I feel like Simon is a bit apprehensive of working with the xmen. The superpower thing adds too many variables that could put himself and the entire task force at risk. But he would warm up to his eclectic new companions in time.

I feel it'd be cute if Gaz was a bit of a fan boy in a way. Like he admires the xmen and is kind of a geek about just how mutant biology works? Idk he is a nerd to me.

Price and Logan would be two peas in a pod. Smoking cigars and exchanging war stories. Plus they both have iconic facial hair.

Talk shit babe, let it all out! What I can tell you is the bullshit that's been building up, you're not the only one feeling like this. It's frustrating cause people just don't get it, they get blinded by the money/subscribers. This community confuses the fuck out of me because of the amount of greed I've seen out of some of these creators. The Skyrim community is doing amazing, incredible things with that game, ts4 mods couldn't even come close, but do they ask for money? Force people to pay for the things they created? Hell no. That shit was shut down, Bethesda themselves couldn't pull that shit. Idk if people were scared to call creators out on their bullshit but now is the time to change.

Well, pre-internet childhood/young adolescent ship would be Logan and Nightcrawler from the OG X-Men movies, I’m not sure what that ship name is. But actual like proper internet using, teenage ship would’ve been Spirk and MattxMello. I actually met my internet bestie through MxM 9 years ago on this god forsaken app and we’re still going strong. (also Kingdom Hearts slash ships, literally just all of them in a big pile).

last song:

Skeleton by Fewjar, my current Jason song. The ending is not my fave but the lyrics still fuck in that part.

last movie:

Oh god, I don’t know. Probably some random horror film. I did watch Glass Onion recently.

currently reading:

I just finished House of Leaves. I haven’t had a lot of time for fiction reading. It was deeply enjoyable. I went into it completely blind and the horror/interactive decoding was really thrilling. I will say that it did fuck with my mental health a little bit so reader beware.

But for non-fiction I’m reading through... Lists 10 different books on therapy (not CBT gags, mostly somatic), multiculturalism, trauma, social justice, community work, and intersectional identities. If anyone wants good recs for trauma stewardship/work/healing, practical leftist theory (not just wank that doesn’t actually help anyone), advocacy, and the diversity of human experience through the lens of social issues lmk and I’ll send my recs. (I also have most of these in pdf form so I can send them to anyone interested, if you want).

My number one rec that I am currently reading (again) is: We Do This ‘Til We Free Us. It is an abolition and transformative justice book but it also touches on the myth of perfect victims and community organizing.

OH! I’m also reading through Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune by Chris Brennan. I’m super intro traditional astrology (not so much modern)

currently watching:

Critical Role campaign 3 and Puppet History (just watched the season finale).

currently consuming:

I’m actually unsure if this means food or media lol. I mean, I am a known Animal Crossing consumer (Pocket Camp and New Horizons). I don’t know how to like things without consuming them. I’m currently bingeing through Hollow Knight and just got done with a 20-25ish hour Celeste playthrough in the span of like 5 days. I know this makes it seem like I really enjoy platformers, but I don’t actually lol.

currently craving:

I relate strongly to force’s response to this. Umm, I’m craving a normal sleep schedule before the Spring grad semester suplexes me into ridiculous deadlines.

I haven't been watching much lately, I've been spending basically all my downtime writing lol BUT here's some stuff that I've generally enjoyed over the past few (maybe 10?) years!

Shows:

The Sopranos - Watched this right at the start of the pandemic and almost immediately saw why it was considered one of the best TV shows ever made. The idea of a mob boss going to a therapist? 10/10, fabulous. (HBO/Max)

The Newsroom - I'm a former journalist and lover of Aaron Sorkin so this show was addictive for me. Give me a good walk and talk dialogue sequence any day. Season one is far and away the best but the other two ain't bad. (HBO/Max)

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend - This show was CRIMINALLY underrated. Several new musical numbers every episode, the writing is so damn brilliant it should be taught in school if it's not already. It also tackles mental health beautifully and is hilarious without being overly silly. (Netflix)

Fleabag - Brilliant, insightful, funny and heartbreaking all at once. Phoebe Waller Bridge is a genius. The worst thing about it is that it's so damn short. (Amazon)

Andor - Probably the best Star Wars series so far (SORRY MANDO I LOVE YOU SO MUCH) the storytelling and character work here is so damn good. If you haven't seen it yet, make it a priority. (Disney+)

Movies:

Baby Driver - A love letter to what you can do with sound in film, it's got so much to enjoy. Great performances, editing that's pure genius, excellent storytelling with fun action and a great script. Watch it if you haven't!

