yall i miss jily😭😭😭 not like its gone but like the marauders used to be so happy sunshine gryffindor vibes. but also i feel like we collectively all forget how much james potter HATED slytherin. idk i also think that yes death eaters were humans BUT they also killed so many people like are we forgetting that barty crouch jr literally tortured alice and frank longbottom he is at fault for neville growing up without his parents😭 i genuinely think that people forget that evan, barty etc. actually killed people and killed people who were probably friends with the marauders. ik that everyone deserves a second chance but seriously???? do you actually think that the rosiers were good people and didn't hate and discriminate against muggleborns??? NOT EVERYONE HAS A TRAGIC BACKSTORY IDK SOME OF THEM ARE JUST EVIL. the way everyone defends evan rosier (love his character but i have beef with the way he gets away with being a death eater later on) but snape, who i absolutely detest, hate and think should have died earlier, who also actually did something that was not evil in his lifetime, is the most hated marauders character like????? and the black sisters???? yes love a complex female character but are we seriously trying to redeem bellatrix? do we not remember WHAT SHE SCARED ON HERMIONE LIKE WHAT. and love the newer marauders fandom but everyones so emo and depressed this is supposed to be FUN. also the characters feel so ooc. everytime i see casanova remus lupin im like 'huh thats supposed to be sirius and james???' love remus but my boy aint rizzing anyone up hes a shy af introvert. and jegulus is so cute but remember that james is #no.1slytherinhater and he was absolutely smitten with lily evans FROM THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. REMEMBER WHEN JILY WAS THE BACKBONE OF THE MARAUDERS? like they ate fr. this became a whole ass paragraph damn i did not know i had so much to say about this. i can lowkey already sniff the comments or thoughts saying 'oh let us have our fun its just a story' im not stopping you this is just my opinion. 'oh none of this is actually proven' please give me a break😭🙏 like most of the source material goes against the fandoms perception of the marauders. 'fuck jkr we'll do what we want' youve basically just made 10 million ocs and give them names of characters like im eating up all the marauders content but genuinely can we go back to the happier times??

when you have a player who stayed at one club for twelve years, always commited to this club, saying no to way more lucrative offers from top clubs from all over europe, it's a matter of respect to give him what he wants, which is to retire with this club. you don't let him go.

merlin trusting arthur with the only weapon that can bring him actual harm is less about trusting him not to hurt him and more about accepting what would happen if arthur did hurt him
he gives him his heart, not because he trusts him not to crush it, but because he’s okay with his heart being crushed if it’s arthur doing it
death is welcome but only if it’s for arthur. be it for arthur or by arthur

tbh I don’t really love the “eddie is a violent bad boy” type head cannon because as far as I could tell he welcomed misfits, was essentially avoiding conflict/danger as much as possible until he decided to sacrifice himself (😡) and was just generally kind and seemingly riddled with anxiety due to the horrific events he was witnessing? Idk.

Unpopular opinion but I firmly believe that Sirius would have been the first to know about jegulus. He knows his brother and his best friend better than he knows himself. Also I don't think that Sirius was this oblivious person that a lot of people make him out to be. He grew up in a household that you always had to be on guard in, that's not something that goes away (at least for me).

People are very fond of saying that Alicent is the one who put her family's lives in danger because she made the decision to press Aegon's claim to the throne. According to them, Rhaenyra would never have done anything to her brothers if they simply never challenged her rule.
I just don't think that holds up for a number of reasons but one is in fact Ser Laenor.
Let's consider that from Alicent and the Greens perspective, this guy was enabling Rhaenyra's lies. It wasn't a matter of just being uncertain over whenever he fathered those children and just choosing to believe in the end that he did, it was a matter of being fully aware those boys weren't biologically his.
And I have played my part here, faithfully… for 10 years.
The part Laenor is talking about here is "faithfully" maintaining that he is the boys' biological father for a decade. That's a long time to lie for someone. But he does it.
And yet despite this, he ends up being "murdered". And who does Rhaenyra marry very soon after despite the suspicions about her being guilty that surround her for years after? Daemon.
As Alicent obviously isn't all knowing, with what she is given, Rhaenyra & Daemon chose to get rid of someone who never once put the claims of her children in danger.
How then do people expect Alicent to think "well, as long as I don't do anything we should be fine." As if Laenor wouldn't be an example to her of that obviously not being the case.

