Looking for Homestuck fanfiction? Feeling adventurous? My server has some works for you!
This month, my server has a competition, in which members wrote an “extremely rare crossover”, determined by filtering by both Homestuck & their chosen fandom on AO3 for 0 results (not including giant works with unrelated fics). We have 6 works, sampling a variety of fandoms. Readers are invited to check them all out, and then vote for their favorite. We’d really appreciate it!
The works:
1. Or so the saying goes: homestuck x trigun. “You’ve never seen a psionic with two red eyes before. They match his coat.”
2. The Sun Has Burst The Sky: homestuck x shadow and bone trilogy. “Soldier. Summoner. Saint. Orphaned and expendable, Solliksa Starkov is a soldier who knows she may not survive her first trek across the Shadow Fold- a swath of unnatural darkness crawling with monsters. But when her regiment is attacked, Solliksa unleashes dormant magic not even she knew she possessed.”
3. Alternians v. Predator(s): homestuck x aliens vs predators. “The Beta trolls wake up in free fall on an alien planet, with no memory of how they got there. They search for a way off the planet, but the biggest obstacle they face is each other's bullshit.”
4. An Heir Among Pharmacists: homestuck x arknights. “After the Game, no one winds up where they expect. John Egbert winds up, where else, with the 'protagonists'.”
5. The Land Before Sburb: homestuck x the land before time. “An observer from afar decides that the best way to save the dinosaurs from extinction is to move them into the Medium. What could go wrong?”
6. The Naivete of the Curious: homestuck x The Enigma of Amigara Fault. “Rose Lalonde thinks she has found her place in the world.”

Cue everyone looking at him in utter confusion except for Dirk who's just like "Well yeah obviously."
(Or Jake actually? Idk if it's funnier if the only one who agrees with him is Dirk or Jake.)
the problem (or "problem") is that jake wants to be the wife and the husband on alternating sundays. and sometimes he wants to be neither! and that is why i love him.

I almost laughed out loud at "Beige Alert". I'm not actually familiar with strikers story but if your instincts are right on this then between Ikutsuki Akechi and her Atlas has a type for surprise bad guys lmao.

The discussion around LB6 I've seen around LB6 so far has been a lot about Oberon and Castoria and Morgan as well as some of the others, But I've seen surprisingly little about Beryl, is he just not a big deal or does he actually tie into the lostbelt's themes and plot a lot and people just aren't talking about him?
beryl is fundamentally an unlikable person and the whole point of his character is that he's incomprehensible so people just aren't talking about him. personally i also feel you have to extrapolate just a little too much about him from the rest of the chapter when he really would've benefited from a few more paragraphs than usual to explain what his fucking deal is, because again he's kind of purposely written to be incomprehensible. he Does tie into the chapter themes and you can expect to see the usual brand of longpost from me once the translation is finished and i have everything in context but ultimately his main purpose in the story is to be a roadblock for mashu's character development so it's pretty easy to leave him out of discussions of the chapter's themes because you can understand those themes without having to understand beryl. i get him though i understand everything.

19: what is your best advice for writing action scenes
Think of it like it’s explaining a dance. like how the time warp is explained.
Mostly, I would advise reading manga. Action scenes usually mean fight scenes, and some of the best fight scenes can be found in manga. Personally, I recommend Naruto for how clear everything is laid out panel to panel. Imagining fight scenes like this can really help, since they’re a nice slow way to ‘see’ in your mind what’s happening and describe everything so there’s no confusing bits.
And short paragraphs can be your friend. Each paragraph is for explaining what’s happening, and the moment your mind thinks “and then” is when you jump to a new paragraph. An example would be:
Shiro lunges, arm glowing. Sendak blocks the blow with his own prosthetic, grinning. They clash, trading blows under the moonlight. They’re equal in strength, neither able to gain the upper hand.
(then) Sendak retaliates, lashing out. Shiro’s slammed backward, into the castle.
Here, it’s explains what’s happening, and you can clearly see what’s going on. Longer paragraphs can feel like walls of text to climb over, that shorter paragraphs let the action flow.
For more detail, look back to explaining a dance. Throw a kick, catch it, lose balance. Each action gets a sentence, and all together, it becomes a fight.
Physical details can ramp up the tension, like if Shiro’s breathing hard, if he’s grunting or puffing out breaths, if he’s gritting his teeth or grinning, if his hand is curled up in a fist so tightly his knuckles are turning white, whether his heart is pounding. Details added in that can add to the tension.
20: what is your best advice for writing smut scenes
Oh, this is a tough one. The best advice I can give is... the five senses. Sensory details can enrich a smut scene so so much.
What are they feeling? Yes, they’re getting close, but how does that feel? Is it a rising tension building up inside, or building pleasure that’s getting to be too much?
What does it look like? What does their partner look like? Is their breath getting heavy, growing into short, gasping breaths?
Are they moaning? Are they screaming their pleasure, or being quiet about it, or biting it back?
Sensory details can take a smut scene from good to great.

Alright, you asshole, I’ve got the perfect one cause I was thinking about it earlier.
⚙️ - A ‘pick your poison’ that wasn’t on the angsty asks. We will be saying it is ‘Does your character have any scars? If so, what do they think of them?’ And I will be answering for all seven.
Ada has a scar on her upper right thigh. It’s roughly four inches deep. It’s a self inflicted wound that came from stabbing a man in the hand when he was getting too touchy for her tastes. She didn’t heed the pressure and sank the knife as deep as it would go through his hand and into her leg. She also has one on her back from falling into a ravine as a teen. She’s proud of them because they show that she won’t quit when she’s down and that she will not let herself be made a victim.
Esphira has several all over her body from her training as a knight and fights thereafter. She also has one that wraps around around the bicep of her right arm, as it is her homeland’s symbol for treason. She sees most of them in a neutral light as something that furthered her journey in life, but the treason spiral makes her remember the betrayal she has felt.
Mikael is scar free.
Hadrian has two scars indicative of transitional top surgery. He doesn’t really think of them, and often forgets they exist. If you were to ask, he would say he likes them.
Rhyn is also scar free.
Fen has a scar on the back of their head from falling of and hitting the edge of a table while performing in a bar. They see it as a reminder of an embarrassing performance.
Dauna has a scar down the center of her chest that follows the pattern of an autopsy. She thought it was a strange pattern before discovering the nature of its presence, but didn’t know what it actually was until then.
