Muse Preview- Jacqueline
The oldest of the Acker siblings and one year older than Thomas. She’s also the black sheep of the family, actively rebelling against her parents. She’s aware her brother has secrets but hasn’t guessed the extent of them though for the record she doesn’t care. She does care that he seems to get away with more and that Jeannie will cover for him.
Does not like being called Jackie’. Does like being called ‘Jac’ though.
Loves punk rock and metal which is reflected in her personal style.

Apple family redesigns + Family tree
Original posts, info and links down below Keep reading
Apple "Jacqueline" Jack + Rainbow Dash
Apple "Jacqueline" Jack I've added some extra colors to her mane, as I think the design could be pushed further without making her unrecognizable. The extra features I have added are also to make her design more interesting, as well as a call back to her work at the farm.
I wanted her design to look feminine but also masculine, as that is something I feel fits her character.
Rainbow Dash Dash's whole color pallet has turned more dark and grey, as this is just a personal taste of mine. Her body features have turned sharp, as a way to show her speed and as a pegasus body type.
She still works for the Wonderbolts as a captain, her badge shows this. Dash is still very adventurous and bold, pushing herself further than she probably should.
Big McIntosh + Sugar "Cube" Bell
Big McIntosh I've darkened his whole pallet, as I wanted him to contras his siblings. I personally also like the fan canon that he's either trans/a drag queen, which he is here in All Love No War AU. So once all the work is done, Big Mac can let his more feminine colors out, which his wife very much supports. She gets to make him pretty and make him feel like his true self.
Sugar "Cube" Bell I've greyed her whole pallet and made her figure more long, as that's the way I draw unicorns. I've shortened her hair and let it loose, as I think it would change with time and all the kids she's had. Plus her working now at the farm and long hair would get stuck on a lot of things. Both are happily married and have been for years now. They have learned to work around their faults and love each other deeply and never would pick another.
Tender Taps + Apple Bloom
Tender Taps Taps is still a dancer but he's now become a backstage dancer. Working with ponies such as Sweetie Bellè, Coloratura "Colorful" and even Songbird Serenade. After passing his exam he was recruited by Sapphire Shores personally and has worked under her ever since.
His whole pallet has been darkened and his markings are very sharp and frame his face. His mane is pretty much the same, it's just become darker and an extra line has been added. For his cutie mark, I've added a bowtie and some sparking but I didn't add much, as I felt it already fit him. The outfit he has on is for the next show, where the theme is more rock.
Apple Bloom Bloom has grown much in height, towering over everyone except her big brother Mac. She still works at the School of Friendship, teaching biology and about cutie marks with (Scootaloo) Speedy Scoot-"aloo".
I made her whole pallet warmer and all of her accessories soft in color. So even though she is extremely tall, she still feels welcoming and like a friend. I've added more color to her mane, making a gradient from a darker red to a pinkish one. Her cutie maker is now more about her talent than just the Cutie Mark Crusaders, the heart in the middle is what ties them together. After Goldie Delicious's passing, she decided to wear her shawl, in memory of her.

A Complaint for My Lady of Gloucester and Holland
Although the “Complaint” is focused on Jacqueline and includes a potentially subversive chorus of grieving women in support of her, Eleanor makes an oblique and threatening appearance about halfway through […] This characterization of Eleanor persists for several more stanzas, referring to “fals Circes,” and “cirens,” whose “fals incantacyouns” and “fals medecynes … / þe prynces hert agaynst al lawe / Frome his promesse his hande to drawe.” Although Eleanor was only publicly accused of witchcraft in 1441, these references in a poem generally dated to 1428 suggest that her reputation preceded that. Eleanor’s position at the heart of an adulterous (and possibly bigamous) love triangle also linked her—as it linked legendary adulteresses like Guenevere and Iseult—to witchcraft, in sharp contrast to Jacqueline, the “goodely fayre pryncesse” for whom “yong and olde [cry] in oone.” A transgression in one realm, one might say, opens a door to transgressions elsewhere. Striking too is the nature of the enchantment, that of the “chaunteresse” or “Ciren.” Although the references to mermaids and “courage serpentyne” may also recall the half-snake figure of Mélusine, the fairy ancestress of the counts of Lusignan, the repetition of “songe” and constant emphasis on voice locate Eleanor’s power elsewhere, a theme to which later depictions of her will return. —Kavita Mudan Finn, “Tragedy, Transgression, and Women’s Voices: The cases of Margaret of Anjou and Eleanor Cobham,” Viator 47.2 (2016).