Sorry not sorry, but if you consider Selina a Batfamily member, you have to consider Talia as one also. Especially since Damian is actually canon and Helena is just AU.
They are both Batfamily members. Hell, Harley and Harvey are members also because of their relationship with Bruce.
(It seems to me you all are basing Selina as being a member on her relationship with Bruce. So by that logic, Talia should be one also, if Damian isn’t taken into consideration.)
IF SELINA IS CONSIDERED A BATFAMILY MEMBER, SO SHOULD TALIA.
Parents are part of families, different parts but still family. So Talia has more claim than Selina does. Especially if Bruce is single (which he should be).

[spoilers for blue eye samurai ep 5]
what really breaks my heart is that mikio probably never loved mizu, he loved the grateful and humble housewife he wanted for himself. he loved showing off, pretending like he is this honorable swordman when he actually diserted when he had the possibility to fight, and i believe he loved mizu to the extent she could appease his ego. when mizu falls in love with him (and i think that if mizu loves someone, she loves them wholeheartedly) and she allows herself to be vulnerable and she tells him that she can use a sword, he asks her to show him because deep down he doesn't take her seriously.
during their sparring mikio is forced to understand that mizu the woman and mizu the wife arent the same person at all. she is an amazing fighter despite being self-taught, she is probably more skilled than most men will ever be and thats very different from the imagine of the humble bride mikio has in his head. he couldn’t accept that. and whats truly heartbreaking is thar mizu was finally happy for the first time in her life. she was playful and serene and she probably thought she found her place in the world. somwhere she was loved and didn’t have to hide and maybe she could have had her own family. but she couldn’t because mikio never loved her in the first place. he only loved himself.

I want you all to know that im this excited bc my game is completely pir*ted. This will all be free to me. Yes in my opinion it's ridiculous that it didn't all come with cottage living. I think we should all pirate the hell out of this game and stop encouraging them to cut all this content and launch they all separately

Controversial opinion - Ashton was the only one out of the hells that actually listened to Fearne and accepted that she didn't want the shard. The others wanted to follow what they had been told, despite the fact that Fearne was terrified of taking it.
Ashton asked her if she was ok and if she was sure she wanted to give the shard to them, and everytime she said yes. That's not manipulation.
Despite how much we love the others they would have encouraged her to take the shard, even though she was clearly scared. To my knowledge, Fearne didnt share her vision of her possible future self, at least not recently. If she had I think there would have been more of a discussion.
Ashton is so soft with Fearne, they wouldn't have gone through this if they knew how awful this situation would turn out.
Ashton has always just wanted to help their friends, even at the detriment to themself. I can't imagine that it was easy to constantly be told that him and Fearne were fated to take the shards together. Ashton hates fate because if things are fated it means that every horrible thing that has ever happened to them was meant to happen, and that's bullshit. So naturally they put the finger up at fate.
I agree that things will take time and Fearne has every right to be angry with them for a long while, but I think things are gonna go well in the long run. I hope that when she's ready they'll talk about what happened, and understand each other better.

