Part 2: The DýoDevi

Vada (Greetings)! Welcome to my Kaênaasthan Pantheon Series. In this series I will be outlining the Devis (Gods) in the Kaênaasthan Pantheon; their domains, affiliations, and what is sacred to them.

Today we will be continuing the series with the 6 DýoDevi - The Second Generation of Devis.

Cybele-Durga

Domain & Title: Devi of Protection & Strength Body Part: Breath Element: Fire Planet: Saturn Sacred Colors: Red, Gold Sacred Flowers: Hibiscus Sacred Animals: Tigers, Bees Food: Rice, Kheer Syncretisms: Cybele, Durga Symbol: 🜂

When Gaia-Shakti broke free from the grasp of Pontoris-Varuna - the first mountain was created, and from this Cybele-Durga came to be. Originally, Cybele-Durga was the Devi of the Mountain - but she relinquished this domain when Devi Shailputri was born. She then became the Devi of Protection and Strength.

She had one consort, Kronos-Brahma, and with him brought one Devi - Jupiter-Brihaspati, the Devi of the Just Skies and Weather - into being.

Phoibê-Sarasvati

Domain and Title: Devi of Prophecy and Knowledge Body Part: Eyes Element: Water Planet: The Sun Sacred Colors: Yellow, White, Blue Sacred Flowers: Lotus, Magnolias Sacred Animals: Ravens, Swans Food: Citrus Fruits Syncretisms: Athena, Phoibê, Sarasvati Symbol: 👁

Phoibê-Sarasvati was the second of the DýoDevis. When Pontoris-Varuna asked the first question in existence, Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos moved to provide the first answer - but their words collided and brought Phoibê-Sarasvati into existence.

Her consort was Koios - and from their love the Devi of Family and Marriage, Lêta-Parvati, came to be.

Kronos-Brahma

Domain and Title: Devi of Time Body Part: Knees Element: Air Planet: Jupiter Sacred Colors: Bronze, Grey, White Sacred Flowers: Brahma Kamal Sacred Animals: Cranes, Spiders Food: Water Syncretisms: Chronos, Kronos, Brahma Symbol: ⴵ

In the Kaênaasthan Creation Myth, after hearing the Atakeía Pahala (the first Prophecy) Pontoris-Varuna once again attempted to take control of the world. Ouranos rushed to save Gaia-Shakti, and from their union Kronos-Brahma was born.

Kronos-Brahma originally ruled the domain of Time as a tyrant, but was brought to his knees by humanity. Before this time he was referred to as the Devi of Chaotic Time - but following humanities efforts he became known as the Devi of Sequential Time.

Kronos-Brahma's consort was Cybele-Durga, together the two brought Jupiter-Brihaspati into existence.

Koios

Domain & Title: Devi of Direction Body Part: Right Hand Element: Earth Planet: Earth Sacred Colors: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Brown Sacred Animals: Hawk Food: Stone Fruit Syncretisms: Koios, Plus Symbol: +

Koios is the twin brother of Devi Kriôs. When Kronos-Brahma sought to hide from the PrótaDevi, fearing they would take away his power, Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos searched the entire world for their lost progeny. From this search, the domains of Direction and Constellation were created - and so too were Koios and Kriôs.

Koios' consort was Phoibê-Sarasvati, and together they brought into existence Lêta-Parvati. However, after the death of his twin Kriôs, Koios became a hermit - leaving his consort and celestial family behind in favor of a life of Dhyanmos (Kaênaasthan Meditation).

Kriôs

Planet: Pluto Element: Air Domain and Title: Devi of the Unnamed Stars Sacred Colors: Black Syncretisms: Krios, Crius Symbol: ✦

Kriôs is the twin brother of Devi Koios. When Kronos-Brahma sought to hide from the PrótaDevi, fearing they would take away his power, Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos searched the entire world for their lost progeny. From this search, the domains of Direction and Constellation were created - and so too were Koios and Kriôs

After the fall of Ouranos, Kriôs attempted to steal Ouranos' severed penis (thinking it would give him power). This attempted theft, and the fight that ensued between Kriôs and the Devi Amiatê-Varuni, create the Devi of Chaos and Disorder - Persês-Rudra. The battle ended with Kriôs' death at the hands of Amiatê-Varuni; in this Kriôs is not considered a living deity and is not actively worshipped in Kaênaastha.

