#Mike needs a guardian like Murray
Text
Jaclyn Lee, Libby Cathey, Isabella Murray, Mike Pappano, and Gina Sunseri at ABC News:
Three Republicans on Wednesday joined Democrats in the Arizona House to vote to repeal the state's controversial 1864 ban on nearly all abortions, which was revived by a court ruling earlier this month and which only includes exceptions to save the life of the pregnant woman.
The final vote was 32-28. "I've known for a while that the votes were there, it just takes a lot of fortitude, a lot of spine," Democratic state Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton, who sponsored the bill, told ABC News' Jaclyn Lee. Hamilton said she had several phone conversations with Republicans the night before the vote and while she would not divulge the details of those conversations, she said it made her cautiously optimistic. "The eyes of the world were watching Arizona, and that's not hyperbole, and so these are decisions that we need to make for people and if you were able to talk to folks in these districts, you would find that this is an issue where they are showing up and representing the people in their district, which is what they were elected to do," Hamilton said. The bill now heads to the state Senate where it could be taken up next week.
[...] The Senate on Wednesday separately conducted a second read of its own abortion ban repeal bill, without objection, setting up a parallel vote -- though that is likely moot now because the House bill has been approved. Two Republican senators have already said they will support the repeal effort, signaling the House bill should pass that chamber and then go to Gov. Katie Hobbs' desk to be signed into law. The repeal of the abortion ban would then take effect 90 days after the end of the legislative session, which must be before June 30.
[...] But leading conservatives like Trump, former Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Senate candidate Kari Lake have touted their general support for abortion restrictions while saying they don't back the 1864 ban.
On Wednesday, the Arizona House of Representatives voted 32-28 to repeal the 1864 near-total abortion ban. 3 Republicans crossed over to vote to repeal, along with all Democrats.
Next stop: the State Senate and then Gov. Katie Hobbs (D)'s desk.

Stranger Things character name meanings
And what do I think they mean for the show
In alphabetical order (unless I need to recap first grade):
Argyle: ”an Irishman, from the land of the Gaels”
This doesn’t probably mean much, but this is a Scottish name and for scottish people the irish people where obviously new people from a new place. And Argyle was a new person from a new place.
Barb: ”stranger" or "foreign"
Idk maybe they found it funny that the first UD death victim in Stranger Things was ”a stranger”
Bob: ”bright and fame”
He certainly brought brightness to Joyce
Dustin: ”the god Thor” and "stone"
Perhaps the Duffers see Dustin’s intelligence as a godly gift
Eddie: ”rich”, ”happy”, ”guardian” and/or ”friend”
He was all those things if by rich we think of a rich mind
Erica: ”eternal ruler, ever powerful"
Self-explanatory
Henry: ”home power/ruler”
He literally rules the UD and uses his powers from home
Holly: ”the clearing by the hollow”
I have no idea what this means
Jane: ”Yahweh is gracious/merciful"
Well, so is Jane
Jim: ”supplanter”
He supplanted papa as El’s dad
Jonathan: ”God has given”
Yes, he is a God given gift
Joyce: ”rejoice”
She doesn’t need much to be happy. And she rejoices people around her.
Karen: ”pure”
She’s trying to be as pure as possible
Lucas: ”Light”
He is light of so many lives!
Maxine: ”the greatest"
She is
Michael: "Who is like God?", "there is none like God", or "there is none as famous and powerful as God"
This is a little confusing (kinda like Mike’s mind) but I think this could refer to loyalty. And Mike is very loyal.
Murray: ”from the sea”
If Jack Sparrow was born 2 centuries later he would be Murray Bauman
Nancy: ”favour” or ”grace”
She is very graceful in her own badass way
Robin: "famous”, ”bright”, ”shining”
She is all those things
Steve: "garland" “victorious” or "crown"
He did eventually win a fight
William: "Vehement protector"
This applies for both Will and Billy. Billy died protecting El and I’m sure in s5 we will see Will protecting all his loved ones (but not by dying I will not allow that)
Additional note:
All the Byers-Hopper -family members name’s start with the letter J except Will’s. However, Will’s middle name is Jacob.
Jacob: "seizing by the heel", "supplanting", "may God protect"
The first two may also mean something, but I like the last one best. Jane and Jonathan’s names also had something to do with God, AND may God protect him in s5!!
Disclaimer: I googled all of these so if google is wrong, blame google. Bad google.
Now, I did this really quickly, but I might get into these better later and perhaps make some theories. But I would also like to see your theories if you can come up with them!

Stranger Things 3 or Why Do We Mourn Abusive Men?
Another season of Stranger Things has come and gone and I have lots of thoughts and in this piece, all of them are going to be pretty negative. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like the season. I actively enjoyed it. But I want that joy somewhere else, somewhere far from here where I scream and shout and ask the vital question of why we are asked to mourn abusive men?
SPOILERS (and Scoops) AHOY for the whole of Season 3!
Listening to a recap podcast of the show before the season aired, there was a prediction that Billy would become the villain in season 3. This gave me pause as I had been under the assumption he had already been the villain. From the moment we’re introduced to him in season 2, he’s presented as intensely aggressive, and as the season progresses, he is physically violent towards almost everyone, racist and manipulative. Sure, he may not be a supernatural demon from another dimension, but is that what it takes to classify someone as a villain? He’s a quantifiable piece of shit. We get about 30 seconds of backstory on him, he’s had an abusive childhood himself, but is that 30 seconds enough to ignore/erase/forgive his actions? In my books, no. Despite this tiny peek into Billy’s past, we’re really only ever given one side to his character. We never get a glimpse of any sort of multi-facet he might possess. On the other hand, a character like Steve Harrington, who at first was presented as a one-dimensional douche (and we expect him to remain in this archetype as it’s an archetype we’re familiar with, especially in this 80s world we’re living in), evolved and shifted and has been on a continuous character growth spurt. Billy on the other hand is narrowly written and poorly defined. There is no nuance.
By the end of season 2, he’s been brought down, maybe by a peg, by his sister Max, and seems slightly cowed by her assertiveness towards him. However, once season 3 starts, he’s back to his old ways, screaming and fat-shaming a young boy at the pool where he lifeguards, manipulating married women into affairs and just being physically menacing. He is very shortly thereafter ‘corrupted’ by the Mind Flayer, thereby becoming the supposed villain I believe he always was.
I’m not going to get into his whole trajectory throughout the season only to say that it continues to be one-note. It’s hard not to think that this would just be the way Billy would be behaving had he not been possessed, maybe minus the drinking of chemicals. His real self vs. his Mind Flayer self are hardly different. He’s just as maniacal, only now he has super-strength and sweats profusely (a side effect of getting possessed by the Mind Flayer during an Indiana summer).
