Pairing: Viktor x Reader Rating: G Warnings: None Summary: You and Viktor move in together, and he learns that cats are weird little guys.
When you’d first started dating, most of your dates with Viktor had consisted of hanging out in the lab. It wasn’t a comfort-level kind of thing: the two of you worked together and generally had a lot to do in the day. There simply wasn’t enough time - or a guaranteed schedule - to pick a day to go out on.
It wasn’t something that bothered you. Neither you nor your boyfriend were particularly extravagant in nature, though you did occasionally splurge on gifts. In your opinion, if both of you were happy with the arrangement you’d made, then whose business was it that your relationship didn’t ‘look normal’?
As such, it had taken a good couple of months to venture into each other’s homes. You often found yourself crashing for a night in his dorm room, especially when you had a slew of early mornings at the lab planned, but you never stayed longer than a single evening.
He’d asked you about it once, and if you’d consider staying with him longer, or more permanently, but you’d declined.
“The Academy doesn’t allow pets,” you’d explained to him sadly, “and I can’t just leave Pip behind, or find a new home for her. I love her too much, and it wouldn’t be fair to her.”
Despite his disappointment about keeping your living arrangements separate, Viktor still felt his heart swell in the wake of your kindness.
He did eventually visit your home across town, on one of your mutual days off. You’d enticed him over with the promise of a home-cooked lunch; something he - on other occasions - had proven to be enthusiastic about. The little bit of food he’d tasted from you, had always been warm and hearty, and infused with flavour. An entire meal from you was an offer he couldn’t pass up.
Even when he ended up having to share little bites of stew with your ever-persistent cat, it was still one of his most pleasant afternoons in recent memory.
Over time you fell into a routine, meeting up at your place on weekends for lunch, staying over at his place once or twice during the week, and working together during the days. It was comforting and predictable, and neither of you had any qualms about it. Mostly.
Pip had very quickly gotten used to your boyfriend’s presence in your home, and had taken a liking to curling up on his lap. Viktor assured you that it was just because he gave her food from the table, but you shook your head with a smile. “Face it, sweetheart,” you’d said, “Animals like you.” And leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek.
Your life went on like this for close to a year, until you’d one morning burst into the lab a total mess. You’d had two suitcases with you, stuffed so full they looked like they were about to explode, and a small handheld cat carrier, overflowing with fluffy black and white fur. You yourself had been covered in tears and snowflakes, and possibly a little bit of snot, and you felt gross.
Viktor had ignored all that, and had set his work down to come to your side in an instant.
“I got evicted,” you’d sobbed, as your boyfriend took you in his arms to hold you close. “The building got sold, and the whole apartment complex got kicked out this morning. Something- something about- I don’t know, we only had a couple of hours to pack up, and- and everything else was forfeit-”
You break into tears again, and hide your face in Viktor’s sweater. “I don’t have anywhere to go, Vik. There aren’t many places that allow pets, and I can’t afford any of them on my salary- I can’t give Pip up…”
The choice had been clear to him, though he knew you’d never ask such a thing of him. “We’ll find a place,” he’d promised you, without hesitation. “There’s a complex not far that allows smaller animals in the building. The walk would be slightly longer than what I’m used to, but eh…it would be nice to sleep next to you every night, and have breakfast together in the mornings.”
You’d stared at him with wide, teary eyes for a couple seconds, breaking down for a third time as you accepted his offer.
From then on, you found that your daily routine was less bothered than you expected - you still went to work every morning, still ate questionable cafeteria food for lunch, still tiredly wandered home in the evening. The only difference was that you now weren’t alone when you were home, and almost always had a warm body to curl up next to when it was time for bed.
It was a beneficial lifestyle for both yourself and Viktor, but the real winner - in your opinion - was Pip. She now had two laps to sleep on, two pairs of shoelaces to chase every morning as you were headed to work, two noses to bite in the middle of the night, and twice as many clothes to get her fur all over.
She’d even managed to scare Viktor real good during the first couple days you’d been together. She was an old cat with a big personality, and not nearly as much energy as she’d had in her youth. But from time to time you still got to see her tearing from room to room like a bat out of hell, acting like she was being chased by demons.
