Anyways here's my Overlord Angel Dust AU, the main idea is basically what would happen if Angel killed Val and took his place as overlord but was gonna try and fix the industry because he knows personally what it's like to be exploited by the industry. I've got a fic in the works and I'm very excited about it because it's gonna explore some of my theories about Angel Dust (and the other characters) from when they were alive, which I will upload separately because I have full theories crafted as to some of the things that happened to them in life with Nifty, Husk and Angel Dust being the ones I have decent ideas for. Also I will eventually upload my redesigns of the characters because as a bug lover Nifty drives me UP THE WALL, as a person with eyes Alastor and Charlie drive me up the wall and Vaggie and Lucifer had SO MUCH potential and they're just.... yeah.

Okay so I've had this idea in my head since I watched Sons of Garmadon for the first time while Mystake was telling the story of the Oni and the Dragon and its: What if they had made Wu the oni and Garmadon the dragon. Now I know you're probably like "What? How would that even make sense if they did that?" And I have an answer!

So basically in this hypothetical situation if they had made Wu the oni and Garmadon the dragon I think it would have been an interesting case of nature vs nurture. Like what if the FSM had seen Garmadon was like oh he's a dragon so he'll naturally be good and then focused more of his attention on Wu instead. I just think it would be so neat if the FSM literally had to watch the child that he thought was going to be good by nature end up jacked up being of chaos while the son he thought was gonna be a problem ends up being like the beacon of order.

And just image Wu telling the ninja and how they'd react! Like them learning their teacher was supposed to be a being of chaos and all that kind of stuff. Idk if someone wants to write an AU or something about that let mem know cause I'd read the hell out of it.

Ninjago 13th Anniversary!

I know I'm a LITTLE late to the party but here are the beloved RGB siblings (I think that's what they're called), I originally was gonna do the og 4 ninja meeting their current selves but ended up realizing I didn't have the energy so instead you get the Smiths + Lloyd!

BTW these are designs for roughly around season 5 and a little after season 6 back when they're still teens, Nya has a more tech wear style now along with some tattoos cause of getting turned into the ocean, Lloyd is less dorky and more professional/older due to taking his uncles role and Kai is kinda the same but has some tattoos and doesn't wear skinny jeans anymore lol!

Also I don't think I've ever mentioned it here before but I honestly love how out of all the characters I think Kai and Nya reflect their past and their childhoods really well. Kai is really protective and feels a need to be the best and be there for people due to having to pretty much raise Nya. Nya feels the need to be self sufficient and good at everything immediately probably because she didn't want to put more stress on Kai. I have way more to say about them but that's for another post.

Anyway happy anniversary Ninjago you've lasted longer than the Great Depression!

pspspsps hey sorry I've been gone I've been having one of these things called: a medical problem, yeah again but nonetheless I still present yall with some content. Here is my absolute favorite LMK character: the bad ankle man himself Tang.

I adore Tang because the man is just like me fr (bad ankles and a solid case of burnt out gifted kid syndrome in my opinion) I've actually done a whole thing where I figured out what was wrong with Tang's ankles, but this is my first time drawing him properly. He really doesn't get enough love from the fandom despite being quite literally the first person to speak and being there consistently from the first episode onwards. One day I WILL figure out how to draw Pigsy and draw freenoodles cause they're such an old married couple and I adore them.

Alright folks guess who's back with more songs for you AND a playlist with them!

I've been having fun with this and I love talking about why I associate certain songs with certain characters I love doing it and I really do wish I was able to do animatics myself. But any who here are more songs! (Song-artist)

AS ALWAYS MAJOR SPOILERS

Violet- Marianne Ross: This song is SOOOOO Lloyd thinking about Harumi (I will in fact ignore Crystalized existence again), like it's all about thinking about someone who hurt you deeply and still thinking of them even though they treated you poorly. Lyrics: "When I think of violet I think of you I see you tryin got make is cool" Harumi trying to justify herself to Lloyd. "My mind reminds me of a purple hue, matched the sight of another bruise" Do I have to say more? Like Lloyd clearly cared about Harumi and she emotionally and physically beat the shit outta him

