Ninjago - Cuddling With The Ninjas (+ Pixal)

Jay

He’s a total cuddle bug

Whether you’re watching a movie or drifting off to sleep, he loves having you close

He actually sort of needs it too; it helps him relax, and lord knows this man needs to relax

It’s both the comfort of having you close and the sensation of physical contact that calms him down

He’ll usually be the one to come to you

If you’re just chilling, he likes to lean against you, his head on your chest or stomach while his arms wrap around your waist

He will melt if you play with his hair

He even requests you to do so sometimes

Sometimes he’ll vent while you cuddle, taking full advantage of the opportunity to unwind by blowing off some steam

He won’t get too riled up though

If you’re going to sleep, he prefers to be the little spoon

Or he’ll cling to your side like a koala, burying his face in your clothes

When that happens you’re trapped until morning, sorry

Maybe even a little longer, depending on how motivated he is to get up

You might hear him muttering things into your side

If you listen closely, you’ll hear your name and “I love you” / “you’re beautiful” / “I’m so lucky” / etc

Cole

He’s another major cuddler

It’s mostly when you’re relaxing that he likes to cuddle, though

He’s not too picky when it comes to positions

It kind of depends on who initiates the cuddles

If it’s him, he’ll grab you and pull you over to him effortlessly, trapping you in his lap or against his chest

If it’s you, he’s good with whatever you find comfortable :)

He likes to fiddle with your hair or hands while you cuddle

He presses chaste kisses on your knuckles and makes little braids in your hair (even if it’s super short)

He likes having you close when relaxing; it means he gets to share the moment with you as intimately as possible

Plus he likes holding you against him

It’s a little like a stress ball

On that note, he loves having you on top of him when he sleeps

That’s his way of asking for cuddles

He usually just reclines a little and puts his hands on the small of your back or your hips

He’s pretty stiff, but he’s comfortable, trust me

And he can adjust his body temperature to whatever temperature you ask

So you guys can cuddle in the middle of the summer, no problem

If you look up you’ll see him smiling, and that smile will only grow when he meets your gaze

He doesn’t like to cuddle when sleeping though

Partly because he knows it’s not very comfortable for you

But if you insist hard enough, he’ll consent to holding hands or letting you rest your head against his shoulder

Lloyd

Cuddles are pretty common with him

He just sees it as a comfortable way to relax with someone he loves, so he’s almost always cuddling you

If you’re in a more “public” space like the couch, he prefers casual positions like tangling your legs together or leaning against each other

He likes to squeeze your hand while you do this

Or play with your fingers, depending on how he's feeling

When you’re alone, your cuddles get more intimate

He likes to bury his face in you, whether that be your belly, chest, side, back, etc

He doesn’t really have a preference between holding you and being held

His breathing slows and his grip will slowly relax around you

Eventually he falls asleep; he just gets so comfortable

Sometimes he won’t bury his face though, and he’ll talk to you instead

It’s an intimate moment, so he takes advantage of it to tell you things

Doubts, secrets, worries, it’s all on the table

When he’s finished he’ll listen to what you have to say in turn

Then he’ll smile and bury his face in you, drifting off to sleep like usual

She's pretty ambiguous when it comes to cuddling

She doesn't like to cuddle excessively, but she can still accommodate you if you're a big cuddler

Sometimes she likes to hold you, sometimes she likes to be held

It just depends on her mood

Cuddles are a display of affection for her, both in the giving and receiving sense

That's why she switches between holding/being held

She has no problem asking for cuddles when she's in the mood

She'll literally grab your arms and wrap them around herself while she cozies up to you

Or she'll wrap an arm around you, pulling you against her and letting you adjust yourself

Kind of like Kai, she's not a huge fan of getting her hair played with, but she'll gladly play with your hair

She'll do little styles then undo them, combing her fingers through your hair to smooth it out again

When you're sleeping, she likes to spoon

She'll swap between big and little spoon; though she's slightly more inclined to be the little spoon

When she is the little spoon, she'll wrap her hands around yours, holding them gently against herself

That way you can feel her heartbeat :)

Pixal

She's the least receptive to cuddling out of the bunch

Even when you show her how, she doesn't get it

What she does understand is that it seems to make you happy though

And she's more than willing to do anything that makes you happy

So sometimes she'll try to be the one to initiate it, particularly when she sees that you're unhappy

You'll have to do the initiating most of the time though

Her efforts are stiff and unnatural at first, but they improve with time

She learns what you like and adapts accordingly

She doesn't like the actual cuddles so much as she likes seeing you all relaxed, a languid smile curving your lips

She'll try to make idle conversation with you while you cuddle

She finds the silence awkward

(Yet another reason she doesn't understand cuddling)

But she'll understand if you're just tired and you want to relax/sleep

She takes it as a compliment that you can fall asleep with her, despite her not fully grasping the whole "cuddling" concept

So in a way it is pretty fulfilling for her, just not in the way you'd expect

My thoughts on Dragons Rising S1-S2P1!

⚠️ POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD, TREAD LIGHTLY ⚠️

1. Arin is literally SO Autism coded I swear and you cannot tell me otherwise. It literally pissed me off so bad how that master dragon was treating him. He's a smart boy, he learns quick too!! But sometimes he gets stuck and held back by his own self. He needs a lot of patience when it comes to his training!! Stressing him out is not doing wonders for him grgrgrg. (I say this as a certified Autistic person)

2. The ninja are literally experiencing the Zane effect. His curse his spreading. My evidence?

Lloyd - Visions - Zane used to have many visions that all came true and they often caused him to wake in a startled state.

Jay - 100% no memory, plus it seems likely that he may turn to the dark side, if only temporary. - Do I really have to say it? Ice, fucking, Emperor.

Kai - Gets stuck in another dimension. - Oh ehm gee, Zane with the ice emperor arc.

3. My god, when Nya saw that fake vision of Jay not remembering her and she said she realize it was fake because there was no possible way he could forget her... it literally broke my heart. Like girl, I am sorry. I am so so sorry. You're love for him is so sweet but...it might seem a little crazy what I'm about to tell you...

4. Cole and Geo are so fucking gay, it's so sweet. They're so cute!!! I love them so much I can't 😭

5. Lloyd my poor poor boy. The visions just utterly terrorizing him was so devastating to watch. I felt so bad for him. I'm glad he managed to find peace with it, if somewhat.

6. What happens if Kai comes across the other four of the Forbidden Five?? What are the gonna do to him?? Please for the love of god-

7. Still waiting for a Cole v. Jay showdown. I need it and I need it now.

8. I miss Wu, Pixal, and Skylor!! And Dareth. Give Zane and Kai their girlfriends back istg. And like, maybe actually do Kailor justice for real this time?? Just sayin. And don't you DARE say Wu is dead, I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT. I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL BUILT ON DENIAL, JUST YOU WATCH.

9. Hear me out on this first Forbidden Five dude, PLEASE I BEG OF YOU-

10. I think it would be kinda silly if one of the Ninja actually got stuck with a wolf mask on while the gong thing was set off, and something bad actually happened with it?? More conflict and angst and drama please, make my heart bleed.

alright gang i've watched dragons rising up to episode 18

gonna infodump my thoughts, spoilers from up to ep. 18 under the cut!

sooooooooooooooooooooo holy shit this season's incredible

the idea that master wu took care of the ENTIRE monastery is so laughable. lloyd a huge chunk of wu's screentime is snapping at the ninja to do THEIR chores

mr. frohicky is so funny and him and zane are dating now i dont make the rules

on a serious note! i love frohicky and zane's dynamic

pixal..... i miss her

lloyd understands why wu never told them shit now. "why didn't you tell us you were the grandson of GOD" "eh never really came up"

lloyd and arin are so special to me, lloyd really did adopt this kid huh

nya working sora through her self-esteem issues!! their dynamic is particularly sweet and i really love that they got paired together

wyldfyre is slowly but surely becoming my favorite dragons rising character

like her and kai's dynamic shifting as he helps heatwave was so sweet

plot twist i freaking LOVE arrakore he's just sad in a cave

i didn't expect them to go into nya's trauma in this episode cuz like hgjkdfshjgk not plot relevant but the bitterness in her voice when she talked about the djinn having a thing for showmanship. hmm.

Whumptober 2023 Day 14 - Water Inhalation

AND WE'VE MADE IT TO SEABOUND ANGST MY FAVORITE MEAL! I am in LOVE with this one I think it turned out so good and I'm so proud of it. Might be my favorite one!