You’d been quietly studying, when Viktor’s confused shout for you had reached your ears. Thinking he’d possibly cut one of his fingers again while working, you’d rushed into the other room.
Only to find your boyfriend trying to corral Pip into his arms.
Pip, who was fluffed up to twice her size, staring at you with wild bug-eyes that could probably see ghosts.
Your laughter draws Viktor’s attention away from the bizarre feline, though his posture relaxes when he sees how unbothered you are by the sight.
“She does that sometimes,” you explain to him, gesturing him away from her to give her some space. “She doesn’t get like this as often as when she was a kitten, but ah…every now again, she finds the will. Watch, she’s gonna take off in a second, and- there she goes.”
The pair of you watch as your cat tears into the hallway, as if she’s running for her life, and wince as her hectic galloping echoes through your home.
Viktor looks at you, perplexed. “What is wrong with her?” he wonders, and you shrug.
“I call it the zoomies. Sometimes pets are just…weird little dudes. Y’know?”
Viktor doesn’t know, but twelve minutes later when Pip comes to a grinding halt at his feet and promptly curls up to fall asleep, he believes he’s starting to.

Episode 19: Clash of the Delivery Girls! The Martial Arts Takeout Race
Tumblr media
It has been a heck of a week for me, how about all of you? But now it’s time to sit down and watch some Ranma 1/2, and this time we’re digging into season two, known here in the US as “Anything-Goes Martial Arts”. I actually do think I remember this episode, at least a little bit, though whether I liked it or not has been lost to my decaying neurons. Time to form a new opinion then, see you next paragraph!
Tumblr media
I’ll be honest, that turned out better than expected. But before I get into that kind of stuff, let me talk about what happens in the episode. Sadly, starting with Season 2, they’ve added a little recap thing to the beginning of every episode. It’s the same animation and voice acting every time, just meant to catch up the viewer on the premise of the show. I hated it when I was younger, and I hate it more now. I have a hard time articulating why, it just rubs me the wrong way.
From there, the actual episode begins with a flashback to when Ranma was a baby, and his father carried him on his back in a martial arts pilgrimage. That turned out to be a bad idea, because at one point Genma was starving in an inhospitable wilderness. He did run into someone with food, and that someone also had a daughter around Ranma’s age. This man only agreed to share food with Genma in exchange for taking Ranma, so he’d have an heir to his school of martial arts. With pretty much no hesitation, Genma agreed, but later stole Ranma back when the man wasn’t looking.
It cuts to the present from there, where Ranma and his father are fighting over some pickles. This is interrupted when the man from the opening, Mr. Daikoku, shows up in a fancy car with his now teenage daughter, who is in a ceremonial bride’s dress. He hasn’t forgotten about the promise Genma made, and is ready to take Ranma to marry his daughter Kaori.
But Soun Tendo isn’t about to just let that happen, since Ranma is supposed to marry Akane. During the conversation there is a lot of bickering between all of them, much of it from Akane and Ranma about them even really being engaged, but Kaori can tell that Akane actually likes Ranma more than she says, and so challenges her to a contest for Ranma’s hand. There’s a Martial Arts Takeout Race going on soon, and the winner of that gets one year’s worth of ramen.
Even more than making sure Ranma and Akane get married, the chance to get all that free food nudges Soun and Genma into accepting the deal. It quickly turns out that may have been a bad idea, since Kaori removes the robe to reveal she is a powerful martial artist, specifically a master of Martial Arts Delivery.
It’s a chaotic race from there, but the long and short of it is that Kaori pulls out a bunch of secret techniques to try and win, including one that numbs Akane’s leg and another that strangles her neck with noodles until she forfeits. At that point, Ranma is seriously considering jumping into the fray to help, even though he’d sworn not to use his curse to enter the race. A nudge from his dad forces Ranma into water though, and from there Ranma and Akane work together to help her win. The Daikoku’s accept the defeat, the family has a bunch of ramen, and all’s well that ends well...at least until another man shows up claiming that Ranma is supposed to marry his daughter. Wap wap.