By the end of the season, after literally torturing people and killing many others, Billy decides to sacrifice himself because El says some words about him surfing as a child, and much like the universally panned segment in Batman v. Superman (Martha???), those words seem to snap him out of his haze long enough to get gutted by the Mind Flayer. This action does momentarily distract the Mind Flayer from ripping El to pieces just as Joyce closes the gate, vaporizing everyone near the Russians’ machine (including Hopper, who I will get back to) and killing the Mind Flayer, but the moment lacked any emotional depth or feeling. This heart-to-heart probably would have been better served from Max, the original target of Billy’s ire, instead of someone Billy mind-melded with for a minute. And this ‘heroic’ act of self-sacrifice is somehow supposed to balance out every other shitty thing we’ve seen him do for the past two seasons? I don’t think so. All I felt after it was all said and done was a mild sense of relief.
Max is BEREFT at the loss of Billy, her psychotic step-brother, and again, there is nothing to substantiate this reaction. They have literally never had a positive interaction and it is not fair to the viewer to have us pretend that this makes sense with no backstory to support it. It’s also disrespectful that now we are being told through music cues and Max’s reaction that WE are also supposed to be bereft by this loss. Billy may have done one selfless act in the 17 episodes we’ve seen him in but I will not mourn him. I will sing no requiem for the man who caused physical harm to his sister, almost ran over some pre-teens to scare his sister, violently assaulted his classmate until he had to be subdued by his sister… no. I will not be told to mourn that.
That brings me to the other major death we had this season (that is, if you believe he’s actually dead, which, with the current evidence we have, is not certain, but I’m going on the assumption that he is). Breaking the rule that if your name starts with the letter B, the Duffer Brothers have it in for you, Jim Hopper bites it in spectacular fashion. After finally getting rid of the Russian monkey on his back, he is stuck next to the deadly machine that is opening up the gate to the Upside Down. With no way of getting back to safety, Hopper solemnly nods to Joyce and she vaporizes him and closes the gate, saving the day. This loss is definitely a bigger one, Hopper has been a huge part of all three seasons of Stranger Things, and integral to the story. However, for some reason, this season he just sucks. What came off as loveable grump in the first two seasons is now coming off as raging asshole in the third. As the legal guardian of El, admittedly rightly perturbed by the physicality and closeness that has developed between El and Mike, Hopper begins the season by flipping his lid. El and Mike are preteens swapping a lot of spit and that’s a lot for Hopper to take. I get that. I, as the viewer, found myself more than once hoping the kissing scenes would get cut short. This begins Hopper’s tirade of aggression throughout the season. He is seemingly unable to use his words thoughtfully and must resort to threats to separate Mike and El. It only goes downhill from there where he assaults the corrupt mayor of Hawkins and almost chops his finger off in a cigar cutter. Later in the season he shoots down a bunch of Russian soldiers for no other reason then he was tired of waiting for Murray (a welcome surprise to the season, and almost made me forget how much I hate Brett Gelman’s character in Fleabag) to calm them down. We’ve seen people casually killed in Stranger Things before. El has killed her fair share of people before in acts of self-preservation. However, all of this seemed more and more extreme with Hopper. Last season we see him almost exclusively fighting supernatural creatures and for him to turn that aggression on people felt scary. It didn’t help that most of this season found him yelling at someone for things not going his way. He began to come off as petulant with a gun.
So by the end of the season, when Joyce is left with no choice but to destroy him for the greater good, I was again left with a hollowness. My sadness was not for the loss of Hopper but for those who had lost him. Had Hopper been axed last season, it would have had a much greater resonance. He had just begun to become the father that El needed, he was the friend that Joyce wanted and though he may have screwed up here and there, you always felt that he was trying. There was always an underlying goodness. To have that loss last season would have been a gut punch. To have it delayed to the end of this season and to see his character shift so negatively, it felt shallow instead.
There were so many positives this season, like the evolution of El’s and Max’s friendship, the introduction of the intriguing Robin, bringing back fan-favourite Erica for a larger role, any and all Steve content… Unfortunately, I felt the season was weighed down by aggressive men and the unrealistic belief that we should come to care for them. The show may be set in the 80s, but it’s 2019. It’s time to stop relying on this trope. Now that those two characters are out, what will season 4 bring? Murray as a main character? More Mr. Clarke (who was criminally underused, but shone in his scenes)? No adult men at all? We play the waiting game once more to see what Hawkins ‘86 has to offer.
And tomorrow… my top 10 moments from Stranger Things 3.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Rankings: Russell Wilson vs. Kyler Murray highlights matchups to prep for
The Guardian
Ryan Fitzpatrick is main the happiest march to obsolescence in NFL historical past
The Dolphins quarterback is preserving the starter’s spot heat for Tua Tagovailoa in Miami. However like a lot of his profession, he’s doing so with fashion and skillWhen Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa made his NFL debut through the remaining drive of Sunday’s 24-Zero annihilation of the New York Jets, nobody appeared happier than the person he’ll at some point exchange, Ryan Fitzpatrick. The 37-year-old led the sparse house crowd in an ovation with a smile so massive it nearly outdid his magnificent beard. And why not? Fitzpatrick is aware of that is his group solely briefly. He accepts and embraces it. However within the meantime, he’s balling. Fitzpatrick is seventh within the league in QBR and will stay in that territory after tossing three touchdowns towards the Jets. (He additionally threw two interceptions, certainly one of which was the 0-6 Jets’ few highlights of the season.) His 70% completion charge is the best of his profession and he’s helming a scrappy group coming off back-to-back blowout wins. The Dolphins are a pleasure to observe nowadays with a lot of the enjoyment rooted in Fitzpatrick. After Miami topped Jacksonville in Week 3’s bonanza of facial hair quarterbacks, Fitzpatrick was elated. “I really feel just like the luckiest man on this planet typically, attending to go outdoors and play soccer with my mates,” he informed reporters. Fitzpatrick has a refreshing happy-to-be-here side to his profession however he’s additionally sensible, robust and helpful sufficient to be an ideal cease hole for any franchise. Simply ask the Rams, Bengals, Invoice, Titans, Texans, Jets, Bucs and now Dolphins. Fitzpatrick won’t ever be the tallest or quickest in a quarterback room, however nobody will prime his willpower. Fitzpatrick’s journey was detailed by Yahoo this this summer season, a journey that concerned battling to win beginning quarterback job at Highland Excessive in Gilbert, Arizona, then transferring up the depth chart at Harvard, earlier than consistently having to reprove his price to a litany of NFL franchises. Some quarterbacks are branded as starters, some as backups. Fitzpatrick is in his personal distinctive class the place he so generally emerges because the starter that you just lose monitor of whether or not or not it was by design.Fitzpatrick is a wonderment not due to his stronger-than-you-think arm, his escapability, and even his endless beard. It’s his self-awareness. It’s his skill to know that he’s a placeholder but take the sector like he owns the group. It’s his skill to encourage his teammates. “Fitz is only a healthful particular person. The way in which he’s out on the sector is identical means he’s off the sector,” Tagovailoa informed ESPN this week. “I don’t suppose there’s actually a definite change in who he’s. I imply, what you see out there’s actually who Fitz is. He’s a coach. He’s a mentor on and off the sector. However he’s additionally a really, very family-oriented particular person. Very loving. Very caring for guys. And he’s humorous, too. He’s actually humorous.”It’s uncertain that Aaron Rodgers will likely be leaping for pleasure when Jordan Love takes the sector nor would most quarterbacks once they can see their current turn into their previous within the flesh. However Fitzpatrick is a unique breed. His pleasure for Tagovailoa’s entrance illuminated his objective as each a bridge and a mentor. Like Patrick Mahomes with Alex Smith, Tagovailoa entered the NFL in an idyllic state of affairs. In Fitzpatrick, he acquired a mentor that not solely leads by instance however who genuinely needs the child to succeed. It’s one factor to look at how a lot time a teammate places into movie research, it’s one other when that teammate additionally cares about you as a human and needs to information you thru the whole thorny panorama that’s the NFL. That’s Fitz. Each every so often, it seems like Fitzpatrick is destined to be the man underneath middle. However the baton will likely be handed off, and probably quickly. Till then, Fitzpatrick will hold partaking in a quarterback arc that’s charmed and uniquely his. Stat of the weekThe Patriots are underneath .500 this late within the season for the primary time since 2002. For many groups a 2-Three file wouldn’t be trigger for panic. It would even be trigger for celebration when you reside within the NFC East. However this season has been a serious pivot for the Patriots who had a reserved seat within the playoffs for the final 20 years. The Pats had been sloppy on each side of the ball in a 18-12 house loss to the Broncos. Cam Newton, now recovered from Covid-19, was sacked 4 instances and had no offensive weaponry or safety. There may be the apparent excuse of little to no follow time given the ability’s Covid-19 closure over a lot of the previous two weeks. However in contrast to the Titans, who overcame the identical hurdles and crushed the Payments final Thursday, the Pats don’t look like a group with a lot depth or overwhelming expertise at this level. MVP of the week> THAT’S ROYALTY!