@splinnters second to last one but I think you'll LOVE this one!

Nya winced as he started coughing again, the sound echoing off of the thin gray walls and reverberating. She rubbed his chest soothingly, shushing him, doing her best to help the coughs taper off. Looking up to his mouth, she was hoping that even a little of the water in his lungs would be expelled, but she was only disappointed to see yet another thin string of saliva clinging to his chin instead.

She wiped at it with a napkin, disposing of it in the trash can they had placed next to the couch. It was almost full of napkins that had been used for the same purpose, and Nya’s foot nudged it as she leaned forward to press a light kiss to her Yin’s exposed collarbone. He let out a high whine, struggling against the grip she had on his wrists until she rubbed the thin skin with her thumbs.

“There we go,” she murmured against his skin once Jay finally quieted down, “there we go. You’re okay, honey, I’m right here. You just need to keep resting.”

With a strangled wheeze, Jay tried to say her name. “Nya?”

“I’m here, love,” she pulled the one blanket they had farther up his chest, tucking it around his sides and under the cushions. “Just try and go back to sleep, okay?”

First Master, there had to be something else she could do. Anything.

Jay leaned into her touch when she went to cup his cheek, thumb stroking the eyebags sunked into his skin. It had been so long since he had gotten some good sleep.

The others filed back into the room with gloomy expressions, and Nya already knew that they were bearing bad news from the way they avoided looking at her. Cole made his way to the couch, plopping himself down at Jay’s head and replacing the blue ninja’s pillow with his leg. Nya’s heart squeezed as she watched the earth ninja card his fingers through Jay’s hair to get him to sleep, Cole’s face pinching in worry. Jay relaxed into his brother’s touch, short hums getting caught in his throat as Cole scratched over his scalp. It would be such a peaceful scene if it weren’t so horrid outside.

Looking out of the room’s windows only to stare into a fabricated ocean made Nya’s head swim with anxiety, and she quickly looked away.

“We cannot make it out through the sewers,” Pixal reported, coming to stand next to Nya and lay a gentle hand on her shoulder. Her tone was professional, but Nya knew the samurai well enough to recognize the worry in her undertones. “They are completely flooded, and the combat craft are not small enough to fit in the tunnels. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, Pix,” Nya said, even though she could feel the tears stinging at her eyes. “We’ll just have to think of something else. It’s not the end of the world.”

But it might signal the end of hers.

Kai ran a hand through his hair, messy and unkempt. “We’ve searched this building from top to bottom, Nya. If there was anything we would’ve found it by now. There’s no medicine, there’s no exit, there’s nothing.”

“Can we use the oxygen tanks from the crafts?” Lloyd asked. “Maybe if we get one and try to make a mask-”

“That wouldn’t help him,” Zane said heavily, the words settling over the rest of the room like lead, “oxygen can only do so much. We need to get the water out of his lungs.”

And Nya felt the guilt and the shame crash into her like a tidal wave; she was the master of water, and she couldn’t even save the ones that she loved from drowning in their sleep.

Suddenly, Jay was trying to push himself up on his elbows, back to hacking his lungs out. The sound was harsh and grating against Nya’s ears, and it was one that she had heard entirely too much in the past few hours. Cole quickly pushed him up, thumping the palm of his hand against the blue ninja’s back as Nya held Jay up by the shoulders. Normally they only lasted a minute or two, and then Jay would slump over onto whoever was holding him, exhausted.

Except it wasn’t stopping.

They kept getting louder and louder, and Nya hugged him close to rub his back and try to help however she could. But something was wrong. She could feel his lungs spasming rapidly, and hear him choking as he tried to take in air, gasping.

He couldn’t breathe.

Jay couldn’t breathe.

“Shit!” she exclaimed, starting to whack against the back of his ribs to try and help him. Jay was still coughing, the sound loud and wet next to her ear as his hands clutched at her gi in teror, and Nya could feel him start to tremble. “He needs help!”

“We will get the oxygen tank,” Pixel said, grabbing Zane’s arm and pulling him out of the room. Cole scrambled to grab the bucket they had left on the other side of the room, settling behind Nya. She flinched when she heard Jay start to gag; Cole must’ve stuck his fingers in his mouth and triggered his gag reflex. It wasn’t long before her Yin was vomiting into the bucket, expelling anything that he could except for the water in his lungs. Even a glob of thick blood made a splat in the bottom of the bucket, and Nya started kissing as much of his skin as she could reach as tears soaked into the fabric of her gi.

He sobbed, shaking, and she held him fast. “I know, dear, I know. I know it hurts, and I know you’re hurting, but It’s going to be okay, I promise. It’s going to be okay, Jay. You’re okay, you’re okay, you’re okay-”

And she repeated it like a mantra, through some of the water finally being coughed up and through Jay’s thick sobs as his chest heaved for air. He was whispering, begging for it to stop, and Nya’s heart broke in two. Kai had sat behind his back, pressing his warm hands to Jay’s shoulder blades in an effort to stop his shaking and reassure the blue ninja, but Nya could tell that it wasn’t working. Lloyd was next to her, pressing a kiss to her temple and putting his hands on top of hers. He was using his power, doing his best to push the energy through to Jay.

Finally, Wu gently pushed Kai away, replacing the fire ninja’s hands with his own. “Son,” he said quietly, and they all watched in awe as their master used his powers, his hands glowing with golden power, “you have to breathe for me, for us. I know it’s hard, but I believe in you, and I know you’re strong enough. In and then out, can you do that for me?”

Jay nodded, and Nya’s hand went to cup the back of his head, tangling her fingers in his hair and tugging gently to soothe him.

“Good,” Wu said firmly, moving his hands up and down. Gold swirls followed his hands, and to her amazement Jay actually did start to breathe more easily. He pressed a knuckle to Jay’s spine, running over each of the ridges. “You’re doing amazing, Jay. Keep going, we are here with you.”

Minutes passed, and the experience was absolutely agonizing. Nya held him the entire time, whispering reassurances and sweet nothings into his ear as he hacked up anything he could manage, eventually starting to breathe in large harsh wheezes that had her heart aching. Cole took away the bucket and put it back on the floor, instead cupping her Yin’s face and speaking to him softly the same way Nya was doing. Wu removed his hands after seeing that his power had done all that it could, stepping back and letting Kai rub Jay’s shoulders.

Zane and Pixal were back with the repurposed oxygen tank, a hastily made mask in her hands, but that solution was very quickly shot down when Jay shoved it away. He was barely conscious, but he was still aware enough to tell that someone was trying to put something on his face; Nya hated that his first instinct was that he was being gagged. Zane did his best to coax his brother to wear the mask, telling him that it would help, but Jay was having none of it.

“He doesn’t like things over his mouth,” Nya explained softly after glancing at Zane's hurt expression, “it’s nothing personal, I promise. Maybe try making it a cannula instead?”

Pixal started work on it right away. Nya didn’t let herself relax until the wheezes finally tapered off, and even though Jay still couldn’t take a full breath it was deeper than anything she had heard for the past fifteen minutes. The relief in the room was palpable, and she had vague thoughts about how she needed to make the atmosphere at least a little happier. She traced a finger around the shell of his ear, hoping to see him shy away and giggle from the touch, and to her relief he scrunched up his shoulder in response.

“That’s all it takes, huh?” she teased, reaching up and doing the same thing to his other ear. Jay was quick to block her access again, but she just kept alternating until he let out a few raspy giggles. “You make it too easy.”

“Nya,” he whined in protest, and the sound of his wrecked and ruined voice was music to her ears. She relented, instead bringing her hands down to start working at undoing his belt. Jay needed to get out of his wet gi if they didn’t want him to get sick.

Kai caught on and helped to get the gi off, balling it up and throwing it in the corner of the room. He hugged the both of them, his arms coming to rest around Nya’s waist with Jay sandwiched in the middle, using his powers to raise his body temperature and soothe both of them. Cole had gotten up to push one of the other couches to the edge of the first one to make more seating, and he snatched Lloyd up in a bear hug that the green ninja only protested once while throwing his legs into Jay’s lap. Zane looked unsure of where to place himself, but eventually settled for sitting behind Nya, his naturally cold temperature working to balance out Kai’s body heat.

Taking one look at the mangled mask and at the cuddle pile, Pixal left it on the ground, instead stripping off her armor and plopping down next to Nya. She laid her head on the water ninja’s other shoulder, feeling Zane’s arm wrap itself around her waist and hold her close.

