Hello, Neil Gaiman. I am writing this letter of gratitude because I am in despair, but I am obliged to you. I am Russian, I live in a small town in the south of Russia, in the Caucasus. a month ago I turned 16, so now I am fully responsible for all my actions. I'm bisexual, which is now illegal. you understand what I mean, but I’m simply scared to write about such things. absolutely no one knows about this, and I have to hide every day. this is an unbearable burden, but I must say thank you. because your projects are what gives me life. you have no idea how much pleasure it was for me, at eight years old, to fearfully admire Mr. Bobinsky. when, at 14, I finally saved up money for the Russian edition of Good Omens, which I had to order via the Internet not directly, but through my friends, I was quietly delighted. it is worth paying tribute to: this edition is really good and very warms the soul, its design may not be filled with elegance with a golden border, but it is very homely, cozy and imbued with love for the work, this can be felt, even if the translation is not the best. and on the very first pages I felt something that I had never experienced, having problems with the nervous system and anxiety: I felt protected and happy. I felt complete. each line was a sip of life-giving water for me. let me be so bold but this book is perfect for me and it's hard to believe it wasn't written for me personally haha. like two pieces of a puzzle. I hold the book of Good Omens, and I cry almost every time because it feels good just to hold it in my hands. you shouldn’t put this next to fanaticism, it’s just personal happiness. sometimes I felt so safe with this book that I hugged it as I fell asleep. then I saved up to the translation of script book for the first season, and I must say that I am confused, because there are no deleted scenes in it with Crowley shopping or the opening of Aziraphale's bookstore and others, and this was not clear to me. and a month ago, on October 30, my cousin, who is like my own sister, gave me the original Good Omens for my birthday. can you imagine? in all of Russia she was able to find only one person who carried out such foreign orders (please forgive me, I have little understanding of this). so, in some ineffable way, a copy was delivered to me via America from Corgi Books, I think, 2014. soft cover and thin pages, of course, but I'm so happy. and I’m also grateful to myself, because I’ve been learning English since I was seven, and therefore I’m glad that I can read the original. oh, you should have seen with what rapture I waited for the release of the second season at three in the morning! and with what delight I watched it in English without subtitles, understanding what was happening. this is happiness. what I want to say is that you bring…indescribable happiness to my life. you give me strength, and I don’t give up. I cry every time I allow myself to dream that I am escaping from here. that I can meet you and say thank you in person with my stupid accent, not so much because of my native language, but because of the braces, hahaha. but I never stop dreaming about it, although even this is hard. thank you for everything. I wish only peace and love. with devotion, love and gratitude, A.
I'm sending thoughts of love and concern. Stay safe.

