i have had like 10 friends rec worm to me but nobody’s given me a good like, gist of its vibe and what its abt because ‘its best blind’, could u please give a like brief summary and vibe check of it 😭 it’s so long i dont wanna try and invest that much time without knowing much abt it
so, worm is a 1.7 million word long webserial written in 2010. 1.7 million words seems like a lot, but it was also written over a relatively short period of time, which means the writing style is very easy to parse--the ideas aren't without complexity, but the language itself isn't intimidatingly dense. you can get through it at a very decent pace. i agree with your friends that there are vast portions of worm that hit best when you're unspoiled, but the thing is that worm is long enough that giving you the basic plot pitch is in no way spoilers for any of the things that i wouldn't want to see spoiled for someone. i'm actually kind of baffled they're not telling you Any Thing, because it is in my estimation one of the best books i've ever read, but it also Needs a briefing before you get into it for like five different reasons. which i will now provide. i swear to god this is brief by my standards it's just that i am very thorough
worm is a story about superheroes and supervillains, set in a world where superpowers are traumagenic--rather than appearing randomly or innately, some people gain powers after a traumatizing event happens to them. the protagonist is taylor hebert, a 15yo girl who has the power to control insects and desperately wants to be a superhero. and then accidentally finds herself scouted by a team of teenage villains instead. who's to say how she's going to react to all that!
one of the most compelling things about worm is that the superpowers in it serve as visceral, hyper-literal metaphors for the trauma and traumatized coping mechanisms of the characters with those powers. each power is incredibly specific and thematically relevant to the person who has it, and it's incredibly interesting and evocative. it feels so natural and well-done that it comes off like how superpowers are just meant to be written.
the fact that superpowers stem from trauma also means that worm is fundamentally a narrative about trauma. specifically, about traumatized teenagers and the relationships they form as they cling together while struggling through growing up traumatized & mutually coping with an increasingly intriguing, intense, and far-reaching escalating plot. worm's depictions of trauma + mental illness--including unpalatable trauma responses, including traumatized characters who are allowed to be complicated and nuanced and messy while still receiving narrative respect--are deeply real-feeling and impactful, and they're placed in the context of a well-spun + engaging story.
i really do have to stress how excellent the character writing is. worm is fully deserving of being as long as it is. over the course of 1.7 million words of character development, the average reader's reaction to the main characters goes from "sorta interesting" to "okay, i want to see where this goes" to "augh...really likable" to "i am now on hands and knees crying and these characters are going to stick around in my brain forever." wildbow has incredible talent for efficiently conveying complicated, real-feeling, and viscerally evocative characterization. many of the interlude chapters (chapters written from the perspective of different characters other than taylor) are so interesting, fleshed-out, and emotionally affecting that they make you wish you could read an entire novel about just the side character being featured. with that level of characterization for just the side cast, it's not surprising that taylor (& co) are genuinely just downright iconic. and i do not say that lightly--taylor is truly one of the best-written protagonists i've seen in anything. ever.
the other main pitch-point for worm is that it's a fascinating deconstruction/reconstruction/examination of the conceits of the superhero genre. it answers the question of--what would the world have to be like, for people with superpowers to act the way they do in classic cape media? and it does this well enough that it's interesting even if you have only a passing familiarity with cape media. i am not a big superhero media fan, but worm addresses virtually every aspect of cape media that was under the sun around 2010 in a way that's so interesting i still find it incredibly engaging. the approach it takes makes the narrative very accessible even to people who aren't usually cape media fans.
and speaking of the narrative: the end of the story is coherent and satisfying and deeply thematically resonant*. the way worm follows through on all of its main mysteries & plot threads is excellent. you don't have to worry about getting thru 1.7 million words and being dissatisfied by the author shitting the bed at the end, or anything like that. he does an amazing job of weaving together plot events in a way that makes each successive one feel rationally, thematically, and emotionally connected to what came before. there's really only one part where i feel the story stumbles a bit, but i think it was the best option he had for the narrative, and it's by no means a dealbreaker. it's in fact really impressive how cohesive and satisfying worm is for such a long webserial released over such a brief period of time.
*this is subjective ive seen some people who didnt love it but ive never seen anyone who downright Hated it who didnt also demonstrate egregious misunderstanding of literally everything worm is about. so thats a good sign
as for the downsides of worm/things that might put you off:
there is a very long list of trigger warnings for it. if you have any trigger warnings you want you should ask your friends to let you know about the relevant parts, because the fact that it's About Trauma (& about typical cape media circumstances presented very seriously) means that traumatic and violent things & their realistic aftermath are constantly happening and/or being discussed. i would not classify worm as needlessly dark or spiteful to the audience by any means, but it is intense and covers a lot of heavy topics. i do assume if your friends are all recommending it to you, they think none of the material would be too much for you, though!
worm was written in 2010 by a white cishet guy from canada. it's typical levels of 2010-era bigoted, it has a deeply lesbophobic stereotype character, it has some atrociously racist stereotype characters, the author really hates addicts, It's Got Blind Spots. i think worm is generally fully worth reading despite these, but very fair warning that it can get bad. i think what exacerbates this is that worm is generally extremely nuanced & sympathetic regarding ideas such as "crime is a result of systematic circumstance vs people just being inherently evil" and "mentally ill people who are traumatized in unpalatable ways are still deserving of fundamental respect as human beings" and so on and so forth, so it's extra noticeable and insufferable when you get to a topic the author has unexamined biases on and all that nuance drops out. the worst part is that a lot of this is most concentrated in the early arcs, so you have to get through them without being super attached to any of the characters yet. it is worth it though.
worm like. Does have a central straight relationship in it. and it's a very well written straight relationship for the most part and i like it quite a lot. but worm also passes the bechdel test with such flying colors that it enters 'unintentionally homoerotic' territory. which means a lot of people were shipping the main character ms taylor hebert with her female friends while the story was being released. which caused the author to get so mad he 1. posted a word of god to a forum loudly insisting that all of the girls are straight and 2. inserted a few deeply awkward and obvious and out of character scenes where he finds an excuse for the girls to more or less turn to the camera and go "i'm not gay, btw. this is platonic." This is fucking insufferable, and will piss you off immensely, but then you will get to any of the number of deeply emotionally affecting scenes between them, and at that point you will be too busy sniffling piteously and perhaps crytyping an analysis post on tumblr to be mad about all that other shit. also they're only a couple tiny portions out of an entire overall fantastic novel
overall: if those points don't sound like dealbreakers (i hope they aren't they're really massively outstripped by the amount of devastatingly good moments in worm, worm still has a thriving fandom over a decade later for a reason), you should absolutely give it a shot and see what you think. my final note is that you have to read up until the end of arc 8 to really see where what makes worm Worm kicks in, so aim for at least there to see how you feel about it if you're just thinking about dipping your toes in vs fully committing. i hope that was helpful and not too long :)
oh and don't go in the comments section on wordpress if you don't want spoilers. or anywhere else in the fandom at all. you will be spoiled. quite possibly for things you could not even have imagined were topics to be spoiled on.

