Telling content creators it's wrong to explore artistic freedom and be independently funded by fans, and they should instead continue taking advertisement revenue from google* is
NOT
the anti-capitalism stance actually.
*(Yes, google owns youtube.)
#Watcher#This post is specifically and exclusively about the people who seem to have the capitalism bit wrong#It's almost fascinating how no one is hearing themselves speak#I feel like some of you don't understand WHY we support small businesses and are anti-monopoly#I've seen multiple posts saying “Shane is so anti-capitalism there's no way this was his idea.”#So... you think it's pro-capitalism to start your own business instead of relying on pennies from the exploitative mega-corporation?#Guys... we support small businesses KNOWING it will cost the consumer more#Stop thinking you're entitled to someone's product#That's what got us in this mess#I understand $6 is a lot for many many people but that is what makes certain things a luxury#Nothing used to be this way#Nothing used to be “free” so you can be monitored for your viewing habits and sold to advertisers#If you see a little guy trying to leave youtube/google and you paint them as the capitalist??? You. have. taken. a. wrong. turn.#I don't know how many more ways I can say it#It is better to support someone (if you can) than to pressure them into taking money from the trillion-dollar corporation#so that you can have what they put all their blood/sweat/tears into for free#If you want something badly enough you're going to have to pay for it#Them's the breaks#If you don't want it that badly then maybe it didn't mean enough to you personally#Thinking otherwise is how corporations like youtube take over and squeeze out small competitors#btw on monopolies: having almost every single video content creator (outside of tiktoks and video game streams) on youtube is BAD#You understand that's bad yes?#How tf are we going to diversify unless SOME CREATORS leave youtube???#It's almost the responsibility of larger creators to do so#Ironically what I said is backwards#In its ideal state‚ capitalism is supposed to inspire innovation and new business‚ giving every person a chance to succeed#But I think we all know that's not the reality we're experiencing#I just went with what everyone means when they say it

It’s honestly quite tragic that the HOTD fandom sees any sort of conflicting take/viewpoint when it comes to discussions pertaining to character arcs and historical inspiration GRRM may have taken as a direct, personal attack against them when they do not agree. Just seems rather childish and reductive to me but also unsurprising as it’s entirely consistent with that fandom’s level of maturity after all.

Fair enough. Granted it feels weird that there are still a ton of non-kraken fans getting all worked up about shane's development (or lack thereof) when we kraken fans are generally taking a more relaxed wait and see approach. Like don't they have their own prospects to worry about?? Anyway I think shane has done remarkably under said circumstances. The resiliency he has shown this past season has been astounding and I truly wish more people could see that, instead of, idk, continuing to bash and belittle him
I mean, Hot Takes NHL Hockey Guys (gn), a group of people who are notoriously patient with prospect development 🫠 like if you don't win the Calder in your first year, you're a draft bust right? It's insane to me how people treat 1st round prospects. Like every other round gets a little bit of grace wrt development, but the narrative around 1st round prospects in some circles, particularly with NHL-only fans is like, if you don't immediately perform you're a wasted pick. (For ex, the number of people unironically calling Jack Hughes a draft bust for 3 solid years through a pandemic.) the Shane Wright thing is especially fucked to me bc it's like non-Kraken fans holding him to some weird weird standards that are like both wildly contradictory and wildly inappropriate given the pre-draft pipeline he came out of and it's like...for what purpose are you shitting on a 19 year old. What do you possibly hope to gain from this. He's doing fine now that he's not perpetually scratched. He's working incredibly hard, he's matured a lot, he's developing normally. The whole Kraken-Firebird org is developing normally. Leave them be.