“What’s going on?” Jay murmured into Nya’s shoulder. “Are we having a cuddle party?”

“Yup, and it’s all for you, Sparky.” Kai said, kissing the top of his brother’s head.

“Can I go to sleep?”

“It would be most beneficial if you did go back to sleep,” Zane said, “because you need your rest. We will figure out what to do.”

Jay coughed again, and Nya clenched her fists, afraid that it would break out into a full coughing fit again. Thankfully, it was just the one. “Can I lay down?”

“After you stay up for a bit,” Cole said sympathetically. “We can’t let the water sit in one place for too long if we want to keep you from getting pneumonia.”

“Stupid pneumonia,” Jay muttered, and it was so Jay that Nya had to chuckle in response. Leave it to her Yin to insult a potentially debilitating illness that they currently had no way of treating and saving him from.

“Pnuemonia is actually quite a serious condition, Jay. If left untreated it could very well-”

Nya felt her heart stutter much like Jay’s normally did, and of course Jay was quick to notice. “I know what it is, Pixal, now stop talking about it. You’re stressing Nya out.”

“I think I’m less stressed about pneumonia and more about the fact that you can’t breathe properly,” Nya snipped, but she immediately wilted. That wasn’t what a good Yang would say.

Yet, Jay didn’t seem to take it personally, instead tracing the skin of her lower back through a cut in her gi. He didn’t say anything, letting the silence settle over the room and pressing a kiss to the crook of Nya’s neck. Nya rucked up his white undershirt, taking off her gloves and placing her bare hands on his skin. She felt his element react instantly, the small electric current flowing through her and making her nerve-endings tingle. There were so many scars across his back, too many to count, but she made sure to trace all of them as meticulously as she could.

It wasn’t long before soft snores filled the air; Jay had finally fallen back asleep against her shoulder, his full weight leaning on top of her and both of them being supported by Zane.. And that was when Nya finally allowed herself to break down and cry.

Here's a quick headcanon for you, though !

Lloyd 100% reads fanfiction. I don't make the rules. He is deep, deep into the Starfarer fandom, and he sometimes even writes his own fics (with the help of Pixal <3)! He tried to commission Cole to draw something for him (Cole please please pretty please? I have this really cute idea!!! Don't you love me? 🥺) and that ended with him being tossed onto the closest soft surface and smothered by a pillow. Lloyd definitely jumped for joy when a few days later, there's the exact Starfarer drawing he wanted sitting peacefully on his pillow. Cole got a lot of hugs that day, not that he's complaining. Lloyd's the type of person to gush about his favorite hyperfixations but feels guilty about it when he thinks that no one cares/they're not interested/they think he's being too childish. To counter that, his family give their utmost attention to him, asking questions and giving their own thoughts about it. A safe bet for gifts is just giving him plushies or merch from the series. Jay got him a first edition comic, and then he couldn't enter a room with Lloyd in it without getting thrown into a wall by a very aggressive and well-meaning hug.

I've been talking about physical affection a lot in this hc, so I have to make it known my stance on this. When he was younger, he definitely had touch-starvation issues. He grew up with literally no physical positive reinforcement, and when he was touched, it was most likely for a cruel prank or a school-issued punishment. So, when he went to the bounty with the ninja, he tried his hardest to subtly try to get physical affection without seeming "needy" or "weak." He sometimes didn't even realize he was doing it. He just subconsciously walked closer to Kai and let his hand brush against him or sat across from Jay and "jokingly" kicked his leg. He uses pranks often to try to get some type of touch, usually in the form of being dragged to the scene of the crime to clean something up (oopsie sorry Kai I didn't know that you wanted your upside down container of hair gel to be closed. I didn't think it would just fall out, sorry teehee). Eventually, the ninja figure it out - probably with the help of Nya if I'm being honest - and make sure to give him lots and lots of cuddles. Eventually, he just grows to be a very physically affectionate person, most likely because he was deprived of it.

I FINISHED NINJAGO AND-

So I finished Ninjago and I am literally crying and `am so fucking happy rn cause I loved that stupid cheesy ass ending!

Thoughts in order (do not expect them to be concise):

-SALLY'S SONG

-I'm sorry but I still won't ship Pixal and Zane I think them having a sibling dynamic is just more fun I'm sorry don't shoot me!

-The writers really said "Giving Cole the hereto love interest we gave everyone else? Nah he's not even gonna TALK to Vania" (who I need to make fan art cause I love her design)

-WHO WAS GONNA TELL ME THE CLOSEST WE GET TO LGBT+ REP IS GARMADON AND HIS NEWS CAMERAMAN BOYFRIEND VINNY (they will get fan art cause I swear Vinny and Garmadon did the crack ship before it was popular)

-They're gonna need so much therapy

-Let them sleep, please.

-The ending was really sweet and I think it wrapped the show up well, I'm kinda sad there's a new show coming out cause it means these characters are gonna be going through more shit (kinda) but I'm also really excited cause more Ninjago you know!

-I'm just gonna hope they take Harumi to a psyche ward or something to help her through some shit cause yo ca NOT tell me she's like 100% yet

-Honestly epilogue HC's coming soon same with fanart cause I still love the show even if they're is none left to watch

-Garmadon still owns my entire heart I love him so much

More ninja headcanons, instruments edition™:

- Wu plays the Flute, and he also flute beat boxes, and everyone tells him it's impressive asf but he doesn't see it as such, I'm gonna also go ahead and say his staff is the Flute, basically taking it from the movie, he only does it when he's bored, so he'd be watching the ninja train and he'd suddenly start playing his oversized flute-staff out of boredom

- Jay's definitely the guitar, when everyone's gathered for the day of the Departed, he's the one to pull out the guitar when everyone is around the campfire, generally preferring to just play it instead of singing (partiality because his singing isn't great) but he would sing if evryeone else joins in

- Kai loves the drums, if he isn't training or doing chores, he's playing the drums almost 24/7, he's the typa guy to pull up random ass songs just to add his own drums to them

(mental image of baby shark playing while Kai is absolutely fucking ripping it with the drums like there's no tomorrow)

- Cole's is a bass guitar, because that's the only headcanon I accept >:)

So yeah he loves his bass guitar, he and Kai make a kick ass duo if they decide to team up for a song or a random tune they thought of, however they remain in second place in the "music playing duos" *wink wink*

- Nya's is the trumpet and sax, I'm sorry but the mental image of her playing the trumpet or sax is way too good to be left unused

Generally, she prefers a more laid back approach when it comes to playing both instruments, mainly making jazzy tunes, and she's one of the few people who actually make full music tracks instead of randomly playing whenever she feels like it, with Kai being the one working on the drums, and Cole being the one to provide a really really low tone bass guitar in the background to break up any background silence

- Lloyd originally didn't take interest in music, but after the Oni invasion he thought to himself "might as well learn something now that life is somewhat calm again", so he picked the harmonica and he is really damn good at it, you've heard of Flute beatbox, but have you heard of HARMONICA BEATBOX??? (yes it actually exists BTW, it's just as goofy and cool as it sounds), and if he and the team are in a dessert, you better bet your ass he's gonna play the hermonica as long as they're there, which is both amusing and annoying to everyone else around him

- and the last two, Zane and PIXAL

Zane and PIXAL can play all instruments almost immediately from the get go, they just need a few hours to fully perfect them, but they both still prefer using one instead of all of them

Zane picked up the violin, recognising the emotional petional it had, so he immediately fell in love with it, at first he was a bit apprehensive about telling his team about his hobby but eventually they all found out when they heard him play it in his room because he forgot to close the door, and much to his delight they were actually really happy he picked something up to express himself like them

PIXAL picked up the piano, she really doesn't know why she likes it so much, one day it just clicked to her

Like Zane, she was also a bit apprehensive about telling the others, but one day Zane caught her playing it, and he proceeded to tell everyone about it with the biggest "my GF is so badass" look on his face, she was a bit worried at first when they found out about her piano skills but she eventually she got used to it

Now because I'm a sucker for the 2 nindroid Ninjas literally doing everything together (PIXANE best ship don't @ me)

I also headcanon that when they both found out that the other plays an instruments, 2 very complimentary ones at that, they immediately started writing up a fuck ton of songs/tracks, like you'd walk in on them and thier conversation would be something like:

"wait how about a small violin part here?"

"wait, how about making the part be broken apart by the paino? so the second the paino ends, a small violin part starts, and the second it ends the piano starts up again?"

