The Aesthetics of Miraculous' Main Cast
I have a very interpretative and biased view of Miraculous, as is the fault of any deeply-devoted fan. While I do intend to pay homage and respect to the original in every aspect of my fan-content, it's inevitable that swords may be crossed, and certain misalignment noticed. Nevertheless, here is my analysis of the main cast's personal styles.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng // Coquette
If there's one word I can use to describe Marinette, it's cutesy. A large admirer of pink and floral patterns, Marinette spent majority of the show dressed in her classic outfit of pink jeans and blossom-printed shirt. If Miraculous expanded its wardrobe and I get to have an opinion on it, I visualise Marinette wearing sock-warmers, a variety of fabric ballet flats or blocky Mary Jane shoes, and a lot of cardigans and babydoll blouses.
Coquette is a broad term for any hyper-feminine aesthetics appreciated by young girls, a culture that is typically considered in line with conventional attractiveness and traditional femininity. While Marinette certainly embody some of these traits, like all aspects of identity labels, it cannot encompass the entirety of a person, and we are all familiar with Marinette's far more dangerous, daring, and confident side as Ladybug: Queencore.
2. Adrien Agreste // Old Money
As Adrien is my favourite character, I have taken several liberties with his characterisation which I know other Adrien fans may not be partial to. There's a general agreement that Adrien finds his current lifestyle suffocating and restrictive, and he would like nothing more than to be free from it, a fact that is very much confirmed by canon. But I always imagine Adrien as a person who is quite comfortable with the subjects of luxury and wealth, and only disturbed by the bars of his cage rather than the gilt of it. In my headcanon, the Agreste family is not old money by any means, Gabriel Agreste is a self-made millionaire whose own fashion house transported him to the height of sartorial fame, he doesn't have a legacy yet because he is too young to have one, he's at the beginning of the Agreste dynasty. But the other half of Adrien's heritage, the Graham de Vanily, are descendants of both French and English nobility (a French clan that escaped France during the Revolution and merged with a English court), and thus, Adrien could be considered blue-blood.
Defined by aristocracy, jewels, classic art, and antique architecture, my version of Adrien is elegant, aloof, and a little cold, but he never means any harm.
3. Lila Rossi // Luxurious Baddie
Lila is my second favourite character of Miraculous. Primarily, I'm interested in her and Adrien, no shade, but every other character rank far below. I'm fascinated by her sociopathic and manipulative tendencies. I do not admire evil, but I can appreciate someone confident, who doesn't dither or dawdle, but reaches out and snatch what they want from the world, when they want it. In my own imaginings, Lila is an anti-hero, inherently good, aware that she's a little askew in the head, mischievous, and enjoys certain pains of certain people, but she will never cross the line to truly unnecessary or unreasonable cruelty.
Obsessed with fame and wealth, Lila is a person that heavily prides herself on her appearance: hair, macquillage, and outfits. The opening scene of Oni-Chan alludes to Lila applying her cosmetics, which I strongly appreciate. She's an expensive person, and she will make sure everyone knows it.
Anyone who has spent any time on Instagram in the past few years knows what a baddie is. But Lila isn't just any average baddie – no, no – she's the label whore, Euphoria-grade of baddie. Dress codes? Lila hasn't heard of those. She's showing up in a plunging-cleavage jumpsuit whether you like it or not.
4. Chloé Bourgeois // Boujee
Although Chloé is born and bred in Paris (as far as we know), I have always seen her as a New York girl, busy and bustling in the City of Dreams. Chloé herself displays a strong urge to abandon her homeland and depart to the States, possibly because she wishes to be closer to her mother, and canonically proven as what Chloé would do should she find herself losing the 'respect' of her peers. If there's one thing New York is known for, fashion-wise, it's their wide diversity of styles and relaxed chic. Often favouring comfy athlesiure and oversized jackets over tight silk or the compact kitten pumps of Paris and Milan.
I've always seen Chloé as a rather lazy person, always looking for shortcuts to life, to dump the work on someone else. This translates into her fashion style, as while Chloé does wish to appear glamorous and perfect 24/7, she's too tired to follow her 10-step Korean skincare routine every night, and would prefer a good pair of statement sneakers over stiletto pumps anytime. I've wrote Chloé in this manner multiple times in my stories before, and multiple times, readers have disagreed with me, mentioning that they always see Chloé as the type to don smart Chanel suits and slim Audrey Hepburn pedal-pushers daily. But although I understand that point of view, Chloé certainly look wonderful in fanart that depicts her in that manner, my mind is unswayed. I do strongly believed an indolent style is how Chloé would dress, unless she wants to seem otherworldly for special occasions.
