The winner is... the 🦈SirenSong!AU! In this au, the platonic yans are sirens, and so is their bby. Sirens in this au have some form of hypnotic power, mainly their voices, which leads to them being persecuted by the humans inland... but on the coasts and islands, sirens are the ones who rule. After all, they can use their abilities to hunt and sell fresh sea food, own special hotels and aquariums filled with colorful and versatile fish and sea creatures, sell their more... "special" skills, such as singing, siren scale trading, and some have magical/mystical abilites/mutations... not to mention the pearl, sea glass, and ancient artifact trade, run and controlled by sirens who are able to explore and collect from the deepest depths of the ocean...
No one is a hero or villain in the super person sense here. They can be labeled as heroic or villainous, but they aren't exactly fighting crime... they all have their own special way of earning a living, and stick to their guns. Some sirens are built differently than others, due to their ability/mutation, their siren tail/type, and where they live. Different types include the reef sirens (colorful, smaller, and fast), the open ocean sirens (bigger, sharper teeth and claws, muted colors), and deep sea sirens (largest there is, eat a lot, can live very long). There are a mix of different patterns and color combinations, but all sirens, when fully submerged in water, have a fishy/serpentine lower half. Depending on the age of the siren, they can hold a human form better, and if young, will have duller teeth and nails, thinner scales, and be smaller than the adult sirens. Sirens are considered a young adult once they've reached two hundred years old (every decade is how they count an age; example being: 2 decs= 20 years old, 4.5 decs= 45 years old, etc.. But, sirens age... kinda slow. The young grow rather slowly, but will look like teens by age thirteen, buuut they kinda stay like that until they reach 200 years old. Thus, why sirens only consider them an adult at that age: because they look/act older, and have enough experience by then to be considered a young adult).
Sirens are protective of their young, which can be called pups or guppies. Nicknames can be near anything, from shrimp and krill, to angelfish and seal, to eel and crab (Note: shrimp and krill are generally used for small/young/scrawny pups, angelfish and seal are generally used for cute/pretty/handsome pups/sirens, and eel and crab are generally used as unsavory words, the equivalent to calling someone a b*tch/b*stard or shrew/jerk). Sirens don't have a lot of pups, due to humans hunting them down and/or using them for their scales, voices, or for meat/as a trophy. This has led to many sirens killing or enslaving humans, as a way of enacting revenge or to hurt humans for their past sins... For this au, you can imagine the platonic yans as anyone from Marvel, but I mainly stick with Avengers and X-Men heroes and villains. In this, I mainly imagine the X-Men heroes and villains (but again, free feel to imagine who you want).
The reader, for this au, has never met another siren. They don't even know anything about siren customs or culture, because they have kept themselves hidden from others of their own species. The reader is young, somewhere between 1.5 decs (15 years) and 2 decs (20 years). They were raised by a human, who took then in when they were able to escape a siren pup trafficking group... But, the reader moves into a siren territory, due to having to hide after their parent dies, and not wanting anyone to discover what they are... Cue the reader ending up in a coastal town, busy and bustling and full of water... and full of platonic yans...
I have ideas for different scenarios, which I will try to do a few, such as if they meet the siren X-Men and/or Brotherhood, what each platonic yan from those looks like in siren form, and perhaps the yans discovering the reader is a siren pup... (And not not mention each group wanting to have the reader, once discovered to be one of them, join their pod/school, staying in the group nest with the other pups... and yes, do expect the adult platonic yans acting like overprotective parents/relatives, and the younger platonic yans acting like possessive siblings... and lots and lots of purring, chirping, clicks, and some soft hypnosis).
This was a honeycomb thought for the 🦈SirenSong!AU!

The Everyman Problem
So, I've had a kernel of a Bionicle post rattling around in my for a couple weeks that I haven't quite been able to articulate, but I think I might have the angle to explain it now.
I'm an "old Bionicle fan": by which I mean, I'm old enough to have got into Bionicle in the "Mata Nui" era (2001-2003). A glance at the notes on my big [unfinished, looking abandoned] alt-canon fanfic shows that I'm old enough to have disliked the change of the Toa from Mata to Nuva... in 2002.