Sukuna x Reader - Cursed Womb

Also sorry for not posting for a while. I'm working on an original book and it's sapping all of my creative energy lmaoooo
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Itadori removed his belt, tying it around his arm to stop the blood loss.
“I can’t escape after it’s gotten this close!” Itadori muttered, still tying the tourniquet, “Hey Sukuna! If I die, you die too, right?
“If you don’t want that, then help me out!”
“Nope!” he grinned, popping up on his cheek, gaining my attention, “Even if the parts of me inside you die, there are eighteen other fragments of my soul.
“Still, irritatingly enough, I don’t have control of this body. If you want to switch, go ahead and switch. But once you do, I’ll kill that brat before the cursed spirit can!
“Then I’ll go for that woman! She’s a lively one. I’ll have fun with her.
“And of course there's her.” he chimed looking at me, making me sweat, “I've had my eye on her since you swallowed my finger. I'll be sure to take my time on you.” He added, speaking to me this time. I gulped.
“I’m not going to let you do that.” Itadori barely whispered in horror.
“I bet. But if you’re too focused on me, your friends are gonna die.”
“Don’t listen to Sukuna, Yuji.” I uttered, scoffing at the cursed spirit, who eyed me curiously, “He’s trying to rile you up. And I can tell it’s working!
“I won’t let anything else happen to you two.” I concluded, “I’ll die before that happens.” I vowed.
“Cute, cute!” Sukuna cackled, “You think you can fight it, hm?
“You’re weak-”
“Can it, four eyes-”
The next thing we knew, the creature shot something out of its mouth at us, causing a small explosion, causing our ears to ring, unable to hear anything else. That’s when I realised it didn’t use a technique - a jujutsu.
It was pure cursed energy that it shot at us.
‘That’s possible…?’
“Fushiguro!” Itadori cried through the fog but it was so hard to hear, “(L/N)!” I shook my head, trying to get rid of the ringing that had all but ruined my hearing for the moment. But as he called both our names again we both snapped out of it, “Take Kugisaki and (L/N) and get out of here! I’ll keep this one busy until you three are out. As soon as you’re out, give me some kind of signal. Once you do…
“I’ll switch with Sukuna.”
“You know you can’t do that!” Fushiguro yelled, “Not with only one arm against a special-grade!”
“Look closer.” he explained, nodding towards the creature, “It’s having fun.” Fushiguro gasped, “It’s obviously toying with us.” I sighed and nodded, knowing this all too well, “I can at least buy us some time.”
“No!”
“Fushiguro! Please.”
“I’m going nowhere.” I exclaimed sharply, “Fushiguro will find Kugisaki with his Shikigami and get her out of here.
“But I will stay here.” I explained.
“No!” both yelled looking over at me sharply. I glared.
“I’m immune to curses.” I explained quickly, “I will be untouchable to both Sukuna and this curse.
“I need to stay to ensure your safety since I can’t heal you. I’ll then distract him long enough for you all to get out.”
“No way!” Itadori barked as Fushiguro shook his head.
“She’s right, Itadori!” He explained quickly, “If anyone has any chance of fighting this thing, it’s (L/N)-senpai!”
“I can’t leave.” Itadori concluded, “I refuse.”
“We can’t release Sukuna!” I argued, dodging the creatures next attack as it watched us in glee, “It will be too dangerous-”
“I won’t let you die, either!” Itadori concluded, “You can’t phase through it forever, right?” I froze at that.
We hadn’t found my limit yet. But, according to Gojo, my cursed energy is the most efficient he’s seen. And because of my supposed mixed heritage to Sugawara Michizane and the other two Big Three Vengeful Spirits of Japan, I have large levels of cursed energy, larger than Gojo has seen before. I haven’t run out before, but who knew how long it would be before that would happen, especially if I had to wait for a signal from Fushiguro. And that’s ignoring if I need to produce a lot of positive energy to heal both Itadori and I.
Itadori was right. We needed Sukuna.
“Fine.” I concluded, “Stay with me, keep close. I’m going to try and protect you.”
“But, (L/N)-senpai-”
“I’m staying. Sukuna is a last resort, okay?” I explained quickly, earning a sharp nod. I nodded back before ordering Fushiguro to leave. To my surprise, when he started running, he grabbed the name tag of the prisoner on his way out.
Once Fushiguro was out, we both got into stance, watching the curse as we thought of a game plan. Itadori refused to stay behind me, determined to protect me, despite my desperation to make him stay behind me so that I could protect him.
The curse in retort pulled off his trousers, making me sweat in confusion as it chuckled, leaving only its undergarments. I looked over at Itadori, who shrugged, before looking back at the curse. Itadori snorted.
“Trying to say it’s easier to move around in your underwear?”
“I mean, I feel you there, bro.” I admitted, rolling my shoulders, “If it were appropriate that’s how I’d live.”
Itadori wanted to joke, but he was too locked into the danger of the situation at hand. All as he contemplated on what to do.
I, on the other hand, went for the curse. From my training, I continued to isolate areas with Immunity so that I could still attack whilst not taking hits. So that’s what I did as I went to punch the curse when it tried to send cursed energy my way, dodging before making contact.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t with his face, but his palm, making me sweat as he laughed at me.
‘Fast…!’
Opening my palm, I grasped his hand and pulled him to me, catching him off guard, before headbutting him in the face with cursed energy, causing some blood to splutter from him. Itadori then came in, ready to support. However, before I could get to him, the curse threw a wave of cursed energy at him, sending him flying into the wall.
“Yuji!” I cried, running over to him. But the curse was faster, grinning as he advanced on Itadori with a cursed energy sphere, punching him through the wall and sending him bouncing onto the floor, causing me to cry out his name again.
With a growl, I appeared behind the curse and went to kick it through the gap, only for it to appear behind me and shove me through with cursed energy, just as he had done with Itadori moments before, sending me flying and into the wall on the other side.
Itadori only rose up when he was able to snap out of his abused state, the curse having begun to charge up before unleashing horrendously strong cursed energy.
“Senpai!” he yelled as I groaned. However when I got up I cursed, eyes widening as he held his hand out, trying to fight the cursed energy beam going through him and into me.
That’s when I realised that I wasn’t activating Immunity. And also that I wasn’t injured by his cursed energy.
‘No… if anything I absorbed it.’ I realised, feeling stronger, ‘I have more cursed energy.’
Itadori was crying and bloody, the pain unimaginable as his fingers slowly began to disintegrate. He began to regret his actions regarding the cursed object and how he wanted to run and get away. About how he didn’t want to die.
And I could feel it in his cursed energy. But not as much as I felt the sadistic pleasure from the cursed energy I absorbed from the curse currently hurting my son.
‘Yuji…’
“Don’t think!” Itadori cried, what was remaining of his hands out before falling back and into the wall all over again.
It was enough to send me into sadistic rage, the curse laughing at my anger.
I gritted my teeth, running towards it at a speed I didn’t know I was capable of, ready to punch it in the face again. However, I disappeared before reappearing behind it. That’s when I kicked through his back and out the other side, making it scream and writhe.
Pulling my leg out I went to punch it in the face, but it threw me to the ground, winding me.
“I was so full of myself.” I heard Itadori utter to himself as he stared at the ground in front of him, “I thought I was strong. I thought I was at least strong enough to choose when I died.
“I’m weak!” he looked at his hand, fingertips gone as I continued to pull on the arms of the curse, slowly and painfully, my tears flowing at the sight of Itadori.
To my surprise he began to heal himself from my cursed enhanced motions. I rolled over, narrowly avoiding it’s kick as I backed up, ready to go toe-to-toe with the creature all over again.
Unfortunately for the curse, I would get better with each move he made. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t take some beatings, but I was prepared to. It meant I could fight.
Unfortunately, no matter my natural speed, I didn’t have the reflexes to match, causing him to send me flying into the wall again without cursed energy this time. I was embedded in it, passing out for a moment.
“(F/N)-senpai…” Itadori uttered when he saw me before shaking his head, “I’m far too weak!” he yelled, standing up. He gripped his head with what was left of his hands as he cried, “Augh, I don’t want to die! No! No way!”
“But… I am going to die!”
Itadori began to focus on his emotions before imagining putting it into his fist. He was ready to be useful, in his mind, before charging.
“Yuji…!” I mumbled, in a daze, only for the curse to grab his cursed energy enhanced fist, making me curse as I got out of the rubble, slowly, whilst healing myself. The curse laughed at him as I snarled.
“Don’t you dare!” I barked, sensing its next move, up and out of the rubble as quickly as I could be.
“Damn it!”
But all of a sudden there was a howl. A loud howl.
It was Fushiguro’s signal.
I breathed a sigh of relief. They were safe.
However, I realised quickly there was no defeating this curse between Itadori and I. So I nodded at Itadori and instantly Sukuna was released from Itadori’s mind, healing him just as instantly as the special-grade curse flinched back at his presence.
I was ready to run.
Unfortunately, he grabbed me with an unimpressed look on his face, making me gasp in surprise.
“What a thoroughly annoying brat. He’s obviously screwing with me.” he contemplated, fist to chin in thought, the other hand letting go of me, “Go nowhere.” he ordered, directed at me, before patting the scared cursed spirit on the shoulder, “Hold on a moment. I’m thinking right now.”
The curse nodded profusely as Sukuna continued to think aloud.
“What can I do to make that brat regret this?” After a few moments of thinking, he grinned, “Hey, let’s go kill some kids. I’ve got one in mind already.”
I gasped, retreating. I knew he was talking about Fushiguro and Kugisaki, and I realised quickly that this was bad. He was going to bring the curse to us to fight the three of us.
‘Shit, shit, shit!’
However, before I could retreat, to my shock, It hopped away, scared and prepared to hesitantly brawl despite Sukuna’s unthreatening demeanour. He motioned for him to follow, growing the hand back and adding, “Follow me.”
However, the creature began to panic, forming strong cursed energy into a ball with both hands before throwing it.
“S-Sukuna-!” I pointed, but he simply rolled his eyes at my attempt to warn him.
“Baka.” he paused as the attack bypassed him, hand out, before looking at his hand, “Ah, shit. I healed this one, too.” I blinked.
‘He was purposefully not healing it.’ I shook my head, ‘He used the reverse cursed technique.’
He put his hands in his pockets, looking back at the curse, “You don’t like walks?” he looked away, “Well, cursed spirits are usually supposed to stay where they’re born. Fine, fine. In that case…” he grinned, “You die here!” he exclaimed, rushing the cursed spirit and grabbing it by the face before it could so much as twitch, “Hey what’s the matter? You’re not finished already, are you?” the creature gritted its teeth as it attempted to rise up, shakily, “That’s it. Come on, try harder.”
From there he stomped on its head, pressure causing the archway we were standing on to collapse and crumble, causing us all to fall.
I screamed, but found myself floating in the air, something Sukuna noted with slight intrigue. I gasped in surprise.
‘Nullification… It allows me to hover.’ I realised, slowly descending into the water before looking for an escape. This was all whilst I saw the spirit grasping at Sukuna’s foot, only for Sukuna to cut off their remaining arm and chill on a piece of debris after it attempted to throw him in a circle.
“Even a cursed spirit,” he raised his hand, holding the arm of the cursed spirit, “would miss their arm, right?” He cackled maniacally as the creature fell into the water below them.
I wasn't completely dumb. This was my opportunity to escape.
So that's what I did, spinning as I carefully, and quietly, made my way through the walls.
“Oi, don't move.” I froze, turning back to look at Sukuna who was smirking my way. I gulped.
‘Shit…’
“I haven't forgotten about you. Just be patient and wait there for me, woman.”
I cursed again. That was definitely addressed to me.
So I decided to run. However he was in front of me before I could even process what was happening. Hand on my shoulder, he stopped me from moving forward, physically bringing me to the curse that was currently embedded in the wall. I gulped along with it.
“Don’t try me.” he warned, pushing me forward, “Sit here.”
I did as I was told as Sukuna turned back to the curse. That was when he spliced the curse into five and embedded it into the wall.
“Hey, did you know? We’re both classified as special-grade, apparently.” Sukuna noted, looking up at the curse with a grin, “Both you and me, man.”
The spirit began to regenerate, forcing itself shakily out of the wall one new limb at a time. Sukuna watched on, still grinning.
“Good job, special-grade. Keep trying.” before the cursed spirit jumped before him, “You look happy. Want me to praise you?
“But healing with cursed energy isn’t that hard for cursed spirits, unlike for humans. Neither you nor these brats really understand what curses truly are.
“This is a good opportunity, so I’ll show you… What real jujutsu is.” he concluded before putting his fingers together in a specific formation.
“Domain Expansion.” He closed his eyes before opening them again, revealing his domain, “Malevolent Shrine!” I gasped in shock, instantly activating Nullification to be safe from the attack. The creature made a gurgling noise before it was split into five, making me gasp again.
“S-Sukuna…” I muttered, shocked as I tried to deconstruct his technique, but it made my head hurt.
“I was planning to cut you in three slices, but you’re really weak.
“Oh, yeah,” he noted, pulling out the finger from the cavity in the curses’ chest, “and then there’s this.
“I’ll be taking this.” he concluded, lifting it up as the pieces of the curse lit up from damage.
“It’s over.” Sukuna exclaimed, “This sucks! If you’re gonna switch, just do it already!” When he was met with silence from Itadori, Sukuna added, “What’s the matter, brat?” It was then he realised something. And he grinned so wide and gave a shallow laugh.
He was in control and not Itadori.
So I waited and waited until Itadori would take over, sure it would happen at any moment. When it didn’t, I began to panic. And it was delicious in Sukuna’s eyes.
‘Shit…’
Before Sukuna could even turn to me, I was out of there, running. He tsked at me, rolling his eyes.
“I thought I told you-” he grinned, appearing in front of me, “-to wait!”
Freedom was so close, yet so far as I felt him grab ahold of my uniform at the scruff, choking me as he tore the neck of my fabric. I squeaked, faltering slightly in my speed as I ripped off the blazer before he grabbed my hair next, making me wince and eyes widen in surprise and pain.
“Come, now.” he grinned evilly, “There’s no need to fight the inevitable.” I snarled.
“Get fucked, Sukuna! Fuck you!” I snarled, earning a child-like giggle.
“Exactly.
“Now get on your knees, whore.” I snarled.
“No fucking way!” I growled, going to punch him in the stomach, only for him to grab my fist and swat it away as though it were nothing.
Sukuna watched with amusement as I clawed at his hand still in my hair as he forced me down, though I refused to kneel despite his attempts. I couldn’t help but snarl, pulling him by the arm and flipping him over onto his back, catching him off guard. Immediately I raised up and went to stomp on him, but he blocked it with a grin, grabbing ahold of my foot.
“That’s more like it. You do know it’ll make it worse for you, though, right?”
Pushing me, I fell over with a yelp and before I could process it, hitting my head, he was on me, face to face with a wicked grin.
“It’s been so long since I’ve felt flesh on flesh.” he chuckled, “And yours is especially soft. Like the most pliable cotton, threatening to spill delicious blood at any moment.” he mused, feeling along my cheek, tauntingly, “I bet you bruise beautifully.”
“Don’t.” I flinched as he caressed my side, going up and down my body with a teasing touch. He chuckled.
“All that bravado gone and what is left, hm?” he whispered into my ear as he pressed himself against me, “A worm.”
“Fuck you.” I spat.
“You haven’t pushed me away yet.” he remarked, “I’m hardly pinning you here. Maybe you are trained already.” as if realising he was right, I tried to push him off of me, but failed, earning a chuckle, “So weak.” I snarled at that notion, close to tears at how helpless I felt.
When I applied cursed energy, however, I found myself able to roll us and jumped back, ready to fight. Sukuna didn’t say anything, simply rolled his eyes and shoulders before putting his hands back in his pockets. He was casual, as if to say ‘fine if we must’ as I used my cursed energy to fight him.
He was surprised, actually, at how quick I was and how capable I had become after a few, albeit long, sessions with Gojo, Itadori and Fushiguro. He had to put some energy into the scenario in order to bat away my attacks.
So I ramped them up, going faster.
“You know, I theorised that Gojo let you hit him that day.” he grinned, “But now you’re starting to intrigue me with how quick you’re learning.” he admitted as I growled.
“What do you want me to say to that?”
“Gratitude would be nice.” I scoffed.
“I’ll show you gratitude when you switch back with Yuji.” he laughed.
“Fat chance.”
I was tiring. I didn’t seem to be getting anywhere. I feigned energy, but I was exhausted and overstimulated.
Sukuna was just too fast. Not to mention he was still doing this half heartedly. It made me realise how easy Gojo had been actually going with me during his sparring sessions. It also made me realise I needed to practise more. I needed more if I were going to go toe to toe with the beast that was Sukuna.
However Sukuna could read me like a book despite my attempts to mask. He knew when I was about to run away based on lacking energy, using the last of it to hopefully get me to safety. He could see the very moment I’d even thought I could.
And when I did, he was already there, gripping me close to his chest as though he’d teleported in front of me, making me squeak like a mouse, in his mind.
“You know, I can tell you’re getting tired.” he chuckled, “You can’t improve if the other person isn’t willing, can you?”
That was why I wasn’t improving. He wasn’t investing. And he watched as horror displayed itself on my features.
“Beautiful, really. You weren’t meant for fighting, were you?” he cooed, making me cringe as his nose rubbed mine before he chucked me through a few walls to his left. When that was over, he did the same only up.
“This ought to have tired you out.”
He then picked me up by the hair again and dragged me into the centre of the new room, throwing me down on the ground violently, causing craters and cracks to form before the floor caved in, making me fall to the lowest level of the building. I groaned, body littered with cuts, bruises and some broken bones as I coughed the dust out of my lungs. But still, I rose up, ignoring the pain as my body automatically healed itself and was already back in stance, something Sukuna noted with sincere intrigue.
“Oi, oi!” he clapped, cheerily, “You’re lasting longer than I expected! Durable, aren’t you?” he chuckled.
So I went for him again, finding more energy despite the dwindling supply. Sukuna watched, curious as I continued to attempt to battle him, resulting in sending me flying through more walls and up through the ceilings of the buildings and then back down through them all over again. And despite all of this, I continued to get into sparring position and then charging. It was impressive, he had to admit, that determination to win. It was quite attractive.
“I picked well!” he beamed, punching me in the gut, causing me to cough up blood, “You’re so determined. Maybe it wasn’t all talk.” he wondered as I staggered back, starting to feel the brunt of my attempts, “You tired out yet? I’m getting bored waiting for your tantrum to be over.” I snarled, remembering my purpose and finding more energy I didn’t even know I had.
I said nothing as I charged again, this time feigning my moves before twisting to create new ones. I harnessed my cursed technique as well as I could, adapting on the fly to his rebuttals. It got to the point that I thought I might be able to land a hit.
Until he vanished only to kick me into the ground behind me, winding me and thoroughly shattering my ribcage and sternum.
He chuckled before sitting on top of me as I wheezed, passing out for a moment before coming to as he gently began to caress my bleeding head. He began smearing it across my cheek when tears from the pain and fatigue fell, cooing at me. All whilst I tried to regain control over my own head, which was spinning. I didn’t know what was up or down and he liked the fucked up look on my features. He chuckled again.
“I kept your pretty face clean, huh?” he noted, continuing to caress my face as though it were fine china, “After all, I want something pretty to look at when I fuck.” he admitted before grinning down at me when I came to again, having passed out momentarily for the second time, “You prefer this, huh? Want to be romanced like I was Gojo?” I groaned my disagreement, but it only made him cackle more, “There must be someone you like.”
I spit out some blood onto his face in response, earning a maniacal grin.
“Don’t act so shy now. You know I already know your attraction to powerful men.” I tsked and rolled my eyes.
“Then you really don’t know me, huh?” I muttered horsley, shaking my head as I attempted to get my eyesight back, “I really am not that interested in men, women or otherwise unless there’s something they can give me.”
“Hm. I suppose we’re one in the same there.” he snickered, “How does that feel?” I rolled my eyes.
“You’re insane-” Shoving him off of me with all my strength so I was straddling him, dripping with sarcasm, “-we make a great match.”
Sukuna rolled his eyes, feeling up my thighs through the gaps in my trousers. It was then he dragged his nails across my thighs, cutting them and making me wince and clench, before bringing the blood to his mouth. He groaned.
“So delicious for a whore-”
“I’m not a whore!” I snapped, slapping him across the face with cursed energy, causing his head to snap to the side, “I’m done with your shit! Either kill me or go away!”
I looked down at him in horror as I raised my hand, realisation of what I’d just done coming to the surface. So when he grinned, my heart fell into my ass all over again as I gulped.
‘I fucked up.’
“You still have fight. Adorable, really. I’ll allow it this one time.” he mused, gripping my thighs so hard they not only bled where his nails met my skin, but would bruise in large hand-shaped marks, “But I’m done playing.”
I knew what was coming next.
The next thing I know, everything was removed. My bra, underwear, trousers and overskirt, gone.
The seriousness of the situation dawned upon me further as the cold air nipped at me, raising the hairs on my skin as I shivered, causing me to let out an audible gasp. When he grinned up at me, hands still in a bruising grip on my thighs, I gulped, all three eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights.
“Better than I expected.” he admitted, licking his lips, “It’s been so long.” he grinned, reaching out to tweak my pierced nipple, but I slapped him away, earning a dark look.
“Do that again and I’ll cut it off.” he warned, making me whimper. However when I made a motion to move, to hide myself from his gaze, he pushed me onto my back before flipping onto me.
“S-Sukuna-!”
“Don’t beg.” He warned, lowly, “Unless it's to fill you with my seed.” My eyes widened as I began to panic.