500 Days of Summer - in my opinion, this is the best "romantic comedy" (not sure it can REALLY be called that) since When Harry Met Sally. A really critical look at what it means to put the idea of someone over the actual person, it's funny and insightful while making its point.

Promising Young Woman - It's dark and funny and truthful and cathartic all at once. It's a movie length middle finger to the patriarchy and I'm all about it.

Knives Out - Everyone's probably already seen this but the fact that Daniel Craig plays a southern gay detective and is having the time of his life now that he's free of James Bond, it brings me so much joy. The mystery is great, the performances are top tier, it's damn near flawless. Will watch at any time. (Adjacent recommendation: Logan Lucky, a heist movie with a bunch of rednecks robbing a NASCAR race including Daniel Craig debuting his kooky southern drawl. Super fun!)

Nightcrawler - This was one that was super underrated (even though it was up for Best Original Screenplay at the oscars), a noir psychological thriller about a stringer who shoots video freelance for local TV stations. The appetite for bloody content pushes him further than you would expect. It's dark but so well done!

These might be a bit all over the map but hopefully there's some stuff here you've never seen and it's helpful!

Omg-- mamsir mei, or kai if you prefer that-- since diluc is already well established as a vigilante... what if... bully the fatui vigilante/superhero au.

We already got batman-- i mEAN the darknight hero as diluc, i can see yelan as spiderman/spiderwoman. She can rock both, i headcanon her as nb or genderfluid so i can see her going out as spiderman somedays and spiderwoman on other days to keep em on their toes loooooool

Ayato for me is kinda hard, mostly because i dont know him enough as a character yet, and consequently i do not know who hed be in either the dc uni or the marvel uni. Although it would be really funny if he was the equivalent of Captain America but instead of America its Inazuma. Like a Cap Am and Ronin mix. He doesnt use his vision AT ALL or at the very least doesnt use it enough to garner suspicion on who he might be because like cmon, they only have like 2 vision holders there that are hydro he gotta stay on the down low. I also like to think that he thinks of it as a form of training as well. Like-- he started it in the early days of the vision hunt decree to make sure he can still protect his people even if his vision was taken away and now hes just known as this mysterious vigilante hero.

And to branch of off that, i think that the reason the three of them would do vigilante work alongside their more secretive would be the same. They took up the masks for their people, to give them hope and let them believe in a better world, because that hope with a bit of guidance and hardwork can lead them into that better world. Ayato would outwardly say to his subordinates who know of his vigilante duties that its merely a form of training and a way to check in on the people of Inazuma personally, when asked Yelan would say that shes bored and wants the thrill of the chase from both those she apprehends and the millileth, and Diluc would say that he does it because the knights are so inefficient that they need him to pick up the slack (which they do). But really, the three of them know that those replies are half truths and deceptions. Because they do want to help the people and let them believe in the power of good and kindness in a harsh and uncaring world.

Now I'm gonna pause you a moment. Diluc isn't Mondstadt's Batman. He's Mondstadt's, Red Hood. I'll keep saying it. Diluc and Jason Todd, the same person. Different fonts.

I really like Yelan as a Spiderman. I kind of imagine, though, no matter how you see her. I do like her as NB, but I might be biased there. But I see her as a superhero wanting to conceal her gender.

Now Ayato. My first thought was an Iron man kind of character. Then I kind of played with him more, being like Nightcrawler. And I liked that, with the speed, agility focus and teleporting too. And Nightcrawler has been known to use swords. I think the more playful attitude works as well. So that's my 2 cents on it.

They Definitely would be the big three of their world just with how well they would protect their respective lands and generally how well they work together. And that's the real advantage of the three: they will be good friends about everything else.

as for favorite cc omg, lets see: for hair definitely anto if you go for alpha hairstyles (so many colors + a lot of different styles) but if you want variety for short hair, i recommend moood - they make such good short hair that fit both masculine and feminine sims! then my other go to for hair: sclub, wings, nightcrawler, simpliacity

if you are looking for poc hairstyles, def check out sheabuttyr (maxis match), xxblacksims, ebonix, brandysims, badddiesims

for eyebrows/make up/eye colors, i use a lot of goppolsme cc

for skin details, i use a lot of obscurus, nothernsiberiawinds, sims3melancholic, i also use the 3d eyelashes from mmsims, they look so good omg

for outfits, my go to are gorillagorillagorilla, clumsyalien, adrienpastel, lazyeyelids, madlen, rimings, newen, casteru specifically for toddler outfits - for kids i tend to go for simiracle bc she makes conversions of adult meshes for kid sims frames!

Today, feeling about a 7.