All hail King Henry who placed on a clinic in Tennessee’s scintillating 42-36 additional time win towards the Texans. When JJ Watt strip-sacked Ryan Tannehill, a turnover that resulted in a landing and Houston taking the lead, it appeared like a serious momentum shift. However Henry answered with a jaw-dropping-how-does-a-man-that-big-have-those-jets 94 yard landing. Henry was additionally instrumental in additional time, barreling upfield on a 53-yard display screen after which scoring the game-winner on a direct snap. Henry ended with 212 dashing yards and have become the primary participant in NFL historical past with 200-yard video games in three consecutive seasons. May he be probably the most harmful rusher since Adrian Peterson in his prime? Video of the week> Aaron Rodgers took a tough hit ultimately zone, then he instantly obtained up and hit them with a “double pump.” Absolute savage

pic.twitter.com/fjDOyKSnrz> > — FOX Sports activities: NFL (@NFLonFOX) October 18, 2020 Aaron Jones ran in a one-yard landing within the first quarter for Inexperienced Bay but it surely was the opposite Aaron who actually felt the second. Sure, Aaron Rodgers carried out the Hingle McCringleberry extreme celebration sketch, a fictional soccer participant made well-known from Key and Peele. Quote of the week“We’re one of the best protection on this league” – Bears inside linebacker Danny Trevathan. It’s laborious to argue with Trevathan after the Bears’ protection turned in one other dominating, opportunistic defensive efficiency, topping Carolina 23-16. They had been flat out stifling as the sport progressed, particularly the run stuffers. As Kevin Fishbain of the Athletic factors out the Bears allowed Panthers rusher Mike Davis to gather 40 yards on eight carries. However after that they held him to 12 yards on 10 carries. The Bears now sit at a really wholesome 5-1 and the protection saving the offense appears to be a theme for Chicago this season – and nearly all of their seasons. Elsewhere across the league– The arrival of Tom Brady put a whole lot of deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense however their protection is among the finest within the league. They made Rodgers look unusual, whereas they harassed him all afternoon because the Bucs inflicted the Inexperienced Bay Packers’ first lack of the season. Certainly, the Bucs protection was so dominant that Rodgers was pulled within the fourth-quarter to guard him from additional punishment.– After accidents to the Jags’ first 4 kickers this season, they reached deep into the pile and pulled out … somebody who had by no means tried a subject aim at any stage. Jon Brown was a soccer participant at Louisville earlier than transferring to Kentucky to play soccer the place he grew to become a kickoff specialist. However even with out the expertise, Brown drilled his first-ever try like a seasoned vet, although he did miss a 32-yarder later in Jacksonville’s 34-16 loss to the Lions.– Steelers-Browns didn’t fairly reside as much as its Sport of the Week billing. Pittsburgh clobbered Cleveland 38-7, once more showcasing their elite wideout scouting with James Washington becoming a member of Chase Claypool as a pressure. The Steelers protection, aided by a key Minkah Fitzpatrick interception, regarded much more stout than final week. Steelers-Ravens in Week eight must be on everybody’s calendars.– Interim Texans head coach Romeo Crennel had the controversial teaching transfer of the week. The Texans scored with 1:50 left and took a seven-point lead. As an alternative of kicking it to place Houston up eight, Crennel rolled the cube and tried to go for a win with a two-point conversion.– The NFL woke to nice information in Sunday, when zero Covid-19 checks got here again optimistic.– Presumptive No1 total choose Trevor Lawrence carried out his newest masterpiece Saturday, his ridiculous arm and determination making guiding Clemson to an historic 73-7 rout of Georgia Tech. Already up 52-7 on the half, Lawrence left the sport after one second-half sequence with 5 touchdowns, 405 yards, and all quarterback-deficient NFL groups salivating.– Vikings followers, how are you feeling about Kirk Cousins’ $66m assured contract extension? Yikes. He threw three touchdowns in Minnesota’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons … and in addition three interceptions. “The truth is that if the tempo I’m on when it comes to the interceptions, if that had been to proceed, I received’t end the season,” Cousins stated. He’s proper.

Stranger Things ‘Chapter Nine: The Gate’
Well, we’ve come to the end of an awesome season! Seriously, this episode had me either on the edge of my seat in fear, crying because of how emotional it was, or not being able to wipe the smile off my face.
Eleven is back! She has an emotional reunion with Mike. He tells her he called her everyday and she says she knew. She heard. Awww!! But then Mike finds out that Hopper has been hiding her for almost a year, and he lashes out at him. It broke my heart when he broke down in tears. He’s been missing her so much and this whole time Hopper has known where she is. I know that must be really tough for him to comprehend.
El reunites with the rest of the gang, and Joyce, which was so sweet! But she gives the cold shoulder to Max, which I think is a little harsh. She doesn’t even know her.
They all split up. Hopper and Eleven go to the lab, where they need to close the gate. Joyce, Jonathan and Nancy take Will to Hopper’s cabin. And Steve stays with the kids at the Byers.
Will’s journey this episode was intense. I could feel his pain through the screen. His screams gave me chills. That actor is phenomenal. He’s tied to the bed and heaters are put on and fires are set. The room is boiling to try to kill the minster inside of him. But it seems to slowly be killing him and that was tough to watch.