Amiatê-Varuni

Domain and Title: Devi of Water Body Part: Thighs Element: Water Planet: Neptune Sacred Colors: Blue, Green, White Sacred Flowers: Water Lily, Seaweed Sacred Animals: Sea Turtles Food: Raw Seafood Syncretisms: Amphitritê, Eurybia, Varuni Symbol: 〰

The only daughter of Pontoris-Varuna, Amiatê-Varuni was born when her father realized the errors of his ways in helping Ouranos - and joined Gaia-Shakti as her consort. Amiatê-Varuni is a powerful goddess whose domain includes all the oceans and seas of our world.

When Kriôs attempted to steal the severed penis of Amiatê-Varuni intercepted him - and from their collision the Devi Persês-Rudra was born. Kriôs and Amiatê-Varuni's battle ended when Amiatê-Varuni destroyed Kriôs.

Following this battle, to fill the void left by Kriôs , Amiatê-Varuni was given the gift of a child; Devi of the Moon and Stars - Asteria-Chandra.

Vada (Greetings)! Welcome to my Kaênaasthan Pantheon Series. In this series I will be outlining the Devis (Gods) in the Kaênaasthan Pantheon; their domains, affiliations, and what is sacred to them.

Today we will be starting with the 3 PrótaDevi - The First Generation of Devis.

Gaia-Shakti

Domain & Title: Mother Earth & Devi of Nature Body Part: Feet Element: Earth Planet: Earth Sacred Colors: Blue, Green, Brown, Gold Sacred Flowers: Chrysanthemums Sacred Animals: Cows, Lions Food: Garden Foods Syncretisms: Demeter, Gaia, Shakti Symbol: ⊕

Gaia-Shakti was the first Devi in all of creation, she is the mother of all Devis and because of this holds the title of MahaDevi. Gaia-Shakti is the personification of the planet Earth and the natural world.

She had two consorts, Ouranos and Pontoris-Varuna, and brought into existence a total of 6 Devis with them.

With Ouranos, Shakti brought into existence Cybele-Durga, Phoibê-Sarasvati, Kronos-Brahma, Koios, and Kriôs; and with Pontoris-Varuna she conceived and gave birth to Amiatê-Varuni.

Pontoris-Varuna

Planet: Neptune Element: Water Domain & Title: Devi of the Inhospitable Sea Sacred Colors: Blue, Grey, Black Syncretisms: Dôris, Pontus, Poseidon, Varuna Symbol: ꩜

Pontoris-Varuna was the second Devi in existence. He was the personification of the oceans at the dawn of creation, before there were organisms living in the sea.

In the Kaênaasthan Creation Myth (Shurūchí Samay aur Génnisi Devi) Pontoris-Varuna worked alongside Ouranos in an attempt to prevent new life forming on Earth. He then saw the error in his ways and moved to join the Devis fight against Ouranos.

His consort was Gaia-Shakti - with her he had one daughter, Amiatê-Varuni, whom he gave up his life and domain to protect.

Pontoris-Varuna is not considered a living deity and is not actively worshipped in Kaênaastha.

Ouranos

Planet: Saturn Element: Air Domain & Title: Devi of the Inhospitable Sky Sacred Colors: White, Grey, Black Syncretisms: Brahma, Ouranos Symbol: ☁︎

Ouranos was the third Devi in existence. He was the personification of the sky at the dawn of creation, before there were organisms living on land.

In the Kaênaasthan Creation Myth - Ouranos, with the help of Pontoris-Varuna, worked to prevent new life forming on Earth. Even when Pontoris-Varuna abandoned this effort, Ouranos continued to rule the skies as a tyrant until he was defeated by the progeny of Cybele-Durga and Kronos-Brahma - Jupiter-Brihaspati.

His consort was Gaia-Shakti - together the two brought into existence five Devis: Cybele-Durga, Phoibê-Sarasvati, Kronos-Brahma, Koios, and Kriôs.