Like a Villain- Bad Omens: This song could totally be used for Morro or Garmadon in my opinion, the song is about someone talking to a person who unknowingly or not pushed them past the edge of no return. Lyrics: "Look into my face then look again we're not the same we're different" For Garmadon this could be a representation of the Great Devourer taking over his mind and transforming him and for Morro this could his transformation from a starry eyes kid to a depressed and evil ghost. "You need a new clean slate with out the dents" This could be either of them addressing Wu cause lets be honest neither of them have an all to peachy relationship with him, Morro especially who saw Wu with this new set of Ninja who are happier than he ever was who Wu treated like family while pretending Morro never existed. "I know that you tried your hardest I know that you meant well but you pushed me to the edge and I slipped and then I fell" For Morro this could totally be Wu's intense training and the way he made Morro believe he'd be the green ninja only for that to be false which kinda drove him crazy, or it could be used for Garmadon on him and Wu's journey in Spinjitzu Brothers to find the tea to heal Garmadon while the journey was supposed to get something to heal Garmadon it ended up just making him feel worse about himself and his place in the world. There's a bunch more awesome lyrics but we'd be here all day if I explained all of them.

Fourth of July- Sufjan Stevens: This one is a teny tiny bit of a reach but hear me out. Zane and his father. So we know that Dr. Julien passes away sometime I believe before season three takes place and it's said he died of natural causes and I'm just saying this could make a pretty decent song since I feel like Zane and Dr. Julien's really sweet father son relationship gets over looked a bit probably since he died so early on and we didn't get to see Zane mourn much afterwards. Lyrics: "And I'm sorry I left but it was for the best" Could totally be used for when Dr. Julien turned off his memory switch and everything. I don't have many particular phrases since the song is almost like a back and forth, but there are a lot of bird references which also works well for Zane.

Icarus-Luvbug: Now this could work for a couple different Ninjago parents since it's mostly about losing a child but I think it would work best with either the FSM feeling bad for what happened to Garmadon (if you want to make him less awful that is cause in cannon his feels about Garmadon are... slightly concerning like sir you're not supposed to hate your own child) Garmadon feeling bad about how Lloyd had to "kill" the child part of himself to lead the ninja, or Maya after Nya merged with the sea and how she wanted to badly to be there for her only for her to end up gone.

Little Lion Man- Mumford & sons: Misako and Lloyd, just trust me okay? Like it's all about someone blaming themselves how someone turned out and in a better world we would have gotten Misako canonically feeling awful for how Lloyd's childhood went due to the fact she decided to dump him gods know where (Darkly's is a boarding school and Lloyd doesn't remember his mother when he meets her so I'm assuming he was probably somewhere else before there?) but instead I'll settle for fan interpretation and I feel like this song would make a great Misako animatic. "But it was not your fault but mine, and it was your heart on the line" and "Now learn from your mother or else spend you days biting your own neck" and "Tremble for yourself, my man, you know that you have seen this all before"

Sorry the list is a little shorter this time but honestly sometimes I don't have full explanations for songs I just have like general vibes, like my excuse is literally just: trust, with little to no explanation. Like:

So I have like a bunch of songs and animatic ideas for the Ninjago fandom to do what they please with, cause chronic hand pain makes long projects like animatics kinda hard so instead I'm throwing them out to yall! (Song-artist)

SOPILERS FOR LITERALLY EVERYHTING RELATING TO NINJAGO (This includes Dragons rising, the spinjitzu brothers books and the Garmadon comics)

Also please remember this is for fun so be nice.

Survivors Guilt- Coma Cinema: Okay oaky so hear me out: eldest child angst. This could work for both Garmadon and Kai, because both of them are just SUCH older siblings in more than just the literal way you know? Like I think it fits especially with Garmadon because it's about feeling like you're a bad person and how it might fuck up someone else life in the process. To me I think it fits, cause like to me it's so clear Garmadon is the elder sibling TM and Wu is the stressed out younger sibling golden child. Lyrics: "And I don't care and I don't know why maybe I'm no good inside" the way this totally works for how Garmadon tries to act like he doesn't care in Spinjitzu Brothers but is like constantly stressed about whether or not he's a good person.