So, which that as background, remember that I'm old enough to remember a time when it wasn't known at all that Matoran, Toa, and Turaga were all the same "species."
Thinking back on it, I don't think I initially "noticed" the revelation that no only were the Turaga were former Toa, but the Toa (Metru) were Matoran before that--Takanuva too, but he was something of a special case. In 2004, I was really just absorbing that Vakama, Onewa, etc. were former Toa--that "Toa" might mean something other than "single demi-urgic hero of each element." I got there eventually, as far as acceptance goes, but it part of my age-related fade out of the Bionicle fandom.
2006, on the other hand, emphasized the other part that I'd ignored more during the LoMN/WoS era: that Toa came from Matoran. I still don't love this, but until last night I couldn't really lay a finger on how to express why.
I thought it might just be my habitual stick-in-the-muditude: you changed Jaller from Captain of the Guard! You changed Matoro from Nuju's stoic interpreter to a worry-ridden saviour.
I also thought it might just be the genre shift: it's all fantasy, of course, but it's a different thing from the island mythology-vibe of Mata Nui to the Lost City of Atlantis vibe of Metru Nui (and then the vibes beyond). I like the Toa more as unique elemental avatars than evolved Matoran, but that's not really it either.
Last night, though, I watched later era Marvel movie--it doesn't matter which one, because they all have this problem--and as the credits were rolling, I realised that the reason I don't really like the MCU is much the same as this "problem" I had with Bionicle: if just about anyone can be a superhero, you lose the "ordinary" members of the story.
Putting it another way, I realised I prefer "chosen one" stories to "X-men" stories. This is probably the Tolkien fan to some extent: you can have a world full of magic and heroes and super-powers, but if it also has "ordinary" folk, their specific importance in the story is that they ARE ordinary: Gandalf and Aragorn are heroes and amazing, yes, but Frodo never "levels up"--he is a greater person at the end of the story than the beginning, but it is the growth of an ordinary person.
Because superheroes are so common in the MCU (or DCU, etc), it's hard to have ordinary people be front and center--and harder still for them to stay ordinary people. And something like that is my problem with where Bionicle went that I don't think ever fully resolved for me: part of the wonder of Mata Nui, the whole storytelling point of MNOG is that the Matoran contribute to the victory too: they have no mask powers, no elemental powers, but they are there to help the heroes and do their part and its essential.
This already starts changing with MoL, it changes more with LoMN, and by the time we get to the Voya Nui arc, we've gone "Full MCU": everyone in the story can be a Toa.
I think, if the Inika had been "four or five" new characters and only one "already-known" Matoran, I'd have been much happier. But when you take the most prominent Matoran from every tribe and make them all Toa... who's left? The headcanons that the Chronicler's company become Toa too both satisfy and don't work for me for this reason. They satisfy me if they leave the Inika as Matoran, because I think that was a better way to go; they annoy me if they're BOTH Toa now, because that exacerbates what I think is the "problem" here.
It's not really a problem, objectively, but it is my subjective sticking point. And it's the reason that even though I might keep most of this lore, despite the grumbling, I'm willing to jettison completely and utterly the idea that "only some Matoran are destined to become Toa." Destiny is always a hard thing to make work in the story, but the Doylist result is that Matoran now come in two categories: Special Protagonist and Ordinary: and the Ordinary is now completely swept off the stage and I really don't want that: I want the story to include a real focus on some powerless, ordinary individuals.
So I'd rather it be that ANYONE can turn into a Toa: they don't, maybe, because the circumstances lead there, but every Matoran has that potential. Because if anyone COULD be a hero, then at least when they do become a hero, it's more ordinary.
But I'd still rather that none of them could--but I'm not sure that is a concept you could return to without retconning Gen-1 so far that you end up with Gen-2. And I don't think I want THAT either.

More Chase/Kaz headcanons
•Kaz is very much into alternative music, albeit more popular bands like Fall Out Boy and Rise Against. Spike is into it too but leaning more metalcore and screamo.
°It freaks Adam the fuck out when he goes down to the lab and finds Spike jamming out to some Ice Nine Kills while training.
°Although Adam and Kaz do find it funny because in "Communion of the Cursed" one of their lyrics is literally "Get on your knees and prove your worth."