freminet with a shy s/o means alot of awkward and quiet moments 😭 even if they're not as shy as he is, chances are you don't talk much sometimes like him, whenever you do something sweet for him you're all flustered and he is too, but he thinks you're so adorable he doesn't even think as he praises you, squeezing your lil cheeks, just making you more flustered, the way you act when he praises you makes him feel excited, it makes him just a bit bolder each time, letting his hands wander lower to watch your expression until he can't take it anymore
he's the one who intinates it, stripping you slowly of everything in his way, all the while telling you how wonderful you look like that, his own existence increasing each step he takes, his voice being so gentle yet commanding as he directs you, your back arching with quiet moans as he fingers you while taking in every bit of your reaction, he can't help how hard he gets watching you
being inside of you is even better, his hands holding you firmly as he makes you take all of him, the both of you loving every second of it, but especially him as his thrusts faster, his words in your ear making you melt
"so good for me" "you take me so well" "feels so good around me..." despite being spoken so softly it gave a overwhelming sense of dominance, with the force of his thrusts, and the way he held you down, it was just so easy to give up control to him, he'll take care of you, he'll take care of you so well...and he says that while the two of you orgasm, breathing into each other mouths as he kisses you hungrily
of course if anyone ever... overheard the two of you, he'd probably melt into a puddle right then and there out of embarrassment, you have to fend for yourself then....

hii! do you ever get into a huge reading slump? i would say ive been in one for about 3 years now and im desperate to escape it and read again but i cant find anything that's 'popular' enjoyable and have no idea where to start in finding content and books i actually enjoy by myself without tiktok or booktube 😭
Oh I've been in a particularly bad slump for at least 2 years so yes, absolutely! I think the key thing here is to try and remove the pressure off yourself as much as you can: don't look at every book you approach with the mindset of "THIS is will be the antidote to my reading slump" or "THIS novel will save me" because it will most likely stop you from actually enjoying the book: when you go in with such high expectations, you're also bringing a very distracting form of hyper-vigilance with you, waiting for the magic moment to hit, counting the pages until it does, being too conscious or worried when it doesn't in the way you envisioned it. It will turn reading into a chore, an endurance test which you either succeed or fail at, and this will only cement the slump further.
Everyone is different and I don't know what kind of books you like most, but the best thing I can advise is to go back before your slump and see what some of your favourite reads were. One way to ease back into reading is to revisit books you loved and read them again--this eliminates some of the pressure and I think it can also help rebuild that excitement because you know you're returning to familiar ground you've enjoyed before. That, or find other works by those same authors whose writing / style you liked and slowly expand from there. I don't log my reading through apps or websites anymore (and I stay away from booktok like the plague but that's a whole other conversation)--I have an ask on how I find my books here and I hope that helps too--but I've heard really good things about The Storygraph so if tiktok and booktube haven't done it for you, this might be a much better way to move towards books you actually enjoy because it's based on your preferences, not an influencer's or what an algorithm is pushing.
Whatever book you decide to try next, I would also advise you to start slow and / or small if that's what you need (more here)--don't force yourself to plow through several hundred pages in one sitting or 2 days. Sometimes breaking a slump is far more sustainable when you do it chip by chip, slowly, but consistently in a way that makes it less daunting than thinking you have to finish 2 novels every week. Something as simple as setting aside 15 minutes to read in bed before you go to sleep each night can do it. You can also look at audiobook versions, or short story collections in whatever genre it is you enjoy most!

They are all from different fandoms and I genuinely love their works. I am not here to hate on anyone at all, simply here to bring attention to those creators I find worth reading. In fact I actually don't do negative commentary. (If I do, it's probably towards my life 😭)

@frogchiro - This creator is more likely known for the absolutely scrumptious CoD hybrid AUs. MY GOD EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HER AUs ARE JUST ON ANOTHER LEVEL. Ranging from Hacker girl!Reader to Baracks Bunny!Reader. (Octo König and Coyote Graves are personal faves of mine) (Her nsfw content is the most toe curling shit I've ever read)
@ghouljams - This creator is another known for their CoD AUs, only this time you may know them as the one who wrote the Cowboy and Medieval AUs. This person and @frogchiro actually got their inboxes mixed up a few times I believe, they're both really just that good, I clearly need pointers. (I honestly don't have much words because god do I eat their content up)
@wishesforyouo (previous account being: @puff0o0) - This lovely creator makes short but sweet CoD content, you may recognize her as the person who made the popular self-aware CoD AU. Definitely my cup of tea because I really like short reads from time to time. (Miss this AU, sweetie <3)
@blingblong55 - This creator loves to make me cry, idk why. I love her though, her nsfw content is also freaking delicious I can't even.
@xo-cod - This creator, I can't even begin. I just love their writing style, it's sweet, quite short and worth the read. (We also have the same name)