So, there wasn’t a ton of plot to speak of, but on the whole I quite liked this episode. First of all, it had a wacky energy to it unlike anything in the first season. The Martial Arts Gymnastic competition was the only thing that came close, but this episode from beginning to end moved at a quick pace, with lots of jokes, smooth(er than usual) animation, and a whole new over-the-top martial arts school. Not everything about it worked for me, some of the jokes felt like duds, but then there’s the Ramen Round-Up Noodle Noose, Akane skateboarding, and the fact that Genma sold Ranma for a single meal.
I am kind of sad I literally just did a Character Spotlight on Genma last episode, I should have waited. This is perhaps the first time we’ve really gotten a chance to see just how awful a father Genma can be. I love everyone’s reactions to the news of the trade as well, and Genma doesn’t even really have a defense for it. The interplay between him, Soun, and Mr. Daikoku was also just enjoyable.
Kaori Daikoku herself is also something interesting. Anime-only or not, she’s the first rival for Akane who was also bequeathed to Ranma by his father in the past, though she won’t be the last. Once she was in the fight, Kaori actually worked pretty well, for a single-episode character. I actually like her character design, and as silly as all her food attacks are, she uses them with a kind of ferocious glee that gives her a unique aura, even if she’s still not a particularly deep character.
It’s me, so I also have to comment on how much I liked the Ranma/Akane stuff in this episode, whether it was Kaori noticing that Akane doth protest too much, that Akane was actually arguing for marrying Ranma at one point in the big kerfuffle, or the ending tête-à-tête between them (though the shipping fodder there was a dub only line). Something about the teamwork they used to win at the end was adorable too.
As for my negatives, the big one is that, well, in any scene with a big crowd (and there were a few), the random people looked really bad. Or rather, they didn’t match the art style for the rest of the characters in this show, they felt like they were from a different show entirely. Another small one is that there was no opening theme, and that sucks because I was looking forward to covering it, but I’ll have to wait for it to actually be used in an episode. Other than that, my only other minor issues were the aforementioned jokes that didn’t land for me.
Tumblr media
If it wasn’t obvious before, I am vibing with this episode. Not completely, but i was very unsure going in if I’d like it at all. It captured a kind of energy that I hadn’t realized I was missing, and was generally interesting enough that I’ll put it at #6 on my rankings, just above the second part of the Dr. Tofu mini-arc, and right behind the second episode, where Kuno was introduced.

Episode 14: Pelvic Fortune-Telling? Ranma is the No. One Bride in Japan

We only had a break from her for two episodes, but next week is the start of a new arc that unveils the return of the amazon Shampoo, with “You Really Do Hate Cats!” What does that have to do with Shampoo? Well, you’ll just have to see next week, won’t you? Tschuss!

Shackled Babe Masterlist
Loki Laufeyson x Plus Size Reader
Warnings: Odin being a son of a bitch. Nothing bad yet
Summary: Here meet a new ally as well as find out what both Loki and Thor thinks of the arrangement.
A/N: This one is short but it is to shed light on events that will make sense later own.
Words: +1,900
It was quiet in the king and queens quarters despite the fact the princess was only a day old. The sun rising on the tired queen who laid in bed with the princess at her side, having fallen asleep while feeding the baby, the maid trying to help right the queen as the king entered.
Lyall had been gone since he laid the queen in bed the moment Odin left, not a word spoken as he rushed out with their sons on his heels. A few moments later, the sound of a hunting party leaving the courtyard had the queen worried Lyall had finally lost his calm. When it came to Odin it had been hard to keep calm, Astrid having laid awake all night only to fall asleep in exhaustion.
“Your king has returned my queen,” the maid  spoke softly, helping the tired Norn sit. The maid holding the little princess in her arms as the queen woke. The distraught queen crying for the child to be given to her as gaze fell on her husband who she reached out to as well.
The king took a seat as she pulled him to the mattress, falling into the man as she tried to hold back the sobs, clinging to the sleeping newborn. The scent of the man’s leathers making the queen realize where he had gone in the night. He smelled slightly of sulfur, burnt hide, scorched earth and dank caverns. Pushing away to look up into his eyes to realize he was holding a moving bundle in his coat that made a faint chirping noise.
“We need to hurry. Lay her in the bassinet,” the king informed the queen, the maid quick to respond to lay the basket next to Astrid. With tear filled eyes the queen laid the little creature in the basket as the king removed a dragon scale bag from his coat that jumped in his hands, the bag letting out another chirping growl.