As if sensing a whole new wave of protest, he grabbed my face and smashed my head into the floor. Once, twice, thrice. Just enough to know I wouldn’t do anything to stop him from completing his desires.
I groaned, dazed as he leaned back and observed me fully. So bare before him, he awed at the way my nipples stiffened in response to him barely touching them, indulging in tracing his fingers across all my piercings and loved the smell of my sex in the air.
“Too beautiful for a sorcerer.” he mused, moving my hair out of my face as he caressed and assaulted my body with his hands and eyes, “They should have kept you as a breeding tool. Then maybe you wouldn’t get pregnant with my child.”
I was too dazed to understand what he was saying. I watched as he nipped and sucked at my skin, peppering it with undesired attention, being cruel as he used his teeth and watched for my skin’s reaction. When it wasn’t satisfactory, he’d up his motions until he was fully biting my neck, collar bone, breasts and thighs, making me cry out in pain. I couldn't help my whimpers and moans, filter off in my dazed state.
“So responsive.” he chuckled. I didn’t take it in at all, even as he began salivating at my core, having moved lower and lower. He was nose deep as he began to lap at my juices. It was when he harshly sucked on my clit and I moaned his name, much to his amusement, that I realised what was going on and namely who the culprit was.
“S-stop…!” I uttered out, hand to my head as I attempted to stabilise myself.
However Sukuna didn’t stop. He continued to lick and suck harshly at my clit and lips in a cruel pace, flicking his tongue expertly against me as he lapped up my juices greedily. Sometimes he dipped into my clenching hole, just for an extra taste, curling it around. He considered this treating himself. And god did it taste so good; like nectar of the Gods.
When I started to squirm and pant, unable to fight him off any longer, he pinned my pelvis and thighs to the floor, open and exactly where he wanted them. And all I could do was cum on his tongue until he was done, body overstimulated and aching.
“Mh! N-no! No more- s’ too m-much!” I squeaked, pleading as if it would make any difference. Sukuna wasn’t so much interested in my pleasure - even my foggy brain could comprehend that.
No, he was trying to make this memorable. Traumatic. He also wanted to prove a point, which was that he could break me whilst also proving there would never be anyone better than him. There was nothing better than putting a bitch in their place.
I yelped as he nipped harshly on my clit when I tried to find purchase with my hands in his hair, so I clawed at the ground as I had another orgasm come and go, squirting my juices onto his face, something which made his cock jump to attention; he chose well.
Sukuna would stop when he wanted to stop. He would pay attention to my body, sure, but right now he was only interested in breaking me and his own pleasure. And right now he was indulging himself in a taste he hadn’t experienced in so, so long.
Thoroughly prepped, Sukuna didn’t waste time in pulling his cock out. However, I’d grown more lucid and began to kick and fuss, earning a slap to my tits.
“Don’t stop me. I will kill you.”
“You’ll kill me, anyway!”
“Not if you have a use.” he snickered cruelly before pulling me to meet his pelvis, cock rubbing against my folds, teasingly, smearing our fluids against one another, earning a shaky moan from Sukuna, “And you are useful.”
I grabbed at his face, his chest, his hair - anywhere I could get purchase - to try and shove him off in my weakened state. But I couldn’t do anything. He wasn’t even taking my attempts seriously, instead laughing down at me as lined up his cock with my entrance before slowly plunging in.
Instantly his face was contorted into something tense until he bottomed out, then it relaxed as he released a deep, shaky breath.
“Looks like you’re not a whore after all. So fucking tight…” he hissed as I cried, “I wonder what you’d feel like on my cock in my true form.” He snickered cruelly, “I’d split you in half with just one of them.”
Crying was all I could do as I tried to push him away using his chest as leverage. When I did, however, he pinned both wrists to the ground before pulling out, only to slam back in harshly, setting a brutal pace that had me unable to make any noise even if I’d wanted to.
Sukuna didn’t remember it feeling quite as good as this. No, he was sure this was all me. And it made him drunk on the sensation. Enough that he just wanted to bury himself in me and stay that way for a while, but he remembered the point of this exercise was more than to get him off.
No, this was about putting me in my place.
He hardly even considered that this could’ve been Itadori’s virginity he was taking for him, nor did he care. He also didn’t care for my feelings, either. In fact, he was revelling in my silent cries as he continued to pound into my wet cunt, obnoxious squelching and slapping noises reverberating off the walls of the concrete jungle we were in with each thrust.
Unsurprisingly, I was dead to the world by this point, pliant in his hold, enough that he was able to bend me in a mating press, pleasantly surprised by my flexibility as he got impossibly deeper inside whilst pushing my knees to my head, practically fucking my cervix. It was painful, but also pleasurable - pain I could take. But gaining any pleasure from this was the last thing I wanted.
I would not cum on his cock of all places.
But the way his cock buried itself inside of me, bruising that sweet spot at such a sickening pace was enough to leave me seeing stars as I dissociated.
“Still ready to fight?” he chuckled, “I’ll fuck that out of you-” He snarled, getting lost in the sensation of my hole quivering around him, milking him, “That’s right, take it all.”
He was getting close.
Suddenly I was violently slammed back into the driver’s seat as he folded me into a deeper mating press, wanting to see me cum as he choked me out. I shook my head, desperate to avoid it. Desperate not to cum. He chuckled, amused at this visible attempt, a vein popping on my forehead.
“What’s wrong? Don’t wanna cum?” he snickered.
It felt so damn good. But it was dirty and I didn’t want it.
“You’re going to cum on my cock.” Sukuna whispered harshly against my ear, not sparing me a glance as he watched himself enter and exit me, over and over rhythmically, sweaty forehead to my own. It was addicting to watch and with four eyes, he was more than capable of watching everything he wanted to - my face when I came and whatever came out of me as my climax washed over me, causing me to cry out as I squirted down his cock.
“S-Sukuna!” I found myself clawing at his back as he fucked me through my high. He laughed at me as I tried to find purchase, eyes rolling back so prettily.
“Beautiful, beautiful.” he sang, “Prepare yourself. I’m going to breed this tight cunt.” he grinned viciously, grip leaving my thighs to grasp directly at my hips, forcing me against him impossibly closer as he chased his own high, causing me to orgasm a second time.
“So easy to make you cum.” he chuckled airily, “Gonna do it again? Hm?” I shook my head violently as tears spilled. Whether it was from the earth shattering orgasms or the disgusting nature of them, I wasn’t sure. But all I knew is he was fucking me dumb and I didn’t like it. Especially at his next words.
“You cum when I tell you to, you got that Pet?” he warned, “Otherwise I won’t stop fucking you until you do.” he warned before chuckling, “Or maybe I’ll do both.” he grinned nodding as he huffed against me, “See how many orgasms I can get out of you.”
I knew I was doomed then. Because I was close and Sukuna knew it from the way I gripped him as he buried himself inside of me over and over again.
But I did what I was told. I held it off as much as I could. It’s not like I wanted to cum in the first place. But he could tell I was failing in my war against it, eyes screwed shut with tears falling as I babbled, squealed and panted in my attempts. He chuckled.
“Now. Cum now.” he barked in my ear, picking up the pace impossibly fast. I shook my head.
“Fuck you!” I snarled as I came, nails digging into his neck and back until they were surely bleeding. He didn’t care; revelled in it, in fact.
It was enough that he, proudly, could climax inside of me. However he didn’t let up. Instead, he continued to rut into me at the same brutal pace, as though he hadn’t cum at all, fucking his and my cum into me. It was then it became obvious that he was only interested in his own pleasure and watching me come undone all for the wrong reasons.
I was desperate for it to be over as he changed positions slightly, sitting up as he grasped my legs and pulled them to his chest. It reached new depths and I suspected that his cock had not only bruised my cervix but was downright fucking it from the blinding pain I was in.
I clawed at the ground until my fingers were bleeding. I couldn’t stop my cries and moans despite trying my best. I felt dirty. I felt used. And he was nowhere close to done based on how he was fucking into me so rhythmically. As though he was addicted.
And in a way he was. He was getting pussy drunk as he watched my tits bounce with each thrust. It was downright addictive.
He couldn’t let me go after this. No, he couldn’t let Gojo have me. It was rare he found a feisty woman he could dominate so well. Especially when he realised I had two vaginas for him to fuck; it was perfect, he concluded, scheming.
No, this was a dynamic he wanted to continue.
So, once I’d passed out as he continued to use me for his own pleasure, he made sure to mark me on my throat. Somewhere obvious. Somewhere anyone could be reminded of him. It was the same shape as the seal on his tongue whenever he spoke in Itadori’s body. And it linked to him.
He would know what I was doing at all times. He’d be able to keep track of me. He couldn’t help but laugh as he climaxed, leaving more bruises on me as he forced me to cum through my passed-out state, flicking my clit mercilessly, watching as I spasmed around him, more fluid shooting out and onto his pelvis despite my state.
This was exactly as he’d imagined it would be. Ne, better, even.
This couldn’t have gone better, and he was going to take his time to appreciate and indulge in it, that was sure.
I wasn't sure how long the whole act lasted. I lost track of how many rounds we went, how many times I came or how many times he came. I just know I was red raw and that my body was a bruised mess as he began to mark me with his nails and teeth, clawing and biting - and I mean clawing and biting - at me till I was bleeding and would likely scar. There were bruises everywhere and I was in agony.
I was left there by him until he was done using me, having passed out ages ago. When I came to he was walking away and I was alone. I winced, feeling everything hit me all at once.
I was butt-naked, covered in bruising, bites, scratches and hickeys. I was in pain as his cum pooled out of me and onto the floor, down my thighs.
I used my eyes, seeing Sukuna leave me alone, done with me and my breath hitched when I recognised the image of Fushiguro with him.
I didn’t have a hope in hell of helping him. And yet I stumbled to my feet, grabbing the jumpsuit from one of the dead inmates, not having anything else to cover myself with, before charging.
That was when he looked back at me, ready to use his cursed technique to be away with me. I snarled, dodging the attack with Immunity. But the bigger shock was the fact I was healing myself, without even realising it; it was subconscious and preemptive, which had Sukuna staring at me, finally seeing me as more than just an object.
“Oi, oi, oi!” he chuckled, “Even more potential!” he beamed, laughing maniacally. I glared as he added, “Maybe you were right and you have more use than just a cock sleeve. Look at you.” he cackled and immediately I grew suspicious, “I did cum in you, afterall. Only a woman interesting is worthy of my seed.
“Come on.” he motioned for me to run at him, “I’ll entertain you. See if you can implement positive energy with your fighting style.” he offered, making me gasp.
This was a turn. Originally he was planning to just use me to get off and leave, keeping me alive for future use. But now I’d intrigued him to the point that he wanted me to go all out.
So, I did as I was told, even as his cum spilled out of my womb and through the jumpsuit, some down my legs, the abuse still raw. And yet I was still trying.
It was something that made his grin impossibly wider.
I was already quite fast - fast enough to mostly keep up with a slow version of Gojo. However, when I applied my cursed energy to them, it allowed me to speed up closer to both Gojo and Sukuna’s levels. The more I practised, the faster I got and even Sukuna could plainly see my quick learning and adaptability.
What really intrigued him, however, was my attempts at my cursed techniques. He watched as I bobbed and weaved through his attacks, literally, whilst keeping my fist aimed towards him physical. It meant that, whilst none of his hits were landing, I was still able to attack whilst isolating parts of my body.
That required a lot of concentration and control.
So when I tried to apply positive energy, his grin became even wider. He watched as it flared between one hand and the other. However, when I stopped, he frowned.
“You can’t stop in the middle of a battle, brat.” he glared, “You dare waste my time?” I shook my head.
“I-I’m trying to do something but…”
“What is it now?” I frowned.
“If I can just combine them, I can use them simultaneously.” I mumbled, earning a raised brow. I looked down at my hands, brows furrowed, as I attempted to channel both positive energy and cursed energy together, only for it to create more positive energy. I growled.
“No one can use them simultaneously-” Sukuna began, ready to mock.
Until I did. I grinned.
“Emulsification.” I concluded, walking in a semicircle towards him. His gaze didn’t drop from my hands, “The ability to use Immunity as a barrier to mix positive energy AND cursed energy simultaneously, without cursed energy turning directly into positive energy.”
“You used the basic capability of Immunity to separate and yet mix the two.” he laughed, “Nice, very nice.” he commended before motioning for me to rush him, “Now fight me. Show me your worth.”
Unfortunately, Sukuna was anything but kind when it came to his fights. And I wasn’t good enough to avoid all of his hits as he attempted to throw me up into the reminder of the ceiling, sending me up and then down.
When I landed with a flip, I went for him again. Punch, kick, block. I couldn’t land a hit as he effortlessly dodged, hands in his pockets and a grin on his face.
When he punched me in the face, through the building and into the rain, he dragged me through the floor, making me groan as my head bled. Instantly I was already applying cursed energy preemptively to heal myself, but I didn’t realise one terrifying prospect.
“(L/N)-senpai?!”
My eyes widened when I heard Fushiguro. Shaking my head I got to my feet.
“Get out of here, Megumi-”
“Sorry, but he’s not coming back.” Sukuna greeted, appearing behind Fushiguro as I ran over towards him, getting between them, “Don’t be so frightened. I’m in a great mood right now.
“Let’s chat for a bit.” he concluded, walking past us with his hands in his pocket, casually, “This is what he gets for trying to use me without any kind of pact. Feels like he’s having some trouble switching back.
“Still, though…” Sukuna removed his shirt and hoodie, forcefully, “It’s only a matter of time.
“So… I thought about what I can do right now.”
To our shock and horror, Sukuna stabbed into his chest, causing him to cough up blood, and reached in. We both gasped.
“Wh-what are you…?” I shook my head.
“His heart…” our eyes widened.
“I’m taking this brat hostage. Fucking you was just the start.” Sukuna cackled, making Fushiguro look over at me, horrified as the realisation of what had happened to me, and why I was wearing different clothes, dawned upon him. However, he was distracted by the heart.
“Hostage?!” Fushiguro begged, tense.
“Yeah. I can live without this, but that ain’t true for the brat.” he revealed, throwing it to the side. I gulped.
“Switching out with me means he dies.”
‘Reverse cursed technique will be able to heal him, but I’d have to go through Sukuna; it’s not like he’s gonna let Itadori take control before dying nor will he let me use the technique without a fight…’
“Also…” he added, bringing out the finger the cursed spirit had had lodged in its chest, “For good measure.” he grinned, before slowly eating it, “With that, I’m free as a bird.
“You can be frightened now.” he tensed up, grinning maniacally, “I’ll kill you! For no particular reason.”
“Our positions are reversed now.” Fushiguro muttered before getting into position, “You just don’t get it. He’s…
“Itadori’s coming back.” he concluded, me nodding in agreement, “Even if that means he’ll die. That’s just who he is.”
“You give him too much credit. This guy’s just a little tougher and denser than other humans.” he smirked, wiping away the blood from his mouth, “Just a moment ago, he was scared out of his mind, on the verge of death, and prattling on about his regrets and all that nonsense.
“I know for a fact he doesn’t have the guts to kill himself.”
Fushiguro noted that Itadori’s hand was restored, clearly by one of the reverse cursed techniques. However, he also recognised that Sukuna was incarnated and that, therefore, he should still be affected being without a heart. He concluded he’d try to restore his heart before Itadori returns - and I was thinking similarly.
‘We need to restore his heart.’ I frowned, ‘If I could get get close enough to him to do it, we should be good-’
Fushiguro had no clue if he could do that, knowing how he reacted to the special-grade that Sukuna just killed, shaking. He also didn’t think I looked capable of doing the same. However, he concluded it wasn’t about if we ‘could’ - we had no choice.
Immediately Fushiguro signed for his Shikigami, bringing Nue to the front, making me gasp.
“Megumi-!”
Sukuna stretched as Fushiguro charged, Nue going to the other side of Sukuna, both ready to attack. I cursed, but followed, also on the offensive.
“I’m finally outside, after all.” Sukuna grinned, “Let’s use the open space.”
Fushiguro went for a kick, then two punches as I attacked from the other side, both missing as Sukuna dodged expertly, hands still in his pockets like before. More punches, none landing, ensued before Sukuna jumped to the side.
“Interesting.” he mused, “You use Shikigami, but you’ll still come at me yourself.” he concluded as he ignored me, batting off my attacks like a duck in water.
Nue dived, only for Sukuna to dodge again. Frustrated, Fushiguro went for another punch, then a kick as I tried to uppercut him before going for his gut, both trying to take advantage of Nue’s distraction, only for him to continue dodging with his hands still in his pockets.
Fushiguro and I continued to punch and kick with all our might. And Sukuna watched in amusement, chanting, “More.” He then, in a change of pace, grabbed Fushiguro’s fist and pulled him towards himself before swinging him, “More!” he concluded, pulling him so they were face to face, “Put more curse behind it,” he practically purred before backhanding Fushiguro, “when you strike me!”
“Megumi!” I yelled.
“Orochi!” Fushiguro yelled, signing for him. Unperturbed, Sukuna let the Shikigami bite him, pulling him into the sky, “Gang up on him!”
“Megumi, withdraw!” I yelled, seeing his cursed energy flaring even as Nue came in with sparks flying.
Unfortunately, I was too late as Sukuna split Orochi from the inside out and suddenly he was on the ground, fist grappling the back of Fushiguro’s blazer. I gulped, running towards them, unprepared for Sukuna’s next move.
“Hey, what did I just say?” he uttered before throwing Fushiguro through the air.
“Megumi!” I cried before cursing. Quickly I used Nullification to fly after them, going to kick Sukuna before he could reach Fushiguro, only for him to grab my foot, spin me in the air and throw me into Fushiguro.
“Let’s use the open space!” Before leaping after us and kicking us both into the buildings, forcing us both across two buildings.
That wasn’t enough, of course. He then appeared to Fushiguro’s left and kicked him into another building, forcing him through it and out the other side. Before throwing me in the same direction. I just about had time to react, activating Nullification on the descent. My legs were broken and I was suffering many serious injuries. So as I healed myself I looked for Fushiguro, cursing myself for not being capable of healing others.
Nue, on it, swooped in, grappling Fushiguro mid-air as Fushiguro lamented in his mind about how powerful Sukuna is, only for him to jump up, ready to strike them down.
“Nice technique there.” he noted, battering them down and into a building, to which they collapsed through until hitting the bottom.
“Megumi!” I yelled, appearing beside him. Fushiguro, on the other hand, concluded it was best to withdraw Nue before he’s destroyed like Orochi, reminding him of how White Dog was also destroyed.
“I get it now.” Sukuna noted, hands on his hips, “So your Shikigami are created from shadows.
“So what?”
“Hmm…” Sukuna mused, hand to chin, “I don’t get it, though. Why did you run back then?” he chuckled, releasing his chin and motioning his hand outwards, “What a waste of talent.” that caught Fushiguro’s attention, “Whatever.
“Either way, that won’t be enough to fix this.” he directed at the gaping hole in his chest. I deflated as Fushiguro smirked, both realising our plan was figured out, “You’re risking your life over stupid shit. This brat isn’t even worth that much.” Fushiguro hobbled to stand, barely stable as I supported him, only for him to push me behind him as I was close to passing out.
However, he began to get into position, cursed energy enveloping his body, all as he thought of his sister and her curse as well as his deadbeat father. Then it moved onto his desires of wanting more good people to enjoy fairness with no thanks to karma.
“Nice!” Sukuna grinned, “That’s it.
“So this is when you start burning through your life! Now I see.” he uttered, walking forward, “Well, in that case… Show me, Fushiguro Megumi!” he cried.
It was in that moment everything clicked for me. I could digest cursed energy, break it down and read it. It was enough that I could understand Sukuna’s cursed technique and possibly utilise it myself. Everything made sense.
So I watched as Fushiguro prepared his attack and I swallowed, hard, my head hurting.
“Sacred treasure swing and ring, ring, Eight Grip-!”
Suddenly all of his cursed energy left him. He stood there in the rain, still in stance. I was prepared to fight as I was nearly fully healed, but he relaxed slightly, confusing me as I slumped on the ground, spent.
“Just so you know, I… don’t have any logical reason for saving you back then.” Fushiguro admitted, “Even if it was dangerous, I couldn’t bear to see a good person like you die.
“I did have my reservations, but ultimately, it was for selfish, emotional reasons.
“That’s fine, though.” he added, “I’m not a hero.” he released his form and relaxed as Itadori began to take back control, “I’m a jujutsu sorcerer.
“So I’ve never once regretted saving you.”
“Yuji…” I began to cry, shaking my head, unable to use positive energy any longer.
“I see.” Itadori grinned, rubbing the back of his head, “You really are smart, Fushiguro. You’ve put more thought into this than I have.” he admitted before concluding, “I think your conviction’s a proper one, but I don’t think mine is wrong, either.”
More blood spilled from his wound as blood stilled in his body. There wasn’t long left and he knew it. I was close to blacking out.
“Oh, sorry, I’m almost done for.” he reminded, “Guess I won’t have to worry about you both, Kugisaki, or Gojo-sensei.” he uttered before beginning to fall, done for, “Live a long life.”
Fushiguro’s lip wobbled as he held in tears. I, on the other hand, openly bawled my eyes out.
“Yuji…” I cried, bringing my hands to my face as I crouched down beside him, shaking my head. To my surprise, I felt Fushiguro place a hand gently on my head, making me look up.
He gave a weak smile. It held sadness and empathy.
I returned it before passing out.