@ceilidho - This creator I can't even begin to describe how fucking delicious the Ghost content is, idgaf if it's short (IT'S PERFECT). Like my god, how'd y'all come up with content that you do. I think she captures Ghost quite well in her writing.
@mistydeyes - This creator, my fucking god. Her content is so good especially the requests she gets. The overall vibe of her writing gives a specific aesthetic that I love so much and honestly their series is worth the freaking read. Series mentioned here, the writing style is so unique but captures the characters perfectly.
@wordstome - This creator made the GREATEST FUCKING FRIENDS TO LOVERS KÖNIG FANFIC I HAVE EVER READ. It was all just so perfect, the length, the pacing and the writing style is fucking incredible. God where'd y'all get the talent to write this, here's the link to said fanfic because I do not gatekeep.
@multifandomimagin3s - This creator and the amount of Rudy content, I AM EATING IT UP. What do y'all feed yourselves to write with this amount of quality? Like their depiction of Rudy (and of course the others) is just Chef's kiss. (Also idk why but this person seems familiar since I remember someone in Wattpad a long time ago who has the same user)
@lxvvie - This creator creates the best fucking characterization I've ever read, LIKE HELLO?! Horangi is so accurate and her version of König is too. I love it, I'm eating her content up.

And yes I'm referring to their series "Nobody Compares To You". I can't even begin to say how much I love this creator, if I wasn't broke then I'd would've already tipped them. I personally think she captures Ellie's personality well. I appreciate a writer who implements shit that happen in her life into her stories. (Despite that, the amount of things happening in their love life is also some complicated shit that I love hearing updates from. Love ya belle <3) Me reading the belle's fanfic at 3am knowing damn well I have school the next day
@lovelettersfromluna - This creator is another amazing writer and holy hell are her works so good, like the length and writing style is just perfect. It's so compact yet it's not too long, add me on your ma'am taglist, please 🥺 <3

@papipedroo - This creator has made a a series on Joel Miller x Reader angst AND I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO SAY HOW GOOD IT WAS. THEY GOT ME CRYING AT 7 IN THE MORNING. The Bridgerton S3 sneak peek popped up on my YouTube recently, and I kept imagining the scenario with Isaac SO HERE'S THAT!
I've never actually seen Bridgerton (just a BUNCHHHH of clips on tik tok if that counts), so this isn't accurate at all😭

Where did it all go wrong?
Only a few weeks ago you were laughing and chatting with Isaac about another book you’ve crossed off your list. It was a frequent arrangement; he’d invite you for tea and listen as you rant for hours about some new book, he’d never pick up himself. Romance just wasn’t his cup of tea, but he still listened to you. It made you feel a sense of worth, it made you feel seen. Sometimes you’d indulge him in pieces you’ve written yourself, little poems and fairy tales that were inspired by something you’ve read. He was the only one who got to hear them, because his praise was all that mattered to you. After all, each and every piece of writing was made with him in mind, each and every piece reflected your adoration for him. He never knew, and he will never know. Not after this.

Another ball, another extravagant event for everyone to dress their best and display themselves for all they’re worth. Especially for attendees your age, it's the perfect time to begin their search for suitors and marry off as soon as they could. Not you though, never you. Maybe you weren’t good enough, pretty enough, social enough, simply not enough. It kept you up at night, wondering if you’d ever secure a proposal in the future, or if you’ll secure a proposal from the person you desperately wanted it from. He was the only one who gave any attention, the only man that looked in your direction at all. He was a dear friend and perhaps even more if you told him how you felt.
So that was the plan, you had to confess to Isaac Rhoades.
For once, you put effort into the way you looked. You chose a flattering colour for your outfit, one that complimented your skin, and had your hair styled the way he said he liked many months ago. You felt confident. You felt ready.
Seeing him that night made your heart flutter and your expectation skyrocket. He tucked a piece of hair behind your ear and told you how beautiful you looked. He danced with you, smiled with you, and told you no matter what, he cared for you and you were special to him. Absolutely nothing else mattered, just him, his charming smile and the bubbling feeling in the depths of your stomach.
At the peak of the night, you decided to venture after him and finally declare your love. It was the perfect opportunity, and you were sure of the chemistry between yourself and him. So, you retrieve the single rose you picked for him and made your way to the corner he had wondered off to. Much to your disappointment, he wasn’t alone. He stood with a close friend of his, Vic. You were ready to turn around and walk away, until you heard your name.
“So, what about name? You seemed happy dancing with them only moments ago.”, Vic teased.
“name? I would never dream of courting them.”, Isaac dismissed his assumption as if it was so foolish.
The only thing foolish here however, was you. How could you ever expect him to want to be with you? He was a gem waiting to shine with his diamond and you were no diamond. You ran, tears streaming down your cheeks, avoiding everyone in your path. No need to give them a spectacle, or something new to talk about. That was the end of your night, the end of years’ worth of friendship and the end of any hope you’d held onto of being wed this year.

It’s been weeks since then, but your heart hurts no less. Isaac had sent multiple tea invitations, but you never responded. What was the point? He didn’t truly care for you, he pitied you. Everything he’s ever told you were lies, yet it dripped off his lips so sweetly like syrup. You wanted to hate him, you wished you could hate him, but that was impossible. He made you feel like you were worth something to him, not just as a friend. Turns out the feeling of being more than friends was on the level of siblings than romance, and even that was probably a stretch.
And yet again you were attending a ball, another opportunity to find suitors for others and another opportunity to embarrass yourself for you. Of course, Isaac Rhoades was in attendance, as the only son of the Rhoades household, it was of utmost importance he found himself a wife this season. A wife which was most certainly not you, as he has made clear.
Throughout the night you found his eyes on you but every time he began to a make his way in your direction you occupied yourself in conversation, dance or simply slipped away into the crowd. You did anything and everything to never have to speak to him that night, so when you realised there was no point in staying any longer you had no issues with finding the door.
Outside the ballroom, you slowly made your way down the corridor towards the carriages. The faster you could lock yourself in your room and scream into a pillow the better. But life has its ways of tormenting you.
“Pickle, hold on!”, Isaac calls behind you.
Startled, you turn around and he’s not too far behind you. “I was just on my way out, good night Mr. Rhoades.”
“Mr. Rhoades?”, he catches up to you, “Since when are we using that?”
“I didn’t realise we were back to using 'Pickle' either.”, you snap.
“What?”, he asks, confused. “I invited you to tea last week, you didn’t respond. I chalked up the first few times to you being busy, but it feels like you’re ignoring me on purpose. Is something wrong Pickle? If I really must say it, I miss you.”
“Hah!”, you laugh to his face. “You miss me? You miss me but you’d never court me, is that correct?”
The look on his face resembled a child who got caught stealing sugar.
“I overheard your conversation with Vic, telling him you’d never dream of courting me.”, you’re almost shouting, finally being able to let out an ounce of frustration.
“Pickle I...”, he looked around before continuing, “Maybe we should talk somewhere more private.”