Without waiting, the king laid the bag in the bassinet and allowed it to open itself. The tiny creature inside scurrying out and under the princesses little gown. It nestled in her side, ruffling the linen to make itself comfortable and letting out contented chirps and squeaks.
“Husband! What have you found? It will hurt her,” the queen worried, reaching into the basket to jerk the scaly tale that slid out from the linen, but it chittered at her from its hiding place. The little bronze colored winged lizard scurrying out to lay on the little babes chest, making noise that was to be a loud, vicious growl, but sounded like a mouse. After its vicious attempt, it turned to nuzzle it's buttery soft muzzle under the princesses soft chin before curling lightly on her chest, falling asleep.
“He just imprinted on our princess and will protect her till his last breath,” the king smiled as the brownish green dragon unfolded new, soft leather wings over the little babe as if the small expanses of leather would protect the princess.
“He fits in the palm of my hand husband. How will he protect her,” Astrid began, daring to reach a finger out to stroke along the little creatures back and swearing it purred.
“He will grow with her. And before you ask, I retrieved him from a mercenary that was selling him after having killed his mother. He was to be sold for a spell that would have killed him. I made sure he seen no one the entire ride back so he would imprint on her. He should get no bigger than a 18 hand draft and supposedly will be very intelligent,” he explained to his wife as they watched the princess and tiny ‘lizard’ closely.
“What of Odin. Of the contract,” Astrid began, not able to stop herself from lifting the babe out of the basket to hold her close, the little dragon staying curled with the princess.
“Let me worry about that pompous bastard,” Lyall spoke quietly, pulling the queen, the princess and the dragon close to hold them in attempts to quiet his own fears.
Asgard
Frigga looked over the newest contract Odin had brought back from Alfheim, still not understanding why he had to go to the realm. The All-father being vague on his rush to leave, scanning the document close but never getting a glimpse of the names on the bottom before it was pulled from her fingers as their sons entered.
“The queen had a daughter,” Frigga spoke happily, noting how Odin hurried her to sign the contract but she hesitated, not sure what she was signing and wondering why he was rushing through it.
“She did. This is a contract for the princess Y/N to marry one of our sons when she is of age. It was what Lyall negotiated,” Odin explained hastily, Thor and Loki both looking at each other. The brothers not fully understanding what the big deal was, especially if the child was just born.
“You are going to marry one of us to… to a child,” Loki spoke up as they stopped at the table that Odin and Frigga sat at, looking at the two perplexed to why it seemed so tense in the room.
“The princess will be of age when she is married to one of you two but will be brought to Asgard to be raised once she reaches 5 years of age. This is so she knows our customs and what is expected of her in our court,” Odin began his explanation before the queen chimed in.
“How does Astrid feel about the arrangement?”
“She signed did she not,” Odin snipped to Frigga who eyed him close, knowing that it would take death before she would give up one of her sons to go live on another realm with no chance to visit since Lyall and Astrid had been banished from Asgard. The royals only allowed in the realm when treaties demanded it.
“I don’t understand why this takes a contract it…,” Thor this time, it even seemed off to him. He was the first to never argue with his father, but the oddness and rushed state made him uneasy.
“Let us sign this and be done! No more questions. This was agreed upon by all parties and signed,” Odin snarled at the three, all of them uneasy about it but nodding in agreement. As always Thor the first to step forward and do as commanded.
Though Loki was sure to step up and look over his brothers shoulder to read the runes quickly. The words indebted, bound to the realm, bound to her husband, bound to the four of them, standing out as Odin was quick to lay another parchment over it so he couldn’t read anymore. A quill hastily passed to Loki and reluctantly he signed, followed by his mother.
“Now, with that behind us, tell me, my sons, where have you been fighting,” the king began as if it was an everyday matter.
It ate at Loki, the thoughts of a woman, no, this was a child, married to them was very unsettling. Eating at him as he listened to Thor give his account of the excursion to Vannaheim, and who, and what they fought along with Thor’s great accomplishment. Tight lipped, the youngest prince looked at his mother who nodded for him to keep it quiet, but it didn’t go unnoticed she cared little for the treaty, as it was now called. A quick glance to Thor had Loki noting that even though he hid it, the signing weighed on him as well.