Ouranos is also the father of the Devi Aphroditê-Kamakshi - who was created from Ouranos' severed penis after his death.

Ouranos is not considered a living deity and is not actively worshipped in Kaênaastha.

Specifically, I am wondering who Apollon, Artemis, Demeter, Persephone, and Hekate are present or synchronized in your practice. They are who I work with the most.

Hi Anon! Thank you for your question 💕

In my practice/Kaênaastha - synchronization focuses on combining not only deities with the same/similar domains but also deities with similar energies. These deities are almost entirely synchronized from the Greek Pantheon and the Hindu Pantheon.

Hekatê-Kali

Hekatê-Kali is a syncretism of the Greek Goddess Hekatê, the Greek God Hades-Pluto, and the Hindu Goddess Kali. From these deities Hekatê-Kali takes the domains of Magic, Wealth, and Death*.

*In Kaênaastha death references literal death, but also borrows from Hindu views on death as a rebirth (similar to how the Death card functions in Tarot).

Hekatê-Kali is one of only a few Devis In Kaênaastha that includes syncretisms of Deities with different genders - giving her a somewhat masculine personality/aesthetic, and a very gender neutral presence in the pantheon.

Apollôn

Apollôn is synchronized in Apollôn-Krishna, who is a syncretism of the Greek God Apollôn, the Greek God Helios, and the Hindu God Krishna (an avatar of Vishnu).

In Kaênaastha, Apollôn-Krishna is the Devi of Music, Art, and the Sun.

Artemis

Artemis is present in Kaênaastha - but only loosely.

The youngest of all the Devi’s is Shailputri - who is a syncretism of the Hindu Goddess Shailputri with slight influence from the Greek Goddess Artemis. Shailputri rules over the moon alongside Asteria-Chandra - and deer are sacred to her - but Shailputri is Devi of the Mountains and is not associated with hunting in any capacity.

Additionally, in Kaênaastha Apollôn-Krishna is twins with Hermes-Vishnu - so the dual aspect of Apollôn and Artemis isn’t really present.

Demeter

In Kaênaastha, the first Devi and the mother of all Devis (referred to as MahaDevi) is Gaia-Shakti. She is the syncretism of the Greek Goddess Gaia, the Hindu Goddess Shakti, and the Greek Goddess Demeter.

Gaia-Shakti is the Devi of the Earth and Nature, she presides over all living things - including plants and crops.

Persephone

The most popular myth surrounding Persephone (her being kidnapped away from Demeter by Hades) is not present in Kaênaastha. However, Persephone is a part of the Devi Aphroditê-Kamakshi, who is a syncretism of the Greek Goddess Aphroditê, the Hindu Goddess Kamakshi, and the Greek Goddess Persephone.

Aphroditê-Kamakshi is the Devi of Romantic Love, Sex, and Beauty; but also rules over flowers, sunrises, and sunsets. In her syncretism, Aphroditê-Kamakshi does take the softer elements from Persephone/Kore - but she does not take any of the elements from Persephone’s status as Queen of the Underworld.

Aphroditê-Kamakshi - Devi of Love 🩷

In Kaênaastha, Aphroditê-Kamakshi is the Devi (Goddess) of Romantic Love, Sexual Love, Lust, Beauty, & more. She is personified as Bisexual Trans Woman of Color (traditionally Indian)

Similar to the story of Aphroditê in Greek mythos - Aphroditê-Kamakashi was born from the severed penis of Ouranos. The Kaênaasthan myth does have some key differences, but for all intents and purposes the stories are basically the same.

I wanted to honor the original Greek myth, and the inherent trans imagery that comes from a woman being created from a phallus. I also wanted to center queer love and trans identity in the mythology of Kaênaastha (almost all of the Kaênaasthan gods are sexually/romantically queer - and a handful of them are trans/enby/gender-fluid).

In most mythology, we have to draw parallels between the language we use today and how that correlates with the myths of the past. In Kaênaastha, I wanted there to be no need for drawing these parallels by making the queer aspects of The Devis not only obvious but stated in modern terms.