In all honesty, I never thought this would get this far... It all started with some silly ideas from an avid bookworm who began to see herself reflected in her favorite character and got extremely excited every time she saw him with a book. And, from then... it all came alone, more or less. I've totally poured into Luigi (and the whole post) my own feelings when reading and fangirling over books, for you BET I'm also extremely intense when I'm enjoying a good novel. I simply thought that Luigi would act the same, since I have in common with him that I also get emotional very easily and experiment my own feelings in a very intense way. And it only makes me feel all the way more connected to my beloved boy in green 💚💚💚
So thank you. Thank you for your enthusiasm (I didn't expect that there would be so much anticipation when I shared my teaser post a few days ago!), and for welcoming all my ideas with open arms. I totally enjoyed writing them, and it was definitely something I needed after everything I went through last month. These headcanons have helped me connect with Luigi (and the whole gang) again, which means I totally feel like writing fics again and I just couldn't be happier because I've missed it so much! 🥹🥹🥹 I really hope you're ready, because some of the HCs I've shared today will definitely become written works in the future! Regarding the Uchiha, I always do my best to make them realistic, they have very complicated personalities that are sometimes hard to deal with, but I do my best🤠
Coincidentally, Indra is the love of my life, and the most difficult of all!!!! There is not a single piece in which I don't find it hard to work with him, a pleasant effort of course, but complicated all the same👀💫 Love me a good ass challenge
He is unable to define what hurts more, the agony of having pushed her away or the grief of now missing her madly. Madara carries an ancestral struggle with his complicated feelings from the time he learned to stand on his feet, always confused and unsure of what is going on inside him.
The only thing he could always identify was anger, violence, dark sensations in his chest that compelled him to go out and kill, vent, yet he never learned to cope with those things considered good, healthy, beautiful.
(Y/N) brought for him a whirlwind of unknown experiences, a leap into an uncertain void, not knowing what awaits at the bottom, throwing himself into the possibilities she proposed. He didn't plan to fall in love, didn't plan to feel anything about her, but there was a magic around this woman that left him dumbfounded, entangled in his own lack of understanding.
Every time he came across her, his heart dropped to his stomach, his palms sweated, and he felt an enormous urge to run away. He feared he had been under powerful Genjutsus the first few times, but Izuna confirmed it was simply... love.
After recounting the symptoms over and over again, his younger brother explained that is the exact sensation everyone experiences when meeting someone they like, the body's way of confirming attraction, desire for that person. He refused to believe it at first, but the more the situation was repeated, the more he finally gave in to accepting what he never asked for.
Madara does not have time for affection and love, he does not have the need of a woman in his bed nor does the political context demand an heir, so he tries to fight against the loss of control he feels every time he sees her.
(Y/N), without any effort, manages to make his knees go weak, to make him feel conscious about his appearance, insecure about how he wears his hair or what clothes he chose that morning. He didn't ask for these sensations, he didn't ask for these thoughts, yet the woman managed to infiltrate his heart and ignore all the barriers he raised over the years.
He found himself entangled in her arms, consumed by her kisses, occupying nights he should use to plan war strategies on her, between her legs and caresses, devouring her body and soul. Her presence managed to monopolize his every focus of attention, growing fear deep within every time he pondered the possibility of losing her.
What would happen if the Senju found out about her? If the enemy manages to get information about the woman the Uchiha Leader loves, the one he intends to share his life with? (Y/N) became an easy target since she entered his world, always unintentionally walking on the edge of danger. Several times she has explained nothing matters to her, that she just wants to be with him, to dedicate her life to loving and protecting him.
Yet, protection is the only thing Madara could think about.
He can't expose her, can't give her away to the enemy, can't abandon her to war and the possibility of being used to get to him. Under these same pretexts, he decided to break her heart into a million pieces the night before his next battle against Hashirama.
With all the regret in the world and feigning a convincing coldness, he asked her to move to the most remote part of the Uchiha compound, never to see her again. All his efforts went into keeping a serious face, the same expression he would use to speak to the council, erasing any trace of affection in his eyes. He had to lie, tell her she was only seen as a method of physical release, a hole to spend the cold nights with, nothing more than an object.
(Y/N) couldn't help her tears, breaking down in front of him, perfectly buying the facade he set out to maintain, not seeing the truth behind his terrible words. From that day on she stayed away, not on his radar, removed from any area Madara was in, fulfilling his wish.
As time passed, he forced himself to concentrate on what really deserved his attention, to fill his days with even more business than was already present, avoid thinking or having free time, thus coping with pain. Months went by, his metaphorical wounds continued to fester, and nothing managed to erase from his mind and memory the wonderful memories (Y/N) planted.
No matter how hard he tried, she was always there whenever he closed his eyes.
Nothing prevented them from meeting again, by chance, outside the compound, and the emotions it brought him were uncontrollable. Seeing her back, after so much time and events in between, sunk in the pressure of winning a seemingly endless war and up to his neck with anger and rage against everything, felt like a blessing.
Without thinking about what happened he clung once more to the light (Y/N) always provided in his life, consuming every last drop of love she had for him. He never managed to put his feelings into words, to explain to her how much he loved her, how much he felt for her, believing only his kisses would be enough to make her understand.
He never said "I love you", but always voiced an "I don't like you" when needing to get away.
His bubble of happiness burst again after he received a letter from Hashirama, pleading for peace between the clans, deeply questioning him by saying, "We don't want our women to get hurt." Not only did he feel anger and helplessness, but also realized the Senju were already aware of (Y/N).
That night of pain and breakups repeated again, Madara retelling once more how he doesn't love her and that she needs to get away from him, internally dying to hug her and beg her to forgive him for everything, to confess the deep love he has for her.
Still, the woman respected his wishes, becoming invisible inside the compound and disappearing from his sight, but this was not enough. Having her inside the Uchiha territory implied a terrible danger, and he had no choice but to throw her out of the place, to demand her to leave if she didn't want to die under his hands.
"Should you not depart, you little nuisance, I'll ensure your new home is hell."
His soul, bleeding from the agony of having to watch her leave again, of having to use harsh words and unreal threats because he knows she wouldn't go otherwise, cracks even more, a constant ache in his chest that makes him feel like he's about to have a heart attack.
He witnessed her gather her things and walk out the front door, abandoning everyone and everything, until she became an indistinguishable stain in the distance.
That hurt, that grief, the suffering of losing her again, was the fuel he needed to face the Senju for the last time, fed up with having to sacrifice everything good in his life for a cause that didn't even belong to him.
The founder of the clan had reason to stand up to them, but the generations that followed him did not. Madara is ready to make a change in history, to stop the senseless killings, the baseless violence.
Before the usual confrontation begins, the two most important hands in the world came together in a peace agreement, a future project to improve the lives of the two families. Of course it was difficult, but no Uchiha ever perished in battle again, no Senju shed their blood in the face of the enemy, and all found a common ground of agreement and understanding to live together peacefully.
The village was formed, populating quickly with people from all over, and among all the administrative and agreement problems, Madara failed to notice the presence of the person he cares most about in the world.
He bumps into her one day, unexpectedly, as he walks by with hands full of papers for Hashirama to review and projects proposed by the people, motions to be dealt with. His head is so tangled in political affairs and formalities he fails to notice when he collides with her head-on.
The reunion is both terrible and wonderful, past wounds opening and buried loves resurrecting, everything he forced himself to forget, all the feelings he had to deny to survive and protect her, exploding inside him like the time bomb it always was.
"You can't kick me out of the village, you're not the leader here." Is all she says before running off in the opposite direction, countenance full of anger and resentment, without any interest in talking to him or entertaining him with formal pleasantries.
Madara does not react in time to stop her, to explain, to rectify all the damage he did to her, yet when he finds himself sitting at his office in the Hokage's tower, he reviews all the village documents, discovering where (Y/N) lives.
That same night he goes to her door and knocks on the wood with a timid, reluctant hand, actions uncharacteristic of the Uchiha leader. He is greeted by a thoroughly pissed-off woman, nearly slamming the door in his face, but Madara is quick enough to put a foot in the middle and beg for permission to explain himself.
"Why should I let you in? After everything you said to me? Everything you did..."
"I... I was trying to protect you, guard you from them, I-"
"Protect me? It was you I needed protection from. You said way too many horrible things for them all to have been lies."
"I didn't mean anything I said, (Y/N), none of it was true, I had to get you out of the fire line-"
"Fire line, you say? You kicked me out of the safest territory I could be in, without any assistance, where the "enemy" could find me. In fact, they did, and fucking Senju Hashirama saved me from starving to death!"
At the statement, Madara can only stare at her dumbfounded, oblivious to all these details, not knowing what became of her once she disappeared. Sure, both territories were close during the time of war, but he hoped she would avoid the place she knew as hostile.
"You destroyed the life I knew just because of what was internally happening to you. If you wanted to protect me so badly, if you truly wanted to shelter me from danger, you would never have broken my heart like that, never have given me away as you did to a cruel and uncertain fate."
Madara can only cast his eyes down, grieved, even more dismayed by the situation and the result of everything he himself caused, indignant with his own actions and the terrible way he handled everything.
"I would appreciate it if you stayed out of my business, and let me live, finally in peace." She slams the door in his face, the Uchiha powerless to keep strength in his leg and stop it from happening, defeated and desolate, furious, hurt, all at the same time. His enemy saved his woman's life, the very one he threw away by trying to take care of, and now he must deal with it.