Jackie Kennedy Responds to Richard Nixon
In my essay, Waking Up In Dallas, I noted that John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, who faced off in the 1960 Presidential election, had once been close friends dating back to when they were freshmen in Congress in 1947.  Although their relationship was changed by the 1960 Presidential campaign, Nixon was deeply troubled by Kennedy's assassination and wrote Jacqueline Kennedy this letter hours after President Kennedy's death:
Dear Jackie, In this tragic hour Pat and I want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. While the hand of fate made Jack and me political opponents I always cherished the fact that we were personal friends from the time we came to the Congress together in 1947.  That friendship evidenced itself in many ways including the invitation we received to attend your wedding. Nothing I could say now could add to the splendid tributes which have come from throughout the world to him. But I want you to know that the nation will also be forever grateful for your service as First Lady.  You brought to the White House charm, beauty and elegance as the official hostess of America, and the mystique of the young in heart which was uniquely yours made an indelible impression on the American consciousness. If in the days ahead we could be helpful in any way we shall be honored to be at your command. Sincerely, Dick Nixon
Several weeks later, the widowed former First Lady responded to Nixon's letter.  Jackie's response was handwritten, featuring the odd punctuation she often used in her handwritten notes, and remarkably prophetic.  A year earlier, Nixon had announced that he was leaving politics after a disastrous loss in a bid to become Governor of California.  Coming just two years after his narrow defeat to JFK, Nixon's political career looked to be finished.  He and his family moved to New York where Nixon joined a prestigious law firm and seemed to be removing himself from the political world.
Even in the midst of her mourning, Jackie recognized that JFK's death might be the opening Nixon would need to make a political comeback and finally realize his goal of becoming President.  Jackie might have recognized this before Nixon did himself.  Her political instincts were sharp and her foresight was incredible, but her letter was also heartbreaking as she warned of the dangers that could come with the Presidential prize:
(Punctuation, phrasing, and spelling is as it was in Jackie's original handwritten letter.)
Dear Mr. Vice President -- I do thank you for your most thoughtful letter -- You two young men -- colleagues in Congress -- adversaries in 1960 -- and now look what has happened -- Whoever thought such a hideous thing could happen in this country -- I know how you must feel -- so long on the path -- so closely missing the greatest prize -- and now for you, all the question comes up again -- and you must commit all you and your family's hopes and efforts again -- Just one thing I would say to you --if it does not work out as you have hoped for so long -- please be consoled by what you already have -- your life and your family -- We never value life enough when we have it -- and I would not have had Jack live his life any other way -- thought I know his death could have been prevented, and I will never cease to torture myself with that -- But if you do not win -- please think of all that you have -- With my appreciation -- and my regards to your family.  I hope your daughters love Chapin School as much as I did -- Sincerely Jacqueline Kennedy
Jackie Kennedy's predictions in her heart-wrenching letter were correct.  In 1968, Nixon was elected President.

