whats ur tim headcanons :)
oooh i have so many i can sort them into appearance, character arc, and sillies, a lot of these are lifted from fics i like fyi,,, ty so much for the ask, this is very rambly lol
i tend to think of Tim as Malay mostly because of Head in the Lion's Mouth and renwhit's other works with the stoker bros which rewrote my brain although in my mind he has short hair instead of long like he has in those series. i also have fallen to the fanon of him wearing colorful button ups but i don't really like him in aloha shirts just cause i think he has better taste than that, i also think he has his ears pierced and i am not immune to the idea that he wears a shark tooth necklace he got from Danny. I do also think that he had his hair shorter and dyed purple on the ends in season 1 that he then stopped taking care of in season 2 so it was washed out green and all messy by season 3, by which time i also think his fashion had deteriorated and to me he was at the unknowing in the rattiest hoodie imaginable and jeans he had been wearing for at least 4 days. he can have a graphic tee as a treat but he was def greasy.
in terms of his character i have a lot of stuff that i think are headcanons that are actually just canon (like that he knew something was up with sasha before not-sasha was revealed or that he felt comfortable in research before getting drawn back into the horror) because i have a really shitty memory but heres some stuff im pretty sure isn't plain stated in the text: he and Jon bonded in research and were very close before Jon became the archivist, and part of how they bonded was that they were both overworking themselves looking for their answers and also they're really good at breaking into places together. i am also a sucker for the idea that jon and him were involved or dancing around something but had to break it off when jon got promoted. speaking of hcs with high angst potential, i also think a lot about subtle rituals of intimacy between him and sasha and the small ways in which he would have noticed that there was something off with her. i also see him as being estranged from his parents/ them suspecting him of having something to do with Danny's death, which is not helped by the box of photos n such i think he keeps hidden in his closet/under his bed. in terms of his mentality Tim is really relatable to me i think he really struggles to be trusted in meaningful ways and that Jon suspecting him of murdering Gertrude brought back a lot of bad memories of police and his parents thinking he killed Danny. he gets stuck into patterns of though and mindsets esp when hes depressed and has trouble thinking of things in different terms in s3. also he did nothing wrong but thats neither here nor there
sillies! hcs that have little support but i think are funny, shipping stuff, and like whatever.
It's not really supported by canon unless you think he was playing 4d chess with Basira in s2 but in my mind Daisy and Basira were the ones investigating Danny's disappearance and they have a bad history. i like to put this one in my aus/ give him and daisy and basira a weird antagonistic relationship whenever i can because i think its funny when people are bitter with each other.
while i do agree that Tim would enjoy outdoorsy stuff like rockclimbing or kayaking, i don't think he's that good at it. i def see him as like the nerdier brother and think that he got into stuff that he and Danny did together, but it would be like Danny trying to convince him to go on the black diamond while Tim zigzags his way down a blue square. idk what the rock climbing equivalent of that is but i do know that tim cannot do bouldering.
i also see tim as being aro-spec like demi-romantic bisexual or somewhere in there idk im aflux aroflux its all soup to me but he and sasha are queerplatonic to me. also don't @ me i think he at the very least flirted with elias a few times either pre-archives for funzies or at some point in s2-3 when he stopped giving a shit.
hcs are so fun bc they're like little outfits you can put your character in like not every fic i write will have all of these and some of my more minute ones contradic each other but they're like ships to me anywayyy

Hello! I recently reached 1300 followers and am literally, like… lowkey crying?
I know I say this every time. But I seriously cannot imagine myself ever having gotten this far. I can’t imagine anyone actually enjoying what I write, much less wanting to follow my silly little writing blog.

A lot of people is upset because of the finale and I get it, I kinda am too. But they just didn't have enough time to explore some major and minor parts of the story, like Hooty's origin so it just became like a hint at the finale, and the first part of Thanks to Them. We saw snippets, a few seconds clips of what could have been episodes. There are many ideas for building the story but they can't put all those up in their given time for season 3. The cancellation cancelled (obviously) some plans and ideas, creating plotholes (the bat queen, jean luc, titan's language, caleb and evelyn, caleb and phillip, hooty's origin but the finale kinda explained that?, the portal door, the titans, the archivists/collector, the owl beast, and probably few more).
It is kinda upsetting what Belos' fate is, but he deserved it lol. Like Dana said, sometimes you just cannot redeem a person idk the exact word but something like that. Maybe there could have been an alternate idea for Belos' fate but like I said, no time. It is rushed or maybe not but there's a change of plans. Maybe it is not how it was supposed to end or something like that.