Seven Nation Army- The White Stripes: I don't have like any major reasons for this song other than it being SUPER Wyldfyre/Kai core lol (at least in the early seasons before he mellowed out a bit), like the song is literally someone sing about how they feel like how they could take on armies if necessary so take that as you will!

Viper- Derivakat: For starters I didn't know this was a Minecraft song until I went to look up the lyrics buuuuuuut oh well mine now! Could definitely be used for either the Great Devourer or the Serpentine, but I think it be cool if someone used the song for the Great Devourer and the venoms effect on Garmadon and how it really kinda fucked up his life. I think it'd just be neat. Lyrics: "Run, run, run as fast as you can out of the fire and into my hand" (Could def be used for Garmadon and the Great Devourer or Pythor and Lloyd) "Abandon your pride cause you've dug your own grave" and "Getting all up in your head make you lose your mind again" (Again would work pretty great for Garmadon or season one Lloyd and Pythor)

The Well- The Crane Wives: Now this song is perfect for season 6 Jay in my opinion since it's got some wish related lyrics which work well for the Nadakan plot, plus people getting "dragged down" could be the other ninja getting absorbed into the sword. I'm not to big on this season or Jay but even I can tell this song works WELL for him (get it well? I'll see myself out). Lyrics: "Like spare coins, poised on the tip of my tongue I make a wish and hold my breath" This could not only be the making wishes part but also Jay getting "spare coins" aka his bio fathers money and house after he dies, "I'm the well they're gonna drag you down" again this could be used for the ninja being dragged into the sword "All the words I couldn't say to you" His pinning over Nya obviously. And lastly "I taste blood I'm sick of swallowing stones" Could be his trauma after Nadakan is defeated or when he was beat up in the fight thing.

Viva La Vida (But epic)- Reinaeiry (I just like this version best but any works): Could totally work for Lloyd post merge, him being lonely in this new world and forced to be a hero in the shadows. Y'all could also probably do something with the FSM but like I'm not exactly sure what. This one's a little more for the vibes tbh.

Parasite- Set It Off: When I tell yall this is great for Harumi and Lloyd, like it'd work so well as a song for her trying to manipulate and twist his mind. The name says it all it's literally telling someone they'd wished they'd never been born and that they don't help society, sound like anyone familiar? Also if y'all just want a song for like a villain arch for Lloyd this would also probably work tbh. Lyrics: "Leeching off my pain never satisfied" Totally could work for Harumi being mean and manipulative or Lloyd getting angry and being honest with her. "Strike a nerve or wreck a home hoping you get a response" This could totally be used literally cause of Harumi's whole... you know dead parent situation.

Matilda- Harry Styles: I know I know what you're saying, Harry Styles? But I promise this song is actually wonderful. This could work RIDICOULOUSLY well for Sora. The song is a lot about how you can go on to live a life and you don't have to include your bioparents or family in it if you don't want to which is SO Sora. Like I feel like all the lyrics work well for how Imperium and her parents drained her and I just love it! Then second you could also view this as kind of a Cole song. I know the fandom is kind of split on whether or not him and his father really make up and I'm gonna be honest I don't really think they do. Unlike Jay, Zane, Lloyd as well as Kai and Nya to an extent (once they get their parents back) all at least interact with their parents and clearly have somewhat of a relationship with them (Kai and Nya less so but they have the excuse of being adults by the time they get their parents back). Cole on the other hand doesn't really have the same thing, like he has the episode where he makes up with his father but after that Lou doesn't really have many other major appearances so I think they're on good terms but not that close ya know? Idk just my opinion lol. Unrelated but the song is honestly so eldest daughter-core and I just wanted to mention that.