"WHY ALSO NOT MAKE IT SO THAT IT EVENTUALLY REACHES A CLIMAX WHERE THE TRACK ENDS WITH BOTH INSTRUMENTS PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME?"

"YEAH ALSO MAKE IT SO THE SONG'S MOTIF PLAYS AFTER THE CLIMAX AS THE ENDING!"

"THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M THINKING-"

"YEAAAAAAA-"

Back to the topic at hand, yeah they write music together mostly, they're either the most emotional roller coaster you've ever heard (always makes someone on the team cry) or they're just more laid back, usually the piano and violin sounding hopeful in these songs

But if they're feeling chaotic, then oh boy are they gonna write up some ridiculous but cool shit, by that I mean a crazy fast paced piano with a violin (to get an example of what I mean, take a listen to the song "Xi - ascension to heaven")

RISE OF THE TMNT

Initium Novum (#inau) Told from the perspective of an OC (lost turtle sibling called Masaccio (Acie)), takes place during the show and has a lot of other OCs in it if that's not your jam

What Do You Do When You Fall Into Heaven? (#fihau) Told from multiple perspectives, takes place during/after the movie and is a hurt/comfort. The same cast as Initium Novum, with some additions :) I really wanted to write the future guys man they all show up at some point

Who's That Hamato? (#wthau) Kind of an au of Initium Novum, it's what if Acie was also taken in by Splinter. Explores a different facet of them, explores how their relationships would be different in a different situation.

We Have Got To Stop Meeting New People Like This (#snpau) Another Initium Novum/WDYDWYFIH au but this one's Ninjago :) Similar to House of the Rising Sun (Shells) in that the Merge caused their world to join the Merged Realms, they all explore this new world and Acie gets to go nuts.

Boys of Summer (#bosau) Non-OC au, it's another separated au throw the confetti throw the sparkles- Leo focused, he's still with Splinter but Draxum is there as well and has been redeemed, the others found their own ways out of the lab and ended up in different places.

Rise from the Dead (#rftdau) Non-OC au, puts a ghostly spin on the story. The turtles are all ghosts that only April can see. There's no yokai and no mystics, but multiple yokai characters are still in the story, just as humans.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Critters (#tmncau) Sort of Minecraft au but not really, I just really really love the fanon Minecraft hybrids so I made the turtles into them :). They're mutants still but they've got distinctly Minecraft hybrid traits I've put sooo much thought into the traits for all the different hybrids it's so fun

Shell From Another Realm (#sfarau) A Rise/Ninjago crossover au, takes place post-Rise movie and post-Crystalized pre-Dragon's Rising. The turtles, April, and Casey end up in the world of Ninjago and try to find their way home while also trying to figure out this new world.

House of the Rising Sun (Shells) (#hotrsau) Another Rise/Ninjago crossover au, completely separate from the previous one in that this takes place during Dragon's Rising instead. When the Merge caused all the Realms to collide, Earth was one of them, and everyone ended up scattered across the Merged Realms. The Hamatos decide to settle in the Crossroads and meet some young faces.

NINJAGO

Some Assembly Required (#sarau) Completely rewrites the entire thing, based on the question "what if the bite from the Devourer didn't turn Garmadon evil and instead made him sick?" Garmadon is good and raising his children, the kids aren't really as in tune with their elemental powers, and I made a bunch of lore for it around the dragons and the other elemental masters please ask me about it please please /lh (has a couple ocs but not very many) (pretty shippy, a lot of poly relationships)

Web of Destiny (#wodau) Spiderman au, all six main ninja are a group of heroes, with Pixal as a vigilante. Other characters from the series feature as villains. The Dragons Rising cast also features.

The Dragon's Samurai (#tdsau) Crystalized ending rewrite, Pixal focused. Asking "what if their golden powers went haywire after they sent them to Lloyd, causing them to lose themselves? Also what if Nya got a golden form I'm so sad she didn't get one" Basically they get taken over by their powers and Pixal has to go talk some sense into them I lOVE PIXAL SO MUCH DO YOU UNDERST

Abnormal Reaction (#arau) DO YOU GUYS LIKE THE BIZARROS BECAUSE I DO this is entirely me wanting to have a Bizarro au they don't die after getting dusted they just regroup somewhere else and decide to go do their own thing after Garmadon gets defeated

A Different Vision of the Future (#advotfau) I'm lowkey embarrassed about this one lmAO it's a Genshin au,,,,, I probably won't write a fic for it like I will with the others but I wanted to draw it and explore the concept I don't even play Genshin anymore I'm crying

Ready Your Triforce, It's About To Have More Sides (#rytau) Do you guys like Breath of the Wild :) I like Breath of the Wild :) BotW/Ninjago crossover au besties they all end up in different points in time and get to interact with different pEOPLE lots of me messing around with dynamics

staring up at the sky (and hoping to see your face) (#suatsau) Veeeeery self indulgent self discovery au. Everyone but Lloyd is this almost godlike ruler of different concepts and they give him the chance to leave everything to come join them, and he has to make that decision.

Ninjas & Normies (#nanau) They're all just normal college students who like to play D&D, they each get a chance to run a campaign once they're taught how to play. Each campaign is based off a plot point or season from the show.

Departed and Service (#dasau) BASED ON Five Nights at Freddys NOT ACTUALLY A FNAF AU I don't know NEARLY enough about the fnaf lore to make an actual au with it but they're all animatronic characters from a very popular kid's TV show and Morro and Pixal are employees at their party place :) A bunch of side characters show up in this (Dragon's Rising cast also appears)

SPINJITZOON! (#spinau) It's a Splatoon au they're all having fun Ronin is basically Grizz he messes with their weapons and makes them more powerful (Dragon's Rising cast appears)

Pokemon Spin and Pokemon Whip (#pspwau) Pokemon au!!! There's two different parts to this, the first one starring Kai Nya and Lloyd, and the second starring Arin Sora Wyldfyre and Euphrasia! They all go on their adventures and in the second part Kai Nya and Lloyd see themselves in these kids and want to help them go farther

Adventures of the Dragon (#aotdau) Another D&D au but this one is them just living in a D&D fantasy style world :) silly things ensue this one's more just art than fully written story

Shapes and Colors (#sacau) Minecraft au! They're a group of friends who play on a server together and some of them are streamers and youtubers who record these sessions and put it out there for their fans, some of them do lore while some of them have no idea what's going on any of the time. Other elemental masters and Dragons Rising characters appear. (shippy, but mostly with their little characters that they made for the lore)

Lights, Camera, Action! (#lcaau) Silly actor au! Not much else to it

Song of the Sirens (#sotsau) Mermaid au, some of them are pirates and others are mermaids. Just some fun dynamics with some human/nonhuman shipping :)

Mobs of a Feather Flock Together (#moafftau) Another,, another Minecraft au this one is like Adventures of the Dragon in that they live in this world and also they're all different Minecraft hybrids I got really really into Minecraft hybrids man I just really like to draw them,,,, Dragons Rising cast is included

Ninjagoing Going Gone (#gggau) Sort of Scooby Doo-esque mystery au, kind of a blend between movieverse and showverse. Starring Arin, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Euphrasia, they're looking for the old heroes they used to hear about as kids who completely disappeared years ago. They find Lloyd and force him convince him to help them, even though he's not so sure he can.

At first, he would be shocked, then annoyed at how one of the 'new' ninjas would flirt with you. He would always say it was stupid, that they didn't even know you personally, but Jay would roll his eyes and huff in annoyance. You were his partner and he knew you well enough to know he could be jealous. He just didn't like seeing you get flirted up by someone who barely knew you. "I don't want you talking to them [your nickname]!" Jay pouted as you turned down another person's advances for dinner that night. You looked at him and smirked, making him squirm under your gaze.

"What? Do you have a problem with me speaking to other people?" You teased, knowing full well he had a thing about strangers flirting with you. He was so protective, and you loved that about him. "No! It's not that." Jay shook his head, taking your hand in his own. "It's just...you're my partner and I don't want you being near them," he explained. His frown deepened when you laughed at his statement, squeezing his hands gently before pulling out of his grasp. "You worry too much about it. I don't like them anyway" you assured him, smiling softly when he still frowned. "Really?" He asked, watching your smile widen. You nodded as he smiled back. "Well okay then. Just let me know if they hurt you, or anything, ok? Promise?" He insisted and you laughed again, nodding quickly. "I promise."

COLE !