It truly made Thor forget key events of the fight, ones that he knew his father wanted to hear, but the thoughts of a child bride weighed on him. One so young, even if she was of age at marriage, the fact that it was as if she was livestock to be traded between the realms to keep peace was nagging at his mind. The oldest son stumbling on his words, notably when asked a question. The words he seen on the page, bound to Asgard, bound to them, it was unnerving and made no sense, even if all parties were in agreement. Thor may have been brawn, but he did have a brain about him as he looked to Loki to begin his account.
Needless to say, for once Loki was at a loss, having not heard a word and vowing to speak with Thor about the matter later when they were alone. Loki wanted to get his take on the contract they just signed, the opportunity presenting itself on the way to last meal. The quiet golden halls that possibly wouldn’t be that way long when a 5-year-old child would be running through them.
“What did you read on that contract,” Thor began as he stepped to the side with Loki close behind, both standing in the dark shadow of one of the many columns, bright blue meeting emerald green orbs for an instant before looking out across the grounds.
“The same as you I'm afraid, nothing,” Loki began, leaning on the railing, trying to busy himself with the look of their mothers garden.
“Damn it brother. You may lie to me and get away with it, but even I know that was a lie. You read exceedingly fast, you where distracted in our recount of Vannaheim. You seen it, the child is bound to us and this realm when she sets foot on Asgard in less than 5 years,” Thor began, Loki turning from the garden. OK he would give the oaf that, maybe he was becoming more receptive the older he became.
“She is already bond to us as a day-old infant. If she doesn’t come to Asgard in 5 years, then her entire family, realm is forfeit. Regardless of the treaty, this isn’t right,” Loki finally voiced as he watched Thor close, knowing how his brother can be defensive of any and all of their fathers shitty treaties. Ones filled with loop holes that benefit Asgard and damns the other.
“They should be a way around it. Some way to free her from it. Maybe when she comes here, we can find a way to lift the treaty. I know I agree with a lot of the treaties but Loki, this feels wrong,” Thor admitted to the raven-haired god that stood deep in thought.
“I can’t believe you are going against father. Isn’t that usually my place? To go against the old man? Make him hate me more so you are in the spot light,” Loki spoke up, an edge to his voice, hurt crossing Thor’ face for an instant before he decided to speak.
“Father doesn’t hate you Loki. This isn’t an argument about us right now, we are getting off track. What about the princess? We need to do all we can to keep this from happening,” Thor spoke trying to distract Loki.
“He does, but I agree, we need to work on this and by we, I mean me. I will see what I can find out about the king and queen of Alfheim. That way we can better understand what is going on. I would hate for you to be married to a child, that would mean twice the headache for me,” Loki snipped before heading off down the corridor opposite the dining hall.
“What are you saying,” Thor hollered after his brother who continued on his way.
“What does it sound like I'm saying brother,” Loki shouted back before disappearing around the corner.

5 RESTAURANTS FROM 'KITCHEN NIGHTMARES' THAT HAVE GONE DOWNHILL
Its doors opened plus it absolutely had been this town's toast. The spot also did many as 300 addresses and had been filled. There is energy at the area and everyone made money.
Fast forward forty decades, and also the restaurant is currently neglecting. The area reeks of sewage. Even the décor is dilapidated and obsolete. Your cooking area is dirty. The foodstuff is composed made of grade that is high heeled.
Section of that which led for the is that their owner -- Peter's father's departure. Peter had been a wimp who'd little leadership and people abilities Whilst he had been authoritative and hands-on. His chef, Doug brushed off him since he was seen by him a joke.
Through the entire series, Gordon and Irene (Peter's mother ) ended up attempting to inspire Peter to person upward. Gordon had a session together with him to invite him become even assertive and also to require hands. Gordon strove to provide a pep-talk to invite him to fulfill the anticipations of his father to Peter.
Matters did actually appear to your restaurant around nighttime. The spot had been revived back into its own appearance. Has been attracted back from Marilyn--a waitress who functioned as one in the cafe. Was terminated.
The confidence had been still also fraught. The cafe has been sold following the series and returned straight back into the old methods had been listed. It said at the episode's finish.
It's a narrative for a single production also for it to be lost by some other and to assemble riches. That's the narrative of Seascape.