Okay so while I do art there's only so much my chronic pain ridden hands can produce and so animatics/animations aren't really in my wheelhouse BUT I have a bunch of ideas and songs that the Ninjago fandom should use + some ideas that yall can totally use (@ me or send them to me though if you do cause I want to see them)

The Songs in question (it's be song-artist btw):

Always Gold-Radical Face: Is literally a perfect song for Wu and Garmadon, like it's literally about two opposite brothers treading wildly different paths like what more could you want

Brutus- The Buttress: Yall please I am begging that someone does something with this song relating to Morro's hatred/jealousy towards Lloyd because this song is absolutely perfect for it! Lines such as "-and if you want I'll call you king but why do I lie awake each night thinking "instead of you it should be me"" and "Please know my actions are not motivated only by envy, I to have a destiny" there are so many more but I'll let yall do the rest of the work (Also you could kinda do it with Wu and Garmadon but ehhhh)

Human Enough- ONR: This could work for multiple of the characters if you ask me but if you ship anyone with Zane or Pixal the song could totally work those two them specifically cause it talks about the singers partner/love interest being "made perfect" and idk we need more Pixal content soooo. Honestly any of the characters that get de-human-ed (for longer than one episode) would do great with this song, like Cole in his ghost arc, Nya after Seabound or Garmadon at like any point in the story. Line examples: "Cause you are made of perfect stars and I was built from broken parts" and "I'm not human enough to love yo right now/ I'm not human enough to cry or cry for" are my personal favorites.

Laplace's Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!)-Will Wood: Lloyd, Sora or Wu (Specifically the young version of him from the Spinjitzu Brothers books) song about the weight of the world being on your shoulders and not knowing what to do and like the consequences of actions and fun stuff like that

Easier- Crane Wives: Misako, like seriously so many Crane Wives songs work well for this woman because A) her whole attempt to change destiny or B) Her failure as a mother and you know the whole kinda cheating on her husband thing, but this one specifically cause it's a song about leaving someone behind and feeling bad while also not being able to stay. Lyrics such as "If you woke and I was gone from the house that we made our home would it bend yo, break you, overtake your heart?" and "I won't move but I can't stay here. So what the hell am I supposed to do?" and "If I were someone else, would this be easier?"

Stranglers Fig- This could definitely be a Cole (specifically relating to his father and dance backstory) or Kai song, many of the lyrics involve someone being pushed to do more and more and finally snapping because they've done everything they can and there's nothing left but their desire to be better. Lyrics "You bult your kingdom around me, now I'm trapped within your walls and all I want is to be free" and "Climb me to the canopy, higher, higher 'till there's nothing left of me." and "You're the culprit so don't blame me."

Ugh Spinjitzu Brothers continues to haunt my little autistic brain. I think at this point it's so obvious that Garmadon is my favorite character, like I'm sorry I'm a sucker for "doomed by the narrative but even after the narrative gets them they still try to fight it", this is a wonderful transition into my next point lol:

Was Garmadon fighting the Great Devourer his ENTIER life after he got bit? It seems like it judging from the 4th Spinjitzu Brothers book where he's clearly becoming more paranoid and stressed and all that. And we know he sides with Wu and everyone for a LONG time, he trains with Chen for a while but then goes back to his brothers side when it comes down to it and since Lloyd is at the VERY least 5 years younger than most of the ninja (biologically? Timeline-wise? Idk man) so Garmadon had to have stuck around long enough to marry Misako and have a kid only then did he end up turning evil.

So yeah bro was fighting for a while and even after he gives in he's still actively encouraging his son NOT to follow in his foot steps and sorta helping the ninja (the writers have said in the og seasons he was meant to be more of an anti-hero than a full blown villain you can google it) and even when he's supposed to be fully evil he's still trying to be good CHOUGH COUGH THE GARMADON COMICS THAT ARE CANNON COUGH COUGH

Anyways turns out this was all just a big advertisement (that's a joke) I made a kinda roll swap AU. Garmadon still gets bit (cause it makes things more interesting) but Wu and Garmadon end up in each others positions (eventually) with Garmadon teaching the Ninja and Wu running a sort of army. There's a bunch of build up cause I'm having fun writing backstory based off the snippets of lore we get about their childhood. Honestly I'm just having fun at this point so yeah: Divine destiny

[Before we begin remember this is all for the funsies so be nice]

But in all seriousness I do have many opinions about Morro and his impact on the show and ESPECIALLY on Wu as a character and how we view him. Because yes I do have an English teacher essay for everything lol, anyway moving on.

