Measure Words
Let’s delve into another intriguing aspect of Mandarin Chinese: Measure Words
In Mandarin Chinese, nouns often require measure words when quantifying or counting objects. These measure words indicate the type or shape of the noun being counted.
Today we have ten commonly used Measure words and their uses:

Melody of Being Anime: Poetry
FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA. PALESTINE WILL BE FREE. | 30.03.2024
I whisper to my soul, this world remains indifferentto the paths we tread, yet God beholds them all.I remind myself we ought to live with intent, for God, the singular witness, notes our rise and fall.I battle myself, confront sins that Heaven’s gates will refuse. My heart alone speaks, yearning for that divine embrace. No fear of…

The glorious matatu life! (aka a day on the road in Kenya)
Siku njema means "good day!"
The coca cola ad says "chill with a cool coke" (burudika na coke baridi)
Haraka means fast, pembe means tusks, unga means flour, poa means "cool" (the standard response when people greet you with "mambo") - so basically this is the "awesome flour" brand I guess?
A hotel is actually a restaurant - don't try to sleep there
Once you know a hotel is a restaurant, this place ("Hotel and Butchery") actually makes a lot more sense as a concept!
A Maasai herder
Mubarak means blessed (yes, a LOT of words in Swahili come from Arabic)
Love this guy!
M-Pesa is the mobile payment system in Kenya. It's convenient, but some of the service fees are insanely high
On the move
Hanging out
That's the Great Rift Valley in the background!!
More Great Rift Valley
Entering Nairobi
Spending a day on a matatu (Kenyan minibus/shared taxi) can be exhausting, but I honestly don't think I'll get tired of it any time soon! 😊😊😊

The Savior complex/god complex goes hard and strong in the West. Sitting in front of a computer immersing oneself in outrage discourse and disturbing images of war sadly won't save anyone's life directly. That's the sad reality of war, and being nasty to people that choose to reduce exposure to violence as they try to continue being helpful in other ways is wrong.
Have these people never heard of watchers/bloggers who commit harmful acts to themselves or others after watching distressing videos, like that popular recent documentary about child sex trafficking networks in the US and Mexico? There were reports of people self harming or disappearing for days to contemplate their own existence, leaving their families and friends distressed and police on their case. These people felt powerless against the evils they watched and, honestly, what more could they do?? There's only so much awareness one can spread and charities one can contribute to. Otherwise, the world is awash with evils that we can't effectively flush out...a tragic reality we must face. We are not God.
I wish people stopped acting like online activism is sufficient and the peak of righteousness or superiority. It is the bare minimum. And people should still practice caution for their mental health.
Like, I don't know how to explain that just because there's a security crisis in Haiti and Kenyan police are being deployed there to join the effort, it's not a must that I actively post about it, immerse myself in dooming images/videos of the street violence and killings and then bully others because I think myself weirdly superior for 'caring' more than my fellow citizens.
In summary, you owe no one your mental health. Only you know how much you can handle. Don't push your limits and break.

I'm concerned about what I see is the fetishization around entrepreneurship in Africa. It's almost like it's the next new liberal thing. Like, 'Don't worry that there's no power because, hey, you're going to do solar and innovate around that.'

Kenyan gospel singer, Mary Lincoln’s bud£s leaked online. The nud£s were leaked online shortly after blogger, #marthamwihakihinga dropped hints that they are in possession of very hot nud£s of a leading Kikuyu vernacular singer. Hinga gave a vivid description of #marylincoln without naming her. The blogger claimed the #singer was sending her nud£s to a wealthy man who was to pay her Ksh35,000 rent at an apartment along Kiambu road. Hinga wrote; "One very last one at noon I will be off for the rest of this year of the Lord 2022. Nothing stinks like hypocrisy in the images I got hold of. One of your favourite female musicians who resides at Nyawira Apartment along Kiambu road is seen entertaining an unidentified male, who is not the husband with a video call, nak£d like an animal in the bathroom. She is doing this for money 35,000 rent better explained as HOEING! I am doing this zero remorse, I have never regretted exposing harlots who hide behind church. Kama ni wewe huyo wa dines kata miti sasa!" In the leaked video, Mary Lincoln was seen covered in a white towel before she stripped completely nak£d and exposed her well-toned body to the camera, entertaining a male who was on a video call with her. The gospel singer is married as a second wife to former Kameme FM presenter Njogu Wa Njoroge. Martha Mwihaki Hinga, a popular name on Kenya Facebook sphere, is a faceless blogger who has managed to unleash terror on the Central region’s gospel industry. #kenya #mycelebrityandi https://www.instagram.com/p/CkfwM3OLF-G/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