convenience store woman by sayaka murata -one of my fave books of all timeeeeee. its basically about a woman who just doesnt fit in into 'normal' society and even tho she's happy ppl feel like she shouldnt be bc she's not progressing w everyone else. if you've been the weird girl ever this book will
ring shout - p djeli clark. a historical fiction novel where the kkk are like demons and theres this organization of black hunters. its action packed but what makes it so amazing is the emotional growth of the characters :') an all time fave
the vanishing half - brit bennett. another AMAZING historical fiction book. its abt family lines....and colorism and twins and what it means to be white passing and privilege and generational trauma. it honestly has toni morrison core vibes where there's a lot of pain but thru love all is healed!
there's no such thing as an easy job by kikuko tsumura. a bit of an eclectic read. this woman takes on different jobs and they each give her grief in a new way. very relatable esp if you hate your job 😭
the vegetarian by han kang. THEE GOAT. i will recc this book until the day i DIE. and even then. its technically a horror story abt the fallout after a woman has a dream/vision and decides to stop eating meat but its sooo much deeper than that. its such a great look at how, as a woman, everything abt you is subject to critique down to what you eat
parasite eve. thee classic scifi horror the video game was inspired by! think frankenstein but there's a love story underneath. but also you question if it was love at all bc what if the mitochrondria inside of us are just manipulating everything we do? i loved it! writing style is a bit clinical but idc
my sister the serial killer by oyinkan braithwaite...i read this one in a single day it was THAT GOOD. sister is a serial killer and the fucking implications and fucked up shit that comes from lookism and family expectations and misogyny tbh. love it~
annihilation by jeff vandermeer. the first in a series but you can just read the first one. its sooooooooooooooooooo good. its a scifi book about this mysterious barrier off the coast that's slowly expanding and inside nature is reclaiming its space and most everyone that enters the barrier never returns.....another quick read bc it will have you HOOKED
yellowface by r f kuang. i don't usually enjoy satire but r f kuang really TOOK IT THERE. this is the most infuriating book you'll ever read but in the best way. this white author w an inferiority complex objectifies her friend that she secretly hates and then steals her friend's book. only thing is the friend is proudly asian and her book is abt specific cultural history so the white girl does diet yellowface and is just a massive bitch
beloved by toni morrison. how do you sum up beloved? i cannot sum up beloved. if i had to sum up beloved i would say 'love is a haunting but not every haunting is love and the only thing that can clear a haunting is love'
in the dream house by carmen maria machado. god probably the best prose i've read all year. a really beautiful but bittersweet autobiographical novel about a bisexual woman's experience with a fucked up abusive relationship and how subtle abuse can be. heavy subject matter but handled soooo beautifully.
the only good indians by stephen graham jones. WHEW. this is a horror......and this book will take you for a fucking ride i'll tell you that. its abt a group of native american men who were childhood friends and due to one mistake they're all haunted by...something that wants to get revenge on them. this book had me going 'DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?' multiple times