°Speaking of Spike, Chase learns to control him a lot better when they're older so he doesn't come out as much anymore, but that leaves the times Spike does come out into full blown tantrums.
°Chase would never admit it out loud but that part of him does need attention too and really only comes out when Spike doesn't feel like he's getting enough.
°Kaz has learned that the only way to get through to Spike is to talk calmly to him and as he would to Chase. Which he just sees Spike as a part of his boyfriend, no different.
•Adam is big into country music but he's not elitist about it. In fact, he would love the "This ain't Texas" Beyoncé song.
•There isn't an Elite Force for long. Mighty Med eventually gets rebuilt and Kaz realizes he can't save the heroes if he's being one.
°It might stem from insecurity about not being sure he can 100 percent control his powers or that he's just more comfortable doing the background work.
°Either way, it's all a group decision to split the Elite Force, although Skylar with join Bree on missions sometimes.
°Kaz would be lying if he didn't admit he missed being a part of a team, but being part of Mighty Med soon became a team to him and even a family.
•Somehow, I'm not sure how, they are connected to the Henry Danger universe.
•Kaz "proposed" to Chase with a RingPop like all cringe babygays.
•Their actual wedding had A-list superheroes and company owners, much to Chase chagrin who wanted a small wedding.
•But Kaz made it up to him by flying him across the city and to the Bionic Island.
°Which, it was the thought that counts because Chase is terrified of heights.
•So I don't know if this is obvious, buy the Davenport kids aren't robots. They're humans just with bionic abilities. So I'm guessing in the way I'm seeing things their chips are sorta like a prosthetic if that make sense. I don't know. Feel free to correct me.
°If we're going by that sense of logic, then having bionic chips for super speed or what have you would become more common in the future, albeit for rich people.
°It definitely would make Chase insecure that there are more bionic people but also feel more welcomed into the world then standing on the outside. As for Adam and Bree too.
°But these newer bionics have upgraded systems and overall better functioning for them. They don't glitch as often, rarely with this new tech rolling out, and it embrasses all three of them when they glitch in public because of how old their chips are getting.
°Speaking of glitching, although Kaz isn't an engineer, anytime any one of the glitches he will take them back to the mansion to help Davenport and combine engineering with his medical knowledge. And as they get older it only gets worse.
°Once on a mission, all three of them simultaneously glitched and Kaz could hear it on his radio to them. He immediately called an ambulance to Mighty Med. Although Skylar yelled at him for not just flying over there.
•Kaz is CONVINCED Tony Stark once came in for his reactor messing up.
•When they're in their early 20's, Kaz shoots up taller than Chase to around Adam's height but he likes to joke he's secretly Elastic-Man and be any height he wants.
•Kaz refuses to take a side on the DC/Marvel debate although he will talk for HOURS about how the MCU is deteriorating.
•Skylar and Bree have some pretty sick cosplays of Vision and Wanda though while Kaz goes as Captain America and Chase goes as Bucky Barnes.
°Leo goes as Loki and tries to convince Adam to go as Thor but he goes as Groot instead. And of course, Donald goes a millionaire Playboy Tony Stark.
•Kaz is, of course, everyone's personal heater but he can not stand any of the eighty blankets Chase keeps around him to sleep.
°So they made a deal, only, like, two blankets but to keep them on Chase's side, that way Kaz can still be his personal heater.
•Kaz hates summer but he loves the pool... just not what it does to his powers. (Not to mention it takes an hour or two to come back.)
•Once, to piss Kaz off on his birthday, Chase individually wrapped each page of a comic book.
°But it was better than the time he used actual comic book pages as wrapping paper.
•Chase and Adam have autism while Kaz has ADHD.
•All three of the Davenkids can NOT sleep in darkness. Probably because they grew up sleeping in capsule, but neither can Kaz or Skylar. Kaz because obviously his powers are fire ability and it would scare him shitless if he woke up randomly in the middle of the night and couldn't summon a flame. And Skylar because it's just how she grew up on her planet.
°Chase figured out a way he wouldn't need to sleep in his capsule anymore but still sometimes does one for familiarity, two for when he's mad at Kaz.
•Also, all Davenkids have done animal therapy at least once (including Leo) and actually got it integrated into Mighty Med. That's how most of the superheroes ended up with their animal sidekicks.