Joyce got so mad and just wanted her son back. And she was remembering Bob, and how this monster inside her son is the reason he died. She turns up the heat to immeasurable temperatures, almost killing Will. Jonathan is really worried, but Nancy gives the final push and places a hot knife on him an the monster leaves him. Fuck!!!! That whole scene was fucking intense and made me squirm and cry, but Will is back! He’s himself again. After all that kid has been through, it’s really great for him to finally be back.
Steve has taken over the role of babysitter of the kids. He promised to keep them safe, and that’s what he’s going to do. He doesn’t want to indulge in their crazy plan to lure the monsters away from the lab to give Eleven time to close the gate.
Billy goes to the Wheeler’s house in search of Max. This scene was hilarious! He full on flirts with Mike’s mother, who just took a bath. I was both cringey and ridiculous but i loved it. Well, he finds out Max isn’t there, so he goes onto the Byers house next.
Billy turns up at the Byers and starts a huge fight. But Steve protects the kids, like he promised he would. Although it doesn’t go very well for him. The fight was brutal, and Steve was getting his ass beaten. But he didn’t give up. The kids are cheering on, and Max has the brilliant idea of jabbing a sedative into her step brother. He’s down and Steve is barely conscious. Max tells Billy to never mess with her or her friends again, and almost hits him with the nail laden bat. Good on Max! She finally stood up to her brother.
Steve is completely out of it, so the kids take things into their own hands and head to the tunnel. Max drives, even though she’s 13 and doesn’t know how to drive. She somehow manages to get them there safely. Steve freaks out when she sees this kid driving a car! It was hilarious when he woke up he thought that Mike was Nancy!
They go into the tunnels, Steve taking the lead. He does eventing he can to protect the kids. They spread gasoline and then set it on fire, causing an explosion. The demodogs go away, except for one. Dart.
It turns out that Dustin did have a special connection to Dart, and he does remember him. This scene warmed my heart. This monster from another dimension actually did care for its caretaker. He feeds him some nougat and they safely pass by him.
Steve helps the kids up out of the tunnels, but then a horde of demodogs come running at him and Dustin. But, luckily they run right on past, because Eleven has been working on closing the gate and they’re all in a rush to get there.
Eleven and Hopper made up on their way to the lab. El tells him that she found her mother. She doesn’t say anymore, except for the fact that she looks ‘bitchin’ with her new makeover. Her new favourite word. Oh I love their relationship! Hopper tells Eleven that he had a daughter, but now she’s gone. He locked El up because he didn’t want to go through the pain of losing Sarah all over again. Such a beautiful moment between the two of them.
Eleven bravely enters the lab, considering it’s where she went through years of torture. They head down the pit to the gate. Hopper keeps watch as Eleven uses all the power she has, channeling all of her anger the way Kali taught her to, into closing the gate. This scene was incredibly powerful. The red lighting, and El working as hard as she can to close the gate. I was holding my breath the whole time and got goosebumps when the gate finally closed.
Eleven collapses into Hoper arms, blood coming out of both nostrils because of how much power that took out of her. She is completely exhausted, but she’s alive. She’s alive and she closed the gate.
It’s all over, and things start to conclude. Murray’s watered down story has made the news. We finally get real justice for Barb. It’s reported that she was killed by toxic chemicals that leaked from the Hawkin’s Lab. It’s not quite the truth, the truth is a lot messier, but it’s something. She’s finally been given a farewell.
Hawkin's Lab is shut down, which is a huge victory! They’ve gotten away with way too much stuff, and this is just so damn satisfying. For El and for everyone else who was put though hell because of it.
Dr Owens gives Hopper a birth certificate for Eleven. It says that he is the father and Eleven’s name is ‘Jane Hopper’. She now officially has parents, and Hopper is her legal guardian! That makes my heart so happy!
The Snowball Dance! Dustin got some Farah Fawcett hairspray, and Steve gave him some advice. He dropped him off as if he’s his own child, which was so adorable. I did feel bad for Steve when he sees Nancy, and then sadly drives off.
Dustin is declined by all the girls, but he gets to dance with Nancy, who he’s had a crush on for years. That was so sweet and nice of her. Will got to dance with someone, and Lucas and Max danced together, and Max even gave him a quick kiss.
And finally, Mike and Eleven have a dance. They both don’t really know how to dance, but it’s so sweet. They share a kiss too. That whole final scene made my heart smile. The music, the atmosphere, it was the perfect ending for these kids.
Everything is peaceful and back to normal… or is it? Everything turns Upside Down and the shadow monster is lurking over the Upside Down version of the school.
What a fantastic ending to this phenomenal season! This episode was damn near perfect. The conflict of the season was resolved, and everything ended on such a positive and beautiful note.
My favourite parts about the season were Eleven and Hopper’s relationship and Steve’s transformation from douche to dad of these four kids. I didn’t really like Steve in S1. I mean he got redeemed a little towards the end, but this season just completely changed my view of him. He’s my new favourite character.
Hopper and Eleven’s relationship is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. They act like a real father and daughter. They fight, and Hopper does eventing he thinks is best for her, even though she doesn’t see it that way. And he admitted that he was a little harsh and in the wrong sometimes. I just love the dynamic of those two.
The kids were fantastic as ever. I loved the whole Dart storyline. Max was a great new character for the show, and I hope next season she really becomes in with their group.
Bob Newby, superhero. We all knew he wan’t going to last when he was intercede, but that didn’t make his death hurt any less. He deserved so much better.
Will was incredible this season. He was barely in S1 so it was great to get see more of his character, and the ramifications of what he went through last season. He was full on possessed for quite a big chunk of the season, and Noah Shnapp was absolutely phenomenal playing the role. He completely blew me away.
Mike and Eleven’s reunion was so beautiful and touching. I’ve grown attached to these characters and seeing them reunite really pulled at the heart strings.
I’ve wanted Nancy and Jonathan to be together since the start of the show, and I think they got together at the right time. As much as I feel bad for Steve, I’m sure he’s want Nancy to be happy, and she obviously wasn’t with him.
The only thing that brought the season down was ‘The Lost Sister’ episode. It just took me out of a world and stalled the momentum of the season. I appreciate the back story and extension of the world, but it just felt completely out of place.
Overall, a fantastic season full of so many great moments. I look forward to seeing what Season 3 has to offer!

BBC Sherlock| Shoulder Angels| T
Synopsis:It would figure that Sherlock Holmes’ shoulder angel carried a gun and his shoulder devil didn’t wear his wings as they clashed with his Westwood suits.
The day Sherlock Holmes was born, Shoulder Entities agencies in both Heaven and Hell had been completely overturned in panic. Mere seconds after Sherlock had cried out his first breath, a note on his file showed up in heaven.
Jim Moriarty was his shoulder devil.
The Director was said to have slammed his head down on the considerably big file of the youngest Holmes. It was a stack of blank papers and documents about five inches long. Except for his Birth Certificate, they were all blank; as many papers would be filled along the course of his human life. It later would baffle many angels and demons that noticed, oddly enough a death certificate would be in the middle of the file with no explanation.
This was all pretty routine, a human was born, and they would either have volunteers already lined up for a soul as soon as they were conceived, or they would be assigned one their first day on earth.