That the restaurant was built by peter's daddy . He needed a powerful character and managed enough to stunt that the Seascape to turned into among the best restaurants at Long Island.
Sadlyhe was unable to enhance his abilities and fire in his or her son.
Peter wasn't ready to extend the direction which the cafe wanted and had been weak-willed. His chef turned out out of hands, and team morale was minimal, also there wasn't any buzz to its cafe. When you take a take a close have a look in the family members like the Waltons, '' the Johnsons, and also the Mars, then you visit families which could actually continue to keep their own riches throughout the generations since the creators had the ability to productively mentor their achievement generations.
Peter was unable to obtain techniques and the wisdom of their daddy. This resulted in the downfall of the restaurant.
Campania
Joseph"Joe" Cerniglia shot within the Campania cafe as it was a victory. Following 18 weeks of the stewardship, the cafe had
been to the verge of insolvency. That has been much wrong together with all his or her restaurant. The area hurried . Budget and the meals portions were all outside of handle. Services was un professional and slow.
At which they adopted a recipe and also excellent control at kitchen, gordon made a decision to place standards up such as its restaurant. In addition, he guaranteed the team provided customerservice which has been productive and quick. Near the close of the team, Gordon along with the incident shattered plates to signify the start of the brand fresh chapter in Campania and the conclusion of the foodstuff wastage.
Gordon came back per calendar year and Campania did actually be doing. Your kitchen has been tidy and also firm do .
September of 2010 indicated the ending of the entire own life of Joe span. He committed suicide. It had been supposed he experienced a partnership with his own waitress Jessica he had financial and marital issues. He's survived by his spouse and a few kids.
The cafe has been shut.
Peter's
Peter's was clearly one of those restaurants at the village of Babylon. This had been a Italian restaurant. But brother Peter wasn't pulling his burden reduction. He embezzled dollars and also treating the cafe. He had been concerned with behaving as a refuse from Goodfellas than really tethered to this organization.
Rather than placing the amount of money straight back Peter set the cash. He'd a vehicle, custommade bleached tooth, fits, and also atan. He came with Gordon at a mercedes-benz on some interview area and behaved just as though he had been Batman from the Batmobile. The spot wanted also a fresh freezer and also kitchen tools.
The server, angelo, remembered a period restaurant failed better and has been kept in higher esteem in which. Actually Peter himself might remember a period as soon as the area was more busy. This business' financing proved really awful he needed to fend off charge collectors that are a few .
Sooner or later, Peter declared which he'd have an even far more active part within the cafe and recognized that the error of the manners.
Peter's did actually be performing After Gordon bought the cafe after Kitchen Nightmares. Organization was upward and also the team was shifted. This looked to give a sliver of expectation.
It shuttered its doors.
Owners forfeit to their own businesses. This includes infusing funding or throughout borrowing. This comprises minimizing their cover.
Peter has been very also different. He did not care in the event the cafe had been more still profitable if the invoices weren't paid. He fed up his buddies caught free food, also caught money he felt just like doing this.
He'd not understand he killed the goose which laid the eggs. The cafe has been at their condition of disrepair. The freezer has been busted. Stoves and the ovens are maybe perhaps not shooting upward.
Rather than spending funds to advancement and the maintenance of this restaurant, then Peter applied it to invest in his way of life. Finally he awakened their boat.
Zeke's
James Flynn"Zeke" Unangst has been the dog master of Zeke's throughout its hey day. He had been also a charismatic man that centered on meals items that is and left friends had a fantastic moment. As stated by Jason that the prepare, Zeke was a major guy in'4" and has been loved with all. As stated by your kitchen director, Emil '' they certainly were performing 750 folks throughout Fridays if Zeke ran exactly the exact region.
The region ravaged and required the entire lifetime span of Zeke. The long run has been unclear to its restaurant that is beloved. Input Ellen Cortello along with Darryl. Up on shooting more than they shifted what like the caliber of the meals the recipes, the team, and also the ambience. The owners targeted a lot far much more about profits. They appeared about functioning components and becoming ingredients.
This resulted in industry and the natives.