I ask this question from a curiosity standpoint, and don’t mean to seem rude or anything, but why don’t you like Daniel Ricciardo? Am I missing something?
He’s far less offensive than a lot of the other drivers. He has a tendency to awkwardly laugh rather than say “that’s a shitty joke. Not okay”, which is frustrating, but not even in the same universe as something like Lance Stroll physically assaulting his trainer.
Like all F1 drivers, he wants to be WDC and talks a big talk, but he’s still nowhere near as obnoxious as a lot of the other drivers, who all think and say the same.
Maybe my understanding isn’t correct? As far as I know, his only really shit time as a driver was with McLaren in 2022, and words like “scapegoating” and “sabotage” get thrown around a lot. In 2021, he gave McLaren its only win in over a decade, and it wasn’t team orders based, and he hauled Renault back up into the podium as well, for their first time in almost a decade. I don’t think he should have left Red Bull, and I don’t think he’s necessarily an Alonso or Verstappen level talent, but he also made those Red Bulls and Renaults that he drove look a lot better than they were.
It's not just about what a driver's like on the track; it's his attitudes off the track too and Ricciardo has really bad form. As for dragging the Renault into the points, and the Red Bull when it was underperforming - that's his job and the cars weren't that bad. If he'd swapped with one of the back markers at the time, they'd likely have performed just the same. Plus, if he made the Red Bull look better than it was, why wasn't he the one winning championships in it? Why did Vettel get all that action when all Ricciardo got was a handful of race wins?
Anyway, here's (just some of) why I firmly believe that Daniel Ricciardo is every bit as obnoxious as the most obnoxious drivers on the grid. If you don't read right to the end, and I wouldn't blame you, please at least take in the part I've highlighted in red; it pretty much sums up the type of character he is and why I - along with many others - really do feel that he's most definitely obnoxious.
“I don’t watch the news and feel better about my day so I choose not to watch it.” Just one direct quote regarding his complete and shameless ignorance about the extreme humans rights abuses prevelent in some of the countries F1 travels to. What it amounts to is that the “drama and negativity” (his own words) of news reports on out-dated and abusive attitudes to women and LGBTQ people is a buzz kill so he’d rather not know about it, thanks all the same.
His attitude to the sexist objectification of the (now thankfully defunct) Grid Girls: "It's kind of like part of the attraction of the sport, fast cars and fast girls,". In his opinion, because it’s a male dominated sport it’s “a cool thing” so “let’s keep them”. If that's not obnoxious, I don't know what is.
On “Your Mom’s House” (a lowest common denominator podcast aimed at pathetic little boys who think they’re men) he laughed along with deeply sexist, misogynistic ‘jokes’ about women. There are plenty of drivers who would, at the very least, have kept their reactions neutral, making it clear they didn’t think it funny, but not Ricciardo; he was more than content to chuckle away at their vile comments about women.
Tricking Yuki Tsunoda into trusting him to come closer on a boat so he could throw him overboard, because it’s funny to force someone to face a very real phobia of sharks by throwing them into a body of water that’s widely known to contain them. I don’t care what Tsunoda’s reaction was to it (it's common for the victim of bullying to make light of their ordeal) or that Ricciardo threw himself into the water too; it’s still an appalling way to treat someone when they’ve been brave enough to be in such close proximity to one of their greatest fears. It’s the behaviour of a bully and Ricciardo is the worst kind of that particular species – a charming bully. The reason he gets away with so much of his crappy behaviour is because so many people are taken in by a cheeky smile, a twinkle in the eyes, and the friendly disclaimer that it’s just a bit of fun; they’re just trying to lighten the mood and make people laugh. It’s always at someone else’s expense though.
Given he was in a highly competitive Red Bull for all those years, he won precious few races, and left because he wasn’t getting the attention he thought was his right. I know athletes have to have an enormous amount of self-belief but to have looked at a racer like Verstappen and sincerely felt that he was his equal? That’s delusional. But is that really how he felt? Or did he – like so many who can’t face real competition when they know someone else is going to come out on top – jump ship because being a big fish in a small pond is preferable to being outperformed and therefore second best? I don’t know which it is but if he really, genuinely, sincerely thought he was on the same level as, first, Verstappen and then Norris, surely he’s just not very bright?
Monza 2021 absolutely was a team orders win for Ricciardo. Have you listened to Norris’s radio? He was faster; he wanted to pass; he asked if he could pass; he was told to maintain position. Either the team were concerned that the two might take each other out (although I am absolutely certain that Norris could have made that move with ease so was it more a case of Ricciardo taking Norris out if he tried to overtake?) or Ricciardo’s ego was so fragile by that point (Norris had been wiping the floor with him) that they decided he needed the win to boost his confidence and get a few more much needed points for McLaren. Either way, Norris was robbed of his maiden victory because he’s a team player who obeyed team orders rather than saying “screw this; I can win and I’m damn well gonna win”. I respect him for playing the team game but I hate the fact that Ricciardo got an undeserved win at his considerable expense (that’s not hyperbole; a driver’s first F1 win really is huge).
You're probably sorry you asked now.