Now Cole would never let you go near the 'new' ninja. No matter how hard they tried to flirt with you. He would probably tell them to fuck off and to stop flirting with you. And he had done it before. He always told them this, but this time they weren't listening. It was pretty obvious to everyone else that they liked you and were being extra nice to you. You were the only one who noticed his reaction to the 'new' ninja. When you saw him glaring at them every now and then when they interfered in what you guys were doing. You knew something was up, so you decided to talk to Cole and see if he could help you figure out what was wrong. You sat downside him, while he plays his game. "Cole?" "What," He said bluntly. Not even glancing away from his game. "Is everything okay? You seem upset." You asked. He sighed, before putting his controller down on the table. "I'm fine." He said, turning to face you. You raised an eyebrow at him. "No, you're not." You said. He groaned. "Don't laugh at me, okay?" He muttered, looking anywhere but at you. You smiled reassuringly at him. "Never, Cole." You said. He looked back up at you. "The 'new' ninja is getting a little bit close and flirting with you, and...I don't like it."

He whispered. Your eyes widened as you stared at him. Then you smiled, reaching over and ruffling his hair. "Cole, you are such a sweetheart." You cooed. His cheeks turned red as he ducked his head to hide his embarrassed blush. When he finally looked up at you again, you were still smiling at him. "Thanks for telling me." You said. He nodded. "But," you continued, taking both of his hands in yours. "If you ever need to talk about this, I am here. Okay?" You said softly. Cole nodded. "Okay." You grinned at each other and leaned forward to peck his cheek.

ZANE !

Zane would be confused cuz' he's never felt this kind of feeling before. Seeing the new ninja flirt and talk to you way differently than they talked to them made him confused. He felt, mad for some reason, he didn't want you talking to them. So he asked PIXAL about his emotions. "It seems that you're jealous of the 'new' ninja flirting and interacting with [reader]" She told him. "I am?" He couldn't deny that he thought that you were very attractive, but not as much as you were with him. He wanted all your attention to be on him, he didn't like seeing you around the new ninja when he was around, he didn't know why he was so upset about it but he was. "Yes, I don't know what it means but it seems that you care about your feelings more than logic dictates." Zane sighed, "I suppose I do. Can I ask why? Why does my heart feel this way towards them?" "I've been trying to find an answer. There are some things in our coding that affect our emotions. I believe one is when we see others interacting romantically. It's like watching a movie that's playing in your head. We can watch someone else and watch from the outside without ever being able to experience it in person. It may explain why you're so angry at these new ninja, even though they're not dating [reader]"

Zane nodded, "I understand." The next day Zane noticed something different. Whenever you interacted with another ninja they'd always try to get closer to you or touch you. Zane knew this wasn't right because you weren't interested in them, but every time he looked at them he just got upset. You walked around the monastery trying to find Zane. Kai had told you he was outside, training but he wasn't there. So you decided to check his room. You found him sitting at his desk staring out the window. "Hey Zane" He turned to face you, a small smile on his face. You smiled back as he stood up, walking over to you. You were standing only a few inches apart. "Hello Y/N, how may I help you?" His voice was soft and smooth as he spoke to you. "I wanted to check up on you. You've kinda been ignoring me for a few days so" You mumbled, and the room fell silent. Zane looked away from you for a moment and then back at you. "Oh, I'm sorry, please forgive me if my behavior has been quite rude. It's just..." He trailed off as his hand moved to yours and he began to intertwine your fingers together. "I've seen how the 'new' ninjas would flirt and touch you and I've been...jealous? Since." You frowned, "Is that why you've been avoiding me?" You said softly. Zane squeezed your hand lightly as he nodded. You giggled at his cute little expression, you cupped his cheek in your free hand and leaned in to give him a quick kiss on the lips. When you pulled away you saw he was smiling happily. "I love you and you only, no one else can change that" You whispered. Zane blushed bright red at your words, "Y/N..you don't mean that..." You laughed and shook your head. "Oh, I do! Now let's go get something to eat!"

KAI !

Kai is such a hothead that he can’t help himself from jumping into conclusions like this. He doesn’t know where it came from. It just kinda happened. When he sees the new ninjaflirting with you, he feels something in his heart twist, like an elastic band stretching dangerously tight. It’s so obvious. And yet, no one has said anything about it. They haven’t done anything either, not that he knows of. Except for maybe Cole and Zane who have been giving him weird looks lately, but even they haven’t said anything. Maybe he was just overreacting but there are other people besides him that are flirting with you. Why not say something? That way it wouldn’t feel as awkward when he eventually gets jealous too, which could happen at any moment. “Hey, Cole! I need your opinion on something.” Kai says gaining Col's attention. His friend looks at him curiously, but nods.

“I think I should go talk to reader about something.” Cole blinks and cocks his head to the side slightly. “Is this about the new ninjas?" Cole asked. The red ninja nods vigorously. Cole rolls his eyes, "Tell them about it, tell them that the new ninjas make you jealous" he tells Kai. “But… I don’t want to make things weird” Kai says, cole frowns, clearly not buying that answer. "You're already making everything weird." Kai sighs defeated, "Yeah okay, fine. I'll tell them." When he told you that he got jealous of the new ninjas you were confused."What do you mean you're jealous of them? Are you jealous they might take me away from you~" You teased. Kai groans "You know what? Forget it, forget it, forget it. Just forget that I ever mentioned that. Forget I ever brought it up!" He says looking everywhere else but you. You chuckle before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek. Kai's cheeks turn bright red and his eyes widened in surprise. He turns his head towards you, looking straight into your eyes, and leans closer. He closes the distance between you two by placing his lips softly against yours. Your breath catches and you immediately kiss back. When you pull apart, you see Kai's face light up with a smirk. His cheeks are dusted pink and his eyes glisten with happiness and affection. You smile back at him, feeling butterflies swirl around inside your stomach. You wrapped your arms around him and rested your head on his chest. Kai wraps his arms around you and smiles down at you. His expression softens and he gently kisses you on the forehead. "I'll never replace you" You mumbled. "Is it because I'm hot?" He asked smugly. You laughed "Well, yeah. But, more than that. I love you." You kissed his cheek again. "I love you too." He whispered.

Ranking every ninjago season and why :3

(Yall are gonna 100% hate me for this)

(Spoilers for Dragons rising kinda)

I hate it sm, it literally could've been one of the best seasons in ninjago history, but there was WAY too much filler and was so underwhelming and predictable. Didn't even feel like a Zane season during the second half it felt more like a Lloyd season. ALL of the ninja should've fought Zane + Pixal, and she should've come as well. AND THE FACT THAT ZANE'S TRAUMA WAS NEVER BROUGHT UP. LIKE HUH????? I will forever hate this season with a passion no matter what anyone says.

18. Forbidden Secrets of Spinjitzu

17. Prime Empire

I really can't care for it at all it just feels like the ninjago writers ran out of ideas(which I completely understand, but still) you could literally skip the entire thing and the whole plot line would STILL make sense. The only time I genuinely rewatch this is if I'm THAT bored. Really should've stuck the to idea with Jay's mother running away from something(which they 100% should've done in the first place)

16. Skybound

Before yall come to my house and beat the shit out of me, HEAR. ME. OUT. Kinda the same situation with Prime Empire. You could skip it, and the show would still make sense. It's never addressed after the season, and all of it is just...wack. Nadakkan is a fucking creep towards Nya, like mf BACK OFF. And Jay isn't any better. He's constantly disrespecting Nya's boundaries throughout a majority of the season, and I do NOT understand how Jay fans justify that. And the amount of sexism in it??? I just don't like this season in general and would very much like to stay away from it.

15. The Island

It felt like it was just there for the purpose of being there. It's important to the plot the next season but I felt like that could've been resolved with a little b plot. Ik it's technically not a season but idc. That's it. Nothing else I can say abt it.

14. Crystalized

It had sm potential, but the second half felt so rushed. The first 12 eps were really well paced, but the last 18 felt like a whole other season. The entire ending was rushed, and it was so hyped as well. I was at the edge of my chair waiting and waiting but....nothing. I never really believed that Pixal was gonna die, but I 100% expected Wu to die or SOMEONE to make a huge sacrifice. The original ending wouldn't have been much better bc at that point, there would've been only 2 eps left. AND NO ONE BROUGHT UP THE FACT THAT ZANE DEFEATED THE OVERLOAD. NOT EVEN LLOYD???? "Third time's the charm," MF ZANE DEFEATED HIM THE THIRD TIME FOR WAY LONGER THAN YOU DID AND NOT EVEN THE OVERLOAD MENTIONED IT LIKE WHAT??? AT LEAST REFRENCE IT OR SUM.