•As he gets older Kaz accepts he's not going to be on the frontlines as a superhero but begins to get comfortable with that as he becomes more concerned with being a doctor.
•Kaz sometimes gets full on Will Solace from Percy Jackson mode. "Doctor's orders" and literally having to drag Chase away from his projects to go to sleep.
Let me know if you guys want more of these!

A Buncha Boneheads (Final)
Originally posted on My Patreon (Follow the link to see the full image)
Well, after drawing 88 different skeletal characters, here it is, the full series of "A Buncha Boneheads"! I was originally going to try and sell this as a poster but after looking into it, I don't think I can do that unless I want to deal with several dozen copyright laws.
This was quite the fun little exercise for me- the biggest challenge was trying to emulate the art styles of so many different series and properties. There are definitely more skull-headed characters out there that I could add, but frankly I think a nice even 88 is good enough, and there are other projects I want to work on for the future. Overall I'm pretty proud of this.
With that said, let me know if I've made a spelling mistake or something anywhere on here- I've tried my best but I just know I missed one or two somewhere.

Honestly my main issue with MHA is that there's like a cut off with how much i've seen/read/enjoyed and so since this is for fun i just work with what i like/seen (shrugs). to answer your question i know for a fact that the two films i'd like to work with in the future are heroes rising and two heroes. i haven't seen world mission.
what i did know was that my "two heroes" would have iron man as a major player and a souped up A.I.M. that had infiltrated I island. i also wanted to call the arc "TERROR OF A.I.M. ISLAND".
The crux of the story's theme being one of those "Peter's old life comes trying to coax back into it and away from UA in the form of Tony Stark and melissa shield acting as reminder of old memories with gwen. And tony thinking he's found a way to finally fix all of all-might's internal injuries while david wants to prolong all-mights hero career. and the two end up as rivals for someone who is a dear friend to them"
And i know i'll get flack for this A LOT but what the hell, half of the time i'm not so fond of MHA villains/groups out of well.....preference. but also if i can use a marvel antagonist/terrorist group i will. not all the time but i will. and i just found it funny that the small strike force that took over the island in the movie finding out that the much bigger resource heavy A.I.M. was there FIRST and become the bigger threat because they're a bunch of radical PH.D. having terrorists. Who smuggled THESE onto the island.
Tumblr media
And honestly after being lukewarm on iron man for the longest time i finally found like.....the appeal and what i'd like to bring visually to the table. Because i was reading armor wars 2 a while back and i just loved how..........super robot/anime meets 80 comics while jrjr art wasn't so.......current erm quality.
Tumblr media
and i keep thinking about for the last two weeks that genndy tartakovsky storyboarded the major fight in iron man 2 and how i'd love to bring that energy to the board. You know a more illustrated animated feel to a character i find kinda stiff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as usual i think: maybe you just wanna do iron man in general and mha is just the excuse y'know? good to just be honest with yourself.

First question, what year was Hank born? Second question how might the events going on in our world have affected the characterization of Hank? Beyond the 90s incarnation of the character might make a post about this later…
So, asking for a set birth year for a comic book character is a bad idea, because with very few exceptions, they don't exist. For example, Google tells us that Captain America was born on the 4th of July, 1920.
Or maybe he wasn't? Apparently that got retconned and it isn't 4th of July, but it was 1920? Already we run into problems. COMIC BOOKS.
Outside of very specific characters, they just don't have birth years or birth dates, they exist within the Marvel sliding timescale. If you're not familiar with the sliding timescale, the basic conceit is this:
Modern Marvel comics began in 1961 with Fantastic Four #1. This is essentially the start of the modern Marvel era, and every other superhero group is contextualised in relation to this, pretty much. The Avengers were formed maybe six months, a year later, the X-Men not long after that.
For every 3-5 years that passes outside of comics, 1 year passes inside of comics. E.g. Fantastic Four #1 took place either 13 or 21 years ago, or somewhere in between, it's not an exact science.
As for Hank specifically, well . . .
Tumblr media
October, 1983, was contemporary to Hank saying this.