This might be seen as a controversial take, but I don’t think toning down Sokka’s sexism in the Netflix series is that big of a deal nor do I think it will ruin his character. Since his sexism was dealt with pretty early on in the series, we were able to focus more on great things about his character like his humor and intelligence. It is kind of annoying that people are just ready to declare the series ruined for something that didn’t last very long in the beginning of the series.

Verna my beloved raven
I've seen a lot of ideas about who or what Verna truly is. Most have compared her to Death or the Grimm Reaper because she caused most of (some would say all of) the deaths of the Ushers. I don't fully agree with this simply because Death doesn't make deals and Death doesn't stop for or hurry for anyone. Death comes for all things in their time without emotion There is no reason for death to have offered them anything. There is also no reason for death to offer the kindness of a peaceful end.
The other idea I see the most is that Verna is a sort of crossroads demon. This idea does make more sense to me considering the kind of people she had been seen with throughout time and the deal she made with Roderick and Madeleine. Three things about that don't fit to me. First the way she trys to ease things for the children (except Fredrick but fuck him), she gives them a chance to walk away and have peaceful deaths closer to what she gave Lenore. Which brings me to point two, Lenore. What reason would a crossroads demon have to share all the good that Lenore had done and the lives she would save before giving her a peaceful instant death? The third thing is when the deal was first made, Roderick ask if its his soul he would be trading. Verna says souls aren't real but "If they were you already sold your earlier tonight when you killed Rufus Griswold". If this was a demon what did they gain from this deal?
I believe Verna is neither demon nor Death but the Devil herself. Verna is the fallen angel Lucifer. What she offered the Ushers, what she seems to have offered those before is the ultimate test of free will. What would you do with unlimited wealth or power? She never forced them or manipulated them. Every evil thing they did was entirely their choice. She even points this out to Madeleine when they meet and talks about all the terrible things humanity does to one another without her having to interfere. Then there is her decision with Pym about his trip. She says she came "topside" to see what they did. She knows the people they sacrificed along the way, even what part he played in these deaths. She even laments the injustice that corruptions like Fourtonato never face any real consequences for their actions. When she showed Roderick his true legacy she makes it clear those deaths where his alone, she played no part. But most of all her attempt at mercy for the children. They're doomed to day anyway but she tries to ease their pain. Taking Lenore seems to break her heart. She tries to explain to Perry that he's done enough. She gives the others chances to be honest, make amends or just walk away and be a peace. Exect Fredrick (that piece of shit) he made his choice the minute he starts mistreating his wife. Verna never interacted with him until his death because the decision was already made. The worse their behavior, the less of a chance she gave them for peace. She also never interacts with Auggie. He sees her but she doesn't offer him anything or even speak to him. She knows he would never make a deal like that.
There is a karmic balance to everything Verna does. One that fit the role of a reaper or demon. But the angel who was banished for questioning GOD? The angel who questioned free will itself. The angle made devil that everyone blames for the every bad decision they make. That seems like someone who would be interested in how things would play out and still be disappointed they didn't make better choices.