April 8, 2023: Neither Time Nor Grief is a Flat Circle, Christina Olson
Neither Time Nor Grief is a Flat Circle Christina Olson
The camellias are blooming in the rain, red and pink, real-life Valentine’s Day decorations. Their petals are not confetti or streamers, their petals are decaying organic matter that will fall and rot and feed the ground. And whoever said that grief was a flat circle was wrong, too; our friend Andy is dead now, and my grief is not flat. My grief is a sharp, hot thing that pokes me in the spine whenever I am crabbily unloading our dishwasher or I spend another Saturday sleepwalking the internet. Your one precious life, says my grief. Huh. I tell my grief to get lost but it stays here with me, wedges itself between my hip and the arm of the couch, like a dog that wants to be close but doesn’t really understand physics. Like it is a dog, I push my grief away and then I feel bad and invite it back, pat the cushion next to me, smell its wet breath. It’s oppressive, this grief, yet without it I feel terribly alone, wandering through the pandemic. The virus didn’t kill Andy—his heart quit. He went into a coma and he died. One day he was alive and now he’s not. The camellias are wet in the rain, no one told them about Andy. One day I’ll have more dead friends than living ones and people will think I’m lucky because that means I’ll have lived a long time. And that I had friends. I thought that writing this poem might help, but it didn’t. And so I tip this poem into an envelope and I mail it to you, reader. It’s yours now: the grief, the dog, the shuddering flowers. When you are lonely, this poem falls out of the book you’re not reading. You’re crying now, or maybe it’s just the rain.

🆕 Crystal Springs Chapter 30: "What Comes Next" now up on ao3/ff dot net!
Chapter 30: What Comes Next
Jacqueline wakes up; Jack fixes the Dome. With everything all but wrapped up, what comes next?
ao3 | ff dot net
you guys...she's finished.
Crystal Springs is actually, honest to goodness, FINISHED. THIS IS THE LAST HECKING CHAPTER! I AM BALLING IN THE CLUB RIGHT NOW!
Please, take my humble excerpt while I SOB UNCONTROLLABLY--
Bright. It was bright. It had been so, so dark and now it was so, so bright. Why was it so bright? She cracked open her eyes. Bright. Blurry. Sunlight. Water. Humid air. Blue eyes. “…Jack?” A sharp inhale. “Oh, darling. I’m so, so sorry.” “Momma?” She was being crushed. Her tummy hurt. Momma was sniffling. “But where’s…where’s Jack?” She tightened her hold. She didn’t reply. This was wrong. It was bright out. Too bright. But it wasn’t the right kind of bright. She closed her eyes tightly. Opened them again. Squinted. It was bright. Way too bright. Artificial bright. She groaned, turning her head to the side. Blue eyes. “…Jack?” “Jacqueline?” On the edge of his seat, Jack watched as Jacqueline’s eyes finally opened—only to immediately shut tight once more as she winced at the bright light. She groaned. Wrinkled her nose. Her eyes popped open again, blues meeting blues. She blinked. Smiled. “You are here.” “Welcome back, little flurry.”
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE WHOLE THING I AM A MESS! AND I HAVE NOBODY TO BLAME BUT MYSELF!
So, indeed. What DOES come next? Read on at ao3 and ff dot net to find out!
Want to start from the top and read it ALL IN ONE GO, NOW? You can do that HERE on ao3 and HERE on ff dot net! I think it's time for a new pinned post now, lol.
Story summary and chapter musings below the cut!
It’s been almost a year since Jack Frost thawed and things are looking…well, not so great. Jack’s powers are seemingly gone. Without them, the Dome that keeps the North Pole safe from the cold and its magic controlled is melting, putting everything and everyone magical at risk. Unable to hide his power shortage any longer, Jack is forced to admit the truth. Thankfully, there is a solution: enacting the Legate Law, bringing Jack and the sister that he hurt so many centuries ago back together again. But when Jacqueline starts experiencing destructive blackouts, the pair are forced to head back home to Crystal Springs, bringing Jack face to face with the rest of the family. Needless to say, between getting his powers back, helping his sister figure out what in the FROST those blackouts even were, reconciling with his parents, meeting the two even younger siblings he didn’t even KNOW he had, NOT TO MENTION the ancient threat that’s had it out for the ENTIRE Frost family finally making a move? Saving Christmas (regrettably) is looking to be a little bit…complicated.
