Just finished 2 skeins of sleeve yarn and once again marveling at how little yardage im fitting on a bobbin with this stuff--each skein was 60 yards (55 meters). And each skein was a totally full bobbin of plied yarn (and my singles each took up a bobbin). Part of it is that its very airy (and bulky weight, obviously), and the other part is that my take up is not very high so its not compacting down as it goes on, but even so, it feels like a lot of yarn when i was holding it ! And the spinning and plying was only maybe 2 hours ! Bulky yarn is crazy

#so nice though #the carding takes a day or two so im never spinning back to back days which is actually kind of nice #and then i can get the spinning and plying done in one day as long as i keep the tension low (less stress on my joints that way)#and break it into a few sessions #ideally id also be using up the yarn as fast as i was making it but im spending most of my knitting time on that scarf #i moved the sweater panel to straights because i thought i would hurt my hands less #which it isnt but i feel like the reason for that is more to do with how unbalanced it feels and how i can never get the stitches #to sit at the balance point on the needles so theyre not trying to fall out of my hands #which i think is user error really #also thought i was getting lever knitting straights (i.e. the very very long ones) but i dont think i did in retrospect #theyre too short to press the left one into my hip while sitting unless i slouch a ton which i dont remember it being the last time #i tried lever knitting. so maybe i might have better luck if i actually got a pair of those #anyway its going fast when i can knit. and its Very soft and so satisfying to knit #excited to get to the front panel so i can do a design #not sure what though #ooh a beet would be really cool #dont know if i could render it in brown though... id like if it could be all hand dyed and ive never gotten a red #on the other hand could do my best to dye some yarn with beets and then it could be more symbolic of red than actually red lol #spinning #bulky sweater spin

“nope, hes mad about me kickin him out for causing a scene.” you said, throwing on one of his shirts, obviously too big on you.

you would call it a good day without having to deal with sinji and just at peace. but things were always short lived.

“you either spent twenty grand or someone has your information. and you can check my account too, i dont have anything.” he said, handing you his phone. you checked yours, him being correct and seeing that your saving of twenty grand had been taken out.

you felt your heart drop, pacing back and forth with phone in hand and borderline panicking. hakari tried to console you, yet to no avail.

“i would suggest checking that.. gamblers phone.” sinji said, pointing at him and then looking at you then him. “he should be the first person you ask, since it isnt his first rodeo.”

had hakari been one on one with sinji, if looks could kill, if he could strangle sinji to death, he would. because who the fuck was he accusing?

one thing hakari noticed was when you were frantic, panicking or just not even okay, you were easy to talk into things. a flaw you had, that unfortunately sinji took advantage of. the difference between them? hakari knew how to calm you. a nice bath, hed treat you to whatever sweet shit you wanted, made- no, demanded you to feel like a princess and order him what to do, would talk to you so sweetly and be at your leisure. as for sinji, hed coerce you to do things that can fuck anything up, and hakari could see that shit from next year.

“check his phone, girl.” sinji said, and then hakari rolled his eyes and handed you his phone. you reluctantly took it, knowingly that he couldnt have taken it, he was with you the whole time! and he was getting better… right? he did.

“passcode is yer’ birthday, mama.” he said, taking a swig at his water. he should be drinking a beer, because itll ease him up after beating this bitch of a boy to even think that he had even done it.

you had been wrong, you thought he had grown up. that feeling of when you are shaking because you dont know what youll find, and when you find exactly what you hope not to, your heart sinks. you feel clammy, you feel so sick, trust and honor being so broken because you had such high hopes for him. and hakari had caught on, knowing that look. hakari rushed over, snatching his phone and gawking at it, face scrunched up and dumbfounded.

