In a way, I’ve come full circle with my obsession with Franziska Von Karma. When I was 14, my gay awakening was this woman:
And they’re practically the same character 😭😭😭
(Zuko and Edgeworth have a lot in common too but that’s a separate conversation)
And because I like lists, here’s a list of their similarities:
Striving for perfection and not allowing themselves be anything less
Talks down to their older brother (who has a strained or complicated relationship with their father)
They breakdown when when they aren’t perfect
They’re prodigies in their respective fields
Very emotionally repressed
Very precise in their words, appearance, and fighting style.
Very confident despite being bested by the protagonist(s) multiple times
Gifted kid syndrome
Emotionally unavailable
Raised by evil dad
Fully grown adults cower from these ladies
Their brothers eventually join the protagonists
I also think Zuko and Azula’s mom works as a parallel to Edgeworth’s dad

Last minute entry for @galladrabbles !
Lightning
It was a perfect night. Thunder banged, rain pattered against the window, and the moon was nowhere to be seen. Mickey was content under Ian's heavy arm, watching the storm.
Then lightning stuck, and something in the closet moved with a very familiar whir.
"Ian," Mickey said slowly, gripping the arm around his waist. "I thought you took the batteries out of the vibrator."
"Hmm?" It came out garbled, Ian's face smashed against Mickey's shoulder. "I did."
"Then why's it movin'?"
A pause, then:
"It must miss your ass," Ian mumbled sleepily, tightening his hold. "Now go back to sleep."

Big Island Mike's shave ice too expensive for you? Here is a pretty simple recipe for making your own for day 15 of Drewtober!
Here is my cherry, coconut, and banana interpretation (definitely my favourite flavours and not at all because I didn't have any other flavouring extracts or juices left).

Ask Game - SPBNR (love all your stuff, but I know this one best)
So the captured volcano scene? the one where Smith had his talk with Garmadon and the escaled?
yeah that originally was never supposed to happen. Smith was going to get there, be in an actual cell instead of being hung over lava, and was going to be fully awake when Garm came. Originally the scene was going to go with Garm questioning Smith on whether he was Koko’s kid or not, and Smith wasn't even going to escape by himself.
However, for some reason I ended up changing my mind to the lava thing, and when I was writing Smith being escorted I had just gotten off a flight around 8:30 and was really tired, and in a brilliant moment of projection it became a thing.
Smith going absolutly FERAL wasnt planned either

Before he was Jack Dawson or any of the other iconic roles he’s played, Leonardo DiCaprio was Luke Brower on Growing Pains, an orphan who stays with the Seavers while they help him find a foster home.
Growing Pains was a mid-80s/early-90s sitcom and the heavy-handedness of 80s sitcoms is definitely present in the clip. That being said, he’s 16 here, if I remember correctly, and just by watching this, it’s obvious that this kid was going to go places.

Silly-dilly-dally
I'm a silly-dilly-dally of a person
and I'll never understand
Cause I never went to college
And I'm just a simple layman laying
Around in my bed all day
Knife in my pocket that
I don't know how to use
And I'm wasting all my money
On these things I can abuse I'm wasting
Around in my bed all day
Lazy
Wasteful
Pull yourself together and
Get a job and
Don't mind the weather and
Stay on top
Do you know what you're good for
Stupid
Selfish
Pick up your pieces and
Don't be a slob and
You know where this speech goes
One more step
It is all you are good for
Dried flowers in the window
with their petals on the floor
Lost all their pollen
They aren't useful anymore a pity
Just hanging around all day
Cat claws on the curtains
that I don't know how to fix
Shredded into pieces and they're
Missing tiny bits in taters
Just hanging around all day
Lazy
Wasteful
Pull yourself together and
Get a job and
Don't mind the weather and
Stay on top
Do you know what you're good for
Stupid
Selfish
Pick up your pieces and
Don't be a slob and
You know where this speech goes
One more step
It is all you are good for
Put me into line
This whole charade's a fault of mine
And now I know why you can't stand to see my face
Push me one more time
But it's ok I do not mind
I know that I need to learn to stay in my place
Put me into line
This whole charade's a fault of mine
And now I know why you can't stand to see my face
Push me one more time
But it's ok I do not mind
I know that I need to learn to stay in my place
Put me into line
This whole charade's a fault of mine
And now I know why you can't stand to see my face
Push me one more time
But it's ok I do not mind
I know that I need to learn to stay in my place
Lazy
Wasteful
Pull yourself together and
Get a job and
Don't mind the weather and
Stay on top
Do you know what you're good for
Stupid
Selfish
Pick up your pieces and
Don't be a slob and
You know where this speech goes
One more step
It is all you are good for
One more step
Do you know what you're good for
One more step
Do you know what you're good for
Don't take a step
Till you know what you're good for