Just remembered that during my TMA days I had the golden idea of putting s1 Jonathan Sims next to a middle school child and watching things explode, and well.
There was a child in the archives. And she was being deeply annoying about it.
“Wow. You do a lot of boring adult stuff here. I didn’t think it was possible for you to get even more boring and adult-ish.” The menace sat on the spare chair, kicking her legs against the old wood and scanning the room with a bored expression on her face.
Ignoring the inconspicuous snickers from Tim and the amusement radiating from Sasha, Jon took a deep swig from his mug, wishing it was something a bit stronger than tea.
“Ana,” He rubbed his temples. “What on earth are you doing here?”
“Visiting you.” She chirped.
“Why?”
“Got bored. And you’re always talking about your dumb Archive job.” She poked at the stacks of papers on the box beside her chair. “What’s all this?”
“How did you get here?”
“Tube. I have legs, Jonathan.”
Tim delightedly mouthed, ‘Jonathan’ in Sasha’s direction. Her smile was slowly growing bigger.
“Don’t you have- school? What would your mum say, does she know you’re here?” She paid no mind to his questions, just kept shuffling through the papers in her hands. Jon sighed. “Can you put those down, please.”
Sending him an acerbic look, she dropped the papers, letting them flutter about to the floor. Jon felt his overall willpower for the day wane significantly.
“School’s boring. What, are you gonna tell? Gonna be a narc about it?” Her tone, like everything else about her, was angled toward mocking him, specifically.
“Ana.” He said, pulling upon as much patience as he physically could. “You cannot just leave school to come and -bother me.”

What is a Chief Innovation Officer? - CyberTalk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Twenty-five years ago, the Chief Innovation Officer role was virtually unheard of. Now, it’s one of the hottest C-suite roles out there.
These days, roughly 30% of Fortune 500 companies have a Chief Innovation Officer. This includes multi-national conglomerates like Berkshire Hathaway and UnitedHealth Group.
In this article, join us for an in-depth exploration of the Chief Innovation Officer role; from job responsibilities to means of attaining this coveted position.
What is a Chief Innovation Officer?
A Chief Innovation Officer (CIO or CINO) drives change management and innovation for an organization. This role manifested after organizations observed that a fragmented, teams-driven approach to innovation often fails, as it results in competition between teams and minimal long-term achievements.
A Chief Innovation Officer orchestrates change by unifying the push towards greater innovation under a single vision and approach. In some cases, a Chief Innovation Officer may be supported by an innovation team; a dedicated department that assists with identifying opportunities, validating opportunities and making informed investment decisions.
Chief Innovation Officer responsibilities overview
The objectives of a Chief Innovation Officer include persuading executives to entertain innovative, value-add business ideas, and ensuring that the business thrives as change takes effect. In brief, a Chief Innovation Officer needs to:
Expedite the rate at which new opportunities are identified
Qualitatively and quantitatively assess the opportunities, zeroing-in on those with the highest potential yields
Foster leadership alignment around strategy and mission
Solicit buy-in around new projects and investments
Assist with bringing new products and services to market that increase business value
Chief Innovation Officer job description in-depth
The precise responsibilities of a Chief Innovation Officer will depend on the context of the role — the industry vertical that it’s situated within, organizational complexity, and an organization’s innovation maturity levels. In more illustrative terms, a Chief Innovation Officer must be able to:
1. Facilitate and inspire innovation. In other words, the Chief Innovation Officer is responsible for fostering a business environment that promotes the creation and circulation of ideas, that encourages collaboration, and that embraces a ‘fail fast, fail forward’ mindset; thereby advocating for ongoing improvement.
In the interest of facilitating and inspiring innovation, the Chief Innovation Officer plays a crucial role in recruiting the right innovation talent, cultivating an innovation-friendly culture, streamlining and enhancing processes and allocating resources to boost innovation speed and maturity.
With a strategic approach, a Chief Innovation Officer can optimize the impact of innovation within the organization.
2. Set up a streamlined, end-to-end process for opportunity identification and validation. This involves developing a strategic focus for innovation, facilitating ideation, optimizing experimentation, and developing results confirmation capabilities, as through efficient tools and processes.
3. Create a culture of innovation. Within the organization, the Chief Innovation Officer must implement new approaches to generate enthusiasm around innovation and to energize employees. In parallel, the individual in this role should aim to encourage a growth mindset, tolerance, openness, psychological safety and a readiness to pursue calculated risks.
To further cultivate a culture of innovation, the Chief Innovation Officer should lead by example; actively participating as an innovator.
4. Implement enterprise-aligned methods and technologies. The right kinds of innovation tools and resources are critical when it comes to advancing the credibility of the team, and enabling employees to innovate effectively and efficiently.
Tools in the ‘Innovation Technology Stack’ may encompass an innovation management platform or an idea management platform, along with collaboration systems, prototyping tools, templates, gamification tools and others.
5. Prioritize projects effectively, shape projects effectively, and make judicious investments in new ideas. In so doing, the CIO/CINO must design a sensible intake procedure and deploy an intelligent project assessment model. These ensure optimal prioritization and a well-balanced innovation portfolio.
6. Evaluate innovation performance. The CIO/CINO needs to create and employ an Innovation Performance Measurement System. This system will serve as a guide amidst the process of continual improvement, providing a metric-based dashboard that helps everyone communicate the ‘State of Innovation’ to the company’s top management.
7. Conduct competitive research in relation to what’s happening within the broader industry ecosystem. The Chief Innovation Officer must then summarize the latest and greatest innovations and conceive of better and stronger approaches.
Common paths to becoming a Chief Innovation Officer
There isn’t a single, universal path that leads to a Chief Innovation Officer role. That said, many Chief Innovation Officers reach the role after having worked in solutions-focused positions. Chief Innovation Officers also typically have several years of past experience in another executive-level position.
Beyond gaining the necessary work experience to pursue the Chief Innovation Officer role, aspiring CIOs/CINOs should consider advancing their academic qualifications. A Doctor of Business Administration, for example, is a terminal degree indicating that someone has reached the pinnacle of academic achievement within their field.
Individuals who hold DBA degrees are often recognized as esteemed experts who have added new knowledge or theories to the current body of knowledge.