duck is such an expressive puppet and i love him SO much!! the amount of effort put into his puppetry completely blows me away!! yellow guy and red guy are very dangly, and dont get me wrong thats very in-character, but its so cool to me that duck is hardly ever still. i think its also funny that even tho hes a puppet he has more emotion and drama in his movements compared to red guy who is LITERALLY a whole human person. i think that says a lot about both of them personality wise. its silly to me but its also genuinely interesting. i love how his hands are almost always on his hips, even when hes sitting still. when hes talking his hands are always swinging around dramatically. he does all sorts of sassy little shakes and turns, hes just so expressive!! in one of my favorite behind the scenes pictures his little legs are crossed. i just think its neat how much extra effort they put in to show off ducks sass. and like i said, this isnt at all meant to overshadow yellow guys puppeteers or red guys actors at all, because theres lots of love and effort put into ALL aspects of the show, im just saying that duck especially has a lot of pizazz

and also baker terry does the best job ever at voicing him btw. i mean absolutely no offense when i say this, its a good thing even, but his voice has catastrophic levels of annoying fruity energy. like “hey guyssss 😍💖💅‼️” its so perfect it fits him so well

i think this is why its hard for me to see duck humanized. like with red guy and yellow its pretty easy to imagine them as people but when i think of duck i think of that damn puppet. i think of the three foot ankle biting little shit bird. i can hardly see him as a human person its just so hard. theyve put so much effort into bringing that puppet to life it feels almost wrong to imagine him as human. i love everyones human designs for him, and i have my own ideas of red and yellow guy but for him i just always hit a wall in my head. duck is perfect as he is to me i guess

my one whole post contributing to the fgo attractive male discourse is that the actual appeal comes less from basic ideas of what makes someone attractive and rather the actual use of aesthetic and presentation using said characters traits. its not enough to have convenionally attractive traits but rather the characters traits combined with the aesthetic that theyre trying to achieve.

take limbo for example. limbo shows some tit and is buff sure but most of his appeal actually comes from his characterization and presentation with his buffed out look complementing those traits. the best examples of this are actually in his final ascension and his cbc ce

so itd be easy to just say that limbo flaunting what hes got is what makes him sexy here, but its actually the opposite: its what he isnt showing you. limbo isnt showing any more skin than he usually is in his regular ascensions (just his upper body and knee), but the framing and the implications of him naked and staring down at you, the licking of his lips and the juxtaposition between him standing out from the rest of the bleak colors and skeletons, especially with his contorted look are what actually make it sensual and sexy because your focus is immediately drawn to him and the implications. then in his cbc it goes the entire opposite direction, putting him in a rather standard outfit that isnt really all that different from just sticking a male servant in a suit HOWEVER the use of the clothes to show creases and movement in the actual ce lets you actually feel how much weight and muscle limbo is throwing around here. his final ascension uses everything but limbos bare physical body to make him look sexy, but in his cbc where hes fully clothed its his body shape and the use of the clothing to convey that where it makes him sexy.

now compare this to kintoki

yes laughing at raita is hip these days whatever but the genuine appeal with kintoki doesnt come fully from his buff body but instead the aesthetic surrounding it. in his final ascension hes full on manspreading sure but the most appealing thing here is his face, the way hes pulling his hair back and looking at you. its a confident and calm look, hes appealing here because of the aesthetic of him being in a club and the shirtless full on muscle bod actually enhances that because it makes him look powerful. the same thing happens in his costume as well: hes in battle, covered in blood and wounds, a storm of sakura petals surrounding him as he stands imposing, its a look that radiates cool factor in spades and the hyper muscle design actually looks more attractive because of it. again, a design that has conventional attractive features used to enhance an aesthetic and then in reverse. say what you will about raitas anatomy but his design philosophy is well thought out and his style does fit with these characters because kintoki himself (along with many other of his characters) is a half oni half god monster, and despite looking fully human the actual raita style adds that extra flavor that makes him feel inhuman.

now lets rock the boat a little bit

obviously people like to meme on hajime enjoyers because he isnt bishe/conventionally attractive, but this is the one exception that proves the rule where a suit/basic look actually compliments the character. hajime looks like a scruffy overworked goblin whose lived off cigarette butts and beer for the past year, and it works because its actually part of his character that hes always tired. obviously hajime has so much more character to him that actually makes him more attractive but ill be bold and fully say the same appeal for hajime is the exact same appeal that izo has

izo in all his ascensions is a full on messy unwashed murderous hobo who is consistently one of the most popular male characters as well as one of if not the most popular 3* around and its fully because of his hobo look and personality. hes one of the only servants where a suit look actually works because he looks out of place in it, izo here looks so damn proud of himself like hes made his first paycheck and is about to lose all of it on gambling, and much like hajime the appeal comes from the factors surrounding him.