House of alpha is one of those stories where I’m writing a chapter and have to stop myself because I’m writing into the next chapter. I also had fell asleep like right after I posted hahah. I was so mad when my work didn’t save I stayed up all night to finish it so don’t worry I’ll try to get that next chapter to you ASAP~ I do have two children that are not yet out the house (Looks at Desert Rose and House of Alpha stories) I must love them both equally so the next post will be for Desert Rose ~ don’t worry she’s almost old enough lol (not me treating my stories like kids XD) 🖤
Oh! Yes! I have very interesting dreams. I have so many ideas that I have to close off because I need to finish the stories I have lol. I like to focus on one or two stories at a time.
So~ I don’t think I can tell you how fucking hilarious it was when i ran away in my dream from the omega house. In my dream I actually was on the boat getting ready to sail. I was leaning on the side looking out at the beautiful ocean while taking a deep sigh. Like damn those were some hot ass alphas, I’ll never get that experience but oh well~ The captain sounded the bell for us to go but then stopped mid ring. that’s when two men stepped up beside me. Sukuna was snacking on fingers (he was a lot more gruesome in my dream. Like he actually killed miwa in my dream because he got pissy of the food she served him so I made sure to save her in the actual story and made that part part of the game story if that makes sense) while Toji just leaned on the side to admire the view with me. And Toji was like nice view Huh? And sukuna was like yeah imma stop you right here I don’t like boats get the fuck off And I looked at them like WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE?! And toji was like oh we were just seeing where you were going but let’s stop it here prime omega. And the complete shock I felt when they told me they chose me sent me flying over board as I swam away and ran because I just can’t accept nice things XD. yeah hehe my dream was more of the smutty bits and plots lol I don’t want to spoil it 🤭.
But when I woke up I was left in awe. It was like i watched a really good movie but I can’t tell anyone to watch it because it doesn’t exist so I gotta retell the story like tenacious D singing their tribute to the greatest song in the world but it was the greatest reverse harem issekai in the world 🤣🖤. I was like the people must know of this story !

Hi so got any ninjago x reader recs? Ever since reading Wisps, it has affected my brain chemistry and now i crave for more ninjago x reader content but im picky when finding fics, so got any recommendations?

Just to note, I am not sure how to really curate your taste so most of these are what I essentially enjoyed reading and been a fan of so forgive me if some (or all 😭 no hard feelings though) aren't your thing.
Let's see...
Honestly Wisps is the *best* so far in my opinion! I don't know if this is pure coincidental but I am also hunting for some ninjago fics to feel emotions again lmao! And I tried my best in remembering what I've read or interested in so hope these are all ok for you!
+ Second best in my opinion is the 'Infinity Series' by Joos according to their quotev because at ao3 it's orphaned [ao3; quotev book 1 & book 2 ]
Unfortunately, the author has stopped updating this fic but going back at it was really enjoyable like in the Wisps. The summary according to the first installment 'Infinite Serenity';
"[Name] has died and became reincarnated in a childhood TV show of hers. She is raised as the adopted daughter of Sensei Wu, training as the Master of Infinity. Once the plot of the show really gets going, a being resurfaces from her. They claim to have revived her and can help her unlock the memories from her previous life. Now, [Name] must rely on this being to help protect Ninjago, and discovers how her past connects with her present."
TW: Suicide, self harm, child abuse, some gore and swearing (please pay attention to the tags)
Please please heed the trigger warning, I don't remember much from the content but I definitely recall the author tackling those tags in a respectful way. The love interests are Kai, Nya, Jay, Cole, Morro and platonic with Master Wu and her cousin Lloyd Garmadon. Again, second best recommended fic in my opinion.
+ Next one, this is not one series but user Circus4APsycho8 (they have ao3 and tumblr) in my opinion have the best x reader one-shots from the fandom! My all-time favorite work of theirs is 'Secret Someone' [Highschool AU! Lloyd Garmadon x reader]- this one is really sweet ❣️

+ The next one is purely Lloyd Garmadon x Female Reader titled 'Butterfly Effect' by samsea at ao3. I think they're still updating and I am a big fan of hero x civilian pairings and just they're cute and in love.
Summary: "If it was up to Y/n L/n, she would read the summer away, lost in history books and adventure novels, finding excitement in their written words. Meeting Lloyd Garmadon changed her plans. Suddenly, Y/n is living a life she'd only read about; summer romances and cotton candy dates. Perhaps this was a new normal she could get used to. Again, heed the warnings but the writing and atmosphere overall is really sweet and for some reason all cuddly and sunny. IDK but maybe I am always soft for Lloyd lmao.
+ If you're up to reading only x reader head cannons then I recommend user mouschiwrites here in tumblr. Their requests are closed now but the head cannons they made are cute and entertaining, like I can definitely see this character doing that y'know. Here's their ninjago masterlist

Actually, while finishing my school projects I'm also checking out from another user snazzilystoopid's ninjago recommendation. So far, I am enjoying their second recommended which is 'Element of Wishes' by yourfavoritecloud at quotev BUT this one is an Character x OC one so if it's not up to your alley they have few recommendations. Honestly, I am up to anything as long as it entertained my monkey brain.
Sorry for the long post! Hope these works are okay for your taste but the closest fic that gives off the same vibes as Wisps is the Infinite series. And these are all by my own opinions and the fics I remembered catching my eye. I am very much open to other recommendations or shout-outs.
Side note, there's not much Ninjago fics out there that I might let my monkey brain loose and create one myself LOOOL.