A 'boujee' lifestyle, slang for bourgeoisie, is characterised by a penchant towards materialism. Like the provided image above, Chloé would slung on Nike sweatpants and Aje racerbacks, but always make sure she's donning Prada sunglasses and carrying the latest Fendi fur bag, with the logo as obnoxious as possible so everyone would know who she's wearing.

Lila Rossi's Character & Personality
Lila is an Italian girl who likes modeling and painting. She's proud and loves attention, which she's willing to obtain by lying. Lila will even go beyond words to support her lies, like buying items to support her claims or cause situations which can discredit whoever threatens her lies. She becomes jealous if someone gets more attention or love than her. Lila also doesn't like it when someone reveals her lies, showing no remorse for lying in the first place. If anyone attempts to expose her, she won't hesitate to try and make them miserable or break them down to get them out of her way. Lila doesn't take advice from those who try to make peace with her or encourage her to be honest. At first, it seems she acts like this because her first mother is often away with her busy job. Thus, making Lila feel disheartened into using lies to cover up the loneliness to those around her. However, she has stated, "I tell people what they want to hear", and "I always get what I want. It's not my fault". Indicating Lila addictively enjoys lying out of selfishness. In fact, she has three different mothers and her true name is Cerise. Proving she has multiple lives as a master of disguise. Cerise doesn't easily forgive people who she feels wronged her. As such, she has great desire for vengeance. In addition, Cerise isn't afraid to turn her enemies' friends against them by manipulating and lying, portraying her enemy as the villain. Due to this, she doesn't have a care for the consequences her lies may have on others. With her talent to create the most convincing lies, Cerise is extremely intelligent and observant. She's able to notice the most subtle details, especially when she's motivated through her hatred and grudges.

Miraculous x High Fashion Pt. 2
Lila x Milan x Dolce & Gabbana x Versace
I spent some time trying to choose for Lila, between Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, before realising: why choose? Lila certainly wouldn't, she'll want the best off both worlds.
Just from viewing Adrien and Lila's boards side-by-side, even the most fashion-oblivious could immediately tell the general difference between French and Italian couture. Paris goes for the black and white aesthetic, simple patterns, and elegant make, while the Milanos favour bold prints, shiny material, chunky jewellery, and daringly short skirts and midriff-bearing tops. Perfect for Lila, arguably one of Miraculous' most fashionable and dangerous characters.
There are major differences between Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, as Dolce & Gabbana follows a more traditional motif, taking Renaissance and Hellenic inspiration while Versace goes for the trendy and sparkly. However, both brands are known for their astronomical use of colour and awe-factor, florid embellishments, and flirty cuts.

Chapter 33 - AO3
Ten minutes.
Ten minutes of keeping Rossi pinned to the ground while she hissed and spat at him, struggling against the superior strength of the Peacock Miraculous. Ten minutes of kneeling on her torso, unable but not incapable of fighting while King Monkey and Chat Noir picked off the rest of their akumatized classmates. Ten minutes of waiting, Rossi’s connection to Hawkmoth flashing for a few moments before extinguishing.
It was the longest ten minutes of Argus’ life.
The doors of the gym slammed open. Argus couldn’t spare a glance, but multiple people ran into the room, one coming up right behind him. He braced himself. “Oh thank god.”
“Ma—” Argus turned his head to look, but instead of who he was expecting, it was Ladybug behind him. Several police officers had arrived with her. “Ladybug. Did everything go well?”
She nodded, smiling. “Both Hawkmoth and Mayura were arrested and no one was hurt. And now—” She walked around him, so Rossi could see here. “It’s your turn, Lila Rossi. Are you going to surrender the akuma?”
“Never!” She snapped, spit foaming in her mouth. Argus wrinkled his nose.
“Hard way it is, then.” She glanced at Argus. “Do you know where her akumatized object is?”
“No idea. Everything about her is so ugly, it could be anything.”
Rossi hissed at him, trying to bit his arm. He slammed her head back into the floor, cracks radiating out on the wood under her.
