The whole concept that in order to help or save someone you have to like them?

There's more than just that.

A doctor or a nurse don't have to like their patients in order to save them or do everything humanly possible to save them. Firefighters don't have to even empathize with the victims in order to protect them or attend their calls.

I understand why it's more compelling to think about saviors loving wholeheartedly the people they save, but sometimes people just love what they do, their jobs, and not the people they help or save. They can be nice and gentle and caring, because it's their job or they like what they do, they can be very competent or even the best in what they do. They can do it for their sense of duty or for something else entirely.

I find this concept really interesting when depicted in fiction, being honest.

Safety

I haven’t seen anyone point this out but as I was reading 19 days, I noticed a detail that showed up a few times.

After Mo got beaten up and taken care of by He Tian, he started to subconsciously attach himself to He Tian

Here are a few moments:

First one I noticed was this panel. Maybe I’m blind but I never recall seeing Mo hug a pillow while sleeping. He shows up at He Tian’s house after learning that He Tian really cares for him and boom there you have it.

While Mo sleeps he’s hugging a pillow that smells like He Tian to gain comfort and safety.

Maybe he just wanted something to hug, but ima read deeper into it cause I can and say that he’s slowly starting to slip up and reveal what he truly feels without realizing it. He’s finally been given the confirmation that He Tian truly loves and cares about him and it makes him feel safe, hence him hugging He Tians pillow cause his assigns it with feeling safe and cared for.

This was a big turning point for sure because it is here that you can see that Mo wants He Tian. He started the night facing away from him, walls still up, but when he fell asleep his emotions showed.

Not only did he turn around into He Tians arms, but he too grabbed onto him while sleeping. This points back to my idea of Mo aligning He Tian with safety and comfort. Mo’s body knows what Mo wants, but he is in denial and refuses to acknowledge his love for him. That’s why when Mo is not aware of his movements, his subconscious takes over and glues itself to safety, in this case being He Tian.

Kk last one:

Here we know that Mo was having a nightmare about his past childhood with his dad. Once again we see that in his sleep he was grabbing onto He Tian.

You can even see that Mo is shocked at the gesture he made whilst asleep. It’s very clear that his desire got much stronger over the past few days he spent with He Tian. He once again clung onto the source that makes him feel loved and cared for without knowing.

It’s obvious that something changed on the night Mo got attacked, and we now know that he finally gave into his emotions, but I still love seeing these small details add up. It makes you wonder how much Mo really feels for He Tian but just keeps it on the down-low.

When Sanji sacrifices himself he's aware of what he's doing. He knows exactly what is at stake and how much he's given and why his act is bad to others or himself, why it must be done either way. From what I see, it's a reflection of his self-esteem and his desire to put others first, it's guilt and it's self-punishment and he knows, okay?

When Zoro sacrifices himself he's insane, batshit crazy. He doesn't want to die per se, he doesn't hate himself and doesn't do it out of punishment. His dreams are bigger than his life, they are more valuable, so he's never afraid to put his life at risk when it comes to fulfilling what he thinks his duty is. You could say it's his honor or his code of life— Zoro can survive the deadliest wounds, the worst circumstances, 'cause he doesn't seek death, it's just that he won't avoid it either.

I love that contrast and how clear it is during the encounter of Zoro and Mihawk in Baratie.

i want mo’s first kiss with he tian to be so delicate and soft and nervous that he tian is not even sure it actually happened. but when mo pulls back and sees that he tian is not lunging at him like he expected, he goes in for a second. and this time it feels real for both of them. it feels safe and good. and maybe that’s it, or maybe they go a little further.

Mo looks like the the type of person to really like tomatoes. He looks likes he enjoys tomatoes on his sandwich (ofcourse) or hot tomatoes soup for when he's sick or for cold weather

I can also see him liking chillie for when he's in the mood for spice

I also feel like mo Is a HUGE fan of Strawberries and raspberries (mix fruit in general but I feel like strawberries and raspberries are his favorite :,) )

Mo looks across the table to see he tian sitting watching mo with a hand prop up on his chin. Mo blushes at he tian question he couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed under he tian's gaze. "They taste like how roses smell." Mo looks away embarrassed and somewhat nervous to meet he tian's face again

But little to mo it makes he tian's heart swell and beat faster when he talks like that. Like himself.

The words that left mo's mouth had such an honest and innocent aura to it

He tian can't help but fall in love all over again with just mo's simple words

I just thought it was a cute scenario/headcanon. What do you guys think the boys and other 19 days characters favorite foods are(Fruit, Vegetables, Candy, Drinks, flavors etc.).

I want more of Theron with his undercover hairstyle. That is all.