Tumblr media
That plot took place in a comic book from 1974, nearly ten years before this, and yet Hank says it's just "a few years ago." So time is passing, but slowly. Hank here is explicitly in his early 20s, maybe 22-23, but the Hank we saw in this week's X-Force #50 was not 40 years older than him. So, how to make it all make sense?
A lot of headcanon and kind of inferring based on contextual hints. Hank is depicted as being roughly 17-18 when he joins the original X-Men, given that he's stated in dialogue to be the oldest of the team, and seems to have been on the verge of graduating high school when his normal human life was interrupted. So, now you just work backwards.
If Hank was 17-18 when the original X-Men were formed, and it's been 21 years since then (referring back to the sliding timescale), then it stands to reason X-Force Beast is 37-38. If he's 38 in our current year of 2024, then logically, he would have been born in . . .
1986!
Which is what I've been running with for as long as I've been writing him. It isn't quite compatible with stuff like this, which is very obviously written in the 60s and set in the 60s, and which explicitly positions Hank as an Atomic Age hero, with radiation based origins and a super scientist pedigree . . .
Tumblr media
But eh. We move.
As to the second part of your question
Tumblr media
. . . Ooohhhhh boy.
Um.
There's a lot? And I hate to bring it all back to 9/11 and the War on Terror, but it's kind of all about 9/11 and the War on Terror?
Media about terrorism, security, threats to mankind, all looked very different pre-September 11th, 2001. Go back and watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and see how Kira Nerys, a character who is explicitly called a terrorist in dialogue, is treated for her actions. She's positioned more as a World War II resistance fighter than anything else. If that show were made now, she would be an intensely different character, because the American cultural and media consciousness has never recovered from that day.
If you want to read more about this, there's quite a lot of academic discourse on how this has all changed. Here's a decent start.
But specifically Hank? Well, the X-Men have had their own 9/11. Multiple times. The Genoshan genocide, as depicted in New X-Men #116, actually just a few months before 9/11. It's entirely possible that this entire storyline might not have been made if it had been written after.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Xavier Institute bus bombing.
Tumblr media
The Decimation.
Tumblr media
The X-Men became a beleaguered minority, besieged on all sides, reduced to the island of Utopia, just 198 mutants and falling. Cyclops explicitly became far more ruthless, willing to ally with former adversaries and use kill tactics to get the job done, and you could see his portrayal, the infamous #Cyclops Was Right movement, gaining a lot of steam during this era. People really like this Cyclops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And where's Hank in this? Well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's the moral counterpoint.
People don't like to acknowledge this, and I feel like there might be a degree of cultural difference going on here, but Hank is correct. I feel like it's not even controversial to say that kill teams are bad. Right?
But people hate Hank for this. They think he's a whiny little bitch who won't and can't help, who runs out on his people, who prioritises his morals over being there for the X-Men. People legitimately think this of him.
Hank is the left wing, conscientious objector and anti-war viewpoint. So, naturally, there's a tendency to look upon him as a whiny little bitch. Just look at how shows like 24 contextualise that kind of moral viewpoint.
I do feel like the writers of this era wanted people to at least question who was right, between Hank and Scott, but the readers pretty much unanimously fell on Scott's side, because even as Scott started to use morally corrupt tactics . . .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He wasn't doing it for America, bullying small countries out of their oil in the name of democracy. He was doing it for a marginalised minority metaphor, fighting comic book supervillains, which is simpler, easier to root for. He had to use those tactics, you understand. He was fighting monsters! He was fighting the good fight.
Is 00s era X-Men War on Terror propaganda? I don't know. I'm not a political scholar, though I do have a B.A. in History. Interesting how the fandom seems to view this ideological conflict, though.
Anyway, time moves on, and then something starts to creep into Hank's character. Something that inevitably happens to characters like him.
Anti-intellectualism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No longer is Hank the moral counterpoint, now he's the intellectual who will lead us all to ruin because he's smarter than he is wise, because he's an idiot with no impulse control.
This characterisation is wholly incorrect and runs contrary to the fact that Hank learned his lesson about unethical experimentation practises in the 70s, in an incident that only harmed him, but whatever. It doesn't matter at this point, does it?
Only people with real world experience, who are level headed, who aren't eggheads, can solve the real problems of the day. People like, uh.
Hmm.
