Nastagio degli Onesti is the protagonist in one of the one hundred short stories contained in Boccaccio's Decameron. The 8th story of the 5th day, tells of the unrequited love of the nobleman Nastagio for a girl who will eventually be induced to accept Nastagio's affection by the appearance of a rejected lover and her beloved.

Nastagio failing to forget the girl, attempted suicide several times. Then, following the advice of friends and relatives, goes away to Ravenna.

Walking in a pine forest in early May, Nastagio sees a girl running naked in tears, hunted by a Knight and his two dogs. Nastagio tries to defend her, but the knight presents himself as Guido of Anastagi and tells of how he once loved the unresponsive woman before committing suicide. When the girl died without any regrets for the misery she had inflicted on her admirer, she was sentenced to being hunted and killed every Friday for as many years as the months of her rejection lasted [projected from Hell]

Nastagio understands the events to be of divine will and decides to prepare a lavish banquet in the same place, the following Friday. At the end of the dinner the horrifying scene is repeated with the same harrowing and pitiful consequences. With this he gets the desired effect: after the hunter once again explains the reasons for the girl's fate to all of those present at the dinner, the girl loved by Nastagio realizes she had stepped on the love felt by Nastagio and, for fear of suffering the same fate of the victim before her, she immediately agrees to marry Nastagio in Sunday.

Botticelli made a series of four episodes of the story, thought to have been commissioned by Lorenzo the Magnificent in 1483 as a gift to Giannozzo Pucci at his marriage to Lucrezia Bini of that year.

Edge oneshot is done!

Session 3 we got a new player to replace the one who died to wigwigs. New characterwas a an ex-leasguesmen from Undertown who had run away through the Twilight Woods andbbared the mental scars of that.

The party managed to fumble together the plan of heading to a cave but got ambushed on the way by fromps and with a little help of the Caterbird they lived. They then found a Slaughterer village and got very well fed and cared for before carrying on.

Eventually they came across a bloodoak and tarry vines - luckily no one was swallowed - but they worked out its weak to fire and literally started throwing torches in the mouth. Eventually they set it aflame and ran off as the tarry vines desperately tried to put it out. Only for 2 of the party to immediately fall down the air vents of a termagant trog cave.

After some deabte the other two followed in and eventually they met another little girl who looked remarkably like Keris the parties own small ginger kid who mysteriously was looking for a cave.

Unhookingly it turned out Keris was a termagant trog and decided to stay with her new sister and mother whilst the party was promptly sent out.

They then headed back to the clearing where Tem our ratbird guardian was going to meet their skyship and had a mediocre feast and rest before saying their goodbyes.

And that was it the oneshot was wrapped up and the two continuing characters has gotten passage on a skyship leaving later in the day.

#the edge chronicles #in onesty we finished a month ago #but ive been in the chaos of organising the long campagin #the writing wasnt too bad #but deciding a date everyone could do #then the chaos as one person left #and had to find a new #but all sorted now thankfully #so heres the last of that oneshot up