I think there’s such beautiful symbolism in the fact that Koios’ Badan is the Right Hand and Hermes-Vishnu’s Badan is the Left Hand.

Koios, Devi of Direction - Devi of Navigation. Directions are so fixed, navigating from point A to point B is a series of steps and order. The Right Hand Path, Right of Way on the Road, “Right” as in “Correct.

Hermes-Vishnu, Devi of Travel - Devi of Adventure. True adventure is carefree and unplanned, it’s loose and not dictated by rules. The Left Hand Path, The Road Not Traveled, Left of Center.

But it is said that the “Left Brain” is the analytical brain and the “Right Brain” is the creative way - and so the dichotomy falls as all dichotomies do.

But Koios, a DýoDevi, two generations removed from Hermes-Vishnu, sets the groundwork for his successor. The order he’s laid gives way to the creativity that follows.

And they are both twins to powerful brothers, powerful brothers who rule over important domains in the cosmos. Brothers of Devis who hold high esteem among their followers, but who themselves have closer and more intimate relationships with their devotees.

It’s just - dear Gods I love it so much!!!

Kaênaasthan Creation Lines

I've made some updates since "#The Kaênaasthan Pantheon Series" to some of the domains and associations for the Devis - and I have also completed the Creation Lines!

Creation Lines vs Family Tree

You will see that in Kaênaastha, the hierarchy of creation is almost exclusively referred to as the 'Creation Lines' instead of as a family tree. This is done intentionally and with purpose.

In Kaênaastha, not all of the Devis are involved in a 'parent/child' or 'sibling/sibling' dynamic. Devis such as Cybele-Durga and Kronos-Brahma are not siblings, and they are not the "children" of Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos. These Devis, according to the Kaênaasthan creation myth, are by-products of the actions of their forebearers.

However, Devis such as Amiatê-Varuni as well as all of the CharaDevi (the fourth generation of Devis) are considered the children of those who came before them. They were, in myth, birthed and raised from infanthood.

Hyacinth, Ilā, Naranari, & Aristaeus

Ilā, consort of Hermês-Vishnu, and Hyacinth, consort of Apollôn-Krishna, are both what is known as Akons. According to the Vivaraftí Ka:

The Akon are the few human consorts of the Devis. While all of the Akon are now dead, their spirits and energies are said to live on within the hearts and minds of their Devotees.

Naranari & Aristaeus are what is known as Imīsy. This is the Kaênaasthan equivalent of a demi-god. In the Vivaraftí Ka it says:

The Imīsy are the divine children produced from the marriages between a Devi and a Human. Imīsy are not as powerful as Devis - and instead of overseeing their own domain Imisy assist existing Devis with one aspect of theirs. While not as impactful as Devis, Imīsy are still viewed as divine entities and are sometimes viewed as more approachable or reachable by devotees - due to their partial human parentage.

COVID & A Kaênaastha Update

Hi all, sorry I’ve been on an unplanned hiatus for a few days. I started feeling unwell on Thursday and tested positive for COVID on Friday :(

I’ll spare you the details but suffice to say I’m still really sick so the hiatus will probably go on a little longer.

On a related note, I realized in my illness that Kaênaastha has no deity for the domains of illness or health. I’ve been thinking on this for a couple days now and am tentatively thinking about adding the areas of Illness and Health to the Domains of Phoibê-Sarasvati.

As Devi of Knowledge and Prophecy, I like the idea of her also ruling over illness and health since health is so often a combination of science as well as intuitive and spiritual wellbeing. Additionally, I like the idea of mental health/disability being associated with the Devi of knowledge since so often us disabled folks are seen as unintelligent and we’re so often infantilized.

If I move forward with this I will probably do additional research and add Hygeia as part of her syncretisms (any/all Hygeia references welcomed via comments, reblogs, or asks!)

Additionally, I know medicine and health are domains of Apollôn (and his progeny) in Greek mythos - but Apollôn-Krishna’s energy doesn’t align with these domains in that same way.