Who does have the solution to the problems of the day?
Tumblr media
Ah, I see.
We just forgive him for all the heinous shit he did on Utopia, huh?
All that stuff he did, the releasing bioweapons, the kill teams, that was fine, because he did it to the right people.
Well, that's all right, then.
Mmm-hmm. So much better than the egghead. Look at him in the corner, fumbling around, making more problems than he solves. What a motherfucker.
So, yes, let's talk about American anti-intellectualism.
I don't necessarily think Bendis is anti-intellectual. But I do think he spends a lot of time across multiple comics criticising Beast and valorising Cyclops, considering the worst thing Beast had done up until that point, vandalising the space-time continuum to get the O5 back into the present, was done explicitly so Bendis could play with X-Men with only 8 issues of continuity to keep straight.
But anything Cyclops did? All that X-Force stuff? Ehh. Don't worry about it. The only crime we care about is the death of Charles Xavier, for which Scott was possessed, so we can't make a moral judgement.
It's a whole ass topic, and a lot to get into, but I genuinely do think that Hank is one of those characters who especially suffers when written by a writer who doesn't trust vaunted intellectuals, because he's certainly not going to fucking flourish, is he?
And then it all comes full circle.
Ben Percy, enter the ring.
Tumblr media
Wolverine, the unequivocal hero of X-Force. Beast, the unequivocal villain of the series. The heart vs. the head. The man of action vs. the intellectual. The rugged thug vs. the fancy pants necessary bastard.
It's the same thing, just more extreme, really. I think X-Force is meant to be a critique of the CIA? If so, it's an extremely bad one, considering it ends on this note.
Tumblr media
Ah yes. Our heroes. The CIA.
I'm gonna quote the frankly incredible @brw here because they put it way better than I could on this point:
"This is genuinely a larger problem I have with Krakoa, is that rather than explore the culpability and complicity of all the characters involved in not just the creation, but the active maintenance and survival of what is, categorically, an eugenicist, oligarchy ethnostate, we instead act as if Krakoa would have been fine if not for Evil Hank/Evil Moira/Evil Sinister for ruining it all for the rest of us.
Because are Sage or Logan ever properly thought to be bad people for standing by as long as they did? It isn't even that X-Force are the people who do the dirty stuff–it's Hank that does that, and the rest of the character get to keep their hands relatively clean, at least narratively. They're sympathetic, or understandable.
Hank is positioned as this demon in the shadows ready to snatch you up and kill you which is a weird decision to make with what you describe as the CIA.
The CIA isn't evil because evil people are in charge of it, the CIA is evil because it is a fundamentally evil institution based off evil systems! Benjamin, you can't write mutant CIA if your closing statement is how awesome the mutant CIA is, and it's a shame about that one evil blue guy that ruined everything for everyone."
Good thing we got rid of that Beast guy! What a fucker, right? Nasty, gross, intellectual pustule he was, with his oily words and grossness. Look at him, reading books. Sage is fine, though, because she doesn't read books. I mean, she's quantifiably grossly incompetent in this series, but we like her better than Beast, so it's fine.
Beast, from the 2000s era onward, is a very political character. It's just a shame that a lot of comic book writers tend to be grossly ill-informed when it comes to actual politics, capable of only surface level hot takes like CIA bad or kill teams good, actually, because now we've gone from 'Beast is the left wing conscientious objector' to 'Beast is the literal anti-Christ,' and I don't really like what that implies about what we think of the former.
But eh. I'm just a writer.

So let’s talk about the actual story!
In order so Red Son or Red Boy if we want to be totally accurate, frees his dad with the gauntlet same as the show, right? Something tells me he was kind of hoping for more father and son bonding, but DBK wanted to go back to destroying the truce sun Wukong made. Actually what does your version of a hero is born storyline looks like?
Also, do the small bull robots Red Son made still exist I don’t think Gunyau (super sorry if I misspelled her name) would like the clicks and cluttering of robot annoying her students.