Mrs Hennigan, why was your husband trying to save this painting in particular?
We’ll do our best to get it back for you.
I’m special agent Marcus Pike, this is agent Searles. You’re… Patrick Jane, right? Abbot’s guy?
What makes you say that?
Sure. I’ve heard good things about you. We’d be happy to have your input. These guys, they’re… they’re really good. And our cases don’t usually lead to homicide.

Stolen art can take a long time to sell. So our guess is they’re sitting on a lot of the art, including the paintings from yesterday's heist.
Well, they’ve only slipped up once. We found a glove a few blocks from a gallery they robbed in Phoenix. We managed to get a partial print and we got a hit. Aaron Polaski. Time for armed robbery and battery, he’s also the former middleweight boxing champ at Fulsom prison.
Yeah, we brought him in for questioning but he lawyered up quick and told the CIP. These guys are pros.
We do, but nothings popped. Doesn't seem to have a lot of friends. He hangs out a lot at a bar on sixth street.
So, how do we do that?
I don’t know what any of that means.

No. Just, once or twice…
Well, I-I don’t wanna second guess you, Mr Jane, but if you wanna use these paintings as bait, the guy running this crew knows a lot about art, he’ll know this stuff is stolen.

It’s going good. You got a nice red cross.
Yeah.

No, we’ve got eyes on ‘em. Don’t worry. You’re safe. I wouldn’t lie to you.
Well you’re… you were real good.
Well, that’s a shame. There’s a pretty good diner just down the street from you. Biscuits and gravy, if that’s your thing.
Alright, well what about pancakes?
They have about six kinds; chocolate chip, banana, all that good stuff.
Maybe, just a… little bit. I can have some sent over to you.
No, you’re right I won’t tease you anymore. I won’t even mention the waffles.
Right, well I don’t know what a canape is, but bon appetit. Goodnight, Lisbon.

Do you wanna go?
Yeah. Dinner is the best time for breakfast. What do you say?
Look, if you don’t wanna go, just say so. We’re cool. It’s good, but I like you, and I think you’re a hell of a good looking woman and I’d love to get to know you better.
Let’s go.

It’s just work stuff. Listen, I was wondering if we could get dinner tonight? Or… is that weird because we went out last night? Is-is two nights in a row weird?
Okay, good. I’ll make a reservation.
Well, like I said, I like to make a fuss.
Yeah.

That work stuff, it’s actually a promotion. The Bureau is forming a task force to deal with international art theft. It’ll be working with Scotland Yard and a few other agencies. Long story short, they, uh, they-they want me to run it. Yeah, but they want me to run it from DC.
So, I’m telling them no.
Well, I’m allowed.
I’m not a kid. I’ve been married and divorced. I know when something’s real. And when it could get serious. I feel that way about us. Do you… feel that way?
Look, one thing I know is that when you feel that way about someone, you gotta hang on ‘cause… because it doesn't happen very often.
I know. It’s okay.
What if you came with me?
I’m asking what if we went to DC, you and me, together? What do you think of that, Teresa?