OMG you are one of if not the best aruanie artist i saw, i cant believe i have only found you now!
They were like the first ship ever for me and they still mean a lot, they are so sweet, especially in your style. The ironic thing is, that at first way back around season 1 i started to see aruanie fan art, and at the time i tought it was a bit odd (i guess i missed all the signs in the show), i liked it but i considered it somewhat of a crack ship, especially since Annie was present just for one short season then it seemed like she never actually gonna come back. And then i lost my mind when suddenly in the manga it was just straight up canon xd. It propably helped that from the begining they were my favourite characters even individually.
They are still the best ship ever, like what do you mean in her whole life she was raised for war, but then couldnt kill the one guy who didnt cared about all this conflict and revenge he just wanted to explore the world, and her decicion cost the warriors the whole mission and eventually changed the world 😭
Btw do you know of some fanfictions that you would recommend?

Haha I feel you! Aruani made me feel things i never thought i would for fictional characters before. I personally shipped them from the start. I guess I was gifted with the vision and carried the curse of being judged by my AOT-enthusiast friends for years. So I understand why it felt like a crack ship at the time for some. I was pretty sure i was delusional myself-
but now… SIKE !!!!!!!!!!!! I am unapologetically taking my revenge with Aruani fanart now XD

As for fanfictions, I am actually new to this kind of media. I never really looked for written fan-content in any other fandoms before…well- now... But i’m happy i’m finally doing it because it opens my artistic viewpoint and this community is very talented ♥ I didn't know writing could make me feel so many emotions and keeping me involved like that. I never experienced it to that extend in the past.
That being said, it means I haven't read a lot of them yet, besides work keeps me busy and my reading is pretty slow…So for the time being i 'll suggest you take a look at this post which regroups a lot of work already (and I think reblogs have some updates too ! )

As sad as anger has told me is, I love that that was the first one you read! I think it's the best thing to read to get a feel of my overall style, if that makes sense.
It's got a good bit of angst, but it's still hopeful and I think that captures a lot of my overall tone and storytelling. I still think, "This anger will make a feast out of him, but it'll never make him feel full." is one of the best things I'll ever write hahah
That said, I do love being over the top sweet when the moment calls for it (29 Going on 30 is still one of my personal favorites to this day).

4.) How many different styles/mediums (e.g., digital art, traditional art, comics, sculptures, paper craft, etc.) did you try this year?
Actually, quite a bit!! At least, more than I initially thought I did. I, of course, did mostly digital art near the end of this year, and ended up producing a lot more pieces than I've done before!! It was honestly kind of crazy how much art I began producing at the end of this year. It was like I was a driver in a race, pffffffft. But, at the beginning of this year, I dabbled a lot in traditional art, because I enjoy the feeling of putting a pencil to paper, and whilst it takes more time, sometimes it can give you more freedom to experiment with designs or expressions. I also began making a long-form Bob's Burgers comic for the first time, which was inspired by @bluebirbbs and their long-form Bob's Burgers comic, which everyone should read if they haven't already. When I was younger and in art class, I actually used even more mediums for creating art, like sewing an actual Christmas ornament, and sketching stuff using a lightbox, which is super fun. But I haven't done those two things in years. I kind of want to try doing them again someday.
10.) What inspired/motivated you this year?
DT, you know I'm going to say you as my first (and biggest :3) inspiration. I mean, come on, you're the reason I have this blog in the first place. I know I've said it before, but seeing your amazing, lovely BB art inspired me to begin making my own and get back into drawing, and it caused me to create my blog and expand it into territories I didn't even think were possible. And now I'm running Geneuary, an event celebrating my favorite baby boy, and that would never have happened if it hadn't been for you, and that initial Boblin ask I somehow worked up the courage to give you (and am so glad I did)! It doesn't show it anymore, but do you remember how I didn't even have an image for my account?? 😆
Yes, I'm getting super sappy, but all of this is true!! Now, of course, you weren't my only inspiration. There are too many blogs to name, but @br1ghtestlight has been super sweet and my Gene Belcher buddy!! He's the one person who loves the baby boy as much as I do. We may or may not do a collab for Geneuary based on an idea she had about Gene and Tina working on a lil' puzzle together, which is just too adorable 😭
I also must shout out @babsvibes too. She was also, in a way, the reason I even have this blog. I used to be content enjoying this silly Burger show on my own, watching the episodes and having fun, and reading the occasional fanfic (@thisaliennerd and their Boblin fanfic Falling For You is Easy [Like Sunday Morning]) was one of my first forays into the BB fanfic community, and it wonderful) when I suddenly stumbled upon this Tinimmy fic by Babs one fateful day called Honeycombed Hair, I believe: https://archiveofourown.org/works/44413795
This fic led me to you, DT, and your amazing art!! And I joined this incredible Muppet community, and nothing's been the same for me ever since. Now I don't have to enjoy this show alone!! Of course, I have my BF @cryptidchrome now, who watches the show, but I digress. Babs also invited me to the Louigan server, which has been an absolute blast. And she's just an excellent writer in general, which is very inspiring as someone who also writes.
I must also shoutout @theangrypomeranian for being so sweet and Commissioning me, and also being an excellent writer (she called me the #1 Gene person in this fandom and that made me so 🥺). And @devilh0rnsinc for having such lovely art that it makes me squee every time. And @jimmypesto for making the best Boblin fics and just being the ultimate Boblin connoisseur. Shoutout to her new nephew for being the most adorable bambino on the entire planet. Welcome to the world, lil' bean!! @jimmyjrsmusoems is another fantastic writer and is hilarious, and is the other Tinimmy connoisseur in this fandom, besides you, DT, of course. Also, @koko-raccoon has some of the cutest art ever and listened to me ramble about my OCs, which I definitely want to thank them for. Their art is very inspiring to me. But the person whose art is the most inspiring to me, besides yours, DT, is probably @dianadeadwing. Her art is wonderful, and I'll never get enough of it. I also get so excited whenever I see it.
Okay, now for more of a speed round so I can mention more people!! @ratguy-nico has adorable art as well, and I love his style so much. It's wonderful. And @ltwharfy is such a good writer and I didn't even know until I read his Roudise Week fic about Bob and Rudy getting Louise a new hat when she outgrows her bunny ears. @keepyourhornson-spyro is another fantastic writer and is the certified Tedmort Monarch. There are just so many more people I want to name, but I'll just mention one more person: @carnivaldemon, who gave me the most adorable art of Gene and my OC, Alexis. His art is truly inspiring to me.
11.) What pairing/character/subject did you create the most for this year?
You probably already know the answer to this ☠️
It's definitely a tie between Boblin and Gene/Alexis, which is definitely my newest ship and obsession. But I have to give Boblin a special shoutout because I began work on an entire Pre-Canon Boblin series (which I'm still working on to this day) and a "Linda is Deaf" AU, both of which are super close to my heart now. Thank you for giving me the push I needed to work on my "Linda is Deaf" AU when I sent that ask about it to you, pfffffft.
Gene is definitely the character I've created the most for in terms of just singular characters. I could talk about him all day. I love this lil' guy so much. Hopefully, y'all don't get bored of hearing me ramble about him, because I'll certainly never get bored of rambling about him.
27.) Biggest surprise while creating art this year?
Honestly, the biggest surprise was just how sweet, supportive, and welcoming the Bob's Burgers community ended up being. Y'all welcomed me with open arms and supported all of my creative endeavors (and long analyses about Gene) and for that, I'll always be grateful. This community really does feel like one big family, and it's so lovely to see. Everyone is just so nice to each other, it warms my heart 🥹 And one of my biggest surprises was learning about the Ship Weeks/Character Events, and how fun they are. They're truly a testament to how sweet and talented this community is. I'm definitely looking forward to them all next year if they happen again.