No one wanted to work with Jim Moriarty, and several angels who were considered threatened to hand in their resignation.
Even Irene had declined because of her first dibs on a new soul that would desperately need her. And she wasn’t sure that she could keep both her charge and herself alive with Moriarty there.
No one blamed her.
The last angel to partner with Jim was still in therapy. He’d been given permission to handle pens just last decade.
“Oh! Thank goodness you’re here!”
John smiled awkwardly at that and raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the frazzled looking secretary. She tried to make herself seem less desperate and forced herself to not clutch at his lapels. During this the man he came to see came out of a nearby office.
“John! Good to see you, and just the angel I was looking for.” Mike Stamford smiled and exchanged looks with the secretary who slumped back in her chair and gave off the relieved of someone whose washed their hands of a very messy problem.
John was beginning to question his decision to meet his old friend again. Especially suspicious that he asked him to meet in the Reassignment office in what amounted to neutral territory.
“There was a bit of an uproar in Up There and Down Here, have you heard?”
John was tempted to ask if gossip was all Mike called him out for but refrained. There was an air of someone leading to something and to humor them.
“I noticed something was up, but I never got too many details. Something about a human…?”
“Yep,” Mike beamed,“There’s this one human born, and his future is so ambivalent that there’s a perfect 50/50 chance to go either way. Not to mention they feel this one’s gonna send waves out in the human world. Heard his file was 5 inches thick too.”
John whistled, his own file was 3 inches thick, and he was a good bit older than even Mike, who remembered the old days when Lucifer was still sporting a pair of pearly white wings.
Out on a tangent Mike asked about his latest charge. John grimaced and rubbed at his shoulder, feeling an answering twinge in his leg.
“He’s getting settled pretty well Up There, went to have a drink with him once or twice this past month.”
Mike seemed to realize he’d hit a still sore spot because all he said was a “That’s good news at least.” before nodding at his shoulder and wing.
“Still bothering you then? That wound.”
“Yep. You’d think after a century or so it would begin to heal properly but no—"He cut himself off, the last word spitted out with old bitterness, hand shaking where once he would have been steadier than a rock. He took a calming breath and was suddenly so glad that he wasn’t conversing with someone from home. They would have frowned at his showing of negative emotions and checked that his wings were still feathery and glowing with angelic power.
Demons, on the other hand didn’t put up too much fuss when confronted with an angel getting snippy, as long as any and all holy weapons were kept sheathed. Mike held true and didn’t remark or seem to notice anything out of character, at least outwardly.
On his bad days, John sometimes wondered what it said about him that he felt more at ease conversing with demons that most other angels.
Especially since most of his demonic acquaintances were those he had fought fiercely during the Great War against. And hadn’t killed.
Mike brought him back from his reverie, whip-like tail waving through the air in a decidedly languid fashion. "So, do you have another charge for Guardianship?”
Another twinge, but this one was almost easily ignored. “Not really, I don’t think I can go through that so soon,” His wings settled in a tight manner close to him. Bill Murray was the first human under his new job as a Guardian Angel, after a couple of years after being honorably discharged from Warrior Angel status by a lucky shot through his shoulder and wing both during a skirmish between demons that the Angelic Forces decided to crash. His hands weren’t steady anymore, and his healing was iffy.
He could see why he was discharged, an angel who couldn’t confidently heal others or aim correctly wasn’t any use in a war. He was more a liability.
It didn’t stop the feelings of uselessness.
So as soon as the full body spasms stopped completely and his healer confirmed that the malicious energy in his wound had finally been purged away, he had registered himself for Guardianship. And had been given Bill Murray, a chance to actually see the human world for the first time, and his sense of duty back.
In protecting little Billy from dangers, scrapes and trying to do life damage control; John lost his limp, and his hand was ever steady, his Angelic Will never faltering. He had never felt so alive and useful and such a deep abiding Love for a human. Ever since he had glimpsed his soul as the first thing to see coming down to earth, he had been given the Guardian Angel’s defining characteristic to so purely love their human charges.
He had taken years to study human medicine and had endeared himself to a strange succubus who went by different monikers every year or so on one of his trips to Hell, sword at ready, to visit Mike and ask a favor for human healing practice. Mike had actually gone up to the human world and earned a degree in medicine, and so had been a great help.
Anthea, however, had merely tagged along and steered him clear of less tolerant demons with an easy air. She never failed to show up every time he came before Hell’s gate. It was strange, but John didn’t mind, it was nice to have someone to chat with and eventually he noticed the burning curiosity of the human world that she had.
It took some serious sneaking around and some indecent flirting with a demon who guarded a little used gate, but he eventually had permission to bring Anthea (who was now called Athena, but John had been introduced to her as Anthea and so Anthea she had stayed to him) with him.
They attended Bill’s college courses, with John sneaking glances at another student’s medical text, and with Anthea taking everything in with the wide curious eyes that endeared her to him. He guided her through his knowledge of the human world that he had painstakingly learned in his years of Guardianship.
Last he had seen her was when she had shown up at Heaven’s gate, almost started an altercation with a guard and had hugged him tightly, cracking his ribs as he tried to explain that,no, she wasn’t here to cause trouble and yes, they were friends.
Anthea had applied for a human of her own to tempt as a shoulder devil. He had patted her shoulders proudly and felt the disbelieving stares of other angels as he exclaimed that he knew she would do a damned good job.
Hanging around with Bill and his army mates had done wonders for his swearing capacities.
She had only sent missives for the past years, and John amused her and her charge by sending scrolls of gold and silver in a show of pompous angelic grace use.
And then Bill had gone to Afghanistan. Most of the other Guardian Angels in his squad were relatively new to this human war, he ran himself ragged and stopped distinguishing his charge and theirs. Every human was their charge, and sometimes another angel covered for him while he recharged his “batteries” impatiently in Heaven as keeping bullets off their mark took more energy out of his Presence than merely keeping his form on Earth would.
It worked out great, for the most part, after the new angels began to fall in line like true warriors. And then everything was gone, in a single skirmish, most of their human charges were dead and their Guardians subsequently whisked off to Heaven. Bill had seen him, and closed his eyes and not opened them again. He flew back to Heaven with tears in his eyes and Bill’s soul cradled protectively in his hands.
No. He didn’t think he could do that again.
A paper was thrust in his face, and he momentarily went cross-eyed trying to focus out the words at the top.
Oh no. No, no, no, nope. No way. He slapped it back down.
“C'mon John!” Mike, that old tempter, wheedled,” No other angel is stepping up to plate because of Jim; would you really leave someone to a Moriarty’s mercy?” That gave him pause, he frowned at Mike.
“Moriarty?”
“The grandson of his, yeah. Goes by Jim. Got his last charges sent here early. Put other angels in intensive therapy.” Mike grinned the smuggest grin not seen since a snake got Eve to eat an apple.
John’s face didn’t move but his hand slowly steadied, his eyes scanned the waiting room they’d been sitting in. “Get real Mike. Look at me.” Spreading his arms, his left lower as to not irritate his wound. His sword clanged lightly from his hip, his ever present armor gleamed almost ominously in the cool lighting.“Who’d want me for a conscience?”