"The Clouds: A Timeless Satirical Masterpiece"
Tumblr media
Aristophanes, through his timeless play "The Clouds," brings forth a riveting blend of humor, wit, and social commentary that transcends the boundaries of time and culture. William James Hickie's translation beautifully captures the essence of Aristophanes' original Greek comedy, allowing readers to revel in the satire and thought-provoking insights that remain relevant to this day.
"The Clouds" is a bold and imaginative critique of the intellectual and moral climate of ancient Athens, presented through the lens of the eccentric Socrates and the establishment of the "Thinkery." As readers embark on this comedic journey, they are treated to a sharp exploration of the conflict between tradition and innovation, philosophy and practicality.
The play unfolds with Strepsiades, a debt-ridden farmer seeking refuge from his financial woes, enrolling in the Thinkery to acquire the skill of persuasive argumentation. Here, Socrates, brilliantly portrayed as an airy intellectual consumed by abstract ideas, takes center stage. The ensuing dialogue between Strepsiades and Socrates is a testament to Aristophanes' genius in blending humor with intellectual depth.
Hickie's translation preserves the linguistic nuances and comedic elements, allowing readers to appreciate the clever wordplay, puns, and innuendos that make Aristophanes' work a literary treasure. The humor is sharp, and the satire biting, as Aristophanes fearlessly mocks the intellectual elite and challenges the societal norms of his time.
Beyond its comedic brilliance, "The Clouds" serves as a mirror reflecting the perennial tension between the pursuit of knowledge and the practicalities of daily life. Aristophanes raises thought-provoking questions about the responsibilities of intellectuals, the consequences of unchecked innovation, and the delicate balance between tradition and progress.
In the hands of Hickie, Aristophanes' wit shines through, making this translation an accessible and enjoyable experience for contemporary readers. The characters come to life with vividness, and the dialogues resonate with relevance, inviting readers to reflect on the timeless themes presented.
"The Clouds" is more than a mere comedy; it is a literary gem that challenges societal norms, questions authority, and invites introspection. Aristophanes' bold satire, combined with Hickie's adept translation, ensures that this play remains a captivating and enduring piece of literature that transcends the ages.
"The Clouds," of Aristophanes skillfully translated byWilliam James Hickie is available in Amazon in paperback 10.99$ and hardcover 18.99$ editions.