13. Hands of Time

To get something out of the way, the animation reminded me of Miraculous Ladybug.(IM SORRY) The season felt odd but in a good way. And knowing that Pixal was in that Samurai X suit makes her personality in s7 10× more funnier. I don't hate it but I don't love it at the same time. It's a 50/50

12. The Pilots

Since it's the start or it all, it's going to get a decent ranking. I really like it and it did just fine for a pilot ep(s) But other seasons are just better :3

11. Master of The Mountain

It's a really nice season to get back at I fricking LOVE the little flashback of Cole's mother. But at the same time it's a bit forgettable.(don't come for me) That's it. :3

10. Legacy of The Green Ninja

One of the classic seasons. It's good enough to make it to the top 10. This was where ninjago was originally supposed to end. Its really nice and seeing Lloyd battle his dad was sad :,) All the episodes are really fun and entertaining but other seasons are just better :3

9. Rise of The Snakes

The first season of ninjago where it all truly started. Much like s2 all the episodes are really entertaining. It's really heartwarming to watch all the ninja grow up and change throughout the rest of the seasons. It's always a classic you can come back to. But other seasons are still just better

8. Possession

It's a really nice season and the pros outweigh the cons but I really don't like Morro(atp yall finna hate me) He's like Kai if his "I'm supposed to be the green ninja" phase never left. His redemption arc was so fricking boring and forgettable that I don't even REMEMBER what happened and i'm too lazy to go back. But the episodes are also really entertaining and a bit funny.

7. Rebooted

TOO MANY PPL DONT LIKE THIS SEASON AND IDK WHY. Okay the love triangle was extremely unnecessary and didn't help progress the plot at all. But all the good really outweighs it. It's the birth of the best Canon ship(which is pretty much all I post abt here) Really entertaining. AND HAS ONE OF THE BEST SCENES IN HISTORY. Ik yall were in TEARS after the last ep.

6. Dragons Rising

It's a really well paced season and MASSIVELY improved from crystalized. THEY ACTUALLY GIVE ZANE A PERSONALITY AND I AM HERE FOR IT. It gives off a really well based story, and it's really entertaining. Ik a majority of Jay fans were upset bc he only got like 14 seconds of screen time if that, but with everything going on and at that point there were 3 eps left. The story pacing would've been extremely rushed, so I'm kinda glad that happened. Nothing else to say.

5. March of The Oni

Really great season. Just really hits you in the feels. Nice season you can always rewatch. I love the Pixal/Cole/Zane interaction in the first ep really funny. The rest of the season is pretty self explanatory

4. Tournament of Elements

This season is one of the best in the show. Like S10 it's pretty self explanatory. Introduces us to a bunch of new concepts. GARMADON SACRIFICING HIMSELF WAHHHHHHH. The only thing I genuinely have a problem with is the Zane amnesia part. I really wanted it to last the whole season like make Zane have little flashbacks bit by bit. That could've been really interesting. The rest is amazing.

3.Sons of Garmadon

SO MANY PPL WHO STOPPED WATCHING AFTER THE REDESIGNS MISSED OUT OMG. It's so good. Good characters. Good villains. Good story concept. GREAT execution. Just mwah. Crystalized kinda ruined Harumi's arc. Like I would've been fine if she stayed dead. HER ARC WAS PERFECT. I love her sm. Also has one of the best outfits/weapons. THE REDESIGNS DID THEM JUSTICE THEYRE SM BETTER THAN THE OLD ONES(don't find me pls.) It's great would recommend :3

2. Seabound

ONE OF THE BEST SEASONS JUST MWAH. Nya's arc was really nice, and her merging with the ocean pulled on my heartstrings istg. HER INTERACTIONS WITH HER MOTHER JUST...*cries forever*

1. Hunted

MY FAVORITE SEASON OMG EVERYTHING ABT IT IS FUCKING PERFECT. The music. The characters. EVERYTHING. Has one of the best intros in ninjago. I love how Lloyd was trying to cope with his friends being "dead" and being so relieved that they're actually alive. The designs are so good. The story progresses really smoothly and just...*chefs kiss*

AN: who's the Coffee manager? Well this gal right here!

I call her Jennifer after Jenny X9 from My life as a Teenage Robot, but I theorize she may be Pixals Predecessor, the 15th P.I.X.A.L. Her color scheme is way to close for me along with her personality haha her and Pixal are both very competitive and full of sass along with being protective of their respective interests.

Back when Diisdoodles and I were on speaking terms, they came up with the ship name, which I still absolutely love, so I will still use as I revive this pairing.

Skylor noticed when a Nindroid moved into the abandoned shop just down the block from her, she decided to leave the other alone. Especially if they were planning on opening a business, the Nindroid would be plenty busy rebuilding the place

Then of all people, Doctor Cyrus Borg showed up at her restaurant covered in grease and dust a mask around his neck and the Nindroid beside him, the pair laughing at something as they entered. The Nindroid was pretty with medium gray hair tied back, even with paint splattered throughout and even on her facial plates

"Welcome to Master Chens Noodle House." She found herself tumbling into her usual spiel they both smiled as they waved going to a booth as she decided to go on over

The pair had already a few things from the belt, their heads turning at her intrusion,

"Sorry Mr Borg don't mean to intrude, but I noticed thus one moving down into the old Store down the road. Curiosity got me and wished to meet my new neighbor,"

He gave her a grin,

"Oh, that's perfectly fine to me! It makes me happy that she's being welcomed so warmly."

The Nindroid nodded a soft smile on her face,

"It makes me happy as well," she agreed before holding hr hand out I am Jennifer, the 15th P.I.X.A.L."

Skylor accepted it, smiling back,

"Nice to meet you, I'm Skylor Chen. May I call you Jenny?"

"Of course it is what those close to me call me, and I have a feeling we are going to be close. I have big hopes to restart this district, make this place a hub of good food and entertainment."

Skylor beamed Jennifer, returning the same smile

"I love to hear that! You and I share the same ideal, if I may put a bug in your ear the place you are renovating used to be the local bakery,"

Cyrus gave a playful look as he took a bite of his bowl of noodles, Jennifer responding

"Then it's a good thing it's being turned into a cafe,"

"That makes me happy to hear. The local college kids will swarm it so I'd have a nook for them to tuck themselves in. " She motioned to her restaurants own a giant booth filled with young adults"Well I will leave you both to eat I would say it's on the house but knowing Mr Borg he'd slip a 100$ into the tip jar like last time"

She heard Jenny laugh as her fathers face went red as the woman went back to the kitchen

Skylor began seeing more of the Nindroid around sometimes with others she theorized were other family members, they began sitting down on the days Jennifer was on her own and the Noodle House was in a lull

Sorry that everything's super scattered rn, I'm not one to do things in order with this kinda stuff lmao but I will give some fun facts that I haven't really talked about publicly as much :D

I was kind of agonizing over some timeline stuff, specifically how Echo Zane was gonna work if he's also Mr. E (which he is in this AU) until my @rottedsoulx suggested Jay find Echo in Chen's room of collectibles, so I might be doing some stuff with those two hehe

Jay likes axolotls because I like axolotls so I kind of just assign axolotl to whoever my favorite character in a piece of media is

Jay has a v-tuber skin that looks like Superstar Rockin' Jay that he gets Cole to make him

He's still an inventor! He bonds with Nya and Pixal that way

As it currently stands, Skybound doesn't get completely undone by Jay's final wish so Jay has to actually RECOVER from his injuries. The ninja all buy him a bunch of plushies during his recovery

No one thought Jay and Morro would click as well as they did and they all get kinda jealous that Jay latched onto Morro the moment they met

Jay hasn't lived with people since he was 8 years old so he has to learn and relearn a bunch of social conventions and how to do things like laundry and dishes and such

Jaya Week 2023 Day 4: Promise

I DID IT! I know I'm a day behind and I'm so so sorry, but after what happened yesterday I was just really shaken up and I didn't feel comfortable posting this until the anon was gone. Also, I was so frustrated at being told what I could and couldn't post that I decided to add an additional 1500 words to this out of pure spite (my spite is so much stronger now that I have to reupload this). I originally had a different idea for this day, but after seeing how many people loved the pregnant stuff I did for Day 3, I changed my mind! Hope you guys like it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

TWs: uhh general stuff that comes with childbirth, blood warning, kinda death warning not really, warning for women in labor, obligatory warning that if anyone doesn't like seeing pregnant women in a positive light do not read

“Hi there, little ones,” Jay cooed, feeling up and down Nya’s now very pregnant belly, “you’ve been giving Mama a lot of trouble today, you know that?”