And there we have it! After way too many years, Crystal Springs is done! Again again! TBH it's probably a GOOD thing I paused halfway through rewriting--my writing has gotten muchas better and I don't think the story would be as lovely as it is now if I HADN'T taken a huge long ass pause from round 2 for a haute minute!
So, here's what's 🆕 This Chapter:
Kept the sillies but made them FLOW better
Since Fino got a whole ass bonding scene with Jack a couple chapters back, the Elfirmary scene went to Fiera instead, and it is LOVELY. It worked out well! She surprised me a BUNCH!
Lucy is in character now :) Love to see it :)
WORD COUNT!!!!!!
And I think that's about it!
OG 2014 Edition: 7,114k words
NEW 202X Edition: 15,387k ish words
Thank you all so much for reading and commenting and creating with me! I really hope that Crystal Springs is as delightful a read as it was to write 🥰🥰
In the meantime! Here's what we can expect to see from the CS-Universe:
Frostmas making it's way over to ao3 monthly! Complete with minor edits for a fresh ✨GLOW UP✨
Smile Shots creeping over there
NEW Smile Shots creeping up over here
The usual scrimblies
Into the Shadows musings? We'll see. She's a little disjointed rn but will be sO FUN once I've got all the threads connected 🥳🥳
And thank you from the very bottom of my heart for coming along on this ride with me! And the asks and the art--all of it has been so, so amazing and SO lovely to see! I cannot tell you all how happy my heart is knowing these lil fucks (affectionate) have resonated with you all, too 🧡💙🤍💖

Writeblr Garden Advent Calendar
December 12: Holidays
“A little to the left.”
“Here?”
Judas sighed. “Your other left.”
“I don’t have an ‘other’ left.” Rose said, holding the tinsel garland up against the mantle.
“My left, not yours.”
“Judas, I’m facing the wall like you are. There’s no ‘other’ left.”
“May I?” Vlad asked, coming to stand next to his wife.
“Knock yourself out.” Rose said, handing the garland to her husband and stepping back from the mantle. “Maybe you can figure out what the hell my brother wants.”
“It’s not that hard to understand.” Judas said, loosely folding his arms.
“It is when you make no sense.”
“If you had more sense, you’d get it.”
“You–!”
“Children!” Colette Rowan’s voice cut through the bickering like a sharp knife, and the two young adults turned to look at her. “What did I say about fighting during the holidays?”
“To not do it.” Judas said, and Colette nodded.
“Good, you were listening.”
Rose snorted, then scoffed. “Why don’t you ask us for something equally unattainable, like grandchildren.”
Vlad snorted as he finished hanging the tinsel up, and came to stand next to his wife, who was looking very smug, while her mother had a more disapproving, severe expression on her face. “Now, dear, I don’t think your mother is so wrong to want a little harmony during the holidays.”
“Oh, please.” Rose scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Asking for us to be harmonious is like asking the Pope to convert to Protestantism.”
“Rose!” Colette’s scolding tone emerged once again at her daughter’s remark, while Vlad did nothing to hide his amused smile.
“Or Eastern Orthodoxy.” Judas added, and smiled innocently when his mother turned her scorching eye on him.
“Please, no swearing.” Vlad remarked dryly, and Rose laughed.
Colette looked at her children for another long moment, then sighed and walked out of the room.
“Rosie!”
Rose turned when her younger sister called her name, and looked down to see the young girl run up to her with an ornament in hand. “Yes, Jackie?”
“Will you help me hang this?” Jacqueline asked, holding the ornament out to her sister. “All the places I can reach are full of other ornaments, but I really want to put this one up.”
Rose smiled and accepted the ornament from her sister. “Of course.”
“Shall we hang it together?” Vlad suggested, and Jackie tilted her head in confusion. “You can sit on my shoulders and help your sister put it on the tree.”
“Oh!” Jackie exclaimed, her eyes widening. “Yes, please!”
Vlad smiled and picked her up with ease, then settled her comfortably on his broad shoulders. “Shall we, my lady?”