Ladybug appraised the akuma. “There really is room for taste. But when Rossi was akumatized previously, the object was…” Reaching down, Ladybug plucked a necklace off Rossi’s neck. He hadn’t noticed it before due to the ugly prom queen aesthetic, but a dainty, tasteful necklace had been there the whole time, hidden in the ruffles of the bust. Ladybug snapped the necklace in half, and a black butterfly flew out. “This.”
Quickly catching the akuma, a loveliness of ladybugs washed over the gym and into the world outside. Damage from the battle healed, cracks fading and shrinking. His classmates transformed back into their normal selves, dazed and confused. Rossi, too, transformed back to normal, with none of the confusion previous akuma victims had. Instead, she continued to glare up at Argus and Ladybug, hands balled into fists (thumbs tucked under her fingers like she’d never learned to punch before, and the sadistic part of Felix really wanted her to try).
Ladybug helped Felix to his feet. His knees cracked from kneeling for so long. “Your costume looks good on you,” Ladybug said suddenly. He blinked at her and she flushed. “It’s… You kept the hoodie look. It suits you.”
What?
What??
Before Felix could truly question whatever that was, Rossi crawled to her feet. Her face had smoothed into false gratitude, a simpering smile trying to placate her audience. “Oh, Ladybug! Thank you so much for saving me—”
Ladybug stepped aside for the two policemen, who hauled her to her feet. She complained about the rough, only to scream when handcuffs clicked around her wrists. “Lila Rossi, you are under arrest for terrorism against the citizens of Paris. Everything you say can and will—”
“That doesn’t make any sense!” Rossi sputtered, trying to pull her other wrist free before it was locked behind her back. “I was an akuma, I can’t be held responsible for helping Hawkmoth! If I need to be arrested, so do they!” Unable to gesture with her hand, she kicked in the direction of dreadlock girl, goth girl, and boy with a skull on his shirt. They looked horrified at the prospect.
He really, really needed to learn his classmates’ names.
The police officers didn’t look inclined to answer, but Argus was ecstatic to inform Rossi of what was going on. He was a hero, at least for the day; he couldn’t let someone walk away ignorant after all! “So, that wasn’t you in the video I took? The video where you can clearly see someone who looks exactly like you snatches an akuma out of the air and negotiates with Hawkmoth for better powers?” He looks back at Ladybug, who was giving him a look. “Oh dear, we ought to go out and search for this mysterious doppelganger then. But… the doppelganger theory doesn’t explain the mountain of other evidence for more crimes we found on you. Whoops.”
“You—” She lunged for Argus, but the officers hold her back. “You ruined my life!” She spat.
Chat Noir approached, crossing his arms, and glaring at the girl. “Ironic, coming from End Days herself.”
Argus snorted. “I know, right?”
Rossi was dragged away by the bobbies, screaming at the top of her lungs about diplomatic immunity and that she’d been framed. Argus rolled his eyes. Turning back to the heroes, he flinched, finding Chat Noir staring at him with an unidentifiable expression. After a few seconds, the hero spoke. “I don’t like you.”
“Chat—”
Argus cocked an eyebrow. “And why should I care?”
Chat Noir glared. “But, you did good in your first fight against an akuma. And hopefully, your last.”
“That was hardly my first fight against an akuma, remember?”
He stepped into Argus’ personal space, staring him down. Argus stopped breathing. “I won’t forget.” He stepped away. “But I guess you were lucky enough to find some people willing to tolerate you. That’s probably the reason why you’re not a loser anymore.”
“Chat Noir!” Ladybug stood in between the two, glaring at her partner. “There was no reason to say that to Argus! He’s the only reason we were able to defeat Hawkmoth!”
Chat Noir’s face darkened, and he looked away. “Yeah.” Like it was planned, Chat Noir’s Miraculous beeped, though the Ladybug and Peacock stayed silent. Ladybug must have recharged on her way over, and Argus never used his ability in battle—Duusu hadn’t even explained how, claiming that it was dangerous—so he was the only one who had to leave or risk his identity. Ladybug offered him a fist bump before he left, and Chat looked like he was about to cry. “Meet me in the usual place? Tonight, at ten?”
“Of course, Chaton. Take all the time you need.”
The black cat hero raced away to parts unknown after whatever that was (although, the dark part of Felix’s mind already had a suspicion he really didn’t like). That left Ladybug alone with the three temporary heroes, along with the three victims. She cleared her throat. “Thank you, everyone. With your help, we managed to finally arrest Hawkmoth—”
“So, who was it?” Chloe asked.