I watched all the Chinese idol survival shows so you don’t have to (but you should anyway)
Tumblr media
About three years ago, I watched 创造101 Produce 101 China, and it kinda changed my life. Yes, really! This show dragged me down a rabbit hole that eventually led to me watching many more Chinese shows and listening to almost exclusively Chinese music. I’m even branching out to cdramas now. All under the guise of, um, improving my listening comprehension!
OK, so “all the Chinese idol survival shows” might be an exaggeration. I’ll be talking about these three classic idol group survival shows from the “golden age” period of 2018-2021:
>> 偶像练习生 Idol Producer/青春有你 Youth with You (iQiyi)
偶像练习生 Idol Producer
青春有你1 Youth with You 1
青春有你2 Youth with You 2
青春有你3 Youth with You 3
>> 创造101 Produce 101/创造营 Chuang (Tencent)
创造101 Produce 101 China
创造营2019 Produce Camp 2019
创造营2020 Chuang 2020
创造营2021 Chuang 2021
>> 以团之名 All For One/少年之名 We Are Young (Youku)
以团之名 All For One
少年之名 We Are Young
Here is the order I actually watched these 10 seasons in:
创造101 Produce 101 China
青春有你2 Youth with You 2
创造营2020 Chuang 2020
创造营2019 Produce Camp 2019
偶像练习生 Idol Producer
青春有你1 Youth with You 1
青春有你3 Youth with You 3
创造营2021 Chuang 2021
以团之名 All For One
少年之名 We Are Young
I started 创造101 Produce 101 China in late 2019/early 2020 and finished 少年之名 We Are Young on Christmas Day 2022. I was literally tearing up. Three franchises, ten seasons, something around 1000 contestants, and three years of my life.
In order to refresh my memory for this post, I rewatched almost all of the performance clips from these shows. I didn’t watch the initial evaluations or any practice room videos (it’s simply too much content). It was simultaneously fun and exhausting. I will go over why you should/shouldn’t watch each season and give any other notable remarks. Let’s get started!
*Please note that for any YouTube links below, there is a risk of muted sections, parts/entire episodes being unavailable, and missing/out of sync subtitles. For official links, whether or not a VIP subscription is needed may change in the future. Fansubbed content may have sections or entire episodes missing.
>> 偶像练习生 Idol Producer/青春有你 Youth with You (iQiyi)
iQiyi rebranded the series by changing its name from 偶像练习生 Idol Producer to 青春有你 Youth with You after the first season. However, they really didn’t change much about the format at all. From what I’ve heard, iQiyi doesn’t have as large a budget as Tencent, which you can see reflected in the show’s production quality. However, I’ve long felt that this franchise has a real charming quality that makes up for lack of flashy sets.
偶像练习生 Idol Producer
Watch on iQiyi (English subs, VIP needed) Watch via Idol Producer Subs (English fansubs, missing part of finale)
Why you should watch it: Though not China’s first idol survival show, this show was the first of a new era. It’s iconic! The theme song is a bop, 10/10. Also, I had heard of all of the winners before I watched this season, so there’s some real cultural relevance. I can’t believe it was nearly five years ago! The whole top 20 remains iconic to this day. In most seasons, there are at least one or two popular contestants who I don’t really like or don’t see the appeal of, but that wasn’t the case this season. This season is also a lot shorter than later seasons, so it’s easier for those who are new to survival shows.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: As I mentioned, there is a lack of flashy sets/stages here. The background of the stage often looks empty. There were some performances that were better than I remembered, but there were others that were...not. I’m pretty sure 黄明昊 Justin was 15 when the show began, which shocks me in a BAD way. And if you’re a Jackson Wang fan, I think he barely appeared in the second half of the show.
My picks: 郑锐彬 Zheng Ruibin, 周彦辰 Zhou Yanchen, 蔡徐坤 Cai Xukun, 王子异 Wang Ziyi, 朱星杰 Zhu Xingjie, 周锐 Zhou Rui
Favorite performance: PPAP A组 PPAP group A This was a powerhouse group. And it was hilarious to watch the boys’ reaction when they heard the whole song and realized the style was not at all what they had initially expected! They totally pulled it off though.
Iconic moments: 蔡徐坤 Cai Xukun’s outfit (and ego) in the initial evaluation, B-A-L-A-N-C-E, when we realized 朱星杰 Zhu Xingjie can sing too, 林彦俊 Lin Yanjun's platinum hair, one of the songs was called Mack Daddy which causes me great distress to this day, 周锐 Zhou Rui aka 周美锐 Zhou Meirui, I’m still laughing over 朱星杰 Zhu Xingjie’s resemblance to 胡巴 Huba.
Verdict: Though this was not my first idol survival show, I think it would be a great first foray for anyone. It’s iconic for a reason. You should watch it (and I might rewatch it).
青春有你1 Youth with You 1
Watch on iQiyi (English subs, VIP needed) Watch via Qing Chun You Ni Subs (English fansubs)
Why you should watch it: This season is the forgotten child of the franchise, but it still had some great performances and a lot of talented contestants. The theme song is also probably my favorite out of all ten theme songs! It was love at first listen. Personally, I enjoyed this team of mentors more than the first season’s. I also feel that the vocal-based performances were stronger this season. For instance, there were great performances of 李荣浩 Li Ronghao songs.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: I feel that some of the magic of the first season was lost, and overall the contestants were not as memorable or charismatic in my opinion. There were also several contestants I found extremely irritating and some contestants who ranked much higher and last much longer on the show than I feel they should have based on their skill level...but I won’t name names.
My picks: 夏瀚宇 Xia Hanyu, 李振宁 Li Zhenning, 周士原 Zhou Shiyuan, 连淮伟 Li Huaiwei
Favorite performance: 隔壁泰山 A组 Neighboring Tarzan group A This is a very unusal song, but it’s so catchy and memorable. 夏瀚宇 Xia Hanyu really made this performance for me. And this song still gets stuck in my head months later!
Iconic moments: 冯俊杰 Feng Junjie and 夏瀚宇 Xia Hanyu trying to outdo each other, 胡春杨 Hu Chunyang looked angry 24/7 for no reason, they literally got 蔡依林! Jolin Tsai! as a mentor, 李汶翰 Li Wenhan was everyone’s older brother, their performance made me fall in love with the song 耳朵 Erduo, they kinda did a steampunk concept which I love.
Verdict: It’s not necessarily a must-watch, but I still enjoyed it. If you’ve fallen into the black hole of survival shows and want more, I think it’s worth your time.
青春有你2 Youth with You 2
Watch on iQiyi (English subs, VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (English subs) Watch on YouTube (no English subs, missing several parts/episodes)
Why you should watch it: As iQiyi’s first time with female contestants, this season was highly anticipated. iQiyi stepped it up with subtitles, got Lisa from BLACKPINK as a mentor (I saw people say they came for Lisa and stayed for the trainees), and made a lot of content available on YouTube. As a result, some of the performances from this season have millions of views. It’s well deserved—a lot of the contestants are overflowing with talent and charisma. And honestly, you should watch this for 蔡徐坤. He’s a great MC/mentor to the girls and was truly a highlight of the season for me.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: This is the only season that I watched week by week as it was airing. It was EXHAUSTING. iQiyi started pumping out two episodes a week, doubling the overall episode count. I was literally burnt out by the finale. So if you watch this, please take it slow. Also, I forgot how much they did that thing where they cut away from the performances to show other contestant/mentor reactions and then have to go rewind on the performance...it really drives me nuts. They overdid it for sure.
My picks: 刘雨昕 Liu Yuxin, 喻言 Yu Yan, 王承渲 Wang Chengxuan, 刘令姿 Liu Lingzi, 许馨文 Xu Xinwen
Favorite performance: 不奉陪 No Company This was a tough choice! I went with this performance because I actively sought it out for relistens. That’s so rare for 主题考核 theme evaluation songs for me. All the members got to shine yet they were a very cohesive team.
Iconic moments: Bad Guy was the ultimate dark horse, how no one knew the song 想见你想见你想见你 Miss You 3000, 王承渲 Wang Chengxuan defeated the evil quads, 乃万 Nineone basically replaced Jony J as rap mentor, seeing 刘雨昕 Liu Yuxin with a wig was terrifying, they let the girls wear shorts if they didn’t like skirts #feminism, I still think about 张钰 Zhang Yu and 王清 Wang Qing’s initial performance all the time.
Verdict: I don’t think I could rewatch this season due to its length, but if you can commit the time, I think you should watch it. I’m sad I’ll never get to see a second 青春有你 Youth with You female season.
青春有你3 Youth with You 3
Watch on iQiyi (English subs, no VIP needed) Watch on iQiyi (no English subs, no VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (no English subs, missing several parts/episodes)
Why you should watch it: This season was probably the one I felt most emotionally invested in. I feel like I got to know the boys and was in it together with them (parasocial relationships, I know). And the friendships between contestants were so touching. Like 青春有你2 Youth with You 2, this season was also extra long, but I watched this season after it aired, going at my own pace. There were so many charming contestants and memorable performances. The dancing especially shone, but we got some great vocal moments too. I think iQiyi did a really good job picking songs this season.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: Sadly, the finale never aired. Due to the infamous milk-wasting scandal, the show was cancelled (but a winning group still formed and debuted). Even though I knew this before watching the show, it was still quite sad to never see a conclusion. Additionally, I believe this show started with more like 120 contestants, and I felt that increased number. Lastly, there was some painful singing and lots of very uninspired rapping. I feel like the gap in skill between the contestants was larger, and some of the teams felt very unbalanced as a result.
My picks: 姜京佐 Jiang Jingzuo, 杨昊铭 Yang Haoming, 十七 Shiqi, 徐子未 Xu Ziwei, 张思源 Zhang Siyuan, 连淮伟 Lian Huaiwei
Favorite performance: 燕尾蝶 Wings of Love This performance was everything I could ever dream of. 徐子未 won the world over instantly. He has the voice of an angel. Love the song, love the concept, love everything about it.
Iconic moments: 罗一舟 Luo Yizhou and 余景天 Tony Yu Jingtians’s friendly rivalry, 徐子未 Xu Ziwei’s back-to-back victories, Yuta’s adorable accent, 王南钧 Wang Nanjun would not shut up about 竹 Bamboo, touch 梁森 Liang Sen’s head for good luck, 刘隽 Liu Jun dances like he’s possessed (in a good way), that 雨爱 Rainie Love stage was a trainwreck tbh.
Verdict: Despite the scandals and lack of a finale, it was worth the watch for me. I feel so fond thinking of this season. Truthfully, season three has surpassed season two for me.
>> 创造101 Produce 101/创造营 Chuang (Tencent)
I read somewhere that Tencent officially licensed the Produce 101 name from Mnet, making this franchise more “official.” For season two, they ended up changing the name to 创造营 Produce Camp. The Chinese name remained the same for seasons three and four, but the in English they started promoting the show under the name Chuang. I think they wanted to beat iQiyi in the contest to see who can have the most titles for the same show.
创造101 Produce 101 China
Watch on Tencent Video (English subs, no VIP needed) Watch on 腾讯视频 (no English subs, VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (no English subs) Watch on YouTube (no English subs, episode 7 here, episode 10 here) Watch via Produce 101 China Subs (English fansubs)
Why you should watch it: This is the only season I’ve seen twice, so that says something I guess! This season holds a special place in my heart as my first survival show, so I rewatched it earlier this year with some friends who hadn’t seen it previously. One thing that stood out to me about this season was that it felt like there were several dark horses who started to shine closer to the middle/end of the show. I liked this because it’s boring when the debut lineup is completely predictable! And if you’re not already a 孟美岐 Meng Meiqi fan, you will leave as a 孟美岐 Meng Meiqi fan, guaranteed.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: Not gonna lie, I was not a huge fan of this mentor team. I am fine with these people individually, but together it was not an ideal combo in my opinion. They collectively made some very odd decisions that I strongly disagree with. After my rewatch, I’m just kinda done with 黄子韬 Huang Zitao. I also realized there were a lot more instances of...rough singing than I remembered, so be warned.
My picks: 孟美岐 Meng Meiqi, Yamy, 刘人语 Liu Renyu, 许靖韵 Angela Xu Jingyun, 吴映香 Lucia Wu Yingxiang, 李紫婷 Mimi Li Ziting
Favorite performance: 别人家的小孩 Other People’s Kids This is one of the most iconic performances (and one of my favorites) ever from all of these shows! It’s so unique and really has everything you could want. It was truly a perfect collab performance.
Iconic moments: When they had to tap 杨超越 Yang Chaoyue so she wouldn’t miss the beat, 王一博 Wang Yibo’s blue hair was gorgeous, Triple A group reunion, Look What You Made Me Do with creepy marionettes was perfect, when 陈嘉桦 Ella went barefoot on stage, 黄子韬 Huang Zitao literally screamed at them all, I’ll never forget the iconic 乐华 Yuehua performance.
Verdict: Even the second time, this was a season filled with surprises. It’s not perfect, but I think it will manage to charm you anyway. There are some real hidden gems here.
创造营2019 Produce Camp 2019
Watch on Tencent Video (English subs, VIP needed) Watch on 腾讯视频 (no English subs, VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (no English subs)
Why you should watch it: This was the first ever male season I watched, and I remember being apprehensive. I ended up having a lot of fun! This season really tugged at my heartstrings with the touching friendships between the boys and the intense 导师推荐生 mentor recommendees segments. I felt like I went through the wringer with them as they were forced to repack all their belongings, endure the brutal F班 demotions, hike across the beach, and more. There were countless hilarious moments too. If I were to rewatch, it would be for 周震南 Zhou Zhennan AKA 南南 Nannan. He just dominates the stage (despite his short stature)!
Why you shouldn’t watch it: I’ll admit, this season probably has the greatest number of contestants that annoy me. Sometimes it’s for no good reason...I just look at them and go ugh. The first round especially has some pretty painful singing, so be warned of that as well. Also, my rewatch made me realize I remembered very few performances from this season, which probably isn’t a good sign. Also, a lot of the performances were very short, sub-three minutes, which personally bothers me.
My picks: 周震南 Zhou Zhennan, 高嘉朗 Gao Jialang, 姚琛 Yao Chen, 陆思恒 Lu Siheng, 李鑫一 Li Xinyi, 贺俊雄 He Junxiong
Favorite performance: 开门见山 Kaimenjianshan I’ll admit that this performance was not as good as I remembered it being (probably because now I’ve heard the original by A-Mei many times), but I picked it anyway to acknowledge the amazing 高嘉朗 Gao Jialang.
Iconic moments: 张颜齐 Zhang Yanqi giving away jars of 老干妈 Lao Gan Ma, we never saw 王晨艺 Wang Chenyi again, 姚琛来了~ (Yao Chen is coming), when 周震南 Zhou Zhennan had his hoodie on but his ears were sticking out omg, try saying 李昀锐 Li Yunrui's name ten times fast, they had 30+ year old men here, this was the OG 乘风破浪 chengfengpolang.
Verdict: Among so many seasons, I don’t think this season stands out that much, but I still remember it fondly. If you want a good laugh and some fun, check it out.
创造营2020 Chuang 2020
Watch on Tencent Video (English subs, VIP needed) Watch on 腾讯视频 (no English subs, VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (English subs, missing episode 3) Watch on YouTube (English subs, missing episode 3) Watch on Viki (English subs, no Viki Pass needed)
Why you should watch it: They went all out on the sets, the location, the accommodations, everything. The performance setup was that the seats were in the middle and various stages were located around the perimeter. The seats would rotate to face the stages!! Some of the stages were stunning. I also want to mention that there were some great vocalists this season and I feel like they got to shine, which always makes me happy. The best round by far was the second round (专业方向). We got some beautiful vocal performances and intense dance performances.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: This season felt messy to me. I think they tried to mix things up, but not everything landed. The beautiful sets almost got distracting…they were more interesting than some of the performances. Several very talented and promising contestants never even made it past the first round. And since the final group only had seven people, the finale was just a frustrating experience. I never want to hear that 小摩托 xiao motuo song or 夏天的风 Summer Wind again. I don’t feel this season lived up to 创造101 Produce 101 China (unless you wanted MORE comments about weight/thinness).
My picks: 王柯 Wang Ke, 华承妍 Hua Chengyan, 刘些宁 Liu Xiening, 苏芮琪 Su Ruiqi, 朱主爱, Joyce Zhu Zhu’ai, 王一桥 Wang Yiqiao
Favorite performance: Manta There were a lot of performances I liked, but I really struggled to pick a favorite. I ultimately went with this because it’s one of the most memorable dance performances I’ve seen on these shows.
Iconic moments: That thin waist contest was simply the worst, they were in a literal castle, we all went crazy for the band and 王柯 Wang Ke, 朱主爱 Joyce Zhu Zhu’ai won the collab stage, wtf stop filming 姜贞羽 Jiang Zhenyu, I want to ride that cute train up the mountain, 毛不易 Mao Buyi did not want to talk, pretend that 吴亦凡 Wu Yifan wasn’t there.
Verdict: This season was competing against 青春有你2 Youth with You 2, and I chose to prioritize 青春有你2 Youth with You 2. I would make the same choice now. If you decide to watch, just be warned it may be a frustrating experience.
创造营2021 Chuang 2021
Watch on Tencent Video (English subs, VIP needed) Watch on 腾讯视频 (no English subs, VIP needed)
Why you should watch it: I wasn’t sure I was going to watch this season because of its international theme. Having foreigners is nothing new, but such a large number was certainly going to alter the show’s dynamic. Well, I watched it anyway. Overall, I’m glad I did. There were some talented and lovable contestants that made this season all worth it. The mentor squad (mostly 宁静 Ning Jing, 邓超 Deng Chao, and 周深 Zhou Shen) were so entertaining. Lastly, compared to the 2019 season, there were more popular vocalists this season, which I 100% support. I’ll be honest, I didn’t remember a lot of the performances from this season, but I ended up pleasantly surprised by how many great ones there were!
Why you shouldn’t watch it: It felt like there was so much focus on Nine and Patrick, Santa and Riki, the Intersection boys, and eventually Lelush as well. The other foreign contestants honestly had very little impact. This didn’t ruin the show or anything, but sometimes I got a little sick of the Santa and Mika show, you know? Also, none of my favorites made it into the winning group unfortunately. While I acknowledge the talent of the winning members, for whatever reason I wasn’t really that invested in most of them.
My picks: 俞更寅 Yu Gengying, 井胧 Jing Long, 林墨 Lin Mo, 奥斯卡 Oscar, 张星特 Zhang Xingte
Favorite performance: Lover Boy 88 This performance was simply infectious! I even made my friends watch to it. 林墨 Lin Mo is so charming. And 张腾 Zhang Teng and 张星特 Zhang Xingte’s vocals were perfect. Just wish it had been longer!
Iconic moments: Mika and 曾涵江 Zeng Hanjiang = my last two brain cells trying to communicate, I still can’t believe Lelush went viral worldwide, 刘宇 Liu Yu broke the Produce curse, Nine and Patrick only learned Chinese for how long???, Caelan kinda does look like Leonardo DiCaprio, Oscar AKA 熊熊 Xiongxiong, the 网红 wanghong group was so talented actually.
Verdict: I think this season got more international attention than 青春有你3 Youth with You 3, and while I prefer 青春有你3 Youth with You 3, this season is worth a watch for its uniqueness and improvements over the previous year.
>> 以团之名 All For One/少年之名 We Are Young (Youku)
I watched both seasons of Youku’s shorter-lived franchise in 2022 only after (and only because) I had finished the other two franchises. I think Youku had a smaller budget and thus tried to stand out by shaking up the traditional survival show formula. I think they made some poor choices and some good choices. I don’t know the story behind the name change between seasons, but the seasons are so different from each other that it makes sense.
以团之名 All For One
Watch on Youku (no English subs, VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (no English subs)
Why you should watch it: I’m going to say a lot of negative stuff below, but I wanted to add at least a few positive words. During the finale, the remaining contestants sang S.H.E’s 你曾是少年 Wings Of My Words, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so emotional over a performance ever. 任家萱 Selina was a delight throughout. I also really grew to appreciate 奶茶 Naicha and what a great and thoughtful leader he was.
Why you shouldn’t watch it: As I mentioned, this show had some unique features that made it stand out. The contestants formed ten groups of eight, and the composition of the groups remained unchanged throughout. Entire groups got eliminated together. This created a dynamic where some really talented contestants went home too soon due to their group. It also meant that some groups were popular really just due to having one popular member. In the end, one group won...but I guess they realized this was a bad idea, so they formed a second winning group of the most popular contestants from the non-winning groups. I didn’t like this format and felt is really negatively impacted my viewing. Personally, seeing new team lineups form is one of my favorite parts of survival shows. And because the leaders were constant, they had there was too much focus on them. Also, the mentors were so harsh all the time. Maybe it was deserved, but it really bummed me out to watch them constantly talk about how disappointed they were.
My picks: 奶茶 Naicha, 田书臣 Tian Shuchen, 龙泓昊 Long Honghao, 赖煜哲 AJ Lai Yuzhe, 热亚提 Reyati, 赵品霖 Zhao Pinlin
Favorite performance: 饕餮 Taotie This was not one of the performances that stood out in my memory, but it stood out to me when I did my rewatch. I feel like they really nailed every element, and I don’t think the other teams could have pulled off this song.
Iconic moments: 何展成 Jonathan Ha gave up on speaking Chinese and 袁娅维 Tia Ray had to translate for him, the 王霏霏 Wang Feifei and 孟佳 Meng Jia reunion, 龙泓昊 Long Honghao’s beautiful dance to a Shawn Mendes song, I’m not sure why 奶茶 Naicha chose milk tea as stage name, AJ vs. the hidden snacks, they made 周艺轩 Zhou Yixuan perform a UNIQ song.
Verdict: Maybe you can skip this one. I definitely didn’t devote my full attention while I was watching it. And it felt like the show and the mentors were being mean to the boys all the time.
少年之名 We Are Young
Watch on Youku (no English subs, VIP needed) Watch on YouTube (no English subs) Watch via We Are Young Subs (English fansubs)
Why you should watch it: They improved on basically all the issues I had with the first season, and I was pleasantly surprised. Also, this is basically a 青春有你1 Youth with You 1 mini reunion with a few 偶像练习生 Idol Producer alums plus some future 青春有你3 You with You 3 contestants. It was so wonderful to see how the contestants I already knew had grown, and I loved seeing them get new opportunities to shine. There was surprisingly a lot of good raps/rappers on this show! Also, there were some truly incredible performances this season that aren’t like anything I’ve seen on other idol survival shows. And I enjoyed almost every performance—there were only a few that I disliked or thought were, um, not good. The mentors did not always agree...but I don’t care!
Why you shouldn’t watch it: Because they have to be different, when doing the initial evaluations, only about 50 contestants advanced to the next round. This was nice because it meant fewer names/faces, but wow, it felt so mean. Sometimes I wished they had stuck to a more traditional format. Besides that, I don’t have much else negative to say!
My picks: 郭震 Guo Zhen, 寇聪 Kuo Cong, 胡文煊 Hu Wenxuan, 左林杰 Zuo Linjie, 李希侃 Li Xikan, 崔少鹏 Cui Shaopeng, 杨超文 Yang Chaowen
Favorite performance: Don’t Start Now I don’t think I’ve ever seen this exact concept on one of these shows before. This performance was instantly a standout for me, especially because it had some of my favorite contestants!
Iconic moments: They literally had a corgi, 林 (Lin) MUA, everyone shipping 薛恩 Xue En and 程潇 Cheng Xiao, 胡文煊 Hu Wenxuan in a CROP TOP, 胡彦斌 Hu Yanbin told 寇聪 Kou Cong to wear less to show off his body what, 崔少鹏 Cui Shaopeng’s entrance through the pink smoke, 左林杰 Zuo Linjie really bungee jumped with his eyes closed, how 郭震 Guo Zhen, 左叶 Zuo Ye, and 胡文煊 Hu Wenxuan were in the same group four times without anyone noticing.
Verdict: This season ended up being better than it had any right to be! I think it’s worth checking out, especially if you are missing the boys from the 偶像练习生 Idol Producer/青春有你 Youth with You series.
>> Conclusion
If you actually read this entire post, I’m thoroughly impressed. If you, like me, have spent way too much time watching these shows, feel free to send me a message because I need someone to commiserate with.
I honestly have this weird feeling that a chapter of my life is over. I have so many treasured memories from watching these shows—moments of laughter, tears, shock, pride, and more. They’ve provided a way to ground my language studies and engage with Chinese pop culture. They made me feel less alone during earlier COVID times.
Well, I’m off to find something to fill the survival show-size hole in my heart...maybe I’ll just rewatch 偶像练习生 Idol Producer.