Gordon received a taste with the once he grabbed the cuisine of the restaurant. The fish wasn't brand new, and it is offender for practically any restaurant at New Orleans. The chicken fried beef has been produced by a excellent slice of beef. '' the Oysters Cortello, the proprietor's devised dish, didn't even impress. Over a constructive note, Ramsay commended that the bread batter.
Gordon wasn't impressed if he moved into your kitchen also watched a deficiency of quality and fresh components. That the restaurant was subjected by him to employing lasagna.
Throughout the team interview, the team confessed as a number never got spend increases they felt . Additionally they felt as though that they had been treated just as grime. They educate Ellen and Darryl in grievances and their gripes. The proprietors knew that the error in the manners.
On re-launch a fresh element clearly is --a boil household exactly wherever you can sample the fresh fish in New Orleans. Team and A operator helped create a victory.
having a shrimp eating competition, Ellen and also darryl strove to join. They're appreciative of these own team.
Whilst the cafe closed from oct of 2012, this explosion running a business was temporary.

Considering Filing for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy? Read This Before You Decide
Filing for bankruptcy is never an easy choice.
But sometimes, it can feel like the only way to escape the vice grip of debt and move on with life.
Most personal bankruptcy filers will turn to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which offers almost total debt forgiveness and a quick discharge time.
But before you can get a fresh start from a Chapter 7, you should know the basics — and what to expect from the process.
What Is Chapter 7 Bankruptcy?
In researching your options, you’ll find there are two common types of bankruptcy for individuals and couples: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. While similar in many ways, they differ in some big areas.
Chapter 7 bankruptcy, also known as “liquidation bankruptcy,” is a bankruptcy by which individuals or couples who are deemed to not have a high enough income to pay back debts can absolve themselves through liquidating their assets.
If the liquidation doesn’t cover the entire debt, then the remaining balance is typically forgiven.
Chapter 13 bankruptcy, also known as “wage-earner bankruptcy,” is for those whose income or other qualifiers make them ineligible for Chapter 7.
These individuals or couples will work with a trustee to create a payment plan lasting three to five years to repay most of their debt, and they won’t have to liquidate any assets unless they choose to.
Of the two, Chapter 7 is by far the most popular.
Here’s how to determine if you qualify (and how to file).
Before You Can File for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Before you file, you’ll have to determine if you qualify for Chapter 7. Seeking professional advice from a bankruptcy attorney is the only real way to determine your eligibility, but if you haven’t committed to getting one yet, here’s what they’ll look for.
The Means Test
Because the basis for Chapter 7 bankruptcy is not having the means to pay your debts, the first step in the process is a “means test.”
The means test is a form you’ll file with information on your income, expenses and family size to determine whether you have enough disposable income to repay your debts.
If your income falls below the median income for your state and family size, then you’re more likely to qualify. If not, it’s still possible you can qualify. You’ll have to report your last six months of “necessary” expenses to show that the money left over — your disposable income — isn’t enough to make your debt payments.
Credit Counseling
You’ll have to participate in a pre-bankruptcy counseling session with an approved credit counselor. The Department of Justice provides a list of approved credit counseling agencies in each state, but you can also do it online or over the phone.
This session is meant to give you an idea as to whether you really need to file for bankruptcy or if an informal repayment plan would be better. It’ll also help you with budgeting in hopes that you won’t repeat the bankruptcy process in the future.
The fee for this credit counseling session can range from $25-$50 and lasts 90-120 minutes.
Bankruptcy History
The last thing that can make you ineligible for filing is your history with bankruptcy. You’re ineligible to file if you’ve had another bankruptcy case dismissed within the last 180 days.
You’re also ineligible for discharge if you’ve had debt forgiven in a previous Chapter 7 bankruptcy case in the past eight years or a Chapter 13 case in the past six years.
How Much Does a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Cost?
Once you’ve checked those three boxes, then you’re ready to file. But be prepared for the costs. The initial filing fee for Chapter 7 — as of February 2019 — is $335.
If you can’t afford the fee, you can either ask the court to split it into four payments or apply for a fee waiver when you’re submitting your initial bankruptcy petition. You’re usually only eligible for a fee waiver if your household income is at least 150% below federal poverty guidelines.
You’ll also need to pay your bankruptcy attorney, which can cost anywhere from $500 to $3,500, depending on where you live.