He was a Warrior first and foremost, and a small part of him wanted to sign up if only to see how he fared pitted against the latest Moriarty. A human didn’t need that kind of violence residing in the angel giving out good advice.
“I got word from a contact of mine.” No names were mentioned of course, Mike was nothing if not discreet, “There’s a death certificate smack dab in the middle of his file.” It would be a terribly powerful clairvoyant to see the words in the blank page of a human’s life.
John’s sword gave a gentle humming sound, and John cursed internally as Mike took out a pen and waved it in his face.
“No matter what you say about getting old,” John grumbled as he jotted down his info, “You still manage the temptations of man pretty well from where I’m standing.”
Mike grinned even wider the snakey bastard.
They got a confirmation not ten seconds after it was sent. Along with a sad little sticky with the words, “BLESS YOU.” in thick, underlined block letters.
John didn’t think it was very angelic, but he couldn’t deny the satisfaction he felt in flipping Mike off before unfurling his wings and taking off.
His laughter followed him all the way.

Dickheads of the Month: April 2019
As it seems that there are people who say or do things that are remarkably dickheaded yet somehow people try to make excuses for them or pretend it never happened, here is a collection of some of the dickheaded actions we saw in the month of April 2019 to make sure that they are never forgotten.
It was one calamity after another for The Independent Hashtag Change Group Ltd throughout the course of the month, starting with the party limited company being informed that they would not be allowed to use their logo on European election ballots due to some genius having the idea to put a hashtag slogan on the logo.  If that wasn't bad enough, soon the party leader Heidi Allen (not to be confused with the bloke who keeps turning up to meetings of party leaders Chuka Umunna) declaring that they would both support Theresa May in the face of any No Confidence vote in Parliament and they were opposed to a general election, which served to make an easy punchline out of them calling themselves Change UK...except when they keep calling themselves TIG, which is the exact reason they weren’t allowed to use their chosen logo on the European election ballot papers.  And then when they announced their candidates for the European elections things rapidly went south when Nora Mulready was found to have posted Islamophobic comments and shared far-right material online while Ali Sadjady was found to have described all Romanian migrants as pickpockets and thieves - and then the ultimate irony came when antisemitic comments from Frances Weetman came to light, meaning that evidence of racism, antisemitism and Islamophobia were evident from their candidates, and all that the party limited company could do was bleat about “smears” as if a sizable percentage of their MPs has not been screeching “Corbyn’s an antisemite!!!” for over a year
With crocodile tears in her eyes Anna Soubry told the BBC how terrible it was that Nick Boles’ customs union proposal lost in parliament by 21 votes and that, with Boles being bullied out of the Tories by UKIP entryists in his local party, he would be welcome in The Independent Group Ltd - somehow neglecting to mention that she and her ten mates in The Independent Group Ltd all voted against Boles’ proposal, which is not just a funny way to show how welcome he would be in the party but also means that those eleven votes were the reason his proposal failed in parliament
Waffling gargoyle Nigel Farage announced his new political party that would oppose the EU by having him re-elected to the EU Parliament so he could continue collecting his MEP’s salary in spite his long-standing record of only bothering to turn up if he’s got a video to film for his Youtube channel (before he promptly buggers off as soon as he finishes speaking), but his party is completely legitimate and clearly represents the views of the common man based on their unveiling of their first candidate...Annunziata Rees-Mogg
All the work that Jacob Rees-Mogg has put in to proving himself to be the Europhobe’s Europhobe for the last couple of years came crashing down when he started sharing Alternative für Deutschland posts on Twitter - so not only could he be criticised for sharing material from a far-right group, but the support he’s cultivated for the past two years were frothing at the mouth because he had the gall to share material from a foreign far-right party
Seemingly emboldened by bullying both Boles and Dominic Grieve out of the Tory party, doing a lap of honor Andy Wigmore took to Twitter to threaten any Tory MP who opposed Britait would face deselection - which, considering Wigmore is not a member of the Tory party, immediately confirms the entryism into the Tory party from Arron Banks’ far-right mob that has been taking place
With Labour once again surging in the polls Margaret Hodge took the only action she could think of, which was to secretly tape her talking with Jeremy Corbyn on the subject of antisemitism and then promptly leak the tape to the Sunday Times to prove...I have no idea what she was trying to prove, because releasing the audio strengthened Corbyn’s position while making her look like her agenda has made her legitimately deranged
The far-centre extremists at The Guardian decided, quite coincidentally the day before the local elections, that JA Hobson’s Imperialism was antisemitic all because Jeremy Corbyn wrote a foreword for the 2011 edition - somehow failing to consider that not only had several other people written forewords for this edition, but previous people to speak favourably of the book include Gordon Brown in 2005, Tony Blair in 1995 and...well this is awkward, The Guardian themselves, not least because Hobson previously wrote for them
Having announced his retirement from MMA competition Conor McGregor wanted to give his fanbase one final reminder of what he was like at his peak - but once again making bigoted comments about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s religion, knowing full well that his retirement means Khabib wouldn’t be caving his face in like the last time McGregor spent months making bigoted comments about his religion
Of course Alan Sugar was going to take to Twitter and voice his opinion of Jeremy Corbyn, it’s what he does - and just like every other time he made a complete bellend of himself, first by suggesting that renationalising the UK rail industry is “communism” in spite of the minor fact that countless countries across Europe have nationalised rail industries that are significantly cheaper and more efficient than the privatised mess in the UK, and he followed that up by saying how terrible socialism is while speaking fondly of growing up in a council flat...you know, things that were provided due to social housing programs
Somehow not learning that exposing his ignorance of subjects he mouths off about on Twitter doesn’t work out well for him, it wasn’t long before Alan Sugar once again took to Twitter to give his opinion on Jeremy Corbyn’s plans for income tax - where he demonstrating an alarming lack of understanding of how income tax works, not least with his belief that those earning £100k p/a would pay the same rate as those earning £1m (they wouldn’t) and then veering off into outright making shit up about 70% tax rates
In response to Moise Kean being racially abused by Cagliari fans, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri and centre back Leonardo Bonucci both came to the same conclusion: Kean was at least 50% responsible for celebrating the goal he just scored, which is the exact thing that a player who has been racially abused wants to hear from his manager and one of his teammates
Having apparently not seen the Brass Eye special from 2002 Gordan Strachan came out in defence of convicted child molester Adam Johnson by saying that if he ever set foot on the pitch again the abuse he would receive is just another form of racism...this being the Adam Johnson who was jailed for grooming an underage girl for sex, who has been barred from any activity where he comes into direct contact with youngsters (i.e. ballboys and mascots for football matches), has to sign on the sex offenders register for several years, and contrary to what Strachan said has not served his sentence as he was released on license
Proving that some politicians really haven’t figured out that people can see what they post on social media was prospective Labour councillor Bob Murray who thought it was a very, very clever thing to post that Hitler had the right idea about travelers and asked if anyone could rustle up some gas canisters, a post which subsequently saw him suspended from the party for being a bigoted moron - although quite why The Board of Deputies of British Jews felt the need to issue a statement about this considering that he did not make any antisemitic comments, especially when they did not feel the need to issue statements when Tory councilors such as Bob Frost and Mike Bird made equally bigoted comments, does beg to be asked
Sentient testicle Toby Young appears to be really, really triggered by Greta Thunberg based on him spending several days tweeting any half-baked insult he could think of about her, all of which culminated in deciding that, as her mother once represented Sweden at Eurovision, this makes Greta “privileged” and she should shut her trap - which only serves to underline the complete lack of self-awareness the sentient testicle has, given he only got into Cambridge because his life peer father had a word with the head of admissions after his son tanked his A-Levels
In the space of an interview with The New Statesman Roger Scruton managed to use bizarre conspiracy theories about George Soros that were dripping with undercurrents of antisemitism, be incredibly Islamophobic while also claiming that Islamophobia doesn’t exist and is merely used as a gag to avoid criticism, and wrapped the whole thing up with the old chestnut of saying all Chinese people look the same - so of course, after the Tories removed him from his role of housing tsar we got the usual crap from the usual crapheads, with Paul Joseph Watson agreeing that Islamophobia doesn’t exist so he shouldn’t have been sacked, while GuidoBlog talking of his “greatness”, his treatment was “appalling” according to Melanie Phillips howling into the void, according to Adrian Hilton he’s one of our greatest aesthetes so apparently can be an ignorant bigot to his heart’s content, and sentient testicle Toby Young bawled something about political correctness gone mad...oh, and The Board of Deputies of British Jews weren’t rushing to issue a statement, even though they couldn’t get one out fast enough about Bob Murray the previous day
Of course Roger Scruton wasn’t quite done, as he followed up with some blather about conservative voices being silenced in the media...in a series of radio interviews, which were in response to the criticism he received for an interview with The New Statesman and other comments from interviews with The Spectator, all of which undermines his comment just a tad...
