there’s a lot going on here and I don’t know where to begin.
old (now vintage) romance cover illustrations were interesting look at and nothing like the cartoon ones. the cartoon minimalist covers are not sexy and bc of the quiet death of the chick lit genre—everything about love is called ‘Romance’ when in reality these cartoon cover books are actually chick lit/RomCom. you can still find Romance books (either contemporary or historical/ones with sex) with covers using models.

I finally watched The Thing the other week and it was fantastic, of course. But now I'm kind of wishing yet again that they remade the 2002 The Thing game. I never played through the whole game but I remember it having some cool features like... Trust system that determined whether your teammates trusted you or suspected your infection, and that affected their choice to follow your orders. Fear system that determined how scared they were which impacted their ability to successfully execute their jobs and follow commands. Infection system which gave everyone who came in contact with the Thing a random chance to become infected.
That's sounds like such a fun mechanic! Having to go through the research stations full of horrors while constantly trying to keep morale up, sharing ammo with your people so they don't feel powerless all the while you're all watching each other from the corner of your eyes because who knows if one of you is already infected...
The one thing I'd enjoy a modern adaptation/remake of is this game and it's not happening.

So the other day during Japan travels, I was able to meet the ingenious ticklingduck (this links to his Twitter account), master of t-word equipment development and innovation 🙌🏻🤩
After hearing him explain some of his ideas, I am so sure that he will be the one to bring the first t-wording machine into this world (😨🙃) I just know it! But until then, definitely worth checking out some of his current devices: some of the few tools in our community specifically made for t-wording (rather than being repurposed from an every day object LOL) 😱😍- and btw because of that fact alone, these tools are kinda uhhhh….. unreasonably effective adjfksla
here is the link to that store if you’re curious!!! : https://ticklemachine.booth.pm/
He even made a Tumblr to connect to you all easier, here is the tag to that as well! @ticklingduck 🥰 welcome to Tumblr my friend! And also, thank you for the claws (pictured above) can’t wait to use em 😇~

My growth as an artist was heavily stifled by the dogmatism in the online art community I was subjected to as a teen (aka by rhetoric implying or straight up saying art has to be made a certain way to be valuable, which discouraged me from experimenting and developing for my own methods, customising my artistic process felt illegal) and i will forever be mad about it
Anyways if any young artist follows me : the only good art advice is get weird about it and fuck around a lot. Also be honest

I know the fandom latched onto the 'Jeff's Inn by the Sea' thing early on as some sort of romantic idealized Retirement Goals (TM) endgame, but to me this has always sounded less 'domestic bliss' and more 'unmitigated disaster,' and the finale has definitely not changed my opinion on that. Like I'm giving this venture about a week before both of them are metaphorically clawing the curtains and gnawing the furniture. And the only reason I'm giving them that long is because I'm assuming they spend the majority of that first week screwing each other's brains out (with a few intermittent breaks for incompetent attempts at house renovation). Anne and Mary's antique shop really feels like foreshadowing here. Or at least a warning.
Glad they've got a chance to fail at something together, though (other than communicating about their relationship). Love that for them.

it’s interesting to see how taylor has always imagined her ideal partner as being courageous (“headfirst fearless,” “this love is brave and wild,” “you walked in wearing a football helmet and said okay let’s talk,” “don’t blame me love made me crazy if it doesn’t you ain’t doing it right,” “standing broad-shouldered next to her was a love that was really something….”) and how i think at first she thought that joe simply being willing to be with her felt courageous but then as she grew she realized that it wasn’t enough of that feeling because he wasn’t always standing broad-shouldered next to her, only when it was convenient for him. and that’s not fearless. that’s just doing what’s easiest

Our little brother grew up so fast!
It’d be so cute if Jamie was the tallest out of the three of them! Jack’s canonically 5′10″ (I think) and Hiccup’s 6′1″, which would make Jamie about 6′3″ here! Dawww :’’’D
--- and it’s even funnier seeing this teenage beanpole stumbling terrified through the woods looking for ghosts LMAO