“You find that out tomorrow, with the rest of Paris. I believe a press conference is already in the works for the morning” Ladybug didn’t seem to care about the interruption, used to how Chloe acted. “I need to collect your Miraculous now, but Queen Bee, Argus, since you both have public identities…”
“You want ours back first before collecting the others,” Argus finished, snatching the Bee Miraculous out of Chloe’s hair. She yelped as she detransformed, and Argus tossed the hair comb to Ladybug. There was no sign of a kwami; did that happen when the Miraculous was removed without the transformation phrase? If so…
“Why you do that!?” Chloe screeched at him.
“Don’t act like you were going to return it willingly,” Argus spat back.
King Monkey agreed. “Yeah, you were probably planning to crash another train to impress mommy dearest.” He held out a fist to Argus, and the Peacock hero reluctantly tapped it.
Ripping the brooch off his chest, Argus turned back into Felix and he tossed it at Ladybug. She fumbled, bouncing the jewelry off her arms and chest before clutching it in a move so familiar it was burned into his retinas. “You don’t want to say goodbye to your kwami?” she asked.
Felix snorted. “If I never had to see that hyperactive monster ever again, it would be too soon. Keep the horrible thing.”
Ladybug nodded, gesturing for King Monkey to leave with her. She looked back at him over her shoulder. “I’ll see you soon.”
Felix nodded. And it would be soon.
As in, the next day of class, soon. They sat next to each other, after all.

Today’s prompt is “Shut up and Take your pants off.”
Fugitive!Marinette and Luka are back.
During an attack on paris, There were deaths the miraculous cure couldn’t fix. Paris then calls out Viperion and Ladybug to be vigilantes and after the escape of their impending arrest. Now they’re fugitives on the run, and still trying to fight crime
“Fighting Shadowmoth and evading the cops? This is not what I signed up for!”
“You got to sign up?”
Viperion and Ladybug run across rooftops as they try to beat the newest akumatized villain,The subject being Lila Rossi once again. Ever since finding out Marinette is Ladybug she’s become even more insufferable.
Viperion jumps at Sionnach, the newest iteration of Lila’s Fox themed costumes. This one no doubt aimed to piss off luka, Sionnach being the scottish word for fox. Her outfit was intended to resemble the goddess Sionna. She’s dressed in a whiter version of her previous fox costume with pink highlights and matching flowers. That for aesthetic purposes seem to be rotting away.
it’s working. He knocks the villain to the ground. They start to roll around and hit each other with angry punches. Ladybug launches her yoyo around Sionnach as Luka jumps back. They rip off her necklace and release the akuma. The second everything is fixed the Vigilantes run off into the night, making it back to their latest cheap hotel room.
“We should probably move again” Viperion sighs while detransforming
“Damnit” curses the smaller girl as she relaxes and stretches as her costume melts away. Luka mutters something nonsensical, or just in another language Marinette can’t understand as he quickly gathers their things. Two Backpacks, a Guitar, and a larger suitcase covered in pink flowers.
“I wish you didn’t have to carry this enormous thing around.”
“Not my fault I own a magical soccer ball full of chaotic gods.”
Luka starts laughing “Can’t we just.. Hide it somewhere? Ladybug has access to all the miraculous when we need them.”
Marinette giggles and responds with a pleasant “I wish” Before going deadly serious and staring at luka “Shut up and take your pants off”
“Mar I’d love to but I don’t think we have time.”
Her face goes bright red as she stares at his ripped jeans. “NO!! Not that, I mean not right now. There’s a bunch of- Something on your pants. It looks like.. Writing.”
Luka quickly strips down to his underwear as he hands Marinette his pants. She quickly moves them around to get the best look and starts reading out loud. “Dear Marinette and Luka, I know you said we couldn’t have any contact. But I saw you at the laundro-mat. We miss you dearly and I want to send you to my sister’s house in London . She can hide you for the time being. Love you both dearly, Sabine.
P.S. Sorry about your jeans luka. I noticed you had two other pairs.”
Luka stares blankly but quickly regains his thoughts, “One, That’s nice. Two, How the hell did she embroider all that in the half hour we weren’t in the room?”
Marinette giggles and gives Luka his pants. “I have no clue. But at least we can stay safe for a bit.”