now lets look at siegfried and talk about most cbc designs

this is where a suit ultimately fails, because its taking a basic presentable 'attractive' look and putting it on a character who was already attractive where it doesnt enhance his look whatsoever. sure siegfried has his tits out but siegfried always has his tits out, however there isnt the appeal that limbo has with a full on outfit because its entirely uncreative. they just stuck him in a suit, gave him glasses and called it a day. his suit could have so easily been improved too by making it backless to conform with his legend, but it doesnt even have that and just feels lazy overall. this costume fails because it rides entirely on siegfriend looking good to make the outfit look good, so the outfit is functionally worthless in making him look attractive, because siegfried is already attractive. and the same trend follows with many of the cbc ces, theyre just uncreative.

these are all incredibly homogeneous: they always have a ce where the round table is just hanging out, a ce where gil and ozy and maybe sometimes iskander or qsh are just stuck together on basic premise, a ce with the kids, some type of office setting, a male idol, maybe a bakery sometimes, so many cbcs fail because of simple uncreativity in using their characters and giving them a costume to enhance the character, so instead its the character that enhances the costume, and most times, this is done by just sticking them in a suit and calling it a day.

so yeah fgo men are fine and well and attractive, the devs are just so unsure of how to make them look attractive with costumes.

design/toy info: - she's got articulation points at her shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles. i know that doesnt make sense for the time but idc i do what i want. - i know barbies are designed to be ok in water but i imagine because shes meant to be a diver shes like MEANT to be played with in the bath...idk enough about dolls to know if there would be any differences in her design maybe her clothing items are more waterproof or something - her hair is a mix of doll hair, fabric ribbons and plastic bits! gives her a sort of mermaid vibe! - all ocean explorer lyras come with her best friend and exploring buddy marina the orca! marina is like a squeaky bath toy thing, you can fill her with water and squeeze and itll spray out of her blowhole :-) - the bag on marina's back includes her scuba diving gear, as in the box lyra just has her full wetsuit on! (2nd outfit in the pic above) there are also clothing sets available with a diving dress (those old diving suits) and an on-land version! - has a lil scar on her face from a previous owner! ok in the actual story: i cant really decide whether i would have her be gifted to molly (andys sister) or bonnie, but i think the idea of toys being given to a child a bit too old or young for them is really cool! so i want that to happen. so she's obviously meant to be for kids older than bonnie/molly so i want her to be bought from an old secondhand store and given as a gift from an aunt or other family member. she's had multiple owners already, she knows how it goes, she's just excited to inspire another kid to love the ocean and exploration and adventure! and shes like YEAH HI NICE TO MEET YOU I LOVE THE OCEAN IM SO READY TO LEARN ABOUTTHE OCEAN WITH THIS KID and it turns out that bonnie/molly isnt ready yet! or like knows about the ocean but is going too slow. and she has to come to terms with the fact that not every kid is going to do the same things or go at her pace :-3 and i think buzz helps with that ehehehe. obv no buzzjessie (I LOVE YOU BUZZJESSIE NO HATETO BUZZJESSIE SO REAL) but i think lyra is like "ummmmmmso i know/i heard that you and buzz had like.... um a thing...." and jessie just SLAPS her back and goes "THATS OLD NEWS GO GET EM TIGER SHARK"

well, boy, im so glad you asked!

before we get there - hello, the person who has been obsessed with the visual novel in question for almost a year speaking. for any poll you see an entropic float character in, i am always one of the people to have submitted them, and i am the person who has been writing most of the propaganda for them (qpr-competition is also me, btw, any "i wrote that massive essay" over there come from me as well). my obsession is in part fueled by the fact that almost nobody knows it, but ive been working on that

with that out of the way...