Not Jian Yi for sure, kudos to OX for giving us hope in the middle of the chapter only to stab us in the dick right after that but once you digest the pain you see the light at the end of the tunnel and no is not because you passed out

Remember this compromise that my beloved baby brother in law had to make in order to get Guan Shan back??? For me it seemed a little unfair but it was HT’s choice and I respect that, anyway I don’t want to open old wounds but I need you to think for a little bit the big opportunity that Jian Yi gave to us, yeah I read most people saying that there was no plan but the plan is made by OX and they’re awesome and perfect and I’m getting exited here with all the possibilities, so besides my man ZZX now HT is free to retaliate against SL because no matter what Mo may have thought at the beginning this is not only his business this is the poly friendship business and I don’t think JY would ask anyone to let him resolve this by his own means since this wasn’t his fight to begin with, he was smart enough to offer an amicable solution, yes you heard me that was a smart move, now She Li drew first blood that means that JY and HT have all the rights to do something like Rambo did and is justified, thanks to this HT is not bound by his promise to Mo, the problem is obviously with HT so he can do as he pleases, THANK YOU JIAN YI !!! your suffering will be avenged.

I get a little confused seeing posts about she li having a twisted affection for mo especially after the last couple chapters and I just have to disagree, wildly personal opinion go off with your head cannons I eat fan fics up, but as for the story I don’t see any romantic or sexual affection for mo through his actions. Weird twisted possessiveness for sure but that doesn’t mean affection. HT has a weird twisted possessiveness towards mo about him too but you can tell it’s from a place of affection, attraction and desperation. With she li he just seems to want to own mo and have someone he believes should belong to him, belong to him.

hello again! Do you think after he tian leaves he'll keep contact with mo?? In the chrismas special it seems like they didn't keep contact but somehow mo knew he tian *was* going to come back... and do you think they separated in good terms? Or he tian just left with no warnings?

hello angel! i'm sooo pleased you asked this to open up the conversation - after looking over the christmas chapters again (thankyou whoever posted it in the tag for reminders!!) and i've been wondering about something (and this gives me the opportunity to mention it here hahaa)

has OX been preparing us for this relationship change for years? i am really excited to see what the next chapter will be, because i think recent chapters have made it POSSIBLE for there to be something revealed in the christmas chapters which FITS with the current narrative. like what if they'd been closer in the christmas chapters than they currently are, it would be kind of confusing and unthinkable? i've read a lot of comments being like - things make SENSE at the moment which is always something i've struggled with over the christmas chapters.

i think when tian leaves it almost... doesn't matter to ME about whether he keeps in contact because i assume if he doesn't it's because he CAN'T or he was stopped. i think that period of time for them is so hard and i'm like bracing myself for it lmao but from what we know of he tian now i just refuse to believe he would go no contact with mo without good reason or an obstacle.

again, i think if tian leaves without warning (and HAS mo been warned with finding the note 'will he care if i leave' - paraphrasing sorry) again, it isn't by CHOICE unless he BELIEVES that it's for the best. either so mo can forget and hate him, or because of the situation. i think it's going to be SO HARD whatever it is! i just hope that mo has some understanding of what's going on so that he knows at least 1. that tian WANTS to contact him or 2. that he simply can't.

lastly i would be super interested to try out our theory - what chapters had been released (maybe the past four/main storyline at the time) alongside the christmas chapters? i think OX in their infinite wisdom HAS planned to line up the christmas chapters with what is appropriate to REVEAL at the time?? and i think it took me a while to believe in this. i think even tho the christmas chapters are fun and 'extra' they do give us insight into the future relationship between tianshan and for me personally they didn't match up (at least the early stuff) until LIKE THIS PAST WEEK hahahah

what's your favorite/most interesting character to write for?

HMMM you're probably not asking about my ocs, right? So making this about bnha...

Tomura, for sure. I feel a connection to him, like I understand him to a deeper degree. It comes like instinct, I don't even have to think to hard when I'm trying to write from his pov.

Tomura is a wonderful character because he's a manga protagonist on his own. As Tenko you have a more classical approach, a happy kid willing to help other who suffered on his childhood, but it's still trying to fulfill his dream and become a hero. Tomura however is way more in tune with today's mangas like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, etc. Kids who were dealt a bad hand in life, whose inheritance weights on their shoulders, who have a destructive power within them that threats the entire world and yet can be used to protect, save.

The degree of maturity and seriousness Tomura's story brings to bnha can't be underestimated. His for me are the most important monologs of the manga. That, combined with the implications of his story and the possibilities of where you can take it...

Definitely my favorite character to write for.

the only one that comes to mind is, i don't like byler, i don't really care about any of the kids ships (lumax is an exception i love lumax) but i just think will deserves better!