On a similar note Fraser Nelson opined in the Telegraph that the young have never heard the case for Conservatism in the media...especially not in the Telegraph, Daily Mail or Daily Express which do nothing but espouse Conservatism, let alone the BBC and their continued dereliction of duty that now has them straight up pretending Labour policy announcements don’t exist so they can continue telling the world the wonders of Conservatism and let various Conservatives speak unopposed no matter how many lies and falsehoods they litter their interviews on the Today programme with every single week.  Or, you know, the fact the Tories have been in power since 2010, which is surely the case for Conservatism as being in power is the only thing the Tories care about
Of course the Notre Dame fire led to the usual “iT wUZ teRRurIzm” howling from the usual suspects from the alt-right, with Michael Savage, Jesse Lee Peterson and Mindy Robinson all being quick to tweet that out while Paul Joseph Watson spammed the exact same tweet accusing Buzzfeed of lying a dozen times in the space of an hour that somehow didn’t trigger Twitter’s spam filters, but the prize turkey has to be Glenn Beck for his assertion that it was Islamic terrorists who started the fire but we aren’t ever going to hear about it, which is the perfect example of Morton’s Fork but certainly not a good example of a reasoned, coherent argument supported by facts or evidence
With the Easter weekend approaching both The Sun and Daily Mail needed something, anything, in order to tide their readers over for a potential long weekend without their constant dogwhistling - which has to be the only logical explanation for running the story that Diane Abbott was seen drinking a tinned mojito on the train, which only led to it being unearthed that Mike Neville had, prior to photographing people sitting on trains having a tipple, was kicked out of the police for sharing far-right material
The only conclusion you could reach after watching the BBC coverage of the Spanish election was that the far-right Vox party had won, given how the headlines and so much of the piece was devoted to them and their supporters - when in actuality Vox finished fifth, while the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party (PSOE) not only won the election but also won the popular vote with 3m more votes than the second-place People’s Party (and almost three times more votes than the fifth-placed Vox) while also picking up a majority in the Senate with 139 of 265 seats
To the surprise of absolutely nobody WWE responded to John Oliver tearing down their widely-known use of “independent contractor” status for wrestlers under contract with the company and the complete lack of health insurance they receive by...not addressing anything he said on those subjects and instead talking about their Wellness Program, which implies that WWE really aren’t too familiar with how the Streisand Effect works
Keeping within the WWE bubble we have “Superstar” Billy Graham making a really helpful suggestion to Kofi Kingston ahead of WrestleMania 35 that, if he wants to look credible, he needs to use steroids - and in the wake of widespread condemnation for making such an idiotic suggestion, Graham did what any sensible person would do - double down on his idiocy by saying that, just because he said Kingston should use steroids, he didn’t mean he should abuse them
Although it does appear that McGregor’s general shitehousery did inspire at least one fighter to follow in his footsteps, which is probably the most logical explanation for Zachary Madsen thinking the best idea to advance his career in the whole wide world would be to assault Bret Hart during the WWE hall of Fame ceremony
It seems that Sky News’ newsreaders really aren’t a happy bunch lately judging by their recent interviews with people outside their increasingly insular bubble, first with Jayne Secker laying in to somebody critical of Article 21 by being patronising and condescending and attempted to turn the interview into an attack on all letters that definitely didn’t make it worth mentioning that Secker is a multiple property landlord herself, soon followed by Adam Boulton harrumphing his way through a trainwreck of an interview with a member of Extinction Rebellion where he huffed and puffed about “incompetent, middle class, self-indulgent people” without a hint of irony as well as trotting out the old chestnut of the left sounding like right-wing fascists...and seemed surprised when the interviewee walked out on him - which led to Sky producer Thomas Newton acting like a smug tosser on Twitter about it while echoing Boulton’s non-arguments
Not wanting to be left behind, the BBC unleashed Nick Robinson to kvetch to another member of Extinction Rebellion how his morning commute is far more important than the climate or the planet’s long-term future
Glorified Twitter trolls Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman hit on a novel idea to politically engage people: by offering people money to falsely accuse Democrat nominee Pete Buttigieg of sexually assaulting them
Already the butt of a constant stream of jibes over Anthem things got worse for Bioware when a Kotaku article revealed the hellish working conditions at the studio during the game’s development cycle that led to numerous members of the team needing to take weeks or months off due to stress-related issues, some of them leaving altogether, yet the company not only had a blase attitude to these issues at the time but responded to the article with a boilerplate statement that focused entirely on one inconsequential point of the article and ignored the more serious allegations altogether
It appears that Nancy Pelosi thought she had too much credibility judging by her decision to hold a meeting discussing the rise of antisemitism with the credibility devoid trio of Ian Austin, Mike Gapes and Chris Leslie - because apparently Rachel Riley, David Baddiel and Matt Lucas were unavailable
So Wayne Hennessey hit upon a brilliant defence for being caught performing a Nazi salute: claim he had no idea what a Nazi salute even was - which somehow The FA accepted, in spite the claim being even less credible than his previous attempt at denying it where he was merely waving at somebody while covering his mouth so they could hear them which just so happened to look like Basil Fawlty entertaining the German guests at his hotel, and the fact that Hennessey has previous for doing the same gesture
Does it need to be explained that Julian Assange is not and never has been a journalist?  I have to ask, since Julian Assange’s fanboys have been howling that their narcissistic god being dragged out of the Ecuadorian embassy is a freedom of the press violation.  And that’s the most credible argument they’re trotting out, because they soon devolve into conspiracy theorist drivel after that...
