Thinking about how it definitely physically hurt Jon to burn Gerry's page. How severing a link to that much information probably drove the Eye mad.

Jon feeling the sensation of the page burning across his whole body. Feeling a wave of heat and searing pain consume him as the page burned in his waste bin. The light of the flames flickering their light across his eyes as he watched what was left of his friend burn away. Consumed in the pain, but accepting it because he knew he was freeing Gerry.

Jon who was so hopeful Gerry was still out there somewhere. Who was devastated to learn he'd died. Who was so excited to learn he was still around, in a way. Who had to burn his final tie to this plane and let him rest.

Ok so i tried something new and i think it turned out pretty good!

jonathan sims top character of all time. his best friend is his ex-girlfriend’s cat. he doesn’t drink coffee. he lies about his age but everyone believes him because he acts like a 60 year old man. the second he’s faced with death he asks his coworker if he’s a ghost. he later falls in love with that coworker. instead of having a beautiful narrative arc about the importance of friendship and surrounding yourself with anchors he had a meat freak rip out his rib. he’s canonically asexual.