I know it sucks, they ran out of time, and the more I think about the finale, the more I realize plotholes lol. They did their best but I guess we can't control what others would think and feel. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(summary of the semi theory: Shapeless One gave the name Noe cuz he killed everyone in the black market except Noe)

Even under the assumption young Noe was in fact fully aware of what happened...maybe he still got to “choose”(...) to follow Shapeless One, not even (only) because he was too young / scared / used to the slave status. The boy’s life was basically THAT hell in the black market - to the point Shapeless One was genuinely a life savior to Noe, who “finally” stopped the seemingly-never-ending pain “for him”...perhaps? It doesn’t necessarily mean Noe was happy merry at Shapeless One’s murders, but he’s likely to feel he owed him since that day.
This could explain why young Noe was (relatively) able to “process” the sudden horrible death/s/ and try to take some actual action against berserk Louis quickly, “better” than Domi. It was NOT the first time for Noe to see such a bloody gore scene. It makes sense “even more” that Noe (obviously) got shocked at Louis’ death and yet apparently never blamed Shapeless One so much. Noe came to have “even more” complicated feelings, combined with the old memory when he was “saved” by him in the black market. Possibly even the “same” way, who knows.
Besides...both Noe being an Archiviste & his connection with Shapeless One are suspiciously too /un/known to people in general, both humans and vampires. If Shapeless One simply “bought” Noe and “gently” left (lol), there would’ve been some witness(es) and/or trace(s) in some form, eventually causing great rumors and gossips about why THAT (in)famous Shapeless One even bothered to take the boy of all “things” for what purpose. Some might’ve tried to come after Noe & kidnap him to see what he is, out of curiosity or whatever. Like Ruthven got VERY interested in Noe both ways in the end.
But no - Shapeless One never stopped young Noe from making friends with random kids or freely going around for years. It doesn’t look like Noe got out of the castle area / Averoigne (freely by himself) since then, but still. Shapeless One was not worried about any attack. He’s so certain that such a thing wouldn’t happen - he “cleanly”(...) got rid of all the “dangerous elements” already.
Noe (& Archiviste) has been unknown and hidden enough for so long that he can travel by himself (with Murr, I know XD) quite safe without getting chased particularly so far, even with that “carefree” attitude (ex. getting all excited around Amelia he just met).
Noe is “somehow” pretty convinced that barely anyone would recognize him as an Archiviste first, as long as he doesn’t reveal it himself. That’s why he gets visibly stiff when someone else unexpectedly brings the name up to his face (ex. Count Parks Orlok, Jean-Jacques). Not only Shapeless One but also Noe himself is (usually) “sure” that there’s no one to (actively) raise his guard against “for that matter” - they’re all dead, and Noe saw it on that day.

Post-canon SnK headcanons. Contains spoilers for the end of the manga, please read at your own risk!
(DISCLAIMER: Please do not take these seriously lol)
Mikasa's partner/husband is Jean. She spends a few years mourning Eren and Jean is always there supporting her. They end up getting together at some point and having kids.
Jeankasa's first-born kid, regardless of gender, is named Eren.
Everyone else (mostly) has a kid named Eren too.
Mikasa tries to distance herself from politics but always ends up getting roped into disputes. She'd rather just be a housewife.
Jean is the next leader of the Survey Corps but after a coup he gets kicked out.
Falbi are the first couple to have a kid and it's unexpected. Falco doesn't really handle it well.
Falco has a job related to peace talks and Gabi uhhhh... Gabi probably sticks to military stuff.
Levi marries a woman he meets in Marley who's a friend of Onyankopon's. Initially he's very against the idea of having kids, but his wife points out that it would be a huge fuck you to Zeke, and that (eventually) convinces him to be a dad. Everyone is shocked when they find out.
Connie has a thing with Nicolo. They hook up after Connie starts working at Nicolo's restaurant.
Annie and Armin get together, rush into marriage, have an unexpected kid and things proceed to go tits up. Armin is very mentally unstable for most of the rest of his life.
Annie works as a martial arts instructor and passes on the teachings of her dad. Armin becomes a marine biologist after he steps down as the Survey Corps commander and passes the job on to Jean.
Reiner remains single because he doesn't think he's worthy of someone else's affection. (And his crush is taken.) He's a nurse? Idk I like nurse Reiner.
Pieck never marries. She spends her days working as an archivist for Marley.