Have barely spoken to anyone. Spoke VERY briefly with a couple neighbors in passing, one about the availability of a laundry machine and the other about HOA ballots, but I could feel my voice being froggy from disuse and it made me feel slightly self conscious about my solitude.

the week’s been ok. i spent a lot of time during work trying to finish up my ELP course, which i finally finished, and did the evaluation on friday, though it was my RDO. tuesday chantal and i rode bikes/rollerbladed at lunch by the beach and it was kinda nice and though it was only 20-30 minutes, i was pretty tired. got rubio’s tacos tuesday after work and headed home. wednesday and thursday were pretty uneventful. after work on thursday, mindy, linda and i got a couple drinks at a local place but it was pretty mediocre and we were all feeling very blah so we left shortly after.

the next day linda, her son and i went fishing. i asked her to meet me at 5 a.m. and the night before she asked if her son could come. i was vaguely annoyed because that meant more gear to use, more tackle to tie on/lose, and less time fishing, but i agreed, and they arrived 15 minutes late and we headed out. it was a pretty cold day, never got past 60′ and the sun didn’t come out til we left, but it was a decent fishing day. i caught three perch and a guitar fish, and linda and kirin caught 5-6 BSP each. i tried to make it a game of whoever caught the least fish had to buy lunch, and i didn’t think i’d lose, but i did, though to be fair, i had the crappiest rod/reel set up (an 8′6″ rod and some cheap R2F reel) and spent half the time taking fish off their hooks and putting on sandcrabs (they were too squeamish to do either.)

we drove back and i treated in n out and then i was subject to kirin’s too-smart-for-us cynicism and contrarianism and i stopped responding to him because his entire premise seemed to be to be shocking and upsetting and i didn’t want to feed into it. other than that, i was glad that they had a good time, and i kinda just loafed around the rest of the day.

today i jogged in the morning, only my second time this week, but then cleaned quite a bit. i did dishes, two loads of laundry, put on fresh crisp sun-dried sheets on my bed, took a shower, ran the vacuum, and removed a lot of random stuff from my car, and for a little treat, took myself to an anxiety-inducing trip to Walmart to pick up some nightcrawlers and other things to go fishing with charmaine’s kids tomorrow at echo park.

charmaine has graciously offered to buy lunch as a sort of compensation, which makes so much sense, and makes me feel a little off about treating both linda and her son to lunch. i’m not sure why she didn’t buy us both lunch. i drove 160 miles, loaned all my equipment, baited up and set up all their gear, so ... i could buy lunch? strange. she later said that kirin wanted to bring a friend. i was rather enraged at how she phrased it, not, “omg would you be a doll, would you mind, i’ll buy you a marvelous dinner, if you can take not just me, and not just my unpleasant son, but also my son’s friend for you to chauffeur, chaperone, and guide for free, at your expense, on your only day off?”, as opposed to, “my son would like to bring a friend” and leave me to connect the dots and have to offer? too exhausted to respond, i just didn’t, and if she wants to bring it up again, i’ll ask for some type of compensation, because the more time i spend assisting people fishing, the less time i get to spend fishing, and at some point, that becomes pretty stupid for me.

jadai and i had a good, resolving talk last thursday, and she ended up picking up about 90% of her things and stocking my fridge/freezer with poke, sashimi, and ice cream mochi. i’m thinking we maaaaay be able to be friends and i don’t have to be too dramatically “no contact.” it’d be nice to hang and to join her and cooper at the dog park. no reason for us to be enemies.

not much else is going on. no matches on tinder, no prospects on the horizon, though i’m back in touch with lo, though barely, but not in a way that tortures me, fortunately. i have some wherewithal so today i was able to not just clean up my mess, but to sort, organize, and pull more of jadai’s stuff out, and throw out some things/post up some items on the facebook group. it feels like progress.

updates: grace’s father in law passed away last week and they’ve been scheduling funeral services. roe v wade was overturned. i went almost an entire week without drinking. my aunt’s transplant opening was finally closed and she seems to be recovering. my mom is scheduled to fly back this monday.

tomorrow’s plan: i want to clean some more, am meeting charmaine’s kids at 8am tomorrow for fishing, then lunch at a taco truck, and then i might do some korean grocery shopping for the upcoming week (mandoo, fried fish, dubu, etc.) feeling decent.

earth-2182 AU

(the home dimension of x-men character nocturne (talia wagner) daughter of kurt wagner and wanda maximoff) but with particular emphasis on the nightcrawler x scarlet witch ship.

what’s actual canon in the marvel earth-2182 that i’m hanging onto:

kurt wagner & wanda maximoff are married and so besotted in love that their (adult!) daughter says ‘they’re like teenagers’. nightcrawler is an x-man, but the scarlet witch is a member of the avengers.