Jackie giggled at the formality, and then nodded. “Yes!”
“Perhaps this year you can put the star on top of the tree as well.” Rose said, placing her hand on Jackie’s back.
“Ooh, yes!”
The walk over to the tree was short, since the room they had been in previously had not been particularly far away, and soon Jackie was poised to put the ornament and the star on the tree. Louis, the younger of the two brothers, stood to the side by his father, Marius, while Judas watched his youngest sister with a cautious eye, since he didn’t doubt she might lean too far in one direction and possibly fall off his brother-in-law’s shoulders — though he doubted Vlad would ever let such a thing happen. Colette was off to the other side of the tree, and watching her daughters and son-in-law with a small, warm smile.
The holidays were chaotic, that was true, but there was also a serenity to them that was found in small moments like this — when everyone was together and the house was decorated or in the process of being decorated. There was a warmth that was not found during any other time of the year, and despite the bickering between family members, a sense of peace and, ironically, harmony.
“Happy Christmas, darling. Rose said, leaning in to kiss Vlad.
Vlad smiled and leaned in to meet her. “Happy Christmas to you, too, dear.”

For the OC ask game: Katherine
OC ASK GAME -> Not Accepting
Full name: HM Queen Katherine of Sunderland (neé Lady Katherine Geraldine Rothman)
Best friend: Ruby was her longest friend, in the sense that she never drove Ruby away. That's not to say they never argued, though . . .
Sexuality: She was most likely bisexual, and might even have been more open about it if she had been born into a less heteronormative culture where women weren't pressured into marriage.
Favorite colour: Red
Relationship status: She was married to James II for 27 years.
Ideal mate: None. She's an independent soul.
Turn-ons: She has a lot of turn-offs, those would be easier to list, honestly.
Favorite food: Lamb chops, the more tender the better!
Crushes: She developed several crushes on the high society women in her rotation. Crush is a little bit of a misnomer, these feelings were more fuelled by possession and lust rather than innocent romantic feelings.
Favorite music: Frank Sinatra was her favourite artist.
Biggest fear: Pregnancy. She hated pregnancy.
Biggest fantasy: Dominating the people around her. She often compensated for her perceived lack of worth by rubbing her status of Queen into the faces of her inferiors.
Bad habits: She was very snobbish and judgemental and this is a habit that was inherited by her grandchildren James and Jacqueline. Jacque especially was under Kitty's influence which explains her cruel nature.
Biggest regret: getting riled up by James so often, probably.
Best kept secrets: Her true feelings towards her husband James.
Last thought: Currently dead, but her last real thought was probably just acceptance surrounding her death. She'd lived a long life and was ready to go.
Worst romantic experience: Probably being hounded by James and his family while still grieving her brother.
Biggest insecurity: Being a woman in a patriarchal monarchy
Weapon of choice: She was very sharp-tongued.
Role Model: She never in her life looked up to another person, nor did she ever take people's advice. She honestly fucked herself by listening to the people around her.

Twisted Wonderland OC: Jacqueline "Jackie" Hookson, inspired by Captain Hook from Peter Pan.
Jackie is a 3rd Year student at NRC and the dorm leader of Shanteydiabolus. The dormitory is known to be very territorial and its students are very intimidating and full of madness, but in reality, they are also funky and loud bunch known to love folk tales and music.
Jackie is known to be the maddest of the bunch and giving off an initial bad vibes but the closer you get to her, the more you realise she is just a weirdo with no sick intentions. Many rumour that she never learned physical and emotional behaviours due to an abusive household. She is known for being very protective and values her dormitory students as family.
She has a concerning obsession with sharp things, hence why she joined teh swordsmen club in NRC. Hates children (really bad at handling them), always triggered when the slightest tik of a clock rings. There are no clocks in their dormitory or her classrooms because she has broken almost all of them (the school saved whatever they could).
Floyd calls her a killer whale/Orca-san because you never know when they can be friendly or deadly.
She also hates animals, especially crocodiles (or does she? 👀).