Lado Okhotnikov: Robots Will Kill Us If We Don't Do It
Virtual reality cannot do without artificial intelligence and this is a fact. Interaction with AI provides such a realistic immersion that overshadows our minds. Therefore, with the technology development we need to come to the point where machines can sympathize and empathize with some aspects of our lives.
Tumblr media
It is believed that if artificial intelligence is endowed with emotions it will begin to make mistakes. However, if we endow robots with human values they will become our friend and will not enslave us. At least it's better than being killed or enslaved.
“Imagine a world where machines can not only perform tasks but also understand our emotions, empathize, support in joy and sorrow. This is the future we should strive for: the interaction, when artificial intelligence becomes more than just an intelligent assistant, should be our goal,” Kevin Fisher from Open Souls.
I can't reveal all the secrets but the Meta Force team is at the stage where caring for the elderly will be one of the company's focuses. As we develop our efforts will be redirected to helping people and creating amazing innovations. Therefore, when integrating AI we must be careful and responsible. In this way we can ensure that robots will serve the benefit of humanity and will comply with our values and ethical principles.

The Impact of E-Commerce on Packaging Design and Materials
Tumblr media
Introduction (H1): The Transformative Effect of E-Commerce on Packaging Design and Materials
The rise of e-commerce has revolutionized the way we shop, transforming the retail landscape and disrupting traditional brick-and-mortar stores. As more consumers turn to online shopping, the packaging industry has had to adapt to meet the demands of this rapidly growing market. In this article, we will explore the profound impact of e-commerce on packaging design and materials, and how companies like Shitla Paper are providing innovative solutions to cater to these evolving needs.
The Growth of E-Commerce : Changing Consumer Behavior and Packaging Requirements
With the convenience and accessibility of online shopping, e-commerce has experienced exponential growth over the past decade. Consumers now expect their purchases to be delivered safely and efficiently to their doorstep, which has significant implications for packaging design and materials.
In the e-commerce landscape, packaging serves multiple purposes beyond protection and containment. It must also create a positive unboxing experience, reflect the brand's identity, and be environmentally sustainable. This shift in consumer expectations has given rise to the need for innovative packaging solutions that strike a balance between functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
The Role of Packaging Design in E-Commerce : Creating a Memorable Unboxing Experience
In the digital age, packaging design plays a crucial role in brand differentiation and customer engagement. E-commerce companies understand that the unboxing experience is an opportunity to create a lasting impression on the consumer. Well-designed packaging can evoke excitement, anticipation, and even emotional connections with the brand.
In response to this trend, packaging design has become more creative and visually appealing. Unique box structures, personalized inserts, and branded materials enhance the unboxing experience and encourage customers to share their positive experiences on social media, generating valuable word-of-mouth marketing.
The Importance of Packaging Materials in E-Commerce : Balancing Protection and Sustainability
E-commerce packaging must ensure the safe transit of products from warehouses to consumers' homes. Traditional packaging materials like cardboard and bubble wrap continue to be widely used, but there is growing awareness of the need for sustainable alternatives.
Eco-friendly materials, such as recycled and biodegradable packaging, are gaining popularity. Companies like Shitla Paper are at the forefront of providing sustainable packaging solutions. By offering paper-based packaging materials that are both protective and environmentally friendly, Shitla Paper helps e-commerce businesses align with their customers' eco-conscious values.

there’s a lot going on here and I don’t know where to begin.
old (now vintage) romance cover illustrations were interesting look at and nothing like the cartoon ones. the cartoon minimalist covers are not sexy and bc of the quiet death of the chick lit genre—everything about love is called ‘Romance’ when in reality these cartoon cover books are actually chick lit/RomCom. you can still find Romance books (either contemporary or historical/ones with sex) with covers using models.

i bet the stuffy nose thing has something to do with histamines the body releases at certain points during its cycle. i follow some people who have MCAS and i've heard them talk about getting flares during their periods. bodies are so weird!
I'm sorry English acronyms aren't my thing, MCAS?
I've read that it could be possibly be because one of the molecules our bodies release to fight off disease is also used to get rid of the uterine tissue. But it's only a hypothesis because that's another ✨ mysterious ✨ thing about menstruation 🙄
Edit: I search the MCAS thing and I found something about planes and I doubt it's the right acronym 🤣