Dungeon Meshi Season 1, Episode 3 Review
I think it was fantastic, and like the other episodes my complaints are all so minor, they're basically nitpicks. Spoilers below!
The Japanese subtitles are still kinda bad, when you watch the English dub afterwards it somehow manages to better convey the same information without leaving anything out. Japanese performances are fantastic but yeah the subtitles really suck a lot of the life out of them. There's some gems in the dub performance, like Chilchuck saying "Sword, please" to Laios instead of "can I borrow your sword" or something more elaborate.
Everything that was good about the original manga chapters is in this episode, and this was one of the early chapters that hooked me and my spouse into Dungeon Meshi - seeing how Laios figured out the living armor and how he defeated it was something really cool and thoughtful that stood out from other media to us. It was clever and novel and went into monsters and speculative biology in a way that we both adored. This episode is also the one that really foreshadows the rest of the series and it's themes. If something is alive, it desires something, and if you can figure out what it desires you can find a way to defeat it. If something is alive, you can kill it, and if you can kill it you can eat it.
All of the fight scenes in this episode are incredible, and there's tons of fun camera shots and interesting choices being made. Love the bit where Marcille catches a helmet in the loop of her staff. Also loved the bit where she caught Laios' head in the loop of her staff and shook him around angrily. They found ways to include information from the extra monster tidbits into the main narrative, which is fantastic! I'm hoping they'll be able to do this for the rest of the anime as well, because there's a LOT of vital information and funny jokes in the tidbits that enhance the story.
So nice to finally have our first Senshi panty shot and know that they'll at least give us some of those.
Though the animation is spectacular, there is a noticeable style shift between the first two episodes and 3. They obviously have some very talented animators working on this episode (the suits of armor are all rock solid, detailed, and move in fantastic ways) but they are NOT really good at drawing the human characters on-model and it shows. It's not awful but it is noticeable. I'm glad they at least were able to keep it consistent, the characters look that way through the whole episode and don't switch back and forth between individual scenes. That would have been a lot more distracting. Pet peeve, I hated the gag with the egg sack flying through cosmic space to show Laios had figured out the secret of the armor. I didn't think it was that funny, and I felt it interrupted the flow of the already very exciting and tense fight scene. Just the memory sequence being drawn in such a crazy loose style was enough for me! And the style of it flying through the cosmos and everything just felt very out of place and modern. Oh, and Laios says "oh my god" at one point in the dub, which also annoys me, but I think is better than "jeez" since a pagan could theoretically say "oh my god."
But overall a fantastic episode and it gives me a lot of hope for the rest of the series. I was worried that they were going to compress the story too much and try to fit 4 chapters into this episode, because of how they put 3 chapters into episode 2, but they gave this 2-chapter story room to breathe, which it very much needed. Can't wait for next week! I think we'll get the golem story as well as the orcs.