Entropic Float: This World Will Decay And Disappear is a visual novel that features a cast of 14 characters in an Anomalous Clocktower. the anomaly is of the timeloop type - every 24 hours, as the clock strikes midnight, time rewinds, and you might or might not be able to remember the events of the past loops.

ive said this before and ill say it again - i consider the selling point of the game to be the characters, which is great, because at its core its about getting to know and love them - the phrase "mortifying ordeal of being known" is used verbatim in the route leading up to the true ending.

for example, Peri and Abel, both featured in this poll, are canonically aroace. they have been joined at the hip since they were kids, although that wasnt quite for the right reasons - Peri was being raised as a bodyguard for Abel and his older brother. at the core of their shared character arc is the struggle against amatonormativity - people assuming that, since theyre a boy and a girl and are best friends, they must fall in love with each other eventually, and are just too young right now; that they should give it time, and it will happen. the pressure is worrying for both of them, and Abel in particular has gone on puberty blockers; "these people must be right, but i dont want to become someone who falls in love, so i will stave off my growing up".

Jasper Jasmine "Jazz" Jekyll, who has been voted out in the preliminaries, is grey-aromantic and pansexual. however, the more present in the narrative part of her character is that she is a trans woman, and that she considers her gender to have changed rather than having always been there; "i was fine being a boy until i wasnt". she is working towards her masters in social studies, and has used her falling into the anomaly as data for her thesis.

as i have said, there is a total of 14 characters in the main cast; ive told you about three, as they are fitting for the theme of the bracket, but all of them are queer of various flavours, and written in a very alive way - from Shinji who im pretty sure is only stated to be bisexual in his profile and nowhere in the rest of the text, to Kanatsun who brings up questioning his sexuality in his memories and is still written down as questioning, to Loam whose gender identity isnt respected because of their disability, to JJ who throughout the anomaly gains the courage to come out as trans to his adoptive mom... theres a lot of different ones! fourteen of them!

AUGAGHGHAGAGGAGA MY AWESOME LITTLE DS FURRY GAME THAT FLOPPED SO BAD IT ONLY SOLD 100k COPIES WORLDWIDE, hes so sooooo silly solatorobo is honestly an awesome game with a great soundtrack painted backgrounds in towns cool setting and awesome character designs it pushed the ds graphics to its limits tbh and red savarin is my funny little guy, i think he has a little bit of transgender swag. i dont wanna spoil anything but honestly his backstory on paper is kind of funny because its like something i would write at 13 but it works and is great. hes a funny little shiba with a stupid gun sword i hate drawing thats only like useful in game like 4 times at most lol and an awesome robot mech. unfortunately hes french tho rip

SO IM NOT A CORSET EXPERT BUT I AM A CORSET ENTHUSEIST AND HAVE A FEW OF MY OWN

how corsets work is they shove the flesh and any fat in one of two places depending on the style of the corset more dramatic corsets will tend to distribute fat pretty evenly in the hips and bust but things like work corsets tend to just flatten out silloutes with tended to push fat UP (to the chest) instead to the back or sides because their isnt much room for it to go otherwise

because of that it would make older azul look like he has a bigger chest

theirs just a ramble if u wanna incorperate it or not im just a big fan of corsets and though u might find it cool

JOKES ASIDE thanks for this info!! I am very tiny and have never used a corset so I am very underqualified for drawing corsets. I'd be more than happy to hear your thoughts, though! I have always liked the aesthetic and would love to incorporate them more onto my character designs :^)

I dont have an uhh actual name for the oc (yet), ill try to think about one soon. Anyways

He's (obv referring to my damn skippy oc) energetic and constantly moving around the place. Damn skippy oc try to sit still in one place (failed INSTANTLY).

+ "Naturally curious (Good example for this idea would be the song "rainwater") and lives in their daydreams" kinda person. (When robots attack) (ik theres the line 'how i wish this was just a dream' in when robots attack, but I imagine the scenario wasnt a "daydream" he has and moreso of an actual dream that feels real.)

[going back to the last part, I imagine the entire damn skippy album is just the oc going on these silly tangents abt their life + daydreams (maybe minus "ode to crayola", as I already have a diff oc for that song alone)]

Pronouns - He/they (Was originally gonna go with he/him but i like the concept of "he/they DS oc better)

Physical features !!!