i was tagged by lovely @loveyougoodbi to do an F1 wrapped. so, here are my results!
i want to elaborate a bit. it was damn hard to do these tops, especially the drivers one. i literally battled with myself for every position ._.
DRIVERS:
1. Charles Leclerc
i adore him as a pilot and as a person. his driving style is exciting and desperate, always on the limit. his fearlessness, his passion for the sport, his loyalty. on the track Charles Leclerc is literally the embodiment of fire and red. i dream of seeing him in a decent car and in my opinion Charles' WDC is only a matter of time.
2. Max Verstappen
Max is perfect on the track. his mistakes are minimal, his calculation and calmness are amazing. i admire his eternal straightforwardness and honest expression of his opinions. i love his dry and sarcastic humour. he is a very strong man who in no way deserves to be booed for his victories.
3. Lando Norris
this boy is a ray of sunshine. protect him and take care of him. and please, for fuck's sake, let 2024 bring him his first victory... as soon as mclaren picked up the pace in the second part of the season, it became immediately apparent what a serious opponent Lando could be on the track. one of the reasons why i have Mexico in my top races is because of his magnificent breakthrough from P19 to P5.
4. Fernando Alonso
is it even necessary to write anything here? how can you not like Alonso? he's even got the best fucking tiktok acc i've ever seen!!!
5. Alex Albon
this man is too fast for Williams. i'm sorry he's spending these years not in a top team, i hope to see him in positions higher up. Alex always makes the most of the car, pulls it in the points and continues to stay positive. he gives off so much warmth that it can't help but make me happy c:
RACES:
1. Las Vegas
everything about it was ✨beautiful✨. from the absolutely awful beginning to the fabulous end. last lap overtake from Charles made me scream. the chaotic start and the amount of overtaking and fighting – oh fuck yes, i honestly didn't expect that. (and sphere was a big plus lmao)
2. Singapore
the only race where RBR had problems led to the fact that we saw a battle for first place from four (4!) cars at once. Carlos took over as Ferrari's strategist and i was honestly very happy to see Carlando on the podium and their genuine embrace c:
3. Zandvoort
chaos? chaos. 186 overtakes. every fucking weather condition. cheering fans. positions changing at the speed of light. liam lawson – what? fernando alonso – WHAT?! and yeah, Max Verstappen still wins the gran prix.
4. Mexico
red bull gives wings right at the first corner. it was great to see both Charles and Lewis on the podium after being disqualified at the previous race. i already mentioned Lando's breakthrough but DAN RICCARDO. he tore everyone and everything. dramatic race i'd say.
5. Monza
it was nice to see ferrari leading the race in Monza. even if only for 15 laps. in 2023, that's a lot for someone who isn't Max. but of course the main highlight is how i almost ended up with heart attack because of the fight between Carlos and Charles in the last laps. but that's what formula 1 should look like. and it was great.
TEAM:
i wrote that it's Red Bull, but i feel a need to mention that because my favourite drivers are all from different teams, it's hard for me to pick just one. when i first started watching formula 1, i would claim to be a Ferrari fan (well i still am...), but the further i got, the more pain and disappointment i got supporting this team and more and more of my respect red bull started to gain. they have a reliable car and strategies. quick pitstops, absolute precision and coordination. they are a team and they deserve every their win this season. now I truly admire RBR.