Aphroditê - Kamakshi

Domain and Title: Devi of Love & Beauty Body Part: Groin Element: Water Planet: Venus Sacred Colors: Red, Pink, White Sacred Flowers: Roses, Myrtle Sacred Animals: Geese, Horses Food: Strawberries, Passion Fruit Syncretisms: Aphroditê, Kamakshi, Persephone Symbol: ♡

Aphroditê-Kamakshi is a canonic transgender Devi/Goddess in Kaênaastha. She came to be following the birth of Asteria-Chandra; when Asteria-Chandra was born, the rays of the moon shown on Earth brighter than ever before. These beams roamed the highs and lows of the Earth - and one beam in particular shone over the ocean, and settled on the severed phallus of Ouranos. From this Aphroditê-Kamakshi was born.

Aphroditê-Kamakshi has no consorts and no children.

Hekatê-Kali

Domain and Title: Devi of Magic, Wealth, and Death Body Part: Mind Element: Fire Planet: Pluto Sacred Colors: Black, Gold Sacred Flowers: Helleborus Nigers Sacred Animals: Owls, Snakes Food: Garlic, Onions, and Vegetarian Meals Syncretisms: Hekatê, Kali, Pluto Symbol: ꄗ

Daughter of Asteria-Chandra and Persês-Rudra, and twin to Dionysus-Shiva, Hekatê-Kali is regarded as an exceptionally powerful aromantic Devi. As Magic is a central part of Kaênaasthan tradition - Hekatê-Kali is among the most revered and highly celebrated of all the Devis.

She has no consorts and no children.

Dionysus-Shiva

Domain and Title: Devi of Intoxication, Rebirth, and Liminality Body Part: Stomach Element: Fire Planet: Uranus Sacred Colors: Purple, Gold Sacred Flowers: Bindweed, Datura Sacred Animals: Leopards, Donkeys Food: Grapes, Desserts, Bhang Syncretisms: Dionysus, Pan, Shiva Symbol: ☰

Child of Asteria-Chandra and Persês-Rudra, and twin to Hekatê-Kali, Dionysus-Shiva is a gender-fluid pansexual Devi. He primarily exists in his AMAB non-binary form of Dionysus-Shiva, but on occasion takes on a female form as Dionysus-Shakti.

He is the Devi that rules over alcohol, cannabis, and hallucinogens - and intoxication as an act of devotion is very common among his devotees.

He has no official consorts and no children.

Apollôn-Krishna

Son of Jupiter-Brihaspati and Lêta-Parvati, and twin to Hermes-Vishnu, Apollôn-Krishna is considered central to Kaênaasthan spirituality and practice. The arts are highly valued and seen as a key form of worship and reverence in Kaênaastha - and Apollôn-Krishna is central to these areas.

Apollôn-Krishna has one human consort, Hyacinth, and together they have one child - Aristaeus. Aristaeus is the Imīsy (Kaênaasthan Demi-God) of Bees.

Hermes - Vishnu

Child of Jupiter-Brihaspati and Lêta-Parvati, and twin to Apollôn-Krishna, Hermes-Vishnu is a non-binary Devi acts as the messenger for both inter-Devi communication as well as human to Devi communication. They also acts as the patron for anti-capitalistic domains.

Hermes-Vishnu has one human consort, a transgender woman named Ilā. They have no children.

Shailputri

Domain and Title: Devi of the Mountains Body Part: Hair Element: Earth Planet: The Moon Sacred Colors: White, Tan Sacred Flowers: White Hibiscus Sacred Animals: Deer, Songbirds Food: Milk, Ghee Syncretisms: Artemis, Hestia, Satī, Shailputri Symbol: ᨒ

Daughter of Jupiter-Brihaspati and Lêta-Parvati, and younger sister to Apollôn-Krishna and Hermes-Vishnu, Shailputri is the youngest and last of the canonical Kaênaasthan Devis.

The only virgin Devi within Kaênaastha, she has no consort and no children.

Why Kaênaastha?