DS has these swirls in their eyes, like the back of the album cover. Confession - Every now and then i think the pinkish color makes him look high but then i add the blue and im like "nuh uh" HWKAN 😭

They also have these star pupils, I added the idea when i first designed the oc back in jan-feb time period. Btw these features arent like contact lenses those are his actual eyes :3 I imagine my DS oc to be like... 80% human and the 20% is uhhh I dont know that answer

Along with this, theres like this ink or whatever that seeps from his eyes. Theyre not tears or anything, no matter what they do to remove the ink it just comes back eventually, but the ink only gets down to a certain point to where it just stops flowing.

small features !!! he wears a lot of stickers on their face, mainly because the stickers are really cool

LOTS of kandi bracelets/wrist bands/spiked bracelets. There probably was a time where he was a scene kid, and they still take inspiration from that 2000s/2010s scene time period.

[side note!!! this doesnt relate with my oc 100% but

on the topic of the kandi bracelets part, DS makes a lot of kandi bracelets for HTTJB (another oc based on a LD album) (The hip to the javabean oc isnt my oc, its @shrimpmcbites 's). Occasionally DS will just give HTTJB a new kandi bracelet for no apparent reason. ]

LOTS OF COLOR !!!!!!!! DS constantly wears so many things dealing with color and bright things, like as if those saturated bright colorful photos were a person.

DS IS TRANS!!!!!! trans ftm to be specific. fuck making all my characters different.... i WILL project on every one of them

(on a specific note, DS hasnt gotten any sort of medical transition like HRT or top/bottom surgery)

Projecting on my oc once more !!!! but fuck i dont care - DS is aroace and queerplatonic !!!! + DS is also in a qpr W/HTTJB because me and @shrimpmcbites said so muahaha (we are both projecting...)

(Geeks is love is abt them !!!!! the line "I don't think they'll ever get the groovy standards that we set for love" fits oh so perfectly with the fact the DS and HTTJB oc's are in a qpr)

Okay now for a bit of silly facts

Favorite drink - Tea !!! of any kind !!!! or maybe koolaid or the type of water drinks where you pour the syrup of a flavor in water and you get juice if yk what im talking abt

Favorite food - I imagine DS to really like smores. especially the ones with too much extra stuff and too many marshmellows and chocolate

Favorite type of music - anything DS can dance to. or just move around to. He doesn't really like sad songs.

Favorite color -Probably all of them but mainly the really saturated BRIGHT colors

Hobbies -

Dancing (not really good at it, + is not a professional, they just do it bc he NEEDS a way to channel all of the internal energy they have.),

Reading (only comic/graphic novels, anything else and he just loses attention)

KANDI - They has SO. MANY. KANDI. STUFF. AT HOME. probably even a few pieces of kandi clothing because of all of the extra time they have on his hands.

Video games - Esp those really retro ones, but he'll play almost any video game that goes in their hands

dont ask me where this came from, i blacked out and then opened my eyes again and we were here. once again this is an exercise in not overthinking what i post because ISNT that the whole purpose of this ficlet collection?

anyway. something happy & ... a little spicy (i said i blacked out ok) to make up for the last chapter's angst.

She loses her cool when he lifts her up onto the bathroom counter.

Everything leading up to it has been designed to make her lose her cool — the morning, just enough time to feel his eyes on her ass halfway through the food truck’s breakfast rush; the lazy afternoon with its rocketing temperatures and swampy feel and the distance put between them with Sarah in the garden and him in the kitchen running through college options with Cass; her plain and sticky hormonal itch coming after her in the heat and being neglected thoroughly but noticed, definitely; and then just before dinnertime she’d dragged herself knees first onto the laundry room shelf to get her spare baking soda and gotten stuck. Bucky had appeared in the door and said Sarah, you need help coming down and for whatever reason she insisted no. No, it’s too high, it won’t work, you’ll throw out your back.

Baby, he’d said with amusement, leaning against the doorjamb, arms crossed loosely over his chest like they didn’t have the ability to stop armoured cars at full speed or whatever. Which she’d remembered again. Still perched on her shelf. Not without a touch of embarrassment.

So now it’s the reverse of that and all the feelings of the day bubble up with it. When he lowered her from the stupid shelf it was this effortless weightless drop to the floor that she barely felt. This time there’s heft to it even though it’s the same kind of zero exertion movement; she feels the sudden squeeze of his hands at her waist, the minute swing up and down below her navel before she lands on the counter, the slight tug just forward so her hips and butt scoot over to the very edge, closer to him.
