Today the far-right dominated Montana legislature, after first silencing her, plans to censure and expel its first elected trans woman member, Zooey Zephyr, just as the Tennessee legislature did to two young Black men.
All because she dared to condemn legislation that will kill and torture trans children -- something that Democratic Party leaders and Joe Biden have refused to condemn, much less take action against.
These attacks go far beyond the scope of electoral politics. They are attacks on the right of oppressed people to be represented or even speak on matters that directly affect them. Fortunately, there is a growing fight-back movement to #LetHerSpeak. I have no doubt that there will be a fierce struggle to restore her seat if she is expelled, as there was for Justin Jones and Justin Pearson in Tennessee.
"Blue check" fans of Elon Musk are now openly calling for the public executions of trans people, their families and their health care providers. This is a fight for the whole working class and progressive movement.
If you haven't spoken up, if you haven't joined a protest, if you haven't paid attention -- the time is now.

i wanna talk about the repeated use of “climb” in andor and rogue one, like, what is the action of climbing? it’s defined as a movement with effort going upwards but the keyword here, is: effort. to climb requires people to exert themselves in some way, to sacrifice energy. in exchange for this sacrifice, they get higher, out of their previous situation, and into a better one for all. but why is climbing being repeated so much? why is it that in every key aspect of andor and rogue one, someone is always telling another to “climb”?
it’s because they can’t stay and be content with where they are. things will never be stagnant, things will always need to get better. everything will inevitably change, and for that, people need to make that choice to continue climbing. to continue hoping for the better, to continue exerting themselves, to continue doing better. it’s not an “oh, we’ve reached our goal, it’s time for us to stop”, type of situation, it’s a “keep reaching for more, because there will always be more to reach for” type of situation.
revolutions have never and will never be inert. there will always be a movement out there that’s marching forward, climbing fueled by their own conscious will and hope, and i think that’s fucking amazing.

Plenty of people in Montana are disgusted by the bigots in the state legislature. In a state with a population that’s less than half that of Brooklyn, N.Y., a quarter-million people voted against Gianforte in the 2020 election for governor.
The bigots running the state certainly don’t speak for 75,000 Indigenous people living in Montana. State representative Johnathan Windy Boy, a member of the Chippewa Cree Tribal Council, defended Zooey Zephyr. He schooled the legislature about transgender people in Indigenous nations who are often called two-spirit.
The Mountain State’s lurch to the right betrays the militant history of the working class there. The Butte Miners Union was founded in 1878. Butte was known as the tightest union town on earth.
These unions, including the Western Federation of Miners, the Industrial Workers of the World, and the Mine, Mill, and Smelter Workers, waged strikes for decades.

Guys so today I snuck lyrics from the Hannah Montana theme song chorus into my dual credit reflection and I think it's hilarious:
This is why it is best to use both of the tactics, the best of both worlds. You see if the teacher chills it out and takes it slow, they can take off that pressure of learning it quickly, but can also help them through their struggles, while they still develop their own understanding. Teachers should be more a helping hand than someone feeding the information down students throats. The students will have a longer lasting understanding of the material so when time comes for them to use it, they can rock out the show. So, when thinking of which style to use a teacher should mix it all together. Then when you see the outcome you will know that it's the best

When my Honors Colloquium I class ended in 2017, our professor gave us all a copy of his favorite book, Man’s Search for Meaning by Frankl, with personalized messages written in each book. I just realized I never read it. I should change that.
