The connection (indeed, all connections I know of) relies on the Star Trek: Phase One promotional card set released for the game in 2014. Unfortunately, packs for this set were apparently removed from the in-game shop in 2016. I don’t believe the set was advertised as a limited-time affair on release, but was rather intended to be permanent (tho I can’t easily check, the forums are gone and Wayback Machine coverage is lacking). Nevertheless, it wasn’t permanent, and neither of the two remakes (Infinity Heroes and Infinity Wars Classic) include any Star Trek cards.

To complicate things a tad more, existing cards weren’t deleted when the packs were removed from sale, and the original game allowed player-to-player trading. So a player who missed out on the ability to buy those packs would still have been able to get existing copies of the cards all the way until the game shut down (assuming it even has, the servers might still be up for all I know, I haven’t checked in forever).

i feel like this page perfectly sums up why i love quill and gamora’s dynamic in the comics. like despite gamora literally killing peter a few issues ago he still defends her— he even senses that thanos might have something to do with it before anyone else can come to that conclusion. and the line “perhaps having a star-lord alive makes all the difference” proves just how much of an impact peter has on gamora, the insinuation that maybe because she lost him in another universe that’s why she went down an even darker path.

idk how to best put it into words but whether romantic or platonic or something in between that i just really love these two’s relationship in pretty much every version of the guardians i come across (comics, movies, show, game, etc).