According to Liz Truss the customs union bill lost by more votes than Theresa May’s Britiait proposal...somehow ignoring that the customs union bill lost by just eight votes, while May’s lost by 58 - and I’m sure this will be brought up for the next two years just like Diane Abbott flubbing her figures back in 2017 was...
Having spent the whole of March loudly telling everyone they didn’t understand the offside rule, after losing to Everton Arsenal fans decided now was the time to loudly proclaim they don’t understand what a foul throw is either
And last but by no means least, still finding it difficult to accept that when a report states numerous times you attempted to obstruct the course of justice that does not mean you are cleared on all charges is the inventor of flying water tankers Donald Trump who devoted a lot of time and energy into his oh-so-charming decision of using footage of 9/11 so he could harass Ilhan Omar on Twitter

Trump slaughters Clean Power Plan, orders organizations to overlook environmental change Farewell contamination controls, hi imagining atmosphere science doesn't exist.
After weeks of gossipy tidbits and deferrals, President Trump marked an official request on atmosphere approaches Tuesday at the home office of the Environmental Protection Agency—an organization the Trump organization attempted to hit with a $247 million cut for the current financial year, as per Politico, and is looking for a 31 percent spending cut for one year from now. The request incorporates various activities to fix Obama-period choices tending to the nursery gas emanations that have officially warmed the world's atmosphere around 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) since the late 1800s.
As a feature of the declaration, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry stated, "America's initiative, the president's authority, on how we accomplish vitality freedom while enhancing our condition in this nation and abroad is resolved more by the activities that this president is taking than whenever."
Clean Power Plan finished
The fundamental focus of the exertion is the EPA's Clean Power Plan run the show. The EPA settled the run last August, however a court challenge by various Republican state lawyers general (counting new EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt) has kept it in legitimate limbo. The objective of the Clean Power Plan was to decrease CO2 emanations from power plants to 32 percent beneath 2005 levels by 2030. The manage set diminishment focuses for each state to meet yet left it to the states to choose how they needed to meet it. It would have been especially troublesome for coal-consuming plants to meet the new measures, and less consuming coal would bring about diminishments of different contaminations as well.In a meeting on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt prodded the request's declaration, saying it would "address the past organization's endeavors to kill employments over this nation through the Clean Power Plan." But the EPA's authentic assessment of the decide evaluated that it would anticipate around 3,600 unexpected losses every year by 2030, alongside 90,000 asthma assaults and 1,700 heart assaults every year. The EPA computed a net monetary advantage of $26 to $45 billion dollars by 2030 between the atmosphere and wellbeing changes.
The official request guides the EPA to pull back the Clean Power Plan and take it back to the point where it all began. That will require some serious energy, and the organization should attempt to logically legitimize another arrangement of controls in its place.
Some type of direction is as yet required in light of the fact that the US Supreme Court decided that the EPA was legitimately committed to control nursery gasses under the Clean Air Act, insofar as the office discovered that nursery gas emanations undermined "general wellbeing and welfare." In 2009, the Agency finished up they did—a key choice known as a "risk finding." therefore, the EPA is presently lawfully required to put out some kind of direction like the Clean Power Plan.
Politico revealed that the White House considered attempting to repudiate the danger finding as a component of this official request. Pruitt effectively contended against that thought on account of how troublesome it is do as such in a way that survived claims. Notwithstanding, lawful difficulties to the EPA's do-over on the Clean Power Plan are a conviction. Meanwhile, various more established coal-consuming force plants that would likely have been resigned may keep operating.Ignoring environmental change
The official request additionally incorporates changes intended to lift creation of non-renewable energy sources on government arrive. A ban on new coal leases established in January 2016, going with an audit of the eminence rates, will be lifted instantly.
The Department of the Interior is coordinated to rework confinements on fracking for oil and gas on government land to make the limitations more maker neighborly. Prior standards fixed prerequisites for the development of holding tanks and seals around wells, required exposure of the considerable number of chemicals utilized as a part of the fracking procedure, and restricted outflows from flammable gas spillage.
Maybe the most stunning some portion of the request is that government organizations will be advised to quit considering environmental change while inspecting foundation ventures.
Furthermore, the national government is coordinated to quit utilizing EPA-created "social cost of carbon" computations to decide the effects of nursery gas outflows when settling on approach choices.
Maybe the most stunning some portion of the request is that government offices will be advised to quit considering environmental change while looking into framework ventures. That incorporates disregarding things like ocean level ascent and expanding streak flooding, which could without much of a stretch devastate the framework or render it unessential.
Remarkably lost from the official request is any specify of the 2015 global Paris Agreement, in which countries promised to cut nursery gas outflows. While President Trump railed against the concurrence on the battle field, there has allegedly been level headed discussion inside the organization about the conciliatory dangers of formally pulling out.Specifically, Trump's girl Ivanka, child in-law Jared Kushner, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have restricted such a move. At the most recent Heartland Institute gathering advancing the dismissal of atmosphere science, the associate who ran the Trump organization's EPA move, Myron Ebell, communicated his mistake by calling previous ExxonMobil CEO Tillerson an "overwhelm animal" for neglecting to back a full withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.
In lieu of withdrawal, the Trump organization may basically overlook the United States' vow, as it was not lawfully authoritative. Considering the new official request and other late activities, it's as of now impossible that the US will experience its objective of diminishing emanations 26 to 28 percent underneath 2005 levels by 2025.
Bringing back coal?
The official request is being pitched as a push to resuscitate the declining coal-mining industry and increment "vitality autonomy." However, the industry's employments are undermined by a great deal something other than contamination controls. Low petroleum gas costs driven by the impressive increment in US creation (because of fracking) have made gas-consuming force plants a great deal more focused, and robotization has kept on diminishing the quantity of representatives required at the rest of the coal mines. Furthermore, coal plants shut by stricter contamination norms like the Clean Power Plan would have been supplanted not simply by flammable gas but rather by wind and sun oriented era—inexhaustible, residential sources that the Trump organization does not assume mean "vitality freedom."
Alluding to terminations of coal mines in comments before the marking of the official request, Vice President Mike Pence stated, "Those days are over in light of the fact that the war on coal is over." President Trump reverberated that conclusion in his own particular discourse, including, "Going to have clean coal. Truly spotless coal." How coal would be made clean wasn't indicated.
What's more, actually, there was some acknowledgment that any figurative war was the minimum of coal's stresses. In front of an audience for the marking was Robert Murray, the CEO of Murray Energy, a substantial coal mining organization. In a meeting with The Guardian yesterday, Murray himself said he revealed to President Trump that employment recuperation in the business is impossible. "I proposed that he temper his desires. Those are my correct words. He can't bring them back," Murray said.