Please tell us about learning Japanese!
Sorry to get to this really late I've been absolutely swamped with work lately so I haven't been able to answer this but yeah let's talk about something actually enjoyable!
I started learning at 18 when I was having a bit of a crisis of confidence after starting music school, and personally I literally just used one of those online kana quiz sites to learn kana in about a week (I did Not know best practices lol) as I mentioned before I used a memrise course before it started sucking to learn the meanings of all of the Joyo Kanji in about a year, and I used Tae Kim's grammar guide for grammar, but mostly what I did was watch a lot, lot, LOT of anime. For a while I entertained pretensions of doing some anitubing so I kept abreast of basically every show of interest every season for a long time, and somewhere along the line I really mastered the trick of hearing the language itself as it's spoken and then checking the meaning with the subs in a running fashion.
For some ungodly reason my very first endeavor into reading JP was doing a side-by-side of the English and Japanese translations of Tower of God. Why do a side by side of two translations of a manhwa originally in a third language? I have no earthly idea, but it somehow lead to my reading ability developing pretty quickly and this is actually a major recommendation of mine: take a story you really love in your target language, especially if it uses a lot of naturalistic, conversational language, and re-read it side-by-side with your native tongue. It really helps you get a natural feel for the spoken vernacular that you'll never get from didactic materials.
After that, I mean, it really was just a lot of unglamorous practicing and reading. The first thing I ever watched entirely in JP without subtitles was Liz and the Blue Bird, the first novel I ever read entirely in JP was the first volume of Otherside picnic; I passed the jlpt n2 in the summer of 2019 and the N1 at the beginning of 2020. Oh also becoming a vtuber sicko will help you a ton

chiaki kuriyama appreciation post
japanese actor, got popular for her work in the 2000s as a teen actor
Tumblr media
battle royale (2000), she was 16 at the time and did some of the best acting in the entire movie imo, and just like. look at the still. if i was there i'd just accept death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kill bill (2003), the film she was nominated for TWO awards for even tho she was a side character and WON one of them (best fight). she was amazing and was my favourite character between both movies. she was the best possible casting for the role (gogo yubari) and i was fucking devastated when she died (sry for spoilers, it's a great movie u should go watch it, but it was a plot death and was obvious from her introduction)
now, like, sry to be a fake fan but those are the only movies with her i've watched so far (this will change soon) but here are a few other notable ones:
Tumblr media
shikoku (1999) - haven't been able to find a copy of this online (not even tgx), but she plays another... less sane character, the horror of this horror movie. if anyone can find it online somewhere please reach out bc it seems like an interesting movie
Tumblr media
ju-on: the curse (2000) - this one is available online! unfortunately, it's v low quality and is likely a rip of a rip of a rip, but subtitles are pretty decent. haven't watched the whole thing but kuriyama was brilliant in this too! despite the fact that it's a rlly cheap and shitty horror movie, she had excellent acting and was obviously into the role
she has since played several other roles in several movies, shows, and has voice acted/dubbed for some projects. she's also going to be in the upcoming season of a semi-popular japanese tv show called Ōoku, coming out in 2024.
ALSO sidepoint, i forgot to mention this earlier, but she is a badass and could beat most people on here in a fight
and, last but certainly, absolutely, definitely not least, she has released several songs and even the 2011 album circus which is really fucking good and you need to listen to it right fucking now, please and thank you (if you're wondering, it's pop/rock)
she's been doing a lot recently, and became independent in 2020. below is a recent picture of her (2022) and just...
Tumblr media
her twitter is here her website is here
and that's it! thx for reading my entire little essay abt why i like this random japanese actor who was in 2 movies which i like
and to anybody who got mad bc i called her an actor and not an actress, sry but fuck u and fuck needlessly gendered words, gender is a bitch and we should make it an opt-in

full-blown Hatano obsession achieved
Tumblr media
I know, I have a problem. I've never been freaked out enough about a show before to watch an entire (short) season without subtitles. I'm over here trying to look up words. It's ridiculous. But I did watch the entirety of Zettai BL 2024 despite the lack of subtitles and I took some Sekoguchi Ryo screenshots. Of course I did, how could I not?
A couple of caveats in case these might create certain expectations:
As you'll know if you saw the first two seasons, Mob sometimes imagines some pretty vivid scenarios as he strategizes about how to avoid traps.
[Spoiler warning] Mob and Hatano end up costarring in a BL drama. If you pay attention, it should be pretty obvious from these images when they're working/in character versus being themselves.

Wish me luck as I try to stop obsessing, or at least decrease this obsession to manageable levels. While we're wishing, please send all of your strongest vibes into the universe to ask for some kind of international streaming and/or fansubs on this thing. That would definitely help me to calm the fuck down.

I've only ever watched Robert Carlyle in ouat! What are your go to recs of other things he's been in?
Hope you're having a good day 💖💖💖
Oh man okay. I'm just gonna try to list everything I've seen (and please keep in mind that I haven't seen many of these things in forever):
-Hamish MacBeth: actually an amazing show, 100/10, so fucking good. I recommend watching at least the first ep or two with subtitles because the brogues are THICC xD -Formula 51/The 51st State: Second on the list bc I literally just finished rewatching it, it's actually a really great dark comedy action flick. Be warned, there are two scenes of excessive blood but it's otherwise not too violent. -California Solo: I remember this being very good and very sad. But he loves to play a SadBoi, so. -The World is Not Enough: In general, I don't love Bond movies, but this is a pretty fun romp. The plot is somewhat convoluted, but I love Renard???? He's just. Yes. SadBoi anarchist. -Dead Fish: Can I say this is a good movie? No I cannot. But it's so fucking fun. It's so bad. But Bobby is SO good in it. Like, every individual thing in this movie is good, but somehow they put it together and created a disaster??? It does some things that I find super narratively interesting and with some tweaking, it probably could have been an amazing movie. Maybe if Tarantino made it. But like. Danny Devine???? My love. My boy. Not a SadBoi, surprisingly. If you watch the trailer, you'll get an idea of how whatthefuck this movie is. I have seen it many times and, watching the trailer, I was still somehow like what is the plot of this movie.
-The Full Monty: Just a really good movie. Highly recommend. That is next on my rewatch list.
-Stargate Universe: IIRC, I watched about half of one season of this and didn't really love it. He was phenomenal in it, ofc, but otherwise...meh. I would rewatch it but I now watch all the other Stargates and I know this will only disappoint me x] He is a SadBoi scientist, tho.
-The Tournament: Nothing groundbreaking but, from what I remember, a solid movie! Bloody and violent. SadBoi priest. tw: a pet dies, I believe.
-Plunkett and Macleane: I remember this movie being SO fun and now I can't find it anywhere. Very unhappy about that.
-Ravenous: I wanted to add this because I know a lot of people really love it and it seems right up my alley re: dark comedy, but I am too Scared to watch it, so do with that information what you will. It is a horror comedy, I believe.
I have also watched Priest but I found that movie deeply upsetting because it contains quite a bit of CSA and I don't recommend it. Human Trafficking is also deeply upsetting, obviously, and I don't really remember it being great but I am also pretty sure I only made it through half. Annnd I haven't seen Trainspotting but it was award-winning so if that's your cup of tea, I feel confident recommending it (it is absolutely not my cup of tea xD).
So uh. There you go! The longest list ever xD

If you're tired of Great British Bakeoff fuckery like Mexican Week but it left a friendly-reality-competition-sized hole in your heart, you can also watch the same format but with flowers 💐 (Full Bloom, The Big Flower Fight), jewelry 💍 (All That Glitters), pottery🍯 (Great Pottery Throw Down), glassblowing 🍾 (Blown Away) and woodworking 🪵 (Good With Wood aka Handmade, which even has Mel Giedroyc on it).
There are also like a dozen other bakeoffs in other countries. Canada and Australia are my faves (I haven't watched the non-English language ones yet bc I can't read subtitles during work).
[Don't watch the 1st season of Australia with Kerry Vincent it is a desecration of the Bake Off name worse than anything Paul Hollywood has ever done. Straya completely course corrects after that though. Do watch the first two seasons of Canada with Dan Levy hosting and channeling all his David Rose energy into it.]
If I'm forgetting any please let me know, I am a bottomless pit of content.

Ch.01 < Series Masterlist > Ch.02
Tumblr media
As usual whenever the award season started you barely had any time to breathe, you would wake up at 4am and get home at midnight and that’s if you were lucky and had some help from the otherwise useless people you found yourself calling colleagues.
You had just sat down at your desk for the first time on your 8 hour shift when your attention was already being called away.
“I need the speeches subtitled within the next 30 minuets otherwise you’ll have to stay late today.” You turn towards your manager who was staring at you blankly, her demands confusing you.
“I sent them in last night, Min confirmed she rece..” Before you could even finish your sentence your manager had begun walking away, her attention refocused on something far less important.
You sighed as you leaned back in your chair, your mind wandering for a few precious moments. You hadn’t always wanted to work in this industry but when the opportunity presented it to yourself two years ago you was elated. It was your dream then, to be around high class people, with an exciting job, the opportunity to use your language degree for something other than journalism.
However. you soon realised it wasn’t all that it was made out to be.
You had lived in America for some years before, it was where you finished getting your English degree. Your mother had been ecstatic, her only daughter having such a high degree and studying abroad. Although, coming home, back to South Korea, it felt different.
You realised you wasn’t the same person you was before but out of fear of facing disappointment you continued translating, you still remember the way your parents faces lit up when you told them about being hired by a small tourist firm, you stayed there for six months but the company eventually went bankrupt.
You hated being jobless, the thought of having no income scared you, your parents assured you they would be able to help with your costs, they wasn’t rich but they was comfortable enough to make sure you didn’t starve but even so you denied and thankfully found another job in journalism.
You loved it, you mostly spent your days writing about the greatest things in South Korea, you had grown to love writing and eventually you got promoted, reporting on random K-pop groups, you would have been happy to stay at the publishing company but the pay wasn’t great and slowly your bills grew higher and higher, you know you’d had to find another job and that’s how you ended up here.
The great world of translating awards and TV shows.
A light thud hit the back of your chair, forcing your eyes awake. “Are you actually sleeping right now?”
You groaned at the sight of your best friend. “I’m resting okay Na-rae, Ji-sung has been on my back all day.”
“When isn’t she.” You watch as she sat beside you, spinning around in the desk chair as she spilled her daily gossip, you tried your best to focus but every day there was a new drama and slowly you became uninterested.
“So I heard there’s been a change to the line up.” She wiggles her eyebrows.
You laugh at the way her face moved. “Great so that means I’ll have to change the subtitles again.”
She rolls her eyes, offering you gum which you decline. “Are you not even interested in who it is?”
“Not really.” You admit, for you the glamour had worn off but you could see her excitement so you did what any good friend would do. “Tell me before you explode, you look like a tomato.”
“It’s BTS.” She screams in a hushed voice.
It takes you a second to digest the newest addition, you would be lying to say you wasn’t shocked, everyone know who they are, they are not just popular in South Korea the same way others are, they are global.
“Are you sure?” You ask a little cautious of the news.
She nods excitedly, “We had a call today from their manager confirming they would be attending, they sent in their speeches for you to translate them.”
She hands you a wad of paper, it’s much thinner than you’d think considering it was 7 people, and for 7 awards. “Wow, well I hope this doesn’t stop people working, you know how it gets anytime someone even remotely popular comes.”
“Do you remember when Ji-sung wanted to give Jin her number when she helped record that one interview?” You both giggled at the thought of your manager hounding a man who wasn’t interested.
You looked around before continuing to whisper. “You know she still talks about that right.”
Na-rae snorts “She says it was her chance at love.”
“More like Sugar Daddy” You comment, your laughter dying down as you listen to the daily announcements.
You’re surprised when you hear your name being called to the front desk. You said a quick goodbye to Rae before rushing down the stairs, not wanting to keep whoever it was waiting.
You look around the small waiting room but don’t see anyone, you walk back to the main desk, leaning over to get the receptionists attention. “Jae-ssi I was called down do you know anything about it?”
“In the first room, take this.” He hands you a folder and you give him a small bow before walking towards the room. None of your questions being answered.
You walk in and close the door behind you, turning to the few people waiting in the room. You pause momentarily as you recognise the faces in front of you but you remember your professionalism before quickly introducing yourself.
“Please sit. We’ve only come to discuss the performance, we was told you could be of help.” You nodded, he looked so much different in person.
“Im Kim Namjoon, this is Jung Hoseok and that’s our manager” He introduces himself and the others in the room although it wasn’t necessary, you bow to them all quickly before taking a seat.
“I’m not sure why I was asked to take this meeting, in all honesty I’m sure the technical team would be best.” You explain quickly flicking through the folder you had been handed.
You smile at both Namjoon and Hoseok, although the excitement of the job has lessened the fact that Grammy nominated artists were in the same room as you was still amazing.
“They said that you do the subtitles and we wanted to check and make sure our speech was received well.” Hoseok explained, his voice was smooth, much calmer than you had heard before, although that wasn’t uncommon with idols.
“Ah yes, I deal with translations here, I haven’t actually had a chance to review your speeches yet I only received them about 20 minuets ago.” You felt a little embarrassed, maybe they had expected you to be finished already.
They both nodded and their manager stepped up to explain. “The members would like to discuss the speeches with you directly, we wouldn’t want anything to be twisted or subtitled out of context.”
You didn’t need to be an idol to know that it was common for translators to edit the words of the artists. Usually to fit their narrative.
“I understand completely. I was nearly finished for the day but I’d be happy to talk with you about each acceptance, let me just step out and get my laptop.” You waited for their agreement before leaving the room, the last thing you wanted to do was appear as rude.
You didn’t waste any time in rushing back to your desk, grabbing your laptop and notepad before returning to the meeting room.
You quickly took your seat and set your laptop up, silently hoping someone would break the silence.
“Did you fly there.” Your hands paused as you looked up, Hoseok was smiling at you and you laughed at his attempt to make a joke.
You shook your head. “I wasn’t that fast.” You waved your hands and grabbed your pen ready to take notes.
“So what do we do?” Namjoon asked, his head turning towards his manager.
You would have thought they would have done this hundreds of times by now. “Well you tell me what you want to say, I write it down and ask for any clarification or explanations if I need any and then I’ll go off and translate it.” You explain before their manager can get a word out.
“Exactly. I’m Sejin.” You smile at their manager who name had a name.
You started taking notes of everything Namjoon and Hoseok said, you could tell they was speaking slowly and you wasn’t sure if it was to give you a chance to write or to make sure you didn’t misconstrue anything.
Either way you was grateful, usually idols would talk faster than you could even comprehend what they was saying. You only realised an hour had passed when your laptop alarm went off, informing you the staff meeting was about to start, thankfully you knew Ji-sung would kill you if you left members of bts to attend.
“Do you have to go?” Hoseok asked, his eyes looking towards the clock.
You shook your head following his gaze. “No, if anything I’m happy to be in here.”
“Yeah that’s normal.” Namjoon sighed earning a sharp look from their manager. You was taken back by his tone, you had silently began questioning if you had done something wrong but it was always best to just ignore things like that.
“So is there anything else you’d like to add to any of the speeches? Any captions you’d like?” You ask, your eyes scanning your notepad.
Your attention was drawn back to the men in front of you when you heard Namjoon cleaning his through “I’m sorry.” He apologised.
You shook your head giving him a soft smile. “It’s okay, I can imagine people are usually thrilled to be in a room with you.”
“Usually it’s that and then some.” He says in English, you can’t help but laugh at the sudden change in language.
“Well I promise that I’m more excited about going home than I am about being in this room.” You respond back to him in English.
“You know not all of us are fluent.” Hoseok sighs hitting Namjoons arm.
“I’m sorry Hoseok-ssi.” You apologise a little afraid you had upset the man.
Namjoon exaggeratedly rolled his eyes. “Don’t worry about him.”
You nodded at both of them before standing. “If that’s all then I guess I’ll be going. I wouldn’t want to hold up your day unnecessarily.”
“Well we are also here to do a soundcheck so I wouldn’t worry too much.” Hoseok explains and suddenly your worry dies down a little.
Namjoon holds the door open for you and you bow to him. “Thank you for giving this so much attention.”
You wave your hands at him. “It’s no problem, I’m happy to give you some peace of mind. If there’s anything else you need please let me know”
You watched as he looked around, his face confused. “You could show us to the stage, this is a new building and we are lost, the woman from before disappeared when she showed us the room.”
Of course, you was also now apart of a welcoming committee “It’s this way.” You pointed ahead of you and began walking, the idols close behind.
“So have you worked here long, it must be fun.” Hoseok asks, you could tell he was just trying to make small talk but you indulged him.
“It’s okay, good days and bad days just like everything.” You explain honestly.
He Hums at your response before asking his next question. “Don’t you get excited being around the idols all day?”
You didn’t have to think too long before responding. “At first it was fun but just like when you got a new toy as a child the excitement wears off, having to translate so many times because speeches get changed often becomes tiring. What about you, is the idol life really that great?”
You open the door and lead them down the entrance to the stage as Hoseok replies. “Good days and bad days just like everything.”
You raise your eyebrows at the way he used your earlier words but you give out and laugh at the way he was grinning.
“Well here you are.” You turn to Namjoon, Hoseok and Sejin as you opened the last door to the stage for them.
It was unusual for idols to come in and check their speeches or to practice on stage beforehand, you could see they cared for their jobs and that was refreshing to you.
“Thank you for all of your help.” Hoseok smiles at you, Namjoon and Sejin walking off, you guessed to find the other members, if they was recording they all had to be there.
“Its my Job.” You explain, not wanting him to feel like you took extra time to be with them.
He presses his lips together, a silence grows between you for a few moments before he responds. “Can I ask you something else?”
You give him a small smile. “Sure.”
“Was English hard for you to learn? I’ve been trying to learn for Army but it’s not going well, the teachers our management team get for us are always far too advanced.” He rubs his neck before adjusting his sweatshirt.
No one had ever asked you about your degree so his question was something you considered for a moment. “I think it’s more about the reason you want to learn, at the time my reason was strong, it was my passion and i wanted to use it for something good, I pushed myself to study every day. Exposure helps too. I’m sure your fans love you wether or not you know English.” You give him some reassurance, no one should ever feel less for not knowing a language.
“Thank you. I should go.” He looked behind him momentarily before tuning back to you, you could see more figures moving around but you didn’t pry.
“Of course, I’m sorry if I distracted you.” You smiled, walking towards the exit door.
“You didn’t, it was nice talking to you, have a good day.” He nods towards you before turning around, you rush out of the door not wanting to intrude any longer.
It isn’t until you sit back at your desk that your brain processes the last two hours, everything feeling more real.
You wanted to focus on your work but Na-Rae had other ideas. “Where was you?”
“Okay so you won’t believe this.” You pull her down into the seat beside you.
“What?” She tuts, turning the chair to face you.
“I just met Namjoon and Hoseok.”