The Cons of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
The major downside to Chapter 7 bankruptcy is obvious: potentially having to give up many of your treasured things. But there are other drawbacks you may not think of.
It will ruin your credit and stay on your credit report for up to 10 years.
If you’re behind on your mortgage or car payments, then you will likely have to forfeit them.
You’ll lose any luxury possessions and nonexempt property you own.
It won’t automatically absolve you of the responsibility of alimony, child support or repaying student loans and mortgage liens.
The Pros of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
But the upside is great, too: You can get much of your debt discharged and be able to start fresh. Other positives include:
Chapter 7 bankruptcy can be completed in three to six months (versus three to five years for a Chapter 13.)
You get to keep all your salary and wages after you file.
Most states allow you to keep your home and car, especially if you’re current on payments.
Chapter 7 bankruptcy can aid in getting a family court order to dismiss child support and alimony payments.
There’s no debt limit to qualify.
If you owe far more than your assets and/or property are worth, Chapter 7 bankruptcy could make financial sense.
Still, while some of your property won’t be taken and sold to repay creditors, much of it will be. Chapter 7 bankruptcy might be better for renters who don’t stand to lose their homes or for others with few assets.
For one contributor to The Penny Hoarder, who told her bankruptcy story under an assumed name, filing Chapter 7 wasn’t just a financial decision; it was an emotional one, too.
After filing bankruptcy when she was more than $100,000 in debt with a $28,000 salary, she battled feelings of guilt, shame and failure as she worked to get her finances back on track.
Take that into consideration when you’re making your own bankruptcy decision.
How to File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Once you’ve determined your eligibility and counted the costs, things really get moving. Here’s a step-by-step guide to the process.
1. File Your Formal Petition
Your formal Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition includes submitting many forms and your filing fee or waiver application to your local bankruptcy court.
2. Submit Documents to a Bankruptcy Trustee
You’ll need to submit proof of the information you submitted in your initial petition to your bankruptcy trustee. The trustee will be in charge of executing your bankruptcy. They’ll round up your property, sell it, challenge creditors if needed and monitor your eligibility for Chapter 7 throughout the proceedings.
3. Attend the Meeting of Creditors
You’ll attend one meeting with your trustee and creditors after filing. You and your trustee will review the documents you sent them with the creditors, and they will, in turn, inquire about your finances and property.
That’s usually the end, unless there’s a need for more investigation or documents, in which case your trustee will schedule another meeting.
Be aware that if you don’t show up to your meeting, the court will dismiss your bankruptcy case.
4. Take the Debtor Education Course
To get your discharge, you’ll have to take one more course called the Debtor Education Course. This one is about two hours long and can usually be taken with the same agency you did your pre-bankruptcy counseling with.
You won’t want to procrastinate on this. You only have 60 days after your initial meeting of creditors to file your completion certificate with the court.
Failing to file your completion certificate will cause the court to dismiss your case, and you’ll have to pay the filing fee again to reopen it. You’ll also probably have to file an extra petition requesting they accept the late certificate.
5. Get Your Discharge
Once you’ve followed the steps, the court will officially discharge your qualifying debts and close your case.
Be sure to hold onto your discharge order, because while creditors will no longer have any claim to your debt, some may still try to come for it. All you’ll have to do is send them a copy of that discharge order to get them off your back.
What to Expect After You File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Between filing and discharge, there are a few events you should look out for.
Automatic Stay
Once you file bankruptcy, creditors and collectors will have to stop trying to collect their money while the case plays out. That’s called an “automatic stay.”
If a company continues to try to collect during the stay, it’s violating a court order. Let the company know in writing, and the collections will likely stop. If they don’t, notify the bankruptcy court, and they’ll likely pursue litigation against the company.
Seizing of Assets
Your trustee will handle all of this for you. In the unlikely case your home is one of those assets, the trustee cannot come over without first consulting you. And if there’s any disagreement as to what is included in the bankruptcy estate, you can file forms to dispute.
Receiving Reaffirmation Agreements
For secured debts that you want to hold onto — usually your primary mortgage and car loans — you’ll have to sign a reaffirmation agreement for each debt, which will waive the discharge of that particular debt. These will be sent to your attorney and will have to be signed by both you and the creditor before you receive your discharge order.