Yelena survived and was arrested and sent to jail for war crimes. While in jail, she discovers she's pregnant, escapes and runs off to a far-away country. Her kid is either Eren's or Zeke's (I haven't decided which lol) and she keeps them hidden.
The kid walking up to Eren's tree at the very end of the manga is Mikasa's descendant and they're looking for Eren so they can awaken the powers of the Founding Titan and revive him.
Falco and Gabi eventually reclaim the Survey Corps from the Yeagerists and end up being in control of most of Paradis's military.
Onyankopon is a hairstylist? Also I see him getting married but maybe not having kids.
Historia's husband is killed during another uprising attempt but Historia and her daughter are unharmed.
A few decades after his death, Eren becomes a meme.
Eventually the idea of titans becomes a conspiracy theory and many people don't think they ever actually existed (or at least not in the way they did in canon).
Paradis eventually becomes completely uninhabitable -- as in the entire island, not just the hill. However, a handful of people escape to the underground and reside there. The underground is accessible through Eren's tree, and many inhabitants are related to the main/secondary characters.
Mikasa's descendant discovers the underground civilisation and gets to know the people living there.
Eren is chilling in paths in place of Ymir Fritz and gets a surprise when someone who looks kinda sorta like Mikasa shows up (don't ask me how they're able to use paths, maybe it's the direct contact with the Founder).
Maybe eventually, once it's destroyed, Paradis is treated as though it never existed and is erased from the history books. Similarly to Paradis residents being brainwashed into thinking the rest of the world is gone.
Mikasa passes on the Azumabito mark to her kids and they pass it on to theirs.
Mikasa's descendant never visited Paradis because it was destroyed before they were born, but they would always read their (great?) grandmother's diaries and letters and wished to go one day.
The dog seen with the kid is named Sasha. All dogs owned by Jeankasa's family are named Sasha. This one is Sasha V.

The Worms, Baby
Incomplete ficlet about Research. I never make in-fandom ocs so this is new.... hopefully enjoy??? If we want more research shenanigans I have a few more ideas for like their perspective of other events lol but here we go

Bree lolled his head back in the desk chair and glanced around the wide office, where his coworkers were (mostly) all diligently tapping away on their computers. Only Margaret’s desk was empty, and she was usually late so this wasn’t too concerning. Sure enough, she stumbled into Research not two minutes later, shaking herself off like she’d walked through a spiderweb, pale brown hair bouncing with her head movements.
“Doing alright there, Meg?” Bree asked with a bit of a grin.
“No!” she exclaimed, making enough of a ruckus for a few of the other researchers to glance up from their work. “Have you seen the worms?” She shuddered.
“The ones that have been, like, infesting the ground outside?”
“Yes!” Margaret exclaimed. “The little — ugh — the little white ones with the black ends? They’re everywhere, super nasty little guys, but I was walking in and Rosie pointed out I had one on my shoe.” She made a face and went about settling at her desk, right next to Bree’s.
“Where d’you suppose they’re coming from?” Bree mused, and there was a rattle from across the room as Julian (he was only twenty-seven, but he acted and dressed like he was sixty, which Bree had noticed was a common theme among these academic types) stood almost violently, ramrod straight as was his habit and looking rather uncomfortable with the attention he had garnered. He didn’t sit, though, despite his face reddening somewhat behind his stuffy half-moon glasses. Apart from his stiffness, Julian was actually rather funny, and certainly one of the larger characters in Research, so Bree didn’t mind.
“I have spent—” Julian began (rather dramatically, Bree thought), “—TWO WEEKS trying to identify and classify these things,” here he held up a glass mason jar that was uncomfortably full of little writhing things, “with no success. I have no clue what they are, and the members of FOUR reddit forums have not been able to help me. We don’t know their feeding patterns, reproductive behaviors, anatomy, or even mode of living. We don’t know how they got here, or what diseases they may carry.” He glanced around, suddenly self-conscious. “So… be careful.”
