I just saw this video on YouTube by Time Team, narrated by sir Tony Robinson. Works are on the way to build a replica of the Sutton Hoo ship. A crowdfunding has been set up to raise the necessary money.

I am by no means affiliated with the project, but my Germanic archaeology heart is screaming with joy.

The cartoon did not downplay Sokka’s lingering trauma with their father being gone. It didn’t “just address” Katara’s grief with not having either of her parents there. They were core aspects of their characters that were referenced and built upon throughout the entire show. For the LA show runners to miss that is a critical failure.

This shows that the people involved in the Netflix ATLA don’t know jack shit about how ATLA was handled. They’re approaching it like a Wikipedia plot summary that they’re expanding on. They’re pretending this is some groundbreaking shift from the show when it isn’t. I have no reason to trust the people making this when they don’t even seem to know how the source material works.

The voice acting in this show adds dimensions that only serious meme methods can truly capture.

I want to see more emotional bonding between Simon and Wilhelm in s3, beyond what we've already seen. I want to see them understand each other's emotions more, beyond understanding each other's situations (like the book analysis scene in S2E5).

- I want Simon to understand Wille's anxiety, panic, grief for Erik, how the events of s1 affected him, how he feels about being the Crown Prince now that he has Simon...

- I want Wille to understand Simon's feelings about Micke, how the events of s1 affected him and his family, how Simon feels about Sara's betrayal...

- I want how they feel about each other to be explored a bit more. I want them to know things about each other no one else does, including how to comfort each other.

Emotional bonding is so important and more of it has to be there in S3. More quality time, communication, and them knowing more and more about each other!

i'm of the opinion that there are times for a faithful adaptation and times for some leeway. a lot of this has to do with what the adaptation is advertised as. if it's advertised as a super faithful adaptation, it better be super faithful, and it can be ripped apart for failing at this. if it's not, then it shouldn't be judged on how closely it adapts the og story and rather how well it tells the new story.

Something about the debate scene where Spider goes full misogynist has been nagging my brain. Yes he’s an asshole, and the fact that he says all this shit knowing it hurts people even though he doesn’t necessarily always believe it makes it worse imo. And no he didn’t change, he took a few posters down and said “okay imma stop being an ass to impress this girl I like”. But knowing that from his POV he was trying, and was going to continue to try to prove to Missy he could change, and then she did a 180 (again from his POV), pushing him even more towards Voss, is a bit heartbreaking. I don’t want it to sound like I’m making excuses for him, he’s awful and needs to take responsibility and properly atone. But he’s also a vulnerable/impressionable teenager and Voss saw that and used it in his favor. You could see the moment he made his decision and he was just so hurt and damn. These writers really got me feeling a lil bad for him in that moment

I feel like they add another layer of nuance to understanding how he wrote the characters if you want to give them a listen.

The cake plot in Wednesday thickens. Rewatched 1x06 and in the crypt Xavier says he designed the cake, but later Tyler says he picked the flavor and delivered it so actually, what I think happened is, given the Hyde description says they're artistic: Xavier sent in the design, but Tyler actually made the thing and the cake, with everyone assuming it was the bakery. But it was Tyler. At home with a froofy apron and flour on his face.
