beginning, be more of a hindrance than a help because they could draw attention to a fledgling Rebellion and end up killing it before it has a chance to grow at all. Obi-Wan and Yoda are people the Rebellion has in their back pocket for if all hope is about to be lost and they need to pull out a miracle.
There aren't enough Jedi left to force the few survivors to keep fighting on the front lines, especially when there's next to zero support to keep them from being immediately hunted down and murdered by the Empire. It helps nobody to do that. Ahsoka fights from the shadows for most of her tenure in the Rebellion, but we see in the Kenobi show how quickly Obi-Wan is discovered when he does leave Tatooine. It's a matter of a few DAYS before the Empire is on his tail and he barely manages to escape with the help of other people.
I do think that the whole purpose of Obi-Wan and Yoda being in hiding has been made a little muddied by all of the Jedi characters who have been shown to be fighting in the Rebellion (Ahsoka, Cal, Kanan and Ezra) and so now people go "well if they could do it, why couldn't Obi-Wan and Yoda?" And I get that, but I feel like it misses the point of why Obi-Wan and Yoda chose to go into hiding in the first place. They're protecting the potential future of the Jedi and the last Force sensitive children they even know are left to protect, as well as protecting themselves as potential future assets to the Rebellion and the fight against the Sith and the Empire.

HCs about Tarre Vizsla are cool because we know virtually nothing about him except that he was taken from Mandalorian culture as a child, raised and trained as a Jedi (the people Mandalorians are convinced are their existential enemies) and then after being a fully-fledged, blooded and painted adult Jedi Knight, he showed up and became the Mand'alor. The leader of the entire Mandalorian people. Like, what??? the fuck ?? happened??? I know Mandalorian history is notoriously unstable (understatement of the century, moving on) but what kind of position do you have to be in to take a beloathed arch nemesis who nominally claims Mandalorian heritage as planetary leader? On the other hand, he could've just been so Fucking Chill that the Mandos were willing to overlook the glowing blade and the Temple affiliation and the force powers. Anyway I'm so intensely curious about him I love Tarre fics and hcs give me more, please,

Echo has no idea that his new team doesn't speak the Vode's version of Mando'a. Or, any version for that matter. It causes a bit of a misunderstanding.
-My, likely only, submission for @clonefandomevents clone culture week! Day 1 was surface culture, and the prompt I chose from it was language. Echo introducing the Bad Batch to clone culture is just such a sweet concept to me.

Star Wars Culture Week Day 3 - S.P.I.R @starwarscultureweek
The evil eye is born of jealousy. Consequences of having it cast on you can be minor, like illness, or major, like death. To keep themselves safe from the evil eye, a nazar boncuk was made. It is hung in homes or worn on your person. The Twi’leks created ear cone rings for them to be worn, where the Togruta prefer to hang the nazar on their walls. But the intent is always the same - to be shielded from harm.
"Nazar değmesin." A popular saying that means you hope the evil eye does not touch them. Effectively, good luck to you, touch wood, etc.
(Referenced from my culture - Turkish. Though Turkey isn’t the only culture that has this practice. You’ll often find the nazar in other countries, and the belief of the evil eye spans over thousands of years of history in many religions. All of these are items that I own and wear. I probably have about 15 nazar in total!)

Day 5 - Food
Probably nothing is more popular or easily recognizable than food. Food almost defines a culture before anything else. National dishes and local delicacies help bring countless people together. Immigration, colonialism, disasters, and far-reaching trade networks have changed food maps for eons.
What are the foods that make up Star Wars? What foods would you put into Star Wars? We've seen the tomato slices and drum sticks from The Clone Wars, the infamous war rations, and the popular nuna. Mandalorians have uj cake, while Jedi might have their own versions of home delicacies. Maybe there are outer space versions of jollof rice or moon cakes. Show us what you got!

Star Wars Culture Week Day 2- Language
Panthar have a spoken language and sign language both used together quite often. There is a spoken language that is primarily used when dealing with off worlders and non panthar. Many panthar do know basic and often switch from basic to panthar and back again. Spoken language became more popular as the rate of eye deformities rose within the panthar population.
Panthar speak with a distinct accent. Sounding close to midwestern or Minnesotan accent.
More often used among panthar is pawspeak, which is a universal sign language across Ferol.  Pawspeak was developed as a way to silently communicate during hunts and within their packed living homes. It’s predominantly used and often mixed with the spoken language.