There was a long silence, and then Lauren, a Senior Researcher sort of supervising the office, asked quite loudly, “Have you had that in your desk the whole time?” The researchers hummed with laughter, and Julian nodded sheepishly before sitting down quietly and conversing with one of his desk neighbors. Lauren shook her head and laughed, confiscating the jar of worms kindly and moving on to other duties within her office, and the research floor fell into easy quiet once again. Margaret was settled now, and so they tapped and murmured away, researching all the odd things in the world. Bree was working with his desk neighbor named David — poor fellow got called into Bouchard’s office not a week before for some sandals-and-jeans thing and stayed home for a day after that — on a truly fascinating project about whether linguistic relativity can affect paranormal incident recollection, with promising results. Their previous project team member, a grumpy little man by the name of Jonathan Sims, with rectangular glasses and a simultaneous desperate desire to prove himself and an air of thinking he was better than everyone, had been moved to the Archives and promoted to Head Archivist. David and Bree had joked that it was more of a demotion — at least the research offices had windows, and people — but Jonathan had not taken kindly to that so they shut up until he left.
“Sims would’ve hated this survey,” David whispered with a grin. “Would’ve spat some academic nonsense about neutrality and question bias.” Bree’s attention returned to the task at hand — the formulation of a survey to be administered before someone came in to give a statement in order to gather linguistic and mental wellness data — and he laughed.
“Tell me about it,” he muttered.

Getting this in just under the wire for day 1 of @jonmartinweek prompt “Comfy Jumpers”. I get so much joy from writing these two in s1 and thinking “lol you idiots are going to be in love some day.”

Martin knows that Jon doesn’t approve of the way he dresses.
It’s not exactly a surprise. Jon doesn’t approve of much about Martin: his report-writing, his Latin translations, even his very existence seems to irk Jon at times. Frankly, the feeling is mutual. Martin was perfectly happy working in the library, where his boss wasn’t an overbearing perfectionist arsehole, and if he’d been given a choice in the matter he’d still be shelving books and updating the filing systems, not getting glared at for his clothing choices. He’s well aware that Jon never wanted him in the Archives either, but they’re here now, so Mister Head Archivist is just going to have to live with it. They’re both going to have to.
Jon isn’t subtle about his displeasure; it’s difficult to miss his pointed scowls at Martin’s scuffed trainers and graphic-print t-shirts. And considering that Sasha wears jeans and t-shirts some days as well—though admittedly she tends to plain colors or muted prints, rather than retro video game characters—it’s pretty clear that it’s less about the clothes than it is the person wearing them.
Well, Jon can scowl all he wants, because everything Martin wears technically falls within the Institute’s dress code and there’s not a word Jon can say to him.
Martin has always run hot, so as winter closes in and other people are bundling up in heavy coats and jumpers, he throws hoodies over his t-shirts and zips them up only far enough that the bright graphic prints are still clearly visible to Jon’s critical eye.
Yeah, he thinks sometimes when he walks into Jon’s office, get an eyeful of Yoshi and see how you like it.
Jon, for his part, seems determined to outlast the winter in his usual dress shirt and tweed jacket combo. Martin knows that Jon isn’t particularly warm blooded—he’s seen the way the man huddles into his jacket like a tortoise in its shell until the central heating warms the basement up in the mornings—but he still refuses to add so much as an argyle sweater vest to his outfit in deference to the season.
The only concession Jon makes to the weather is a voluminous gray overcoat and a dark purple scarf, which he takes off the moment he gets into the office, regardless of how cold it is before the ancient heating system creaks to life.
And, well, it’s none of Martin’s business if his boss is too much of a pompous arse to dress appropriately for the weather. If he wants to freeze his backside off to maintain his academic dignity, far be it from Martin to intervene. Martin doesn’t feel sorry for him, when he sees Jon blowing on his fingers to warm them up, or briskly rubbing his arms while he waits for the kettle to boil and he thinks nobody else is around. Not in the slightest.
It’s below zero on the day in December when the central heating finally gives up the ghost. Even Martin can feel the chill in the Archives this morning, keeps his hoodie zipped up all the way even when he runs into Jon in the kitchenette. Jon looks miserably cold, his shoulders hunched and his movements stiff as he makes his tea.
“Morning, Jon,” Martin says cheerfully. “Bit nippy, isn’t it?”
“Just a bit,” says Jon sardonically. Somewhere overhead, there’s a metallic clanking as the heating system starts up.
“Finally,” Jon mutters, casting his eyes upward. The pipes creak and clank some more, and there’s an odd whirring sound that Martin’s fairly sure isn’t normal, and then a long, descending groan into silence.
“Oh,” says Martin. “That doesn’t sound good.”
“Bloody hell,” says Jon, and storms off to his office. A while later, he sends an email to inform them all that he’s spoken to Elias and the heating is out for the whole building, and that they should all feel free to work from home for the rest of the day if they choose. Sasha and Tim waste no time packing up, but Martin lingers, agonizing over which notes and references he should take with him. He’s never before had a job where working from home was an option, and he isn’t Tim or Sasha, isn’t someone Jon trusts and actually wanted to work with. Martin needs to make sure he gets it right.