I grew up in an area that had a very large Hindu and Sikh population, meanwhile I was raised Roman Catholic and was not allowed to participate with any of my Hindu/Sikh friends religious holidays or festivals. When I got into adulthood I began learning more about Hinduism (both from an academic and spiritual perspective) and began to incorporate aspects of Hinduism into my personal practice. Then, earlier this year, when I rejoined Tumblr I got really into Hellenic Polytheism/Hellenic Paganism. Both of these spiritual paths felt correct for me, but I personally found it really difficult to try to incorporate the two together in their whole forms. Additionally there were some aspects of these respective faiths that I didn't like or agree with. So I decided that instead of trying to fit myself into the frameworks of other traditions I would just make my own. (As a side note, I personally get frustrated when I find multiple sources for myth or practice that contradict - so it made my practice feel much easier to create my own religious/spiritual canon).

The Kitaab Pavos (Kaênaasthan Holy Texts)

In order to best answer this question I'm going to explain each of the 6 Kitaab Pavos.

1: Bhajan aur Gaani Gia O Devi [Hymns and Songs for the Gods]

The Bhajan aur Gaani exists as a central text that consolidates and houses any hymns, poems, songs, etc. written for or about the Devis.

2: Mithak Kahaanee Tou Devi [Myths and Tales of the Gods]

The Mithak Kahaanee is meant as a companion to The Shurūchí Samay. The Shurūchí Samay is the Kaênaasthan creation myth - whereas The Mithak Kahaanee is the collection of all other myths or stories about the gods that doesn't have to do with "The Creation".

In Kaênaastha all myths are viewed as symbolic - they aren't supposed to be read as literal truth, and instead as a cultural story that provides a backbone to certain moral and philosophical beliefs.

3: Raayaastha [The Opinions of the Faith]

The Raayaastha exists as a documentation of the morals, opinions, and thoughts of the Kaênaasthan faith and those who follow it. It expans upon the foundation laid by the Terah Alitheia and goes issue by issue throughout a variety of social, ecological, and political issues.

4: Shurūchí Samay aur Génnisi Devi [The Beginning of Time & The Birth of the Gods]

This is the Kaênaasthan creation myth, it "explains" how each of the Devis came to be.

The Shurūchí Samay is also meant to coexist with scientific data and the current understanding of how the universe, our solar system, and our planet came to be. While not meant to be taken literally (as stated above) part of the purpose of The Shurūchí Samay is for Kaênaastha to have a creation myth that doesn't contradict scientific theory and fact.

5: Terah Alítheia [The 13 Truths]

While not a direct allegory, The Terah Alítheia could be compared to the 10 Commandments found in the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. It exists as a foundational text that guides morality and Kaênaasthan belief.

While the title literally means "The 13 Truths" - it is more accurately described as "the 13 beliefs/moral guidelines".

6: Vivaraftí Ka Tou O Devi [Descriptions of the Gods]

The Vivaraftí Ka is where all of the correspondance (planets, sacred flowers, sacred animals, etc.) of the Devis can be found.

While these correspondance are not strict rules (if you use purple when honoring Hermes-Vishnu nothing bad is going to happen) they are considered traditional and it is also considered more respectful to utilize the correspondance in The Vivaraftí Ka.

Vada (Greetings)! Welcome to my Kaênaasthan Pantheon Series. In this series I will be outlining the Devis (Gods) in the Kaênaasthan Pantheon; their domains, affiliations, and what is sacred to them.

Today we will be continuing the series with the 4 TrítaDevi - The Third Generation of Devis.

Jupiter-Brihaspati

Domain and Title: Devi of the Skies Body Part: Arms Element: Air Planet: Jupiter Sacred Colors: Purple, Yellow, Gold Sacred Flowers: Carnations, Jasmine Sacred Animals: Eagles, Elephants Food: Bananas, Pork Syncretisms: Brihaspati, Jupiter, Zeus Symbol: 🌩

Created from the union of Cybele-Durga and Kronos-Brahma, Jupiter-Brihaspati is the first of the TrítaDevi. Following his creation, Phoibê-Sarasvati bestowed upon him knowledge and Cybele-Durga bestowed upon him strength. Jupiter-Brihaspati harnessed these blessings in his battle with Ouranos, which culminated in Jupiter-Brihaspati severing Ouranos' phallus - ending his reign over the skies.