“Jay,” Nya giggled, still not quite used to the feeling of something kicking inside of her, “cut it out. You’re making them excited, and excited means they kick!”

“Is that a bad thing?” but Jay relented, pressing two final kisses to her belly before standing back up and giving her a kiss instead. He was careful about wrapping her up in a hug, very aware of the precious cargo that she was carrying. Nya sighed, relaxing into her Yin’s hold and letting him rock them back and forth.

She listened to his heartbeat with her head on his shoulder; Jay always had a vaguely irregular heart rhythm because of his lightning, and at this point Nya had heard it so much that it sounded like a song one would put on the radio at the end of a long day. Jay rubbed circles into the small of her back, trying to relieve some of the pressure of the weight that her poor back had already been carrying for the better part of seven months.

Things had been quite busy around the monastery since Nya had learned she was pregnant. All of the boys had been doing their damndest to help her out, with Cole being an absolute sweetheart and waiting on her hand and foot when Jay wasn’t there to do it, along with Kai and Lloyd. Lloyd and Kai had also gone through the whole place to babyproof it (carefully checked by Pixal), and Zane had downloaded as much knowledge about anything to do with parenting ast he could. Pixal, when she wasn’t trying to make sure the others weren’t burning the house down with their efforts, was carefully designing toys and devices and baby monitors and other very fancy technology that Nya’s pregnancy-addled brain couldn’t wrap itself around. She would do her best to find out what everything did after she gave birth.

But the real star of the show had been Jay, as per usual. He had been running himself ragged transforming what had been his old room into the perfect nursery, building cribs completely from scratch and painting the whole thing a very light shade of blue. Nya had been a little concerned when she stepped in one day to find him about to swing a sledgehammer into the wall, but Jay had explained that it was only to make space for a window so the babies could have some natural light.

Nya didn’t know why she was so attracted to this silly man until she saw him take the first swing, muscles rippling, and then everything made perfect sense.

He had only built one crib at first, because that had been all they were expecting. Imagine their surprise when the ultrasound at their next appointment revealed that they were having TWINS!

Jay had to make the call to everyone else while Nya held onto his arm, sobbing her heart out onto the sleeve of his jacket. She was mortified when she finally got ahold of herself, but Jay had just kissed the top of her head and told her that she could keep crying if she needed to.

She did. For a long time afterwards.

The sound of Jay humming brought her back into the present, and Nya let her swollen feet rest on top of his so he could start walking them around the room in a strange waltz. Jay pressed a tender kiss to the side of her head, whispering in her ear, “everything okay, love?”

Was everything okay? They were scheduled to head into the hospital tomorrow for a c-section; it was the safest option and Nya wanted the absolute best for her little ones. She and Jay had elected to keep their genders secret until they had been born, but they already had names picked out and ready for whatever they turned out to be. In all honesty, the two were probably as prepared as new parents could be, and yet Nya still felt a little uneasy.

“I’m worried,” she confessed, and Jay didn’t say anything for a minute. His hands started tracing her spine, going up and down in a soothing pattern.

“Yeah, I am too,” he said, “but it’s going to be okay.”

Nya’s arms tightened around his waist. “Do you think we’re ready?”

“I don’t think anyone can ever be ready for something like this. But I promise you, Nya, that you’re going to be a great mom. I’m here for you and I’m not going anywhere.”

She opened her mouth to respond, suddenly overwhelmed with emotion, when a sharp pain rolled through her gut. Nya groaned, bending over as much as she could in his hold. Ignoring Jay’s cry of alarm, she cried out, feeling her muscles contract to a pain level high enough to make her vision white out.

“What’s wrong?” Jay asked urgently, the only thing keeping her standing, “Nya, what’s wrong? Do we need to go to the hospital?”

Her nails dug into his shirt, and both of them stilled when there was a sound of something plopping onto the floor with a wet splat.

Oh First Master, she was in labor.

“I’ve got you, I’ve got you,” Jay kept repeating, gently lowering her to the floor. Nya sobbed, clutching onto the front of his shirt as her stomach felt like it was going to turn itself inside out. Jay was panicking. “I don’t think I’m strong enough to carry you down the stairs!”

“Ah! Get Cole!” Nya spit out, pushing him away. “Get Cole!”

Jay ran out of the room, yelling his best friend’s name as he went. Pixal popped her head in after he ran out, immediately crouching next to her and giving the water ninja her hand. Nya squeezed it tightly with another cry of pain.

Pixal brushed the hair out of her face. “Don’t worry, Nya, Cole is on his way. We’re getting you to the hospital.”

“I’m here!” Cole yelled, running into the room with Jay right on his heels. Pixal showed him how to pick Nya up, and he hoisted her into the air with barely any effort. Jay had been making himself useful and clearing the path out of the monastery, now trotting alongside the earth ninja as he ran through the building as carefully as he could.

“You have to be twice as careful, Cole!” Jay was warning, and Nya could’ve slapped him silly. “Those are my kids you’re handling!”

“I know, Jay!”

“Boys!” Nya said harshly, digging her fingers into Cole’s shoulder as another contraction overtook her. “Can you shut the hell up and get me out of here?!”

“Yes ma’am.” They both quickly said, and Nya had barely any time to feel the satisfaction between the muscle spasms.

Thankfully, Pixal had a good head on her shoulders, pre-preparing a vehicle to get Nya to the hospital as fast as possible. Going down the monastery stairs was a special kind of hell for the water ninja, and she was very close to passing out from the contraction pains when Cole finally put her in the front seat.

It was only a couple hours later when Nya was laying in one of the hospital beds, strangling the life out of Jay’s hand; she could see the tips of his fingers turning black and blue from her grip cutting off his blood flow. He didn’t complain though, instead taking his other hand and smoothing her hair out of her sweaty face.

“I am going to put a knife through your eye for doing this to me,” Nya seethed, tears running down her face. “Jay Edward Walker, you will be lucky to walk out of this room alive!”

“Absolutely, whatever you say, dear,” Jay said calmly, cupping her face and pressing a kiss to her forehead. “You’re okay, Nya, you’re okay.”

He watched as the doctor came into the room with a couple nurses, walking right up to the foot of the bed where his Yang was exposed. The doctor gave them both a kind smile, and Jay did his best to give him the same thing.

Snapping on his gloves, the doctor took a look, putting on a serious expression. “Alright, miss, you’re pretty far along already so a good few pushes should be all that’s needed to get the first baby out. We can reassess the need for surgery after the first birth-”

“I am NOT having surgery after this!” Nya yelled. “Where the hell is my epidural?!”

“Did the nurse not give you any?” the doctor asked, and Nya could’ve popped a blood vessel.

“No!”

“We’ll get you some soon, sweetie,” one of the nurses said in a sickly sweet voice, and Nya could feel the water pressure building in the pipes as her anger rose. She wordlessly pointed to a small bracelet that Jay had left on the floor, and he understood.

Putting it on was the easy part; the hard part was the instant suppression of her powers, and Nya gasped for air as she felt it shoved forcibly back, caged. It hurt a little, but it was ultimately the best option unless she wanted to birth her children directly into a small lake.

“So, change of plans,” the doctor said amicably, and Nya could already tell that she was going to hate whatever was going to come out of his mouth, “it turns out that there isn’t time for an epidural. You’re doing this birth completely natural!”

Nya opened her mouth, and instead of the scathing remark she had planned she gave a short scream in pain. Jay’s hand was squeezed even tighter as she buried her face in his shoulder, sobbing. Her abdomen felt like it was on fire, and Jay was doing his best to comfort her and listen to the nurses at the same time.

One of them was telling him that he had to leave the room and Nya’s heart plummeted. She shook her head no, keeping Jay close. He wasn’t leaving her like this.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Jay said solemnly. “I’m right here, Nya. I’m staying right here, no matter what, I promise. You’re doing amazing.”

“I can see a head!” the doctor exclaimed, and Jay was quick to take a peek. Nya saw the way his face paled instantly, and watched as her Yin swayed on his feet.

She growled. “Don’t you dare faint on me, Jay Walker!”

Jay swallowed thickly. “Not planning on it.”