At last he thinks he has everything he needs, but still Martin is hesitating, fiddling with the strap of his satchel. Maybe he should just check in with Jon before he leaves, make sure there isn’t anything else he needs to do. Make sure Jon knows I’m going to be working today, not just skiving off.
The door to Jon’s office is standing ajar; Martin taps on it, and pokes his head in without waiting for a response.
Jon looks up as he walks in, his expression startled. He is wearing a jumper. A chunky knit jumper in a warm maroon color, with a Christmas tree and several reindeer on the front. One of the reindeer has a red bobble for a nose. The jumper is oversized, the ends of the sleeves falling past Jon’s wrists.
It’s...incredibly cute, which is not a term that Martin ever expected to associate with his arsehole boss. Attractive, in a severe, unattainable way, sure, but not cute. Yet somehow, here they are.
“Ah, Martin,” Jon says, looking flustered. “I, uh, I thought you’d left with the others?”
“I was—I just wanted to check in with you first, make sure you didn’t need anything. You should head home too, it’s freezing in here.”
“I—I’m perfectly fine.” Jon plucks at the front of the jumper, looking embarrassed. “This is, ah, I bought this for the Institute Christmas party, but it’s surprisingly warm—and quite comfortable.”
“Oh, that’s, uh, that’s not part of your usual wardrobe then?” Martin hazards a chuckle, and to his relief, Jon huffs an amused breath. He raises a hand to adjust his glasses, but his sleeve gets in the way; he pushes both sleeves up to the elbows, and oh no, that’s even cuter.
“No, not—not usually,” he says. Martin frowns, suddenly remembering.
“You didn’t wear it at the party last week, though?”
“No, it’s—it was from the previous year, when I was in Research. It-it didn’t seem appropriate this year, being in a management role. Fortunately I still had it in a box, though I, uh, I didn’t really expect anyone to see me in it.”
Martin feels a sudden pang of something that might be sympathy. He understands how it feels, the desperate pressure to be professional, to be taken seriously, the constant second guessing of what you’re doing, whether you’re giving away something you shouldn’t. It’s hardly the same, of course: Jon’s not likely to be fired for wearing a silly jumper. But...Martin gets it.
“Actually,” he lies, “I, uh, I have to meet with Sophie up in the library later, so I’m around for the day. I was just going to go out and pick up some early lunch. Thought I’d see if you want anything?”
“Oh, ah, where are you going?” Jon asks tentatively, looking surprised at the offer.
“I was thinking of that cafe just around the corner—maybe get some soup and a sandwich?”
“That would be...very nice, actually. If you’re sure you don’t mind?”
“I wouldn’t have offered if I did,” says Martin, and takes the ten pound note Jon offers him.
“Thank you, Martin,” says Jon, and it’s the probably the most sincere thing Martin’s ever heard him say. He finds himself smiling without meaning to.
“Not a problem.”
It’s too early for lunch, really, but Martin knows Jon never eats breakfast and he missed it himself this morning. He gets two portions of steaming tomato and basil soup and toasted cheese sandwiches from the cafe, and when he gets back, Jon’s found a small space heater to plug in, so his office is marginally warmer than the rest of the Archives. They sit on opposite sides of Jon’s desk to eat, talking about the case that Martin’s working on. It’s the first time Martin’s actually had the chance to properly discuss a case, rather than stumbling through his report while Jon watches expectantly; Jon listens, and asks questions, and even offers some helpful suggestions for Martin’s follow up. It’s...oddly nice.
(Jon also continues to look unreasonably cute in his oversized Christmas jumper, but Martin carefully ignores that.)
The heating gets fixed by early afternoon, and the Archives warm up to the point where Martin can unzip his hoodie. When he drops off his finished case report to Jon’s office, Jon is back in his shirt and jacket, the maroon jumper packed away out of sight. He looks perfectly staid and professional once again. I saw you looking cute, though, Martin thinks, and then tries to pretend he didn’t; he is not going down that route.
Jon glances up when Martin comes in, taking in the “Marvin the Martian” t-shirt that’s now visible beneath his hoodie. Instead of a disapproving scowl, however, he gives a small, hesitant smile.
“Thank you, Martin,” he says as he takes the report, and something flutters warm in Martin’s chest.
Oh no, he thinks.