OKAY SO, pilot special plot ahbjahbwdaw
read more cus lomg!!
plot is, Red Son spent most of his time studying and cultivating under Guanyin, eventually earning a "parole" job in the Flaming Mountains (not located around FFM but somewhat closeish) as a steward of the area. less a cop and more of a park ranger, watching out for proverbial fires and putting them out and avoiding them from starting to begin with. once he gets settled, him and PIF reunite though it's a tense tentative thing. she doesn't trust him as he's a celestial agent now, but he offers to help release his father and if anyone can match Wukong's power it would be him.
he builds the Bull clones to serve as PIF's servants, and DBKs armor and the gauntlet that will nullify the ward Wukkong left over the staff. by JTTW rules, its just a rly heavy ancient staff, not Marvel's Mjolnir; it obeys Sun Wukong's wishes as his fated signature weapon but that's it, none of that "only the worthy" shtick.
it takes a while of course, and PIF keeps a close eye on his blueprints, leaning on Immortal Compliant and Jade Faced Fox to figure them out for later. Red Son isn't a fool, he knows they are up to smth, but he's willing to let it go because his duty to his parents is still very high, he's very Confucian in that aspect.
so, time to release DBK and it goes fairly smoothly until Red Son won't give his parents the staff and then MK drops from the pipes. Red Son intervenes from his parents trying to kill him, he has a duty after all, which leads to some infighting as his loyalty comes into question, and a Bull clone tries for a swipe at MK and shit hits all the fans.
Red Son convinces his parents to let him finish his duties by fitting the armor for his father and then offering his own cultivated power to fuel it. DBK refuses, sending him away before they start fighting again, and Red Son bids them farewell. He has a mind to track down that noodle boy before he gets into trouble, but Wukong intercepts him and tells him he's got this one. He's none too happy about being kept under wraps about this whole thing, but fine, let his Uncle play his games. After that, he's absent from the rest of the special.
unawares, PIF with help managed to modify DBKs armor. it was meant to simply serve as a healing shield so he could recover faster, but with the modifications, it's back to being a powerhouse furnace, and the special goes about the same from there.
only extra differences is that PIF intercepts the Monkie gang halfway through FFM, the monkey yaoguai sends the "survivors" back to the tourist areas since they don't have clearance to be further in, and if they find the kid that got punted halfway across the island by PIF's fan they'll let them know. MK is found by several young monkeys, and eventually lead up to the Water Curtain Cave since he was "expected there". Cue Wukong intro, etc etc. And MK doesn't get furnaced either, he just summons the staff back out with the Power Of Believe(tm).

Hiii! Do you have any movie recommendations? You seem like you've good rlly good taste sooo
*cracks my knuckles* my time has come
For some context, I love love action and horror films. Some artsy fartsy stuff too but I can't think of one rn except for 'im thinking of ending things'
I've got John Wick, I recommend the first up to the 2nd one. The rest are good but the first two are the best ones. Monkey man is *chef's kiss* a bit long but it's very good. Bullet train and atomic blond are really good too. Skull island a movie you'd never thought you'd watch bc of kong but it's really amazing.
Midsommar, Abigail (the new one), (the?) atonement (if you wanna be mad), US and every single movie of jordan peele (I specifically love the last one he made), Barbarian is fantastic. There's a few a24 movies too but I can't for the life of me remember the titles. Lisa Frankenstein is very weird but the good kind.
I'm mostly watching series rn so if you want some recommendations too I've got, Interview with the vampire, House of the dragon (which is infinitely better than got), What we do in the shadows and community for comedy. Yellowjackets if you like cults and spooky mysteries, House md if you like malpractice I mean medical shows (it has the best writing I've ever seen in a tv show), the marvelous Mrs maisel, the boys if you like gory unhinged super heroes.
There's definitely some that i have missed, but these are the ones I could only think of rn so sorry it's literally 3 am here lol

SDCC NEWS
Ok, so I don't mention a lot of things about comics, especially American comics but there are two upcoming crossovers revealed at San Diego ComiCon I think are worth mentioning. The first is Justice League Vs. Godzilla Vs. Kong where the DC Universe's premier super team had to battle the King of the Monsters and Protector of Skull Island.
Tumblr media
The second has fewer details but features a meeting between three heroes each from Tsuburaya Productions and Marvel Comics: Ultraman, Ultraseven and Ultraman Taro meeting Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Iron Man. Not much is known about this one but this promo image features classic Ultra Kaiju Bemular!