ok so AU time really just an expansion on that b/c there’s little to nothing else we know abt TJs parents in her universe... wanda meets kurt on a joint-team mission just after joining the avengers… she's 23 and he's 25 (so he's been an x-man for 5 years while she’s still v new to hero-ing) their teams get split up mid-crisis and they end up stranded together and it’s like omg crisis! actually we’re a really good team. actually you’re kinda hot??? etc, etc. i remember i read some random comic panels of them meeting and wanda impressing kurt b/c she speaks a bit of german and they’re really on the same wavelength and idk these little panels too give the hint that they’d just hit it off straight away y’know

afterwards kurt finds any reason to send her gifts or call her or show up at avengers tower - very flamboyant and dramatic. but anyway wanda is in a better place than in avengers movie etc. (and pietro is alive. the maximoff siblings are romani jewish and both alive.) anyway so wanda is doing okay and learning to be a hero, and then when that gets stressful there’s a guy who’s doing the absolute most just to see her smile. its all very charming and they get together. also it’s the 1980s.

they date for about three years before they get engaged and then married very soon after. why wait! they’re in love (ages 27 and 29). scott summers officiates and cries about it, kitty pryde is kurt’s maid of honour, pietro maximoff is wanda’s best man. it’s the party of the year and the biggest x-men/avengers mixer ever lol.

kurt is your classic I LOVE MY WIFE guy, as we know he always chugs his respecting women juice. he’ll admit he’s a little terrified sometimes of the sheer power wanda has, but they’re so dedicated to each other its like katara getting aang out of the avatar state.

they continue to be on separate teams with separate bases as in earth-2182 canon but they do have their own place to spend time at together, luckily for wanda having a husband that can travel anywhere in the blink of an eye is extremely convenient.

kurt loses his eye 3 years later (ages 30 and 32) in a scuffle that i’m writing a fic abt the aftermath b/c i love angst and hurt/comfort lol and it shakes them up enough that they both decide to take time off from hero business.

during this time TJ is conceived!!! she is born (wanda 31, kurt 33) and wanda moves to xavier's so that they can get help with raising her and allowing her to grow up around other mutants, it’s the 1990s, kurt isn’t an active x-man but he is the school’s drama teacher. wanda really gets stuck into motherhood and realises it’s everything she’s ever wanted, literally Best Mother, sings the most beautiful lullabies, gets really into sewing and sews tons of matching outfits for herself and TJ.

later wanda rejoins the avengers and after about a decade kurt takes over leadership of the x-men and things continue from there. TJ trains to be an x-man and also sings in a riot grrl band. she’s a big time music lover b/c she inherited her father’s flair for the dramatic. she’s got main character curse a lil bit tho lol so during a x-mission she gets universally displaced (as in comics canon somwewhere idk i’m not fixated enough on it)

so TJ disappears in about 2015 at age 20, making wanda 51 and kurt 53.

and then there’s my whole mental disney movie about TJ trying to return home lol, probably it DOES put a bit of a strain on kurt & wanda’s unshakeable marriage because it’s understandably traumatic for your child to go missing no matter what age they are, and ofc TJ is having her interdimensional situation but i’m not imagining it playing out like in the comics too much because in my mind it’s all culminating in [this] because we love a happy ending. she deserves to make it home.

(TBH the most AU thing about this whole thing is just that kurt wagner NEEDS to be sexy and canon old man nightcrawler in in canon earth-2182 is like... not sexy, sorry. but the eyepatch is a vibe!!! so much of a vibe i’ve noticed it in the latest x-men gold(?) run, we love pirate vibes kurt)

im gonna cry i love nightcrawler he is my fav. i feel like the world has done a disservice to us that we have never got a crossover of nightcrawler spiderman and nightwing talking about acrobatics together and having fun. i wish but no dice. thoughtS?

Kurt is such a well written character (normally), how can someone be so pure and such a baby and yet so badass?! Ugh, I love him. Kurt deserves so many good things in life. He definitely more baby in the FOX movies but he is also a young scared teen so I enjoy that depiction. I hope Marvel grows him up into the sword wielding badass he is.

!!!! While unfortunately Nightwing is excluded- Peter and Kurt are friends in the comics!! Depending which timeline. But he even shows up in the Spideypool comics trying to keep Peter from strangling Wade and well him too- (Spider-Man/Deadpool #14 if interested) lmao. But There is a couple times Kurt and Peter have fun and I love seeing it 😭

Omg all the flexy bois doing acrobatics together, they be best friends and you know it. Dick and Peter sitting around trying to figure out wtf Kurt is talking about at times with that heavy German accent and all the little bamfs terrorizing Peter and Dick! pure content for the badass wholesome bois.

Gah I want more Kurt and Peter content, we seen Peter and Hank nerd out- where is the acrobatic shenanigans ?!
