also riki being a 40 year old dad is so fucking funny christ. how did they fumble the ball on nopon party members so hard in xenoblade 2. we went from “this small weird screaming cheese ball is a 40 year old with a wife and kids and he’s only helping us kill god so he can pay off his debt” to “lmao the sphere is a sex pervert who built a maid robot ahaha!!!” someone needs to answer for this.

I'm working on a certain project and I realized that the other two fucked up monkeys aside from wukong and the six eared macaque are hardly ever used in anything eve so I designed them myself for this thing!!! the nerdy shrimp is gibbon and the big lady is baboon

Imagine one day you wake up and you immediately know how little care your creators spent on you. You know you were meant for something else, something larger, but nothing else. You stay in the sky for so long. So, so long. You see people walking sometimes. They chat to each other. They laugh. They smile. They are happy. There's something festering in the deepest parts of you. It's jealousy. It shouldn't be there. You weren't created to feel that. But you can't help it when you see people like that. The people never stay long. Who stays outside in the middle of the night long enough for the moon to come down and talk? Years pass by. You have never spoke to anyone. You have never smiled with anyone. You have never hugged anyone. Then a cat comes along. You build up enough courage to say hello to it. That was the first time you spoke to someone. Then you meet a few other people. You make friends, actual friends, and they aren't just a word you think of in bitterness and sorrow when you see people together. They're actual people who enjoy your presence. You even meet your love. Then you get involved in something. A situation. It wasn't meant for you, it was not your intention to get involved with something this serious, but you do. It's fine, as long as you can help in any way you can. Then you hear a voice. It doesn't come from one of the stars, which is unusual. It tells you that you will be fed to a monster. It tells you that your friends are not your friends. It threatens and manipulates and forces you to harm all of those close to you. You are scared, terrified, you don't want to hurt anyone, this wasn't what you were made for, you just want to- Soon enough, you have hurt everyone you care for. Or at least you think so. Your memories of everyone are gone. Your control has been taken away. All you can hear is this voice telling to hurt people. You are forced to comply. Your head gets bashed in by your victim. Before everything goes dark, you can only think that maybe you can finally reach peace now. You wake up. There's two people in front of you. You now recognize one of them to be the one who killed you. A friend. You scramble back, putting some distance between you and them. You can't let yourself hurt more people. You can't. And so you flee. You are back in the sky. The only differences are these horrid cracks filled with gold. They remind you of everything you've done. You hate it. You hide in the sky. You don't want to talk to anyone. It hurts. But it's fine. You're fine.

I want there to be a montage of her overthinking and shenanigans and wacky imagination about this.

It would be my dream if Deku got a Gon (HxH) type ending because while he's not as extreme as Gon in hurting his friends he crosses lines from time to time that accumulative make me wonder, as a person, is Deku actually worth this amount of emotional distress even if what he symbolically represents to other characters helps improve them heroically (except Ochaco). B and D are still not in a healthy place so ending acknowledging that would be kinda cool imo. (not gonna happen though).

Anon I am obsessed with the implications you are describing with a "Gon-type" ending because I have a lot of feelings (positive) about Gon's HxH journey end (per the anime - manga's still going!) and think a lot of the implied discussion of mortality vs godhood/nirvana/spiritual ascension or just "human" and "divine" as it applies to Gon and his father AND even a little bit to Gon and Killua as it applies to understanding the self and growing together, then apart, and realizing how much free will they have over themselves and their desires.

I really want to know if you mean more than "Izuku, now humbled and without his power, goes one way and Katsuki goes another even though it brings them great sadness just like Gon and Killua did" or not.

I'd also like to point out that much of Killua's sadness regarding Gon comes from him not being old enough/mature enough/brave enough/aware enough (your mileage may vary on how to phrase that or how many to include) to ask Gon the question he most wanted to ask. I wanna know how much you were thinking about this detail when you sent me this ask.

Anyway, I think the manga knows Katsuki and Izuku aren't in a completely healthy place regarding Izuku's emotional and self-sacrificing tendencies yet. While it could be discussed more in the main manga and in more detail, I don't feel like it needs to be discussed much more than we can expect from the resolution of their story based on their trajectory. We know. We witness. If Izuku is going to save or help or still stand by Katsuki, he's going to figure himself out and address this problem. He's got to. If not, well, much like Gon and Killua, they may part for a while, but somehow I think they'd meet again. Izuku is someone Katsuki couldn't shake off even if he tried, and he's tried.

I mean, the story of BNHA is also taking place over the course of... it's been one year total since the start of school, and right about two total since Izuku and Katsuki's middle school introduction with a training montage where Izuku only really interacted with his mom and Toshinori. A lot has happened and their dynamics have greatly shifted over a relatively short period of time.

As for Ochako, I think she's figuring out for herself what really matters (though, I mean, in some ways, Deku's influence as inspiration has helped some. Like the wires? Like being unified in the idea of saving Toga and Shigaraki? Those aren't such bad things.) I've got faith in her.