My Personal Weatherman EP. 8- No subs watch
It's the last one!!!! (sobbing) But I shall carry on and provide you with the best (unlikely) post you've ever seen on MPW. Again, if you've never seen this before this is me watching a sneaky link to the new ep of MPW, but my friend speaks Japanese and I don"t so there's no subtitles so I must go off of poorly remember Japanese based on badly subbed 90's anime.
Tumblr media
-I mean, I knew we were starting where we left off but....ooooh- and the straight to the opening credits?!? Bold
-I swear this is the most we've ever heard Mizuki talk at once and also the strength of tone!!! Oh it's making my heart beat fast.
-Say it out loud Yoh!!! Whatever it is say it fucking out LOUD!!!
-Not gomen!!!! I know that word!!!(sobbing)
-This camera choice of only seeing Mizuki's back is very affecting and also really making this difficult.
-Such soft kisses!!!! (I am using so many exclamation points, sorry)
-Shy Yoh...so cute. But also thank you Mizuki for not letting him hide.
-I'm dying!!! Poor Yoh. The rain made him sick and now no D for him....so sad.
-I don't know what his argument was but Mizuki sure folded fast on that. haha
-Is he telling him about the manga??????
-Poor Man-san didn't get her Meterologist Mizuki fix.
-Aww...we love caregiver Mizuki, he's just so gentle.
-Man-san's reaction to Segasaki....oh I love her so much.
-I wonder if we have those cooling patches in the US. They seem refreshing.
-Is he reading the manga??? Awwww!!!!!! (I'm pretty sure for part of this he's reading the dialogue in the manga, so I'm fully lost. That's an interesting reaction to whatever Yoh said though. I think Yoh accidentally ruined the moment.)
-Man-san!!! God I still love her styling.
-So he texted what he wanted for dinner maybe? And something else, because a meal request I don't think would get that smile from Yoh.
-Daddy's home!!! I really do mean it that way, I don't know why I ever pretend I don't.
-"My name's Mizuki and I love warm hugs." (Tell me I'm wrong!)
-Sneaky hands sir, very sneaky.
-These motherfuckers only being honest when they're not looking at each other is killing me!!!
-Yoh is a fully grown man and also so smol. I love him
-So based on my keen observation skills, he made the curry again. And it's not crunchy this time. Yay!
-I'm pretty sure that last second is just Atsuki and Kouhei.
Ohhhhhhh, this was so good!!! It was so cute, and sweet, and so MUCH TALKING which was SO NECESSARY!!!!!! I can't wait to watch it all over again this weekend!!!
Tumblr media
But also Season Two when?!?!?! I need a solid 3 hours of them in domestic bliss! Please!!!!

Something that I’m always very curious about as an English speaker who watches Precure with subtitles, is just how much I’m losing in the translations. We saw very clearly in the full adaptation of Smile Precure to Glitter Force that a lot was lost, both in plot elements and in questionable translation choices. But when it comes to just the translations within subtitles, I’m curious to know what has been glossed over.
This commonly can be represented in other discussions within the honourific system utilized within the Japanese language. Knowing what the difference between “-chan” and “-sama” can really change how you understand the relationships between characters as they evolve. But I want to take this a step further, by trying to understand how the structure of a sentence, or common uses of slang may also tell us more about these characters as they grow together.
I’m especially curious if anyone who reads/speaks Japanese has picked up on any changes in language in Wonderful Precure! Does Iroha change the way she speaks when Komugi is in her human form? Does the first transformation impact the way that she addresses her? And does the way she speaks to Komugi imply sisterhood or friendship?? From the subtitles, I have trouble determining if any of these changes have occurred, and it’s too early on to make any assumptions about their relationship.
I know that we’re very early on in the series still, but I love the way that these two interact with each other. I’m so excited to see how they learn and grow together!! It might just be that I’m looking too deep into things, but I’m very interested to see if we get to see any more girl’s love tropes play out in this season. The stage has been set for some of the tropes to play out, but I don’t want to make any assumptions until I’ve got more of the full picture.
Anyways, if you’re someone who has thoughts on this, please feel free to comment or send me an ask!! ~ Ally

MegaMan NT Warrior officially available on YouTube for a limited time!!
It doesn't seem like anyone in the BN/NTW tags has made a post about this here on Tumblr? So I might as well at least let my followers know more about this. Copy-pasting from a post I made on one of my other social medias:
Yesterday as of this post, practically all of the MegaMan NT Warrior episodes, including Axess, have been uploaded to the official Capcom USA YouTube channel in celebration of the upcoming Battle Network Legacy Collection!~
The playlist for the first season is here, and then here's the playlist for Axess.
Now, some things to note:
The episodes will only be available until sometime in September, so please be sure to watch them while you can!! And also download/rips the videos if you want your own file backups of the episodes as well.
Whoever uploaded the episodes had, for some reason, simply used translations of the original Japanese episodes (one of the big examples is the first episode saying "Plug In! MegaMan!" instead of "Jack In! MegaMan!" :u) instead of the actual dub titles.
In addition, they went by the original Japanese order of episodes. Including episodes that were skipped in the dub. So after a certain point, all of the titles are completely off from the actual episode. Two examples are Ms. Millions' episode being named for the skipped idol episode, and the Wily memory chip episode being named after the skipped baseball episode. :P
It seems, somehow, the first dub episode of Axess was lost. Instead, they uploaded an officially subtitled version of the original Japanese episode. This is the only episode between the two seasons that was apparently lost.
The time limit on the availability of their episodes, combined with that one official sub episode, is leading a lot of people to believe Capcom will start selling a new special DVD/Blu-Ray/etc. set of all the dub episodes together once they take them down from the channel. This could also include a separate set of officially subtitled episodes for all of them, including the seasons that never got dubbed at all. One can only hope!! ;o;
So yeah, if you're a fan of the dub or even just want to watch out of curiosity, go check out the playlists while they're still up!! :D

I WOULD LIKE TO WATCH SOME ROCK OPERAS!!!!
I WOULD LIKE TO HELP YOU WATCH SOME ROCK OPERAS!!!!!
Tumblr media
There are two, completely separate productions, but they are both adaptations of the story of Beren and Luthien, from the Silmarillion.
The first is the Finrod rock opera. It was written in the early 2000's, and has several old recordings hanging out on Youtube. I recommend the 2014 concert version- it is, by far, the best place to start. Easy access, fully subtitled, and brilliant cast.
If you enjoy it, and want to see more, the company just started making broadcasts! They have six new recordings- four from Oct/Nov 2022, and two from Jan 2023. They are quite different from the 2014 concert version (they shuffled the songs around, and it's fully staged), but they are wonderful. I have a subtitled clip here.
If you wish to purchase one of the recent recordings, please contact me directly; it's a rather complicated process, because they're still working out broadcasting/international logistics. I have not finished subtitles for them, but my friend Anarchy has a translation on AO3.
The second is the Lay of Leithian rock opera. This was also written in the early 2000's, but as a one-woman bardic performance. It was only recently adapted into a rock opera in late 2020, and premiered in January 2021.
This one has six total recordings, and growing- every performance since June 2022 has been broadcast, and they just announced the last three shows of the season. I've made a master list of all recordings available for purchase here, with corresponding subtitle files (free) in English, Russian, and Finnish. Of all of them, I recommend the June 25, 2022 professional edit. It has the highest quality of video, editing, and sound. But if you want to watch for free, the very first recording on that list is an unlisted Youtube video, fully subtitled. It's their first broadcast, so there's issues with sound quality, and missing footage (which I repaired as best as I could), but it's still a wonderful start.
For more information and resources, check out my Lay of Leithian linktree, and for news and updates, I recommend my unofficial Instagram.
And as always- if you have any questions, and especially if you have any reviews, let me know! Happy viewing!