“Keep pushing, miss,” the nicer nurse said from Nya’s other side, “you’re almost there! Push!”

Nya pushed, alright. She kept going in time with whatever the nurse was saying, spurred on by Jay’s encouragement and praise. As embarrassing as it was, Nya couldn’t stop herself from crying, keeping her face in Jay’s shoulder so the other people wouldn’t have to see her tears. It was bad enough that she couldn’t contain her sobs.

All it took was one final push and the pressure relieved itself, Nya collapsing heavily against Jay as all of her strength left. Jay was stroking her hair, kissing away the tear tracks on her face and doing his best to get feeling back in his poor hand.

But something was wrong.

Dizziness threw her vision into disarray, and suddenly she was clutching onto Jay for a very different reason than giving birth. “Jay, Jay, something’s wrong.”

“What?” Jay asked, puzzled, and he turned to see the doctor turn as white as the sheets. “What’s wrong? What’s happening?”

It took just one look at the sheets under Nya to see what was wrong. The sterile white was quickly being turned crimson by blood at an alarming rate, and Jay couldn’t breathe. He barely even got to see the baby before the nurse was rushing it out of the room. Nya was trying to say something to him, but the only person he could focus on was the doctor reaching for some tools on the side table next to him.

“What’s wrong with her?” Jay asked urgently, squeezing Nya’s hand back and holding her close.

The other man grit his teeth. “She’s crashing is what’s happening!”

“Crashing?!” Jay whipped his head around to Nya. “Nya, Nya, you need to listen to me. You’re going to be fine, okay? I promise everything is going to be okay, I just need you to hold on for me. Can you do that?”

“Jay,” Nya whispered, and Jay’s heart stopped with how weak her voice sounded, “I love you, I love you so so much-”

“Stop it.” he said angrily. “No. No. You’re going to be fine. You hear me, Nya? Everything’s going to be okay.”

She tried to let his words give her some strength, but it wasn’t enough to keep her eyes open. The last thing she heard before she passed out was the rolling of a crash cart, accompanied by Jay’s frantic reassurances and the feel of his lips against hers.

Waking up was an experience. Her head was pounding like someone was striking a hammer against her skull, and her mouth was as dry as the desert where Jay had grown up. Feeling around her mouth with her thickened tongue, Nya opened her eyes, squinting. She immediately noted the time difference; it had barely been noon when they had arrived at the hospital, and now it looked well after sunset. The sun’s rays were still shining but only barely, glinting off of the metal equipment in the room.

There was an odd pressure on her arm, and Nya could feel her heart melting when she looked down to see her Yin fast asleep. He was drooling onto the now clean sheets, grasping at her hand, carefully avoiding the I.V. line that she was hooked up to (when had that happened?), and Nya giggled. She tried to take her arm back, only for Jay to tighten his hold and snuggle it closer.

“Jay,” she said softly, stroking across his cheekbone with her thumb, “it’s to wake up now, dear.”

“Five more minutes,” he groaned, and Nya could only sigh as she kept stroking with her thumb, tracing his cheekbone and down his jaw to wipe away the trail of drool leaking out.

“I think it’s been a little longer than five minutes, honey.”

She watched as his eyes slowly started to blink open, still heavy with sleep. The blue was deep and dark; his eyes tended to get brighter when he had more energy. Jay yawned, sitting up properly and lazily stretching his back to hear it give a nice pop.

He never let go of her hand, only taking it so he could kiss her palm. “Good morning.”

Nya raised an eyebrow. “I don’t think it’s morning, Jay.”

“Hmm?” he hummed, and finally he seemed to realize what was happening. “Nya! You’re awake!”

The water ninja was not prepared for her Yin to shoot forward and wrap her in a crushing hug, one hand going around her waist and the other tangling itself in her hair. Nya hugged him back, kissing his neck when she felt tears start to soak through the hospital gown from where he had tucked his face into her shoulder.

“You’re okay,” she soothed, rubbing his back in smooth motions, “you’re okay, Jay. I’m okay.”

“B-but you almost weren’t!” Jay sobbed, “I could’ve lost you!”

“I’m not going anywhere, love.” she said firmly, and then it hit her.

She had been in labor.

She was clearly no longer in labor.

Where were her children?!

“Where are the kids?” she asked urgently, not meaning to be so rough when she pushed him away, “Where are my kids?!”

“They had to go to the ICU,” Jay explained, “after they had to perform surgery to get him out. It-it was pretty scary. Here, I’ll call the nurse and tell her you’re awake so we can see them-”

Nya grabbed his arm when he started to get up. “Wait! What did we have?”

Jay gave her a watery smile. “A boy and a girl, just like you said we would.”

“Kai owes me a hundred bucks,” Nya said smugly. Jay chuckled, pushing down another watery sob as he left the room to find the nurse. She wasn’t left alone for very long; Jay must’ve said something, because soon the rest of her family was filing into the small hospital room.

Her big bad older brother had clearly been crying too, even if he was trying not to show it. Lloyd looked tired, like he had just run a marathon at four in the morning, and Cole didn’t look much better on his other side. Nya shook her head, smiling; these were her idiot brothers alright. Did they really think she was going to go out like that? Without even saying hello to her kids?

“C’mere guys,” she said as cheerfully as she could, holding out her arms. The boys piled in without hesitating, even though she could tell that they were still trying to be careful with her. That was totally fair: she had just given birth to a child, almost died from blood loss and had a major abdominal surgery in what she assumed was a four hour window.

Zane and Pix held back at first, waiting until Cole and Kai had pulled away before going in. Nya appreciated the sentiment. Lloyd kept hugging her well after everyone else had had their fill, and she was all too happy to hold him close and kiss the top of his blond locks while his shoulders shook with hidden emotion.

Lloyd gave her a stern look when he finally stepped back, making a beeline for the hard plastic chair on Kai’s other side and leaning his head on his older brother’s shoulder. “You’re never allowed to scare us like that again, you hear me? Never.”

Nya shrugged. “Hey, I didn’t ask to have a hemorrhage. At least, I’m assuming that’s what happened, right?”

“That is correct,” Pixal said, “although I agree with Lloyd. You cannot give us a scare like that.”

“You’re lucky Cole was here,” Kai said quietly. “He helped give you a transfusion.”

Cole looked sheepish when she turned to thank him, rubbing the back of his head. “Don’t mention it, seriously. What else are brothers for, right?”

“Also I would’ve killed him in his sleep if he hadn’t done anything,” Jay said jovially, walking back into the room with a new pep in his step. Nya could hear something rattling behind him, and watched in amazement as the two nurses from earlier rolled in two odd-looking incubators, each holding a baby.

Her babies. Jay’s babies. Their babies.

“Nya,” Jay said softly, “meet our two amazing and wonderful kiddos: Elizabeth and Noah Walker.”

“C-Can I hold them?”

Of course, the nurses told her, already making the preparations for her to do so, Nya felt the tears coming before she could stop them, and in an instant Jay was there to wipe them away.

Kai stood up to help, and Nya looked at the baby girl (her daughter) placed in her arms with absolute awe. She was so little, Nya noted, with only a couple scraps of brown hair on the top of her head. Jay helped her to support the baby’s head, and Nya watched as she curled her tiny hands into fists. With instincts that she didn’t even know she possessed, Nya let her hospital gown fall off of her shoulder, uncaring of who saw her do so.

It only took a second for the baby to start suckling. The tears in her eyes started coming even faster, and Nya leaned into Kai’s side once he had wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

“I made this?” she said faintly, cupping the baby’s head. She couldn’t believe that something so soft and precious could’ve ever been born from their rough and tumble lifestyle. More of her heart melted when the baby’s hand wrapped itself around her finger.

“You made her, alright,” Kai said warmly, placing his hand under Nya’s to support the baby’s head, “and she’s perfect.”

“My little spark,” Nya whispered, pressing a kiss to the baby’s forehead. “I’m so glad to meet you, Tessa.”

Jay walked over with the other baby, her little boy. He took after Jay far more than Tessa did, with a mop of curly brown hair so dark that it was almost black and the makings of Jay’s signature grin. Cole and Zane were both cooing over Noah, with Cole giving the boy his finger to play with. Jay had tears in his eyes just like she did, and she could taste them as they fell down his face and into their kiss.

“Hey Nya?” Jay said quietly.

“Yes, Jay?”

“I know we’ve made a lot of stuff over the years, but I think they’re the best thing we could’ve ever created. I can promise you that.”