Jupiter-Brihaspati's consort is Lêta-Parvati, and together they have three children: Apollôn-Krishna, Hermes-Vishnu, and Shailputri.

Lêta-Parvati

Domain and Title: Devi of Marriage & Family Body Part: Heart Element: Earth Planet: Venus Sacred Colors: Teal, Turquoise, Gold Sacred Flowers: Calla Lilies Sacred Animals: Peacocks, Goats Food: Apples Syncretisms: Hera, Leto, Parvati Symbol: ♥

Following Ouranos' downfall, Koios and Phoibê-Sarasvati fell in love; and from this love came Lêta-Parvati; the embodiment of family (chosen or blood), marriage, and familial love.

Her consort is Jupiter-Brihaspati, and together they have three children: Apollôn-Krishna, Hermes-Vishnu, and Shailputri.

Persês-Rudra

Domain and Title: Devi of Chaos & Disorder Body Part: Shoulders Element: Fire Planet: Mars Sacred Colors: Red, Maroon, Black Sacred Flowers: Black Dahlias Sacred Animals: Vultures, Boars Food: Spicy Peppers Syncretisms: Hades, Persês, Rudra Symbol: ◣

Born from the chaotic collision in the battle between Kriôs and Amiatê-Varuni, Persês-Rudra is the Devi of Chaos and Disorder. Despite this seemingly negative domain, Persês-Rudra is revered as a kind and loving Devi. Chaos and Disorder are not negative, they are simply the natural opposites of order and organization. Kaênaasthans believe that it is not chaos and disorder that is negative, but how individuals respond to them that can be negative.

Persês-Rudra's consort is Asteria-Chandra, together they are akin to the concepts of Yin and Yang in chinese philosophy - while seemingly opposites the two compliment each other and bring reality into it's fullest form. Together they have two children - Hekatê-Kali and Dionysus-Shiva.

Asteria-Chandra

Domain and Title: Devi of the Moon & Stars Body Part: Back Element: Water Planet: Moon Sacred Colors: Navy Blue, White, Silver Sacred Flowers: Gardenias Sacred Animals: Nightjar Birds, Antelopes Food: Mooncakes, Bao Syncretisms: Asteria, Chandra, Luna, Selene Symbol: ☾✧

Following the death of Kriôs, the domain of the stars was left unoccupied. Never before had a Devi died without another to take over control of their domain. To fill this void, the universe granted Amiatê-Varuni the gift of a daughter - and that daughter was Asteria-Chandra, Devi of the Moon and Stars.

Asteria-Chandra's consort is Persês-Rudra, and together they have two children who embody both the peace and beauty of the moon and the chaos and madness of a raging fire; Hekatê-Kali and Dionysus-Shiva.

November 23, 2023: Davagorí ka Jupiter-Brihaspati

Every year, on the fourth Geru in the month of Brihsper, is the Kaênaasthan Puja “Davagorí ka Jupiter-Brihaspati”.

(Every year, on the fourth Thursday in November, is the Kaênaasthan Festival/Holy day “The Feast of Jupiter-Brihaspati)

This Puja celebrates Jupiter-Brihaspati’s defeat over the PrótaDevi Ouranos; it celebrates the triumph of good over evil, heath over sickness, and light over dark. The day includes a large feast (made in Jupiter-Brihaspati’s honor), a formal Puja, and the retelling of the story of Ouranos’ defeat as it is written in the Shurūchí Samay.

I have included a passage from the Shurūchí Samay below ⬇️

“The skies shook as Jupiter-Brihaspati called on the forces of nature and rallied them in an epic battle against the tyranny that had befallen them. Jupiter-Brihaspati, at the peak of his power, harnessed the tempests, winds, and rain, unleashing the elements to challenge the polluted dominion of the heavens.

Ouranos battled Jupiter-Brihaspati relentlessly, but his strength began to waver as he realized that in poisoning the world - he had also poisoned himself.

As the climax of their confrontation drew near, Jupiter-Brihaspati seized the moment that would forever define the world. With a flash of divine determination and an unyielding spirit, he drew to light a celestial blade. And with a single, mighty stroke, he severed Ouranos' member, defeating him and restoring order to the world.”