So Morro is such a complicated character because Young!Morro is very tragic: An orphan who was taken in by a son of this worlds version of GOD and told he was special, shows great promise and potential training his entire childhood for a roll he's been told he's made to fit. Finally the day comes that he's meant to assume his destiny and... nothing, everything he'd ever done and worked for had been for nothing. He's told everything he's ever been told and ever done has been for nothing. And so obviously he doesn't accept this fact doing more and more dangerous stuff until eventually it ends up getting him killed. Which is pretty depressing seeing Morro seemingly wasn't that old when he died.

We obviously know all the stuff he did when he was a ghost, he was a fucking asshole AT BEST a monster at worst. I am NOT excusing the shit he did or saying it was good it wasn't it was reprehensible and awful, but I do kind of understand the mentality he had. He see's this random ass kid get EVERYTHING he ever wanted without trying (we know Lloyd didn't get it without hardship but Morro doesn't) so it's not much of a surprise that he hates Lloyd. Morro is also a pretty good foil/parallel to Lloyd, both were abandoned at a young age before being taken in (by the same person mind you), both trained as children and "lost their childhood" in different ways and both were told they were destined to be the green ninja (only for one that you know wasn't true)

And it's really interesting to me that in the end Morro's death (idk what else to call it) was pretty much a suicide. He gave up. "You can only save those who want to be saved." Were his exact words which are pretty depressing, it's his admittance of final defeat. It's a pretty fitting end for his character, one steeped in a mixture of evil and bad circumstance, after all Wu calls Morro his greatest mistake for a reason.

Honestly Morro is a character I have such mixed feelings on, like i hate him but I also feel kinda bad for him. He make Wu a more interesting character cause we get to see the mistakes Wu makes, which in my opinion very much so mirror the FSM's mistakes with raising Wu and Garmadon. Honestly Wu and Morro are kind of an example of a cycle of bad parenting tbh. Wu was raised with high expectations and still never got his fathers approval (see Spinjitzu Brothers) and so when he was trying to raise Morro he set a high expectation (being the green ninja) and just like Wu Morro also tried to reach this goal he would never be able to achieve. I do NOT think Wu did this intentionally, but ingrained patterns and all that stuff.

I read Spinjitzu Brothers

(Remember kids before we start this is all for shits and giggles so lets be nice okay? Great! You may continue!)

So who was gonna tell me Spinjitzu Brothers was gonna mess with me or were yall just gonna let me get dragged through the dirt with ZERO warning!

So I kinda sorta binged all the books in a singular night and... damn the FSM is an ASSHOLE! Like idk, if this is controversial but like genuinely he just seems like a not-very-great dude, like Wu is constantly thinking of how he'll get his father's approval and Garmadon is literally spiraling into a depression fueled by a fear of loneliness and turning evil.

Honestly, I find the whole concept of Spinjitzu Brothers because it's a KIDS BOOK where are heroes ultimately fail. They're supposed to be Ninjago cannon accurate and well we KNOW what happens to Garmadon, we know ultimately he ends up giving in to the Great Devourer somewhere down the line. We know the tea doesn't work and that their trip is pointless, all this trauma and effort is really just for nothing.

I find stories like that fascinating, usually stories like this are very centered around destiny and how it's set in stone. Honestly I think Ninjago does use destiny a bit (I mean their ship is called the Destinies Bounty which is kinda funny) like how even thogh Garmadon and Wu are going on the quest it's ultimitly meaningless because Garmadon does in fact sucumb to his fate, he turns evil, fights his son, becomes good only to be broght back to life fully evil. But what I find so interesting is the fact he STILL is trying to be good, destiny is beating him over the head repeatedly trying to morph him into what it wants and he's still pushing it away which I think is neat.

Also I find it interesting how Wu and Morro kinda sorta parallel the FSM and Nineko, aka taking in a kid and training them but ultimately leaving them bitter and angry. Honestly Wu and Garmadon's parenting makes so much more sense after Spinjitzu Brothers, like their father sucked, so they tried to do better but didn't fully grasp HOW so they messed up and sort of stumbled through parenting.

Anyway I watched part 2 of dragons rising and... well holy shit. I'll probably write a whole review later but for now just know: I will be making fanart of (light spoliers): Sora cause I adore her, Wyldfire and Kai cause I love their dynamic and Cole and Geo cause like they're a couple right? Like we all agree that they had chemistry right? Also his name is fucking Geo and Cole is the element of earth it's perfect.
